Cenote Azul

4.7
(12934)
Cenote Azul, located between Playa Del Carmen and Tulum, is a large open cenote with crystal-clear water that varies in depth. It's ideal for swimming and snorkeling, catering to all abilities. Families can enjoy the shallow areas while adventurous swimmers can jump off the cliff into deeper waters. The cenote offers equipment rental and has an entrance fee of around 80 pesos. With its spacious pool area, there's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy this natural wonder.
It was my first time exploring a Cenote. It was my first time leaving the U.S. Yet it was a wonderful experience. The water was beautiful, the people visiting the area were beautiful, the wildlife was abundant, but they seemed harmless, and didn’t approach unless you tried to feed them, and there were several bad asses whom seemed to not think the rules applied to them, but hey! It was very entertaining. Let just let the photos speak for themselves.

We arrived at 10 am on Tuesday. It was raining a lot so there were no people there. It was beautiful when we were alone. Around 12pm it got more crowded and it became less enjoyable. But it was definitely worth the price when it was more empty. Definitely bring a snorkel and goggles if you have one. There are a TON of mosquitos though. The other little pools do not really look like you can swim in though. Oh and they seem to have a pet raccoon.
Sheriff N — Google review
Beautiful and peaceful cenote experience! This cenote was absolutely beautiful and peaceful when I visited. It’s a little more expensive than some others (around 200–300 pesos per person), but definitely worth it. There weren’t too many people when we went, which made it feel calm and private — our group had plenty of space to enjoy the area. I went with our Hostel Experience Manager who mentioned it’s one of the safer cenotes, so we felt comfortable leaving our things unattended (I wouldn’t have otherwise). The water was stunning, the views were amazing, and the whole experience was incredibly relaxing. By far my favourite cenote I visited in Playa! Note for photographers: if you’re looking to take pictures no professional cameras allowed - only phones,,go pros or 360 cam were allowed.

Visiting Cenote Azul was one of the highlights of our trip along the Yucatán Peninsula! If cenote hopping is like picking a restaurant while traveling, then this one is like the place with the longest line—because you know it’s going to be the best. And Cenote Azul delivered. It’s conveniently located right off the main road, but parking is limited—so plan to park along the road or consider taking a taxi. The entry fee was 180 pesos per person, and it was well worth it. The area is beautifully maintained, with walking paths that lead you to several different natural pools, each offering a unique experience. One of our favorite parts? The fish! It was surprisingly relaxing to sit in the water and let them nibble gently at your skin. There’s also a great spot where you can cliff jump into the water—about 11.5 feet high—and it adds a bit of thrill to your swim. The cenote is surrounded by nature, with lots of iguanas sunning themselves and a small food stand up on the upper level if you want a snack after your swim. Cenote Azul is very popular and does get busy by mid-morning, so if you want a more peaceful experience, come right when it opens. We visited several cenotes on our trip, but this one was hands-down our favorite!
Jim E — Google review
Absolutely stunning Cenote. It’s super busy so be aware it’s not as quiet as others but it’s so well maintained. Not expensive to enter and the cafe at the top was a great bonus serving simple foods, ice creams and lovely juices. There’s a massive hoard of Coatie’s too so sweet to watch. The nature is full of birds and iguanas. You could spend hours there easily. Very impressed.
A N — Google review
This was our first of three cenotes on our long weekend break and it was awesome! We managed to get parking inside which was perfect but if it is full, there is room to park on the side of the main road. The grounds are beautiful with nice paths throughout. There are a few different areas you can get in (including some smaller pools) and there's a deep area that you can jump in, there's a low platform and a higher jump. I loved the fish 'pedicure' ❤️ This cenote does get busy but well worth the visit and the price is good too.
Annalise T — Google review
Cenote Azul was incredible!! Gorgeous, fun, family atmosphere. It was really fun to see everyone cheering for nervous cliff jumpers. There are so many cenotes to explore. You get a free pedicure from the fish 😂, honestly I recommend water shoes, there are slippery bits and some of the rocks are pointy. The lockers and snacks are very reasonable. If you want to eat, I recommend getting the empanadas earlier than later, they were out by the time we checked. My whole family enjoyed it! I’ll be recommending this spot to everyone and would definitely return! If you’re a non Spanish speaker, I found many of the employees speak English as well.
Caroline P — Google review
Great complex of smaller and bigger cenote with small caves. There's a place for good swimmers and for beginners. Prices are reasonable (entry fee 180 peso pp, life jacket not mandatory 40 peso pp, snorkeling kit 80). Water is clean with plenty of small fishes. There's also place to jump in to deep water.

The menu also features exclusive items that capture the essence of this paradisal location. Guests can expect top-notch service and a comfortable dining experience. In addition to their delectable meat offerings, Beefbar also serves delicious pizzas and refreshing salads.
Beautiful ambiance, such a romantic date night. I love the mood lighting. Must order the empadillas amazing flavor! & The Kobe Karbonara is a must order.
Mari B — Google review
What makes this outpost special is that it is located inside Hotel Esencia in a special spot surrounded by mature trees, outdoor lighting and a relaxing vibe that allows for relaxation before and after dinner. Food is what makes it extra special and the menu has something for everyone. Loved the fresh sea bass, pizzas, grilled veggies (some of the best), fresh tuna and delicious salads. Prices are reasonable for the quality and amount of food served. Indoor seating and full bar available.

So much more than beef. Perfection in every way. The pizzas are so tasty. I had a tomato salad with feta and olives that I would eat every day if I could.

(Translated by Google) Although the service and attention were exquisite. The place is ridiculously expensive and does not deserve it in any way. In particular, the wine list is rude with the cheapest bottle at $2200.-- pesos or by the glass at $750.-- pesos. In the end they mark a 20% tip on your ticket. The decoration of the place has nothing extraordinary. The view towards a manicured lawn and palm trees that you can see anywhere in the region. The best of all was the kindness of the staff, but that doesn't take away the feeling of abuse.

4.9
(48)
Cenote Búho is a hidden gem that promises a serene escape for those looking to unwind in nature. This expansive cenote features various swimming and lounging areas, making it perfect for a day of relaxation. For just 150 pesos, visitors can enjoy the tranquil surroundings all day long. Although there’s mention of an on-site restaurant, it may not always be operational. The atmosphere here is peaceful; even on weekends, you might find yourself enjoying the space with minimal crowds.
Beautiful and Quiet. There are no signs, just a green metal gate. Drive up the path and someone will greet you. We had the whole place to ourselves for 3 hours. It was magical.
Jason K — Google review
Cenote Buho was the perfect hidden gem—crystal-clear waters, peaceful surroundings, and none of the noise or crowds you find at the more popular cenotes. A truly relaxing escape.

Absolutely beautiful! This place is a hidden gem. There was only us and one other family there on a Sunday when all the main cenotes were packed with people. It was very peaceful and only 180 pesos each.

Inside, everything is decorated and carefully curated, every corner. There's a rest area with hammocks and shade. The cenote is a very beautiful cave, and when we went, we were alone. (Original) Comimos allí y la atención y la comida estuvo 10/10. En la entrada había dos niños muy majos que nos explicaron todo como pudieron jajaja, muy graciosos. Cenote Jardín Del Eden

4.5
(1949)
Cenote Jardín Del Eden is a picturesque sinkhole lagoon surrounded by lush forest, offering crystal-clear waters perfect for scuba diving through submerged caves. The cenote features a 12-foot cliff for jumping and a tree to climb for higher descents. Submerged rocks in the middle of the cenote provide a resting place, where small fish offer natural exfoliation by eating dead skin from your feet. It's also popular for cave diving activities due to its underground caves.
Unmissable - we visited around noon and spent a couple of hours here. You can swim/ snorkel / even dive if you like, with a cave underwater. You can also jump in from the board. Just a stunning experience altogether. 300 pesos per person well spent. That said, be aware there are many iguanas around so come prepared.
Abhinav S — Google review
I really enjoyed this cenote, it was quiet / not busy. The swimming area was huge and the jumping area was great. I would recommend it to anyone. There was also a grill area where you could buy food. It was basic but a great option. The price was 300 pesos per adult.
Ian H — Google review
I took a group of almost 20 people here and we absolutely would recommend it, but I am going to be very candid. This cenote is AMAZING, one of the largest in the area and the water clarity is fabulous. There are multiple jumps and well as plenty of places to hang out in the water. There is also a cool cave in the back. We found the staff to be pleasant and not rude as many other reviews suggested. The staff absolutely takes a firm stance on not having sunscreens and other body products on when you enter the cenote - AS THEY SHOULD. The ecosystem is so delicate and all the chemicals we slather on our bodies greatly harm it. As a general rule all travelers worldwide need to be cognizant of this when swimming in bodies of natural water. This cenote is wonderful but there is a solid half mile walk from the highway into the cenote, its somewhat hilly and its loose sand. There is also a lot of rock stairs and pathways throughout so I would not recommend this cenote for those who have physical limitations or small children. There is a delightful smoothie and snack shack on site and around 1pm tacos and hot dogs were available. The lifeguards are great, they keep a quick watchful eye out. I felt so safe with letting my young son do all the jumps. Now for the sad part, one member of our large group had his body bag robbed of pesos and bank cards that were almost instantly used. It’s quite puzzling how this happened so fast, our entire groups stuff was right next to one of the jump platforms so it must have been someone watching and made a quick grab. I will say his bag was on the edge closest to the walkway and it very well may have been slightly open but it’s still upsetting knowing one of the few people that were there at the same time as us helped themselves to his wallet. I would absolutely bring a large group here again and again but we will make sure we always keep one person on guard where everyone’s belongings are left in the future.
Meredith L — Google review
An amazing cenote with crystal clear and refreshing water. We came quite early and there were not so many other people. There are many fish and it is fun to snorkel there. as the underwater landscape is fantastic. You can also jump from a cliff and there are restrooms and showers as well as a small kiosk where you can buy drinks and food.
Jens H — Google review
If you have a guide, all the tickets will be ready without any effort. Descent to the water is by stairs. There are many life jackets available. The water is clean and cold. People have fun in this place. There is staff to help with the attraction.
Nomad — Google review
Really feels like the garden of eden with the gorgeous waters and scenery. Was very pleased to see how well maintained the place was. They ask you to shower before you enter.( they have on site) No sunblock allowed. It's divided into 3 sections. They have special areas for deep sea divers to explore. Waters are a bit cold but you get used to it. You can also rent life vests for 50 pesos. Adult entrance- 300 pesos per person Kids - 200 per kid Babies - free Highly recommend for those who are looking for a quiet and gorgeous place to visit.
Muka M — Google review
Very nice cenote. Didn't get crowded when we went (during the week). But the prices rose. 300$ adults, 200$ kids (0-10years).
Pferdchen. M — Google review
A beautiful open cenote. Adult 300 peso, child 200peso. You can also pay in USD. ( I paid $40 cash for 2 adults and a 4 year old toddler) Pretty dip for kids but there are some rocks they can have a seat. Renting a lifejacket was $3 each There were so many mosquitos and flies by the entrance but once you get in the water, you won’t get bites

Jardin del Eden Cenotes is a stunning natural attraction located between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, near the renowned Xpu-Ha beach. It offers a pristine environment with white sand, turquoise waters, and one of the best beach clubs in Riviera Maya. Visitors can enjoy various activities while admiring the beautiful life under the surface, including swimming and cliff jumping. The cenote is well-preserved, strictly prohibiting alcohol, smoking, and sunscreen to protect its ecosystem.
Great laid back place. Only $40 pesos each for the colectivo out to Eden. $300 pesos per adult admission. Food, snacks and drinks available. Area is beautiful. This water is so clear. Make sure to shower well to keep it that way.

Incredibly beautiful and affordable. The guy working there really knows his stuff and cares A LOT about preserving the cenote. Don’t mess around wearing sunscreen and products on your body Saw a lot of iguanas too

The Cenote is beautiful, but we don’t recommend visiting here. The management are very aggressive and rude - we hadn’t realised you weren’t allowed beer and the management shouted at us, spoke very aggressively and tried to force us to leave. Even when we apologised (repeatedly) and poured our remaining beer away as a gesture of goodwill, the management continued to be pedantic and rude to us. There are many beautiful Cenutes around the area and we’d recommend going to one of the others over here, purely because of the abrasive attitude of the management.
Jonny A — Google review
Amazing place, don't be put off from the cover charge! You need to swim here. Also no sunscreen is allowed at most Cenotes as the chemicals hurt the delicate eco system.
Zonic F — Google review
It’s hard to give this place a proper star rating. The cenote itself is absolutely beautiful, perfect for snorkeling and swimming, and truly stunning for scuba diving. I’ve explored many cenotes in this area, and this one has some of the most breathtaking views underwater. I noticed many negative reviews, mostly about the person in charge. Unfortunately, it’s true. if you don’t follow the rules (like taking a proper shower beforehand), he can come across as rude or unfriendly. Please make sure to shower, remove sunscreen, and clean off makeup before entering. The reality is that before he took over, this cenote was becoming polluted because many visitors didn’t understand how chemicals could harm the environment. Thanks to his strict rules, the cenote has been restored to its natural beauty and is thriving again. I’ve also had unpleasant interactions with him, but I can’t deny that his efforts have saved this place. So, while dealing with him might not be enjoyable, respecting the rules is worth it for the sake of preserving this magical cenote.
Hamid K — Google review
The most beautiful cenote we’ve seen so far! The Boss is strict but fair. I love the fact that he actually cares about this ecosystem and doesn’t just treat it as a money machine. We didn’t have any issues, he was fun nice guy, and his wife was also very nice! Just don’t eat the hotdogs they are not very good ;). Better to bring your own food. The photos don’t to justice to this place. Also so many fishes!!! Beautiful life under the surface. It feels truly like a paradise there. And also not at all crowded. Perfection. Thank you sir for taking care of this place!
Scott L — Google review
This place was about 25 mins away from our hotel in Playa Del Carmen well from the colectivo station - we walked about 30 mins to the colectivo station. Jumped on a colectivo van towards Tulum. Told them we needed to get off by Cenote Eden. It was 70 pesos (3.50 usd) there and back - so 7 bucks total! You wave a colectivo down across the road where you get dropped off (picture attached). Once you get dropped off, you walk a few mins down to the gate, pay 200 pesos per person, then walk another 10 mins down to the cenote. The walk is a rocky road. You get there, need to shower if you have any kind of lotion, sunblock, or bug spray on. They have 3 little showers on the side of a hut with a soap dispenser. You can rent life vests and masks with a snorkel there. 2 vests and one mask was only 5 usd. The cenote itself is so beautiful!!! The only thing we didn’t like was scuba divers were training right in the middle and couldn’t really swim to where they were training. The cenote is big! But not huge. The rocks there that people sit and stand on are definitely very slippery with moss. There are definitely a lot of fish! It was amazing to swim there and swim with the fish and see how beautiful it is! I definitely recommend going! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sapporo - Nikkei Experience

4.7
(300)
Restaurant
The overall impression of Sapporo - Nikkei Experience is similar to other Barcelo "a la carte" restaurants, with exceptional service and stunning decor. However, the menu and food fall short of creating a truly memorable dining experience. It's unfortunate because the staff is incredible and the ambiance is top-notch, but the cuisine fails to match the rest of the restaurant's qualities.
Lovely food! Very good tofu with vegetables and fried rice. The best Edamame 🫛 What makes this place amazing is the dedication of its staff, especially Modesta de la Cruz. Such a friendly and cheerful and attentive waitress. She made sure we get precisely what we asked for! Would highly recommend her!

The atmosphere of the restarts felt very fancy. We were created by a kind hostess and were seated quickly. Our waiter was very kind and explained the menu very well. The food was delicious. I went out on a whim and tried something new for my entree (duck) I then learned I don’t like duck. The waiter was very quick and helped me choose another dish to try. My new entree (ahi tuna) was delicious. Would definitely go again on future trips.

Sapporo is one of the best dining options at Barcelo Maya Riviera. Exceptional food and service each time we dine here. Restaurant is visually appealing and virtually takes you to Japan. I've tried so many dishes here and none disappoint. Quality of fish is top notch, always fresh. Fantastic sake and Japanese beer options. And again, service is what makes Sapporo an amazing experience. Been served by quite a few of the great staff but most recent visit was made special by Modesta and Susana and the chef. Sapporo overall is a great dining experience thanks to the staff and the magnificent manager, Gaby!

If you're looking for a slice of paradise on the Riviera Maya, look no further than DUNA Beach Club at Xpu Ha. This newly established beach club is not only a haven for sun-seekers but also one of the few dog-friendly spots in the area, making it perfect for pet lovers. From the moment you step foot onto its sandy shores, you'll be greeted with warm hospitality that sets the tone for a relaxing day by the ocean.
I had such a great afternoon here. The service was outstanding and the drinks were delicious. It was great because I was able to bring my dog and spend the day with her here. Highly recommend!

Music was barely audible from the beach , the employees had more of a concert by the bar where nobody was . The atmosphere was dead , it is march so maybe slow and a Wednesday. The lounges were wore out and ripped and stained, the towels were thin and worn out fabric . The service which should have been impeccable was slow and we bussed 90% of our small table to the bar . The Beach is amazing . We spent 250 dollars . If you read the reviews you would believe it was Amazing all around ,that simply is not true , save your money and go further south , those beach clubs looked like they were busier than ours was, yet we didn't reap the benefits of a 1 to 1 staff to guest ratio.

This beach club is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a stunning day by the ocean! The atmosphere is laid-back yet vibrant, with breathtaking views that make it an ideal getaway. 🌊☀️ From the moment you arrive, the service is warm and welcoming. The cover fee is well worth it, including beach access, towels, showers, and both refreshing welcome drink and snack. There are plenty of seating options, whether you want to lounge under the sun or enjoy a shaded cabana. The food and drinks are fantastic! The menu offers a great variety, from fresh seafood to delicious cocktails, and everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. 🍹🍽️ The overall vibe is so relaxing—you can easily spend the entire day here. Whether you’re visiting solo, with friends, or celebrating something special, this place has everything you need for a perfect beachside experience. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back! 💛

Loved my experience at Duna, great location in Xpu Ha (the beaches are better than playa and Tulum especially in sargassum season) and easy to get to with the public transport collectivos. Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Playa Xpu-Ha, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Xpu Ha - Victoria. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Playa Xpu-Ha is a stunning beach along the Riviera Maya, known for its clear turquoise waters and wide stretch of white sandy shore. The beach offers a relaxed atmosphere with restaurants, bars, and live music from morning until night. It's less crowded than other nearby beaches, making it perfect for those seeking peace and tranquility by the sea. Families and couples love the shallow waters and variety of water sports available, including snorkeling and kite surfing.
This is a great choice for a beach. Most of the beaches are associated with a resort, who charges a lot for outside visitors. This one only charge 100 MXN per person with parking and bath facilities. You can walk a couple of hundred meters and have a secluded experience. Definitely recommend

This is a beach XPU-Ha, on it there’s a bunch of beach clubs we only went to one and there’s diff roads to each it was a little confusing and we came in around 230 so there wasn’t much time left because most of them close at 5 PM. But these beautiful beaches are so beautiful. It’s like when you think of Caribbean, this is exactly what you think of. The Quintessential Mexican Caribbean Beach… not crowded and so so beautiful. Here in March and the Seaweed was fine? Got lucky maybe I dunno… The people next to us had specifically come here from Akanal to snorkel so I guess it’s a really great snorkel place and you can see there’s a reef way out because you can see the water break, anyway we’re going back again today even though we’re at a really fancy all inclusive and Playa Del Carmen because it was that good!!

Beautiful beach and if you go a bit further out you can literally have the beach to yourself which is a nice escape from the crowded beaches in Tulum. Unfortunately there was a lot of algae so we didn’t go in the water a lot but still a very nice experience!
Andrea P — Google review
The beach itself is beautiful, you can see fish and the water is transparent. They charged 100 pesos per person at the entrance. To rent a chair you will need $400 pesos. A huge problem is that there is robbers that go walking all around the shore robbing the people that go swimming, at first they come close to you, stand around you, and then they assault you in groups. I watch this robbers steal the things from 2 Italians and a girl that had 2 dogs. They took their things and throw their cellphones and wallets into the forest. Be careful and please go in a big group and never leave your things unattended!

Our favourite beach in Playa by far. The entrance fee is 60 pesos per person. The sand is so soft, the water was clear and beautiful. I saw a sting ray and plenty of fish while snorkelling. The restaurant itself is near the beach, but the tables are right on the beach. It’s a bit pricey when it comes to the food and drinks. We rented an umbrella and two chairs for 400 pesos. Absolutely beautiful during sunset.
Julaine H — Google review
Entry cost 70MXN per person, children under 3 are Free and if you go by car you get fee parking. The restaurant there close at 5pm but the beach still open till 6pm. It’s a very nice beach with clear water and white sand where you can swim and rent your chilling place. Showers are available too and the area looks fantastic with the palm tree 🌴. I recommend going there
Hussain A — Google review
awesome beach, not very crowded. you can get some drinks and bring with you there to enjoy it the most. to get inside you something like 300 pesos per person, worth it.
Babak B — Google review
Lovely beach. Drive down the second road entrance if coming from Tulum end and it's 50peso per person, you're given a yellow wristband. Park just ahead of the beach clubs and it's free. Come early and get a palm tree for a blissful beach day!

La Playa Xpu-ha Beach Club is a vibrant and spacious beach club located in the beautiful Xpu-ha area. It offers ample beach loungers, shaded dining tables, and relaxing hammocks, making it an ideal spot for families to soak up the sun. While the beach may have some seaweed issues at times, the atmosphere is enjoyable and the staff are attentive.
Great beach and service! Fresh food and cocktails. The entrance fee to the beach which includes carpark and beach sunbeds and parasol is 200 pesos per person. Arrive early if you want a front row sunbed as the beach is a gem! Access to toilets and showers also. You will also be able to access public beach area from here. In that case the entry fee is 50 pesos per person.

After visiting many different beaches, Xpu Ha is our is our go to! Service is amazing and the staff takes great care of us. Menu is great they are doing great to keep the beach clean. Sargassum is very minimal here compared to other beaches. This place is and always be our go to when we need some sand, sun, cold beer and good food! We plan to spend about 2000 pesos for me and my wife for a full day of food and drinks!

Absolutely charming! My wife and I had lunch there and spent an afternoon laying by the beach. Clean bathrooms, easy to change into bathing suits. My wife had fresh fish and I had a really nice vegetarian plate. Very friendly staff and great drinks. Try the coco loco!

Such a nice beach club. Food service doesn't begin until 11am but the menu has lots of options and taste GREAT. 200 pesos entry fee and another 200 pesos for a beach chair. The water is BEAUTIFUL with no rocks.

We have been coming to Xpu Ha Beach Club for a couple of years. It's seemed to remain very consistent. If you drive, coming early (they open at 10am) will yield you the best parking. You will need to pay $50 pesos per person for entry and parking. You'll pay this at a gate. Drive until you cannot drive any further. There will be parking up at the beach club if you're there early. If not, you will have to walk from parking on the side of the road leading up to the beach club. To get chairs and waiter service, just select any beach chair. A man in a white polo will come and tell you it's $200 pesos for adults and $100 for children. You can select chairs in the shade or not. If it's too windy, they won't use the umbrellas. The food--the shrimp ceviche and tuna tostadas are amazing. The price is fantastic and the service is good. Get a michelda and Sol beer and you'll love it, trust me! This is such a beautiful place. The beach is white sand, zero rocks, so great for adults and kids. The sargassum isn't as bad on that side of the beach so no worries there. They do close at 6:30 so again, it's a great place to spend the entire day. We will continue to visit this amazing place! Totally recommend when you're near Tulum or Playa.

Love this place. $200 pesos for beach chair. Shower facilities. Delicious menu reasonable prices. Lovely clean beach. Friendly staff. My kids saw a stingray whilst snorkeling.

We went to this beach club at noon at it was not crowded, we paid 200 pesos per person and these pesos were included into your drinks and food. That was nice. In the evening (at around 4pm there were a lot of people already) the band started singing which was also pleasing. For sunbeds you need to pay extra 400 pesos for 2 people. Food was very nice, impressive! However, the waiter was a bit rude and he wasn’t appreciative for the tips that we left. He was unhappy and showed attitude because he wanted more. Also, one of the servers kept filming the beach (us as well)

A brief stroll along the shoreline trail leads to Serenity Beach Club, a hotel with complimentary beach chair access for its guests. Two entire days were spent basking in the sun's rays here. The eatery within the club offers exceptional fish tacos that are unparalleled in taste, freshness, and presentation. The establishment itself boasts remarkable amenities, allowing patrons to relish their delectable meals while admiring the azure waters.
We stay at the Serenity Glamping we love going to the beach club food is great! Very tasty!! Drinks are really good too. Prices are not bad for how much we are consuming 😁, service was great too! & the beach was very beautiful defenitly will be back next year!

A much lowkey experience of beach club amenities compared to that of playa del Carmen. Overall food was flavorful, and drinks were great. This area is more quiet and relaxing if you are looking to escape the party vibe. On weekends the parking lot can get packed which can turn into a long walk or get there early.

The beach club boasts an excellent location with a stunning beach. Thankfully, they refrain from playing loud music, allowing for a truly relaxing experience. While there's a minimum spend requirement for beds, the food is simple yet delicious. They offer refreshing flavored waters, with my personal favorite being the pineapple and passion fruit blend! We visited in February and there was plenty of beds available.
Natalia M — Google review
It's bad. It only gets three stars because there aren't many competitors around. A pretentious place that only stays in business due to the lack of options at the beach. The truth is, it's an expensive place with very mediocre food. The service is quite average as well. If you happen to be passing by, make sure to arrive early to get a decent table. The beer is expensive and warm. The ceviche has more onion than fish. And all this at a price well above the market.

We stumbled across this place by walking on the beach during our stay at la Catalonia and we were not disappointed. It’s pretty chill so do not expect fast service. Staff was friendly and the food was delicious. We were able to get our aguachile fix and their shrimp tacos were delicious. I definitely recommend trying this place out if you’re looking for a bite to eat with an amazing view of the water.

The restaurant at the Serenity Beach Club had the best fish tacos that I've ever tried. The freshness, flavor and presentation were amazing. The club itself has great facilities and it's a delight to enjoy such wonderful food while relaxing with the view of the blue water. My only complaint was the loud reggaeton music. Not everyone likes that kind of music. Some of us actually actively dislike it. I suggest they consider bossa nova, jazz, and some classy Mexican / Latin American songs to make the experience much more enjoyable.

They charge 60 pesos to get access to the beach, and use their stinky washrooms which smell bad for a mile, where they charge extra for toilet paper. I would pay the extra next door, get the parking and be able to sit comfortably at their beach club and be able to enjoy rather than this l They put no refunds for a reason.

We seem to have confused it with the beach club under the same name a few hundred meters south. Just do not go. Not worth the drive from Tulum. Just choose literally any other beach, for various reasons.

✨ A Dream Stay in Mexico – Absolutely Exceptional! ✨ From the moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be a special trip – but the hotel and its incredible staff made it unforgettable. Everything about our stay was beyond 5 stars: the warm welcome, the stunning setting, and the impeccable attention to detail. The food and drinks were out of this world – fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. Every meal felt like a celebration, and the cocktails were perfectly crafted, making every evening feel magical. What truly set this experience apart was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel at home, but Angela the breakfast hostess deserves a special mention. She was 10/10 – thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely kind. Her energy and hospitality elevated our entire stay. And then, the most unforgettable moment of all – we got engaged here! 💍 The setting, the atmosphere, and the love we felt in every corner of this beautiful hotel made it the perfect place to start the next chapter of our lives. We can’t thank the team enough for creating memories we’ll cherish forever. If you’re thinking about visiting, do it – you’ll be treated to an experience unlike any other.

We stayed here for about four days—our first all-inclusive. Overall, like many reviews mention, this resort offers good value. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, so if you’re looking for a party vibe, this isn’t the place. The staff was extremely welcoming, helpful, and accommodating to requests. The property felt clean and safe. That said, there are small improvements that could elevate the experience. The food was just okay—about a 3.5 or 4 out of 5 at best. Some dishes stood out, but the Italian restaurant was our least favorite, while the steakhouse was the best. Portions at the restaurants were small. The buffet had a decent variety, though some items could have been better. The “natural juices” seemed to be heavily sugared and processed compared to others we’ve had, and some fruits were not picked well/unripe. While drinks were included, if you’re not a heavy drinker, you might not get as much value as you’d expect. The rooms and some facilities are dated and could use modern updates. Our room also felt humid/damp. Daily entertainment was provided, but options were limited—additional activities like a game room (billiards, card table, etc.) or movie screenings would have been nice. Overall, this is a nice place with great staff and a relaxing atmosphere. A few touch-ups could make it even better for the future.

Catalonia royal Tulum was a blast. I never felt so relaxed. Food was delicious , staff were incredible. I hope they are celebrated and supported by management! Above and beyond, kind and welcoming, especially: Josafath, Fernando, Quetzabal, Nelsy Miguel at steakville, Angeles and Luis at la palapa, Freddy from the bar and Mr Handy! Beach is gorgeous, pool is super fun, reservations were easy to make, drinks were good and housekeeping was spectacular. If you're hoping to more easily access Tulum, I found it a fair amount of hassle as it's quite far but any Google maps look should have let me know that. It also would be helpful to have smaller bills more readily available onsite so we could tip more easily. Anyone giving mid reviews is likely not being realistic/fair, this play is the best.
Kristin R — Google review
Location is tremendous. Rivera Maya is absolutely beautiful and further down from Cancun the Xpu Ha beaches are white sand and and clear blue water (when seaweed) allows. It's a bit quieter than Cancun type resorts if that's what you're after. A variety of restaurants means you don't get bored with one single buffet or cuisine. Almost all the staff are very friendly and super keen to please and help. Some of the rooms and facilities are a touch tired and could do with a face lift but they do periodically refurb sections. We rarely return to places but have been here twice and would consider a third for sure. Special shout out to Juan and Marcelino at Sorrento. And of course Quetzabel at La Palata who is one of the most upbeat people I've ever met 😁 The WiFi is really fast but got some reason you have to refresh 2-3 times to load the page or the thing. It's not a coverage issue, there are extenders everywhere, it is a software configuration issue. They have a convenient online place to book and look up restaurants and their menus but they need to stay on top of updating as I went to a restaurant at 10 (the time it said it was open) and they told me it wasn't open until 11 and the website was wrong, so I had to sit around. Not a lot else to grumble about really.

My daughter, Jane, and I stayed at Catalonia Royal Tulum for a 7-night vacation from September 10–17. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation to one of your staff members, Jose, who works in the buffet. Although I cannot recall the exact days he served me, I remember clearly that on at least two occasions, during breakfast and lunch, Jose kindly attended to me. Even though he was very busy, he never forgot my special request for soy milk with my coffee. What touched me most was that, despite working so hard and even sweating from the effort, he always carried a genuine smile wherever I want him to get anything for me, like hot water. His warm greeting and sincere attitude in serving guests truly stood out and made me feel cared for. This is the kind of customer service that makes a lasting impression. Jose made me feel happy and comfortable while dining, and I deeply appreciate his dedication.

The staff (wait and kitchen) were friendly and kind. David and Luis took care of us and wanted to make sure we had a wonderful time. There was an abundance of options compared to other restaurant choices, and David was happy to recommend pairing options. Going here for an evening felt like a real slice of Mexico, capturing the genuine kindness of the Mexican people.

This is our second visit and it is absolutely gorgeous. The best food and most beautiful beach. If you go to the steakhouse ask to be served Priscilla. She was so funny. And made sure we had a good time and great service. What makes this resort for us is the entertainment staff. Abraham, Charlie, Diego are absolutely amazing. They are so fun and friendly. They really made our stay. I loved playing volleyball with them.

Dolphin Discovery Riviera Maya offers various packages for interacting with dolphins and manatees. The encounter package allows visitors to touch, hug, and kiss the dolphins, with life vests provided for non-swimmers. Guests can also feed lettuce to the manatees and enjoy a buffet with a decent variety of food. However, some find the photo prices expensive. Pre-booking tickets online can save you money, and the website is user-friendly.

I wish I had done more research before booking this experience. What I thought would be a magical encounter with dolphins turned out to be DEEPLY DISTURBING. These incredible, intelligent animals are confined to small, artificial pools for the entertainment of tourists. They spend their entire lives trapped, unable to swim freely, explore, or socialise as they would in the wild. Dolphins are highly intelligent mammals who swim up to 100 km a day in the ocean. In captivity, they are often kept in tanks barely larger than a backyard swimming pool. Their natural sonar, which they use for navigation and communication, bounces endlessly off the walls, causing stress, confusion, and even psychological trauma. Some captive dolphins are seen floating listlessly or grinding their teeth from anxiety. What makes it worse is that these animals do not choose this life. Many are captured from the wild in violent hunts, separated from their families. Others are bred into captivity, never knowing the ocean at all. Either way, it is a life sentence in a concrete tank. If you love dolphins, please do not support this industry. Every ticket sold tells these places that it is okay to keep exploiting animals for profit. There are ethical alternatives, like seeing dolphins in the wild on respectful eco-tours, where they are free, not performing tricks for fish. I left this place feeling ashamed and heartbroken. Please do not make the same mistake I did. Do your research. Choose kindness over curiosity.

2025-July We booked the Royal Swim Plus for $3448.50 MXN each, which included dolphin, manatee, and sea lion interactions—plus a catamaran ride (which we never received). Transportation was an extra $300 MXN, and we paid a $100 MXN animal interaction tax at check-in. Animal encounters were amazing, and the trainers were knowledgeable and kind. However, the photo package was misleading—$2200 MXN only covered dolphins, and we were shocked to be charged an additional $80 USD for manatee and sea lion photos. Also, our photographer was unpleasant- even the other family noticed it. In addition, the water, although warm, was full of seaweeds. Buffet food was poor—dry chicken, brittle rice, and bland fish. Total cost was approx. $7550 MXN (~$400 USD) for 2 people. Despite the frustrations, my child had a great time with the animals. ✅ Great dolphin, manatee, and sea lion experience ❌ Poor food, misleading photo pricing, no catamaran ride Hope this helped.

Getting booked ahead of time for a large group was a headache. We went with a small group 5 years ago and it was very easy in person and much less expensive per person. I suggest going in person last minute instead of booking online, even if it's a big group. For the tour itself, the staff was great! They were helpful, informative, and obviously love the animals. We did the biggest package and saw dolphins, manatees, and sea lions, which was wonderful. A lot of the focus is getting pictures, which I don't love. If you want photos included, you should try to negotiate that price before you start. The picture prices were $40 per photo or $550 for all.
Becki P — Google review
Super fun. Second time we’ve done this but this time we took our kids. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t tell me over the phone that you had to be 54” for the sea lion interaction. That’s the main reason we booked it because it was dolphins plus other encounters. I paid for it but my daughter couldn’t enjoy the sea lion. They told me to look at the website before coming which wasn’t helpful. Also, pictures are $85 per PERSON. I think it’s helpful to know that when you budget.

Puerto Aventuras Water Sports offers a variety of thrilling activities to make the most of your beach getaway. You can hop on a jet ski, ride a banana boat, or kayak through the waves. If you prefer a more leisurely experience, sailing on a catamaran or parasailing might be for you. The azure horizon provides an unparalleled backdrop for windsurfing as well.
Great dive shop and guides. Highly recommend. Found them online and came down with a buddy to do some diving. My friend was doing his open water dives through PADI referral course and I was certified and just along for the ride. We dove with Alex for two days and it was wonderful. I loved listening to him train with my buddy and picked up some good ideas and reminders from him. He was an excellent instructor and we were lucky to have him. In addition to instructing, he knew the area like it was his backyard (which it kind of is) and he took us on some great dives. Would dive again with Alex in a heartbeat. After finishing the open water dives we did two Cenote dives with Casar. He was another excellent DM and guide. We felt fully comfortable and safe with him and he guided us through the cavern giving an unforgettable experience. We had a blast and loved diving with him. Also got to talk to the owner Ken for a bit. Great guy who clearly cares about who he hires and doing it the right way. Highly recommend this shop. You won’t be disappointed.

This is the best dive shop we’ve ever used while vacationing. They had the best customer service and truly care about their client’s experience. Alex was great with helping to plan the week beforehand. When we got to the shop for our first dive, Carlos and Rocio were able to answer all the questions we had and explain what the 2 dives would be like. Rocio was our dive master during all 6 dives and she showed incredible care for our well-being and safety. She is also super knowledgeable about diving Cozumel, Puerto Aventuras, and Playa del Carmen. We can’t wait to come back and dive again with this company and crew! Thanks so much for the memories, Hannah & Chad

I can't say enough good things about Carlos, he was so friendly and informative but kept a calming demeanor that made the learning experience extremely comfortable. We had a great time diving and can't wait to come back.

PAWS was so accommodating - I walked in at opening and they were able to set up my fiance and I for a Discover SCUBA and a Refresher for a certified diver the same day. The price is fantastic, and instructor Alex made us feel very comfortable and was very accommodating for the different experience levels. He was a great teacher for the beginner and gave the more experienced diver the instructions to improve their diving skills. During the dive a sea turtle swam right up to us, we saw a huge moray eel, and many beautiful fish and coral a short boat ride from shore. Ken runs a great dive shop and I will definitely be diving with them again the next time I'm in Puerto Aventuras!

We found PA Water Sports via PADI as part of competing our certification. The entire crew was great and deeply cared about our experience! We dove with Alex and as other have mentioned it, he was great for either beginner or advanced! He was extremely helpful, knowledge and patient with my wife! The dives were in front of PA and the reefs were great. Would highly recommend and we will back next time we are in town. Thank you for the great experience! R&R

Excellent diving experience for our family and the family we traveled with! We dove in Cozumel four months ago but the very short boat ride needed to get to great diving near Puerto Aventuras is tops. Ken Brasted, the owner, was helpful and accommodating to our varying diving experience levels. His team of dive masters was great too. We saw sea turtles and many other lovely sea life on our dives. We will be back in Puerto Aventuras in a few months and will dive with Puerto Aventuras Water Sports again. We also rented stand up paddleboards from them and the team was "concierge" getting our boards to the beach and giving instruction.

We had a total blast on our trip yesterday. Our crew was absolutely amazing and took really good care of us making sure we were safe, had fun, and entertained. The crew took lots of great photos for us as well. We were a little concerned the days leading up to our trip because of wind advisory and it not being safe to go out to sea. However, we were assured we could take an alternate trip straight to party cove. Our trip included lunch, open standard bar, paddle boards & snorkeling gear. Upgraded bottles of alcohol were available for purchase at a reasonable price. We also purchased a couple fruit platters that did not disappoint.

The highlight from our trip was the 1/2 day we spent with H2OH on the Pura Vida! Due to choppy water, we had to change the itinerary from a sailing/snorkeling tour to a fun sandbar, party day. Carly, Lester, and the rest of the crew were so much fun. I organized the day and travel quite a bit and will say this was the best company I have ever dealt with. They were extremely organized and always got back to me promptly! I highly recommend spending a day with them. Everyone in my group told me that they had a blast!

Carly, Barry, Brian and Danny were absolutely AMAZING!!! We brought our younger kids with us and they could not have been more attentive and helpful! The food was delicious and we loved every minute. Highly recommend!

Santos and the crew were so amazing and fun!!! They went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and had a great time. Highly recommend. In fact, I want to book another trip with them already. I’ve had many yacht experiences and this one took the prize. Santos set up a bar and buffet on top of some water boards in the water (he gave us the option). It was amazing. Literally, no one else around us did that so it was so unique.

My husband and I literally got married in the morning and went straight to celebrate with h2oh. They let us start at a later time that worked with our ceremony. They were so accommodating, let us hook up our bluetooth to listen to our own music, the ceviche and guac were amazing and they made it right there on the boat. It was so much fun! Daniel & Noel were great! Next trip we are definitely going to book with them again!

Santos, Felix, Adrian were AMAZING! Food, drinks and service was fantastic. They were very entertaining and even helped us with an entire photoshoot + more. Highly, highly recommended. I would definitely book again.

Restaurant
The dining experience at La Dolce Vita - Ristorante Italiano was overall satisfactory with good food and pleasant service. However, the menu did not meet expectations as it did not offer anything exceptional or memorable. Nevertheless, the highlight of the restaurant was its impressive ambiance and entertainment provided by a group of talented singers performing classical Italian songs. The atmosphere and quality of food at La Dolce Vita were commendable, but there were no outstanding aspects that left a lasting impression.
Excellent service from Bryant Moreno and Elsy Rodrigueze. Food was great and very favorable. Bryant even found some vanilla ice we cream for my husband. Had the mussels, tomato soup, minestrone, cod, chicken, tiramasu, and ice cream. Great job!
Karen C — Google review
This restaurant offers many dishes from the menu. There is also an antipasto bar which is our favorite. Pizza here is pretty good. Get that as an appetizer. You'll leave La Dolce Vita full and satisfied. Staff is attentive and super friendly. During last visit we were taken care by Yaneth and Gerardo. Great service from everyone. Benny is a fantastic manager of this restaurant, always a pleasure to see him interact with us and other guests.
Luke J — Google review
The restaurant setting was modern and beautiful. We had no wait time to be seated. The waitress was attentive and explained the menu well. All the food was great. We weren’t the biggest fan of the carbonara but that may just be our taste. The mussels stood out to my husband and I. They were delicious!
Inna L — Google review
La Dolce Vita restaurant is amazing! It is the best restaurant here, you should totally try! Gilberto Lozano and Yaneth Garcia are amazing and Yaneth is so sweet and helpful she is my favorite here.
Enas Z — Google review
The 'clam' pasta was terrible, it was with mussels, not clams. The smell was very strong even though I love seafood generally (except for mussels). I ordered carbonara again, then it was okay. Pizza is better than the ones in buffet, tiramisu wasn't great though.

Amazing experience. First we were greeted for a beautiful girl Mitzyuri who welcomed us to our table. Then we got served by Cesar and Christopher, both extremely personable and sweet. The food super delicious and the atmosphere perfect for a great dinner. Highly recommended!

Definitely recommend Dolce as one of the top restaurants at the Maya Riviera Resort. The ossobucho was to die for and so was the spaghetti pomodoro. So delicious. You get a bread basket with every meal as well. The bread was the best dipped in Oil, Balsamic Vinegar and parmesan. Yum. We had the Sicilian cannoli for dessert and it did not disappoint. Our favorite restaurant on this entire Barcelo Properties.
Cynthia G — Google review
We had an incredible dining experience tonight! The food was absolutely delicious, but what truly made our visit memorable was the amazing service from Yaneth Garcia and Elsy Rodriguez. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time, taking the time to explain the menu in detail and offer thoughtful recommendations. Their friendly and attentive service made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this restaurant—both for the food and the outstanding hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a fantastic dining experience at La Comedie! The service was amazing by Yaneth Garcia & Juan Velasquez. They were super attentive and gave us great recommendations including the delicious short ribs and starters. The restaurant had a stunning setup and decor. They gave us a small cake dessert to celebrate our honeymoon.

La Comedie was a nice experience! We even witnessed a proposal! Blessings to the happy couple. Araceli and Mario were our servers. Thank you for a magical evening.

Just finished dinner and everything was incredible — not just for vacation standards, but as good as I would expect at home in Canada. Our server Benjamin Jimenez was fabulous — our drinks were always full, good came quick, and he was super accommodating to all of our requests. The crème brûlée was the star, so don’t skip it, but the soups and filet and short rib mains were also both fabulous.
Nikki S — Google review
We had a great dinner experience with Abigail Caamal and Araceli Castro. Their recommendations were really good!! Service and food was top notch. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
Jason S — Google review
Let me start by saying that our expectations were very high, and for the biggest part they were met. The restaurant is beautiful, from decoration to everything they use. The service is awesome, the team really deserves 5-star rating. The food looked really good, but the taste unfortunately was not in the same level, just tasted similar to what we had in the buffet during lunch, good but not impressive
Sergio C — Google review
I was surprised to find that Comedie was my favorite meal at Barcelo. Abigael Caamal and Aracel Castro provided excellent service and every menu option was perfectly composed in presentation and taste.
Lena — Google review
This was a terrific experience in all senses. It started with a warm welcome from the host, then the waiters José Hernández and Garmi Casanova made the moment so good because they made me feel confortable all the time and they were willing to serve. The food was utterly good, the taste, the size of the portions and the meat was so smooth. The chef take care of every detail, for example in the dessert’s plate the put the colors of the French’s flag as you can see in the picture. The ambient was relaxing, confortable and they have different type of chairs, I liked that as well. Thanks for such a nice experience.
Arturo S — Google review
Food and service was fantastic. Lots of fresh seafood and top notch steaks. This time had many starters but the French Onions Soup and Beef Wellington stole the show. I did also have the escargot which I happen to be a self proclaimed afficianado of. They were great but not the traditional garlic infused I prefer.

Ecopark Kantun Chi is a hidden gem in the jungle of Riviera Maya, Mexico. It boasts a collection of unique cenotes and underground rivers that were revered by the ancient Maya as sacred wells. The park offers the Magical Waters tour, which allows visitors to explore five cenotes and visit a Mayan shrine. With its variety of flora and fauna, it's an ideal destination for adventurous activities like kayaking, swimming, and exploring underground caverns.
FANTASTIC experience at Ecopark Kantun Chi. We did the Grotto experience which includes a guided tour to all of the cenotes as well as the cave experience where you swim and walk through the cave. Rene was our guide and was outstanding! He pointed out numerous types of birds and lizards during our tour, answered all questions that we had. The restaurant is delicious, drinks, food, all of it!! I got the pork and it had great flavor! Incredible experience and you have access to the cenotes after your tour if you want to spend the rest of the day there. The entire park is beautiful, shaded, and endless paths to wander and explore. Definitely a must do if you are in the area!
Melissa C — Google review
Truly a spectacular collection of cenotes. We did 4 cenotes while we were here and it was a great experience. They have a restaurant on site, which is really convenient. Showers and changing rooms included. A beautiful spot in the middle of the jungle.
Steven O — Google review
We had a private tour for 8 people. It was about 4 hours and included a full meal. If you go with a group, only rent 1 locker because they are huge. The grounds are lush and beautiful. There is a LARGE variety of wildlife to see on your small touring walk. I especially loved the history lesson we received on each cenote throughout the day. We purchased our tickets in advance. Those of us who have our residency received a reduced rate and buying the tickets in advance afforded our guest a nice discount. When we walked up, the were waiting for us and immediately stated our party's name. If you can't swim, no worries, the life vest are PHENOMENAL! Make sure you bring water shoes.
Dr. P — Google review
This was our first time visiting a Cenote, this place is so peaceful and we just walked around and followed the path to different cenotes. You could kayak and/or swim in one if you prefer. It was a fantastic experience being with nature and what nature had to offer. Definitely an experience you should not be missing when in the area.
Ajo G — Google review
My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful time at Kantun Chi Ecopark! We did the guided tour of the cenotes + the underground cave and would highly recommend the full package as it was definitely a magical experience! Our guide, Rene, was fantastic! We spent about 4-5h there and got to swim in 3 out of the 5 cenotes during the tour. You also get free time after the tour to explore the park if you want to revisit some of the cenotes. As someone who can’t swim very well, I felt comfortable following along and they provided a life jacket, mask, and snorkel. Lunch is also included and we loved the ambience and food at the restaurant!
Cherry — Google review
We couldn't decide which cenote to visit in the area because there are so many and the guided tours seem to take you to all the same ones! Kantun Chi ticked all the boxes for us, there is 5 different cenotes, caving, great facilities and fantastic food! All of which are included in the full package which we would definitely recommend. This place was the highlight of our holiday in Riviera Maya. Beautifully kept, not too busy and welcoming!
Craig T — Google review
My wife and I just went on this magical guided tour of Kantun Chi. We really enjoyed our experience! Our guide, Jose Carlos, was so helpful and engaging. His excitement for the Eco-park was inspiring, it really created a comfortable experience for the both of us. We definitely recommend giving it a shot if you’re up for some adventure. The underground river is a bit more adventurous, so if you fear tight spaces, it might not be for you. Overall, it was a beautiful step into a piece of culture and nature.
Anthony P — Google review
This place is absolutely incredible! I came across it online while searching for a more local experience, and wow…. this ended up being the highlight of our entire trip. We purchased the tickets directly online. From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff greeted us and provided outstanding customer service. Our underground tour began right away after we were given life jackets, then our guide took us to explore three stunning cenotes. Lunchtime came around and damn..!! It was a complete surprise, I was expecting something quick or similar to amusement park food, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The meal looked and tasted like it came straight out of a 5-star restaurant. It was delicious! After lunch, we continued visiting the cenotes and were amazed to find that we had each one completely to ourselves, as most other guests had already left the park. It made the experience feel even more magical and peaceful. Note: The park does not offer transportation. Don’t get ripped off by the hotel taxis. We were being charged $1,200 pesos each way. So we walked to 5th avenue and took a colectivo for $40 pesos each. You can even take a taxi here they are way cheaper. It drops you off directly in front of the location. From there you can walk to the entrance. On the way back we walked to Barcelo hotel and sat in the bench that is located there. The colectivo ($40) picked us up and brought us to Playa Del Carmen where we took a taxi ($100).

Mistura Xpu-Ha is a culinary gem that beautifully marries the vibrant flavors of Mexican cuisine with Mediterranean influences, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean. Nestled under an impressive palapa, this beachfront restaurant offers breathtaking 180-degree views of Xpu-Ha bay.
We had a phenomenal dinner! Very quiet, calm and private. Pavo and his team provided an over the top experience. Zero mosquitoes anywhere on this property unlike Tulum.

It is my forth time here. Food absolutly delicious and view to the beach and sea is perfect. Service is excelent and definitly will come back.
Orsat S — Google review
Really nice beach. Solo beach costs 50 MXN Pesos and if you're ready to walk a bit along the coast (north), you'll reach some nice palms and a great look at the awesome Caribbean without that much other people. We really enjoyed this beach. But like nearly everywhere there has been a lot of seaweed, but in the sea it was mostly clear and awesome to swim. The waves, fishes and crabs get definitely thumbs up.
Deniz Y — Google review
One of the best experiences ever seen in a while. A new view to the beach with great food freshly made is a excellent combination. Love that you can reserve without being a guest. Got to try both restaurants inside to get full experience.

Mistura is a restaurant that earns it’s price tag. The setting alone is enough to take your breath away. Add in some incredible drinks, any entree on the menu and top it off with the best cheesecake in QR, you’re in for a perfect experience.
John R — Google review
Good, but not great, and didn’t find it a value. Did a quick Google trying to find a nice place to get lunch between visiting cenotes and did not realize it was in the Hotel Esencia (5-star hotel). We drove up and the staff quickly ushered us on a golf cart to down a jungle path; we dismounted and walked through the jungle and residences until getting to the restaurant on the beach. Location was gorgeous. Normal food (nothing mind blowing…just normal food), normal service (multiple times I had to look around to order more water, our nanny was having trouble cutting the plastic off the baby ketchup bottle and the server didn’t help) and 5-star prices ($250 USD for a lunch for 3 with no alcohol) - left with an underwhelming feeling. The staff were great (folks who helped us to the gate and the restaurant) - but left with a feeling of [insert shoulder shrug]. As I edit this, I’m like I paid 60 USD for a pretty basic, plain beef kebab on rice.

Incredible experience as a non resort guest. Absolutely loved it from arrival until departure. By far the most expensive meal we had in Mexico but we felt it was worth it. Our regular rosé was on the menu (5x what we pay for it in London) but the overhead for the view was money well spent. (I can't see how to edit the price per person as wasn't sure what currency this was in, but FYI our lunch was US$433 for two)
