Jay Jagannath Jagannath Temple, Puri – A Divine Journey Beyond Words 🌸 Visiting the Jagannath Temple in Puri is not just a trip — it’s a soulful experience that stays with you forever. The moment you step inside the temple premises, you can feel a wave of divine energy surrounding you. The chants of “Jai Jagannath” echo through the air, and the rhythmic sound of bells creates an atmosphere filled with devotion and peace. The temple’s architecture is absolutely breathtaking — a true reflection of Odisha’s ancient culture and craftsmanship. Every stone tells a story, every sculpture holds deep meaning. Watching the majestic flag flying atop the temple, always fluttering against the wind, fills your heart with faith and wonder. The darshan of Lord Jagannath, along with Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, is an unforgettable experience. Their divine presence brings an indescribable sense of calm and joy. The temple’s mahaprasad (holy offering) is not just food — it feels like a blessing. The purity, taste, and the way it’s served inside the Anand Bazaar make it a unique experience in itself. The people of Puri are humble and deeply spiritual, and the temple’s surroundings are filled with devotion and cultural beauty. Whether you visit during the famous Rath Yatra or on a regular day, the feeling is always the same — pure, sacred, and deeply emotional. In every sense, the Jagannath Temple is not just a monument — it’s the heart of Odisha and a symbol of eternal faith. If you truly want to experience peace, devotion, and divine love, this is the place to be.

Puri Jagannath Dham is one of the most divine and sacred temples in India 🙏✨. The spiritual atmosphere here is truly beyond words — you can feel peace and devotion in every corner. The architecture of the temple is magnificent, reflecting ancient Odia art and culture 🏰🌸. Darshan of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra gives a deep sense of blessing and positivity ❤️. The surrounding area is clean, and the crowd is well-managed by the temple authorities.

One of the most sacred and beautiful temples in India! The Jagannath Temple in Puri is truly a holy place that radiates peace and devotion. The temple complex is huge, with stunning ancient architecture and an atmosphere filled with chants of “Jai Jagannath!” that give you goosebumps. The area is very well maintained, and despite the large number of visitors, everything is quite organized. The spiritual energy here is unmatched — you can really feel a deep sense of calm and connection. The surroundings are clean, and the temple staff are generally helpful in guiding devotees. It’s best to visit early in the morning or during evening aarti to experience the temple’s divine ambience at its peak. There’s also plenty of space around the temple for walking and sitting quietly. Tips: Follow temple dress and mobile restrictions. Keep your belongings safe as it can get crowded. Don’t miss the Mahaprasad — it’s divine! Overall: A must-visit holy destination for anyone seeking peace, devotion, and spiritual energy. Jai Jagannath! 🙏

A Divine Experience at Jagannath Puri Temple! 🙏✨ I recently visited the Jagannath Puri Temple, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! The temple's vibrant atmosphere and stunning Kalinga-style architecture left me spellbound. I enjoyed the daily rituals and the rich cultural heritage of Hinduism that permeates the temple. What I loved: - Spiritual Ambiance: The temple's energy is palpable, with devotees chanting and praying throughout the day. - Architecture: The temple's intricate carvings, sculptures, and paintings are breathtaking. - Rituals: Witnessing the daily rituals, like the offering of Mahaprasad, was a highlight. - History: The temple's 12th-century history and significance as one of Char Dham pilgrimage sites fascinated me. Tips for Visitors: - Dress modestly and respect local customs. - Be prepared for crowds, especially during festivals. - Don't miss the stunning views of the temple's architecture and the vibrant market surrounding it. Recommended for: Spiritual seekers, history buffs, and architecture enthusiasts. Overall, my visit to Jagannath Puri Temple was a deeply enriching experience that I would highly recommend to anyone interested in spirituality, history, or architecture.

A truly divine and spiritually uplifting experience! The Shree Jagannatha Temple in Puri is one of India’s most sacred and ancient temples, filled with powerful energy and timeless devotion. The architecture is magnificent, showcasing intricate carvings and a majestic aura that instantly fills the heart with peace. The atmosphere around the temple is vibrant — chants of “Jai Jagannath” echo through the air, and the aroma of holy offerings creates a deeply spiritual environment. The Mahaprasad served here is pure, sacred, and delicious, prepared in traditional clay pots with devotion. Visitors should note that only Hindus are allowed inside the main temple, but the view from nearby points like the Raghunandan Library rooftop or Lion’s Gate (Singhadwara) still gives a breathtaking glimpse of its grandeur. A must-visit for anyone seeking divine blessings, cultural heritage, and an unforgettable spiritual connection. ✨ Jai Jagannath! 🙏

A Soulful Journey to Sri Jagannath Temple, Puri 🕉️✨ There are some places that don’t just exist — they breathe divinity. My visit to the sacred Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri was one such experience where faith met science, and devotion felt alive in the air itself. The very first sight of the towering temple stirred something deep within me. The chants of “Jai Jagannath” echoed through my heart, and for a moment, the world around me stood still. The energy of that ancient land is unlike any other — vibrant, magnetic, and peaceful all at once. As I walked through the temple gates, I couldn’t help but marvel at its mysterious perfection. The flag atop the temple always flutters against the wind — as if even nature bows differently before the Lord. The main dome casts no shadow, and the sea’s roaring sound fades into silence as soon as you step inside the complex. It’s as if the divine wishes you to listen only to the quiet conversation between your soul and the Almighty. The temple’s construction is more than architecture; it’s sacred science — a blend of devotion, design, and cosmic alignment. Even the kitchen, where thousands of devotees are fed daily, works like a miracle — the topmost pot cooks first! Standing before Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra, I felt time dissolve. My thoughts quieted, my heart bowed, and an invisible warmth filled me — a reminder that faith isn’t seen, it’s felt. Leaving the temple, I carried with me not just blessings, but a deeper calm — the kind that stays long after the journey ends. 🌿💫

The Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, is one of India’s most sacred and magnificent temples, dedicated to Lord Jagannath — an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Built in the 12th century by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, the temple stands as a masterpiece of Kalinga architecture, with its towering spire visible from miles away. The complex houses the holy trinity — Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra — symbolizing universal harmony and divine unity. The temple is not just a religious site but also a cultural heartbeat of Odisha. Its daily rituals, traditional music, and the famous Mahaprasad served from the world’s largest kitchen reflect centuries of devotion and community spirit. The annual Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) draws millions of devotees from across the globe, offering a spectacular view of faith and tradition in motion. What makes the Jagannath Temple truly unique is its spiritual inclusiveness — a place where divinity transcends caste, creed, and boundaries. The temple’s mysteries, such as the flag always flying against the wind and the absence of bird shadows above its dome, add to its divine aura. Visiting Jagannath Temple is not merely a pilgrimage but a profound spiritual experience. The chants of “Jai Jagannath,” the sight of the majestic idols, and the sacred atmosphere leave every devotee with deep peace and devotion. It stands as an eternal symbol of faith, love, and unity — the soul of Odisha and the pride of India.

Puri Beach Market, also known as Bada Danda Market, is a lively and essential stop for anyone visiting Puri, Odisha. The market stretches from Swargadwar Road to Gundicha Temple and offers a bustling local bazaar atmosphere.
A lively market near the beach with many small shops and stalls. You’ll find sea shells, souvenirs, clothes, and local art. Street food and seafood are tasty. Gets crowded in the evening but feels fun with the sea breeze and lights. Good for a walk and quick shopping.
Sayan C — Google review
A vibrant, colourful and amazing chaos is how I would describe the beach market on the warm and sultry Saturday evening at sunset. Really enjoyed walking along the beach, looking at the brightly lit stalls selling colourful knick knacks and toys, jewellery and accessories, clothes, fabric and kitchenware, idols of the many gods and goddesses and of course the popular snacks and beverages stalls and the Icecream carts. There was something for everyone, young and old, boys and girls. The noise, the dust, the smoke ..... well nothing mattered to the crowds who were all having a wonderful time.

This is an evening beach market, on the golden puri beach, spreading nearly over one kilometer available for attracting tourists and some locals for the purchasing household, novelty, gift and decorated items other than sea-pearls, different types of conches and similar attractive varieties for their own or for gift to the benevolent. Besides all these, there are food stalls for veg and non-veg items. Sea fish varieties are also an added advantage for food loving people. Sea beaches are always awesome either at dawn or in the afternoon hours for fresh air and other enjoyment for the kids. Horse/Pony and Camel ride are must for the childrens and their parents as well. Gentle breezes along with favourite white sea multiple waves are always awesome and remarkable too for the vacation they look for.

Swargadwar Sea Beach

4.5
(3170)
Beach
Swargadwar Sea Beach, also known as the "door to Heaven," is a sacred and peaceful beach in Puri. It holds significance for Hindu pilgrims who consider it holy and come here to take a dip in the water. The beach features a buzzing night market with stalls selling seafood, clothing, and jewelry. Visitors can relax on chairs available for rent while enjoying the cool sea breeze. Although water sports are not available, camel and horse riding can be enjoyed.
Frankly one of the best beaches in the world. Even without the planned infrastructure or civic-policies, the raw beauty of nature stands out amidst the crowd and clutter. Dusk is fine but dawn is best as there are less beach-goers and the some volunteers would have attempted to clean up the sand during the night... If you time it right at the right spot you may catch the spectacle of the fishing-dinghies battling the waves while heading out to sea.. Be advised: this is not a surfer's beach, the waves are medium-crested but short and very strong. Expert swimmers are also warned against trying to tackle the underlying currents... Helpful note: like most Indian tourist spots, this beach is extremely commercialized and there's no dearth of snack-stalls, trinket-shops and even water-sports activities nowadays.
Sourav B — Google review
Busy beach next to the Swargadwara crematorium. It is a unique experience walking along the beach. While the experience is unique, it might not be pleasant. The crowd and noise may be unsettling. The camels and horses are visibly being mistreated. There are a lot of shops but barely anything worth buying. There's fresh sea catch being fried and sold but the hygiene involved in such preparations is anyone's guess. There's hotels and hotels on the other side of the road. The sea beach is more or less clean although it can be beautified a lot more to make it more attractive. The waves are also strong. Overall it's just okay. The humidity makes it worse.

Main hub of Puri with loads of tourist and eateries. Local tea stalls , places to sit and enjoy the view or just dip yourself in. Place to have fun and enjoy your time with people around. Don't forget to have crabs and fishes at the local stalls in evening.

It is the main place in puri for tourists purpose. Different types of fish fry and chilli fry and many things you find hare .. One important points is when you buy fish fry you must concious other wise you eat bad fish 🐟 fry ( my opinion 1st touch the fish ) then told fry it . It good place for utilisation time in better way .
Subhajit K — Google review
Swargadwar Beach in Puri is one of the most famous and culturally significant beaches in Odisha. The name “Swargadwar” means “Gateway to Heaven,” and the area holds deep spiritual importance, as it is believed that Lord Jagannath himself blesses this sacred spot. The beach is located close to the main town and Jagannath Temple, making it easily accessible. In the mornings, you can see devotees taking holy dips in the sea, believing it to be a purifier of sins. The evenings are lively, with a mix of tourists and locals enjoying the sea breeze, street food, and small souvenir shops. The waves are strong here, so while it’s a great spot for walking along the shore and enjoying the sunset, swimming should be done with caution. What makes Swargadwar Beach special is the blend of spirituality and leisure. You can offer prayers at the nearby cremation ghat, which holds religious significance, and then stroll along the sandy shore. The street food here — especially fried fish and Odisha-style snacks — is delicious and worth trying. Though it can get crowded, the beach’s charm lies in its vibrant atmosphere and cultural connection to Puri’s heritage. A must-visit spot for anyone coming to Puri.

Golden Beach in Puri is a bustling Hindu sacred place and the venue for the annual Puri Beach Festival and sand displays. It's one of the best beaches in Puri, connected to other nearby beaches like Niladri Beach and Swargadwar Beach. The beach spans about 870 meters and has received Blue Flag certification for its cleanliness and environmental safety.
Puri Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches, perfect for sunrise and especially sunset. The evening breeze and night view are magical. Sit by the shore after sunset and enjoy the waves. It’s cleaner and more peaceful than Chennai’s Marina Beach, making it truly relaxing.

Golden Beach is a very beautiful beach and a very clean beach. You need an entry ticket to enter it.Earlier its tickets used to be a little cheaper. Now its tickets have become expensive. But after going inside you will feel completely forbidden because it has been maintained very well. You will find a lot of peace here because very few people come here. In the meantime, you will get a lot of peace by going here.

A Serene Escape at Puri Golden Beach Our visit to Puri Golden Beach was nothing short of magical. The beach was clean, well-maintained, and beautifully golden—true to its name. The gentle waves and soft sand made it perfect for a peaceful walk or just sitting back and soaking in the view. We arrived early in the morning and were greeted by a stunning sunrise that painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. The beach had lifeguards on duty and clear signage, which made us feel safe and comfortable. There were plenty of food stalls nearby offering fresh coconut water, seafood, and local snacks. The vibe was relaxed, with families, couples, and solo travelers all enjoying the calm atmosphere. If you're looking for a scenic, clean, and tranquil beach experience in Odisha, Puri Golden Beach is a must-visit. We left with beautiful memories and a promise to return soon!

A bit overcrowded, I suggest visiting the BLUE FLAG BEACH , which is a paid beach with minimal entry fees bit wayy better than the golden beach….but the overall experience is good beautiful views and amazing people

A beautiful spot with stunning sea views and clean waves, perfect for enjoying the scenery and taking a relaxing bath in the water. However, the place is usually very crowded, especially during peak hours, so it’s not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet or peaceful beach experience. Overall, great for views and fun, but be prepared for the crowd.
Shubham V — Google review
The beach is a nice place to relax for a few hours, especially if you love the sound of waves and a calm environment. The natural view is quite good, and you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the shore. During sunrise or sunset, the scenery becomes really beautiful and worth watching. However, the cleanliness could be improved — sometimes you’ll find plastic bottles or wrappers around, which takes away from the natural charm. The facilities like restrooms or seating areas are also limited, so it’s better to come prepared. Food stalls are available nearby, but the prices can be a bit high for the quality. Overall, it’s an average beach — good for a short visit, clicking some photos, or spending quiet time with friends and family, but not something very special or well-maintained

Neeladri Beach is one of the best places to relax in Puri. It’s much cleaner and calmer than the main Golden Beach — perfect for peaceful walks, photography, or enjoying the sunset. After the lord Jagannath temple,it's the most serene place in Puri in accordance to me though there are many other places where you can enjoy your vacation in Puri. I like this place due it's freshness with no foul smell around. It is a very quiet place to chase the sunset. The ticket price is just 20/- rupees only which is very low amount after enjoying the beach. You can get there free drinking water and also wholesome lavatory 🚻. Facilities: The beach offers world-class, eco-friendly amenities, including trained lifeguards, a safe swimming zone (marked by buoys), solar lighting, clean washrooms and changing facilities, wheelchair accessibility, a dedicated jogging track, and seating arrangements. Cleanliness: It is a no-plastic zone and is kept clean by the local authorities, providing a much more serene and litter-free experience compared to the main, crowded Swargadwar area of Puri Beach. Entry: There is a nominal entry fee (e.g., ₹20 for a 3-hour pass or ₹100 for a day pass) to maintain the facilities and limit crowding, which helps preserve its "Blue Flag" status. The Golden Beach is a model for eco-sustainable tourism and is one of the cleanest and safest beaches in India.

This beach can easily qualify as one of the best beaches in India — that’s what I truly felt. It’s clean, beautiful, and very well-maintained. There are shower rooms right on the beach, comfortable sitting areas, and food available at very reasonable prices. They charge ₹40 per person for entry, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Seagull Thali Restaurant is a must-visit spot in Puri, especially for food enthusiasts. This culinary gem offers an impressive array of dishes, ranging from delectable Indian and Mughal cuisine to flavorful Chinese options, making it a true all-rounder. Nestled conveniently near the beach, the restaurant boasts a pleasant ambiance that enhances your dining experience. Guests rave about the delightful taste of the food and commend the friendly staff who contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
Good food. Ambience is reasonable. Taste wise really impressive.

Good food in the attached restaurant. We had noodles and rice and dal and paneer sabji. Took some time to bring the food.
Vivek G — Google review
The restaurant at Hotel Seagull is a great place to experience authentic Chinese cuisine. From the moment you enter, the atmosphere is pure Chinese with a stunning dragon sculpture that wraps around a pillar in the entrance. The menu at the restaurant offers a range of dishes, including Singapore Fried Rice, Hakka Noodles, and Hot Garlic Prawn, which are all tasty and satisfying. The dishes are prepared with care and are true to the traditional flavors of Chinese cuisine. However, one major drawback of the restaurant is the sizzlers on the menu. While sizzlers can be a great addition to any meal, in this case, they emit smoke that spreads throughout the entire restaurant. The lack of proper ventilation can make the dining experience uncomfortable, especially for those who are sensitive to smoke. Overall, the restaurant at Hotel Seagull is a great place to experience authentic Chinese cuisine. The atmosphere is charming, and the food is tasty and satisfying. However, the issue with the sizzlers emitting smoke can detract from the overall dining experience. If you're planning to dine at this restaurant, it may be worth considering your seating options and discussing your concerns with the staff. Next morning I had aloo paratha as breakfast as well

Ordered Hot and Sour chicken soup instead we got Sweet and Sour CORN Soup. Service is late. Quality not up to the mark. Expected better service at this price point.

The restaurant made us wait 40+ mins and didn't serve anything, I went there with my parents, we were dressed like tourists only!! My dad kept on enquiring 4-5times but they took our order and never came back to serve... They discriminated with us by happily serving people around us ... Don't visit this pathetic place. Horrific experience ruined my appetite better eat outside in local places. Disgusting service and discrimination.. never going back to puri!!

Bangalir Swade Ahlade Restaurant is a fantastic spot to savor authentic regional cuisine at an affordable price. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with ample space for gatherings and comfortable seating. The menu features delicious thalis, seafood specialties like Kochu pata chingri and crab masala, as well as other flavorful dishes such as BASANTI POLAO, DAL, ALU POSTO, and MUTTON. The portions are generous and perfect for sharing with family or friends.
It is the perfect place if you are searching for authentic bengali cuisine. Most recommended items would be sukto, begun bhaja, chanar dalna, bhetkir paturi, daab chingri and masala pomfret. Must visit place for atleast 1 lunch or dinner in Puri.
SREYA D — Google review
We tried the prawn malai curry, fish cutlet, chicken kosha and the Kochu pata chingri. The quantities for these dishes were quite small and taste wise they were decent. The cutlet was a little burnt however and the taste was disappointing. I would recommend trying the prawn malai curry. The service was quick and the restaurant was clean as well. They have only thumbs up available as the soft drink, atleast when we went. Not a bad place to try Bengali food in puri.

Bangalir Swade Ahlade is a wonderful spot for anyone craving authentic Bengali cuisine. The moment you step inside, the cozy, Kolkata-like atmosphere makes you feel right at home. We had lunch and were completely blown away by the food. The Shorshe Ilish Bhapa ( steamed hilsa fish ) was incredibly tender, and the Prawn Malaikari ( prawns in a creamy coconut curry ) was a true delight. The flavors are genuine and rich, with generous portion sizes. The staff was polite and attentive, making the entire experience even better. It's a fantastic place for a delicious and memorable meal.

*****Genuine Review ***** Recently on 23.08.2025 I visited this resturent. Ambience & Staff behaviour is really good. But the main thing people went for the Food is very disappointing. The price of the food is totally dissatisfying with the taste of the food. I have attched the bill for refernece but one thing is not mentioned in bill the fish item - Pabda fish was smelling & rubbery. One other item Dab Chingri was not. Cooked well. Totally disappointed with the quality of the food. Strictly will not recomen this resturent to any one at this proce range.
Rohit M — Google review
Food was not good as per the price and they will ask you to take fish item separately, instead of including it in thali for profit, we had to take veg thali and fish separately, we had order prawn malai curry, it was horrible, they used stale prawn, the prawns were hard and it’s head turned black look at the attached picture, my mother ate two of them without complaining, when I complained, they started arguing that prawn should be hard only and why my mother had two of them when I told them that see the colour they started saying why are you saying multiple statements, when complained to the owner, she put phone on her ear and was showing a false gesture without even talking to any one, please don’t waste your money going to this restaurant where the staff doesn’t know on how to behave, it is better to visit a restaurant which has high amount of footfalls every day as they will prepare fresh food, these restaurants attracts very limited customers with nice ambience so prepare the basic few items, while they use old items for rest of the items specifically non veg

Bhojohori Manna is a casual cafe-style restaurant that offers classic Bengali dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Located in Puri, it has received mixed reviews regarding portion sizes and prices. Some visitors found the prices to be high compared to other restaurants in the area, with smaller portions for certain dishes. However, others had an exceptional experience, praising the warm ambiance and delicious home-cooked meals bursting with authentic flavors.
Tried fish fry proper calcutta bhetki, dab chingri was really tasty though size was little small and mutton duck bunglow was awesome

Extremely unhygienic and a complete waste of money. The place was poorly maintained, with visible cleanliness issues throughout. The plates and cutlery were unclean, which was completely unacceptable and raised serious concerns about overall hygiene. The prices are outrageously high for what’s being offered—absolutely unjustified. The staff lacked professionalism, showing no basic courtesy or sense of proper service. There was no point in even discussing the food—both the quality and taste were extremely disappointing. The dishes seemed stale, lacked flavor, and were carelessly prepared and presented. Overall, this place needs a complete overhaul in terms of hygiene, food quality, pricing, and customer service. Definitely not recommended.

This branch of Bhojohori Manna , in Gopiballav road near the Puri sea beach is in the Basement of Benfish hotel. I am very happy and highly recommend this hotel for Bengali food. The price /tariff is similar to the other authentic Bengali restaurants in the vicinity. Each veg items were approx Rs.140 per dish. On two days I have tasted the following items- Posto Bawra, jhinge posto, panchmeshali torkari, lau ghonto, mochar ghonto, dhokar dalna, chanar dalna, sukto and moong er dal. We tried the famous mishti doi in a claypot and even the now popular Nolen gurer ice cream. I liked almost everyone of them. Only the mochar ghonto could have been a bit better. Service is decent and helpful. They have 2 halls- and one part is reserved for the hotel guests from upstairs. They accept all kinds of payments.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service we received at your restaurant during our visit in Durga Puja at Bhojohori Manna, Puri. We were attended by Mr. Maity, who very firmly informed us that à la carte menus were not available during Puja and that we had no option but to order the Thali (Veg ₹800 + GST / Non-Veg ₹1175 + GST). Trusting his words, we ordered both Veg and Non-Veg Thalis. However, to our utter surprise, while leaving we noticed that other customers were being served individual à la carte dishes. This clearly shows we were misled. When I later questioned Mr. Maity (name as informed) about this, his response was that he had “saved us money” since à la carte would have cost more. Such a justification is unprofessional and unacceptable.

Jagannath Dham – Puri Railway Station - Gateway to Jagannath's Grace Stepping into Puri Railway Station feels like entering the threshold of devotion. As the primary arrival point for thousands of pilgrims visiting Jagannath Dham, this station carries not just passengers—but prayers, hopes, and spiritual anticipation. What stands out: - Recently upgraded under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the station now blends heritage aesthetics with modern amenities. - Clean platforms, digital boards, and improved waiting areas make the experience smooth and welcoming. - Located just a short distance from the Jagannath Temple, it's ideal for first-time visitors and seasoned devotees alike. Reflection: This isn't just a railway station—it's a spiritual runway. From the moment you arrive, the air feels different. The chants, the temple bells in the distance, the sea breeze—it all prepares you for the divine darshan ahead. A must-visit for anyone seeking not just a destination, but a transformation.

The platforms are kept exceptionally clean, with proper waste bins placed at regular intervals, and the staff ensures hygiene is maintained throughout the day. The waiting halls and washrooms are also well looked after, making travel comfortable for passengers. Another remarkable feature of this station is its punctuality—trains here are rarely delayed, and announcements are made on time, which helps passengers plan their journey smoothly. Shree Gundicha Temple, located just 3 kilometers away from the main Jagannath temple complex in Puri, is a Kalinga-style sandstone Hindu temple surrounded by gardens. It serves as the summer retreat for Lord Jagannath and his siblings and marks the end of the Ratha Yatra festival, during which the deities rest there for seven days before returning home. The temple is usually empty except during this festival.
The locals here say that this temple opens only when the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath takes place. But unfortunately we did not go to the Rath Yatra. We went on a random day. We really wanted to have darshan. But unfortunately we could not have darshan. I am sad about this.

it's a significant, yet quieter, religious site in Puri, known as the "Garden House" of Lord Jagannath and the destination for the annual Rath Yatra. Visitors note it's less crowded on regular days compared to the main Jagannath Temple, offering a more peaceful experience, but can get very busy during the festival. It's also important to be aware of greedy pandas (priests) and follow the rules, which include strict entry restrictions for non-Hindus and prohibitions on cameras, leather items, and food inside.

Gundicha Temple, also affectionately called Jagannath’s "aunt’s house" or Garden House, is a fascinating stop in Puri—both spiritually significant and architecturally charming 🌿. The temple stands at the end of the 3 km-long Bada‑Danda and is the resting place for Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra during the annual nine-day Rath Yatra, known locally as Gundicha Yatra . Visited temple during Ratha Yatra,it was crowded.Place is well maintained and crowd management is excellent. We took a special entry pass for 50₹ Completed the darshan within 30mins Had a closer darshan of Jagannathji,Balabhadra, and Subhadra.Free darshan is also available but it's a little far from the idols but darshan is quick.. Purchased prasadam outside the scantum. Beware of people offering special darshan apart from the temple counter.Need to remove leather items, phone and sandals outside the temple in a designated area with charges of 50₹ per person. Parking is a bit havoc during this time.. parked the car outside the city and took a rikshaw which costs around 150-200₹ one way. Most places during Rathyatra are cash only. Please carry water, cash with lower denomination.

Mausi Maa Temple

Hindu temple
Located in the heart of Puri, the Mausi Maa Temple is a small shrine dedicated to Goddess Ardhashini. According to Jagannath folklore, this temple holds great significance as it is believed that when Goddess Lakshmi Devi left Shri Mandira, Lord Jagannath and Balabhadra became impoverished and had to go out for alms.
It is a temple dedicated to Goddess Ardhashini and is situated at the mid-way of the grand road of Puri. During the return journey of Ratha Yatra festival, the chariot of Lord Jagannath stops at Mausi Maa temple and the deity is offered with their favourite poda pitha, a kind of baked cake made in lentils and rice. It is a very important destination during Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra.

The Temple is heavily linked with world famous Car Festival of Lord Jagannath. As per rituals in Car Festival the chariot of Lord Jagannath stops a while infront of Mausi Maa Temple. Here Lord Jagannath is being offered with his favourite Podo Pithaa from his lovable aunt. Mausi Maa Temple is also knows as Ardhasini cause according to some belief she drank half of the ocean water in order to save Puri Town from massive floods. Hence it is also beleived she is guardian of Puri Town.

Sanjukta was very helpful and understood our preferences. She was very patient in showing us all the saree collections. I would recommend to ask for her to show the sarees. Suresh was rude at the entrance !

We went to this shop after seeing a lot of advertisements on large bill boards across Bhubaneswar and Puri, and on the internet. Highly disappointing experience. The shop looks good and posh, but the staff behaviour is absolutely horrible and cold. The products are overpriced due to the high maintenance costs of a fancy showroom. The staff is not at all courteous and not at all interested in showing the products. They pose as if they are doing you a favour by selling you their products. If the owner of the showroom is reading this, my sincere request to you sir, kindly check on your staff behaviour with the customers.

One of the good stores in bhubaneswar. They have multiple floors - ground floor is mainly sarees. There are dress materials on the second floor and handicrafts on the top floor. Good option to shop for everything touristy in one place, though I found the range of sarees to be limited both design and pricing wise. I liked the range of dress materials and handicrafts.
Pooja G — Google review
I highly dissuade everyone from buying products because all their dress materials are over priced with such poor quality dyeing that even a single penny spent is a waste. The shop owners are very non cooperative and on being informed about the poor quality product received, they are unapologetic and harsh to not even exchange the item/s or give a full refund.

Excellent collection and totally satisfied. Special mention about Sanjukta Dash, she was extremely polite, nice & showed us all the sarees with utmost care. Thank You so much.. 😊

Sudarshan Crafts Museum is a must-visit spot in Puri, offering a wide array of stone statues, wood carvings, and other exquisite art pieces. Located near attractions like Jagannath Temple and Raghurajpur Artist Village, this museum showcases Japanese-style Buddhist temple architecture. It's an ideal place to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the region. Additionally, visitors are advised to check the museum's timings and entry fees before planning their visit.
Located close to the Puri Railway Station, the Sudarshan Crafts Museum is very easy to find for someone visiting the holy land of Jagannath. Although it's primarily a Buddha Temple, here you will also find talented craftsmen manufacturing beautiful idols on the ground floor. Crowded but peaceful.🤍
Samrat C — Google review
Situated near Puri Rail Station. It looks like a Buddha Temple but the board outside this is saying this is a craft museum and you will be sure after watching all their work in progress their.
Subhankar D — Google review
We visited the museum on 8am Sunday morning. They didn't charge a ticket it was free and open for all. It's a very small cosy museum rather a Buddhist temple. The museum half different stone carved marble carved wood carved items to see. You can park your car nearby.

This is a beautiful place to visit! It's not just a museum but a lively marketplace where craftsmen create their art right before your eyes. You'll find a Japanese Pagoda, Buddha Statue, and various artisan shops here. A leisurely 30-minute stroll is all it takes to explore. The ambiance is serene, surrounded by sculptures and flowering trees, making it a sacred and picturesque spot. The cleanliness is impeccable, adding to its charm. Don't miss out on the local side tour, easily arranged by booking an auto. Normally auto charge 1000 rupees for side seen. Undoubtedly, this place is underrated. It's a haven for art and craft enthusiasts, offering remarkable craftsmanship that everyone should experience. Just remember, they close for lunch from 12 to 3 pm, so plan accordingly. The Buddhist temple within provides a peaceful sanctuary, elevated for a broader view of the surroundings, imparting a sense of tranquility and zen. Visiting during the golden hour adds to the enchantment. Whether you're an art lover or seeking serenity, this place has something for everyone.

Beautifully decorated sacred place. It is surrounded by many sculptures and flowering trees. Very neat and clean. You can book an auto and enjoy the local side tour, this is also included in their package.

Quite a tranquil place to walk into and watch the craftsman craft his art live. As the name suggests, this place isn’t a museum but more like a marketplace where you can buy your favourite piece of craft. It has a Japanese Pagoda, Buddha Statue and the usual craftsman‘s shop. A 30 minute walk around is enough to cover this place.
Saswati R — Google review
Amazing, underrated place. Must visit especially for all art/craft lovers, which should typically be EVERYONE! The craft is remarkable. Here, along with the craftsmen, we met witj Mr Sarat Chandra, a disciple of Shri Sahoo ji, very eloquently explained to us about the art and the craft of this place. He was very warm towards us and respectful about the craft and discussed with us about the craft of Puri and of Sahoo ji. We enjoyed being here for about 45 mins, it was the golden hour, and felt like the perfect time to visit. Please note that they close during lunch timings, I think 12-3 pm they stay closed. Be sure to keep that in mind when you visit! The Buddhist temple here also offers you a peaceful place to adore the beauty around you, especially since it's at a raised platform, you get to see the areas around from a higher position and perspective. Felt very zen here, as it should feel at a temple, I think.

Bedi Hanuman Temple

Hindu temple
Bedi Hanuman Temple, also known as Daria Mahavir Temple, is a small seaside temple located near the Jagannath Temple in Puri. It is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is believed to protect the city from the nearby sea. The temple houses a chained idol of Hanuman and has an interesting and devotional story behind it.
There is an entry fee of INR 5/- at this Temple. The priests will persistenly persuade you for special puja , donation , buying idols, etc, so please be careful. There is no wait time for darshan, and one can have darshan and get going without falling into the trap of the priests, in 10 minutes. Apart from hanuman ji idol , there are several other deities. Temple is easy to locate as local auto, rickshaws know the temple area well. Parking is difficult to find as entry of the Temple is on a busy street.

Small and beautiful temple, !!disclaimer the Poojaris in this temple will try to scam you to do Pooja and ask for hefty money, so be aware just go and have darshan of Prabhu Hanuman and come off. Bedi is chained, and there us a story that Hanuman was chained to prevent sea from entering to Puri. Beautiful idol and very blissful. There is an entry ticket of Rs 5 which is very strange that we have to pay to visit a temple. The temple is also known as Daria Mahavir Temple. The temple has normal architecture and ambience. The temple has an interesting story behind the name 'Bedi Hanuman'. It is believed that Daria Mahavir protects Puri against the fury of the sea.

Bedi Hanuman Temple in Puri is a peaceful and spiritually uplifting place with deep-rooted history and significance. The atmosphere inside the temple is calm, and you can truly feel a sense of devotion here. However, be prepared for multiple priests (around 5–8) approaching you to offer various religious items such as yantras, flags, bangles, raksha sutras, etc., each asking for their own donations. The experience can feel a bit overwhelming, and you may end up spending more than expected. It’s advisable to carry plenty of smaller denomination notes (₹50 and ₹100) if you plan to visit. Despite this, the temple’s serene aura and historic importance make it worth a visit.
Barbiee C — Google review
A small yet powerful temple near Puri Beach with deep mythological importance. Lord Hanuman is worshipped here in chains (“Bedi”), as legend says Lord Jagannath bound him to ensure he never left his duty of guarding Puri from the sea. The idol is unique—holding a laddoo and a mace—with beautiful deity carvings on the temple walls. ⏰ Timings: 6 AM – 6 PM 💰 Entry Fee: ₹5 per person Best combined with a visit to Jagannath Temple and Puri Beach. Festivals like Hanuman Jayanti and Rama Navami are celebrated here with devotion. ⚠️ Priests may insist on offerings—if you only want darshan, politely decline. ✅ Overall: A peaceful, spiritual, and must-visit spot for devotees in Puri. 🙏

Place is sacred but the managing Pujaris are so greedy that the that they are forcing you to shell out more money until you are empty handed. They will forcely hand over items at entrance and will demand hefty money. Entrence fee is 5 rupees only. Temple was not having any rush and only few devotees were there.
Vivek G — Google review
Visited the mandir today. The pandits there did not let me or any of my family member pray in peace. All of them had eyed on one of my family member to loot as much as they can by first being polite and inspecting what relation do we have with each other to finally understand who would be there bait for the day. Showing that they are praying on your behalf, and ensuring you have been asking for the most important thing from God, is when they start demanding money. Make sure if you go you do not listen to anyone out there and do not pay anyone. For the sake of donation they will show you an aluminium box which will have no space for putting in the money.
Ankita S — Google review
A visit to this temple is a journey through time, rich in history and spirituality. Entry is affordable, with a nominal ticket price of ₹5 per person.
Chirag J — Google review
We visiting thinking this place is supposed to be very renowned one. But we can literally use the word "extortion". Initially we were asked to buy 5rs ticket for entry. The place is very secluded inside a galli, not close to road. We had 4 senior citizen with us. They looted us in the name of buying flags, keys, coins jabardasti in the name of God. They looted us together then separated males and females and individually asked for money. The pandits are really playing with the sentiments. Extremely disappointed. When they saw that we ladies didn't pay as per their expectations they literally shooed us away. After all this trouble they dnt even give us sit for 1min in their premises as seniors. No mobile phones are allowed. We as tourists couldn't do much as the place is secluded and they outnumbered us, it was not a right decision to argue there with all seniors with us. I really wish someone someday exposes them. Temple's divinity was absolutely ruined by these people. All of us were scared and returned disappointed.

Beach
Puri Beach, located on the east coast of the Bay of Bengal, is a serene haven for nature enthusiasts and travelers seeking a peaceful retreat. Its proximity to the renowned Jagannath Temple and other temples in Puri makes it a popular destination year-round. The beach offers various accommodation options and a wide range of culinary delights, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing vacation with family and friends. Situated just 2 km from the Lord Jagannath temple and approximately 2.
A Breath of Sea Air at Puri Beach Dropped by Puri Beach recently, and I must say, it was just the thing my soul needed. There’s something about the sound of waves and that salty breeze that clears your head right out. I got there early and watched the sun rise over the water - absolutely magic. The whole sky lit up like it had been painted fresh that morning. Walking along the shore barefoot, with the sea gently nudging your feet - it’s peaceful in a way that’s hard to explain. Come evening, the place gets lively in the best way: locals out for a stroll, stalls sizzling up snacks, kids chasing waves, and the odd camel plodding along looking half-interested in it all. I grabbed some coconut water and a few bites of local street food - nothing fancy, but it hit the spot. The only downside is the crowd during holidays - it gets absolutely packed, and you do lose a bit of that calm. Plus, there’s the occasional litter left behind, which takes away from the beauty of the place. Still, it’s a spot that stays with you. Whether you’re after some quiet or a bit of beachside buzz, Puri Beach delivers the goods. Would happily go back, just to hear those waves again.

Puri Beach is a beautiful and lively place, especially during sunrise and sunset. It was quite crowded when I visited, but the view of the sea and waves was amazing. A great spot to relax, walk barefoot on the sand, and enjoy the local vibe.

I recently visited Puri Beach and honestly, the experience was amazing 🌊✨. The vibe, the sea waves, and the overall atmosphere were just perfect. The only thing to keep in mind is that some of the locals near the beach can be a bit pushy, and you really need to take care of your belongings yourself, as there are chances of theft. Overall, if you stay a little alert, Puri Beach is a wonderful and memorable place to visit 🙌🌅.

I recently visited Puri Beach, and it turned out to be one of the most wonderful beaches I’ve experienced so far. The atmosphere was calm and refreshing, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. The beach was clean, well-maintained, and offered a truly peaceful vibe. Visitors around were also respectful and added to the overall pleasant experience. If you’re planning a trip to Odisha, I would definitely recommend adding Puri Beach to your itinerary—it’s a must-visit. 🌊✨

Out of all the beaches in Puri, I found this to be the best beach. I had a lot of fun here. There are many hotels nearby, A lot of people come here in the evening and watch the sea closely, which really looks very lovely, here a moist wind blows along with the sea waves, and in front of it everything is washed away

Puri Sea Beach is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The view of the sunrise and sunset is amazing. The sound of the waves and the cool breeze make it very relaxing. The beach is clean in the morning, and many people come here for a walk or to enjoy the sea. You can also find tasty street food, tea, and souvenirs nearby. Camel and horse rides are also available for fun. It’s a great place for families, friends, and solo travelers.

There don't seem to be too many cafes in Puri. I was looking for a place where I can sit down and finish some work for a few hours near the railway station. This seemed to be the most relevant according to Maps. It was a nice clean Vegetarian restaurant, the AC was a blessing in the heat. I had a veg thali, their paneer butter masala is their specialty. Lassi was good too and all In all it wasn't too expensive.

It is a full vegetarian restaurant in CT Road, Odisha near Sunar Gwarango Mandir. It has an average restaurant with sufficient sitting places and good food. But it does not serve dosa in the evening. The dosa is good here. It not only serves South Indian food but also North Indian food. It is a Marwari Restaurant. It also has a hotel above it for accomodation. The ambience is also good with patachitra paintings hung on every wall. It is a good suggestion to have meals.

Very poor taste. Pure Veg. If you love south Indian Dosa's and North Indian Paratha's. You should not visit here, i ordered both and very poor taste and quality observed. 50 percent of my order I could not eat due to very bad cooking quality and bad taste. I asked the manager to improve the food quality and taste. But all in vain. Better visit some other good pure veg restaurents... BHAVESH T — Google review
I have been a regular customer of Domino’s till today. Last time, I had given a bad review for the Moosapet, Hyderabad outlet. Today’s review is about the Domino’s outlet in Puri, Odisha. I felt really bad today — such a big company like Jubilant, yet I would like to request to there area manager to please train their store managers on how to speak with customers. The attitude was unbelievable. I asked for two extra packets of chili flakes, and the staff said they wouldn’t give them. When I said I would give a 1-star review on Google, he looked at me angrily and said, “Do whatever you want.” The store manager doesn’t even wear a cap inside the kitchen. The staff are working without hand gloves right in front of the manager and are continuously eating pizza inside the kitchen. You can even check the CCTV footage if you think I’m lying. The manager’s lack of experience is clearly visible. If my complaint is not resolved, I’m ready to take this matter up to Jubilant’s headquarters or cunsumer court for insult a customer. . In one visit, they made us wait 30 minutes for two orders. We are paying for the orders — does that mean they can talk to us disrespectfully? Are we eating there for free or what? Sorry, but this was my last visit.

One star for the behaviour of the manager in handling my order.I was given a different food instaed of what I ordered but the manager was behaving as if he was doing a favour on me by providing me with other food whereas I didnt wanted it in the first place and wanted my original order to be delivered.Zero knowledge of staffs of what is happening in the store.......but the best part was the attitude of the manager which looked like he is running a circus and asking to customers to forcefully take whatever they have as they have already paid for the same. One customer said that to give him a credit note instaed of the food which they dont have currently but take a order of.When the manager told that next time he ll give a discount but the customer told that I stay at other place, the manager ridiculed him and sarcastically made fun of him.For the first time I am seeing a dominos outlet staff behaving in such a manner. Now it seems that the instagram was right.Dominos is really hiring goo s as staff now in the store.

Terribly managed Dominos. Delivery staff lingers in the kitchen area with no safely hygiene gear and stare at female customers. My food was ready, kept there for around 10 mins but no one bothered informing me. I had to go myself and remind them. No seasoning, no paper napkins given. Besides, pizza was made terribly. Like someone was forced to rush and just make anything. Tables kept unclean. Unruly staff. Terrible experience.
Virender S — Google review
The good interior looks cute and modern. Service should increase. I had ordered through mobile Domino's app to reduce my waiting time, but they prepared very delay. Staff are not friendly due to work load or what God knows. Rest all is ok. The location is very good. Car parking bike parking is there

Online ordering is better. They refuse multiple things in store but have it for online orders for takeaway. We were refused a Medium farmhouse pizza in store, saying they ran out of mushrooms and dough. We were forced to buy regular size pizza. Then we saw someone take large pizza. We then ordered a medium pizza, and this was delivered by the same store. They are lying to customers in store.

Nestled right next to the stunning Puri Beach, Pink House Hotel & Restaurant is a charming budget-friendly spot that perfectly blends comfort and coastal vibes. This cozy establishment features straightforward rooms, both air-conditioned and non-air conditioned, making it an inviting choice for travelers seeking relaxation. The restaurant boasts an open-air seating area adorned with vibrant decor, creating a delightful atmosphere for guests and locals alike.
I recently stayed at Hotel Pink House and overall had a pleasant experience. The highlight of the property is definitely its location – surrounded by lush greenery, well-maintained garden pathways, and cozy sit-outs that create a calm and refreshing atmosphere. The setting is perfect for anyone looking to relax away from the city. Service was commendable – the staff were courteous and attentive, ensuring needs were met promptly. Small touches like maintaining the garden walkways and providing quick assistance add to the comfort of the stay. The rooms, however, could use some improvement. While functional, they lacked the refinement and finishing expected at this price point. Cleanliness and upkeep were decent but not exceptional, which is why I’d rate the rooms at 3 stars. Overall, Pink House is a great pick if you value serenity, greenery, and location above all. With some upgrades to the rooms, this place could easily become a top-tier destination.

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price We stayed at this hotel during Rathayatra 2025, and it turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. Despite charging ₹3,500 per night for AC rooms, the quality and service were far below expectations. We booked two AC rooms (Room 202 and 203) on the second floor. Both rooms had faulty bathroom doors, and water would leak into the room during bathing. The bathroom lock in Room 202 didn’t function properly. The bedsheets were stained, and many of the pillow covers were torn—reflecting poor cleanliness and maintenance standards. Room 203 was not provided with an AC remote. When we inquired, the staff misleadingly claimed it was an “automatic AC” that couldn’t be controlled with a remote—only turned on or off manually. Adding to the inconvenience, the hotel does not offer any service after 10 PM, even for basic necessities like drinking water. While the hotel is relatively close to the sea, it's located near an off-beat beach. The main sea beach and beach market are approximately 4 km away. Getting to and from the hotel is also a hassle, as autos and totos often refuse to travel that far. The food is overhyped—some of the seafood dishes were decent, but the basic meals were not up to the mark. Overall, the experience was highly disappointing and certainly not worth the rate they charged. I would not recommend staying here.

Odia restaurant
Dalma is a delightful gem for those seeking an affordable yet high-quality dining experience. This restaurant shines with its mouthwatering offerings, particularly its namesake dish, Dalma—a traditional Odia lentil and vegetable curry enriched with mustard and coconut flavors. The menu is a treasure trove of Odisha cuisine, featuring delectable items like chicken kosha, mutton kosha, kankada tarkari, pomfret fry, and the ever-popular veg thali.
Located at VIP Road, this is one of the popular destinations for authentic odia cuisine food. There is no dedicated parking space. You may need to find a spot roadside for parking. The ambience is kind of decent. Staffs are polite, courteous and very helpful. We ordered for veg Pakhala and associated preparations like aloochokha, baatichoora, aloo bhindi curry and mushroom patra. All preparations were too good. I was blown away by the flavours of amazing Odisha cuisine. Usage of mustard oil made the dishes more palatable. As dessert, we took chena jhilli, which was also good. Tariff is absolutely reasonable. Altogether, it was a gastronomic experience for me. Overall verdict - must recommended for anyone going to Puri with a desire to try Odisha cuisine food at an affordable price.

First price, it's on very high side if you are asking for home delivery through Zomato/ Swiggy - so I would suggest to go and pick by self. Especially chicken kassa (with 1 aloo, 3 small to medium size) 250+ is way too high. Paratha good but got hard in few mins. Aloo bharta, aloo gobi were very good and tawa roti was made of atta. Service is very good. staff are cooperative. Well managed during pick hours like lunch time. Food was ठीक-ठाक. As per the pricing there is pretty scope for improvement.

Clean, hygienic, fresh cooked meals. The food is tasty and served hot. Prawn checha is a must try. Having said all this Dalma Bhubaneswar is definitely better. The thali also has just a few items. The array isn’t elaborate. Plus point is the Chenna poda which is very good here.

One star for a stupid overconfident waiter.. who took order.. for us..the dish was unavailable..and just on the next table the same dish was available.. food is nice.. must try mushroom patrapoda.. rice quantity in pakhaala was enough.. ..wuld have been good if they reduced the rice and increased cured portion

Dalma, Puri: Authentic Odia Flavours Let Down by Service When in Puri, indulging in authentic Odia cuisine is a must, and the name that consistently comes up is Dalma. Famed for its dedication to traditional home-style cooking, this restaurant is a beacon for anyone wanting to taste the real flavours of Odisha. My recent visit confirmed its reputation for delicious food, though the overall experience was a mixed bag. The Food: A True Taste of Odisha Let's start with the highlight: the food. Dalma delivers wholeheartedly on its promise of authentic Odia dishes. The taste is genuine, flavourful, and has a comforting, home-cooked quality that is hard to find elsewhere. Their signature "Dalma," a sublime lentil and vegetable stew from which the restaurant takes its name, is a must-try. Other dishes, from the various bhajas (fries) to the classic fish and mutton curries, are prepared with care, showcasing the subtle and unique spice blends of the region. If you are on a quest for the true culinary soul of Odisha, your taste buds will be more than satisfied here. The Price: Good Value for Money In a tourist-heavy location like Puri, dining can often be expensive. Dalma stands out with its decent and reasonable pricing. The cost of the meal felt appropriate for the quality and quantity of the food served, making it an accessible option for families and solo travellers alike. You can enjoy a hearty, traditional meal without feeling like you've overpaid, which is a significant plus. The Service: The Achilles' Heel Unfortunately, the commendable food is let down by service that is not up to the mark. The service was slow, and the staff seemed inattentive and disengaged. Simple requests took a long time to be fulfilled, and there was a general lack of warmth and proactiveness that you would expect from a restaurant of this repute. This gap between the quality of the food and the quality of the service was noticeable and detracted from the overall dining experience. Final Verdict So, should you visit Dalma when in Puri? Yes, absolutely. The restaurant is a must-visit for its culinary authenticity alone. It offers a genuine and delicious dive into Odia cuisine at a fair price. However, go with managed expectations regarding the service. Be prepared for potential delays and a less-than-enthusiastic staff. It’s a place you should certainly go to once for the food. Whether the taste is good enough to make you overlook the service for a repeat visit will be a matter of personal patience.
Bivash M — Google review
Very hygienic outlet, too crowded during lunch time but ample seating space and prompt service. Very beautiful concept of taking forward odisha's own cuisine through such a big outlet. Few delays in service here and there. Variety, quantity and taste are pretty good. Masala dalma is better than plain dalma, liked the mushroom pata pora dish. Overall a nice experience, however little less than hyped.
SHILPI R — Google review
Dalma is one of the most authentic restaurants to experience the true flavors of Odia cuisine. I had a really good experience dining here. The restaurant beautifully reflects the culture of Odisha through its food and simple yet warm ambiance. I tried their Odia thali, which was quite expensive compared to local rates, but the taste and quality of the food were excellent. Every dish had a traditional, homely flavor — especially the Dalma (lentil and vegetable curry), which was perfectly spiced and delicious. The portion size was also satisfying, and the food felt fresh and well-prepared. The ambiance was pleasant, clean, and comfortable, making it a nice place to sit and enjoy your meal peacefully. However, the service was just average — the staff could be a bit more attentive and quicker. The only major drawback is the parking issue. There’s barely any space for parking nearby, which can be quite inconvenient, especially during busy hours. Overall, Dalma is a must-visit restaurant if you want to try authentic Odia food and experience the local taste of Odisha. Despite the parking problem and average service, the food quality and traditional flavors definitely make it worth visiting.

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Balukhand - Konark Wildlife Sanctuary. It's a very beautiful place although it's not much crowded but the view was even get more amezing just because it's not crowded by people. And also the jungle area's are little scary and I suggest don't go alone there. But if you want to experience a mesmerizing sunset view Just go there without any second thought. And also the entey fee was 90 per person.

It was great. We really spotted a lot of things. A spotter deer fawn, 2 huge adult lamgoors and infinity number of crabs in the island. Even heard from the rescuers that Olive Ridley Turtles comes here at night to lay eggs. The beach is very peaceful and less crowded. There is also a newly made watch tower out there. Ticket Price is 30 per person and 50 for car. There is also a beautiful nature camp inside it whose price starts around 5000 per day for 2 person with 4 meals each. Added photos check them out.

The sea beach is good, very neat and clean due to less tourist visit. It's an isolated beach. One can not go to beach directly by own vehicle. You have to park the vehicle in parking, then buy ticket and go with their electric Safari. Waiting time for safari is sometimes less , sometimes high. Depends upon the number of tourists. During return from beach they will keep you waiting for safari till 7-8 people come. They should allow cars/bikes up to 15-20.

Balukhand Wildlife Sanctuary – Best for a Quiet Beach, Not for Wildlife Spotting Balukhand Wildlife Sanctuary is located along the Konark–Puri Marine Drive. I’ve visited this place multiple times, in almost all seasons. Although the information boards mention various animals like hyenas, jackals, deer, and rabbits, in all my visits, I’ve only spotted deer — and just once, a rabbit, during a night stay at Nuanai Nature Camp, which is located within the sanctuary. For me, the main attraction here is the secluded and peaceful beach, which remains relatively unexplored and crowd-free — perfect for a quiet escape. I wouldn’t recommend this place for those who have high expectations of wildlife sightings, as animal visibility is very limited. Entry Fee:- Rs 40 per person.

I visited the beach here. The path to beach goes through a forest. It is a short root of 2.5 km. The drive to the beach is quite beautiful and scenic. The beach is not at all crowded. Waves are not too high. Mostly gues in Toshali Sand resort visit this beach. Infact the resort management tells that its their private beach. They provide a cab to and from the beach. We had really good time here. We visited this place during the 2nd week of March. It was quite sunny and a bit hot but perfect for taking a dip in sea.

Unforgettable experience . The morning sunrise , was most beautiful , and the catching moment over there. We went from bbsr and we reached there at 5 am morning . Reach by 5 , then u can see the beauty of our nature , the colour of the sky , all was unimaginable. Nothing more in the beach. chandrabhaga beach has always the high tide , so I recommend u to be careful while u go inside water and enjoy there . Don't think it is same as Puri . We can't explain u why , but it is . I will like to mention . Do u like crab ? Sand colour crab ... Not that we get in the market . That kind of crab can be seen if u go far ahead from the crowd . Walk along the bank of the sea , and go a distance , then u can see the crab crawling on the sand .

Sonar Gouranga Temple, located in Puri on Chakratirtha road, is a serene and peaceful place of worship. The temple houses idols of Krishna in his young and baby age made of gold, along with other deities like Gouranga and Subhadra. While photography is prohibited inside the main temple, it's allowed in the nearby Subhadra Temple and Nadiyar Gouranga Temple.
This place is antique. It requires maintenance. Yet it has tranquillity and lesser people in it. This place is not yet known by many compared to other sightseeing places. But it's worth visiting.

The Sonar Gouranga Temple in Puri, Odisha, dedicated to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, is appreciated for its serene and tranquil environment, offering a peaceful respite from the bustling atmosphere of the more famous Jagannath Temple. The temple's golden image of Gouranga and its simple yet charming architecture attract devotees and tourists alike, providing an immersive spiritual experience through regular worship and devotional singing. While it may not boast grand architecture, its cultural and devotional significance makes it a worthwhile visit for those interested in the Bhakti movement and the teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Unfortunately, photography is not permitted inside, allowing visitors to fully engage with the temple's spiritual ambiance without distractions.

Narendra Pokhari, also known as Narendra Tank, is a sacred and serene large lake located in Puri, Orissa. Built in the 15th century by Narendra Dev, it is considered one of the largest tanks in the region. Visitors can take boat rides to the central island where a temple stands.
Also known as Narendra Sarovar is a Srikshetra heritage site. Chandan Yatra takes place in this sarovar

This place is considered to be very sacred and must visit in Puri but I am only giving it a 3 star coz of its cleanliness and hygiene issues. The water was not clean and people were washing their clothes in this water which is actually considered as holy water. The government should definitely restrict some activities here to protect its authenticity and purpose!

A beautiful place to sit and relax after the usual crowded temple visit. The natural aquatic ecosystem here is free therapy, providing cool, calm, and peaceful vibes every time I visit. I've attached some videos to capture the serene atmosphere. In the evening, there is a light and sound show that narrates the history of the temple and Puri in general. However, be prepared for mosquitoes during the evening show.
Prajnashu D — Google review
I'm only giving 3 stars to this place bcz of only and only cleanliness and hygiene, very dirty place including sarovar, dustbins are placed over there but no one is using it, neither management staff nor any controller was there to take responsibility. Elsewhere the temple campus built in between tank was very great and design was also fantastic, and it holds very great importance in the history of this city. I truly suggest visiting one time. Many peoples were bathing , cleaning clothes, and using shampoo and soap in the sarovar. Which is realy needed to be stopped. At last Jai Jagannath. 🙏🏼

Its very holy place among devotes. Narendra Sarovara is situated to the north east of Jagannatha temple next to Jagannatha Vallabha Garden. walking along Grand road towards Gundicha Temple, it is on your left side. This pond is also known as Sri Candana Puku, because Candana Yatra of Lord Jagannatha takes place here. You can spend very peaceful time with family and friends. The pond is very neat and clean & well maintained. No proper shoe rack or paid shoe stand.

Narendra Pokhri is one of the revered holy ponds in Puri. It plays a special role during the annual festival of Jagannath Rath Yatra as well as the festival of "Chandan Yatra." People believe that after death, if you perform "Shraddha Karma" here and do bone immersion, then the soul gets peace. Also people called it's 2nd Ganga.

Water park
Pratyush Ocean World is one of the best water parks in India. It has a wide range of slides and a shallow children's pool. The park is located in a calm environment and is great for hanging out with friends and family.
Can one really think of this dump limping back on its feet? Great doubt after cheating so many innocent people who had a genuine interest in investing in the park. If you think it's worth it go and see for yourself and maybe enjoy too without any mishaps but please don't get carried away and invest your hard earned precious money. Full of imposters and frauds

Ticket price is 399/-. But outsider costume is not allowed. So you have to pay extra rupees for costumes. By the way, better not to choose Pratyush Water Park. Because the staff behaviour is worst ever. Food restaurant takes a lot of time to serve. There are only few rides there in which you will feel bored in 30mins. Water is very unhygienic. Dead insects are floating. Overall wastage of money.

Bravery Bar is a compact establishment, literally resembling a small opening in the wall. The beverage selection primarily consists of potent types of beer, which are served chilled. The ambiance is dimly illuminated, creating an atmosphere that may possess some allure or charm.
Me and my wife visited this place in 2000. We remember it had a small lawn at the entrance and a room ahead. The food served was so mouthwatering and Best layout. We stayed in Puri Mayfair, but every evening came to enjoy the fish and snacks here. The owner was too glad to serve us the best we ever had. Being Punjabies, we love non-veg but the affection and taste we got here is unforgotten. We would live to be here again for sure.

Not sure how this place got such good rating. Mostly it's fake for sure. None of the good brands are available though it's listed in the menu. The table attendant's attitude is like PM of India who is doing part time job as a waiter in this shady place. Inspite it was all empty when i visited, he was busy in mobile rather than attending to the customer waiting to give order. This combined with the fact, not anything good was available, i decided its not worth spending time here, and left the place. Advice to the management - Do hire waiters from hospitality background. A customer who is ready to pay premium price, also expects similar service from your staff.

we came from visiting a temple and were tired and so hungry that we could have anything and our driver suggested that we should go in this restaurant (we are from outside of this state) although the food was decent but the service was horrible we didn’t get our food for so long we waited for 45 mins to get our first order which was papad and after 10 mins we got our salad and then food. They weren’t treating us like customers. They were shouting at us because we said to bring it faster . Although the environment and food was good but don’t visit this when you are utterly hungry and want to leave asap.
Kalicharan S — Google review
We visited this restaurant after watching a food vlog but ended up having a very disappointing experience. Although we reached at a reasonable dinner time (7:30 PM), the service was extremely poor. There was already a 30-minute waiting time mentioned on the menu, which we respected without following up. However, even after 50 minutes, we received only the first serving, and that too with burnt and soggy roti. We had initially ordered parathas and wanted to reorder, but the staff said it wouldn’t be possible. When we asked for chole bhature, aloo paratha, and veg biryani, they refused all of them—while strangely, the table next to us, who arrived later, was served chole bhature. This suggested that they either ran out of items quickly or purposely accept full orders at once to retain customers, and then later refuse additional requests by saying only plain roti is available. The primary reason behind this poor experience seemed to be inadequate staffing. There were too few waiters and kitchen staff, which made it hard for them to manage the crowd. As a result, the service was extremely slow, and customers like us were left dissatisfied. Despite high expectations, the visit turned out to be frustrating and poorly managed. Picture attached - I’m attaching the picture where my parents are waiting, hoping the roti arrives on time—but even that is getting delayed. We ended up spending time here till 9 PM, yet the food wasn’t satisfactory.

After hearing the word of mouth from some people I visited this restaurant. It was a horrible experience and I wanted to suggest that don't make a mistake that I made. I had to wait 1 hr for my order. I asked the staff how much time it will take, Firstly he ignored me but after asking multiple times he started shouting at me. Food quality was also not up to the mark. I ordered food which mostly Indian families order dal and paneer. It was full of spices and it didn't taste good as well. At last I wanted to say this restaurant is a complete hype. Don't fall for the trap

For a peaceful detour from Puri’s bustle, Mata Matha offers a charming combination of devotion, art, and nature—ideal for families, spiritual seekers, and culture lovers. 4–6 km from Puri, Mata Matha (also called Gour Vihar Ashram or Gupta Vrindavan) is a serene and spiritually uplifting site. The 150‑year‑old sanctuary features immaculate gardens dotted with life-sized statues of Krishna‑Leela scenes, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Hanuman, Shiva, Buddha, and other deities—creating a “mini‑Brindavan” aura . Its quiet ambience and breezy pathways make it perfect for meditation, photography, or peaceful reflection . Entry is nominal (₹10 per person), with no photo restrictions. The layout includes water features, a temple tank, and an auditorium for spiritual events . However, parking is limited and nearby access roads can be bumpy. cleanliness is good, a bit more upkeep could enhance the experience

Visiting Mata Matha in Puri was a truly moving experience—being just a short walk from the sacred buzz of the Jagannath Temple, the ashram offers a gentle sanctuary of calm where the many statues of Krishna, Chaitanya and the sacred traditions speak to you quietly yet powerfully. A particularly striking sight is the large mūrti of Hanuman standing prominently in front of the shrine of Sri Ram, with a charming mini‑Brindavan setting nearby—it gives the place a wonderful devotional layering. However, as someone who cares for these spiritual spaces, I was also disappointed to see the access road is in rough shape, especially vulnerable on rainy days, and the upkeep of the surrounding compound doesn’t fully reflect the sacredness within. With some attention to cleaning and road‑maintenance, this gem could shine even brighter for both pilgrims and travellers alike. Still, the inner sanctum and its spiritual ambiance remain worth the visit.

It's a really good place for pious and religious people and those who take interest in knowing about Hinduism. Ticket prices are not high at all and this place provides a very calm and serene environment full of an aura of sanctity. The pictures of Lord Krishna , mother Yashoda, etc are very well depicted on the walls and by statue figurines. But, some statues are broken and are not well maintained. Else it's a very good place to visit provided you have knowledge about Hinduism and Lord Krishna.

This is an amazing place full of peace and full of memories of Shri Radha Krishna ji ☺️💖.. you'll have to buy tickets before entering. There are too many alleyways to watch every deity form of Shri Radha Krishna ji. So, very careful of alleyways. Apart from these alleyway thing you're good to go. A must visit place for all. Located in the picturesque town of puri, Mata Math puri is a revered spiritual destination that offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere to devotees and tourists alike. Shows the essence of Sanatan dharma. As I walked through the temple complex, I was struck by the beautiful architecture and the tranquil atmosphere. The temple's design is a stunning example of traditional Indian architecture, with intricate carvings and ornate decorations adorning the walls and ceilings. The temple complex also features a beautiful garden, a museum showcasing the history and significance of the temple, and a stunning view of the surrounding hills. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Mata Math Ouri. It's a must-visit destination for anyone interested in spirituality, culture, and history. _Tips and Recommendations:_ - Best time to visit: Early morning or evening

I visited puri for darshana of maa Bimala as it is one of the four adishakti peethas. Once you are out of jagannath ji temple on right there is Bimala devi. There is not much rush in the morning, just pray from outside looking at devi instead of getting in the rush near devi as the pandits do not allow you to pray peacefully if you do not buy their stuff and get their blessing. The devi decorated nicely by afternoon. She is beautiful. Ask me for any questions.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Sacred Shakti Peetha — The Divine Seat of Maa Vimala in Puri Shri Vimala Shakti Peetha Temple, located inside the Jagannath Temple complex in Puri, is a deeply spiritual and powerful place dedicated to Maa Vimala, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of India. According to legend, this is where the navel of Goddess Sati fell, making it one of the holiest sites for Shakti worshippers. Though smaller in size compared to the main Jagannath shrine, the divine energy here is truly profound. The atmosphere around Maa Vimala’s sanctum is calm, peaceful, and filled with devotion. It’s said that Lord Jagannath’s Mahaprasad becomes sacred only after being offered to Maa Vimala, showing her central role in the temple’s traditions. The temple is beautifully maintained, with intricate carvings and an ancient feel that connects you to centuries of worship and faith. The priests perform the rituals with great devotion, and devotees often experience a strong sense of peace and protection after offering prayers. For anyone visiting Puri or the Jagannath Temple, a visit to Maa Vimala Temple is a must. It completes the spiritual journey — offering blessings of the Divine Mother along with Lord Jagannath’s grace. A truly sacred and soul-touching experience. 🙏

One of the shaktipeeth and it is known for the 'Right thigh' of devi sati had fallen down. Small temple complex and can easily go inside. Behind this temple you can see the beauty of Sea. In evening time you can do boating, have some snacks. One can go for a picnic here too. Some shops are outside the temple for buying things and snacks.

The vimla devi temple is available inside the jagannath temple premises. No entry ticket is required. No need of hiring any pandit as such. The crowd will lead you to vimla devi temple as well as many more temples available inside the premises. Do not forget to tie thread for accomplishing your with after oath to leave some fruit for one year as the initial place of worship of Sri jagannath ji. It is said that after your wish is fulfilled the thread tied before shall be untied.
Sushil K — Google review
Foreingers not allowed. Literally. If you are not an Indian you will not be allowed in. I was with an Indian friend who asked multiple temple police if we heard it right the first time. We did. And it's not a case of following the temple entry rules (no belt, no mobile, no shoes) - it's that you're not wanted. I explained that if we said 'no Indians' in a church in Australia there would be big trouble. We won't be coming to Puri again.
Ash A — Google review
Goddess Vimala (Bimala) is seen as the Tantric consort and guardian of Lord Jagannath’s temple. Worship of Jagannath begins only after offerings have been presented to Vimala—only then is food sanctified into Mahaprasad
Sokal R — Google review
This immensely important shakti peeth is inside the Sri Jagannath temple towards the southwest corner. It is believed that the pada khanda of Maa Sati fell on this spot and one of the four important shakti peeths in India. Maa Vimala is mesmerising with her unmatched beauty. The prasad of the srimandir becomes Mahaprasad only after offering her. Vijaydasammi and durga puja are some of many important festivals celebrated in its premises. A must visit temple if you ever go to Sri Jagannath Puri.

Comparatively a very clean fish market with a huge variety of sea and fresh water fishes sold at a very economical rates when compared to what is available at reputed fish markets of Kolkata and that too much fresher. The crabs, pomfrets and prawns available are quite large in size and are very tasty. You also get quite large sized Sol fishes also. You get vegetables, mutton, chicken and groceries also in the same market

Govardhan Math, also known as Bhogo Vardhan Math, is one of the four cardinal maths established by Adi Shankara in the 8th century. It holds authority over the Rig Veda and is located within walking distance from Swargadwar sea beach in Puri. The math features idols of Jagganath, Subhadra, Balraj, and a Krishna idol made of Shaligram. Visitors can witness the arti ceremony during morning or evening hours.
Govardhan Matha in Puri, Odisha, is one of the four cardinal mathas established by Adi Shankaracharya in 486 BCE to preserve and propagate Advaita Vedanta. Serving as the Eastern Amnaya Pitha, it is historically linked to the Jagannath Temple, highlighting the unity of spiritual and cultural heritage in the region... The primary deity is Govardhananatha Krishna, with the matha’s Vedantic mantra being Prajnanam brahma (“Consciousness is supreme being”)... The matha’s campus houses a murti of Adi Shankaracharya, honoring the great philosopher-saint who established this center. The serene grounds also include a library, charitable hospital, cultural center, cow shed, and a 2,500-year-old well, adding layers of history to the spiritual atmosphere. Visitors can witness daily rituals, including the Samudra Arati at Svargadvara, where disciples offer prayers to the sea... The current Shankaracharya, Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati, continues the 145th generation of this venerable lineage. Open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, entry is free, and visitors are encouraged to dress modestly. With its ancient history, devotional practices, Adi Shankara’s presence, and tranquil surroundings, Govardhan Matha is a must-visit destination for pilgrims, spiritual seekers, and anyone exploring India’s rich religious heritage...

Serene place. It is at a walking distance from the sea beach. But due to multiple steps, it is quite difficult for elderly people with knee or joint problems to enter. Having said that, the place is painted like new, neat and clean. There are multiple temples inside. A spiritual atmosphere to be liked by interested people. Overall, a good place to add to your Puri trip bucket list.

The best math I got to visit while I was in Puri. The temple has high energy vibes and the tour of the math showed how much knowledge there is to be gained which we ignored or not appreciate. There are idols of Jagganath, subhadra adn Balraj in great likeness to the ones in the Jagganath temple. Plus the Krishna idol made of Shaligram was the one I loved the most. We happened to enjoy the arti when we were there. The temple is closed in the afternoon till 4 pm I think. There is good collection of books and literature to read and buy. There are accommodations available for visitors. It also has hostel that boards the students in various fields like mathematics, science etc. Must visit. There is also a gaushala accross the street which has desi gais, taken care by attendants. Take some fruits or veggies for the cows and their calves if you wish.

We have tried their Kharai paneer, Gobi haidrabadi, butter roti & papad. Kharai paneer : Soft paneer dipped in thick creamy low spicey gravy cooked with semi grind spices. Very good in taste. Well initially i didn't plan to visit this place but something happened we had to change the plan and entered this place and i found out it is one of the best restaurant in puri for Bengali foods. The taste is very adequate to the pallets of Bengali as well as the price is affordable. I am attaching the recent menu as well with the foods picture please do check them as well. Food they offer wheather it is fish or chicken was absolutely fresh in my case and i believe they follow this as well, also the cooking process is not rich as well so old people and children can safely eat this as well. I am 100% recommending this place, please visit and share your views as well. Very soon i will post another review of another place as well, till then stay tuned eat healthy and stay safe and do check out my photos. Thank you

Well we stayed in Bidesh Ghar Inn for 4 nights. As New Parijat Restaurant were in the ground floor of this Hotel, so we decided to eat Breakfast to Dinner in this restaurant. The food qty is absolutely good served in banana leaf. Chinese dishes , Indian chicken dishes, South Indian dishes & thali were very good. Once we tried prawn item, the quality was very poor & prawn was not fresh at all it was frozen for several days, later on we didn’t tried other fish dishes.

Idli and sambhar were ok but chutney was horrible. We then ordered garlic sandwich in which they gave loads of raw garlic. Yes garlic was not even tossed in butter and their quantity was 5 times than it should be. These pathetic restaurants should definitely shut down.

The food was a true highlight. The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a wide variety of both regional and North Indian dishes that are rich in flavor and authentically prepared. I highly recommend trying their seafood; the prawn curry was exceptional, perfectly spiced, and fresh. The vegetarian options were equally impressive, with a creamy dal makhani that’s worth every bite. The staff at Parijat were attentive and friendly, always making sure our experience was enjoyable without being intrusive. The service was prompt, and the team’s knowledge of the dishes added an extra layer of appreciation. Overall, new Parijat Restaurant in Puri stands out for its delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and top-notch service. It’s a must-visit for both tourists and locals looking for a memorable meal. Well, this place is right beside fisherman's restaurant. The food quality and quantity is very good. The only issue I faced was the limited menu — they had only about 6–8 items available from the full Menu. I went there around 1 PM for lunch, so that was a bit disappointing.

I would start with a couple of disclaimers, however I would urge to read on until the end: Piggybacking on the other reviews, we thought too the waiters are uninterested and the initial impression portrayed the same, however we could find a bit later that they listened properly and even suggest proper options on what could be best or what could go with what, but yes they don’t talk a lot. Going by the name, one could readily assume that there are a lot of fish options and exotic delicacies based on fish, however this restaurant is not based on fish only, it has a mix of all. Food wise, I would strongly recommend Indian seafood sizzler, the taste was mind blowing. To add to the diversity we later added American Chopsuey and Tandoori chicken and both were pretty delicious. Cost wise it might feel a bit expensive, but not too much and at per with several other restaurants in Puri.

Dined on June 8, 2025. I ordered pamfret tandoori, and it strongly smelled like dried fish. I also ordered chicken curry and steamed rice; the chicken was not fully cooked, and the rice was not properly drained. Not recommended at all.

Cozy atmosphere. The cook is actually cool. Cheers My go-to beachside spot in Puri — and yes, I always order the lobster! This is my third visit 🤭😜to The Fisherman’s Kitchen, and every single time, the experience has been consistent — fresh food, cozy vibe, and that unbeatable lobster. The cook knows exactly how to treat seafood, and it shows in every bite. The place is clean, well-managed, and just a few steps away from the beach — perfect after a long walk on the sand. Service is usually quick and polite. This time again, I went straight for the lobster, and as always, it was juicy, well-cooked, and full of flavor. 📍If you’re in Puri Beach area, this is one of the best places for seafood lovers, hands down. ✅ Recommended: • Lobster (of course!) • Great for seafood dinners • Calm beachside ambiance • Repeat-worthy experience Uploading my lobster plate again — because it deserves a spot! #FishermansKitchenPuri #PuriSeafood #LobsterLover #BestRestaurantsInPuri #BeachsideDining #PuriBeachEats
