Visited on a scorching summer weekend — the heat was intense. There were a few tourists around, most came to pray quickly and left right after. I didn’t stay long either, just enough time to take some photos. The shrine has a beautiful traditional structure, with a unique thatched roof (like woven hay — not something you see every day!) and a striking red torii gate at the entrance. It feels historic and sacred, even in the heat. Would love to come back when it’s cooler to take my time exploring.

I ordered an unagi set which was filled with perfectly charcoal-grilled eel, glazed with delicious sauce over hot steamed rice. I also tried their deep-fried eel bones. They were extremely crunchy and high in calcium! Be warned that if you have to wait in line outside of the restaurant, they’ll make you stand in an area which is right next to their kitchen’s exhaust fans. Which can be very smoky!!
