Had a great day on LARC-5! We did a 1hr afternoon tour and it was worth every cent. Fun and Entertaining and caters all ages from 5yo to 99yo! Must do family fun!

Great day out on the bay with our host, Mark. Laid back, laconic local. Very knowledgeable about the area. We did the 2 hour lunch tour. A wrap, fruit, biscuit and cold drinks included. Highly recommended.

Fabulous,amazing tour. Great value for money the guide Whitey and the Skipper Jono were so informative. The tour had it all from history of Bustard Lighthouse to wild life, seeing dolphins in the ocean so we joined them in the surf. 10/10 high recommend.

What a fabulous day out. It was amazing from beginning to end with Kev as our tour guide and Jono the skipper. Fantastic lunch and tobogganing down the sand dunes was so much fun. We loved the tour of the lighthouse and surrounds. If you’re at 1770 don’t miss out on this awesome day.

I expected it to be ok, but it was really good! Allow extra time, as the driver/captain? spots something interesting, he just charges into the ocean to check it out. Very good and entertaining commentary. The lunch was fruit with choice of chicken/ham or veg wrap A great couple of hours, would definitely recommend the tour 👍

The cookies and vanilla slices are a MUST. I also had the pink lemonade ice tea and it was amazing! The service was very quick and the staff are really nice.

Brilliant. We came for the vanilla slice but at the last minute were too tempted by the pecan pie. It was spectacular. Made our day. Great coffee and service, too. A friendly and efficient team. Loved it.

We enjoyed our first trip on a LARC today but no sooner had we disembarked, the skies opened. Sheltering undercover at the Marina we visited the cafe for a coffee and one of their legendary vanilla slices. The coffees were good and the vanilla slice large. With me, the jury is still out whether it is the best tasting vanilla slice around but I guess it’s all down to an individual’s taste.

What a lovely spot, was very busy when we got back from a tour, so we only had a quick drink at the bar.

Vanilla slice is the best 👌, breakfast and coffee ☕️ sensational. BTW, the owner makes the vanilla slice himself.

Food was great ….. service as good and we sat down to watch dolphins playing in the bay.

It was certainly worth getting up early for this trip to Lady Musgrave Island. The crew were very professional and competent. We had lunch morning tea and afternoon tea – all was Complimentary and delicious. There was also the opportunity to purchase other drinks and snacks. It was interesting to walk around the island and learn a bit about the history of the southern barrier reef. Then to be guided through the lagoon to see the most impressive turtles. On our way back, the captain made a slight detour as he had been looking out for whales - We had a wonderful display from a mother and calf. I would highly recommend this trip.

The stars are for this magnificent island and lagoon. We were a little disappointed by the coral: most of it is brown, which doesn't mean it's dead, but rather due to algae. It doesn't look like coral with all the imaginable colors you can see elsewhere on the Great Barrier Reef so if you want to see coral go to the north. The worst part is that I've never paid for a wetsuit on a tour. Yes, it's written in the email, but to me, it's a joke. The price here is the same as for all the tours in GBR, with an extra charge for snorkeling. The wetsuit costs $10 per person, which isn't much, but it's a bit surprising it’s alaways included in the price…

Our family of four (kids are 12 and 7 year old boys) had an amazing time. The ride out was rough, and we were glad we took our motion sickness medication. However, it was worth it to be able to explore the island and snorkel the reef. The boat itself is comfortable and accommodating. The staff were very friendly, professional, and helpful. We saw tons of beautiful fish, many sea turtles, an octopus, and stingrays, and we were even treated to some whale watching on the smooth ride back!

Had a lovely day trip to Lady Musgrove island today. Safety procedures were well explained and demonstrated. The skipper a glimpse of a breaching whale. He diverted our course so that we could see mother and calf playing. We must have sat by them for 10 minutes. What great diversion!

Had a terrific day out. The journey out to Lady Musgrave was a little rough for some passengers but the crew took it in their stride and made sure everyone was OK, giving out cups of ice and tending to those who needed a bit more help. Our guide on the island was very knowledgeable and after a walk around we headed to the glass bottom boat for a different view of the reef. Even spotted a few turtles! After a tasty lunch of wraps and fruit and plenty of it, we were decked out for snorkelling in the lovely clear but cold waters. Again the crew were terrific and made sure everyone was comfortable and had the right gear. The cherry on top was a tail slapping, fin flipping display by a mumma whale and her calf. So wonderful to see and experience. The whole day was awesome with amazing crew and the food was delicious and plenty of it. Luckily the trip home was far more comfortable and a lot gentler on the stomach! 10/10 to the crew. Top day out.

Great snorkeling trip! We loved to see this part of the great barrier reef, see the corals and the turtles! The trip on the boat is one we will never forget haha, the crew was so nice and helpful. The sea sickness pills we recommend 👌!

Great place to stay. Host/owner was friendly and helpful. Amenities were clean and tidy. Sites were quite adequate and the park was nice and quiet. Park still had a "bush" feel with the trees and a track that led to the beach. Close to other local amenities. Definitely would stay again. Oh, the take away fish and chips from out the front were awesome.

We stayed in one of the bungalows for one night only. There is no ensuite in bungalows but amenities were very close, and staff checked a number of times that I was aware there was no bathroom in cabin. Even received a text message the day after booking to check I knew this. Staff on phone and check in were friendly and helpful. Cabin was clean and well fitted out. Bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Amenity block was clean.

Our Family of 4 stayed in a Garden Delux Cabin which had everything you needed for the 3 nights plus a Smart Big TV for the family with 2 kids to watch, 2 Bunk beds and Queen size bed which was soooo comfortable. Which also has 1 small Bathroom which was fine no worries there. Over all was Great, kids went for a swim heaps of times in the swimming pool and had a Awesome time. We will definitely be back again some time over next school holidays.

Highly recommend, generous sized sites for caravans, Not squashed in like other parks in the area. We shared two sites with friends and didn’t use the whole site. Lovely swimming pool. Amenities a little dated but very clean. Lots of shade from trees and the grounds well maintained. Japanese food caravan out the front, excellent food. Fish and chips shop also with good fish. Fantastic park highly recommend

Loved our stay at 1770 Holiday Village. We had a powered site which was spacious and clean. Amenities were well looked after and cleaned daily. The private 4x4 track to the dog friendly beach was an added bonus. Will definitely be back!

We stayed in the caravan park. It was a quick 2 night stay, but unfortunately didn’t get to experience much of what the park had to offer as we got caught out with the horrific storms that hit the coast at the time. We did enjoy the walking tracks when the rain stopped and liked the fact that it was easy access to the beach and Agnes Water. Hopefully next time we get better weather.

Great two nights. Very quiet. Reasonable walk to beach where our dog Banjo could go crazy. Nice pool but closes early. No fire pits unfortunately

Outstanding!! The place is super lovely, clean bathrooms and nice hot showers. The kitchen is amazing and the outdoor area is really cozy, decorated with nice works of art and a hammock. Garry told us a lot about the history of Australia and the Kangaroos. He really loves the animals a lot and takes care of them. We were able to feed the kangaroos and even pet them. It was a great experience and I can only recommend it. :)

We didn‘t stay at the campground but came for the feeding. The owner is lovely and can tell you a lot about the kangaroos🦘 with 10$ pp you support him to keep the feeding going on. The kangaroos roam around completely free here and the campground also seemed very lovely with an amazing garden! We got to see the kangaroos in the garden before the feeding. Highly recommend coming here❤️

Outstanding!! Such a lovely and peaceful place. Super clean bathrooms and hot showers. The kitchen is well-equipped and the outdoor area is cozy, with beautiful art. Garry is amazing – so passionate about the kangaroos and full of knowledge about Australia’s history. We got to feed and pet the kangaroos, which was a truly special experience. Highly recommend this unique and heartwarming stay!

Amazing experience. Garry and his wife devote their lives to the care of orphaned and injured kangaroos which is incredibly inspiring. As they grow up/get better, the kangaroos come and go as they please knowing they always have a home at the sanctuary. Because of this interaction, they are not afraid of humans although of course they remain wild animals and are in no way trained for human entertainment, harmed or imprisoned for such purposes. All camp ground fees go to the care of the kangaroos and extra donations are very appreciated. Garry is very knowledgeable about kangaroos and although he has a harsh view on humanity, he's correct on many points. The facilities are excellent and all kitchenware is provided. It's also situated remotely so beautiful views onto both the mountains and the ocean + you can see the stars very well. We highly recommend paying them a visit, best to call before to book a spot!

What a lovely person and roos! I’m a backpacker who just started road trip from bundaberg to cairns. I found this place from campermate app and decided to sleep over here. I have never seen kangaroos this much close! They were so adorable and nice… Since I came to Australia I have been realizing that I was born on Earth and it’s blessing. Garry who is caring this wonderful place is so lovely person. Definitely he has the wisdom. I know someone can complain about his point but the pessimistic people always do great job for this planet. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet him and roos! Gardening is also awesome!! You can see wild peacocks in the morning 🤞

Such a lovely place, highly recommend for a visit Me and my mom found Garrys place asking on chat gpt where we could see some kangaroo in Agnes water and we couldn’t be more happy with our experience. The place is huge, full of kangaroos and peacocks and the sunset was so beautiful

The place looks great and you get really close to the kangaroos. However, the owner loves to spread his doomsday scenarios while feeding the kangaroos and some "facts" he's telling are straight up bs or misleading. He doesn't really answer questions about the topics but rather keeps ringing the same bells. I respect the work he puts in for the roos though. If you wanna spend $40 for a night and see some kangaroos, do it.

Grabbed a few pizzas from here recently and overall, pretty happy with it. The vegetarian pizza was seriously good – loads of fresh toppings like cherry tomatoes, grilled peppers, olives, and a nice pile of rocket on top. Super tasty and felt fresh. The garlic bread was also a winner – cheesy, garlicky, and full of flavor. The meat lovers pizza, though, was just alright. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn’t stand out like the others. Kinda basic compared to how good the veggie one was.

Ordered online for pickup, service was friendly and swift. Atmosphere looked great for dine in. We got the Supreme and Potato pizzas, while not the best we've ever had they were pretty bloody good and decent value 👌 Would definitely go back again.

Good pizzas. We tried 4 different flavours and the pizzas were cooked well, nice and thin and a good amount of toppings. However, they lacked the flavour you expect from a premium pizza at those prices (salami and sausage pizzas you could barely taste the meat on the pizza and the garlic pizza was a bit dry). Ambience of the restaurant is super cool with heaps of different seating arrangements. Service was also great.

Terrific pizza in Agnes Water! The pizzas here are delicious - super thin crusts topped with quality ingredients. The service is friendly and even though it's busy, you don't have to wait long for your food. BYO for no charge is a plus! No wonder it's so popular!!

A great eco developed walk through this magnificent melaluca and palm forest. All up on boardwalk or stepping stones as to not disturb any further the fragile system which is wetland undisturbed dominated by 10 meters plus grand old paper barks. Thoroughly enjoyed this small 45 minute walk

400m of a flat walk along boardwalks, sandy trails, and fun round cement steps. The paperbark trees are mature and confident in their place. Lots of ferns cover the forest floor and hug the base of trees. The light shifts constantly here with the wind allowing rays of sun to cast through to the lower forest below, an ever changing natural lightshow. Highly enjoyable easy walk.

So enjoyed this little gem! Was a great little family experience. It has a variety of walking ground to not disturb natural growth. Like partial two slate wide board walks and stepping stones through at times water. So it would be wise to be with young ones that are confident walkers the same with elderly. My only negative is, I wish it was longer, I was enjoying it so much! The town itself has many things to offer like cafes and other many natural beauties. A must visit!

Absolutely wonderful place to visit! Grade 3 walking track. 10 minute loop including time to stop and soak up your surroundings while grabbing a few photos.

Good short little walk, very nice Paperbark and Maidenhair fern forest. The stepping stones and boardwalk are great to keep your feet dry and to lessen the impact to the delicate environment. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful walk, albeit very short. It took about 10 minutes. You can even do the loop twice. I loved the paperbark trees and the informative signs about the plants.

Quiet beach that's a short walk down the bitumen to the sand. No dogs allowed unfortunately due to conservation efforts in the area, but reasonable beach for a nice stroll. Toilet facilities located at the top near the car park.

Fantastic beach in a beautiful location, with walking trails and lookouts to enjoy. With dog friendly areas which is great too.

A very lovely experience having breakfast at this place,we both had eggs Benedict, mine was with brisket that had been smoked an tasted very lovely,the brand of coffee they use has a very delightful taste. The Cafe is set in beautiful gardens an a lovely deck next to lovely big pond,a truly relaxing and peaceful place for breakfast or lunch,I will be back.

A peaceful garden escape where you can enjoy truly delicious food. Surrounded by greenery and the sound of the water fountain this place is a must stop. I enjoyed the Wagyu beef burger with delicious chips. A traditional chocolate milkshake which was one to remember. And lastly a slice of chocolate hazelnut cheesecake. The staff are happy and kind. Service was very quick which impressed me. Dog friendly area on the grass.

This was a very lucky discovery on our trip. Booked last minute and right at kitchen closing time, requesting vegan options - so I was preparing to be let down! They delivered above expectations on every count - offered to have food available when we arrived, explained which items could be made vegan and assured us they’d seat us if we were late. We arrived to find the most beautiful rainforest garden setting and exquisite cafe surrounded by nature. The service was absolutely delightful and accommodating. Our vegan wraps with house-made lentil patties, pickles and some kind of out-of-this-world relish/dressing were a massive serving and by far the best I’ve had in 10 years! The coffee on Bonsoy was perfect and even the bathroom was delightfully gorgeous and clean. I can not fault this business. I wish I’d had the chance to tell the owners in person what an absolute credit you are to your community. Who would’ve thought a cafe would be such a highlight of our visit to Agnes! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

This was the perfect place to spend the afternoon on a rainy day. The walk up to the cafe is through a beautiful rainforest garden that instantly makes you feel relaxed. I would vote Getaway as having the best coffee in Agnes Water they use Campos beans and have a variety of different milks available. The service we received was fantastic and the staff make sure that you have an enjoyable experience.

We came here after staying in our campervan in town. Needless to say as soon as we arrived it was amazing. Very funky and fresh for he area. Pros: *Modern *Plenty of outdoor room *Split bills *Fresh juice and smoothy options (I don't drink coffee *Burgers and breakfast menu at the same time Cons: *Serving time was long *Paying for bill took ages *Everything was a wait Recommendations: Absolutely amazing place and I would of given it 5 stars had the service been upto it. I think absolutely everyone was super lovely and helpful but to have one toll to order and pay, no one waiting to seat is and a billing system that requires everyone at the table involved with a split bills to be there at exactly the same time let it down. In short steam line a little and you are absolutely there for the long haul. I'll be back for sure and I recommend it to everyone!

Decided to pop in here whilst we were on a bike ride, what a find! Probably the nicest place we've been to in the area. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. The chicken pannini was enough for me. Would definitely recommend visiting if your in the area. It's nice to find a cafe that has given some thought to the customer experience. The only negative thing I can think of is that it was difficult to find, we could have easily not visited. (if you find this review useful please click like to help others find it, thanks)

This really has a small town museum feel about it highlighting the history of the town and surrounding areas especially the importance of Captain Cook to the area. It isn’t very large and the staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. There is even a quirky 100 year old orange in their collection. There isn’t a lot to see in Agnes Water so add this to your list if visiting.

What a great museum. $5 entry fee well worth it. Lots of history on Captain Cook & many artefacts to see & read. Wonderful tribute to the six young men who lost their lives in the sinking of the FV Dianne trawler off 1770 in 2017. Highly recommend.

Small but pleasant museum, which was free to enter and contained lots of information on the local history. Staff were very friendly, and it was a nice way to spend 30 minutes.

Don’t miss this fabulous museum if your in town! There’s so much to see and read about the history and Capt Cooks landing here! There is a $5 entry fee for adults only and it’s a wonderful contribution to keep the history alive! Volunteer there today was full of info and lovely to chat too, Thankyou!!

Really good museum, definitely don't miss this cheap gem when in Agnes waters. Easily spent an hour here investigating the history and reading the historic books.

Would happily eat here every day. Great food and menu choice. Great service- prompt and friendly. Atmosphere is great from music to pool tables or you can sit outside and enjoy the weather and a drink.

We had the most amazing time last Saturday night for my 50th at the Tavern. The managers and staff were amazing. Before the event they made sure we were situated in the perfect spot. And even emailed me other people that may help with my event. And during the night they made sure everything ran smoothly. It was the best night. Thank you guys.

Great freshly cooked fish. We chose the barra fillet and had them cook it in tempura batter as cocktails. The very best. Great area to side to sit in. The sweet potato Fries are the very very best I have ever tried. Amazing.

We had take away meal dinners last night. Staff were very hospitable. The sweet lips fillets were grilled perfectly, plenty of chips and the salad was huge, including beetroot AND pineapple with shredded cheese as a nice touch. Not many places do that.

We are passing through on holidays. Read such great reviews about this place. Imagine our disappointment when our food was cold. The battered fish was so greasy. I waited for 37mins for my order while others that came after us were served their food. The new owners had better get their act together or the once amazing business will suffer.

We tried the snack pack with reef fish and chips, plus the chilli calamari. The fish was cooked well and had a solid firm appearance. It was also not in any way greasy, which was great. Chips were OK too. The chilli calamari was really good, and not just those frozen rings you get elsewhere. Really fresh and nice amount of spice. Well worth the trip for a decent fish and chip meal by the beach.

Lovely staff, and nice cafe. I would recommend the Agnes wrap as it’s got all the ingredients you could want in a breakfast wrap (hollandaise, hash brown, and healthy things like tomato, spinach). My partner and his family got the eggs your way, and eggs Benedict, which were nice. Maybe a touch more salt and pepper could be added. The drinks were also refreshing. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for a solid breakfast place in Agnes.

This is the cafe to visit when travelling through Agnes. The staff are incredibly friendly and the owners even helped me a little with my beginner French. ☺️ Great coffee and pastries, even the locals who are there every morning are super friendly. It is a lovely vibe. Have enjoyed a great coffee every morning of our stay.

Absolutely love this place and make sure I visit every time I'm here from the Sunny Coast. The standard of food served is consistent across the board in terms of freshness and variety as is the coffee. I'd like to mention the lower reviews I believe are before the French owners took over, so quietly please ignore those reviews and go visit this little Agnes gem and see for yourself :) You won't be disappointed!!!!

We went here to try a vanilla slice because the 1770 Marina Cafe didn't have any (yet again). Was a great option and tasted lovely. They don't need to fill the plate up with half the can of whipped cream, though, as my only critique. I also had a fresh juice and a chicken schnitzel and chips, which was great. House-breaded and cooked in butter rather than oil, it tasted amazing! Give it a try.

We just spent three days in Agnes and we decided on day one to try breakfast here. The food was amazing so we went back the following two mornings! Tasty and worth the price.

This place did not dissapoint. It was soooo yuuum and the ladies there were very lovely! If we didn't live in FNQ we would be there daily. Also that Vanilla slice was on the top 10 things to do in Agnes Waters as the best Vanilla slice... can confirm it was DELICIOUS and lived up to its reputation. Good job ladies

Lovely Cafe with a great menu range from cookies to full meals. Indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs welcome at the verandah seating. Lisa was a great host and even though we arrived 10 mins after lunch service finished, she welcomed us.

Amazing Big Breakfast eggs cooked perfectly and very well presented and the Vienna Bread complements it perfectly and the creamy mushrooms are to die for I could drown the whole meal in them and the relish was also really nice. The only downfall I found with it was the baked beans if it was some house made beans would of went so much better with the rest of the breaky

I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience here. The coffee tasted supurb, the passionfruit slice was well made as was the raspberry and almond loaf (there was no skimping on the raspberry). Also appreciated the local beer on offer. This was a good place to stop by during the day's activities. This cafe is definitely child friendly, and the people who work here go above and beyond the call of duty. Smiles all around and always happy to serve, which complimented the great atmosphere and excellent menu selection. Card payments facilities are available on site. There is also indoor and outdoor seating.

Delicious food with daily specials. Cost the same or less than the local takeaways. Want something different - just ask Leisa and the team and they will delight you - every main is made to order. And there is a pet friendly outdoor seating area. Try it once and like us it will draw you back again and again.

The place itself is enticing and colourful, and looks like the best place to be on a hot day. The staff are lovely too. Unfortunately, my partner and I did not enjoy our icecreams, but that could’ve been partly as a result of individual taste. I chose the passionvilla and my partner got the pavlova flavour, and we both thought the gelato was heavily vanilla flavoured, and didn’t have any kick to it. Perhaps if we tried it another day and chose alternate flavours, we might be posting a different review.

Amazing... Simply amazing. Worst thing is that there are so many choices and flavours to try, and so little time to try them all. My advice... Go with what looks good... You won't be disappointed. This visit was , Pavlova, Caramel Cookie Dough, and Passionfruit Cheesecake. Weird combinations... YES. Do I regret it... NO. How else will I get through all these flavours. 😜

My family had Gelato at 1770 when we last visited Agnes Water - we were repeat customers every second night for the month we were in town, such amazing gelato and a gorgeous shop!

Great variety of flavours and dietary options! The only suggestion is to reduce the scoop size. People want to try a variety of flavours without eating an excessive amount of icecream. You eat icecream for a treat to enjoy, not to fill you up! Maybe even try making a tasting board/tub where you get 3-5 small scoops? I think this would also improve business as people can go to the shop for a SMALL sweet treat instead of having a massive meal. Edit: Please leave apple crumble on the menu as when we went today there was no apple crumble and my father was distraught, thanks!

Great find. Had the rum and raisain which was fantastic with a good rum flavour. Felt the salted caramel lacked salt but had a good caramel flavour. My wife had the mango and pistacho, the mango had chunks of mango in it and the pistachio was awesome. Shop was very clean and staff attentive. Well done guys.
