Akbar Fort, also known as Allahabad Fort, is a massive 16th-century fortress located on the banks of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers in Uttar Pradesh. The red walls and well-planned surroundings transport visitors back to the Mughal era. Inside, you can explore the Zenana, Palace of Mariam-uz-Zamani, Ashoka Pillar, Saraswati Koop, and Patalpuri temple.
Akbar Fort, named after the Mughal Emperor Akbar, was built by him in 1583 on the banks of the Ganges in Prayagraj (Allahabad). From this fort, one can have a picturesque view of the Ganges. Most of the walls are in dilapidated condition and protected by nets. Currently it is under the control of Indian Armed Forces and only a small part is open to visitors. Here, one can visit the Akshaybat temple(located on the left side). AND AVOID VISITING THE TEMPLE WHICH IS ACCESSED FROM THE RIGHT SIDE because SCAMMERS in the disguise of 'priests' will want at least ₹10 at each step for darshan of a deity and at least 15-20 are there to SCAM YOU!. Highly recommended to visit this place but don't visit the temple to the right.
Megabyte T — Google review
Situated near Sangam in Prayagraj, this fort was built by Mughal emperor Akbar in 1575. At present, only a part of this fort is open for tourists. The rest of the part is used by the Indian Army. This fort has three large galleries where there are tall towers. Tourists are allowed to visit the Ashoka Pillar, Saraswati Well and Jodhabai Palace on special occasions.

Yeah you can go there , you can eat panipuri but carry own mineral water bottle and packaged food that is hard to get. If don't want to risk .
Dhritabrata S — Google review
This fort was built by Emperor Akbar in 1583 and stands on the banks of the Yamuna River. It was designed to depict the power of the Mughal Empire. Some reviewers mention its magnificent, grand, and solid walls, as well as its intricate carvings. However, some reviewers note that only a limited area is open to visitors, and that some walls are in a falling state.

Allahabad Fort was built by the Mughal emperor Akbar at Allahabad (modern Prayagraj) in 1583. The fort stands on the banks of the Yamuna, near its confluence with the Ganges.

Anupam M — Google review
The Akbar Fort in Prayagraj, also known as Allahabad Fort, was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1583 near the confluence of the Ganges and Yamuna rivers to strengthen Mughal control in the region. It served as a vital military and administrative center, featuring grand architecture with massive walls enclosing palatial buildings and significant religious sites like the Ashoka Pillar and the Akshayavat tree. The fort's strategic location and historical importance made it a landmark, although much of it is now used by the army, limiting public access. Construction and Purpose Commissioned by Akbar: Emperor Akbar commissioned the construction of the fort in 1583, naming the city "Ilahabas," meaning "abode of God," which evolved into Allahabad. Strategic Location: The fort was strategically built on the banks of the Yamuna River near its confluence with the Ganges (Triveni Sangam) to control the region and strengthen Mughal authority. Architectural and Religious Features Massive Walls and Towers: The fort is known for its grand architecture, featuring massive outer walls, three main galleries, and high towers. Internal Structures: Within the fort's walls are buildings like the Zenana (women's quarters), a palace, and barracks for soldiers. Ashoka Pillar: A significant historical artifact, the Ashoka Pillar from the 3rd century BC, was relocated to the fort from Kaushambi and bears the edicts of Emperor Ashoka. Akshayavat: The fort encloses the "Akshayavat," or immortal banyan tree, a tree of immense religious significance with legendary stories of its indestructibility and connection to Hindu mythology. Patalpuri Temple and Saraswati Koop: The fort also houses the ancient underground Patalpuri Temple and the Saraswati Koop, believed to be the source of the mythical Saraswati River. Later History Maratha and British Era: The fort changed hands over centuries, passing to the Marathas before being ceded to the British in 1798 and used by the East India Company, which even built a railway track to it for military purposes. Present-Day Status: The fort is currently managed by the Indian Army, and while its outer walls are a recognizable landmark, access to the interior is limited, with only a portion open to the public.

The Akbar Fort (Allahabad Fort) in Prayagraj is a magnificent historical landmark, strategically built by Emperor Akbar in 1583 at the holy Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers. Its location alone imbues it with immense historical and religious significance, making it a powerful symbol of the convergence of Mughal power and Hindu pilgrimage. As the largest fort built by Akbar, it showcases the grandeur and strategic brilliance of Mughal architecture, with its towering walls, massive gates, and impressive craftsmanship. While a large portion of the fort is under the control of the Indian Army and inaccessible to civilians, the publicly accessible areas hold key attractions that are vital to India's heritage. Inside the fort, you can visit the revered Patalpuri Temple, an underground shrine, and the famous Akshaya Vat (immortal banyan tree), which is central to Hindu mythology.

Shri Bade Hanuman Ji Mandir, also known as Hanuman Temple, is a revered pilgrimage site located near the Sangam in Allahabad. The temple is unique for its underground construction and houses a reclining statue of Lord Hanuman. Visitors can experience the deeply spiritual atmosphere and witness the serene image of Hanuman resting in the holy waters of the Ganges. This popular pilgrim spot attracts devotees and tourists alike, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays, dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
Visiting Shri Bade Hanuman Ji Mandir was truly a soul-stirring experience. Nestled near the historic Sangam in Prayagraj, the temple holds an aura of deep spiritual power and peace. The unique aspect — Hanuman Ji lying in a reclining posture — immediately captures the devotion and imagination of every visitor. The temple atmosphere is vibrant yet serene, filled with the scent of incense and the echoes of heartfelt prayers. Devotees from all walks of life gather here, offering flowers, sweets, and their sincerest wishes. Despite the crowds, the temple management keeps everything quite organized, allowing everyone their moment with the deity. What also stands out is the belief among devotees that Hanuman Ji's idol rises slightly during the annual floods, symbolizing his divine protection over Prayagraj. This blend of devotion, legend, and living faith makes the experience even more magical.

The temple is unique because it houses a reclining idol of Lord Hanuman, a rare representation that draws thousands of devotees. Situated near the sacred Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, the temple holds immense religious significance. During festivals like Hanuman Jayanti and the Magh Mela, the temple is thronged by pilgrims seeking blessings for strength, courage, and protection. Shri Bade Hanuman Ji Mandir remains a spiritual landmark, blending devotion, faith, and cultural heritage in Prayagraj.

Bade Hanuman Mandir, also called Lete Hanuman Ji Mandir, is one of the most famous temples in Prayagraj, located near the Triveni Sangam and close to the Allahabad Fort. The temple is known for its unique idol of Lord Hanuman in a reclining posture, which lies about 6–8 feet below ground level. During the monsoon season, when the Ganga’s water level rises, part of the idol often becomes submerged, which devotees consider very auspicious. The temple is believed to be around 600 to 700 years old and attracts thousands of visitors, especially on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and during Kumbh Mela. It remains open daily from around 5:00 AM to 8:30 or 9:00 PM, and its spiritual atmosphere makes it a major attraction in Prayagraj.
Vikas G — Google review
"I really liked this place. Not only from Prayagraj or India, but people from other islands also come here to visit Bade Hanuman Ji." On the sacred banks of Triveni Sangam, where three rivers meet, there's always something new to see and always some kind of improvement happening. My experience was quite good.

Shri Bade Hanuman Ji Mandir, Prayagraj A very peaceful and spiritual temple near Triveni Sangam. The reclining idol of Hanuman Ji is unique and attracts many devotees. The place is well-managed, and the atmosphere is full of devotion. Truly a must-visit in Prayagraj.

"यदि आप प्रयागराज आ रहे हैं, तो तीर्थराज प्रयाग के दर्शन के बाद श्री बड़े हनुमान जी के दर्शन अवश्य करें .." On the sacred banks of Triveni Sangam, where Ganga, Yamuna & Saraswati rivers meet, a sacred and divine temple of Shri Hanuman Ji known as Shri Bade Hanuman Ji (Shri Hanuman Ji in reclining position) temple is situated. The idol of Hanuman Ji is in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple which is 8.10 feet below the temple. During monsoon season when the water level rises, it’s believed that Ganga river touches the feet of reclining Shri Hanuman Ji and people from all over India to see this unique and revered sight. This temple holds an aura of deep spiritual power and peace. Take a dip in the Sangam before visiting for a more sacred experience. Darshan takes about 1 hour, pooja articles are sold all around the temple, footwear stands are also available around the temple, prasad is available inside the temple and these are all good sides. Unfortunately many devotees walk in through the wrong side with staff for a quick darshan which is extremely wrong. And Govt. here does not provide proper facilities for devotees, there’s no shade to protect devotees from sun or rain, there is no drinking water facility. Recommended : -Visit early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid crowds. -Keep shoes in vehicle if that option is available.

This temple is a centre of great devotion for Hindus and is worth visiting. Huge crowds gather here on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Devotees who take bath in Sangam do not forget to visit here. The water of Ganga touches Lord Hanuman and after that the water of Ganga recedes. When the water level in Ganga and Yamuna rises, people come here from far and wide to see this sight. The idol of Hanumanji is installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple which is 8.10 feet below the temple ✨.

Saraswati Ghat, nestled along the sacred banks of the Ganges in Allahabad, is a captivating destination that draws both devotees and nature lovers alike. This revered bathing ghat serves as a spiritual haven where visitors engage in religious rituals and seek purification through holy dips. The ghat is beautifully embellished with intricate sculptures and vibrant paintings that narrate tales from Hindu mythology, adding to its charm.
Fastest & most convenient way to have a holy dip at Sangam. Sarasavati Ghat also called Defence Ghat is a very clean & well managed place. Take a boat to reach *Sangam Point ( converging point of holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna & Saraswati)* located in the middle of the river. Sangam point is an artificially created area with knee deep water for convenient holy baths. It takes just 1 hour to go & return after bath. Boats available for defence personnel at subsidised rates. Private boats are also available. Not crowded even during the Mahakumbh time.

Visited Saraswati Ghat during Maha Kumb Mela. Crowd was well managed and boats arranged easily. Clean place with a good view.
Sheethal K — Google review
This was a much cleaner ghat as compared to other ghats because maximum crowd was taking a dip at sangam ghat so this one was spared of all the rush and messiness. You can even catch a boat here but prices fluctuate so can always negotiate. There are changing rooms but those are very dirty not because it wasn’t getting cleaned but because of people who lack civic sense and consider every covered place as their toilet.

I had the chance to visit Saraswati Ghat in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, a few days ago, and it was an evening I'll always remember. The ghats were buzzing with energy, with people gathered to soak in the beauty of the Ganges River. As the sun began to set, the sky transformed into a canvas of warm hues, casting a golden glow over the water. I took a stroll along the ghats, taking in the vibrant atmosphere. The sound of laughter, music, and chanting filled the air, creating an infectious sense of joy. The ghats were lined with colorful boats, their reflections rippling in the water as the sun dipped lower. As I walked, I noticed the intricate carvings and sculptures adorning the temples and shrines nearby. The blend of ancient architecture and the lively atmosphere was captivating. People from all walks of life were gathered, sharing stories, taking dips in the river, or simply sitting in silence, taking in the tranquility. The highlight of my visit was watching the Ganga aarti, a mesmerizing ceremony with lamps, incense, and chanting. The energy was palpable, and I felt a deep connection to the place and its people. As the stars began to twinkle in the night sky, I reluctantly bid farewell to Saraswati Ghat, already planning my next visit. If you're looking for a spot that combines spirituality, beauty, and community, Saraswati Ghat is an absolute must-visit.

Saraswati Ghat in Haridwar is an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is full of devotion, with the sound of bhajans, temple bells, and the sight of countless diyas floating on the river. The snan (bathing) facilities are available along the ghats, where many devotees take a holy dip before the aarti." Around the ghat, there are many food and tea vendors, offering chai, pakoras, sweets, and light snacks, which are perfect for enjoying after the aarti. There are also many shops selling religious items, souvenirs, Rudraksha malas, idols, and Ganga water bottles, making it a great place for shopping. Despite the crowd, the energy and devotion in the air make this a must-visit spot in Haridwar. If you are visiting, be mindful of pickpockets and ensure you respect the religious sentiments of the place. Saraswati Ghat in Haridwar is a sacred and significant spot for pilgrims and visitors, mainly due to its association with the Saraswati River, which is believed to be a mythical river mentioned in the ancient Vedic texts. The ghat holds spiritual importance because it is considered a place of purification, where devotees come to take holy dips, perform rituals, and pay homage to ancestors.

Triveni Sangam, located in Allahabad, India, is a significant tourist destination due to its historical and religious importance. It is the confluence of three sacred rivers - Ganges, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati. The distinct colors of these rivers remain separate as they meet at this auspicious junction. Hindus believe that bathing here can cleanse them of sins and liberate them from the cycle of rebirth.
My second time visit to this incredible place. The place was crowded due to mahakumbh but the government maintained maximum cleanliness and security. The atmosphere is magical. Avoid months like June and July (summer). I had my first visit at the time of June and this time it was February (Late winter).

This place is in park known as Madan mohan malviya park or minto park. The park has greenery but it is not well maintained. Lack of grasses. It can look better and gain more visitors if renovated. Barbeque Nation in Allahabad, located at P Square Mall, is part of a popular food chain in India known for its unique dining experience. The restaurant features grills on each table, allowing diners to cook their own barbecue. The casual and cozy atmosphere is enhanced by the wooden and brick walls. Guests can enjoy not only delicious food but also entertaining service as staff members engage in activities like dancing while serving meals.

Perfect spot to hang out with friends or family for lunch. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for unlimited food + unlimited fun in Prayagraj!

I recently visited Barbeque Nation in Prayagraj and had a pleasant experience overall. 1. The restaurant had a clean and inviting ambience. 2. There was a wide variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes to choose from. 3. The starters and desserts stood out, offering great flavors and variety. 4. However, I found the main course to be somewhat average, though the non-vegetarian biryani was enjoyable. 5. The breads, especially the butter naan, garlic naan could be improved, as they were very thin and lacked substance. There’s room for improvement in the quality of the main course and the breads they serve. Despite that, the service was excellent—attentive to extra requests and willing to offer items beyond the menu when available. They also consistently checked in to ensure everything met expectations.

I recently visited BBQ Nation and had a fantastic experience! The food was absolutely delicious — from the starters to the main course and desserts, everything was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The variety and quality truly stood out. But what made the visit even more special was the exceptional service. The staff was extremely polite, friendly, and attentive throughout. A special thanks to Manager Binod, whose warm welcome and professionalism were truly appreciated. Also, a big shoutout to Ajay from the serving staff — he was incredibly helpful, courteous, and made sure we were comfortable at every step. Overall, a memorable dining experience. Great food, amazing ambiance, and top-notch hospitality. Highly recommended!

The best experience in a buffet after a long time. I never went to this place in Prayagraj. Since school times thought it mustn't be that good. But man they are very good. The food is very good. Considering a buffet the quality of food is very good. The servers were very very good. They were very attentive and catered to our needs. Asking for any dietary requirements and any known allergies. Never heard any server ask this in Prayagraj ever before. The food is actually commendable and the quality is very good. Fun fact is that you must be very hungry to even complete the Food. There is though a lot less options of Drinks for non alcoholic beverages. The drinks they served was okayish. But they do serve alcoholic beverages. The buffet is a treat if you get over with the starters and the crispy corn. We went honestly for a birthday. The birthday boy got a birthday dance and a free cake. If you love cakes order from outside, theirs is very bad. Do not depend on their cake. Thanks Barbeque Nation can't wait to come there soon for cheat meal.

I have visited this branch for the first time, I had great experiences with this food chain especially in the DELHI NCR region. It is located on the 5th floor, the occasion was my birthday and anniversary. The starters are perfect with complimentary drinks. Gradually we moved to the buffet section for lunch, they had dal makhani, mix veg, dal tadka, noodles, Manchurian, paneer gravy, steamed rice and biryani with desserts like angoori gulab jamun, moongdal halwa, sevaayi, ice creams. We ended with mango kulfi and paan kulfi. Service was amazing, the head chef was caring. Will visit again.

Chandrashekhar Azad Park, the largest park in the city, is a blend of heritage and recreational sites. Established in 1870 to commemorate Prince Alfred's visit, it houses the renowned Allahabad Museum with its impressive collection of stone sculptures, terracottas, coins, and paintings. The museum also features an outdoor display of archaeological sculptures.
Chandra Shekhar Azad Park in Prayagraj is a beautiful, spacious park with lots of greenery. I enjoyed walking around and just sitting quietly in the calm atmosphere. The historical significance of the place adds to its charm, knowing it’s linked to Chandra Shekhar Azad. Some areas could use better maintenance, like the jogging track and pond, but overall it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy nature while also feeling connected to history.

Chandra Shekhar Azad Park is not only the green lungs of Prayagraj, offering peace and fresh air amidst the city’s bustle, but also a living monument to India’s freedom struggle. It stands as a symbol of courage and sacrifice, for it was here that the revolutionary Chandra Shekhar Azad made his last stand against British forces in 1931. Every pathway, monument, and memorial within the park reminds visitors of its dual identity — a place of natural beauty and recreation, and a historic landmark that inspires patriotism and keeps alive the memory of those who fought for the nation’s independence.”

Located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India, the Allahabad Museum is a renowned national-level museum established in 1931. Initially a natural history museum, it has expanded to showcase an impressive collection of stone sculptures, terracottas, coins, archaeological objects and paintings. The museum's galleries feature artifacts from various historical sites such as Mathura, Bhumra, Khajuraho and Gandhara.
I recently visited the Allahabad Museum and had a great experience. It’s a peaceful and well-maintained place full of Indian history, art, and culture. I especially liked the Nehru Gallery and the section related to Bhagat Singh. A must-visit for history lovers in Prayagraj! Take photos was allowed but not videos

This is a great place to visit. But it has so many wings that one can spend some days for those who relish the reminiscences of the Indian freedom fighting as well as Indian historic sculpture and artefacts there are other galleries too including a great library. The pistol of Sri Chandrasekhar is a very interesting exhibit. For school students and not to mention research scholars there is a lot of learning. Average visitors should have a few hours in their hand for visiting this epic museum.

The Allahabad Museum is a hidden gem in Prayagraj, especially for history and art lovers. The exhibits are well-organized and cover a wide range of topics—from ancient sculptures and coins to modern Indian art and the freedom movement. One of the highlights is the gallery dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi and the personal items of Nehru. The building itself is spacious and surrounded by a beautiful park, offering a peaceful environment. However, the lighting and signage inside could be improved for a better viewing experience. Also, some sections felt a bit outdated and could use better maintenance. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a few hours learning about India’s rich heritage. Highly recommended if you’re in the city!

I went to Amethi(UP)and on my way back to home we had our train from prayagraj, hence I had to kill the layover time and after a very haphazard search on internet i stumbled upon this museum . It was humongous, and was surrounded by a much bigger park . the atmosphere was peaceful and refreshing, people were doing their exercises, running, walking, students coming in groups , hanging out .o Entry to the park costs just ₹10, and the museum ticket is ₹100 — totally worth it! The cleanliness and maintenance of the entire space truly impressed me. The museum itself is a treasure trove of Indian history and culture. I was amazed by the detailed galleries dedicated to the Indian Independence Movement, featuring stories and exhibits on events like the Komagata Maru incident, Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom, the Writer’s Building attack, and a lot more regarding which i attached pictures too. It was both moving and informative. I can't articulate the number of wonders k came across, in distinctively divided sections of the museum containing sculptures , recent archaeological finds, even exhibition of paintings done by people recently. There are also incredible collections of archaeological artefacts, including ancient coins, sculptures, fossils, and beautiful paintings, stamps collection of Older India. The diversity and depth of the exhibits kept me completely engaged, for around one and half hours. Though my visit was unplanned, it ended up becoming the highlight of my journey. If you’re in Prayagraj, even for a few hours, I’d highly recommend visiting the Allahabad Museum, it’s a beautiful blend of history, art, and calm surroundings.

Chandrashekhar Azad Park (Company Bagh), the Allahabad Museum stands as a prestigious institution and a brilliant repository of India's glorious past. Established in 1931, it is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, art, and the nation's freedom struggle. The museum’s collection is vast and impressively diverse, spread across approximately 16 galleries. Key highlights include an extensive collection of ancient sculptures and terracotta art from the Ganga-Yamuna valley (especially from Kaushambi and Bharhut), offering a deep look into early Indian art and archaeology. A significant part of the museum is dedicated to modern history. The Gandhi Gallery and the Nehru Personal Collection provide intimate glimpses into the lives of the freedom fighters, featuring rare photographs and original manuscripts. Most famously, the pistol of revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad is preserved and displayed here, adding an intensely patriotic layer to the visit. The unique collection of 19 paintings by Russian artist Nicholas Roerich also makes this museum internationally notable.

Indian sweets shop
Netram Moolchand & Sons, established in 1855 in Allahabad's Katra Chouraha area, is a popular spot known for its delectable kachoris and aaloo sabzi. The kachoris are deep-fried in desi ghee and filled with spicy urad dal, while the accompanying sabzi is equally flavorful. Despite being crowded, it's worth the wait to savor their signature Kachori plate served all day.
Netram Moolchand is one of those rare establishments with deep roots established over a century ago (since 1855) and still going strong in its 5th generation. It is not just a food shop it’s part of the cultural and culinary identity of old Katra in Prayagraj. The shop is known for authentic local flavours pure desi ghee is used, especially in kachori/puri and sweets, which gives a richness and aroma that many places lack. Their preparations jalebi, dahi-jalebi, kachori with sabzi, etc. maintain a tradition, a taste of classic Prayagraj food. Many people praise Netram for offering hearty, satisfying plates of food at reasonable prices. For instance, the kachori/puri plate comes with multiple sabzis, chutney, raita etc., often without charging extra for the sabzi. For a place with such legacy and taste, the fact that it remains accessible to many is a big plus. Because it’s so old and well-known, visiting Netram Moolchand is more than eating it’s entering a space full of memories, nostalgia, stories. Locals, visitors, students many kinds of people gather here. Even the crowd is part of its charm busy, bustling, but part of the experience. Waiting in line, sharing tables, talking over food this creates a vibe that is uniquely local. Despite being busy, despite changing times, people still flock here. That speaks to consistency in taste, in reputation. It’s a place many would recommend to a visitor: “you haven’t really tasted Prayagraj until you try Netram Moolchand.” Along with savouries, sweets are an important part of their offer from the jalebis to laddus, barfis, etc. The sweet-shop tradition is kept alive.

I don't know about any other reviews but I have been eating their food and sweets since I was a kid. Especially their sweets, they haven't changed it's taste since the first time I had them. I recently visited this place with my best friend and was quite impressed with both the museum and the planetarium. The entire area is very well-maintained — the greenery is lush and taken care of, and cleanliness is clearly a priority. To visit the planetarium, you need to purchase tickets, but they are quite affordable and definitely worth the price. The show was informative and engaging, making the experience memorable. The museum, which focuses on Nehru family is also quite impressive. Each exhibit feels authentic and thoughtfully curated. It gave me a deeper understanding of Nehru family life, values, and the lifestyle of leaders during that era. Overall, it was a meaningful and educational experience.

A very Big bungalow looks a luxurious lifestyle of natives. After seeing the first impressions appeared as Nehru ji a royal family person, enjoying superb comfortable life. The museum shown the history of nehru ji family. That is Nehru Dynasty. Not much about other freedom fighter heroes. Visiting Anand Bhawan Museum was an enriching experience for me and my friend. Once the residence of the Nehru family, this elegant mansion offers a rare glimpse into the personal lives of leaders who played a central role in the political scene of then Indian and in India’s freedom struggle. The museum is well preserved and maintained. Walking through Nehru’s study, Indira Gandhi’s room, and the family drawing room and watching the collection of photographs, personal belongings, handwritten letters, and Nehru’s vast library brought alive the stories I had and hadn't read about in books. The museum also gives you an insight into the lifestyle of the politically powerful and rich family of the time. The presence of the Jawahar Planetarium and the book store in the same complex adds a refreshing and educational dimension to the visit. Overall, Anand Bhawan is a recommended visit for anyone who's interested in history, heritage, and reflection. It will definitely be an informative trip if you take your time exploring and reading.

University of Allahabad – My Alma Mater The University of Allahabad, established in 1887, holds a truly special place in my heart. As my alma mater, it has been more than just an academic institution—it has been a transformative journey where I learned, grew, and discovered so much about life and myself. The campus itself is a beautiful blend of architectural styles. From Hellenistic influences to majestic domes and intricately designed arches, the university stands as a testament to historical depth and cultural richness. Every building tells a story, creating an atmosphere that inspires learning and introspection. One of the most remarkable aspects of my experience was the dedication of the professors. Each one poured their heart and soul into teaching, going beyond textbooks to ensure that students truly understood and connected with the material. Their passion was contagious and deeply motivating. The senior students also played a vital role in shaping the university environment. They were kind, supportive, and always willing to guide juniors—not just in academics, but in navigating campus life as well. Their genuine care created a strong sense of community and camaraderie. Reflecting back, my time at the University of Allahabad was a wonderful experience—rich in knowledge, friendships, and unforgettable memories. It’s a place that shaped who I am today, and I will always carry its legacy with pride.

Certainly the worst pizza in the city. Firstly they didn't deliver as per my order. Moreover, the pizza was completely tasteless. I wish Google had option of negative stars, so that cumulative rating should have come to zero! Such was my experience, Totally disappointed.
Aviral S — Google review
Pizza tast was just average.... didn't found great vibe .I ordered yum tum pizza which was spinach and paneer makhani sauce pizza bt there was not single taste of it I found it was just overloaded with mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce was tasting like a tomato ketchup . pizza was 400 with GST bt i didn't found it worth. Then we ordered cheese pav bhaji and brownie, cheese pav bhaji was also okayish it was not so cheese only they added few mozzarella cheese in bhaji and vegetable was not mashed properly then if talk about brownie it's tast amazing bt it was not soft even it was little hard to cut.

The worst experience I ever had. They had only two pizza varieties. Salad was also below average. You had to tell them every now and then to refill the salad. The service was hopeless. No professionalism. I would rate them negative if allowed.
Anand D — Google review
The pizza eating experience could not be worse than being here. Extremely costly for the size and quality of pizza they serve. The pizza that should cost around Rs. 70-80 costs Rs. 225. And the taste is also not good enough.

Nestled in the Civil Lines area of Allahabad, Eat On may appear unassuming, but it's a must-visit for those seeking authentic North Indian cuisine. This eatery is renowned for its delectable chicken biryani and succulent mutton kebabs, drawing crowds with its flavorful offerings. Despite its modest appearance, Eat On stands out as one of the top spots to savor outstanding biryanis and kebabs in the city at budget-friendly prices.
The Best of places to have #Non Veg #Biryani and Kebab paratha in Prayagraj(Allahabad) The place is beautifully carved with a lovely ambiance to enjoy your meal (#Self Service) Cold Drink option also available 🥤 The Service is very quick with and hygienic Chicken Biryani 9/10 Kebab paratha 8/10 Ambience 9/10 Packaging 10/10 Price 9/10 Very Good Place must try for Bloggers and Food lovers 😇
Sudhanshu P — Google review
After a long day spent sightseeing, we were in search of a good place to have lunch. We stumbled upon Eat On in Civil Lines. At first sight, it looked a bit too casual with no chairs and roof. The prices got us slightly worried as well, since it was too cheap. We decided to order food anyway, considering the massive crowd, the beautiful smell from the open air kitchen, and recommendations from friends. We got the kebab+biryani combo for Rs. 140. Since it is a self-service outlet, we had to pay and then get the food ourselves. The service was quick. We then found a table, and then dug in. The biryani was extremely tasty. It wasn't too spicy, and the balance of flavours was very good. The piece of chicken was big enough for the price. The shami kebab was most probably made with minced chicken. It was very good as well. The chutney went well with both the kebab and the biryani. There is RO drinking water and normal water available here, and you can purchase soft drinks as well. Good place to get a quick meal.

I ordered Veg Biryani through the IRCTC Food On Track app. I chose this place because its price was similar to the one offered by the train pantry. And Hell yes! it was a good decision. The quality of the Biryani was top notch. The quantity was enough for two people. The behaviour of the delivery person was also very good. Overall it deserves the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating.

This place need no explanation. This is the most famous Chicken Biryani spot for biryani lovers of Prayagraj(Allahabad)& nearby areas. I'm from Varanasi and I'm a big fan of their Biryani. Believe me it tastes different. Whenever I get a chance to visit Prayagraj I surely visit here. They serve Half plate for ₹80(1 chicken piece) & Full plate for ₹140(2 piece chicken) with Raita & Onion salad. They now have Mutton Kabab, Paratha in their menu too. ₹50 for 1 piece kabab & ₹20 for 1 paratha. It's a must have place for Non-Vegetarian people. Recommended with a big thumbs up 👍

This is best place for the chicken biryani, if you are in Prayagraj and you’re searching for the biryani then please don’t waste your time Visit directly to Eat On. Also this place is very region able and cost friendly. You’ll have to spend only ₹95 per Half plate and believe me half plate is enough for one person. Also kebab is also very tasty. I’ll definitely recommend this place. I’m sure if you’ll visit once and you’ll visit again and again. That’s all from my side.

Nice cosy cafe, with great food options and a decent decor. The food quality is excellent. Mostly young crowd is there and sometimes kitty party crowd. The service time is good and the staff is polite and helpful. Music collection is also great. Cafe is part of Hotel Orchard One.

It was good overall; good ambience, okayish music (all mainstream songs) with nice lighting everywhere. But very slow service, the dishes were good but as customer they took a lot of time to come to the table, the waiter wasn't even updating us on how much time to go and so on. That's why it lost a star, other than being expensive. It's a good place to go with friends more than family, just a vibe.

Swaraj Bhawan Museum, formerly known as Anand Bhawan, is a historical gem that offers visitors a glimpse into the rich legacy of the Nehru family and India's freedom struggle. Here's some key information about it: * What it is: A historic mansion that was once the ancestral home of the Nehru-Gandhi family. * Significance: It played a crucial role in India's freedom struggle, hosting many important political figures and meetings. * Museum Highlights: * Personal Belongings: Displays personal items of the Nehru family, offering a glimpse into their lives. * Historical Artifacts: Showcases objects related to India's independence movement. * Jawahar Planetarium: Located within the complex, it provides educational experiences about astronomy.

A well maintained historical place as it's the house of Indian political leader Motilal Nehru and being home to the Nehru family until 1930. But the behaviour of the guards was not good, though it was not crowded they continuously told you to take the exit.
SOUMYA — Google review
Ticket per head is around 100 and varies and it depends on which level you explore. The place has lush of green around it's quite for most of the time. You can see all about nehru and how he ascended to become the prime minister as it's the place where nehru stayed. It was later given to congress party for using as a party office. You can see the desk of Gandhi and the place where he stayed and all about it.The cleanliness is quite good. For such a big area the cleanliness is good .CONGRATS for good maintenance. You can also visit the Indira house and see abt it.I would suggest first see the nehru house and then come to Indira house as you could have some idea of how she become the pm of her time. There is also some show regarding the ISRO but quite get the chance to see it but it's for about 45 mins and they are scheduled for specific times you can watch those. Totally it would take you around 45 mins if you just scroll through everything,if you go to in detail and read all about their achievements and the history it can take upto as high as 2 -2:30 hrs.So.plan accordingly and visit the place. The place closes at 5pm.

Akash U — Google review
Swaraj Bhawan in Prayagraj (formerly known as Allahabad) is an iconic historical mansion that now functions as a museum symbolizing the Indian freedom struggle and the Nehru family’s legacy. Originally called Anand Bhavan, meaning "Abode of Bliss," it was the residence of the Nehru family, notably Motilal Nehru and his son Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister. Established as a museum in 1970 and maintained by the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, Swaraj Bhawan holds a special place in India’s political and cultural history. The building itself has a rich backstory. Constructed initially in 1871 as Mahmud Manzil, it was later bought by Motilal Nehru in 1900 for Rs 19,000. Nehru transformed the structure from a simple bungalow into a grand mansion befitting a prominent political family. Its high-ceilinged rooms witnessed many historic meetings and campaigns during the freedom movement, where leaders planned and strategized for India’s independence. The mansion became a hub for the Indian National Congress activities in the early 20th century and was renamed Swaraj Bhawan, meaning "House of Self-Rule," reflecting its central role in the nationalist movement. Today, Swaraj Bhawan Museum has 42 rooms featuring a vast collection of photographs, letters, artifacts, and personal belongings of the Nehru family and freedom fighters. Among the prized exhibits is a charkha (spinning wheel) used by Mahatma Gandhi, symbolizing the Swadeshi movement’s emphasis on self-reliance. The museum’s walls are adorned with historic photographs capturing India's struggle for freedom, vivid portraits of leaders, and moments from significant events. These visual and physical artifacts offer visitors a deep, immersive connection to the past. Notably, the museum contains an underground room where secret meetings of freedom fighters were held. This adds a layer of intrigue and historic gravity to the site. In addition to historical exhibits, the museum grounds include beautiful gardens and lawns where visitors can relax and reflect on the nation’s journey. Swaraj Bhawan also houses the Jawahar Planetarium, named after Jawaharlal Nehru, which is one of the more popular attractions featuring daily shows about astronomy in both Hindi and English. These shows appeal not only to children and students but also to adults, making the planetarium an engaging educational venue. The museum offers a range of experiences, including a regular audiovisual program titled "The Story of Independence," which narrates key episodes of India's freedom movement and the Nehru family's contributions. This program enriches the visitor's understanding and appreciation of India’s path to becoming a sovereign nation. Access to Swaraj Bhawan is affordable, with nominal entry fees that encourage both locals and tourists to visit. The museum operates mainly during the daytime, and visitors can expect to spend one to two hours exploring the mansion and its exhibitions. Swaraj Bhawan is more than a museum; it is a living monument to India’s struggle for freedom and the Nehru family’s pivotal role in shaping the nation. It provides a unique window into history, combining architectural splendor, personal narratives, and national heritage. For historians, students, tourists, and patriots alike, Swaraj Bhawan Museum remains a must-visit landmark in Prayagraj.

No match with the food in picture and food delivered. Every quantity has been minimizer. Btw I had applied a coupon code of 100 rupees for 1st time order. And thats why my price is little bit low. But this should not affecd the quality of food as the discount I got on zomato offer. Also the delivery boy want my phone and given the resturent 5 star so dont watch their points rating on zomato. Those are all false.

Restaurant
Shahi Darbar is a versatile restaurant offering a variety of cuisines including North Indian, Chinese, and fast food. Their biryani is highly recommended and can be paired with a refreshing shikanji. The establishment also caters to hookah enthusiasts with a range of flavors available. While some patrons find the seating arrangements lacking, others appreciate the friendly owner and the homely atmosphere.
the best place for hukkaa and food is also cheap and best.about the environment i will say it feel like home

Just okay place .... Light condition bad for photography But service is good
Sandeep S — Google review
Shahi darbar is known for Hukka or Sheesha and snacks, the place is underground or more like a big basement, with low light and Basic HUKKA. If you're looking for low budget and a little shady place you can defenitely go here, But if you're looking for a good open place and a little comfort you should go somewhere else.

The restaurant offers a blend of traditional and modern influences in its cuisine to cater to various preferences. Situated in Lukerganj, it provides fast service with minimal waiting time and offers delicious options in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian categories at moderate prices.
The Vintage Kitchen is a great place to dine in and enjoy the food. The taste is good and it also has good ambience with an option to dine inside or enjoy food outside with the lawn view.

This is a fine place to dine! Situated in lukerganj, the restaurant provide tasty food to its customers. Service is fast and usually there's very less waiting for food. They have really good food both in Veg and Non veg category. Their price is moderate. Overall i find this place good to eat. Also, when you are planning to visit any place in group, do try them as it would be generally more affordable as compare to other restaurants.

This place is located near OYO 13097, Lukerganj. I had their Paneer Butter Masala, Amritsari Dumaloo, Veg Pulao, Honey Chilli Potato, Chilli Paneer, Chicken Biryani and Fruit Cream. The Amritsari Dumaloo was one of the best Dumaloo I've ever tried. Chicken Biryani was average. Fruit Cream also had Kiwi 🥝 in it.

Food quality not very good... They use disposables as cutlery... Service is also very slow... The only good thing is it's ambience...

🍗🍗🍗 Place-@vintagekitchen__ Giving justice to It's name the restaurant has vintage theme, which delights the eye and triggers nostalgia. The place is spacious and comfy to hangout with friends & family. I hope vintage kitchen will receive same amount of love & support as @thepantrycarallahabad. 🍗 Name-Chicken lollipop Price- ₹150 {Pocket Friendly} (Highly Recommended) It was a hot and spicy appetizer made with drummettes coated with lots of flavoursome spices, some of the ingredients which were used was - red chilli powder, soya sauce, garlic paste, corn flour. It was crispy on the outside, juicy and succulent on the inside. Loaded with protein, this non vegetarian dish took my heart!! (Check our story hightlights for more) Any doubts? It is in one of the bylanes in the nice locality. The interior and seating are really nice. The place itself looks old. There must be some history. The staff - though very few- are courteous. Food was served with in 10 minutes. I tried Veg dishes, rotis and Nan Rotis. The paneer is awesome. I really liked the food and ate stomach full. The price is reasonable for such nice restaurant. The hygeine is good. They did not have a wash basin or bathroom in the restaurant!?? I am surprised that there are hardly anyone dining inside the restaurant. They are either partying in the lawn or Swiggying. If this restaurant is in Hyderabad, There would be at least an hour waiting just to get in. May be people don't dine out much in Allahabad or whatever. If I ever go back to Allahabad(???) this place would be one of the reasons.

$$$$expensive
Restaurant
Bar
The Brewmaster in Allahabad is a popular addition to the city's dining scene, offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The menu includes a variety of options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, with sizzlers and starters being particularly noteworthy. The restaurant has a well-lit dining area and a darker lounge with background music, making it suitable for young people as well as family outings.
Delicious food at very nominal price. The sizzlers, other starters and the main course were too good for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. The ambience is good, the restaurant is well lit up and the lounge is darker. There is music playing in the background. This restaurant is good for young people as well as for family outings.

Very bad experience I had it was...I forgot my gifts but wen they returned my gifts, were all open, even my all chocolates were already eaten by staff members. I got only flowers it should not like this it was my birthday and I felt very hurt very bad guys.. you took all your payment very clearly but when it’s time to look after the customer service what you guys did with us. Very pathetic experience See the photos what staff members did with my gifts. How cheap Staff I’ll take this to social now.

Ambience is good. Food is okay. But the service is very slow. They take more time to serve you in comparison with with other restaurants. Good for people who like to go kinda isolated and less crowded places.

This restaurant has variety of foods both veg and non-veg. Butter chicken is my favorite dish here. It's has bar and DJ also for full entertainment. But comparitively, it's expensive than others.
