The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is a historic and bustling marketplace where vendors sell their goods from wooden boats. Visitors can take a local long-tail boat to explore the market and shop for souvenirs. The market is known for its unique feature of being situated along a railway, where vendors and customers make way for passing trains before resuming business as usual.
What a wonderful experience we had. I had wanted to experience a floating market and we took the opportunity to come to the oldest one. My 91 year old father was heading back to the States and we took him here along with the the railway market. It was a fun and exciting experience.

It was quite interesting, I have to agree it's a bit touristy, but I think it's worth a visit overall. If you're looking to save some money, I'd suggest taking a tour from Bangkok. I've found that you often get a better deal that way. Souvenir shops sell pretty much the same stuff as you can find in other places in Bangkok. You can enjoy sticky mango rice 🥭 and coconut ice cream 🍦 while enjoying the boat ride.
Sebastiano T — Google review
A lively and colorful market with a great atmosphere and plenty of photo opportunities. It’s quite touristy, but still an interesting experience to see the traditional floating stalls and local products. Best to visit early in the morning before it gets too crowded. Overall, worth seeing at least once for the unique setting and local charm.
Nicolas — Google review
4th October 2025: Mildly interesting experience, there are far better markets in the streets. We went as part of a tour. I wouldnt want to go out of my way to visit this place, as its a pure tourist trap. We did go at the start of the season so it wasn't too busy. Boats seem to steer you to their preferred vendor, and everything is alike. Still each to their own, and a different experience.
Alan H — Google review
Visiting the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is a truly unique and unforgettable experience. The small boat cruise takes you along a lively waterway lined with countless shops selling a wide variety of local goods, souvenirs, and Thai delicacies. It’s fascinating to see how vendors sell directly from their boats, creating a vibrant atmosphere that perfectly captures the charm of Thailand’s traditional floating markets. The entire experience feels authentic and distinct — gliding through narrow canals surrounded by colorful stalls and local life. There are plenty of snacks and desserts to try along the way, including mangies, sticky rice, and other traditional Thai treats that make the ride even more enjoyable. For those looking for something unusual, you can even take a picture with a snake handled by locals offering photo opportunities. And if you’re lucky, your boat driver might take you a little farther from the main market area, where you can spot a wild monitor lizard resting near the water — a surprising and exciting highlight of the trip. Overall, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market offers a fun, scenic, and culture-filled experience that’s great for tourists who want to see a different side of Thailand’s local life. It’s definitely a must-visit for those who enjoy sightseeing, trying local food, and discovering the country’s traditional market culture in a picturesque floating setting.
Christoffer B — Google review
This place is full of traditional charm. I really enjoyed the local meals and bought many souvenirs. The water area could be cleaner to make it more attractive and eco-friendly. I’ll definitely bring my friends here — it’s one of the best places to visit in Bangkok!
Min W — Google review
If you have never visited a floating market before, you should do so. We visited this place on a weekday and it was not crowded. There was plenty of parking, which we had to pay for before leaving, with no signage. The luch we had was so so. I'm not sure, maybe I expected something different, because we visited another floating market on the edge of Bangkok and it was way better. The items they sell there are almost the same. The highlight is when the river is full of boats.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market: It’s very busy and I can see why some people say it’s a tourist trap, but during my visit, I actually enjoyed taking the boat, watching the market traders trying to sell their goods, seeing how some of the locals live and general people watching. I also ate some food at one of the restaurants and I have to say the price and quality was very reasonable. (Sorry I can’t remember the name of the restaurant) Overall Rating: 4/5 (Recommended)

Tiger World, a zoo that opened in 2013, offers visitors the unique opportunity to interact with hand-reared rescue tigers. Various packages are available for feeding and spending time with the tigers, including inside their cages. The friendly staff provides clear instructions and takes many photos to capture memorable moments. However, the small size of the zoo and lack of adequate shade or trees may pose discomfort for both visitors and tigers during hot weather.
Absolutely loved it. It was an awesome experience with the tigers. Taking pictures, feeding...the staff is really alert and they take good care of everything. They will take all the pictures and videos for you. The photo frame given to us at the end is a nice gesture from them. The baby tiger is super lively and some tigers are really huge.
Mohit S — Google review
A 2 hour drive from Bangkok, it’s must go place for those who love to get close to a tiger. It’s super safe clean and importantly these cats are well trained from the cubs. For kids they have tiger cubs as well. Once in a life time experience for those watched these magnificent animals in Discovery & Nat Geo.
Balaji S — Google review
Look, I had a great experience with the tigers. My friend and I went and loved seeing/interacting with the tigers. The staff feeds them chicken the whole time during the shoot and distracts the tigers behind the camera using props & they were kind staff. Didn’t seem like the tigers were sedated (but with saying that, all the tiger tourist attractions places say they don’t sedate but really do) so I’m not entirely sure as I’m not a tiger/vet expert and don’t know signs of sedation… but the tigers were quite active so I think that says something, and I personally think the salivation is from them being fed.. just like how dog drools when foods around. Only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because I was quite sad with how small the enclosures are for these beautiful creatures, and most were locked in small cells, did make me quite sad walking past them. I asked if they take the tigers to a more bigger area someplace else where we couldn’t see that had more trees and room for them to roam around, but they said no. They have 21 tigers at the facility. Many tigers but small enclosures. Other than that, tigers definitely weren’t chained from what I could see and I didn’t see any “abuse” whilst I was there. I tried my best to find the most ethical tiger place in Bangkok, and after a bit of research tiger world Thailand seemed like the better one. I’m just glad they’re not chained, drugged up where they could barely walk and not being abused like other places. Just giving an honest review.

I cannot put into words how amazing this place is! We did the Premium Gold Package. They picked us up from our Hotel in bangkok. They gave us SO MUCH time with the Tigers. The staff was VERY sincere. The Tigers look happy, and healthy!!!. I could go on and on. Literally a once in a lifetime experience! The Photographer is so amazing, and professional. My girlfriend, and I felt very safe! I Literally can not speak highly enough about this place 10 out of 10 recommend! Don't miss out!

5 stars!! This was an amazing experience! The tigers are very well cared for and they make sure you are safe the entire time. They capture amazing photos for you!
Crystal A — Google review
Absolutely reasonable prices. The establishment is very clear with their policies on how to safely interact with the tigers. Also, there are 3 employees feeding the tiger bites of raw chicken the whole time you are in there - safe to say that tiger is distracted. They have a very professional photographer included to take pictures. He has a nice camera and he also clips your phone to a camera mount to record you while he takes the photos. We got the standard package - three poses for each of 3 different positions (9 different photo scenes). The photographer takes a lot of photos at each position and transfers all the stills to your phone at the end (included in the base price). They also have a high quality printer to print you a letter sized photo and frame it. For our package, one framed print was also included. At no time was there sales pitches, which was very nice. We had a ton of fun chilling with these tigers!!

5 Stars – Incredible Experience at Tiger World! 🐅🌟 Visiting Tiger World was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. Their customer service was absolutely top-notch – friendly, helpful, and genuinely passionate about what they do. What really stood out to us was how well they care for their tigers. It’s clear that the animals are not just well looked after, but truly loved. The staff were knowledgeable and took the time to share interesting facts, answer our questions, and explain how they ensure the health, safety, and happiness of each tiger. They also went above and beyond to make sure our visit was special. Whether it was taking extra time for photos, helping us feel safe and comfortable, or just sharing their love for these majestic animals, they exceeded all expectations. You can tell Tiger World is run by people who truly care about both their animals and their guests. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable wildlife experience!

Amazing experience. Staff members behaved very profesional and I was amazed how quickly they worked in between pictures (talking about feeding adult tiger with chicken to get distracted). They immediately react if tiger behaves different. Our questions were answered by nice lady (forgot the name) with red/pink hair. She printed our pictures and send all on our phones ( no extra charge) . The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 is that to me tigers have quite small enclosures , unless the area that they were in was only for picture taking

Floating Market

3.0
(1058)
The Floating Market Tourist Tour is a must-visit experience, especially during the summer months. It's best to arrive early in the morning to avoid both the heat and heavy boat traffic. The market is about a 1.5-hour drive from Bangkok, and visitors can enjoy a boat ride along the river while observing shops selling various goods and food items. While it may have become somewhat touristy, it still offers an authentic experience with affordable food options.
Visiting the floating market was such a unique and unforgettable experience! Watching the long tail boats glide along the canals, filled with colorful tropical fruits, local snacks, and souvenirs, feels like stepping into another world. The atmosphere is lively and full of charm — vendors cooking fresh food right on their boats, locals bargaining, and the smell of Thai spices drifting through the air.
Serena C — Google review
We read some bad reviews before going but decided to go anyway. Sad to say that the reviews are true. We had a good time still, but it's nothing like the authentic photos online. Bangkok taxi driver for 450 baht, price seemed too good to be true because it was. He takes you to a boat rental place where you have to rent a boat 1 hour 2000 baht. We managed to negotiate the price down, but were later charged additional 200 baht parking fees at the train market. Prices are still low considering we had a nice full day of activities, but it all makes it feel like a tourist scam. The floating market was a nice experience, but many stalls were closed in the afternoon and it's true they overprice everything compared to other markets. It's also mostly just stalls but instead of walking you visit them by boat. I'd recommend to go for the experience, buy something small as a souvenir but do your big shopping somewhere else. Be prepared to hustle your way through price negotiations and go in the morning instead of afternoon.
Laurien D — Google review
Visiting a floating market is a truly unique experience. The canals are incredibly lively and colorful, and it's so cool to see vendors selling food and goods directly from their boats. It’s a fantastic photo op, for sure. Just be prepared, though—it's definitely a tourist trap. It can get incredibly crowded, and the vendors can be a bit pushy.
Dan — Google review
The floating market is a must-do activity in Thailand! I found it absolutely beautiful, a great place to buy art, bags, dresses and souvenirs. You can even grab some snacks and local food along the way. We went in the afternoon so it wasn’t too busy, but people say going early in the morning is the best time to see it in full swing. I really enjoyed this experience. It’s a good idea to bring a raincoat just in case it rains.
Lizeth L — Google review
The floating market we've been to was too expensive. Before traveling, we searched that some entrances are affordable or even free of charge. However, as our tour guide brought us to that place, we were surprised how expensive it was. The fee is not per head but per boat and it costs 6,000 baht. There were many of us and needed 2 boats, so that's 12,000 baht. My friends and I were hesitating and wanted to cancel the plan and move on to another place. However, they gave us a discount and made it 6,000 baht for 2 boats. Since we did not have any more chances to try it, we went for it. I understand how dirty the water was, but the items for sale were also overpriced. This is the most expensive place we have been to.

It was an amazing ride. Thailand is so beautiful! The people were so nice. I loved it! Spent too much money, but I loved it!
Loni L — Google review
Such a fun experience! The floating market was full of life, with so many food stalls and unique items to try. The boat ride made it even more special and felt very authentic. Great place to explore, eat, and take photos — highly recommend visiting!

Good experience. Recommend buying tickets in advance to get a better ticket price. Get the motor boat vs. paddle boat. There are many local vendors selling food and souvenirs.

This is the best resort ever and I had a good time unplugging myself! The staff is very helpful and polite and the pool was relaxing and warm. The rooms were big and had a great view 🪟 while the breakfast is of great value and a good way to experience Thai food! 💯 recommend especially if you want to visit the nearby Tao Tuk Luck/Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.

I only had a one night reservation here as I got into this place, this place is very fancy and luxurious but VERY Pricey per night. The pool times were good and the pool is massive but my personal advice, don't swim at night the mosquitoes are so bad there at night that you have to stay in the water without bug bites
Oran ( — Google review
I really wish I got to stay here longer but unfortunately it was only for 1 night because of a change of plans on my part. But that one night was brilliant! The whole place was super peaceful and both pools were really great. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were also really clean and well prepared. The restaurant meals and breakfast were delicious as well. The only fault I could give is that the mattress was very hard. If you want to see the floating markets then this is definitely the place to stay. I will most certainly be coming back.

Great weekend relaxing hotel not far from Bangkok. It is located on the river, close to the floating market and surrounded by farms. The outdoor space is shady, there is a lot of water and a lot of fish. As for mosquitoes and other insects, there are none in the coconut village and teak house. Coconut village villa is spacious, bed is comfortable, bathroom is amazing with good quality toiletries. For dinner there is Spring 22 restaurant with a unique design and good cuisine. Asian meal is better than European, but the drinks are simply divine.
