Park
Yugawaramanyo Park is a charming green area near Tokyo that features a stream, waterfall, and foot spas with unique designs and temperatures. Visitors can reach the park via Tokaido Line and explore various natural sites such as forests, waterfalls, and wildlife. Additionally, during the right season, fireflies can be spotted in the park. A Tanuki shrine is also located nearby along with a foot onsen for those seeking relaxation (300yen per person).
Beautiful river walk and the foot bath was at the entrance (or exit idk) of the park. It’s not a big park so it wont take too long to walk along
Jupiter N — Google review
Glorious park full of bamboo, ginkgo, kaseki elms accompanied by bubbling river. There’s a footpath and places to eat and drink and - randomly - free WiFi through. Hence the review! Very lovely
Ben D — Google review
A great place to wander around - the waterfall and 'rapids' are pleasant, and there's an easy walk. There are seats at various points where people were relaxing, reading books or snoozing within sight and sound of the water. The signs warning of bears and wild boar were somewhat alarming, but I assume that spotting one of either is rare (there were many oeople wandering around without a care). The area is well-preserved, with a pleasant visitor area. Best of all, it's free to enter (via a tunnel from the carpark). Buses run in both directions from just outside. A very relaxing place.
Jeremy F — Google review
Footspas were pretty good and the scenery walking through the park along the river is quite beautiful. Downside is the horrible plastic sandals you have to wear to use the spas, other than that the variety of spas with different tiles to stimulate, sooth or punish your feet in each of the seven separate baths was excruciatingly pleasant. 😬
Danny S — Google review
Enjoyed the short riverwalk in the park. There was a lot of shade that proved helpful in tolerating the summer heat. Numerous small waterfalls along the river. Didn't see any monkeys or wild boars even though there were warning signs. Enjoyed some espresso, a sandwich, and juice at the park cafe. Food was better than average and reasonable in price. Would definitely come back.
Gerry W — Google review
Loved this park so so beautiful liked the terrain the green the water the light there’s a small coffee shop and a co working space which are beautiful too
Neha J — Google review
Nice park, but pretty overrated. You can walk through it in about 10-15 minutes. The shrine inside is a bit rundown. Not a highly recommended tourist destination, but alright to stroll through if you’re in the area.
Fox G — Google review
If u happen to be a tourist around Tokyo, and have time to kill, go book urself an onsen resort in Yugawara. U can get there via Tokaido Line. Once in Yugawara, by city bus, u can get around different places, including Yugawaramanyo park. Yugawaramanyo Park is filled with various sites to see. Natural life, forest, waterfall, etc... U might even get to see fireflies if come at the right season. There's is also a cute little Tanuki shrine (with a touching story if can read Japanese). Closeby is a foot onsen (300yen per person) if u like some relaxation too. Highly recommended if u like nature. Park is free to enter, but surround site may need to pay, such as foot onsen.

Outdoor bath
Kogome no Yu Onsen is a simple outdoor hot spring located in an onsen town famous for its spring cherry blossoms and autumn foliage. The facility offers various baths, including an indoor bath and open-air baths of different sizes. Visitors can enjoy the soothing hot springs while taking in the scenic surroundings. The water is known for its skin-smoothing properties, making it a popular choice among guests. Additionally, there are relaxation areas where visitors can unwind after their bath.
Nice place. They take care of one cat, many people like this and take pictures. It gives good vibes.
Anas X — Google review
We enjoyed staying at this onsen for a couple hours. Our sense is that it is an onsen popular with Japanese families. Each side includes an indoor and an outdoor hot pool. The views, at least in summer, were not quite as pretty as the advertisements online would make them seem. But we still enjoyed the experience.
Alex B — Google review
The staff were very friendly. The open air hot spring was at a good temperature, not too hot, and the water made my skin really smooth. The only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of a view of any sort from the hot spring, given the scenic surroundings of the location. But at ¥1000 and lots of places to relax after the bath, I'm very satisfied with my experience here.

Gosho Shrine

Shinto shrine
Gosho Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Kyoto, Japan. It was constructed during the Heian period and is dedicated to Emperor Konoe. The shrine features several buildings, including the main hall, which houses a statue of Konoe. Many visitors come to Gosho Shrine to offer prayers for good fortune and success in their personal lives. The shrine also holds several annual festivals that attract large crowds of people from all over Japan.
Very fun to visit here. Try to find "Shichi-fukujin," sevenlucky gods. And you will be surprised to see very old and spiritual giant trees here. Enjoy!
星野浩 — Google review
An old Shinto shrine which is a 'powerspot' apparently. It's certainly very humbling with its three massive trees that are about 800 years old. One of which you pass under to enter the carpark. Inside they have statues of the 7 gods of fortune which are fun to find and pose with for pictures. (There is one across the road. Don't forget about him!) Up the top is the main shrine area, with a couple of cute shishios guarding the deity there. It's well shaded, has easy access and is a relaxing place to visit.
JG T — Google review
I stopped by on my way back from visiting Yugawara Onsen. The bus bound for Yugawara from the hot spring gets off at the Gosho Jinja-mae stop, and you will see the first torii (first shrine gate) in front of you. There are many old trees in the shrine grounds, including an 850-year-old camphor tree, and you can feel the power of the shrine. It is fun to look for the Seven Deities of Good Fortune. The shrine office is open from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, and the red seals are available only for 600 yen per set. The shrine office is open from 10:00 to 15:00, but it seems to change depending on the season, so it would be better to check the website before visiting. It was about a 15-minute walk to Yugawara Station on the way back.

Visit the seven jolly gods and goddesses and pay respects to the gigantic millennian trees. You'll come away feeling positive for sure. There's wheelchair access if required.

Nestled in the charming town of Yugawara, Hyorokutei Fujiya Ryokan is a culinary gem that specializes in eel dishes, particularly their renowned eel clay pot rice. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by the mouthwatering aroma of grilled eel wafting through the air. The restaurant's inviting ambiance adds to the experience, making it a delightful spot for lunch or dinner.
A bit expensive, perhaps, but excellent taste and a warm service and atmosphere. Loved the wall panels.

(Translated by Google) The other day, I finally made it to Hyorokutei, a restaurant I'd been wanting to try. The eel was truly exquisite, and I was blown away. The moment they opened the lid of the earthenware pot that was brought to me, the fragrant aroma that wafted through the air instantly stimulated my appetite. Inside, the plump rice and shiny eel were beautifully arranged, and the mere appearance alone made it a feast. With one bite, the outside was fragrant, while the inside was soft and juicy. The sauce wasn't too sweet, perfectly complementing the umami of the eel. The rice, cooked in the earthenware pot, had a nice graininess, and the combination with the eel's fat and sauce made it delicious down to the last bite. And the crunchy texture, enjoyed hitsumabushi-style, was also fantastic. I enjoyed it as is, then with condiments, and finally with dashi broth like ochazuke, fully enjoying the changing flavors. The balance between the crispy, fragrant exterior and the plump interior was exquisite, keeping me coming back for more. The restaurant had a calming atmosphere, and the attentive service made it very comfortable. It was a slightly luxurious meal, but the satisfaction was definitely worth the price. It was a flavor that I would recommend to eel lovers, as well as those who don't usually eat it. While eel is often associated with summer, this is a restaurant you'll want to visit no matter the season. I was impressed by the fluffy clay pot rice, the fragrant hitsumabushi, and each and every dish, each one packed with meticulous preparation. I'll definitely be back.

(Translated by Google) My favorite room is still comfortable, but dinner was full of fried foods, which was disappointing. Matsutake mushrooms, chestnuts, Pacific saury spring rolls, sweet potatoes, burdock, and shiitake mushrooms - I wish they'd cut me off. The sukiyaki-style beef was salty, and the soup had fried gluten and figs, and the oily broth was not tasty. What on earth happened? I was really looking forward to staying here after 10 months, so I'm very disappointed. I'm planning to return in January, but I'll think about it. This small town is packed with famous restaurants, each with their own unique flavor. I ordered hitsumabushi and matsutake mushrooms here, and both were absolutely delicious. I'm from Mishima City, a place famous nationwide for its eel. I've eaten eel in many places around the country, but the eel here is undoubtedly the best I've ever had. The staff were very friendly, and I had a pleasant meal. While many people associate Yugawara with hot springs, I believe that for discerning gourmets, a visit to Yugawara for delicious food is well worth it. With so many famous restaurants, it's hard to visit them all in one or two visits. Recently, Nyorosuke, a nationwide chain, has emerged as a sister restaurant, claiming to be able to serve delicious eel without the need for a skilled chef. This group of restaurants is now dominating the eel industry! That's why they're designed to capture customers' hearts with everything from the restaurant's atmosphere and approach to the menu, to the Instagram-worthy dishes (their clay pot eel rice is a highlight). (Well, to put it simply, it's like an eel restaurant version of Denny's.) This is a wonderful project worthy of praise, having renovated an abandoned inn in Yugawara at a cost of hundreds of millions of yen. It's also wonderful that they've added an eel restaurant as a signature establishment. All that's left now is to find authentic cuisine and staff who can provide the "omotenashi" (hospitality) that Japan is so proud of. 202509 (Original) 202509

This Tokyo-based establishment offers a dining experience comparable to the finest establishments in terms of price and quality. The ambience exudes a cozy and welcoming vibe, complemented by the owner's engaging conversations and impressive culinary skills. Garlic lovers will find themselves enticed by the ample amount of this flavorful ingredient used in various dishes.
Such a wonderful experience! It was a the feel of a high end dining experience but we were treated like family. The wagyu and smoked salmon appetizer were so amazing and worth every penny. My boyfriend and I both agree this was the best meal we have eaten so far in yugawara area. The hours are very convenient too, many other places in the area were closed. I always worry, "Is it really okay to offer something so reasonably priced?" The homey atmosphere and the owner's talkative and efficient manner are truly professional! I think the fun conversations he gets other customers involved in are one of the reasons I keep coming back. I also love being able to watch the flambé performance right before my eyes and the skilled hands of the chef! The fillet, which barely requires any teeth, is cooked to perfection! I don't think there's any other teppanyaki restaurant that's as delicious as this. And I worry, "Is it really worth the price?" The restaurant is staffed entirely by people from Tokyo. Seafood restaurant
福浦漁港 みなと食堂 is a modest eatery located near the fisherman's docking area, offering a delectable variety of grilled and fried seafood, sashimi, and draft beer. Visitors praise the delicious food and friendly service, with some mentioning the beautiful ocean view. While some note that there might be a wait during peak times, many patrons highly recommend trying out this spot for its fresh and well-prepared dishes.
One of my favorite places to eat. The fish is all caught that morning. This results in very fresh fish but it also limits the menu to what was caught that day. The staff is always friendly. Be aware that it is cash only and the menu is only in Japanese.

Popular location with several items with only 1 portion a day / sold out by the time we arrived around 1PM on Thursday. Food is ordered prior to seating from the menu pasted up on the wall outside the restaurant. Drink orders are placed after you’re seated. At 1PM we had to wait a few minutes for an indoor table. Last orders are at 2.30PM while the shop closes at 3PM. Service by the more senior staff was noticeably more friendly! Note: • No English menu available. • Cash-only payment.

Konichiwa! This was my second visit to Minato Shokudou, and I was just as impressed as the first time. We both ordered set meals, and the seafood was absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection, and the accompanying side dishes were also very flavorful. The atmosphere at Minato Shokudou is lovely, whether you choose to dine indoors or on the terrace. The restaurant has a relaxed and inviting vibe that makes you feel right at home. One noticeable change since my last visit is that the portion sizes have seemed to decrease while the prices have remained the same. Additionally, the restaurant still does not accept credit cards, so be sure to bring cash. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Minato Shokudou once again. The delicious seafood, charming atmosphere, and friendly service make it a great place to enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner. While the portion sizes and payment options could be improved, I still highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of fresh, authentic Japanese seafood
