I recently visited Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, and it was an incredible experience! Our darshan was smooth and spiritually uplifting, thanks to the VIP passes we booked online, which took us around 30 minutes to complete. However, I was prepared for crowds, given that we visited on 23rd Oct 2025, during Diwali vacation. If you're planning to visit, I recommend booking VIP darshan tickets online to avoid long wait times, but if you're okay with waiting, regular darshan is also available. This was my first time visiting the temple, and I was blown away by the peaceful and divine atmosphere. The temple environment is truly one-of-a-kind. For car parking, there's a designated spot, but considering the crowds, I suggest taking an auto instead, as parking can be a challenge. Overall, it's a must-visit destination at least once in your lifetime. The experience is truly unforgettable!

Well maintained and darshan was done so peaceful. Divine place. Duirng Arti while seeing Mahakal I was very emotional and tears rolled down. It was very crowdy but we don't feel that in that divine place. It took 3 hrs for Darshan

Absolutely stunning and awesome location depicting Hindu culture and it's deities in all their glory. The place is designed and maintained to international standards. It can get quite hot during the day. A little bit more shade can be provided. Unfortunately we missed the evening time which I'm sure would have been even more epic. Totally worth it and must see attraction Note on new development - Backpacks / Big bags are not allowed. We could not enter with it and had to make extra trip to hotel to keep our bags.

I am from Mumbai and came to visit Mahakal Mahalok. A place must visit. There are light and sound show, laser show. There is virtual darshan of mahakal temple and linga that in my childhood we used to see in reality. The only concern I think must be shared too for authority to take action is the gents toilet which was not maintained properly.

It's a beautiful place with huge idols of Lord Shiva. There are stories inscribed on the walls and the place really is breathtakingly beautiful in the evening. There is also a light show in the evening.

The area is neat and clean , looks extremely good at night. Only issue I had was that there are no proper sign boards..so getting out of the place was really difficult. The washroom in the shopping complex were very dirty. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It has enough space to sit around , a good angan and rooms around. It has no waiting area and you can sit as much as you can without anyone bothering you. Must visit once if you visit ujjain.

a must-visit when you're in ujjain. the ghat is spacious and has a calm vibe. we went both in the morning and evening, and surprisingly it was not too crowded even though it was a weekend. if you're planning to take a dip, morning is the best time. it is quiet and relaxing but the water isn’t very clean, so go in with that awareness. we also attended the evening aarti, which was quite immersive. i would definitely recommend just sitting by the river for a while. it is the kind of place where you can slow down and really feel the energy of mahakal.

Witnessed the traditional lighting of oil lamps at Shree Harsiddhi Mata Temple in Ujjain. At the entrance of the temple are two large lamp towers with hundreds of lamps. At around 6:30 pm every evening these lamps are lit by temple staff. They climb up the oily lamp tower and all these lamps are lit within around 3 minutes. Must be some sort of a record. The place is next to Ujjain Mahakaal temple and gets crowded around 30 minutes before the start of the event, as it is very popular among tourist who visit Ujain. Around 1 minute 20 seconds into the video, you will notice how fast the staff is lighting up the oil lamps. Remember the temple itself is many centuries old and its history is linked to Emperor Vikramaditya. The oil tower is itself slippery because of all the oil.

Order details - We had ordered one premium thali, chole bhature, chach, and in breakfast ordered from Swiggy poha, jalebi, idli sambhar. 3. Taste - Premium thali quantity was good received 3 roti and 2 parathe and enough vegetables, taste was good. Chaach tastes good but quantity was less considering price (30rs). Chole bhature was very oily so it was not that good in taste. Poha and jalebi was the best one to order during breakfast it tastes so nice, quantity was also good and these are must try dishes from this restaurant , everyone who is visiting Ujjain should try poha jalebi from apna restaurant. Idli sambhar not recommended at all, idli size was very big and it was very hard and sambhar is also tasteless so avoid this from this restaurant. One issue while ordering from Swiggy I have faced, ordered chach and lassi with poha as well but not received from the delivery partner, faced this issue 3 times while my stay in Ujjain. 4. Ambiance & pricing - It is a crowded restaurant and you need to wait to find a seat here also it is normal restaurant not that great ambiance, food preparation service is slow because of huge orders, and this is self service restaurant. Went to this restaurant 2 years ago as a tourist and couldn't stop thinking about the taste! We were doing 84 Mahadeva and eating one meal a day so for 4 days we came here, ordered the same food everyday. It was paneer butter masala and naan and coke. It was awesome...

Brathari Cave is a nice place to visit if you enjoy history and spirituality. The atmosphere is peaceful, but the cave is not very well maintained and facilities are limited. It’s good for a short visit, but not something that stands out as a must-see.

Caves are ok. They are very small. Do not rush into the caves when lot of people are there. It get a bit suffocating when too many people. Be patient and wait for your turn. The more calm and composed you are the more fun you will have.

Food was amazing.we took 100 rs thali . Including aloo matar , dal , butter roti and two types of chutney , Onion,aachar . everything was amazing and food was unlimited. You can take as much as you can . It's recommended if you are moving for that 6 location to visit then you should try here. The main drawback roti was little hard but thick enough with butter

Bakwas hai Kabhi mat jana Tasteless, very oily, burnt food served here. The attitude of the staff is not at all professional. Schewzan fried rice was rice with ketchup and they told that we served this kind of food. Sprite which was ordered was also expired.

Whole universe offers complimentary onion with Punjabi sabzi roti and dahi with paneer paratha but they are different breed I guess also the staff was inattentive. Food was ok ok.

What a drawback about this restaurant is that they don’t provide free onions as salad, they charge for them, and that’s not accepted though

Worst food i have ever eaten, attitude of managing staff was not good, stocks of certain items are in expiring condition. It would made me think how many more such items are being used in the kitchen, which can’t be able to notice by customers!!

Checked reviews and went to the place. It's a complete value for money. Taste is good. Staff is sufficient. Seating is clean and as I said its value for money, so don't expect high end ambience. Thali is their main attraction. It is unlimited and serves well with the sabzi kadhi and dal.

It's a fix thali. It's perfect like less spicy and full thali. But it's not hygienic. The place is dirty i feel.

One of the finest option to have lunch or dinner. We ordered paneer tikka , phulka , tawa paratha , masala papad , ghamandi lassi. Taste of paneer tikka was nice. Compare to options available in Ujjain u can consider this one with quick service.

I visited the ISKCON Temple in Ujjain and it was truly a beautiful and peaceful experience. During the aarti, all the lights are turned off and the temple glows only with the light of diyas — it feels divine and full of positive energy. It's really a nice & soulful environment at Ujjain Iskcon. Beautiful aarti & decoration of flowers are awesome. Flowers has it's own importance & natural beauty infront it ornaments has no value...here very tasty jain foods are available which are extremely costly but very tasty. Veg roles are like complete dinner. Yes need little bit sanitation as they are using mobiles & notes in same hand serving food. Shoe stands are available. Once must visit....to feel the beauty of devotion. 🙂

This is a fantastic place and must visit if one is in UJJAIN. This is completely free and due to this maintenance of the park is a challenge. It is suggested that the administration should charge a reasonable entry fees for maintaining economics of the park and also keeping unnecessary crowd away from the park. For daily visitors, administration can go for an option of monthly pass. Overall, it is a good and health concious place to visit with preparation.

Triveni Archaeological Museum, Ujjain Triveni Archaeological Museum is being established by Directorate of Archaeology, Archives and Museums M.P. Government on the occasion of Simhasth 2016. It comprises of 3 galleries named Shaiv, Vaishnava and Shakt. The Triveni concepts is based on the composition of three cult particular Shaivayan (Shiv), Krishnayan(Vasudev Krishna) and Durgayan (goddess Durga). The stone sculpture, coins, miniature painting and other material have been displayed in these gallery. SHAIVAYAN- Shaiva Gallery The Ujjaini was a centre of shaiv sect in Malwa since Pauranic period, Ujjaini and Mahakal were established after the great victoy of Shiv over demon Tripur. Ujjaini described as shaiv pilgrmage in Aranyak parv of Mahabharat. Mahakal of Ujjaini is also counted in lingayatas, five holy shivlingas, ashta guhya lingas and in 12 jyotirlingas. The four faced shivling of Pinglashwar and standing nandi of Sandipani hermitage are earlier evidences of shaiv sects in ujjaini. The temples were constructed in M.P. since the Shung period which contiued to 13th century A.D. when shaiv sect gradually developed and flourished. Sculptures desplayed in this gallery are the best specimen of art developed in in different regions of M.P. in early medieval period. It has a nice collection of Hindu Mythology statues and Art Work, alongwith coin collection as well. But what stood out among All this was the Pathetic behaviour of Staff who were constantly following My family like Creeps. There was not a single female security personnel in the premises. Also what is the point of ticket checking at entrance if every single security personnel inside the museum will keep asking about it. I have Never felt such threatened for safety of my family. Will NOT AT ALL RECOMMEND to visit after dark if you have a women alongwith you.

The museum has fascinating artifacts and is perfect for exploring history and culture. The only negative aspect of this place is its staff that ruins the experience. Despite paying ₹100 for camera access, they constantly hover to prevent recording and behave discourteously toward visitors- the very guests whose money supports their livelihood, especially the person handling the top floor.

If you're into arts, history, spirituality and architecture thn Triveni Museum is the best place to experience our ruch cultural and architectural heritage and design. The museum hosts various statues ranging from prehistoric era, beautifully crafted and in a well preserved condition. The art gallery exhibits some of the very fine and detailed paintings. Museum also has a small souvenir shop where the visitors can buy books or metal statues. It take almost couple of hours when you are a keen observer and ardent art lover. Overall, an interesting place which one can definitely can't miss during Mahakaleshwar visit. The only thing which can be added up are: more sitting areas specially for elderly persons within the premises, provision for drinking water on upper floor, non working AC's are a bit trouble specially on the first floor.

Visited Shree Bada Ganesh Mandir recently. The temple has great spiritual importance in Ujjain. The idol of Lord Ganesha is really huge and impressive. You can feel a peaceful vibe the moment you enter. Architecture is traditional and holds cultural value. The location is central and easy to find via Google Maps. However, the surrounding area feels a bit congested. There’s limited parking space, especially during rush hours. Cleanliness could be improved, especially around the entrance. Footwear management is a bit unorganized. There are usually many visitors, which creates long queues. Despite the crowd, darshan was smooth after a short wait. Local shops outside the temple add to the charm but create noise. The temple premises are not very well-maintained. Some walls and areas look old and need restoration. Priests were available, but a few seemed in a hurry. It would be nice if there were signboards with historical info. Lighting inside the mandir was decent but could be better. Aarti experience was good but not very memorable. Not much seating area available for elderly people. Overall, it’s a good place to visit once for spiritual reasons. With better cleanliness and management, it could be great. It holds sentimental and religious value for many.

This place is near Mahakal Temple, you can directly view Mahakal Temple in front of this place. Bade Ganeshji Temple is very old and historical place. You can read the history written over there. Ganpati Bappa Morya. Must visit this Temple. 🛕

Bada Ganesh mandir is situated just opposite to mahakal entry gate no 4. It will take 15 minutes or less to view full temple. A big statue of ganpati ji is inside the temple at the entrance on right side.

Visited yesterday. Very big statue of Lord Ganesh near the entrance of mahakaleshwar. Well maintained.

The Ganesh idol at the Bade Ganesh Ji ka Mandir is about 18 feet high and 10 feet wide and the trunk of Lord Ganesh in this statue is clockwise. There are a trident and swastika on the head of the statue & the third eye in the middle.

This a temple is outside of Mahakaleshwar temple. Inside the temple there are Lord Navagraha, Lord Hanuman, Maa Durga idols are worshiped.

Shree Bada Ganesh Mandir is located in the lane while visiting mahakaal mandir. A beautiful temple of bhagwaan Ganesh with a big Ganesh idol. Post darshan of mahakal mandir you can visit here. You can click pics from mobile but selfies are strictly prohibited.

Before entering Ujjaini from Indore to your left side of the highway you get this Navgrah Shani Mandir of Ujjain located in the banks of shipra river and triveni ghat. The unique feature of this temple is all the navagrahas are in individual sanctum sanctorum exactly as it is in the navagraha in a single pedestal. The shani bhagwan is in the back side middle facing west. The Sun is the middle of the nine mandirs and entry is through shukran in the front mandir. sufficient parking space is available and one of the important temples before even entering ujjaini from Indore. Calm and serene atmosphere.

Place is nice.... Good interior... But too much mosquitoes .... Food contains too much colour ..... although they tried their best to serve .... Buttermilk was just like a salty water nothing else... Starter contains too much schezwan sauce .... Over all it was ok ....

Sky way restaurant is overall a good restaurant. The taste of food is good. Service is also very nice and quality is also good. The area of sitting and surround feeling is also nice. But, the prices are a bit costly here. The cost to taste and quality ratio is not that much good. But the party hall and the dj, both together is a superb place for a nice party. You will have fun partying here. One of the best DJ is here. But one drawback is the prices are are bit high, else everything is very good

I am a hard-core non-vegetarian. I had been here with my family as I could not find any decent restaurant serving non-vegetarian dishes in Ujjain. The food is really excellent, specially the sizzlers. I found the price very reasonable. One suggestion : The rest-rooms should be better maintained.

SkyWay is a good palce for celebrating birthday party, interaction party, small family function. The quality of food is maintained. And the behaviour of staff is too good and friendly. It is little bit costly but the decoram and seating arrangement is very nice. It is suitable for candle night dinner😂😂😂.

Location is good, Just in front of ISKON Temple, Parking is available. Restaurant is on first floor. Lift facility is available. Food taste is good, quantity is good. Rates are comparatively high from other restaurants. Service take 20-25 Minutes to serve, if other table are full service takes more than 30 minutes.

Poor Service ! Made us sit for an hour yet failed to serve the food after the starters. Staff didn't bother to even apologise for the delay. And mind it, when we reached there was just one table occupied.

They are very un professional. Outside board is written as 'Open' but when go inside and go to upstairs with senior citizens they said we are booked and we will serve you after 1 hour only, table was vacant but they don't want to take orders and some poor 15 peoples was seating and they was also shouting for thier food. They can't handle even 15 members properly. Lady who was seating on counter busy in cctv and mobile don't have politeness towards customer. When we asked her why she not informed us downstairs they don't serve more than 15 people. She said fir ' Customer kaise aayenge humare yaha'. Don't waste your time in this restaurant.

Damruwala Restaurant is one of the best restaurant to taste the local cuisine as I tried their Daal Bafli thali and Puri Sabji which was very tasty and fulfilling, if you really want to try the local food of Ujjain then you must visit it.

The worst food i ever tried in Madhya Pradesh. I have ordered rajma chawal and paneer masala. It tastes like the food is prepared long time ago and full of Dalchini flavour. Dalchini is overdosed to paneer and rajma. Disgusting in Ujjain. Whole mood spoiled.

We ordered unlimited thali, bafla thali and ghar jaisi thali. Food was okay. But service is very very bad. Least interested in serving you. I tried the Malwa thali, it was a new thing to try and I loved it.

The restaurant serves food quickly and good quality is good esp for traditional dal bafna. Ambience is a bit sad, the stairwell up is quite run down. The tables and walls also look old and not very clean.

I am a frequent visitor to mahakal, from last 10yrs. Initially this hotel was good, however in recent visits the quality was gone down significantly. If you are looking for to explore Dal bafla in budget, then only visit.

Though location was good the entrance was not. Food was very tangy. They should stop using Hyderabad's before biryani when it tastes nothing like it. Disappointed to know the item available at the restaurant is not available in Zomato.

Love to taste chicken here , as this place already known for their food. For fitness lover, there is also diet meal available here. In ujjain, best place to eat non veg here.

Shalimar restaurant is located on Dewas Road near Lotus Electronics. I have visited here 3 times and everytime the service was a bit slow. Food is good not great. Prices are a bit on a higher side but affordable. The tableware they use is of low quality melamine and looks very old and disgusting and makes your mood off instantly. You will not feel like eating in it at all. The waiters are well behaved but dress in old and soiled clothes and looks like they have not taken bath from few days. All in all my advice to my friends is use ZOMATO or SWIGGY and enjoy food at the convinience of your Home instead of going here and getting stressed.

A good restaurant specially for non-vegetarian lovers. Non-veg is best here but veg is ok-ok. You will get different varieties of non-veg. Staff is good and service is quick.
