Road Station Furari Tomiyama is a popular rest stop located on the highway and accessible through local roads. It is well-known for its fish market, locally grown citrus delis, fresh produce, and omiyage shops. The rest stop resembles a mini shopping mall and offers surprising amounts of fun for visitors. A field of daffodils nearby adds to the charm of the place.
We can find good food there, which is rare for a roadside service area. They even have a shop with very local and natural fruits, vegetables and other products.

It's like a service area next to a highway exit. Food court, public toilets, and a small supermarket. Minamiboso bus stops right next to it if you want to go to Iwai station (Iwai beach access), or Tomiyama trailhead. Less than 10 mins either way. But the bus only runs a few times in the morning and afternoon.

You can relax with delicious food and drinks here. It's renewed in 2023 July.

wide parking with some restaurant in the 2nd floor and groceries/souvenir shop in the 1 st floor. Restaurants in 2nd story are a bit pricy while snacks, doughnuts etc ate available in the 1st floor. Get some snacks and have it in the terrace that'll be a good rest of driving.

This is a place to buy produce and other goods grown and made in Minami-Boso. The produce is quite cheap and visitors really load up on it! There are restaurants, good ice cream, and bus service direct to Tokyo or Shinjuku. I come though when staying in the nearby Iwai area, and it's super convenient if quite crowded on summer weekends. Only thing is credit cards are not accepted.

Boso-no-eki Tomiura is a must-visit spot in Chiba, especially for surfers returning from their trips. It offers a variety of fresh seafood including whales, fish, and shellfish that are hard to find in Tokyo. The sushi available here is also highly recommended. This place is always bustling with visitors on weekends and provides options for enjoying sushi, grilled seafood, and ramen.
Pretty awesome place to pay a visit with family! There are several different stores and restaurants here, so that you can buy some stuff or having some foods here before going into the high way. Although the toilets are a little bit old fashioned and it should be upgraded in my opinion, we still like here. (Translated by Google) Normally, I use roadside stations for toilet breaks, but this time I went to buy some Tomiura loquat jelly. There was some construction going on at the station. It seems they were renovating the building. The work will run from September 29th to October 2nd, and there were only a few products left inside. I hadn't noticed before, but they had also created a higher-end version of the loquat jelly called "Extreme," which was packaged in a glass jar. (lol) It looks like the pulp is floating a little. Anyway, as I had originally planned, I bought regular jelly. It's one of the few Chiba prefecture specialties, so I'll probably buy it as a gift.

(Translated by Google) The Boso Peninsula is known for its many roadside stations, and two in particular are the Tomiura Loquat Club Roadside Station and Tomiura Boso Station, which are only 1 km apart, or about a 17-minute walk. Although they are roadside stations, they are packed with so many different facilities that it would not be an exaggeration to call them a town in itself. Specifically, there are souvenir shops, fishmongers, greengrocers, seafood bowl restaurants, tempura bowl restaurants, beach barbecue restaurants, and sushi restaurants. It would take a huge amount of time to explore everything at the roadside station alone, so if there are other places you want to go, it's best to pinpoint them and stick to them. Restaurants are expected to be quite crowded on holidays. While you're waiting for your turn, you can browse the fishmongers and souvenir shops. Other facilities include vending machines, toilets, a rest area, a dog run, and a convenience store.

(Translated by Google) I stopped off here for lunch before heading out camping. It's located right off the highway. There's a roadside station called Tomiura nearby, so I thought about stopping there first for lunch, but there wasn't anything particularly good, so I went to Boso Station instead. I'm glad I ended up there. There are plenty of restaurants and the atmosphere is great. I ate at Miura-tei Seafood Restaurant, and their seafood bowl was only 1,980 yen, which was quite cheap considering the taste and quality. I had a delicious, fresh seafood bowl. It's become a habit to stop here for lunch whenever I go camping again. Toll road rest stop
Visitor Centers
Road Station Tomiura Biwa Club is a popular stop known for its picturesque meadows filled with an abundance of colorful flowers. The rest stop offers a variety of locally sourced fresh products such as fish, vegetables, and delicious BBQ dishes. A must-try is the ice cream that's flavored with loquat fruit - a signature item among many other loquat related products available for purchase here.
Staff at the bus station counter are very helpful and friendly. They have all-day electric bicycle rentals for just ¥1000. If you need a place to sit in real comfort while waiting for the highway bus, just cross the street and look for the visitors' lounge downstairs from the gift shops and cafe. Next door to this tourist info office is a quiet library with clean washrooms.

Very fresh and barely can't see fish in the wet market is available here with super cheap price. There's a restaurant inside where there's a good view of the scenery. The curry there is very salty. If you have kidney problem or avoiding salt don't eat!

Great place to visit and shop and eat. Fresh fish, vegetables and local food. You can enjoy BBQ too. So many types of loquat related products you can buy here.

Loquat, or "biwa" in Japanese, is a small, orange fruit known for its thick flesh. While it's delicious right off the branch, it can also be made into juice and soap. The "Biwa Biwa Club" hosts a tie-dyeing event close to the highway in Minami-Boso. Large amounts of loquat leaves are boiled to make an orange dye. Visitors can make their own custom handkerchiefs by wrapping them in rubber bands and dipping them in the dye! A twist here or there can make some pretty cool patterns. I figured out how to make them my first time doing tie-dye and I want to go back and try some more. There's plenty of good souvenirs like liquor and chips at the gift shop even if you don't join the workshop. The juice and loquat ice cream were my favorites. The great memories I made here come back every time I pull out my tie-dye handkerchief.

If you are into trying to pick your own loquats and eating as many as you can in only 30 minutes with a bunch of strangers for the unreasonable price of ¥2,800 each person, this is your place! If you are a normal person that doesn’t like to waste your hard earned fiat money, just buy a cheap bag of mixed quality loquats and be happy that you are back outside of that overpriced tourist spot.

Restaurant
Osakana Club is a humble seafood restaurant managed by a fishery cooperative. Being located in the north, it offers an array of fish dishes that are not commonly found elsewhere. The boiled fish is presented whole and has a light texture, while the fried chicken brings out the deliciousness of quickly fried whole fish. It's recommended to visit on weekends for limited quantity items, but be prepared for potential waiting times.
By 1pm almost everything is Sold OUT! You can't make reservations for lunch, so you better be here at 11 am to choose anything in the menu. At 11:45 half of the dishes are sold out because the restaurant is famous and the dishes are delicious. We had one if each, raw fish sashimi and sushi, deep fried fish and stewed one. They were all cooked nicely, the stewed Kuromutsu was luckily not so sweet, just perfect! The staff are all wonderful and listen to you despite it being so very crowded and so busy! The dishes come out fast enough. People are lining up in droves despite it being so full. Better come early!

Seafood restaurant
Banya.Head Hall is a seafood restaurant located in a small fishing port, offering traditional Japanese seafood dishes at affordable prices ranging from $15 to $25. The menu features local fish, squid, and sashimi, with photos for each item making it easy to order even without speaking Japanese. The restaurant is praised for its fresh and reasonably priced seafood, with seasonal specialties available.
Near a fishing port, the dishes made with fresh fish are amazing. Not just sashimi, but are delicious no matter how they are prepared. It's a popular restaurant where you may have to queue, but it's a large and the rotation is fast, so if you queue, you're sure to get in. However, be aware that ingredients may run out if you go late. A car is needed for access.

A seafood restaurant in a tiny fishing port. You can enjoy traditional Japanese seafood dishes. The price runs between approximately $15 - $25. Pretty good stuff. There are photos for each items on the menu, so it's not impossible to order without speaking Japanese, but the staff members don't speak English. So it's helpful to go with someone who can speak Japanese.

I went to this restaurant because I heard it was famous. It wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. It is a restaurant that comes with a lot of food with cheaper prices. It was a good experience but I probably wouldn’t go back. It was a big restaurant and I felt like all the food was premade aside from the raw fish. However, compared to the Tsukiji or Toyosu market, it is cheaper and they give you a lot of food.

I liked the food, it's affordable . The portion size is pretty good. It's run by local sea port . Seafood are fresh and taste good. They have seasonal speciality. Couldn't find English menu, I used Google to translate. Parking available. It's open 5.30 pm on weekdays and 6.00pm on weekends.

Nestled in the picturesque Kamogawa City, Oyama Senmaida is a stunning terraced rice field that boasts 375 meticulously arranged paddies cascading down a steep slope. Spanning approximately 3.2 hectares at the base of Mt. Daisen, this unique landscape is not only visually captivating but also ecologically significant as it relies solely on rainwater for cultivation—making it Japan's only rainfed rice paddy system.
This is quite a nice view for a rice field. You need to be there in the right season and weather to get good pictures else it may just look like a green slope of overgrown grasses. When we were there, it is fairly ok as the weather was fantastic.

While touring, I stopped at Boso Station and Miura looking for a place to take a break and have a snack, but the ramen shops, conveyor belt sushi, and hamayaki restaurants where I could eat didn't seem like places where I could have a snack, so I decided to go to this cafe located in a building lined with souvenirs. Among the various breads lined up, I bought this sardine bread with "Sardine" written on it for ¥420. I placed the purchased bread on a tray and sat down on the sofa at the back of the cafe. Since it's new, it has clean and open sofa seats, and it's spacious enough to seat about 20 people. When I tried the sardine bread I bought, it was really delicious! It doesn't have the fishy smell or taste of sardines, and the firm flavor of the fish goes well with the bread! To be honest, the restaurant attached to the hotel had a rather high price point, so I thought this cafe was a good place to fill my stomach. When you find yourself in Tateyama, a visit to the Seihachimaru restaurant at Tomiura Roadside Station is an absolute must. This charming eatery offers a delightful seafood set meal that will tantalize your taste buds. One standout dish is the fried horse mackerel, which promises to redefine your expectations of this classic dish. The seared version is equally impressive and showcases the freshness of local ingredients.

Drinks are self-service to prevent infection. I ordered the daily large bowl and fried horse mackerel. The person who served us said, ``If the fried horse mackerel isn't delicious, you don't need to pay for it,'' so I had high expectations. The fish in the daily rice bowl is also fresh and delicious. The fried horse mackerel is the same size as your hand, crispy on the outside, and has a strong horse mackerel flavor on the inside. Comes with lemon, mayonnaise, and mustard, so enjoy the taste. The large portion of rice was good. The miso soup is made with clams and is also delicious. Very satisfied. The seats at the all-you-can-eat Hamayaki restaurant were spaced close together, so it felt a little cramped. Also, as groups started eating all at once, the sashimi corner etc. were crowded at first. I shifted the timing and placed grilled foods such as turban shells, scallops, and shellfish on the grill, and looked around at other ingredients until it was time to grill them, but as for the sashimi, there wasn't much to appetize me with, so I just had the grilled foods. I did. The turban shells and scallops were delicious. I ate until I was full. We also had desserts, but it would have been nice to have a little more variety. There were many interesting aspects. Historical ancient remains from over 2000 years ago were found in the cave, there is a holy spring (you need to be cleansed before gathering water from it), the buildings are beautiful and well-kept, there are places to hike and see Fuji, and nature is respected and seems treasured (as can be seen in the bird sign). The fortune sheets are uncannily accurate. There was a singing Hototogisu.

I really enjoyed this botanical garden. There are several large atria housing numerous tropical plant species. The musa paradiaca are absolutely huge. There are some interesting birds in the facilities, too. I went during a weekday and there was almost no one around. If you love plants, it's well worth a visit. Though it's a bit difficult to get to if you're not driving. I took the JR highway bus from Tateyama Stn. and walked a bit. I would definitely return.

I loved the tropical rainforest garden and for family with kids, the animals feeding experience is good too. Some of the animals were not looking well and the space assigned to each species was too small for some. The entrance fee is reasonable and the parking is free so it's not bad. The Hawaiian dance show was nice. However it only has a little cafe that serves junk food. There are limited options and the taste was bad so I recommend you eat somewhere else after your visit to the park.

Very chill place, you can stroll at your own pace and the place is not overwhelming. Takes two hours to slowly do the whole park. You can buy snacks for the animals and for 500 yen you get a big bucket of vegetables to feed almost all the animals. It was a lot of fun. The loco moco at the cafe, however, was microwaved and not worth 1,050 yen. Big free parking lot, though. All in all, I'm satisfied.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Cape Nojima is a serene and peaceful headland located at the southern tip of Boso Peninsula, Japan. Visitors can enjoy magnificent views of the lighthouse, take a stroll along the rocky coastline, and witness breathtaking sunsets. The lighthouse at Cape Nojima is among one of the oldest in Japan. During winter months, this place remains tranquil with fewer visitors providing an ideal spot for calming oneself down.
Great place to walk around. On the east side, by the museum amid the pines, is a well kempt grassy area ideal for picnics. Playground equipment is here too, for children. Benches are spaced along the path encircling the lighthouse. Parking areas are plentiful along the coast road to the east. The parking lot by the rotary (next to the restroom) fills early on weekends and holidays. There are public restrooms inside the park. Note that the ocean to the south is the Philippine Sea (not the Pacific).

Museum
Tateyama Castle, located in Tateyama City, offers a unique experience with its hilltop location providing panoramic views of Tokyo Bay and the southern Boso Peninsula. While it's more of a museum than a traditional castle, it features an interesting exhibit about local legends. The short hike to the castle through Shiroyama Park is rewarded with stunning vistas and the chance to see Mt. Fuji on clear days. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful surroundings, especially during cherry blossom season in April.
the view from the castle is beautiful .in the clear view mt.fuji also seen.
Samjhana S — Google review
Entering the castle grounds is free. Even the parking is free. You can enjoy walking up the mountain and enjoying the spreading Sakura trees. Your kids can enjoy the Sakura in the playground area. Entering the castle itself, which is now a museum, costs around 300¥ but this fee and the ticket purchased at the castle museum will also serve as your ticket to the Hakkenden Museum. The castle museum's highlights are the woodblock prints and comics from the early 1900s, and the view from the castle's lookout point. At the other museum, the highlights are the hut or a replica of a hut from the 1800s before electricity and before the use of concrete and timber. It is made from bamboo and thatch roofing. It is an ordinary house from a village around Tateyama. They have beautiful brass and clay cooking implements, bamboo baskets and a loom. There is also an array of pictures from around the area before, immediately after, and 100 years after the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923.

You'll hardly miss this beautiful castle when you visit Tateyama City. It's a rather short hike but you'll be rewarded with a fantastic view of the city and the view of the sea. On a clear day you'll be able to see Mt. Fuji from its observation deck. I'd recommend going here to watch the stunning sunset

Nice park and the castle is well-maintained. There's no fee to enter the park (but you have to pay if you want to enter the castle itself). There are nice views from the summit and flora are abundant. If you're in Tateyama, it's worth a visit.

Sacred place representing ever changing beauty of Japan - historical castle, fresh air, paramount views, well organised plantation, Horyuji-style great architecture + graceful local people. I wish Greta Thunberg would visit here.

A spot you should definitely visit if you're in Tateyama. The castle itself is a little dissapointing - it's more of a museum than a proper castle, but it has an interesting exhibit about a local legend inside (all in Japanese). The view from the top is the best part. You can see 360° of Tateyama with an amazing view of Tokyo Bay. The surrounding park is also a wonderful place to hang out or explore.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Komatsu-ji, also known as Komatsu-dera, is a serene and ancient Buddhist temple nestled in the hills of Minamiboso. The temple is renowned for its stunning fall foliage, particularly the vibrant red Japanese maple trees that adorn its grounds. Visitors can enjoy the delightful atmosphere and explore a lovely pond with an island at its center. Accessible via the GREEN LINE agricultural road, this hidden gem offers a mystical ambiance and is considered a power spot for fertility and safe childbirth.
Very good place to visit if you are nearby… peaceful environment❤️ i really liked the temple’s history❤️Will again visit in autumn🥰
Manee T — Google review
It is one of the oldest temples in this area. Originally, it was built in 700s(Nara-era), and rebuilt in 1854(late period of Edo-era). Now it is usually calm and quiet place, but it gets crowded in the autumn because of red leaves. Maybe the parking must be full. It is difficult to arrive here by public transport, but it is easy to ride a bike in this new road named GREEN LINE. I hope you can be relaxed here.
Peach B — Google review
Komatsuji (Komatsu-dera): Best fall colors in this area -- awesome red momiji 紅葉 Japanese maple trees. An ancient Buddhist temple hidden in the hills. Lovely pond with "island" in middle. Delightfully mysterious and mystical atmosphere. Easy access from GREEN LINE agricultural road (actually a modern highway, but beware of open gutters on road shoulders) which runs from Shirahama JA (農協) north through a tunnel and continues to Kokonoe 九重 train station. Weekends during peak viewing season -- mid November -- are crowded and parking may be restricted to parking spaces along Green Line, from where you would need to walk. Komatsuji is on the left (west) at the bottom of a dip in the road when driving north on Green Line. Green Line may not be clearly marked on GPS (car navigation) map displays because it is not an "official" road.

Nestled in Japan, Takabe Shrine stands as a unique tribute to Iwakamutsukari-no-Mikoto, the deity of cuisine. This sacred site has been celebrating culinary traditions since the Heian period with its renowned Shijo knife ceremony held three times a year. Visitors can witness chefs skillfully preparing fish in this ritual that honors Japan's rich food culture.

(Translated by Google) Takaie Shrine ⛩️ in Chikura, Minamiboso City, is the only shrine dedicated to the god of cooking in Japan. Its main deity is Iwakamutsukari-no-Mikoto (respectfully titled Takabe-no-Kami). The shrine is visited by many miso and soy sauce brewers and chefs, and the Knife Ceremony (a ritual in which chefs, wearing eboshi and hitatare, use knives and chopsticks to prepare seafood such as carp and sea bream without touching the food with their hands) is held three times a year within the shrine grounds. There were several scratches on the stone steps of the Knife Offering Hall, likely caused by knives. (Translated by Google) As the shrine enshrines the god of cooking, I went up to pray for improvement as my cooking skills aren't that great. I went to pray with a rather casual attitude, but I was surprised to find it was even more impressive than I had imagined! The path from the torii gate to the main hall is straight, with beautifully maintained plants on both sides, making it look like a painting! The only drawback is that it's located in a mountain village near the southern tip of the Boso Peninsula, with narrow roads. There is a parking lot, so it's probably best to come by car. Even so, it's a shrine I'd like to visit again. (Unfortunately, it rained on the day. Apologies for the dark photos.) (Translated by Google) The shrine's main deity is Iwakarokugan no Mikoto (Takabae no Mikoto), with Amaterasu Omikami and Inari no Okami as secondary deities. While the exact date of its founding is unclear, it is believed to have originated when several members of the ancient Kashiwade clan (also known as the Takahashi clan), whose ancestor was Iwakarokugan no Mikoto, moved to Awa Province and founded the shrine to worship the deity as their clan deity. The Engishiki Shinmeicho, published in 927 during the Heian period, lists the shrine as "Takaya Shrine, Asai County, Awa Province." However, due to its subsequent decline and closure, its location became unknown for a long time. The current Takaya Shrine is said to have originated in 1620 during the early Edo period, when Takagi Kichiemon, an ancestor of the current chief priest, discovered a wooden statue and a two-sided mirror under a cherry tree and built a Shinmei Shrine with them as the sacred object. About 200 years later, an inscription of "Mikototsu-no-kami, Iwakarokugan-no-mikoto" was found on the two-sided mirror, and it was determined that this was the sacred object of Takaie Shrine, whose location was unknown, and in 1819 (Bunsei 2) during the late Edo period, the shrine's name was changed from "Shinmei-sha" to "Takaie Shrine." There is a well-maintained parking lot. Less interesting than expected. The whale skeleton is impressive. Kids will like it. Local produce section was disappointing. The shop is mostly filled with the kind of manufactured sweets and trinkets that people buy as omiyage gifts or souvenirs. 鄙の里 has a large separate building for its excellent and wide variety of local vegetables, fruit, meat, fresh eggs, and tradtional homemade umeboshi, local honey, and more. There were so many cars that gave way to me along the way, and the kindness of the people in Boso made me want to live in the Tomiura area. Rare Japanese whale cuisine. The lunch course I had was the one that costs 4000 Yen. Good taste but the volume is a little too big for me.

(Translated by Google) You can enjoy a meal full of delicious whale meat. It is a food that is well-known in Japanese food culture, but it is something that people rarely have the opportunity to actually eat. There are not only single items but also sets. There were quite a lot. Delicious! From what I thought, this is a pig, right? However, it was a fun experience to be able to enjoy a wide range of recipes such as sashimi, tsukudani, and fried tatsuta. The bento boxes from this shop were also sold at the roadside station near Wadaura Station. (Translated by Google) ``The old man who had eaten whale during school lunches in the Showa era thought that ``whale was not very tasty, and had strange, hard, sinewy meat,'' but this perception was completely overturned at this restaurant. ” Well, it's true that I'm from the generation that first ate whale meat for school lunches in the Showa era, but if I've been touring around the Kanto region for over 30 years since then, I've only learned that the whale food in Minamiboso is very delicious. Or rather, long before this Google Map was created, we Showa biker men have been captivated by the charm of Minamiboso's whale cuisine. One of the restaurants that serves some of the most delicious whale dishes is Piman. As for why the restaurant got its name, you can ask the owner, an old man who has a friendly demeanor and always comes to ask about his impressions of the food. Please see the menu in the photo. It's not cheap at all. Even the cheapest set meals cost less than 2,000 yen. But there is value here that goes beyond that amount. My recommendation is that even the cheapest set meal comes with the basic whale sashimi and cutlet, so order that, and then try ``Kujira Yukke'', which is whale sashimi topped with egg yolk, as part of the set meal's rice. I would like you to accompany me. This is a combination that raw meat junkies who say they want to eat their beef steak rare or that sukiyaki is best before it's cooked through will definitely understand. It's a wonderful altar that gives even such a stingy life the opportunity to rediscover just how delicious whale food is. When you look at the parking lot on Street View, you might think, "There's only room for three cars!", but there's actually a downhill slope right next to the store's building, and at the end of the slope is a paved parking lot. There is space to park approximately 15 cars. The space itself is flat and there is no strange downhill parking lot, so both motorcycle touring and large motorcycles can be parked safely. Why not stop by for lunch while touring? We're open until 3:00 pm, so even if you're on a short detour and miss lunchtime, you can feel free to visit! However, entry is not accepted until 3pm! Please note that the store closes at 3pm! [Hama Chidori] 4400 yen [Mink whale red meat sashimi] The fatty skin sashimi was delicious. The red meat is similar to that of a whale, and is a mysterious meat that is somewhere between fish and meat. [Whale cutlet, Tatsuta-age fried whale] Fried Tatsuta goes better with whale than I expected and is delicious. The cutlet is also pretty good. [Grilled with herbs] This also feels good. Maybe it was rosemary, but it went together better than I expected. It's well made and eliminates the whale odor perfectly. [Tail feather with mustard vinegar miso] I don't taste it, I enjoy the feel of it [Whale Yukhoe] 990 yen Goes well with eggs too [Whale namero] 990 yen The ginger probably tasted like shiso? This also effectively removes odors and makes it refreshing to eat. [Whale croquette curry] The whale taste is a mystery, but it's actually a delicious curry. Croquettes are so hot. [Overview] I thoroughly enjoyed the first whale specialty store. It's not just the materials, but the ingenuity such as herbal roasting and namero that I think are good. If you show them your Tabelog or homepage, they will give you a whale chopstick rest as a memento. Only one mystery remains. Why pepper? Pizza restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a unique pizza experience in Japan, look no further than Pizza Indy's. This charming local eatery strikes a delightful balance between familiar Western flavors and inventive Japanese twists. The menu features high-quality ingredients, with some sourced locally, including fresh seafood that adds a special touch to their offerings. The ambiance is quite distinctive, adorned with motocross memorabilia that creates an intriguing backdrop for your meal—complete with full bikes adding character to the space.
Great service and atmosphere. Food came out very fast. Wood oven is something you do not find often. However we felt the pizza should have been cooked a bit longer, but still very good.

I liked the style of the place and felt a lot of love had gone into the details. The owners were Also very kind. It was nice to have a couple of oven baked pizza’s. The taste was good, but there wasn’t a lot of toppings, so it felt more like we had some bread as a simple brunch. The price at 1200 is on the low side for similiar pizza places so maybe it’s a balance to keep prices low.

We've waited a long time to have pizza at Indies and we were not disappointed. Its woodfired crust is just the right mix of crispy and chewy. Topping options range from classic - mushroom and sausage - to wildly creative - banana and garlic. (Both were good!) Looking forward to another visit when we are in the area.

So Japanese pizza takes a little getting used to for a US American. But Pizza Indy's is a nice local spot that serves up a good balance of Western-familiar and uniquely-Japanese styles of pizza. Good quality ingredients, some locally sourced (like the seafood). The decor is motorcross of all things, but it's quite an interesting and lovingly collected set of paraphernalia, including a couple of full bikes...it goes well with the casual food. Lovely staff! They put up with our big group of mostly-English speakers with smiles and good service. If you're in Chikura, might as well try Indy's...you won't be disappointed.

Toki no Ne is a restaurant that allows guests to celebrate the 100-day milestone for children. It offers a private room where patrons can dine peacefully without worrying about noisy children. The establishment even provides a Bouncer, which was greatly appreciated by customers. The food served is not only delicious but also extravagant in presentation. The staff members are friendly and engaging with the children, finding them adorable.

I booked an inn for 80,000 yen for 2 people per night, and I thought the room was very high quality and good value for money, with a sauna and a room with a garden and an open-air bath. I think it would be twice as expensive if it was Hakone or a famous hot spring area. The sauna was also well-equipped with a good temperature and cold water bath. You can also adjust the temperature of the hot spring and it's at its peak. Dinner was a multi-course meal, and everything was delicious. (Translated by Google) The best thing about Japanese Auberge Kinoto is the fresh seafood that is delivered to the kitchen within an hour of landing from the fish on the restaurant's own fixed net fishing boat. I think this is the restaurant that puts the most effort into cooking among the Hanashibuki Resort Group. An auberge is one in which the chef first chooses local ingredients and then decides on the location of the restaurant based on the freshness of those ingredients. This restaurant does not disappoint. It is not in a location with a great view, but the open-air hot spring bath in the guest room with a large eaves, where you can enjoy the view of the well-maintained small garden, is very relaxing whether it is rainy or sunny. The constant sound of water coming from the hot water outlet makes you feel like you are staying in a villa built on a babbling stream. Both dinner and breakfast are served in private rooms in the main house, which was renovated from an old house. I think it is better to eat in the dining room than to eat in your room, where there is always a time lag in the serving of food. There are six guest rooms in total, but I didn't have a chance to meet any other guests. There is a lounge in the main building where you can enjoy alcoholic and soft drinks, but everyone seems to head straight back to their cozy rooms. Prices are very reasonable. If there's one drawback, it's that if you eat seafood at another restaurant immediately after eating fresh fish here, you may feel a little disappointed.

However, if you can turn a blind eye to that preconceived notion, it faces Satoyama, is covered in greenery, and is a quiet and very calm location. I also really liked the feeling of reaching the room I stayed in through the alley in front of the main building, which is the front desk. The main building has the appearance of an old house, but the guest room building is made of black walls, but the inside is a modern Western-style room, which is a nice contrast👍️. If I had to say something, the interior walls seen from the guest room are also black walls, so I felt a bit closed in. However, the open-air bath, sauna in the room, and cold bath are the best. And in a sense, the food fills your stomach, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is surprising. What is interesting is that it is delicious, but even when I saw one dish of spiny lobster, I seriously thought, "I wish this was the food served at a wedding reception." The amount is a little too much for an old guy like me, but if you want to eat a lot, you can adjust it by asking for more rice in the rice cooker 😁 All in all, this is a recommended inn that will provide you with the best experience with its facilities, food, and hospitality from the staff! Shiramazu Florist, located in the Chikura district of Minamiboso, is a charming flower field facing the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can enjoy flower picking and explore the beautiful grounds. The small-scale garden offers a variety of flowers for sale, with prices ranging from 300 to 450 yen. While some visitors found the experience somewhat lacking due to limited blooming during colder weather, others appreciated the opportunity to pick flowers and purchase cut blooms from the shop.

Nemoto Swimming Beach is a popular spot in the summer, offering a unique experience where visitors can drive their vehicles onto the beach for camping and beach activities. It's equipped with amenities like BBQ pits and lifeguards for safety. While some mention algae in the water, others appreciate the clear waters and recommend it as a scenic drive course. Families with kids find it convenient, and shell collectors enjoy the variety on Mikamine Island.
Very relaxing, i find locals were very friendly..

Nice find. First time to this beach. Good for families with kids. All amenities that you need are there and the lifeguards were very helpful although at time they could be a little to concerned but I suppose that is their job and they were always polite.

I would’ve gave a 5 but it’s laking a shower and it was filled with algae I tried swimming but there was algae everywhere.Should definitely be avoided if you’re not comfortable having algae in your feet in gray water.Fortunately there were few rocks with cristal clear water to take a swim.Water is not that cold, June is a good month to go.

A most beautiful beach at the southernmost tip of the east side of Tokyo Bay. People return year after year to enjoy this paradisiacal place. The Ogamine promontory points to the South Pacific. To the east you can see Mt Fuji on a clear day. To the southeast are the islands of Izu-Oshima, including Niijima, Shikinejima, Koushima, and more. Miura Peninsula on the west side of Tokyo bay is also often visible. Motorized recreational vehicles and seacraft are prohibited. The beach is popular with surfers, anglers, campers, and beachcombers. It's a frequent (several times a month) filming location for TV, movies, commercial films, ads, and related imagery.

(Translated by Google) I use it every year. As expected, the number of users has dropped significantly since 2023. Perhaps due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, I feel like the trial campers have retired. Compared to decades ago, the beach has been eroded, seaweed has washed up, and Area 2 is almost completely unsuitable for swimming. I guess Area 3's appeal lies in the rocky shore at low tide and the good water quality... The rocky shore and edible shellfish are no longer available. The toilets are still the same, but the fact that they've been remodeled to Western-style toilets is somewhat of a relief. I also feel like they've raised the usage fees and made stricter inspections of vehicles entering and exiting the facility. Nearby leisure facilities have also closed. This year, I think it was the Hawaiian-style Aloha Garden on Flower Road? It closed, too. It's a shame, as it was a great place to buy souvenirs on the way home. Haraoka beaches offer a delightful experience with shallow, warm waters and numerous rock pools to discover. The beach is a perfect place for exploration and relaxation, with plenty of options for activities like swimming or picnicking by the shore. Visitors can enjoy the serene ambiance of this beautiful coastal spot while taking refreshing dips in the inviting waters. Haraoka beaches are an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat away from their busy urban lives.
Witnessing the beauty of Haraoka Beach and the sunset at Haraoka Pier was a truly unforgettable experience. The breathtaking panorama, with Mt. Fuji rising majestically in the distance, left us speechless. The raw power of the waves crashing against the wood platform was both awe-inspiring and humbling, stirring a deep emotional connection to the natural world. It was the perfect end to a beautiful trip.

In the evening there is natural phenomenon of lights which make the sky so beautiful. Highly recommended for taking natural & romantic pictures 📸. Parking is free here 🙂

Beautiful sunset view but it’s totally packed with visitors and photographers at 6pm. Full parking plus the neighbourhood streets are quite narrow- best to park at the 7/11 nearby and walk over on foot. The pier was so busy there wasn’t any space for us to step on so this time we just had a glimpse from afar.

This is an amazing spot to spend a perfect beach day. The vibe is relaxed yet lively, with plenty of space to stretch out, soak up the sun, or just let the sound of the waves set the mood. The beach itself is clean and inviting, making it just as great for a refreshing swim as it is for simply lounging on the sand with good company. As the day winds down, the atmosphere shifts into something even more special. Watching the sun set over the pier is nothing short of spectacular—the sky explodes with warm colors that reflect beautifully over the water, creating a picture-perfect moment you won’t forget. It’s the kind of place where time feels slower, and you can just take it all in. Whether you’re here for a full day of beach fun or just to catch that iconic sunset view, this spot has a unique charm that makes it feel like a little slice of paradise.

Tensaku is a delightful dining spot that promises an unforgettable culinary experience. Upon entering, you might not have high expectations, but the flavors will surely surprise you! Their Tensakudon set is a standout dish, offering generous portions of tender kakuni and a side of udon for just 200 yen. Diners rave about the crispy kakiage tempura bowl as well, which comes loaded with toppings and pairs perfectly with their flavorful udon soup.

(Translated by Google) Arrived at 11:30 on Sunday, the middle day of a three-day holiday. It was already almost full, and the store was also full. I ordered the kakiage tempura bowl set (¥990 + large size ¥110) and the kakunidon + udon (¥1320 + large size ¥110). The kakiage is voluminous and crispy with plenty of toppings. Braised braised meat is light and has little fat. The meal will proceed. Both the udon and the soup are delicious. It was delicious from start to finish. Even my husband, who doesn't usually eat pickles, enjoyed the pickled radish. Even though they are busy, the owner and staff serve customers calmly. I felt calm while watching it. On the way home, I bought a vegetable (¥80) that was at the entrance. It was half the price of the roadside station. The lady there was kind and it became a store I would definitely want to come back to. P.S.: The greens were delicious and had no bitterness. I arrived around 6 p.m. during the Obon holiday, and the sign said they were preparing, so I called inside and they said it was fine, so I popped in. While udon noodles vary in taste, I personally like them chewy, and the tempura bowl I ordered was crispy and the broth was sweet and delicious. My daughter said the sashimi she ordered was fresh and plump. It was also helpful that they provided water and refreshments. It's so hot these days that no matter how much I drink, I still get thirsty, so this was a lifesaver. (Translated by Google) This relaxing, Japanese-style restaurant by the seaside is a delightful surprise, but I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the fact that it's not primarily a seafood-focused udon restaurant. I'd heard their tempura bowls and braised pork were delicious, so I'd been checking them out for a while and finally made a long-awaited visit. The main dish, udon, was just as chewy and plump as Sanuki udon, my favorite type of smooth noodles. The flour itself was so delicious, and the broth was light and tasty, I drank it all up. The value-for-money combination of tempura bowl and braised pork bowl, which came with a regular serving of udon for just 200 yen, was also excellent. Their specialty, braised pork bowl, was particularly tender, perfectly seasoned, and satisfyingly chunky, leaving even me, a meat lover, very satisfied. The portions were so generous that I was impressed, and with the generous amount of rice, it was incredibly satisfying. The tempura bowl also boasted a delightful sesame oil aroma, and was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It was incredibly delicious; it was the first time I'd ever eaten such fluffy whiting. The Tensaku bowl was topped with shrimp and vegetables, and the crispy batter was amazing. The price was also reasonable, at 990 yen including tax, and I could see why it has received such praise for being cheap, delicious, and filling. For the portion size and flavor, I think the price is truly good value. The restaurant's atmosphere isn't particularly clean, and to be honest, the toilets are a bit old and I wouldn't use them, but the food was so delicious that it didn't bother me. The owner and his wife were both very kind and welcoming, and I was impressed by their unfazed attitude, even when we arrived just before closing time.

(Translated by Google) This is a restaurant that serves delicious sushi. I recommend the omakase sushi, but they're also happy to accommodate orders like this if you want something more affordable. Next time, I'd like to enjoy some drinks and delicacies in the evening. I recommend making a reservation. Ramen restaurant
Ramen Yamaki is a hidden gem nestled in the scenic Tateyama area, known for its limited hours and seasonal operation. Open from 11 am to 2 pm, this charming ramen shop attracts both locals and adventurous motorbike tourists. On my visit, I was delighted by the quick turnover that allowed me to dive into their delicious offerings without much wait. The friendly staff made the experience even more enjoyable!
(Translated by Google) Visited at 11:30 on weekdays. There was already a line in front of the store, and we waited for about 20 minutes before entering the store. There was a counter, table seats, and a raised area, and it seemed like it could fit about 20 people. Since it was my first time, I ordered the soy sauce-based vegetable ramen which seemed to be popular based on other people's reviews. Although you can't really tell from the photo, the steam was very hot, giving the impression that it was quite hot. It was actually hot. Is it because the vegetables are stir-fried with lard? The vegetables are perfectly stir-fried and have a wonderful texture. I liked both the soup and noodles. The noodles are medium-thin and straight, and go well with the soy sauce base. The miso is a little thick and seems to vary depending on the seasoning. I felt it was a little expensive, but overall I was very satisfied. It's a little far from the center, but it's a good local restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Veggie Ramen is a popular here and good to someone fulfill a stomach. Mountain high pan fried veggie is kinda food fight challenge.

(Translated by Google) I had wanted to go to this restaurant for a while...It was in a pretty remote location, but even though I moved the time to just after 1pm on weekdays, it was almost full... Vegetable ramen with soy sauce So I went in and tried it! It's so powerful that the soup overflows on a tray♪When I tried it...wow...I've eaten a lot in the Tateyama area...I really like the flavor of the soup. The vegetables were cut and stir-fried really well, and even though it was average, it was full of power! It has a simple taste, but it's really delicious! Menu prices have gone up since before, but the prices of various things have gone up... so it's okay if the restaurant continues to exist. I will definitely come back next time in Tateyama and try other menu items! Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m (Original)

(Translated by Google) The ramen shop is only open for a short time, and the last time I visited Tateyama, it was closed so I couldn't get into it ☺ Apparently they don't do it in the summer. Business hours during this season are 11am to 2pm. It was lined up with locals and motorbike touring customers. The turnover rate was good and I was able to enter the store without waiting too long. The clerk was also kind. I ordered salt vegetable ramen! It was full of vegetables and had my favorite flavor. Next time I would like to try fried rice and miso!

(Translated by Google) I was intrigued by the reviews and asked about it. I had the vegetable miso ramen and it was as delicious as the reviews said❗️ Even if you eat less noodles, you won't feel guilty because the amount of vegetables is enough to fill you up (lol) It seems to be closed from around the end of June to the end of September every year, so be careful when you go.

The salt ramen and green onion char siu (soy sauce) have curly thin noodles, and the green onion miso char siu has thick noodles, and the soups are both refreshing and have a nostalgic taste that is very satisfying ^^ (Original)

I added two slices of pork to the vegetable miso ramen to make it vegetable miso pork. Each slice of pork was 150 yen. There were fewer vegetables than I expected, but it was very delicious. There were packages of fried rice, yakisoba, and shumai available for takeout inside the store. Nestled in a seemingly remote location, il Faro offers an enchanting dining experience that feels like a hidden gem. While the menu is predominantly in Japanese, English translations accompany most main dishes, making it accessible for non-Japanese speakers. The staff may not be accustomed to international guests and have limited English skills; however, their warm hospitality shines through. Even without a Japanese speaker in your group, you’re likely to navigate the menu with ease.
An absolute must if you’re in the area. We chose this place based on the great reviews and were not disappointed. From the salad to the pasta to the wine and the fish. Everything was fresh and incredibly delicious.

Great little spot in the middle of nowhere. Or at least it feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere when you follow Google maps instructions to walk there after dark! The menu is mostly in Japanese, but most of the main menu has English written under the Japanese. The staff was clearly not used to dealing with foreigners and couldn’t speak English, but one of us spoke Japanese so we could get by. I’m sure it would have been fine even without a Japanese speaker in the group. Good food and cute desserts! Budget around ¥10000 for food for two with two glasses of wine.

(Translated by Google) Each piece is carefully made and will bring a smile to your face with every bite. There is also a seasonal feel, such as fish for appetizers and fruits for dessert ◯ At first, it might be a bit salty or unsatisfying. There are times when I think that It gets better as you eat more It feels like it matches the state after eating. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand the staff's explanation of the dishes as they spoke too fast. The timing of things like refilling water and stocking items was good, so maybe I was just a fast talker.

(Translated by Google) I made a reservation and went at 11:30. The store was 90% full, so I thought it was a popular store. The carrot dressing on the salad was absolutely delicious. The appetizer was delicious, something like cauliflower tempura. As for the pasta, the oyster and spinach cream pasta that my husband ate was delicious. The desserts and drinks (iced cafe latte) were all delicious and the coffee dripped properly. Next, I thought I'd try the pasta for an extra charge. (Translated by Google) I made a set for 1800 yen. Although the prices are reasonable, the quality of the food is quite high. The main pasta dish has 90g of noodles, so it's quite satisfying. For lunches under 2,000 yen, dessert is often a bonus, but this one was a delicious pudding with strawberries. If you're traveling and planning to eat seafood at night, I think it's a good idea to eat here for lunch.
