Good market and a lot of shops!
Nice mall with a great variety of shops. Has its own parking garage and it's only a few hundred meters walk to Tampere's main shopping street.
Our favorite from the 2 city center malls. More "down to earth" than the newly opened Ratina mall. Nothing fancy, which we like.
Location is little bit akward because of construction everywhere but that will clear out in few years :D

Very modern and family friendly, wheelchair friendly shopping centre. Has great play area for kids. Good family/breastfeeding rooms available with comfy armchair, high chairs and other usefull stuff i have not seen previously in any other countries provided in public spaces. Shopping Center Ratina is a modern and diverse shopping destination in Tampere, Finland. It offers a wide range of boutiques, services, fast-food options, and restaurants to cater to all your needs. The mall provides excellent parking facilities and is well-maintained with friendly staff. From clothing to groceries and assorted merchandise, the center has it all. Additionally, there are popular stores like K-supermarket and Lidl for convenient shopping.
Easy to reach by foot or by a car. Good parking space. Has rather standard selection of the stores you see in every Finnish mall, but also some unique ones. Has good selection of restaurants upstairs.

Awesome retail/restaurant/stadium location along the river allowing for a multitude of options, including many options for children.
Large shopping center for Finland. The weather was terrible so this was a nice place to walk around. Lots of shops and great restaurants.

You can find many stores in this shopping center, Ratina. As a person who just arrive and live in Tampere, knowing this place is something. The shopping center is complete from my perspective. You can find home utilities, a bookstore, food and beverages, and so on.
It's a mall of its own class. Very nice array of shops and restaurants. Excellent parking space. Friendly people around. You'll never run out of choices when shopping for your needs. Clothing, groceries, assorted merchandise - they have them! Restrooms are excellently maintained and it's a very walkable mall that's suited for all ages.
It's a nice and big mall :)

It's convenient to travel too since it's in the middle of the city by Bus, Tram or by car. Excellent choice and I will go again. 👌

Amazing dishes and service.
Starter of garlic butter escargot, the butter was rich & fragrant. The escargot was soft and had absorbed the garlic fragrance well.
Mains of ribs and a burger. Ribs were in a rich BBQ sauce more sweet than smokey. But still fell off the bone. Substantial portion sizes. Very filling and delicious.
Service was amazing, rectified mistakes very quickly. Got the wrong drink order and it was replaced and not noted on the bill.

This pub is one of the best I ever been to... worldwide!! Located inside a beautiful traditional brick building, interiors neatly decorated create a warm and welcoming environment. The staff is kind, professional and friendly. And the food is just awesome!!! One of the best burgers ever, and the marinated pork was incredible!!! High quality ingredients prepared in perfect receipes: excellent!! An absolute must!!!
Dropped by late afternoon for drinks. Cosy space with friendly servers and different nooks for you to choose from to sit. Good variety of craft beer. And if you need some recovery, they offer a good selection of tea and coffee too.
Awesome location great décor great selection of beers. The food was pretty good but I could not give it more than 3 stars just. Because of how expensive it was. Good selections of beer. We had burgers and chicken salad. Price on the high-end side, friendly service, and clean toilets. We were in door as it was late but can imagine it would be nicer on a summer day to sit at outdoor terrace.

Koskipuisto Park in the heart of Tampere is absolutely stunning during the summer months. The riverside setting along Tammerkoski is peaceful and full of life. What really caught my eye were the gorgeous white and pink flowers throughout the park
It’s the perfect place for a relaxing walk, picnic, or just to sit by the water and watch the rapids flow. Even though it’s right in the city center, it feels like a calm little escape. The paths are clean, the grass is well-kept, and the atmosphere is just peaceful and inviting.

A simply gorgeous park along the river in downtown Tampere. Later afternoon the locals gather along the banks to enjoy the last bit of warm sunshine for the day, very calming indeed.
Koskipuisto in Tampere is a wonderful place to sit, relax, and soak in the atmosphere. I spent a quiet afternoon there, sitting on a bench by the Tammerkoski River, watching the water flow steadily beneath the bridges and listening to the soft rustle of leaves. The combination of nature and city life created a peaceful yet lively ambiance, and I felt completely at ease, taking a moment just to breathe and enjoy the present. It’s one of those places where time seems to slow down, making it easy to appreciate the simple beauty around you.
Nice park right in the center of Tampere City, lots of places to sit and relax, a play park for the kids, rapid style water river with a really nice electric Weir plus there's a tram stop called Koskipuisto too so easy to find.

The restaurant, which opened in 2018, is a newer landmark in Tampere situated at the top of the Ratinan shopping center. Its unique setting allows guests to enjoy breathtaking vistas from the vast open rooftop terrace on the seventh floor as well as from inside on the sixth floor.
Awesome restaurant with one of the best views in town. You can see Tammerkoski, the town, the Southern harbor, Nokia Arena and the Ratina Stadium. There is also a rooftop terrace, which is probably a good place to view a concert or game on Ratina Stadium. Very friendly service and delicious food.

This is a nice bar and eatery with an amazing view of the skyline of Tampere. The food was tasty and sumptuous. In my experience, the service was prompt and the staff was kind and professional.
Excellent hospitality and food. We only had a starter and a drink as we didn't have much time as we were with our child, but the staff made sure we were comfortable. All the food was authentic and really tasty. We will be back again.
Nice Terrace Bar, but a bit overrated. There were no heaters and in September it is a bit too cold. The bar tender struggled to make whiskey sour... I hope during summer time it looks better

Definitely try the terrace. Menu has vegetarian options also, delicious ones, portions may not be as what you expect, but they are really tasty and yum. Price is in middle-to-high range, check the menu online so not get shocked by some prices.

Not recommended. The salad buffet is a joke, the lettuce was pale and even had a chemical taste. The pizza table is poorly run and unhygienic. People use the same serving equipment for meat/vegetarian/fish pizza etc. Staff not cleaning up the mess that the kids make using the buffet, looks more like feeding time at the zoo than a restaurant. It's a big disappointment.

Eat All You Want restaurant in the old but smartly renovated shopping mall in the center of Tampere. Soup of the day, seasoned bread, salad with ingredients, pizza slices (also for vegans, I hear), wings, sausages, meat balls, onion rings, soft drinks and soft ice cream with sweet sauces. Fill up your daily calorie intake in a single meal (or don't :)!

Ravinteli Haarla is a long waited restaurant at this nice building on central of Tampere.
Atmosphere is elegant and cozy even though interior might feel like a maze for someone.
Menu is not too complicated and it is quite easy to find suitable selection. Wine & drink menu is wide.
Service is very friendly and welcoming.
The atmosphere is very nice with a warming and fun greeting and help by the waiters.
The menu is simple and very clear to understand.
The portion sizes are small and the food is expensive. So dont go in starving because you will be peckish after a three course meal witch is disapointing after spending 70€ on the food. The taste and creativity put in the food is very high. Very delicious food that melts in your mouth. But there is an exeption ( see below)

For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Museokeskus Vapriikki, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Tampere-talo. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Museokeskus Vapriikki, situated in Tampere, Finland, is a museum complex housed in a renovated textile mill. It offers diverse exhibitions covering cultural history, natural history, and technology. The center features interactive displays and engaging exhibits suitable for visitors of all ages.
Wonderful museum structure with many smaller exhibits under one roof. Unique and clean with much information in Finnish and English. You can also use your camera phone to translate much of the information as well. Free lockers to hold your personal belongings. There is a cafe and restaurant and moderately priced. Parking is close by and priced reasonably well.

Amazing museum with unexpected themes they have. In Vapriikki, they have many themes, such as DNA museum, Hockey, and even game museum! We enjoyed the venue, and ticket for children with less than 7 y.o is still free.
Don't let the €15 Euro entry put you off! It's definitely worth visiting this museum. It's informative and interactive - especially the games exhibition which was like walking through your childhood again and I even learnt that one of my favourite games comes from Finland! There is an interesting assortment of themes for the museum such as radio, post, Dungeons and Dragons history, ice hockey hall of fame and of course, the textile industry that built Tampere. This city was built because of the British and people saw the rapids and thought "money" - classic industrial revolution starter pack. This unfortunately is where the museum loses a stat from me, all of the information about the fabric industry is in Finnish with nothing in English which is such a shame when everything else in the museum is in both languages. Last but not least, go and check out the music exhibition for some Finnish knock offs of British classics. Definitely worth a visit
An outstanding location for anyone interested in various museum exhibits. The building itself is really striking and in addition to that houses several very well curated exhibitions. We came for the video game museum, but ended up checking almost everything they had. For the 15€ entrance fee this was stellar value for the money!
All the exhibitions have English translations everywhere, so visitors outside the country don't need to feel being left out.
The building is very easy to navigate and all the facilities are clean. The staff at the entrance was polite. As a whole the experience was highly recommended.
The only tiny annoyance was the cafeteria at the center of the building, with a 0.5l soda costing 5€, which is a highway robbery.
This place completely surpassed our expectations. It had the superheroes exhibition which was really cool. The games exhibition was highly entertaining and brought back plenty of childhood memories. Plenty of different gaming consoles and games for everyone to try. The minerals exhibition was also really cool. We stayed for about 2 hours but definitely could have stayed much longer if not for hunger pangs. Language-wise, it was pretty accommodating. There were QR codes which you could scan to learn more. Would definitely come back again!

What a fun and eclectic museum! It’s got something for everyone — from incredibly lifelike wildlife dioramas (some of them are scarily realistic 👀), to sparkling gemstones, Marvel superheroes 🦸♂️, Finnish history, and even a whole section dedicated to Finland’s rock ‘n roll scene 🎶🇫🇮.
Best part? Fridays are free for certain exhibitions — definitely worth planning around if you're looking to visit on a budget!
There’s also a cozy restaurant and a gift shop on-site, so you can grab a bite or pick up something cool after exploring. Great place to spend a few hours — kids and adults alike will find something to enjoy.

There are very enjoyable interactive games in the museum. The employees are irritable as if they haven't had enough sleep. Many people were there with their children, and they probably find it just as fun as the adults. There was even the Super Mario game. You can lock your belongings in the box at the entrance

The Finlayson Area in Tampere is a historically significant landmark, originally established as a wool fabric factory in the 1820s. Over time, it has transformed into a vibrant recreational space with an old-fashioned European charm. Historic area. Factory that helped Tampere grow to what it's today. They built it on top of the nearby rapids. Nowadays it contains a cinema, bars, restaurants, museums. You can walk through towards the Stable yard. I liked the tall chimney and the contrast with the rainbow floor.
Loads of history. Good selection of restaurants and cafes, one on the roof also these days.

I have been here for first time, got attracted by everything here
I think this place is the area where you can find the iconic place with old fashioned style, European before 20 centuries. The place has many restaurants, if I count it correctly. There is also a spy museum, but outside of the Finlayson area. Overall, this place is good and you can visit there directly by walking around six minutes from Keskustori trem station.
Finlayson area is old and historic place with a lot of activities to do whether you wanna go to the movies or visit the worlds first spy museum, highly recommend 👍🏻

This is one thing very noticeable about tampere the level of industrial buildings here that have been converted in a very pleasing way.

Massive! Busy, it's always busy. It's also a great place to find foreign language magazines that may not be available anywhere else in Tampere.
Once you can get passed the initial scrum of customers that always seems to build up around the entrances at the front (Hämeenkatu) and from the indoor market hall which is next door, the other floors are much easier to navigate.
Special mention to the food hall! Wow? Wow! 👍🏻👍🏻

It was very reasonable and delicious. It was gluten free.
Enter through the south entrance, take the left hallway all the way to the back. You’ll find a normal looking restaurant that looks very local.
Ask for the black sausage, potatoes without the blue cheese(unless that’s your preference) and beet mayo salad.
Sit down and have your mind blown.
If I go to Tampere again, it will be because I want to eat exactly that, there.

Tampere-talo Oy, established in 1990, stands as a beacon of culture and creativity in Tampere. This minimalist congress and concert hall is not only the largest venue of its kind in the Nordics but also hosts an array of exhibitions and international performances. A highlight within this vibrant space is the unique Moomin Museum, dedicated to the beloved characters created by Tove Jansson.
This place usually has many events that you can visit especially when you are a citizen in Tampere. If I am not wrong you could find the orchestra event and attend to hear good classical music. For, I visit here to see many exhibitions especially related to kid's activities where they have a dinosaur park and VR exhibition and in this place, you could visit the Moomin museum. The place you will not regret.

Parking pricey, and visited the Howe exhibition for lotr and it was ok, but way overpriced, framing was very glossy, too packed full of art. Then when you asked for water it is not allowed because they have some money making idea behind the centre. If you really love lotr and are into art then maybe try. Also the history link to Kalevala Finnish art was only seen in 1 artwork, which is a copy and not real. Overall for the money and what was displayed and the overall experience it was lacking. Also they sting you 2eu if you don’t buy in advance another money making trick as you can’t buy online for the same day morning any anyway, when you are going to see art you want to have a tactile experience, that’s the reason you are going? Hypocrisy at its best.
I visited the Van Gogh exhibition and had a meaningful time reflecting on his life. Although the exhibition was a bit short, it didn’t feel overwhelming, and the layout of the space was well done.
A beautiful facility with the largest hall in Finland that has amazing acoustics and comfortable seating. Staff was efficient and cordial and went to great lengths to fix my ticketing situation.
Really bad wc, there is no newborn care wc or room separately and you have to breastfeed child basically in toilet. Not to mention that wc is unisex and not enough room. Never seen such bad wc design in Finland.
I've attended Tampere talo for music concerts and exhibitions in the past. Last Saturday it was my first conference there (Maestro room). It was a really pleasant day topped by an exceptional food from the in-house restaurant. Thumbs up!

I stumbled my way through kauppatori not having any idea what I wanted for lunch. Something about the atmosphere and intimate setting drew me in. But my god, hands down best sushi I’ve had in Finland and possibly ever. Each piece might not look perfect but I can see each individual piece of sushi was made with love. Every bite was fantastic. I can’t wait to come back here!

This is the first time i visited Umami since the former chef/owner left last month to pursue other dreams. Knowing transitions are never easy, I allowed some weeks to settle in for the new operator.
First dissapointment came on payment. Lunchcards do not work anymore, so bye bye on saving taxes while eating.
I got my order very quickly, maybe 1/3 of the average waiting time. but since another customer who was there before me, got his lunch same time as me, i started to suspect if some of the dishes were prepared and stored before my arrival. Formerly I could always expect that the dishes are prepared after order is made, which is understandably time consuming.
First taste on salmon nigiri revealed that the rise was noticeably dry, hard and untasty compared to the former chef's creations. The fish tasted good as usual, but some of the new additions with egg and sesame tasted quite odd. In general everything but the sweet tamago/creme brulee was hindered by sub par quality rise.
Also the composition of the sushi's looked like pretty rushed compared to the fine artistry on previous visits. so there goes the aestethics as well.
Regrettably the Umami I knew for years is gone for now. The quality/price ratio cannot be justified anymore, unless major improvements are made.
The sushi is very fresh and tasty, but the miso soup is a bit weak in flavor.
The most important thing (in my opinion), is that they put too much homemade sauce in the sushi, which is kind of a pity because it hides a bit the really good taste of the fresh salmon.
The homemade ginger they served was delicious, salmon and rice were tender and fresh.
Probably my favourite place to eat in Tampere. Everything is made directly on site, very good quality-price balance

Quite disappointing. Everything in the burger was mushy and soft. Would've liked some charring on the burger patty and buns to bring some crispy texture. I suppose the flavour was decent though. The atmosphere is not very relaxing, though that's true everywhere in Kauppahalli.
One of the best burger places in Tampere. I used to eat here and order from them a lot when they had the Smash Lamb burger. It’s unfortunate that they removed it from the menu, as it was great.
I visited a couple of days ago and had the Hawaiian BBQ Burger – it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the burger was juicy and fresh. Definitely coming back for more!

Oh my... What an amazing burger place. Love the ohana burger and can't wait to try the KFC burger. This place can be crowded during lunch rush hour but other than that it's cozy little place to enjoy a gourmet burger. Friendly and warm service, I highly recommend for d any one who is looking for a great meal for an affordable price. FYI... there is kids meal also in the menu.

Tried their chicken burger and I have to say that I was really enthusiast to find such a moist and soft fried chicken. It takes skills to do it. Not 5 stars yet because I will go back and try different items from their menu. Location is really good, good atmosphere and surely they know what to do in the kitchen. Highly recommended.

I ordered a pizza from this restaurant, and it was absolutely disgusting. This was, without a doubt, the worst pizza I’ve ever had.
I ordered a pizza with meat toppings ( didn't choose any cheese when ordering) and it came full of cheap sticky thick cheese, really thick layer that no one can actually eat it. It was the most disgusting food i had to eat ever. I had to take off most of toppings stuck in 1cm cheese layer. I don't know where does he get the idea that he can send me a maximum unhealthy 'pizza'. Uneducated 'chef'. Waste of money!!
PS: Reason why I just ordered from them was that they have 8.8 score in Wolt which is misleading, here everyone is complaining.

Called to the place and the they said the delivery time to my address was 30min as they told. After waiting 40min I called back asking how long it would take. Got answer it’s on the way. 50mins from the first call they call back to me saying its only cash because of network problems. The guy comes to my house after one hour saying pay or he will leave. …He left without any payment.

Came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Dishes were good, but not worth the price. The bone marrow was tasteless… the filet mignon was good, the aged entrecôte was ‘ok’….. all steaks were supposed to be medium minus but they were more rare… too rare for my taste.

Came here for a date night with my partner 🤗 It was a great choice, we decided to share a meet plate consistenting of horse, entrecôte, and beef tenderloin with sides of fries and horseradish potato's. It was nice, simple and very delicious 🤌
If you are sensitive to lights in places, I will give a small warning as the overhead lights tended to change brightness throughout the evening. Didn't bother us but it might bother some. We were sat upstairs for reference.
This is one of the best steakhouses in Finland although it is quite young and bustling.
The place age its own meat and offers amazing cuts in the best grilling technics. We ordered 3 different types of meat, 3 starters and all possible side dishes.
The meat and the starters are the crown jewels. It had premium quality and great grilling. The side dishes and the sauces (and we ordered all of them) were so so.
The only one worth mentioning was the cauliflower which has amazing peanut sauce.

The food here was definitely very high level and also the service was quite good and fast it was not perfect they forgot to bring us water several times and also napkins, but it was not critical and they also helped us with the choice of dishes and portions. They really know what they are doing, that the cooks work. It is just very fast and all the dishes are incredibly tasty. Honestly it was probably one of the best meats I have eaten.The bill for two came to about 100 euros. In my opinion, this is a normal amount for such an establishment, which is also located in the city center.
The food was incredible. Best stake I had in my life. And the water's recommendations were delicious. The service was great, we were recommended some nice wine pairings with the food we had. I would definitely come back to dine here.
