A historic site with a beautiful view. It can be reached via a longer gravel forest road with a steep incline — hiking shoes are highly recommended! Much of the castle is under renovation, and many areas are closed. With the basic ticket, you can mostly explore the castle walls and visit one exhibition, where nearly all the signs are in Slovak — English translations are only available via QR codes. When we visited, the exhibition also included a retro display of strollers and children's toys, which was quite interesting.

Very nice place but should better manager. Any way Worth to visit, you can walk around it in max 2 hours. The main Tower is the Best. Nice to see the park and city too.

Trenčín Castle is stunning on the outside, but the interior and exhibitions are a bit underwhelming. When we visited, it was partly under reconstruction so there were some areas that we could not access. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful castle with amazing views.

Nice big castle, worth the visit. Doable with kids, we went up with a 3 and 6 year old, but it's quite steep. We did around 5 km, visited almost every corner.

Great place with lot's of history. If you don't mind a steep climb up too the castle . In the village square there are plenty of bar restaurants at reasonable prices.

Very good place for family. If you have time so take one day Trip in Trenčín by walk from the town up to the castle. Or take a train to the forest behind the castle, there were quiet and relax place for whole family.

The longest river in Slovakia. In Zilina area, there are plenty of events and activities around. Bike/rollerblading routes, restaurants. People fish there as well. You can find boats and scooters. I'm not sure of swimming is allowed but in summer people do.

Biggest mall in Trancin, but not close to the size of those in Bratislava. Some shops are also around, but quite far to carry the things. So movement by car still required. Big parking - definitely free slot can be found here. And it is free of charge almost everywhere. Some obvious minuses: traffic jam each business day in afternoon hours, police monitor specific part of parking quite frequently (there is not too obvious sign, which gives possibility to collect some fines), toilets only in one part of the building.

Boring as heck. I can hardly ever buy anything. The selection of brands is very poor here. Furthemore, the sales assistants avoid any eye contact and are oftentimes unwilling to help. I have had a few really really bizarre encounters; once the sales person suddenly squatted down behind her little counter to become invisible and to avoid any interaction with me and my partner and then she emerged and proceeded to play with her cell phone, still completely ignoring us and pretending we didn't exist. We were standing almost next to her but she just wouldn't acknowledge us. Elsewhere, there was a young lady whom I had to chase down throughout the entire store, and once I managed to catch her I found her filing her nails between the aisles. She gave me the deer in the headlights look and almost fainted out in shock that a customer wanted something from her. I could mention a few other ludicrous stories but suit yourselves and find out for yourselves.

I like here to go with my wife. We always find here beautiful clothes and shoes. And after couple of hours of shopping, you can enjoy a coffee ☕ time in the nearest restaurant or take some quick bites. The children can enjoy a playground in the shopping mall.

The biggest shopping centre in the region comprising of mainly European high street brands, complete with a centrally located food court. Convenient for finding clothing items under one roof, but a rather average experience overall. Parking is more complicated than it needs to be.

Brilliant festival. Very well organised and easy. Not too much time spent queuing. Great prices for drinks. Friendly crowd. We did not camp at the festival but it was easy enough to organise transport in and out of the festival.

Pohoda is not a standard music festival where everything is focused on a "headliners". Yes you can still dance on your favourite music but this festival covers more areas and aspects of todays life. NGOs, books, circular fashion, diversity or even discussion areas about various topics🌟 Food is so good that it is hard to resist😁Whole management-sleeping areas, chillout zones, etc are already as good as it can be👍🏻The only negative is a high price of ticket especially if your expected value is set on music-well known artist and music groups😀

Great festival: well organized and mostly very motivated and friendly staff and volunteers! Music and art is very diverse and there are many different installations and concerts to discover! Would definitely recommend!

The Mestska veza, also called the City Gate is a six-storey Gothic style gate of the old fortifications of the town gate and built in the 15th century. It was a Sunday when I came to Trencin and the tower was closed, so I didn't get a chance to climb it. It looks okay. The current structure makes clear the original function as the gate of a fortified wall. There’s a clock now at the top of the tower, but other than that, there's not much to see.

Beautiful building. Very historical, apparently one of the prettiest in Slovakia. It's an old Synagogue, no longer in use. Looks like it's currently undergoing renovations to be an art center. The architecture is very different from most synagogues.

The Synagogue was closed when I visited. I read that it's only opened at restrictive times. From the outside,it looked badly in need of some TLC. I also looked through one of the windows and it looked derelict.

I believe the architect must have had a lot of fun designing this building. It is so full of small details, arched windows that can be seen through arched spaces seen through actual arched entrances etc. The building is visibly in disrepair. The Jewish community is very small and demographically on a steep decline.

The place is small, but beautifull - currently under reconstruction. Entry fee is left up to the visitors. Kids friendly, you can buy souvenirs or learn more about its history from the kind people overseeing visitors. Monastery consists of a cave and chapel, the rest is off limist due to the reconstruction. There is an option to take a small hike to the hills or visit two caves underneath.

On February 26th around 13:30 we ordered soups only as the prices killed the vibe and usually soups can show if the cook is good because of that. Atmosphere was OK and that part was a satisfaction. Staff was OK as well, but it took a while to ask what we wanted to order (around 10 minutes). Mind that the restaurant was not fully occupied. Now the food...Chicken soup was OK, but a little bit salty for my taste, but nothing that could ruin your day. The bean soup on the other end was...without beans...here the staff was helpful however, so kudos to them to satisfy me. The soup was brought back to me ( this time with beans), but it was warm only and bland...I kept that information to myself this time though as I had all the information needed that it's risky to order main meal from the cook with those prices in mind. Oh well, better luck next time.

Absolutely worst restaurant in Trencin; possibly all of Slovakia. Only 5 items on the menu WERE available. Seems like tableware and napkins are optional considering they didn’t arrive until 5 minutes after the food. DO NOT ORDER THE NACHOS. Go around the corner to Lidl and buy a bag instead; they did.

Hidden away down a side street leafing to the main square. Really good traditional Slovak food and beer. We had the set menu with soup and a main course. Absolute bargain. Quick and friendly service. They speak some English. Kids loved it too. Will definitely go back.

I am not sure if I visited same restaurant as I have seen on the review photos. As soon as we sat down we were informed there is no rice available with any dishes or whatever number on the menu. I asked for different menu and even then waitress wasn't sure if they are capable to cook that particular dish so she asked for substitute just in case. Luckily the food we have ordered was available. We definitely ended up with less meat on the plate then what is posted on the restaurants menu. For the price we paid we could get little bit more.

My husband and I were just looking for a place that serves palacinky in Laugaricio when we were there and this place came up on my Google search and to be honest we were pleasantly surprised by the food we had -2 different kinds of palacinky and a pizza. I would give this place one more chance to try some other pizza , but so far my grade was fair enough.

The interior of the restaurant is neglected, dirty. Service fed up, very weak. Pizza disgusting, I have never eaten anything worse. I recommend bypassing this pizzeria.

We had three good pizzas which were delivered to the table fast. Waitress was impatient and gave us very little time to look at the menu though which wasn't pleasant even though we asked for more time. She just stood by the table next to us and returned after a minute when clearly, half of restaurant was empty. Otherwise, a good service.

Good burger, taste was not so balanced as I had jalapeños in mine and they were pretty sour, I expect from the jar, which is not that bad but it could use a little bit more cheese to balance the flavours. Otherwise good patties, quality ingredients and great packaging. If you are hungry totally recommend.

Best burger we ever had. We were out at night not knowing where to eat and randomly chose this place. The man working there explained all the ingredients in English for us and recommended the daily special which we tried. It looked and tasted amazing. The fries were good too and big portion, enough for 2 people. The prices are a total deal with the quality of food you will get.

Place to visit for everybody who loves burgers. Worth of getting off the highway and just enjoy the burgers. Great that burgers can be smaller and you can try more than just one. For me one of top burgers is Slovakia. Pitty there is no place to sit. Would be great if Fatty Patty would move to place where seating would be possible.
