The Moomin Museum in Tampere is a delightful and unique destination that draws thousands of visitors annually. It is the only museum in the world dedicated to the beloved Moomin characters from Finnish children's books. The museum offers an immersive experience, retelling the entire story of the Moomins, from their adventures during the Great Flood to their mysterious encounters at the lighthouse.
Absolutely a MUST visit. An incredibly well crafted, constructed, creative museum that’s not only so very enjoyable for every Moomin fan but also for those (like me) who are not that familiar with the the characters, the books or the history. It was s sad joy to experience!!

We really enjoyed our time with my friends. Lots of fun and interesting stories. But our most favourite part is when we had the chance to create our own art with my friends. That was very fun!
Dill V — Google review
I went with my wife, and I loved seeing how happy she was while reliving her childhood through the memories she found in each of the different Moomin drawings, sculptures, and models. The museum is very beautiful and much larger than I expected. They don’t allow video recording, but you can take photos. Highly recommended for people who like Moomin, and for those who don’t as well. We made a video about Tampere in case you’d like to see it; it also includes some photos from the museum, but it’s mainly about the city. J&G Vlogs

We visited the Moomin Museum today, and it felt like stepping into a quiet, magical world just when we needed a soft moment. After all the stress and noise of daily life, walking through Tove Jansson’s illustrations and seeing the tiny details of the Moomin stories felt comforting and almost nostalgic. The atmosphere was calm, warm, and full of little wonders that made us slow down and smile. It was a gentle reminder that even small, peaceful places can make a day feel lighter.
Marilyn G — Google review
This was last minute plan for me, but I must say, it is the highlight of my trip. It is really place for all ages ,even when I was scared that it is maybe only for kids. Very interactive and I felt amazing there. I love the framed original sketches , also learned some things from the exposition descriptions...I will not spoil more. As artist myself , I will probably visit again when I'm in Finland. I recomend :)
Ivana C — Google review
It's took me 2 hours to look at every single artworks here. So amazing! Especially, I love this part "Always full of life, it is a place where everyone is free to be exactly who they are".
John P — Google review
We had a wonderful time! One of the highlights for me was the interactive art area, being able to create your own drawings made the experience even more special. It’s a space that truly welcomes the whole family. The life-size Moominhouse was absolutely fantastic and full of delightful details. If you're going at a steady pace, you can see the whole museum in about 45 minutes. Personally, I found the ticket price (around 15 euros) a bit on the high side for the overall length of the visit, but it's still a charming and magical experience, especially for Moomin fans.
Humberto D — Google review
The Moomin Museum is a beautifully curated tribute to Tove Jansson’s work. The original illustrations, detailed Moominhouse model, and atmospheric lighting really bring the stories to life. It’s engaging for adults and older kids, with creative workshops and a cozy reading corner. It’s a must-visit for any Moomin lover.

Evangelical church
Tampere Cathedral, also known as the church of St. John, is a striking example of National Romantic art-nouveau architecture. Completed in 1907, this imposing granite-built church features three steeples and red-tiled roofs that contrast with its subtle stone facade, exuding understated elegance. Inside, visitors can admire controversial frescoes and stained glass created by Hugo Simberg, depicting naked childlike apostles and dreamlike scenes.
The colours of the glass with the open plan architecture makes this a welcoming and deep place of reflection. Highly recommend you come here..
Steven W — Google review
Truly one of the most amazing churches I have seen both outside and inside. From the outside it looks like a medieval castle, and from the inside it is a true work of art. It houses one of the most famous paintings in Finland, the Fallen Angel, as well as another striking one with a skull. The interior has many unusual elements that make you curious to learn more about its history and culture. We entered just after a wedding, and within five minutes we could go in without any problem. Everything was spotless. You can also walk up from one of the sides and admire the church from that angle, and it is completely free. We were lucky to hear someone playing the piano during our visit, which made the atmosphere even more special. A must-see in Tampere, and perhaps even in all of Finland.

Magnificent! So pretty! The entrance way is so magical! We weren't inside the building due to wedding ceremony but I would like to visit some other time!

One of the most beautiful cathedrals I have been to. The exterior is built from stone. There are 2000 seats inside. Astonishing design.

I had the opportunity to visit this beautiful cathedral whilst visiting for one of Tarja's Christmas shows. Finland has beautiful architecture throughout its country. Tarja's show made this environment even more surreal.

Quite special! Untypical architecture (I think it can be very nice and cozy inside there when in winter). I was at 16.30 o clock there on a July day and was for half an hour-all alone. There was no admission fee.

Warm atmosphere that feels both historic and authentic. You can find everything from fresh bread and pastries that smell divine to high-quality meats and cheeses. And the local produce? It’s fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. if you’re ever in Tampere, this market hall is a must-visit. It’s more than just a place to shop it's a real slice of Finnish life. Highly recommended! Free parking (1h) is available in Sokos.

This restaurant means meatball restaurant. I ate lunch there It was very reasonable and delicious. It was gluten free.
Jo L — Google review
Enter through the south entrance, take the left hallway all the way to the back. You’ll find a normal looking restaurant that looks very local. Ask for the black sausage, potatoes without the blue cheese(unless that’s your preference) and beet mayo salad. Sit down and have your mind blown. If I go to Tampere again, it will be because I want to eat exactly that, there.
Zakk E — Google review
Amazing, really cute and lot of food. A definite recommendation for every food lover!
Thomas K — Google review
Very quaint market hall with lots of history. It's almost 125 years old and they primarily sell food. There are multiple little restaurants, cafes, and shops selling produce and animal products, definitely check them all out. There are a few shops for other stuff but that's only 1 lane on the south east side. I really enjoyed strolling around the hall, it's very well preserved and just has a great atmosphere. This is a must visit when coming to Tampere, I will definitely return when I'm ever back in this city.

It’s such a small place, it takes you about 10-15 minutes to visit everything here. And you don’t get to see something that special. Is ok for enjoying with the kids but, that is about it! A little bit disappointed.
Rusu C — Google review
The aquarium is fine, not very big so it can be seen in around 1 hour. There are stairs and no elevator so a pram was not possible to be used for our child. Downside is all information about the animals is written in Finnish, except for a few facts here and there. Be wary, there’s parking in the amusement park premises, but it costs 18€ independently of the length of your stay, which is crazy expensive!
Francesc — Google review
It's a really nice aquarium with a lot of animals. They have the "stars", animals that have been there for a long time and have a good story behind them, super interesting to know. The only problem is that it's not too big but it's amazing and they have a lot of different species!!
Daniel G — Google review
The aquarium consist of two floors with about 30 exhibits. Some of which are terrariums and paludariums. Sadly many of the tanks are quite cramped with fish. They have a sturgeon that is barely able to swim in circles. Other tanks are in dire need of a proper cleaning. Okayish for young children to look at the animals. The price was €10 and you're done in around 1 hour.
Cyclonit — Google review
Small but cute and enjoyable place. Very good addition to the rest, which makes a good combination for making the day fun for everybody.
Tommi W — Google review
Quite nice place, not the biggest aquarium but if you take the time to thoroughly look at every exhibition, and read all the information about every fish, youll be plenty entertained. Good experience, some fascinating fishes.

Nestled in the vibrant city of Tampere, Finland, the Lenin Museum stands as a remarkable testament to history. This unique museum is not only dedicated to Vladimir Lenin but also marks the historic site where he and Joseph Stalin held their secret meeting in 1905—an event that played a pivotal role in shaping the Soviet Union.
I went to Tampere to visit the political history. You can go through the political history of Finland . The building really look like an old one and the decoration is literally like earlier times and ambience is like past years of history. Some of the building in Kolkata during early 90s were like this building. The museum is a must visit for the history lovers. Very good facts are highlighted. Staffs working there are very polite and kind. Even one can purchase souvenirs related the political history. It's brilliantly arranged. The ticket price is very low. Like 5-6 euros. "The only L enin Museum in the Western world is located in Tampere Workers' Hall, where L enin and S talin met each other for the first time in 1905." Soon it's getting closed( as per the news- Nov 3, 2024). "The Finnish Lenin Museum has a unique story. This is where Lenin and Stalin met for the first time, in a secret meeting of the Bolsheviks in December 1905.In the very same rooms now locates the Lenin Museum." "The museum has a permanent exhibition with material related to Lenin's life and the history of the Soviet Union. It also organizes varying exhibitions on different themes." "In April 2024, the museum announced that it would close at the end of the year and reopen in February 2025 under the name Nootti, in reference to the Note Crisis in 1961 between Finland and the Soviet Union. The museum's director, Kalle Kallio, said that the changes were meant to reflect the changes in Finland–Russia relations and added that the museum's old name did not "do justice" to its exhibits."
Arijit D — Google review
They say "no war" and put Ukrainian flag. But there are too many wars all over the world? This museum is against the war only if it hits Christians.
Said M — Google review
Small, but quite unique. Worth a visit if you're into history and want to learn more about the most important historical event of the last century. I've got extra insight into the perspective from Finn's about Lenin and his life in Finland. The exposition also includes a real-life reproduction of a Soviet era apartment from Estonia.
DMINATOR — Google review
We spend 2 truly interesting hours here! The museum is about Lenin; his connection with Finland, Tampere and this building; Stalin; Soviet history to nowadays. There was so many text on the screens, I feel like I read a book! Now I feel like filled in the gaps in understanding the history of the Soviet Union. And thanks for mentioning all political prisoners and victims of dictators here.
Marina — Google review
What a wonderfully curated museum with such a modern, yet classically meaningful approach to the nuanced subject, that is the Soviet Union and revolution. What’s more is that the location of this historical gateway is extensively relevant to the subject, in that this specific building was where foundational discussions took place, and important clandestine meetings were held prior to revolution. I had such fun learning about this from the Finnish perspective, and I will definitely return as I hadn’t enough time to read through all the literature provided. Expect to spend about 2-3 hours if you like to read a lot, and consider bringing some water and a snack along. Also, invest in the Museokortti if you’re an avid musem/art exhibition visitor.
Juandré S — Google review
Another must-see place in Tampere. This museum used to be the place to visit by the Soviet tourists but it also serves as document of Finnish history. The museum has renewed the exhibition in 2016 and it offers also facts and critical views of the Finnish-Soviet history. The place is not large so easy also for a quick visit. Includes nice little museum shop.
Mittikset R — Google review
Nice historical museum, tells story of Lenin, Soviet Union and relations with Finland. There are informative panels with small portions of text in Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian. Feels so good to go back to our modern reality after visiting this museum ;-)

The Sara Hildén Art Museum, also known as Sara Hildenin Taidemuseo, is a prominent art destination in Finland. It features a diverse collection of over 4,500 contemporary artworks from both Finnish and international artists. The museum's modernist architecture by Pekka Ilveskoski seamlessly blends with the natural surroundings, creating a serene setting for art appreciation. Visitors can enjoy not only the indoor exhibits but also outdoor sculptures on the museum grounds.
We visited Heikki Marila exhibition that was well curated and perfect fit for the wonderful brutalist concrete building by architect Pekka Ilveskoski. There was an audio guide giving background information for the works and reducing the amount of typical texts on walls. The café was modest but had exhibits and a wonderful view of the lake. The sculpture garden outside is nice in the summer.

This was impressive .. but did expect more from yhis place so I feel like I was let down. Though the museum wasn’t that big, the art pieces there are beautiful.. also the plain concrete wall behind made those pieces stood out even more.
Sulata D — Google review
This moderately small museum has very interesting exhibitions, the latest being WE by Thomas Houseago and also smaller exhibitions by Nick Cave and Brad Pitt. It's a place to see in itself, it is situated by the lake Nasijarvi in Tampere. It's about 20 minute walk from the central square of Tampere or you can take a bus to get there.
M M — Google review
A small 2 storey museum with a cafe located a little outside the city centre. The museum was showcasing a temporary exhibition by THOMAS HOUSEAGO – WE WITH NICK CAVE & BRAD PITT. The art and sculptures featured were abstract. It was a curiosity to experience and contemplate the tempest of Brad Pitt in his art pieces e.g. the acrylic blocks of bullet sprays slowed and frozen in time. The life of the devil conveyed in a series of porcelain pieces from birth to death was unusual since the devil is more populary accepted as immortal. Brings to mind the Song by Joan Osborn "One of Us". We would have liked to have seen the permanent artworks of local artists collected by Sara Hilden but sadly none were on display. The visit took less than 2 hours, a part of the time was spent at the café. FOOD AT SARA'S CAFÉ: 👍👍👍👍 Cosy café with really delicious, creamy chocolate cake and good brewed coffee. The museum is water facing, has very limited but free parking. Place is wheelchair friendly.

Not crowded at all, so that was great!! It had a nice small selection of modern art pieces, which we mostly checked out because some of them where made by Brad Pitt 😅 Quite interesting, it's just behind Sarkaniemi so it's easy to get there. Hatanpää Park Arboretum is a picturesque and expansive park surrounding the historic Hatanpää Manor, located just a few kilometers from Tampere city center. The arboretum spans about four hectares and offers delightful waterside paths, a charming rose garden, and inviting summer cafes. The neoclassical Hatanpää Manor, once home to Hans Henrik Boije, adds an elegant touch to the landscape with its English architectural style.
Very beautiful scenery in white during winter but you'll not have beautiful roses and green trees as there's a free small rose garden. It will be 2 totally different views but both uniquely beautiful. I've not personally visited during summer but I can imagine how different it will be.

Sauna Restaurant Kuuma is a new and trendy addition to Tampere's impressive collection of public saunas. The establishment offers two cozy and intimate saunas, one of which features a unique smoked aroma for an unforgettable experience. With its picturesque views of the city and river, as well as a charming outdoor area and comfortable indoor space adorned with warm lighting and plush sofas, Kuuma provides the perfect setting for relaxation. The friendly staff ensures that guests have access to excellent amenities.
Sauna Restaurant Kuuma: Stunning Views and Cozy Ambiance (Sauna Optional!) As a first-time visitor to Tampere, Sauna Restaurant Kuuma came highly recommended, and it certainly didn't disappoint, even without experiencing the sauna itself! Located right by the water, the views from Kuuma are absolutely breathtaking. The cityscape of Tampere, reflected beautifully on the lake, provides a stunning backdrop, especially as the light changes. It’s a fantastic spot to simply sit and soak in the Finnish scenery. While the name suggests a focus on the sauna experience, the restaurant and cafe areas are equally inviting. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with a modern yet rustic charm. I opted to skip the sauna on this occasion, but found the restaurant to be a perfect place to relax and unwind. My primary reason for visiting (besides the view!) was to try their highly praised hot chocolate, and it lived up to the hype. Rich, creamy, and perfectly comforting, it was the ideal beverage to enjoy while admiring the panorama. The menu also looked promising, with various dishes that seemed to highlight local ingredients. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more pleasant. Even if you're not planning to indulge in the sauna, Sauna Restaurant Kuuma is well worth a visit for its spectacular views, cozy ambiance, and delicious hot chocolate. It’s a tranquil escape right in the heart of Tampere, and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a scenic and relaxing break. I left feeling refreshed and with some beautiful photos!

Great sauna experience. There are 3 altogether. Changing rooms are a bit cramped, but there is a really nice relaxing room. We also ate in the restaurant and it was quite good.

37th Finnish sauna review. Stunning location on the water. 3 saunas. 2 wood fired, 1 savusauna. Savusauna was the highlight and where I kept going back. The löyly in there was so soft while the general heat and lämpömassa was spot on. Easily the hottest of the 3 but also the softest. Perfect.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is amazing. The white fish and risotto were good I liked the burger patties as it was cooked on coal, but the buns were burned, and fries were so dry. I forgot to take a photo from deserts, the chocolate cake was super dry.

Delicious food for a reasonable price! The place is located by the water with big windows and great lighting. We started with a salad made of couscous and we had salmon with mashed carrots as the main dish, which were very very good. Definitely a great experience in Tampere!

We enjoyed some lovely drinks and sauna with a group of my friend! The place was very aesthetical and inviting, staff wonderful especially the man who made my cloudy white cocktail :) Sauna views were 10/10

I arrived with my partner on a Friday noon for the sauna, but we stayed for lunch. We did not wait and rented some things we were missing such as flipflops for a few Euros. The facilities are clean (though the benches were wet in the saunas). The atmosphere is very cosy and informal. The food was very rich but lunch includes a great fresh salad as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. We had a great time and might even come back during our stay.

Museum
The Tampere Art Museum, housed in a charming redbrick building designed by renowned architect CL Engel, is Finland's third-oldest art museum. It features an annual Young Artist of the Year exhibition showcasing talented visual artists under 35, highlighting the evolution of contemporary Finnish art. The museum offers a lovely selection of modern paintings, Finnish classics like Gallen-Kallela's works, and modern installations.
My visit to the Tampere Art Museum was a really enjoyable and memorable experience. The museum itself is intimate but well-organized, with a great balance between showcasing local Finnish art and bringing in international exhibitions. It feels like a space where art is treated with a lot of care and thoughtfulness, and that translates into how the exhibitions are curated and presented. One of the things I appreciated most was the atmosphere. The museum isn’t too large, which means you can take your time with each piece without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The layout makes it easy to navigate, and the lighting and spacing allow the art to really stand out. There’s a sense of calm and focus that makes you feel fully immersed in what you’re looking at. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the museum provides clear information in both Finnish and English, which made it easy for me as an international visitor. I also liked that they offer guided tours and additional context for the exhibitions it adds depth to the experience if you want to go beyond just looking at the art. Beyond the exhibitions, the museum shop is worth a visit too. It has a nice collection of art books, postcards, and unique souvenirs that reflect the spirit of the museum. There’s also a strong sense of connection to the local art scene, which I found refreshing it feels like a place that really supports and celebrates both contemporary and classic art.
Rahman — Google review
This surreal art museum defies explanation—a labyrinth of dreams, illusions, and distorted realities. Each room feels like stepping into a different subconscious realm, where logic unravels, and the impossible becomes tangible. Paintings melt into sculptures, shadows play tricks on the mind, and interactive installations invite visitors to question their own perception. The space itself feels alive, shifting between beauty and the uncanny. Whether you leave inspired or unsettled, one thing is certain: reality won’t feel quite the same after.
Mercede E — Google review
I have visited the Tampere Art Museum twice and seen two exhibitions: “Tuula Lehtinen - With Pleasure” and “HYPER.” The “HYPER” exhibition was particularly interesting and captivating, well-curated with a lot of detailed information to read. The “HYPER” exhibition will be available until September 29, 2024. The museum is rather small, spread across three floors. For the “HYPER” exhibition, only the two upper floors were used. With the “Tuula Lehtinen - With Pleasure” exhibition, there was an installation by Charles Sandison on the ground floor. Highly recommended to visit!

If you have one day in Tampere, this museum is a great place to spend about an hour. It features a fascinating collection of surrealist works that are visually striking and thought-provoking. Admission is €13 per adult, including an audio guide.

Great art exhibition. The sculptures are really thought provoking and makes you wonder about the concepts behind the origin of the arts. However, the exhibition is very small that is going on for hyper realistic art.

Great museum! Very accessible for wheelchair users. The ramp is not steep, the elevator is spacious. Well curated, could use some more extensive explanations of the artworks, but that might be personal preference. Or maybe subtitles like "about the artist" and "about the artwork"!

Italian restaurant
Pizzeria Napoli is a laid-back eatery in Tampere, known for its red-and-white tablecloths and an extensive menu featuring over 100 pizzas with unique toppings like octopus. Situated on Aleksanterinkatu, it's the oldest pizzeria in town and has garnered a cult following over the years. In addition to traditional pizzas, Napoli offers delectable pan pizzas, gluten-free options, lactose-free cheese, pasta dishes, and salads.
The best pizza place in town. The place gives a real Italian vibe, very friendly staff with a smile on their face which I love and the delicious food. After ordering you can have a salad which is free and can prepare by yourself. You can actually eat a good salad portion. You don’t have to wait long hours for your food because this restaurant doesn’t make you wait and hungry. I had the pork pizza and it satisfied my birthday dinner. Highly recommending this place!

I am huge pizza lover and especially love deep dish pizza. To my understanding this may be the only restaurant in Finland (apart from Pizza Hut) that offers deep dish / pan pizza. I love the fact that you can create your own by selecting 3 choices through the fantasia option. You won’t get the monster thick Chicago style here but a really strong pan pizza. Really enjoyed it and will definitely come back

Napoli (Tampere) We went for lunch and tried the Pesto Chicken Pasta, Arrabbiata Chicken Pasta, and the Pollo Mexicano Pizza — all were absolutely fantabulous. The flavors were rich and authentic,I honestly forgot I was in Finland and not in Italy. There was a long queue, but totally worth the wait. If you’re in Tampere and craving real Italian food, this place delivers. Staffs were also very friendly and cooperative.

I Tried the spaghetti Carbonara and my sister tried the spaghetti and meatballs. The carbonara was ok and my sister didn't really like the meatballs. We went back the following night to try the chicken BBQ pizza and it was good. The salad bar was great! I would go back for pizza.

I absolutely loved my visit to Pizzeria Napoli! The sheer variety over 250 pizzas on the menu, means there’s something for everyone. I tried the Quattro Selvaggina and the Burrata it was delicious; the toppings were generous, and the crust had just the right crispness. The salad bar is a perfect starter while waiting, and the staff were cheerful and attentive. Prices felt fair, especially considering the central location and lively atmosphere. Will definitely be returning!

Located at the top of the iconic Näsinneula tower in Tampere, Ravintola Näsinneula offers a dining experience with breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The restaurant is known for its Finnish cuisine, using seasonal ingredients and locally sourced produce to create delicious dishes. With a rotating dining room, guests can enjoy a lively panorama of Tampere while indulging in set menus, à la carte options, and quality wines.

Had three course diner. Every dish was ok, but nothing more than that. All courses looked better than tasted. Flavours were pretty basic, and nothing that I couldn't recreate at home. Service wise staff did the bare minimum in professional manner, but nothing more. I also found service quite slow. They had, even on lunch, non-printed extra charges for tap water and tea, which I always find a bit misleading and disappointing. Views were excellent. That's a definitely the best part, although you could see the views for free from a floor below the restaurant. If you wish to take guests to see city from above while dining, this is a decent (and only) option. Otherwise I would go somewhere else, and maybe visit separately to see the view. However, Pyynikki observation tower is a better option for views on my opinion.

Finlandia and the children's menu were both excellent! Especially the starters and dessert were one of the bests I have had for quite a while. Ravinteli Huber is a top-notch steak restaurant in Finland, offering some of the finest quality meat in the country. The focus here is on sharing and social dining in a Mediterranean style. While it's known for its steaks and meaty offerings, even vegetarian diners have been pleasantly surprised. The restaurant ages its own meat and excels in grilling techniques, resulting in tender, flavorful cuts that are grilled to perfection.

Came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Dishes were good, but not worth the price. The bone marrow was tasteless… the filet mignon was good, the aged entrecôte was ‘ok’….. all steaks were supposed to be medium minus but they were more rare… too rare for my taste. Bernaise sauce was ok, peppercorn sauce good but not enough, could have had more in the tiny serving dish….. It wasn’t a bad experience but I would Spend my 200€ elsewhere. Probs not a repeat customer.

Came here for a date night with my partner 🤗 It was a great choice, we decided to share a meet plate consistenting of horse, entrecôte, and beef tenderloin with sides of fries and horseradish potato's. It was nice, simple and very delicious 🤌 If you are sensitive to lights in places, I will give a small warning as the overhead lights tended to change brightness throughout the evening. Didn't bother us but it might bother some. We were sat upstairs for reference.

This is one of the best steakhouses in Finland although it is quite young and bustling. The place age its own meat and offers amazing cuts in the best grilling technics. We ordered 3 different types of meat, 3 starters and all possible side dishes. The meat and the starters are the crown jewels. It had premium quality and great grilling. The side dishes and the sauces (and we ordered all of them) were so so. The only one worth mentioning was the cauliflower which has amazing peanut sauce. Visited again - try the cabbage side dish, it's amazing!

The food here was definitely very high level and also the service was quite good and fast it was not perfect they forgot to bring us water several times and also napkins, but it was not critical and they also helped us with the choice of dishes and portions. They really know what they are doing, that the cooks work. It is just very fast and all the dishes are incredibly tasty. Honestly it was probably one of the best meats I have eaten. The bill for two came to about 100 euros. In my opinion, this is a normal amount for such an establishment, which is also located in the city center.

Näsinneula is a must-visit attraction in Tampere, Finland. It features a theme park with 34 rides, a planetarium, an aquarium, and an observation tower that offers stunning panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. The tower also houses a fine-dining rotating restaurant where visitors can enjoy exquisite meals while taking in the ever-changing views as the restaurant completes its full revolution every 45 minutes.
As a first-time visitor seeking a bird's-eye perspective of Tampere, Näsinneula was an absolute highlight. Dominating the city skyline, this iconic observation tower delivers truly breathtaking panoramic views that extend far beyond the urban landscape. From the top, you get a stunning appreciation for Tampere's unique geography, with its numerous lakes shimmering in the sunlight, the Tammerkoski rapids snaking through the city, and the surrounding forests stretching towards the horizon. The elevator ride to the top is quick and smooth, building anticipation for the vista that awaits. The observation deck offers ample space to walk around and take in the 360-degree panorama. Informative signs point out key landmarks, helping you orient yourself and appreciate the city's layout. It's fascinating to see how the industrial areas blend with the natural beauty from this vantage point. For an even more enhanced experience, the revolving restaurant at the top is a fantastic option. Imagine enjoying a meal or a drink while the entire cityscape slowly rotates around you – it's a truly memorable way to soak in the views. While I opted for just the observation deck on this visit, the restaurant is definitely on my list for a future trip. Näsinneula provides a unique and unforgettable way to experience Tampere. It offers a sense of scale and perspective that you simply can't get from ground level. The views are simply spectacular, making it a must-visit attraction for anyone wanting to truly appreciate the beauty and layout of Tampere. It's an iconic landmark for a reason!

Näsinneula Restaurant offers a stunning setting with breathtaking views over Lake Näsijärvi and the nearby amusement park. The atmosphere is truly unique, thanks to the revolving tower and the elegant interior. The food was very good, well-prepared and nicely presented. Service was smooth and professional throughout the visit. One downside was the restroom facilities — they were quite small for the number of guests, and the soap dispenser was broken during our visit. Overall, a solid dining experience in a beautiful location. Definitely worth a visit for the views alone!

To get to the highest point, you need to go upstairs to a restaraunt which is fine dining. The restaraunt slowly moves around and you can enjoy amazing views. The area below it is nice and has binocycles you can pay with coins to use. Nice views and the elevator is very fast, your ears might get "locked", so be aware of that.

Great views and nice experience overall. The rotating tower gives you a full 360° look at Tampere, and it’s cool to just sit and watch the city slowly shift around you. They give you a complimentary drink with the ticket, which was a pleasant surprise. Only downside is the price, it feels a bit high for what’s essentially a short visit unless you’re planning to eat at the restaurant. Still, worth checking out at least once, especially if you're new to the city.
Humberto D — Google review
Great experience, you can see so far away and it's very tall. The elevator was very cool too!
Oliver K — Google review
The observation deck is amazing (not free to access, though) but it is a very stunning experience. We went to the restaurant for a fine dining. Everything went okay but mind that you go here mainly for the views rather than for the catering (there were quite a few hiccups including a spilled drink all over the table by the staff). You will not overeat with a full Finlandia menu - no worries if you come not too hungry. Drinks are not cheap by any means. Three spins around the city views completes the experience. Paid 120 per person with drinks. It is fine for a one-time experience, I guess.

Great restaurant. The decor and staff attire is very interesting. There are large windows with views of the park next to the tampere talo. The meals were gorgeous and tasted amazing. They always switch up their menu and keep it interesting! Also the food tastes super fresh and doesn't taste like poor quality or frozen at all. Särkänniemi has really developed over the last 10-20 years as an amusement park. Nowadays it is a world-class place with plenty of things to do, covering all ages from toddlers to adults. I was positively surprised that pricing is still very decent. They don't collect entry fees to the area (the rides cost, of course), and the food is good and reasonably priced.

(Translated by Google) A nice day in August, schools have already started so there was no rush to get to the rides. I haven't been to Särkänniemi in almost 20 years. It was a shame that the ropeway was closed, it would have been a nostalgic experience. I also missed a little something like a ghost train and a house of laughter for adults who can't stand such spinning rides.

Nestled alongside the picturesque Tammerkoski rapids, Restaurant Tampella offers a unique dining experience in a beautifully repurposed textile factory. This trendy venue combines industrial charm with cozy Nordic design, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. The menu is thoughtfully crafted around seasonal ingredients and features classic Finnish dishes that are sure to delight your palate.
One of the best meals we’ve had in a restaurant. High class meat courses- we can recommend both the super tender steak and the pulled lamb. The deserts were also delicious.

I visited this restaurant with a group work. We were a large group hence we got the food a little bit late. The portions were quite small for the price. The food was good enough. Maybe a bit too salty for me. The staff were very friendly and nice and this is always appreciated.
Domna T — Google review
Excellent venue and location right by the rapids. Atmosphere was good and the service was helpful. The food was also very good, but main course, beef cheek was a bit dry (?), maybe because it was such a huge chunk. Need to visit again though, in Summer the location must be even more lovely.

Awesome location for a restaurant! Been here twice and both visits have been good, but the new recipe for tartar is nearly not as good as the previous one. Definitely recommend visiting though!
Valtteri H — Google review
I recently dined at this gem of a restaurant and savored an unforgettable meal. I ordered the 300g grilled marbled beef sirloin, served with bone marrow butter, a rich sauce made from roasted beef bones, a fresh green salad, and roasted truffle potatoes with Comté cheese. The dish was an absolute triumph—every element was perfectly executed. The sirloin was cooked to tender, juicy perfection, with the bone marrow butter adding a decadent depth of flavor. The roasted beef bone sauce was bold yet balanced, elevating the dish to another level. The green salad provided a crisp, refreshing contrast, while the truffle potatoes, infused with the nutty richness of Comté, were an indulgent treat. The service was impeccable—attentive, warm, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The staff made excellent recommendations. The location is equally stunning, with a beautiful ambiance that blends elegance and comfort, making it perfect for a special evening out. I can’t wait to return!

Great food and drinks. Many non alcoholic beer choices. Service is attentive and quick. A couple of veggie and vegan options. Great atmosphere.
Prashant S — Google review
The general impression of the restaurant was not bad, but food was a fail - pike perch was so over-salted, that up to bitter taste (I usually use a good amount of salt in foods), and the portion was SO small, really only one spoon of meshed potatoes and few leaves of salad. I can not and don't like to eat too much, but this time I stayed hungry after eating in the restaurant... My dish with pike perch included also mushrooms, which I asked to replace with any other vegetable (zucchini, carrot etc.), the waitress confirmed, but it wasn't done. So can not recommend this place. Wine and dessert was OK.

Ravintola Kajo is a trendy and innovative restaurant that offers locally sourced, seasonal dishes in a minimalist setting. The restaurant's decor features shelves adorned with glass jars filled with fruits, berries, and herbs used to garnish the dishes. Behind Kajo are experienced chefs who have worked in renowned establishments. The menu 'Ode to Nature' presents bold and entertaining cuisine paired with authentic flavors of wines, sake, and cocktails.
A truly unique and beautiful experience. The food and non-alcoholic drinks tasted like a fresh piece of nature (or, sometimes, like sauna!). I never had anything like that. It's beyond taste, it's an entire feeling. Every bite and sip were a delight to take the time and enjoy slowly, like a curious walk in the forest. Unusual ingredients and unexpected flavors that just work in a surprising and ingenious way. The vegetarian version was just as great as the non-vegetarian one (we took one of each). The service was fantastic and the explanations really helped create a connection with the meaning behind the food. We aren't usually fine diners, but that was definitely worth the money and I'm so happy we spontaneously decided to have our dinner there (we booked on the same day). As a nature and food lover, this was without doubt the most enjoyable restaurant experience I've ever been to. Would love to come back one day. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

The place mostly delivers on all aspects as being the only Michelin-distinguished place in Tampere. Staff is friendly and professional, the menu varies from good to amazing dishes (fish dominates the plates). Some of the wine pairings did not meet the overall experience, though. Overall, good value for money and a good feeling at the end.
Vidas D — Google review
Probably one of the best dinning experience ive ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Every single course was amazing and i was positively suprised by the fact that there was a non alcoholic drinks pairing. The drinks were just the perfect compliment to already amazing courses. Although im sure the wine pairing would also be great. The staff is super nice and they seem to have a great system, not once did we feel like we had to wait long for a dish. Just overall an amazing evening that i can recommend to any foodies looking to dive into the finnish culinary summer. If you can do not look at the menu before and let the menu suprise you.
Quelos ( — Google review
A cozy restaurant on one of the main roads in Tampere. The traffic outside is quite heavy, something that slightly affected the atmosphere. The 10-dish tasting menu this summer was inspired by the Japanese kitchen, and especially some of the fish dishes were amazing. I enjoyed the wine pairing a lot. My wife had the non-alcoholic pairing, and some of them were a bit too weird and didn't really work that well. Service was impeccable - dishes were introduced in detail and with style. Definitely worth a visit!

Great experience. If looking for something else and want taste buds have fun, it's place to go. Plus great service and really good selection of drinks.
Eva S — Google review
Every dish had something special about them and they understood that such a place needs to be an experience and not just taste good or look good. Some of the dishes made your tongue burn a little from the spices but not too much. Others were sweet but not too much. Some had some unexpected consistency or taste but they somehow made it work. Like one thing is to think of mushroom ice cream, but another thing is to make it work. Some were crunchy, some were creamy, some were hard, some were soft and some were all of those combined. To top it off all the ones serving the food did it with enthusiasm and a smile and gave a good explanation.

i love this place! the prices are always reasonable, but Super Mega affordable during happy hour (mon-sat 18-21). the staff is friendly and awesome <3 i'd recommend avoiding the sofa area right next to the bathroom cos if someone takes a really gnarly dump, you'll know. not the bar's fault, they have to take advantage of all the real estate they have, but if you have the choice, choose differently 😗✌️

Extremely bad design, out of fashion interior, wall coloring is so bad, the latest renovation was to remove one wall and remove smoking box. Cheap, good for students. Smelly toilets. And almost no regard for public safety when it comes to spooky deals happening. The owner thinks he has thrown a style and good vibe by putting broken furniture, ripped off carpets. A confusing theme in play, won't recommend anybody at all. Mostly good for hippie inspired generation.

Juho R — Google review
Besides a very nice atmosphere and a very friendly and professional service, there is nothing good to say about the food at this price point - any common Finnish lunch restaurant or ABC gas station could serve something perhaps better. I had the snails as an appetiser and alarm bells rang when they showed up with two single snails, each one inside a dry and chewy mini-bun and soaked in blue cheese to the point the snails couldn't be tasted anymore - 14€ well spent, I guess? As a main course I had the 35€ duck and what a mistake that was: the duck was tasteless, dry, looked like it had been previously cooked and just warmed up, which made it very dry. It also was not seasoned during preparation, so it had absolutely no flavour except for some generic sauce that was hastily dabbed on top. Two very small legs showed up, one worse than the other. As a side dish, some obviously frozen vegetables and some supermarket level couscous. Not a single thing was cooked that evening, which is not what you expect at that price point. Duck was uneatable and after struggling with one dry leg the rest was sent back in. In the end of the meal, instead of apologising and not charging (as is the norm in any decent restaurant) made the great concession of offering a 30% discount on the duck. Needless to say I will never eat there again. Place is ok for some drinks and enjoying the view but the food is definitely sub-par and way overpriced. The nice staff serving at tables deserved a better kitchen.

We recently visited this restaurant and were left very disappointed, especially considering the price. The quality of the food was far below our expectations. The dishes lacked flavor and freshness, and nothing on the menu stood out as worth the price we paid. For the cost, we were expecting a much higher standard of food and service. We won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this restaurant to others looking for good value and quality.

Spent New Year’s here and got to say the experience was amazing. We did not have a table reservation as we spontaneously decided to go and even so on this busy day the staff were able to get us seated quite swiftly. Yeah the staff were amazing and our orders arrived quickly. They even asked if we wanted them to take a picture of us which was very kind of them. The food was wonderful in both taste and appearance, not to mention that the drinks were delicious. With all that and the beautiful view, it was a 10/10 experience.

Absolutely loved the place! The lunch was delicious - coffee and small sweet were included. Service was friendly and one-point. Overall, the atmosphere was great - not too noticeable background music, beautiful interior design, so much nature light coming in from the big windows with stunning views to Tampere city. Would be nice to see the restaurant in the evening lights too. There's some extra on the prices though, but it's reasonable because of the location and views.

Movie theater
Finnkino Plevna is a popular cinema located in an old Finlayson factory in Tampere. The theater has retained some of the factory's original features, adding to its unique charm. It is known for its spacious and comfortable movie theaters, offering a great viewing experience. Visitors can enjoy a variety of snacks and food, as well as fun games before the film starts.
This theater really made the experience enjoyable. I’ve watched Deadpool and Wolverine in 3D here, and yesterday I saw Venom 3. The hall has a lot going for it—starting with an online site and mobile app that makes it super easy to see what’s playing, check showtimes, and pick your seats. You can even pre-order snacks, which is great, and they accept cultural benefits for ticket purchases, which is awesome. The staff here are always really nice and polite, and the place itself is big, clean, and well-maintained, with multiple screens. The snack selection is solid (the popcorn, especially, has a variety of options and tastes really good), and they offer student discounts, which is a nice touch. Inside the theater, the seats are comfortable—not luxury level, but definitely nice enough for a long movie. The sound system is solid, giving you that immersive surround-sound experience, and the screen quality is really vivid and sharp. I’ve seen Deadpool and Wolverine in 3D here, and the 3D quality was pretty good—maybe not IMAX level, but still impressive. The only downside is that they don’t have 3D versions as often as I’d like. Other movies that should be available in 3D just aren’t, which is a shame since the setup here can handle it well. Overall, this theater is a great spot to watch a movie!
Isuru C — Google review
It sure was a unique and a once in a life time experience of booking with the family and discovering that the whole cinema hall was completely empty. So we had like a VIP family moment 😇 Thank you Plevna!
Yacin D — Google review
I like this movie theater quite a lot. It is inside an old Finlayson factory and they left the old factory walls exposed at some parts in the theater hallways. Nice touch! This is the better of the 2 Finnkino movie theaters in Tampere. This is bigger and chairs are more comfortable, even for bigger person. Toilets are ok, sometimes they need bit of cleaning. In the men's side they have installed urinals that save water... And at times, you can smell that! Faucet's are also different than normal, it takes few tries to figure them out. Went to late evening movie but the theater was quite hot (it was +25 C day). When I got out I felt like breath of fresh air when I stepped in to the hallway. This was in one of the smaller theaters. Thid is the reason why I gave just 4 stars. Cons: Expensive (That is to blame Finnkino, not this theater) But you can buy "bulk" tickets, that will bring down the price little bit. If you have sweet tooth, bring your own junk! Candies etc. are NOT cheap in here. Men's bathroom smells bad sometimes.

Despite being relatively quiet, it serves as a boarding point for numerous interstate buses traveling to and from Helsinki and other parts of the country.
Very easy to navigate. Waiting room with shop and toilets. Electronic Arrival/Departure board. Toilets are €1 - can use contactless/card/cash.

Simple practical bus station in the city. You need to be careful and watch out when walking around the platforms as many buses enter and exit continuously. Didn’t get chance to go out & see the inside waiting area of the bus station as most shops were also closed due to ongoing pandemic situation. Many bus companies operating in Finland have their buses arriving here & it’s a colourful sight to see many different buses waiting to pickup and drop off the passengers.

They should allow people to stay in last hours considering many buses arrive around 2/3 AM. I was difficult to stand outside when it was 5C at the middle of night. I don't know how people tolerate it in the winter.

(Translated by Google) We went to the 53rd wedding anniversary dinner on October 31, 2017. We ordered the FINLAND 100 menu. Creamy perch soup: the dry and lukewarm broth of the perch was watery and tasteless. Cold smoked salmon, rye bread, sour cream and red onion: this was absolutely good and tasty. Reindeer, sweet potatoes and leeks: tasteless, a big disappointment. Blueberry, cool and talcum powder: this tasted decent. (Original) Kävimme 53-vuotishääpäiväillallisella 31.10.2017. Tilasimme SUOMI 100 menun.
