National park
Nature & Parks
Erawan National Park is a renowned destination featuring tiered waterfalls, picturesque hiking trails, and opportunities for nature exploration and swimming. The park is home to the iconic Bridge over the Kwai River, a significant relic from World War II. Visitors can also pay their respects at the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and admire the panoramic views from Wat Tham Sua temple.
It's a well maintained tourist attraction. The national park is set up to receive a large number of people, there is plenty of parking and amenities. Access to the waterfalls is relatively easy and the climb is not too steep. Any fitness level can manage. A lot of rules around taking plastic bottles and food. Don't litter and get a swim vest if you want to jump in the pools. It's around 1 hour drive from the main town. During the off season I would recommend staying in a nice hotel in kanchanaburi and drive yourself to the national park.

I did the walk today. It is so pretty walking up there. 🙆‍♀️Took me 30 mins 1 way to level 7. Wasn't very nice swimming so didn't unfortunately. Worth going to the top and isnt to bad..as long as u like lots of steps 🤪

🌿 Erawan National Park 📍 94GV+5HW, Tha Kradan, Si Sawat District, Kanchanaburi 71250, Thailand This is truly one of the most beautiful national parks in Thailand! The highlight here is the Erawan Waterfall, which has seven tiers, each one different and stunning in its own way. The first few levels are easy to reach and great for relaxing or swimming, while the upper levels take a bit more effort to hike but are absolutely worth it. There are small shops near the entrance where you can buy food, snacks, drinks, and coffee before starting your walk. You can also take a golf cart ride to the first level if you prefer not to walk the first stretch. After the second level, you’ll need to register your water bottles and leave a small deposit (refunded when you bring them back). No food is allowed beyond this point, which helps keep the waterfalls clean, something I really appreciate. If you’re visiting during a Thai public holiday, be prepared for large crowds. Otherwise, on normal days, it’s peaceful and very enjoyable. There’s also a campground if you want to stay overnight, and nearby spots like the Erawan Dam are worth checking out too. Entrance Fees (as of 2025): •Thai Adults: 100 THB | Thai Children: 50 THB •Foreign Adults: 300 THB | Foreign Children: 200 THB Overall, this park is 100% worth the trip, beautiful nature, clean water, and well-maintained trails. A must-visit if you’re in Kanchanaburi!
Curtis — Google review
Beautiful park, especially from tier 4 and up since the majority of people don’t walk up higher. The path is well maintained all the way to the top and should be possible for most people. We even saw monkeys crossing the waterfall, it was unbelievably beautiful. To all the people with a fear of snakes, like myself, this hike is very doable and you always have a clear view of where you go. I was never too afraid to encounter one and we didn’t see any. There are also enough people around so you are not left alone on a jungle dirt path. Don’t avoid for that reason.
MaximHeyns — Google review
This national park has a ratger expensive admission (100THB for the locals and 300THB for the foreigners). Due to the popularity of this national park, getting into the park by car including the waiting time at the entrance for payment would take at least half hour. Howwver, there are plenty of parking spaces which drivers do not have to worry about. The park is huge so consider spending at least whole day. There are 7 levels of waterfalls and each of them has its own uniqueness and difficulty. Overall the exprience was not too good because there are simply too many people, but I would recommend to visit there at least once in your lifetime.
Angus P — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Erawan National Park is one of the best attractions in Kanchanaburi. It has seven beautiful waterfall levels, each with clear blue water where you can swim and relax. The hike to the top takes about 1.5–2 hours, and the trail is well-marked. There are food stalls, rest areas, and clean facilities near the entrance. Best to visit early in the morning to avoid the crowd and enjoy the cooler weather. Highly recommended for nature and adventure lovers! 🌿💧
Waw S — Google review
For the casual hiker , you’ll probably get to the 7th level in about half an hour - basically a stroll in the park. The best waterfalls are definitely on levels 5 to 7, so unless it’s absolutely pouring , don’t turn back
Albert S — Google review
Amazing spot for camping and nature explorer but we experienced heavy rain at Level 4, then get a long wait to go back as the weather not allowed to swim anymore. Be careful if u plan to visit the area. Except this, everything is amazing to enjoy the nature.

Caverns & Caves
Phra That Cave is a large cavern located in the dense forest of Kanchanaburi, about 10 km from Erawan Falls. To access the cave, visitors must hike up steep 600 m stairs for about 30 minutes. Once inside, a national park ranger will guide you through the five caverns, showcasing stunning rock formations including stalactites and stalagmites resembling a Buddha image and coral reef. The cave is also home to numerous bats.
Magnificent, overwhelmingly incredible! A completely different little world. Friendly and helpful guide - flashlights provided. (No photos do this experience justice). The stairway to to the entrance will test your patience and lungs - so worth it!
Jade G — Google review
Prepare your glutes and your lungs, because visiting Tham Phra That is less of a cave tour and more of a vertical obstacle course! 😩🧗‍♂️ Legend says there are 592 steps (I lost count around step 50 and resorted to whimpering), but honestly, scaling that mountain to reach the mouth of the cave is half the adventure. You will be sweating buckets, questioning every sugary choice you made this week, and briefly considering a helicopter ride down. But fear not, the well-maintained staircase and the knowledge that something amazing awaits you are enough to drag your weary body to the top. This is the ultimate warm-up (or cool-down!) for your Kanchanaburi trip! 💪 Once you make the final, slightly claustrophobic squeeze through the entrance, the whole atmosphere changes. The cavern opens up into a massive, stadium-sized hall that feels truly enormous. It's like stepping into a cathedral built by giant subterranean artists! The limestone formations are the star of the show—shimmering, translucent stalactites that look like frozen waterfalls and giant rock pillars in various, imaginative shapes. A huge shout-out to the park ranger/guide who is mandatory (and very helpful!) because without their light, you'd be hopelessly lost in the cool, silent darkness. It truly is one of the most magnificent, otherworldly caves in Thailand. 👽✨ This cave is the perfect, slightly masochistic adventure to pair with a visit to Erawan Falls (flash that same park ticket!). Just remember to arrive before 3:00 PM and wear your best non-slip sneakers. The 30-minute tour inside is pure magic, a stunning contrast to the green jungle outside. Yes, your legs will be screaming obscenities at you for 48 hours, but the memory of seeing this huge, shimmering geological wonder will totally win that battle. Highly recommend for adventurers who love a challenge! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🔦
PK P — Google review
Worth visit for a foreigner in my opinion. The road to cave is not hard to walk and not far from the parking. You can ask for a tour guide if you need, it is dark inside, u can ask the tour guide who standby outside the cave for touch light. If you need a tour guide, you have to know Thai language. If you got plan to go Erawan waterfall, you can go Erawan Waterfall then pay a visit to this cave, the ticket of Erawan National Park for 300 Baht can be use for these 2 location within the same day.
Jayne Y — Google review
This cave is really cool but much different than most caves in Thailand. The first difference is the ranger won’t give you a light so it’s hard to see in the cave. The second difference is the cave has a walkway the entire way so it is easier to walk. LOTS OF SNAKES IN THIS CAVE. the walkway to the cave says 600 meters but the ranger said that is just the elevation the real distance is 1.5 kilometers. The path is also getting very overgrown and forgotten. Overall it’s very cool!
Nonthaburi C — Google review
A beautiful cave with limestone formations. It was a moderate climb for us. 600 m of steps. The caves are well maintained. The ticket used for Erawan waterfalls was also valid for a visit to the cave. There is a ranger guide at the cave entrance that takes you in. We took about 3 hrs for the full trip
Pankaj M — Google review
Beautiful cave. It's a long walk (stairs) up but worth it. There are a few benches on the way so you can take a break. There is a ranger / guide station just at the entrance of the cave once you reach the top. From there you will be accompanied by them and given a tour inside. It took us approximately 20 mins to do the tour inside the cave and back out. the entrance to the cave is a very narrow gap in the rock, it's quite a squeeze especially if you have a backpack. The rest of it is a safe and comfortable walk on an elevated platform. You'll see a lot of naturally made shapes and sculptures in the rock and limestone. The Ranger / guide will help you identify them.
Brad D — Google review
Caves are mysterious well designed by the nature Just don’t think to go inside without the guide You don’t need any other workout the day you decide to visit the cave The entrance is so narrow and maybe scary, but there is big open area inside You still need your one day national Park pass ticket to the area
Mehrab S — Google review
Long walk from entrance till the crave but very nice. Many steps, you should be fit to walk through. Cave is very nice - there is staff to show you the inside of the cave. Can see a lot of bats if you look to up. For me a must see..

Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
Tree Top Adventure Park Kanchanaburi is an exhilarating experience set in the jungles of Kanchanaburi, perfect for families with older children and adventure enthusiasts. The park features a Money Swing course with 30 stations, zip lines, and treetop-based games. Visitors can ride a skybike over the tree canopy or take on the giant zip line that spans the length of the park's lake.
My husband and son embarked on a tree top adventure, and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive, leaving me filled with pride and joy. I strongly recommend this experience for anyone seeking an adrenaline and dopamine boost! While it may present challenges for some, the fun and excitement are guaranteed. I am especially grateful for the opportunity it provided my son to build confidence by pushing his limits. This adventure is not just an exhilarating experience; it’s also a chance for personal growth.
Belle K — Google review
We had great time with our family, 2 adults and 3 kids ages 7, 12, and 14. There was a guide with us all the time, helping the 7-yr old, making it a fun experience for everyone. The ziplines are quite unique, and you also have the opportunity to swing from a rope (if desired). The focus is more on ziplines, and the rope challenges themselves are not very difficult. Beautiful scenery in the forest. No mosquito problem at all when we were there on late October at around 1 pm, and the weather was also excellent. We asked through our accommodation in Kanchanaburi to start at 1:30 pm, even though it is not standard, and there was no problem with that. Overall a very good experience.
Ariel E — Google review
My girls enjoyed the zipline in particular. Though one was reluctant to do it, at the end she was was happy with her experience. She also commented how patient and nice their guide was. Note that we should have worn pants as we ended up with mosquito bites when we went into the woods.
Faith A — Google review
Tree top adventure park at kanchanaburi was great. The staff was nice and very helpful and lead us through the rides. Take note that you must first buy the tickets from the hotel resort in which this tree top adventure park is located. Then you will walk about 300 m to the starting point where you will get equipped and trained. The last ride is a zip line over a lake and is very nice. If you are skilled, you may even want to touch the water with your hand! The Tarzan jump is the best ride though the most challenging! If you are physically fit, you should be able to complete the whole track in at most 1 hour.
Franck C — Google review
Very good experience, the staff at the playing area is friendly. The reservation is required, it have multiple rounds per days. They are so patient with our chaos group😂 cause we are so weak. Deduct one star as the reception homeputoey hotel where is the entrance of tree top park. The staff seem like not welcome us.
Chompoo W — Google review
Wonderful experience! We all loved the stations and ziplines. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We were accompanied to every station by a wonderful young man who definitely knew what he was doing. This is not the first time we tried zip lining but one of the best ones so far. There were many different styles to cross the trees like riding on a tricycle although I couldn't take as many photos as I liked since I was busy holding on myself. The highlight was the last zip line which was about 200 M long across a body of water. That was the best one so far as it went very smoothly and thrilling for all of us. We booked the event through Klook and drove ourselves there which took about one and a half hours from Kanchanaburi city. There is a restaurant at the hotel where Treetop Adventure is so you can find food prior to starting zip lining. A precaution is you should bring insect repellents with you as there are many mosquitoes since it is situated in a rainforest.
Fah S — Google review
Absolute must do if you are in the area! It is located as a part of hotel Phutoey. So make sure you come down to the hotel car park and check in at the reception. It is recommended to make a booking to avoid disappointment as I believe the numbers of people are limited for safety reasons. Obviously the appropriate attire such as easy and comfortable clothing and sneakers etc. the price is a bit high side for the activities in Thai with 1000 baht per head, including children, however it is well worth it! The tree hopping and zip lines are quite challenging as it is pretty high up from the ground. There are many wobbly steps and creative zip lines… some were quite scary but so much fun!! I was a bit worried for my 5 years old and 8 years old but the instructor was a fantastic help for having kids follow the lines. Both my kids really enjoyed it also!! The surrounding is really green and beautifully set up in the complete nature. It was perfect way to spend afternoon with a lot of excitement, away from the busy life of Bangkok. This has certainly become the highlight of our Kanchanaburi trip unexpectedly. I would recommend this to boys and girls, young and old, who want to enjoy nature and excitement! Tip: don’t forget mosquito repellent!
Miho — Google review
The place is beautiful thanks to its location. However, Compared to other ziplines adventures we did around the world, this place unfortunately falls back due to small changeable things: 1. They ask you to leave all your belongings in the car or at the lobby, but do not provide any kind of photo service. It's unfortunate not to have a memory from the activity. 2. Security- unlike other ziplines i went to, here you have to attach and detach the life line by yourself. This was complicated and a little scary. 3. They only send 1 staff member with the group (we were 5) while other ziplines I've been to send at least 2. This can of course delay the group, especially if some of the members are having difficulties with the technicalities of attaching and detaching the life line. 4. As mentioned above, all our belongings were left in the car. After the activity every one were very sweaty and thirsty. They do not supply water bottles or have a cooler for you to use. This is a very small budget gesture for them to do, which I think also relates to Security. I hope they read it and change it immediately. 5. They should clearly reccomend to do This activity with long pants. The mosquitos are relentless and care very little for the 7/11 repellent everyone uses. All the participants got mosquitos bites. All in all, a nice activity if you got some extra time and nothing else to do. as For the zipline experience itself, there are better.

Forested trails in this mountainous reserve lead to waterfalls & caves with rock formations & bats.
Really good places for adventure. There are 2 caves, small one and a very big one. You have to climb up many steps high. Recommend to prepare your health ready for this.
Anchalee S — Google review
This is one of my most impressive places in Kanchanaburi provice, Thailand. You need to pass a small cave that has plenty of bats but inside the cave is very beautiful. (You can wear mask to prevent the bat poop smell) Then, you will meet a forest that is very well preserved. There are many types of mushroom and small animals. After walking about 1.3 Km., you will see a 1st level waterfall, Tri trueng, that is very nice too. After that, walking up to the 2nd and 3rd level waterfall. The way to go up is a bit difficult with high steep but the path is good and stable. And during the way to the scenaric viewpoint is quite difficult and a bit dangerous but it's not hard for those who have hiking experience. I do not recommend people who have heart atttack or mussle pain to continue walking because the path's quite steep and not that stable. Also, the viewpoint is nice. And then, continue walking to 300 meters to the last cave. The park closed at 4 pm. And the tourists are not allowed to enter the park after 3 pm. That means you can stay in the forest until 3 pm., then you have to walk back and leave the park before 4 pm. For hiking here, I recommend wearing hiking shoes and pants. The bug spary is also useful.
TanaP M — Google review
While this park wasn't originally on my 12-day Kanchanaburi itinerary, I'm glad we had an extra night to visit. The experience was well worth it, thanks in large part to the kindness of the staff. Mr. Ton, one of the park officers, was especially helpful and spoke excellent Mandarin. He was able to get us special permission to take shelter in the main hall for the night due to heavy rain and safety concerns. The park is known for its impressive caves, which are a definite highlight. The area around the caves is filled with large linestone and fresh, cool air. The main path is well-lit, but be prepared to crouch down in some parts. It's a short journey—you leave your car at the park headquarters and walk about 300 meters, then another 30 meters to the end of the main cave. For those who want to hike further, there are additional trails, though some are damaged and impassable. The trail ultimately leads to a larger cave, which you can also reach by driving about 30 kilometers. As for camping, the grounds are not as spacious as other national parks, and while there are platforms, they are far from the washrooms and didn't seem intended for camping. On the morning of my visit, I experienced a water supply cut, similar to a previous stay at Phu Teoi, but the kind park staff allowed me to use a washroom in one of the chalets to clean up, which was very considerate. There is a food store, but the selection is limited. Overall, this park is a great choice if you're interested in exploring caves.
Rachel Y — Google review
Very pretty national park with really huge trees and a beautiful cave. It is just a little out of the way and some might consider it hard to get to. I would say it's best to visit during weekdays as the trail itself is quite small and can get very crowded quickly.
Vijo V — Google review
Great park! Very cool caves with plenty of bats. Pretty waterfalls. Butterflies are abundant. Heard lots of birds, but didn't see many. Very well maintained with clean and tidy restrooms. Prepare to do ALOT of walking/hiking, as vehicles must be left at the car park near the entrance.
Sevin D — Google review
Nice national park. The first cave is ok, the trek that's following is even more impressive. Djungle forest following the river up the hill. Bring good shoes. You have to pass many rocks and stairs that have seen better days, but acceptable. At the top of the hill, you will find the main big cave, which is actually not an enclosed cave like the first one but more a ginant dome. I recommend to book a transfer to the lodges back before, because otherwise you have to walk all the way back on your own. Not crowded, I've seen less then 20 people during the whole day.
