Madikeri Fort is a historic 17th-century fort and palace that now houses a museum. The fort features two whimsical elephant sculptures, adding to its charm. Located in the beautiful hill station of Madikeri in Karnataka, India, the fort is one of the must-visit attractions in the area. Visitors can also explore nearby tourist spots such as Rajas Seat, Omkareshwara Temple, Abbey Falls, and more.
Renovation work was going on, Visit inside fort was restricted. Nearby there is small Government Museum, Can spend 10-15 minutes. Can come here for walking purpose. Near to fort there is one small temple dedicated to Ganesha.
Srinidhi S — Google review
It's worth visiting Fort palace is closed due to renovation Also, a small museum can be provided for a fee. Fort entry is free While you enter the museum, make sure you have change in cash, they'll not accept any UPI or card payments

1.if you looking for FORT , then please dont come here , there is nothing to watch here. 2. Once you enter in the fort premises (car parking is free) there is a small museum, which has old archeological idols. Thats it , yes that's it. 3. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE PLACE FOR URINAL. 4. In the name of fort there is a just a broken boundary and a temple. 5. I went there 2 days after Dusshera and some construction work was ongoing and forts main area was closed.

we have seen Madikeri Fort in evening. it was calm and serene place. there is a church which converted to Museum. Ticket Counter for Museum was open and lady rudely denied to provide tickets even requesting multiple times. These is small Temple of Ganesha. Lot of Ganesh Statue seen nearby Temple. Parking: Available Restroom: Available Fort Entry Ticket: Free Best time time to visit: Evening About Fort: Madikeri Fort, located in the heart of Coorg, is one of the region’s most iconic historical landmarks. Built in the 17th century by Mudduraja and later renovated by Tipu Sultan, the fort reflects a blend of ancient architecture and royal heritage. Visitors are greeted with massive stone walls, an old church inside the complex, and a museum that displays Coorg’s rich past. From the fort’s viewpoint, one can enjoy panoramic views of Madikeri town and its mist-covered hills. The place is calm, less crowded, and ideal for history enthusiasts and photographers. Best time to visit is from October to May when the weather is pleasant.
Devendra C — Google review
We visited Madikeri Fort and Museum in June and were deeply disappointed by the state of neglect. The fort walls are covered in moss, several structures have collapsed and remain unattended, and the entire site feels poorly maintained. The museum is also in disrepair, with ancient artefacts left in a concerning condition. Despite charging an entry fee of Rs. 10 per person, it’s unclear how those funds are being used for upkeep. Valuable stone statues and plaques with ancient inscriptions are kept outside, exposed to rain and weather damage. As a history lover, it was disheartening to witness such an important heritage site left in this state. This place has so much potential, but sadly, it feels like it’s being forgotten.
Rutuja — Google review
When we went, the fort was undergoing maintainance. But, we visited the museum and got to see few ancient sculptures, idols and artifacts. However, I feel like all these things were poorly maintained and government should take some strong action to protect the history. Also, in the fort there were sculptures of 2 elephants. Which made it quite unique.
Sunita Y — Google review
If look up to all other coorg tourist spot this fort is way behind. Looks like it's under renovation some of the part is transferred in government office. There is no entry fee but has a small museum with old art and collection of coin gun and clothes. There is nothing to look except some city view and two elephant. Needed highly support to preserve the site and make it beautiful spot.
Keyur P — Google review
This fort is right at the heart of Madikeri town offering scenic views of the area. Unfortunately the place can be best described as ruins of something that was once a fort. The authorities must take good care of the structures and also improve the overall visitor experience.

Government Museum -Madikeri

Historical place museum
The Government Museum Madikeri, located within the Madikeri Fort campus, is a fascinating attraction with a diverse collection of historical artifacts dating back to the 16th century. The museum also features a garden with stunning views of the city. Visitors can explore ancient sculptures, weapons, coins, clothing, masks and paintings. Additionally, the museum shop offers books on Karnataka heritage for those interested in delving deeper into local history.
An church converted into a museum. It houses fascinating antiques - from guns and swords to General Cariappa's shield. But what really caught my attention was the tiniest cannon - small in size, yet surprisingly heavy when I tried to move it! Overall a good place for antique lovers.
Britto A — Google review
Fort on renovation, Government Museum is very small with very limited historical collections. Quick in and out place not bad, you have to pay only 10 rupees adults and 5 rupees kids. Old church turned in to museum.
Madhusudan N — Google review
It was sad to see the condition of the palace. The museum was okay as there were staffs inside and it's a small chapel which has been converted to the museum with no much artifacts inside. However its the condition of the palace that saddened me. Due to lack of maintenence its boundaries are being taken over by flora and the old walls and building around it is getting damaged 🥲 I hope they restore it fully soon.
Vishnu U — Google review
Situated just past the entrance to the Madikeri Fort (the main palace of which is currently closed for renovations), the Government Museum is housed inside a small old church dating to 1855 (according to a partly-erased sign outside). In 1971, the church seems to have been deconsecrated and turned into a museum. It's a really tiny museum, and extremely haphazard: just about anything even slightly old has been put in here. So while there are 14th century stone carvings, there are also modern artworks, typewriters, swords and daggers, weighing stones and so on. Some of it is mislabelled, and even what labels are correct have very scanty information. More than the museum's collection, I found its building interesting: the church has some beautiful stained glass at one end, and there are several plaques, mostly of white marble, most of them commemorating the dead of the two world wars. Entry fees are Rs 10 per adult and Rs 5 per child.
Madhulika L — Google review
Madikeri Fort was almost a gone historical place with little preservance of fort walls. To see the Madikeri view one can go the fort. Govt Museum was worth seeing with little price.
Kishore G — Google review
The museum was just okay—there weren’t many artifacts, and the collection didn’t seem to follow any specific historical timeline or theme. Most of the items on display were fairly recent and felt somewhat random. The entry ticket is ₹10 per adult, and the museum opens at 10 AM. It's a quick visit if you’re nearby, but not something to go out of your way for.
Rajasi S — Google review
Madikeri Fort is a historic spot in the heart of Madikeri. It has an old-world charm with stone walls, a small museum, and a church inside. Nice for a quick visit and to learn some local history, but not very well maintained and can feel underwhelming. Good to combine with other attractions nearby No nothing information is there No need to charge 20 Ruppes for this For the fort entry is free For museum they charging

We had a wonderful dining experience at Raintree Restaurant. A special mention goes to Bhim Singh, who took exceptional care of us with his warm hospitality and prompt service, making our meal even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding – the Prawns Ghee Roast was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, while the Chicken Pepper Fry had just the right balance of heat and aroma. Pairing them with Appam and fragrant Ghee Rice made for a wholesome and satisfying combination. We ended our meal with Payeshum, which was the perfect sweet finish – creamy, comforting, and delicious. Overall, Raintree impressed us with its authentic flavors, attentive staff, and relaxing ambience. Definitely a must-visit when in Coorg!

This Restaurant in Coorg has a really good atmosphere. The service is also great with friendly and attentive staff. They offer a large variety of food options and the quality of every dish is really good. I also loved the wide range of brewed coffee available here. A great place to enjoy a delicious meal and a nice cup of coffee in Coorg.

"As we wandered through the charming streets of Medikeri, our stomachs began to rumble, and we stumbled upon the enchanting Rain Tree restaurant. Stepping inside was like stepping back in time - the beautifully restored old architecture transported us to a bygone era. The intricate details, the rustic charm, and the rich history of the building seemed to whisper stories of the past. But it was the flavors that truly brought the stories to life. The Biriyani and Chicken Butter Masala were like a symphony of spices, each bite a harmonious blend of flavors that left us wanting more. Every morsel was a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs. And then, there was the hospitality - warm, genuine, and heartfelt. Mr. Bhim Singh and the rest of the staff welcomed us with open arms, making us feel like part of the family. Their attentive service and warm smiles added to the charm of the restaurant, making our dining experience truly unforgettable. A visit to Rain Tree restaurant in Medikeri is a must, not just for the delicious food, but for the experience itself. It's a place where history meets flavor, and hospitality meets heart. We'll carry the memories of this delightful meal with us, and can't wait to return to this culinary gem in Coorg."

If you're in Coorg and looking for a place that combines delicious food with heartfelt hospitality, Raintree is a must-visit. What makes this restaurant truly special isn’t just what’s on the plate, but the experience that surrounds it — something that’s shaped by the presence of its owner, Mr. Bheem Singh. With years of experience in the hospitality world, Mr. Singh brings a rare level of care and attention to every guest. From personally welcoming diners to stopping by each table for a warm chat — and even helping with service — his involvement goes far beyond what you’d expect. It creates an atmosphere that feels less like dining out and more like being hosted in someone’s home. The food is exceptional, but it’s the genuine warmth and thoughtful service that left a lasting impression. Raintree isn’t just a great restaurant in Coorg — it’s an experience that stays with you. Highly recommended for those who appreciate both fine flavors and a personal touch.

I visited this place for lunch, and it was fantastic! The parking was convenient, and the hospitality from Bheem Singh ji and his entire team was exceptional. Everyone was humble and attentive. The food tastes awesome, every dish was well-balanced and flavorful. The pricing is reasonable and comparable to any other fine dining restaurant.
ABHIJEET C — Google review
Our very first meal in Coorg was at this restaurant, and it ended up being the best one of our whole trip. Seriously, the Murgh Garlic Chicken Tikka and the Chicken & Paneer Ghee Roast were fantastic. The service was good, and even though it was a bit pricey, we had such a great time that it was totally worth it.
Arun C — Google review
Raintree Restaurant truly stands out as an exceptional dining experience in Coorg, thanks to the passion and presence of its owner, Mr. Bheem Singh. As a stalwart of the hospitality industry, Mr. Singh’s warmth and dedication are evident from the moment you step in—he greets guests personally, engages in friendly conversations at almost every table, and even serves dishes himself, making everyone feel right at home. During our visit, we enjoyed the lemon coriander chicken soup and cream of chicken soup, both of which were rich and flavorful. The prawn ghee roast and chicken Chettinad were absolute highlights—perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. The akki roti paired beautifully with the curries, and we finished our meal with a delicious cappuccino and the unique tender coconut payasam, a delightful end to our culinary journey. Beyond the outstanding food, what truly sets Raintree apart is the genuine hospitality. It was, without a doubt, the best meal we’ve had in Coorg so far. Highly recommended for anyone seeking not just great food, but an experience that feels welcoming and memorable, thanks to Mr. Bheem Singh’s remarkable leadership and personal touch. Couldn't wait to take snaps of the food since we were hungry and the food seemed irresistible.

Food is okay but overpriced. Masala dosa quantity is very small and taste is just average. Puri is good, but not sure why they serve it with chutney when there’s already sambar — it doesn’t go well. Baji is good and buns are fine but not that great. Overall, decent but not worth the cost.

We went there to have snacks, the place was good and food was great. It is near the main market. So, one can easily find this and can have breakfast there. Also, they have quite a huge parking space and people can visit with family. We had dosa and puri bhaji. Food was good.

Gobi manchurian was good, fried rice was salty and wasn't that good. Less parking space. Good ambience.

Visited Udupi Garden Hotel recently. The place was okay, but there were some major issues. During rainy weather, water was leaking inside, which made it uncomfortable. We also had to wait more than 20 to 30 minutes for our food, which was frustrating. The service was quite poor and not attentive at all. Food was decent, but the overall experience could have been much better. The atmosphere at Udupi Garden Hotel is very good and pleasant

Shri Omkareshwara Swamy Temple, Madikeri

4.6
(1754)
Hindu temple
Place of worship
Shree Omkareshwara Temple in Madikeri is a renowned 19th-century site dedicated to Shiva, featuring a unique blend of Gothic and Islamic architectural styles. The temple's centerpiece is a dome with four minarets at the corners, creating an intriguing visual appeal. It holds historical significance as the Shivalinga was brought from Varanasi, adding to its spiritual aura.
A Sacred Sanctuary in the Heart of Madikeri Shri Omkareshwara Swamy Temple is not just a place of worship—it’s a space that radiates peace, devotion, and timeless spiritual energy. Nestled in the scenic hills of Madikeri, the temple stands as a quiet reminder of divine presence, drawing in both devotees and seekers alike. The moment you step through the gates, there’s a palpable sense of stillness and reverence. The architecture is simple yet striking, with a unique blend of Islamic and Gothic influences—reflecting centuries of faith and history. But it’s not the structure alone that makes this temple special; it’s the atmosphere. The sacred pond, the soft chime of temple bells, and the scent of incense in the air create a space where your thoughts naturally quiet down. Dedicated to Lord Shiva in his Omkareshwara form, the temple invites you to pause, reflect, and reconnect—with yourself, with the divine, and with the present moment. Whether you come to offer prayers or just to sit in silence, there’s something grounding about the experience. This is not a tourist spot—it’s a spiritual retreat. If you come with an open heart and a quiet mind, you’ll leave feeling lighter, calmer, and deeply blessed.

Shri Omkareshwara Swamy Temple in Madikeri offers a serene escape with its unique architecture and peaceful atmosphere. The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, stands out with its blend of Hindu and Islamic architectural influences. The dress code and photography restrictions contribute to a respectful and contemplative environment. Before entering the main shrine, you'll encounter a serene pond teeming with fish, adding to the tranquil ambiance. While the temple is known for its tranquility, be prepared for limited parking. Overall, it's a worthwhile visit for those seeking a spiritual experience in Madikeri.

A beautiful temple in madikeri dedicated to lord Shiva🔱 It was built in 1820 by King Lingarajendra after feeling remorseful for killing an innocent Brahmin. We visited temple during night time and it was peaceful, calm and cool. Strictly follow their dress code(shorts or short dresses not allowed) otherwise no entry inside. There is also large water tank with centre mandtap which adds more charm to it. It is situated in centre of town and can be easily reached. Other nearby attractions: Raja seat garden, madikeri fort etc. Must visit this temple during your coorg visit🪷✨

A very serene experience. Dedicated to lord Shiva, the Omkareshwar temple is a heritage gem that all visitors will definitely adore. Ample parking just outside the temple premises. Photography is not allowed inside the main sanctum. Beautiful paintings adorn the inside walls offering a surreal experience while we perform the pradakshina. Has strict attire policy so please do ensure to wear respectful clothing before gaining entry.

I visited Shri Omkareshwara Swamy Temple in Madikeri last week, and it was a peaceful and pleasant experience. The temple has a calm and spiritual atmosphere that really helps you unwind from the usual busy tourist pace in Coorg. It’s located right in the heart of Madikeri town, yet it feels like a world away from all the noise and traffic once you step inside. The most unique part of this temple is its architecture. It’s a blend of Islamic and Gothic styles, which makes it stand out from other temples in the region. The dome on top and the minaret-style corners make it look more like a dargah or a church at first glance, but inside it holds a powerful Shiva linga, worshipped as Lord Omkareshwara. This mix of styles gives it a distinct identity, and it was quite fascinating to see such a structure dedicated to Lord Shiva. Right in front of the temple, there is a large pond filled with golden fish, which adds to the beauty and serenity of the place. Watching the fish swim around calmly was relaxing, and it’s also a spot where many people just sit for a while and enjoy the quiet. The pond reflects the temple beautifully, especially in the early morning or evening light, creating a very photogenic and peaceful scene. The temple is said to have been built in 1820 by King Lingarajendra II, and it has a small yet interesting legend behind it. According to local belief, the king constructed this temple to make amends for a grave mistake, and that's why it's called Omkareshwara – to represent the presence of Lord Shiva. Knowing a bit of this background made the visit feel even more meaningful. The temple isn’t very crowded, which is great if you’re looking for some spiritual time or just want to sit and absorb the atmosphere. I went during the evening, and the peaceful ambiance, along with the sound of bells and chants, really touched my heart. Devotees can walk around the inner sanctum, offer prayers, and light lamps. There are also a few benches around the pond where you can relax and just enjoy the surroundings. In terms of cleanliness and maintenance, I found the place to be quite well-kept. It’s not overly commercialized, which makes it a calm spot compared to other tourist-heavy locations. There are a few small shops outside selling puja items, but nothing too crowded or noisy. Overall, my visit to Shri Omkareshwara Temple was a lovely experience. It’s a perfect place for a short, peaceful stop in Madikeri – whether you're spiritually inclined or just someone who appreciates good architecture and serene vibes. Don’t miss it if you’re exploring the town.

Located in the heart of Madikeri, this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva stands out with its unique architectural blend of Gothic and Islamic styles. Built in 1820 by King Lingarajendra II, it features a dome and minarets, a departure from traditional South Indian temple architecture. A Shiva Lingam, believed to be brought from Kashi (Varanasi), is enshrined within. The temple offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere for devotees and visitors. A water tank in front of the temple, teeming with fish, adds to the tranquil ambiance and provides a scenic view, especially during the early mornings and evenings. The temple is easily accessible and a must-visit for those seeking spiritual solace and architectural intrigue in Coorg. Photography is not allowed inside the temple, and a respectful dress code is enforced.

Shri Omkareshwara Swamy Temple in Madikeri is a peaceful and spiritually uplifting place, offering a unique blend of Hindu and Islamic architectural styles. The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is over 200 years old and carries deep historical and spiritual significance. It is said that the Shiva Linga here was brought from Kashi (Varanasi), and the temple was built by a king as an act of atonement. The serene pond (Koneru) in front of the temple, filled with koi fish and tortoises, adds to the tranquil atmosphere. Inside, the management provides a Kumkuma Archane for ₹100, along with one coconut and two bananas in a traditional steel bowl as part of the offering. There are certain dress codes and photography restrictions that help maintain a respectful and calm environment. Parking can be limited, so plan accordingly. A must-visit spot in Madikeri for those interested in spirituality, history, and peaceful surroundings.

Omkareshwar Temple: A Divine Abode of Peace Amidst Devotion My recent visit to the sacred Omkareshwar Temple left an indelible mark on my soul. Nestled in a truly divine setting, the journey itself felt like a pilgrimage, with the natural beauty surrounding the temple preparing the heart for a spiritual encounter. Upon arrival, the temple precinct buzzed with the energy of devotees, a testament to the deep faith this site inspires. While the crowd was considerable, it somehow added to the vibrant spiritual atmosphere rather than detracting from it. The rhythmic chanting of prayers, the fragrance of incense, and the sight of countless hands folded in reverence created a powerful and unifying experience. Stepping inside the temple, a profound sense of peace washed over me. The ancient architecture, with its intricate carvings and timeless aura, spoke volumes of the centuries of devotion that have permeated these walls. The darshan of Lord Omkareshwar was a truly moving experience, leaving me with a feeling of profound tranquility and connection. Despite the bustling activity outside, the inner sanctum offered a sanctuary of calm. It was a space where one could easily lose oneself in prayer and contemplation. The gentle murmur of sacred verses and the soft glow of lamps created an ambiance that fostered introspection and a deep sense of the divine presence. The experience at Omkareshwar was a beautiful blend of vibrant devotion and serene peace. It is a place where the spiritual energy is palpable, and where even amidst a crowd, one can find a profound sense of personal connection with the divine. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this sacred temple for anyone seeking spiritual solace and a truly divine experience.

Coorg Cuisine, located near the Madikeri Fort, is a popular spot known for its delicious curries and affordable prices. The restaurant has a simple ambiance but offers flavorful dishes like Pandi Curry and Bamboo Shoot Curry that can be paired with Neer Dosas, Akki Rotis or Ghee Rice. With a seating capacity of about 20 people, it's always bustling with locals and travelers.
We visited Coorg Cuisine for lunch during our trip to Coorg and had a delightful experience. This is an old, well-known restaurant serving authentic Coorgi dishes. We tried the Mutton Fry (dry) and Pork Fry (dry) with chapatis, along with Lemon Soda with Honey and Masala Chaach. The mutton was exceptionally tasty and tender—definitely the highlight of the meal. The pork had a nice tangy flavor, though we felt the pieces could have been a bit more meaty. The chaach was refreshing and flavorful, while the lemon soda was decent, though not particularly special. The location is a big plus, you get a scenic view of the mountains from outside the restaurant. There’s also a waiting area with chairs, which is a thoughtful touch given the popularity of the place. Service was reasonably quick, and the staff were courteous and attentive. Prices are very fair for the quality and quantity offered, making it good value for money. Overall, a great place to try traditional Coorgi cuisine in a pleasant setting.

We were team of 10, 4 Non Veg and 6 Veg wards. Top Notch: Veg: Tender Coconut Pudding Dessert. Bamboo Shoot Fry, Ghee Rice and baby Bringjal. Good: Chicken Pepper Dry. Disaster: Halwa, Mutton Fry, Pork Fry and pork Curry. Mutton had 4 pieces of that 3 were not good. 1 Bone, 1 Fat and other was Liver Piece. Pork was totally waste with smaller pieces that doesn't have full meat piece in 2 dishes Fry and Curry. Pork Chops was decent. Overall not that great for the hype and value for money.

I noticed many people visit here expecting authentic Coorg cuisine, but honestly, it didn’t meet the hype. Most of the crowd seemed to be tourists, and the taste was just average. I tried the Chicken Pepper Dry and Fish Curry—both were underwhelming. I’ve had much better fish curry and food in Bangalore itself. On top of that, they have only one washroom, and you literally have to stand in a queue to use it. If you’re traveling from Bangalore, don’t keep your expectations too high.

Food was absolutely wonderful, every dish tasted fantastic! I genuinely enjoyed the flavors and would definitely visit again. I’d also recommend it to others without hesitation. The only downside was the service. The servers seemed to struggle a bit with language understanding and my cold beverage was served at room temperature. Overall, though, it was a good experience and well worth a visit.

Loved the Baby brinjal fry and Pork fry, must try! The staples like kadambuttu and akki roti complement the curries well. Desserts like litchi pudding and akki payasam were decent as well. Do reach by 7pm for dinner, they open on time and serve pretty quick by 7:30pm.

Coorg cuisine was anything, but. Went here in a lot of excitement after reading reviews, to try authentic pandhi curry, and other coorg special items, but honestly left a bit disappointed. Pork Ribs - 2/5, mostly just fat, not very good cuts Pandhi Curry - 1/5, was mostly bone, very very less meat. Akki roti - felt burnt and stale. Others in our group ordered chicken and that wasn't very enjoyable too.

One of the best places in Madikeri for authentic Coorg cuisine. The restaurant owners are very friendly. Their chicken curry, mutton dishes, and akki rotti are outstanding. The chicken pepper dry tastes almost like KFC chicken. I'd definitely love to visit again.

The food is not worth the hype. Served cold tastes normal nothing special. Pathetic service we have asked for hot water the ddn serve. Even after informing the owner the didn’t serve. Please go to some better restaurant. I’ll never go there again ,I’m so disappointed with their service and food . Passion fruit juice and tender coconut pudding was better.

Raja’s Seat is one of the most popular viewpoints in Coorg, and after visiting it for sunset, I completely understand why. The name literally means “Seat of the King,” and it’s said that the kings of Kodagu once came here to watch the sunrise and sunset. Today, it’s still one of the best spots to take in the breathtaking landscape of Coorg’s rolling hills and misty valleys. I went during the evening hours, just in time for sunset, and the view was absolutely mesmerizing. As the sun slowly dipped behind the Western Ghats, the sky turned shades of orange, pink, and purple, casting a magical glow over the entire valley. It was a peaceful yet lively moment — peaceful because of the beauty around, and lively because of the energy of the crowd, everyone trying to capture that perfect shot. There’s a small entry fee of ₹20, and the place is well-maintained with gardens, benches, and a small musical fountain area. The viewpoint can get very crowded during sunset, so it’s best to arrive at least 30–40 minutes early if you want a good spot to sit and enjoy. Parking is available nearby, and there are several stalls outside selling snacks, tea, and coffee — perfect for enjoying the view with something warm in hand. Overall, Raja’s Seat is a must-visit location in Coorg, especially for photographers and nature lovers. The sunset view here truly feels like the perfect ending to a day in this hill town — serene, colorful, and unforgettable. Best time to visit: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM (for sunset) Entry fee: ₹20 per person

Raja’s Seat Garden, Madikeri, Coorg: --- Raja’s Seat, perched atop Stuart Hill in Madikeri, Coorg, is a classic destination blending natural beauty, colonial history, and tranquil vistas. Often referred to as the “Seat of the King,” this spot was once the place where the Rajas of Kodagu came to relax, enjoy views of sunrise and sunset, and soak in the cool hill-air. The garden itself is beautifully maintained. Flower beds of seasonal blooms, neatly trimmed hedges, paved walkways, and decorative fountains create an environment that is both picturesque and soothing for a leisurely stroll. A pavilion with four pillars bridged by arches, known as Raja’s Seat proper, serves as the central viewpoint. One of the major draws is the view. Early morning mist clinging to the valleys, the rolling hills, and later the sunset sky ablaze with colour as the sun dips behind the Western Ghats—these moments are what make Raja’s Seat memorable. There are some additional attractions: a toy train ride around the garden (a hit with children) , musical fountain shows in the evening at scheduled times , and viewpoints at different levels allowing for slightly varied vistas. On the flip side, Raja’s Seat tends to get quite crowded, especially around sunset or on weekends. Parking can be a bit inconvenient. Also, if the weather is cloudy or mist thick, the views may be obscured. In terms of value, the entry fee is minimal (around INR 20), making the experience very affordable. Visiting during weekdays, or early morning/just before sunset, gives a more peaceful, immersive experience. --- Verdict: Raja’s Seat is a must-visit in Coorg. For anyone who enjoys nature, photography, or relaxed hill-town vibes, it delivers—magical views, well-kept gardens, and a touch of historical nostalgia. Just plan timing well to avoid the crowds.

It was one of the biggest tourist attraction in the coorg. Lot of people were there due to the long weekend. Its good to visit during the sunset time. Beautfil scenery and it gives pleasant experience for the tourists. All people were taking pictures and also enjoying the fog weather. There was a slight drizzle to make the climate more pleasant. Zipline is there for the adults. Small play area available for the kids. There was music water fountain show around 7:30 pm. Outside the garden there are a lot shops they serve hot snacks! Overall we had great time over here irrespective of insane crowds.

Raja’s Seat Garden in Coorg is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy nature. The garden is well-maintained with colorful flowers, green lawns, and a peaceful atmosphere. The main highlight is the viewpoint — it offers a stunning view of the hills and valleys, especially during sunrise or sunset. There’s also a musical fountain show in the evening, which is a nice touch for visitors. The place can get a bit crowded during weekends or holidays, but it’s definitely worth visiting for the scenic beauty and cool weather.

Raja’s Seat Garden in Coorg is not just a tourist spot but a place to slow down and connect with nature. A short time here will leave you refreshed and remind you why Coorg is called the “Scotland of India.” Zip line activity available, it cost 300 INR per person. Children play area available for below 5 years separate. Above 5 years (depends on weight) trampoline, sky walk, tire tower and other activity available at cost of 150 INR for one child. No need of any advance booking. Best time to visit around sunset.

Great food, serene views and tranquil atmosphere. Must visit cafe in the heart of Madekeri, Coorg. Had an amazing opportunity to meet the owner Bhim Singh ji, who has an international experience in hospitality service of over 45+ years. He personally meets and greets his guests and also explains the history of the heritage property which belonged to the freedom fighter couple. 100 year old property situated at a beautiful ridge which will give a sense of peace while sipping your coffee. The food items are all curated and made to your taste. Must try - Coconut Rabdi Coffee - Cappuccino and Cafe Mocha.

It's a very nice cafe in Coorg to spend time with your family and if you have pets there is a good pet friendly accommodation. We spent a lovely evening there with our furry friend. Suman Jana is the man who guided us to select the best dishes and gave us a great service. Apart from him all the staff are very friendly. Ambiance is nice, food is really delicious and quantity is also sufficient. Thank you.

Very limited veg options but food is good. Kids friendly options of food is available like dal kichadi and curd rice etccc. Their handwash and washroom is very very veryyyyyyy bad 😞 and worst. Washroom is unclean for ladies and kids why do hotels and restaurants doesn't have proper and clean washroom and handwash . Spending so much on interior and other things but inside the restaurant not even clean and hygiene wash basin and restrooms are not there. How come ladies and kids can use it ?

The south Indian restaurant Hotel Sri Shanthi Sagar is a popular tourist spot with its delicious Akki roti and Pot Kadai. It has a sizzler-like appearance and is spicy and tasty. The staff are not well maintained, wearing no masks, and the atmosphere is not good enough - it needs to be more clean.
Very good vegetarian restaurant located within Kodava Samaja complex at Madikeri. South Indian dishes are very tasty and the rates are very reasonable. Ambiance and service are good. Highly recommended to taste there dishes, if you are visiting Coorg. Breakfast combo is awesome with lot of dishes along with coffee/tea and it is more than enough for a single person. Both AC and non AC dining areas available.

Tried the Gobi Manchurian here and was impressed with the generous quantity they served – definitely worth it. Also had the Paneer Fried Rice, which was tasty and satisfying. However, I was a bit disappointed with the Muncho Soup – it didn't quite meet expectations. One suggestion: they serve soup in a steel bowl with a steel spoon, which makes it quite difficult to handle when it's hot. It would be much better if they used ceramic or melamine for serving hot items.

Was here on 6th oct 2025 Bill amount 600 Ordered gobi chilli - was good , tasted yummy. akki rotti - really soft akki roti loved it. chefs special handi curry( first option under chefs special). - was too oily ! Other north indian curry wasn't oily. Since it was chefs special they put it inside heated handi which have a smoked flavour. But They added oil to it to avoid curry from getting burnt!. But it was tooo oily. Filter coffee- decent very good filter cofee. Note:- People who prefer such kind oily food may enjoy it. People like me can order something which you normally order and inform to put less oil!.

Visited this vegetarian restaurant recently in coorg madikeri The food was fine and reasonable price and it would be hard to find parking though That said, the view from the restaurant is definitely a highlight. Tiger Tiger is a popular restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food is varied and exciting, and the service is always attentive. There's something for everyone at Tiger Tiger, whether you're looking for a casual meal or an upscale experience.
We visited this lovely local cuisine restaurant for a sunday lunch and boy, it was a sunday feast indeed. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. We ordered: Pork masala (Pandhi Barthad) - Very clean and homely flavoured pork starter. 5/5 Chicken cutlet - Definitely the highlight of the menu, so juicy and packed with flavours! 5/5 Mutton curry - A unique flavoured homemade mutton curry with succulent mutton pieces. 5/5 Ghee rice - 5/5 Rice balls - Something very interesting and is apparently a local food item. Must try. 5/5 Fresh lime water - Unexpectedly extraordinary. Opt for the salted one. Vanilla Ice cream with passion fruit jelly - Induced a food coma. Definitely visiting this place whenever I come to Coorg! A true gem of this town and easily the best place to experience local homecooked food.

Wanted to have some authentic Kodava (Coorg) cuisine. Knew that vegetarians have limited options, but still wanted to try. Reached out to a coorgi friend and got recommended. No regrets. Had some lovely thali food consisting of Raw jackfruit pallya, bamboo shoots etc. akki rotti, Kadambuttu etc. Exactly what we were looking for. Homely food. Only negative is that you really have to discover it. Not easily accessible. But, worth searching for and having good here

Still the best local food I have had! A Must-Visit for Authentic Coorgi Food! I visited Tiger Tiger in Coorg years ago and recently had the chance to go back — and let me just say, it’s still just as incredible. If you’re coming here expecting fancy infrastructure, you’ll miss the point. This is a humble extension of a home, run by an amazing team of women who serve up what is hands down the best home-style Coorgi food in the region. Every dish is made fresh and with care, so do come early and be patient, as the food is cooked to order — and trust me, it’s worth the wait. The flavors are authentic, comforting, and unforgettable. You won’t find food like this anywhere else in Coorg. I’ll keep coming back for more, craving every single item on their menu. A truly special place that captures the heart of Coorgi hospitality and cuisine.

This charming little restaurant exudes a distinct Kodava flavor — simple, sweet, and cozy. The food is as authentic as it gets, served with warmth and a smile. Service is quick and prompt. It can comfortably seat about 20 guests at a time. Outside, a beautiful garden adds to the homely vibe, just like you’d find in a traditional Kodava household. The restroom is clean, though it doesn’t have a Western-style commode. Tip: Avoid relying on Google Maps to drive directly to the restaurant — it’s not ideal for four-wheelers. Instead, park at the Raja Seat parking area and take the rugged steps down, located right next to Kimberly Coffee. It’s a minutes walk.

The homemade vanilla ice cream with kiwi pudding stood out. So fresh. I don't like vanilla ice cream at all. Ordered with hesitation as there was nothing else for dessert. But the flavors were wonderful and ended up eating two. Run by ladies. They are a bit silent and humble. We had paputtu and pundi with veg gravy and bambooshoot palya. And one more (don't remember). It was good, though not extraordinary. Value for money overall. The coffee was very average (coming from Bangalore) and not hot enough. The serving can get delayed if crowded. Did not happen for us as we were the only customers and lucky us. It's worth a try, at least for the humbleness. They have a toilet at the entrance, outside the gate. Indian type. Hope no one else is using it as it is outside. If you are looking for a clean and western toilet, please avoid it. There are two ways to go. One is from the highway, and you can go down. People with bad knees and legs, it is a bad option. Another is to take a deep turn to drive down to reach the parallel road, which has easy access to the restaurant.
Gopalakrishnan ( — Google review
Authentic kodava dishes with reasonable pricing unlike those who hiked prices when they got popularity. Because of location this restaurant is getting less patrons i guess. But that's ok in a way because the seating here is minimal and they do everything by hand which takes some time for preparation. Staffs were patient with my/my family's impatient ass😆 Don't think twice because you have to run down steps to reach restaurant or it doesn't have gimmicks to attract patrons. Just go for it.

We had a very disappointing experience at Kailash Parbat during our recent visit to Madikeri. While we chose this restaurant hoping for a comfortable dining experience—especially with kids—we were met with nothing but poor service and indifference. Sharing a few of the key concerns: 1. Tea Service – We were served sugarless tea without any sugar sachets. By the time they brought a sugar bowl (after multiple reminders), we had already finished drinking it. 2. No Kid-Friendly Amenities – Despite being a so-called fine dining place, they didn’t have a single high chair for toddlers. When I politely asked a couple of times, the staff had no proper response and only showed arrogance. 3. Language Barrier – The staff communicated only in Hindi or another unfamiliar language. Even after requesting them to speak in Kannada or English, they didn’t acknowledge or make any effort to accommodate us. 4. Water Service – We were 6 people (including 3 kids), and when we asked for drinking water, only 4 glasses were provided. It was as if the rest of us didn’t matter. 5. Terrible Food – The farmhouse pizza we ordered was by far the worst we’ve ever had – overly chunky, bland, and tasteless. 6. Staff Behavior – The overall behavior of the staff throughout our visit was extremely disappointing. Arrogance and lack of hospitality were evident from the moment we walked in. We were truly expecting better from a brand like Kailash Parbat, but this visit left us deeply dissatisfied. Definitely not recommended, especially for families with kids.

The food was quite disappointing. Considering the price and the reputation of the hotel chain, you’d expect much better taste. We tried pizzas, spaghetti, and more, but the only item that had any flavor was the Punjabi Samosa. The dishes looked appealing, but the taste was terrible. Even the drinks were a letdown—the lassi, in particular, was the worst. Definitely avoid ordering any kind of lassi.

Whether you are visiting Coorg for adventure, leisure, or a short getaway, this is definitely a must-visit. A short time here will leave you refreshed and remind you why Coorg is called the “Scotland of India.”

Choci Coorg is a must-visit for chocolate enthusiasts in Coorg. This store offers a wide variety of handmade chocolates, including unique flavors like coffee and paan. Visitors can enjoy unlimited tastings before making a purchase, ensuring they find the perfect treat. While prices may be higher than other shops, the quality justifies the cost. Additionally, Food Banq market is worth exploring for local wines, spices, and food items to take home as souvenirs or gifts.
For a truly exceptional experience with homemade chocolates, this place is a must-visit. Be sure to ask for samples to taste the quality. Some standout options include the marble slab with almonds and fillings infused with coffee. Their specialty is dark chocolates, dark coffee beans which are particularly noteworthy. When purchasing, don't hesitate to ask for a discount, or opt to have your pack filled with extra grams for added value. Sales Person - Basheer.

My go to shop for buying the chocolates at Coorg. A must visit place to explore and experience the chocolate varieties. They have white milk chocolates and dark milk chocolates. The shop was clean and well maintained. The ambiance of the shop is great. The price is a little bit high compared with other shops but that quality and varieties of chocolates will compensate for that. My Favourites : Assorted Chocolate combination, Butterscotch chocolate, Coffee chocolate.

Wide verity of chocolate collections! There is a minimum 300 Gram purchase rule which will not benefit the customer end.

Extremely rude and unprofessional sellers. We asked for 250 gms each for 4 different varieties of chocolates. The selling guy at the counter said min 300 gms is allowed which was very strange. We agreed however and asked him to put 300 gms each in 4 different packets- the seller simply refused, saying you take it in 1 packet or leave it. The persons in the shop didn't seem to be locals and were extremely rude and cryptic in their responses when asked about chocolate details. We walked out frustrated and then bought from a nice shop further down the road which was being sold by a local person who was very friendly and co-operative.

Ainmane Café & Speciality Store is a charming family-run home-stay overlooking the lush valley and Madikeri town. The cozy rooms offer all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The café serves an array of delicious and healthy dishes, making it possible to indulge without guilt. In addition to delectable snacks and beverages, the café also offers an assortment of products such as coffee powders, chocolates, and spices for purchase.
I make it a point to visit this outlet every time I’m in Madikeri, and it never fails to surprise me with something new. I absolutely love their coffee powder, it’s rich in flavor and truly delightful. This time, I also picked up a coffee grinder, hot chocolate mix, and honey. They offer a wonderful variety of coffee powders, honey, and more, making it a must-visit place for coffee lovers. The staff is very helpful and courteous.

The coffee here is amazing! I'm not sure I'd recommend this place for food though. Also for tourists visiting, u need to note that this cafe is right in the market, so getting parking is quite difficult. But if you are keen to buy coffee blends, this place is worth it.

Had the opportunity to visit this Shop. The shop was clean and good. My friends ordered varities of coffee (Since am not a coffee person). The service was so good. Tasted an ice-cream, not sure of its name. But coffee with cream tasted delicious. Must try. Though we were taking too much of pics, they didn't say anything. Thanks for the service Ainmame Cafe.

Safest and good place to get coffee and spices and also drink coffee. They have a high quality collection of spices (the rates are similar to others, but quality is far better than all the tourist places and roadside vendors). Chocolates and honey is also.of Good quality. Pot honey is different and a must try. The coffees are exceptional. Esp you see after ordering they actually take fresh beans from the chosen blend and weigh and roast in front of you, and grind (the whole cafe fills up with the aroma of fresh coffee being made). They make coffee in all ways - as you wish. Their cold coffee - recommended blend is very very good, no added cream or ice cream, just pure fresh coffee. The south indian blend and monsoon malabar are quite nice but also strong. They're doing a sincere and a great job! One must do experience for Coorg.

Coffee taste is good , we can see multiple variety of coffee beans and can get fresh grind power whatever we choose.I found spices price little high. Can be better price. They should think selling pepper from coorg😞. And one bad i felt the girls who is available in store simple don't care about the customer ask, they just talking each other and not even bothering customer who is coming to buy products. We went to buy coffee powder for multiple relatives, but because of these girls dont care mindset and playing activities made us to leave the store soon. We got kgs of coffee powder and came back. Note: we ask for chocolate flavours and by seeing the display, they said the price and those girls somply eating chocolates and playing each other. In this scenario none of the customer will go for purchase. Try to improve the customer service and satisfaction. We are not asking for reduce the price we just asking to be in kind nature and mature attitude,😞 instead of eating chocolates and playing.

Big Cup Cafe is a charming and eco-friendly spot with a lovely terrace where you can enjoy thoughtfully selected coffee and classic cafe dishes. The cozy interior creates an inviting atmosphere, perfect for indulging in their unique jaggery-infused coffee. This cafe offers a break from traditional cuisine, providing a modern urban vibe with its stylish decor, including wood benches and a reading corner.
I genuinely love this place there’s just something about it that keeps me coming back. I’ve mostly visited with friends, and every time it’s been a great experience. The ambience is warm and cozy, perfect for a relaxed evening. The service is quick and the staff are super hospitable, always polite and attentive, which really adds to the experience. Now the food is the real star here. My absolute favourite is the butter grilled prawns they serve it with a mashed cauliflower side (I think?), and it’s incredibly tasty. The burger was also really good, served with crispy fries, and I also tried their thin-crust pizza which was light, flavourful, and delicious. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for great food, a nice vibe, and genuinely good service..

We had a lovely experience at Big Cup Cafe in Coorg. We tried the Aglio Olio Spaghetti, which was cooked to perfection — simple yet full of flavor. The Spazieta Pizza was equally delicious, with a perfectly baked crust and fresh toppings. To go with it, we had a Hazelnut Latte which was smooth and comforting. But the absolute highlight was the dessert — the Blueberry Cheesecake. It was rich, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Great food, cozy ambiance, and friendly service — highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice spot in Coorg.

The food here is good—we tried the burgers and sandwiches, along with their aesthetic coffee, which was amazing. Watching the entire coffee-making process was a nice touch. The barbecue chicken sandwich stood out with its flavorful filling. However, the olio pasta was a bit dry, though the taste was still decent. Overall, it’s a nice place to visit, with a cozy vibe and satisfying dishes. Perfect for a casual meal, especially if you’re a coffee lover. The combination of tasty bites and the experience of seeing your coffee crafted makes it worth a visit. Just that the service is slow

I visited this place recently with my family and it was a nice experience. I dropped by for lunch. This place is near to Marriot Coorg and Mont Rose. This place has stunning interiors—every corner is Instagram-worthy and adds to a lovely ambience. The food is equally impressive—flavorful, beautifully presented, and delicious. Every dish we ordered was tasty. We ordered Chefs special non veg pizza, fish fingers and garlic bread. Everything was amazing. And lastly the sizzling browny is also awesome and must try. The place has Baskin Robbin icecreams. They also freshly grind the coffee and the experience is awesome. It is located right next to highway so it’s not too quiet but ambience is nice. It will be difficult to find public transport to go back to center of town, better come with own vehicle or keep auto/cab on waiting. All in all, it’s worth a visit for the ambience and food, but be prepared for waiting on weekends.

While going to coorg, we have searched lot of options for cafe, this place was recommend by many travellers. Big cup cafe is nearby highway far away for madikeri main area ,it's in outskirts. But this cafe is heaven for coffee lovers. Omg this place is too too good. I loved it. You will get to know about coffee. It's spacious and sitting is soo amazing, peaceful and relaxing experience. Coffee was obviously on point. Pizza was stone oven based and the texture of pizza was too good and flavourful. Do try this cafe I would highly recommend for traveller you can actually relax grab coffee with good book. I loved the cafe. Amazing experience for sure.

Big cup cafe one in Coorg Madikeri serves delicious homemade pizzas, sandwiches, lasagna and freshly brewed varieties of coffees, Food is extremely delicious, presentation of the food and serving style is just bang on. Service staff found very professional and helpful. Ambience is just average, rainy season wind blows in side the restaurant. Even no smoking area is not divided, so you can literally smell strong smoke coming in side the dine in area. Since they’re very busy bathrooms are not maintained well enough, while entering the wash area there is a small puddle. Parking area is fewer!! Overall Big Cup is too good for the food and the hot coffee’s.

RAJA'S Tomb (Gadduge)

3.9
(5104)
Historical landmark
Park
Raja's Tomb in Madikeri is a historical site dating back to the 1800s, featuring three royal tombs with ornate entrances, surrounded by beautiful gardens and offering panoramic views of the city. This attraction is part of the must-visit places in Madikeri, along with other landmarks like Rajas Seat, Madikeri Fort, Omkareshwara Temple, Abbey waterfall, and Government Museum.
I visited Raja’s Tomb (Gaddige) in Madikeri last week, and it was honestly a great experience. The place is so peaceful, especially during the morning and evening, when the whole place feels calm and beautiful. The entry fee is just ₹10, which is very reasonable, and you instantly get a sense of the place’s charm once you step inside. The tombs are well-maintained, and the surroundings are clean and green, making it a nice place to relax and reflect. There are plenty of flowering plants and well-trimmed lawns that add to the peaceful atmosphere. I especially loved how quiet and calm it was. It’s a spot where you can just sit and enjoy the vibe, away from the usual hustle of tourist spots. The architecture is pretty impressive – it’s built in an Indo-Islamic style, which is a mix of Hindu and Muslim influences. The main tomb is that of King Doddaveer Rajendra, who ruled Coorg, along with the tombs of his family members. There are some beautiful carvings on the domes, and the structures themselves look elegant, with a peaceful feel to them. It’s fascinating to see a Hindu king and his family being buried in tombs that resemble Islamic-style mausoleums. The history behind it is interesting too. Coorg was once ruled by the Haleri dynasty, and King Doddaveer Rajendra was a prominent figure. He made Madikeri his capital and played a key role in the kingdom’s administration. The tombs are a testament to the royal family’s significant influence on the region. It’s a nice spot to learn a bit about Coorg’s royal history while enjoying the natural beauty around. I went during the evening, and the view of the hills from the tomb was stunning. The sunset made the whole place even more beautiful, with the golden light hitting the tombs and the surrounding greenery. It’s the perfect place to click some photos or just take a peaceful walk around the garden. What I really appreciated was how well-maintained the tombs and garden were. It’s clear that they put effort into keeping the place clean and neat. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has done a good job preserving it. However, it’s not a heavily commercialized spot, so there are no food stalls or much to buy inside, but there are benches to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Overall, my visit to Raja’s Tomb was a memorable and relaxing experience. It’s not crowded like other touristy spots in Coorg, which adds to its charm. If you’re ever in Madikeri, I highly recommend visiting. It’s a perfect place to spend some quiet time, learn a bit about Coorg’s history, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

incredibly tranquil location. A small group of people. Three structures. There's hardly much to see inside. However, those who enjoy photography and architecture can examine the designs and structures. Additionally, try your hand at photography. The entire process takes no more than half an hour.

Decent location to roam. 3 buildings are present where only one is open. Remaining two are closed and not for public. Lush greenary and good for walking and clicking pictures. 10rs per head ticket needs to be brought. Parking is present outside, however you might not find space if you have too much crowd and you have to part 100-200 meters in the other side road.

Raja's Tomb (Gaddige) - Beautiful Spot, Zero Parking Raja's Tomb is a serene and historically significant site. The architecture is grand, and the tombs themselves are beautifully maintained, set within a very peaceful garden environment. It offers a unique window into the history of Kodagu and is definitely worth visiting for the calm atmosphere and photo opportunities. The only real downside is the complete lack of dedicated parking. Be prepared to park a considerable distance away, likely on the side of a narrow road, and walk up to the site. This can be challenging for those with mobility issues or when visiting during peak hours. Despite the parking hassle, the beauty and historical significance of the spot make it a highly recommended visit.
Dhruv D — Google review
Visited Raja’s Tomb during our trip to Coorg in June, on a weekend. The place has a quiet, slightly eerie charm. The historical structures are well-maintained on the inside, though the exteriors could use some upkeep. The garden layout is beautiful, but overgrown with weeds in some areas and would benefit from better maintenance. The property is spacious, with three main structures at the center surrounded by a large garden. However, only one of the tombs is accessible, two are sealed, so the visit is fairly quick, taking about 10 minutes to walk around. There’s a small entry fee of Rs. 10 per person. No designated parking is available, but you can park on the nearby street without any trouble. A brief yet interesting stop for those exploring Coorg.

Everything we ordered was delicious and fantastic! Totally loved the food here. It was served hot and fresh. The naans were soft, the curries were mild and flavourful. Keep it up kitchen team! Bit crowded place, although there are very few veg options in madekeri City, and this is one of them. We had veg biryani, which cost Rs 230 per plate and plain dosa. Price of every other dish is genuine.

The food was very delicious. I had Poori Bhaji and Idli here. Both the items were fresh and super tasty. Highly recommended if you are looking for some Veg South Indian options. They also serve amazing filter coffee.

During our Coorg visit 3 days we ate here only. The food was good, tasty, high quantity and affordable. In the morning we tried a variety of dosa. Open butter masala dosa and Mysore masala dosa were excellent. At night we tried soup, Manchurian, noodles and naan, roti, panner and tikka masala all r good.

Good not bad! 90 rupees for only 3 poori.

Dine in was good. Too crowded on weekends. Took us more than half an hour to get a table. They said the dosa counter was closing by the time we were seated. We had to order North Indian and chat items. Won't say the dishes were great. Pav bhaji was ok.

Kimberly Coorg is a cafe located near Rajas seat in Coorg. The ambience of the cafe is praised by visitors, with a double-height seating area offering a view of the city side of the hill-top. While some found the atmosphere average and suggested adding music to lower noise levels, others fell in love with the ambience and quality of coffee. The cafe offers a variety of coffee and quick snack bites, making it a good place to hang out with kids.
Good ambience. Nice food choice. Cute owner(the cashier). Would have definitely asked her out for a date if I was from Madikeri. Will definitely visit again to try other dishes.

Lovely ambience, tasty food, and pocket friendly prices! The service was top-notch—special thanks to intern Nidhi for taking such great care of us. Highly recommend! (The fries were served in a full plate, so good that I ate half before realizing I forgot to take a picture! 😬

We stopped by this cute little cafe near Raja Seat Garden. The Hot Chocolate and Brownie were decent, and the service was good. It was a pleasant stop overall.
Arun C — Google review
Good cafe but not like how the reviews tell. It’s hyped and overpriced. Large size pizza has 4 pieces (see the image). Within a minute of ordering we wanted to cancel an item but they said once an order is sent to kitchen it can’t be cancelled. And after that we heard the kitchen guy confirming the order quantity. Also after I showed the payment done by UPI the receptionist kept looking at my phone and for a long time and kept asking if I am sure that I paid. The aquarium bowls kept have not been cleaned for a long time and have dead fishes. Toilet was closed to the sitting area and kitchen and isn’t clean. Not sure how this cafe got 4.8 star rating.
Pankaj B — Google review
It seems that this place is unnecessarily overhyped! We drove around 10 km to have brunch, but they did not have juices or smoothies, and the passion fruit mocktail that they give was only soda with a few seeds of passionfruit and no flavour of the fruit. The pizza that they gave was so blunt with no great flavours or preparation . I was really hoping to get better food. :(

One of the best food places in coorg. From the pasta to the pizzas to paneer dishes everything is crafted so well. The pricing is soo good! The place has a calm vibe with a nice view! You also have options of buying wine and coffee (local made )

Kimberly Coorg is a beautiful cafe situated near to Raja Seat. It is very warm, cozy with beautiful view outside... Food is just amazing, I so loved it that I forgot to click it's pictures... Good Service and supportive staff... I tried Mix sauce pasta, Pesto pasta, Veg overload pizza, french fries, mix veg sandwich, onion bhajias (as it was raining), hot chocolate, hot fudge, strawberry milk shake, tea... Everything was just so delicious... Highly recommend this cafe. Must must must try it once. Thank you team Kimberly cafe and keep up the good work.

We went there in the long weekend in starting of May 2018 which was quite busy weekend as it was long weekend so room was available which was decently good. How about the owner was charging 1500 but we got a budget room just besides it in hotel Chitra where parking was also available and veg restaurant is there just decided hands free to come over there. Entry to this hotel is a little bit hidden inside the market hence you have to carefully looked or ask local shopkeepers and room has western toilet and is decent enough for a normal night stay if you are not looking for something hi fi
Amanpreet S — Google review
The place is so bad, I had to return in one night. No curtains, the fan regulator doesn't work, There is no hot water in the bathrooms. No restaurant in the hotel. No room service. TV doesn't work. Probably the worst utilisation of space. Extremely shady receptionist. They charge Rs.25 for a Rs.19 standard 1 ltr Bisleri bottle. Non AC room worth Rs. 900 was not worth it at all.
Murtaza S — Google review
It would be okay for bachelors but not apt for family stay. Hot water is not properly working in the room we stayed. Smoking smells all around. Not a 12 - 12 checkin/out time which is a positive. Very close to bus stand.
Gowdham T — Google review
Quite good room for solo who comes, even for couples also but depends on their comfort. Who received me the person was friendly , hot water was available any time . Rooms was clean and maintained,
Rakshith K — Google review
The only reason the are charging 1000+ INR is because of the location. No free parking is available. Hot water has to be requested if you need the same. It comes in tap but the heater connection is centrally controlled. Sleep quality at night is pathetic because of constant disturbances on main road. Bes linen is old. Staff also needs to get trained in basic curtsey and customer service aspects of hospitality.
Atul S — Google review
Other than behavior of staff nothing was good here. During booking it says AC rooms available and hotel outside has big board which says AC and non AC room available.. But hotel doesn't have any AC room. For non AC room with all wiring visible cost is not justified. We were lucky that temperature was pleasant during night so we have survived otherwise our holiday would have spoiled. And finally it doesn't accept card payment. So make sure to bring sufficient cash if you are going there.

The hotel has budget accommodation, Worth for Money. Hot water available. Located at the centre of the town and all essentials are available around the place. But all shops are closed early by ~9:30 PM. Parking available. Family friendly, helpful front desk staff.

Hotel Coorg Empire is a popular restaurant in Coorg known for its traditional, North Indian, and Chinese cuisine. Visitors praise the friendly staff and delicious, well-cooked food. Some recommend trying the Ghee Roast Dosa while others enjoyed dishes like parathas, paneer butter masala, and Gobi Manchurian. While some feel that the service could be improved, others appreciate the hospitality of the shopkeeper when purchasing wine and chocolates.

Food taste was nice. But the service should be improved more. They let us ask for a dish 2 3 times. My friends are purchased wine and chocolates from there. Shop keeper was a nice and customer friendly guy. Over all nice.

Decent place for food, bit pricey. Quantity was very less for kebabs ordered. The store outside the hotel is great if you want to buy chocolates, dried fruits, wines, etc. They give you plenty of freebies to taste before buying. Stickers, fridge magnets also available.

Waterfalls
Abbey Falls is one of the star attractions in Coorg, known for its stunning silver cascade that plunges about 70 feet below. The journey to the falls takes you through picturesque coffee plantations, setting the stage for the breathtaking sight that awaits. Visitors can also explore other nearby attractions such as Mallalli Falls and Iruppu Falls. For animal enthusiasts, a visit to Dubare Elephant Camp is a must-do experience where trained elephants can be observed and even bathed by visitors.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Abbey Falls in Kodagu (Coorg) is one of those places that truly makes the long walk worth it! To reach the falls, you drive 🚗 through narrow winding roads surrounded by greenery and coffee plantations. There’s a parking area from where you continue on foot — a short but steep walk down with many stairs 🪜. The descent feels refreshing, with the sound of birds and the distant rush of water 💧. At the bottom, the sight of Abbey Falls is mesmerizing 🤩. The waterfall gushes powerfully, and even though there’s often a crowd, the mist and roar of water give you your own peaceful moment. Standing near the railing, feeling the cool spray, is instantly rejuvenating. The atmosphere is cool and calming 🌿, especially in monsoon season, making this a perfect nature escape. Wear comfortable shoes for the staircase climb — every step is worth that stunning view.
Anee K — Google review
Abbey Falls in Coorg is absolutely worth the visit! 🌿 You drive through scenic coffee plantations and then walk down a short, steep path with many steps. The sound of water and fresh air make the walk refreshing. 💧 The falls are powerful and mesmerizing, and the cool mist feels amazing. It can get a bit crowded, but the atmosphere is calm and peaceful. Wear comfortable shoes — the climb is steep, but the view is totally worth it! 🤩 Parking is plenty.

I think, it is most the famous waterfall of Coorg. it is located about 8 km from North of Madikeri town in Coorg, is one of the most enchanting waterfalls in Karnataka. Surrounded by lush coffee and spice plantations, the falls offer a refreshing escape into nature’s serenity. The water cascades down from a height of around 70 feet, creating a mesmerizing misty view, especially during the monsoon. Visitors can reach the falls through a short walk along a scenic trail filled with the aroma of coffee and cardamom. The hanging bridge was closed while I visited the falls. it was offers the best view for photography and sightseeing. Visitor Information: Timings: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Entry Fee: Around ₹20 per person Best Time to Visit: July to October for lush greenery and full water flow Facilities: Small parking area, refreshment stalls near the entrance, and restrooms available Tips: Avoid visiting during heavy rains as the paths can get slippery. Early mornings are less crowded for peaceful exploration. Overall, Abbey Falls is a must-visit for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone seeking a peaceful escape amidst Coorg’s misty charm.
Devendra C — Google review
Abbey Falls is one of those spots in Coorg that truly captures the essence of nature’s raw beauty. The waterfall is surrounded by dense coffee and spice plantations, and the walk down to the viewpoint is short but scenic. You can hear the roar of the water long before you see it, and when you finally do — it’s a breathtaking sight, especially during or just after the monsoon season. That said, the area around the falls is fenced off for safety, so you can’t get too close to the water. It’s more of a viewpoint experience than an immersive one. The place can get a bit crowded during weekends and holidays, so early morning visits are the best for a peaceful vibe. There’s a small parking area and some local stalls for snacks and coffee. Overall, Abbey Falls is worth a quick stop — not an all-day destination, but definitely a refreshing and photogenic spot to include in your Coorg itinerary.

A Breathtaking Natural Gem! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Abbi Waterfall is an absolute must-visit and truly deserves five stars! The location feels like a magical, hidden gem, easily accessible yet completely peaceful. The short walk through the surrounding greenery is refreshing and the air is clean and cool. When you reach the falls, the view is simply breathtaking—the water cascades down with impressive force into a beautiful, clear pool. It's a perfect spot for photography, nature observation, or simply relaxing by the water and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. It’s well-maintained, clean, and provides a truly immersive escape from daily life. Highly recommend planning a visit to recharge and enjoy the stunning natural beauty!
Dhruv D — Google review
It's good waterfall only to watch. We cannot take bath as its restricted. Situated in the green coffee estate center area and other side forest. The scenic beauty is good to watch in Sep to December months. Later the flow will be reducing. Can take the ticket there itself after parking vehicle nearby. 750m walk to falls from main road. It may be difficult for the people with knee pains and elders as some area steps climbing is required.
Nidhin N — Google review
Beautiful place, you feel very near to nature. Thanks and kudos to the authorities who are working tirelessly to keep the area clean of litter. Visitors are requested to use dustbins since the are is secluded and far from civilization.

Abbey Falls in Coorg is truly a must-visit spot if you’re in Karnataka! 🌿✨ I recently visited and the experience was absolutely refreshing. The drive through lush greenery and coffee plantations itself sets the mood, and once you reach, the sound of the roaring waterfall instantly lifts your spirits. The view of the falls cascading down amidst dense forest is breathtaking and worth every step of the short trek down. The area is well maintained with pathways and railings, so it feels safe to explore even when the flow is strong. During my visit, the waterfall was in full force and the sheer power of the water was mesmerizing. The cool mist from the falls hits your face, making it a perfect natural refreshment after the walk. It’s also a great spot for photos – the backdrop of the waterfall and greenery makes every shot look stunning. I went with friends, and we all felt it was a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Just standing there, watching the water rush down, makes you forget all your worries. I’d recommend visiting during or just after the monsoon when the falls are at their best. Definitely one of the highlights of Coorg – peaceful, scenic, and memorable! 🌊🍃

Parking place is available during weekdays, but during weekends this may be overcrowded. Rope way exit also is found here. Very nice water falls. It's small but surrounded by green forest and coffee plantation. An entry fee of ₹20 and parking fees of ₹50 to be paid in main gate for 4 wheeler. Be prepared for a bit of walking on the steps to reach the location, the pathway is having coffee plantation on both sides and is very beautiful for photos. There's usually a normal amount of crowd in weekdays, making it a peaceful and enjoy the natural beauty. Not recommended to visit on weekends and public holidays as all types of VBlogs and huge crowds will be found here.

You can enjoy the falls from far don't expect to play as water force is high worth spending some time Ticket price 10Rs / parking 20rs 2 or 4 wheeler same. You can have some snacks around with restroom available. Zip line is available you can try too.🙂

On my way to Abbey falls we parked our car here 40 is the parking cost there are also pay and use washroom ahead they are ok but no lights 😀 everything shuts down at 5pm as the entrance to the falls is closed at that time. We also njoyed a lovely Maggie by the small food joint there fr INR 60 but it was fun to have Maggie with great weather as it started to drizzle. Travellers should avoid throwing plastics and other waste on the roads instead of the dustbins making such places more of PLASTIC GARBAGE then tourist attractions. SAD TO SEE HOW CARELESS WE GET & THROW THINGS WHN EE ARE TRAVELLING BUT WINT DO THE SAME AT HOME...GUYS PLZ DONT THROW GARBAGE AROUND.

Parking space for cars and bikes. Ample amount of space available. On weekends it may get crowded. Visited during a weekday morning and the place was almost empty. They charge Rs. 40 for cars. There is a rate chart maintained at the place. The gated walk to the falls starts from near the parking, there is a gate.
Sukalyan N — Google review
horrendous traffic on weekends and holidays (atleast a thousand+ cars and buses and bikers and notorious extorting autorikshas) terribly ill-managed throughfare and parking traffic regulations non-existant all this leads to an otherwise terrific view of the actual waterfall... it is a roaring, thundering maddeningly powerful force in motion...

Coorg Spices Mall

Spice wholesaler
Coorg Spices Mall offers a wide range of shopping options, including authentic and organic Indian spices. The mall also features a variety of chocolate options, making it a kid-friendly place where children can enjoy tasting the different products for sale. Additionally, visitors can find a good selection of homemade wines at the mall. With its focus on quality items such as chocolates and coffee powder, Coorg Spices Mall provides an enjoyable shopping experience for all.
So many options for shopping. If you're a fan of Indian spices, you can get some really authentic and organic options here. Loved the chocolate options available here; kid friendly place - my kids kept tasting most of all the options available for sale here. They even had good homemade wine selection here.

We bought 6 boxes of chocolates as souvenirs of our trip from this shop. Worst purchase ever. The chocolates taste like trash. They have added coffee bean waste into the dark chocolate to make it taste bitter 🤢. I don't know about other products but if you want to buy chocolates stay miles away from this place. We have given four of the boxes to our relatives and can't even imagine what they might be thinking of these. PS adding the picture of one of the boxes as proof.

🔴Don't go to this shop🖐🙏🙏🙏, they are froad, charging high very price for waste products, they wll show you something and wll give you something else, My honest review for the benefit of people 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 You Can't directly call them even, the no. Given wll accept only voice mail.
D'LOCAL V — Google review
This is the worst place you can buy anything. They adulterate everything. They mix the worst cheap spices with good spices and give you for the price of the best spices. For example, you'll see that only 30% of the best quality cardamom from them are really green while others are very light. If you go to better shops, you'll see that the lighter ones are also not that light, just different shades of very similar green. Then, they'll give you one type of coffee to smell and taste and give you really bad coffee when you purchase. You'll puke drinking that coffee. Their chocolates don't taste like chocolates at all and their small bee honey doesn't taste like good quality small bee honey. All in all, I was looted at this store and caution you to stay away. If you notice, all those who have given good rating are local guides. The shop will not mess with local folks. But with tourists, they cheat to no end, as you see from non-local reviewers.
Mukkish1 — Google review
I was in Coorg last 3 days and visited the Coorg Spices Mall. Worst shop ever. Cheated us fully. The Almond Cardamom Scrub had a sticker of Rs.480 on it but when I found the absolute same product at another shop and there it was sold for Rs.180. Even the spices he shows you 3 or 4 varieties and you get confused and go for the best one which is of a higher price and then you find you paid a much higher price compared to other shops. They are nothing but cheats. I had no time otherwise would have gone back to the shop to fight for my refund. Do not visit this store if you ever visit Coorg.

1. Went there on recommendation from Savari cab owner - Harshvardhan whose native place is coorg but looks like these guys have some commision thing in between. 2. Very costly items. Half of the items didn't have price tag and owner charged whatever he wished but we were kinda hoping quality would be good. 3. We bought 750gm best coffee and we clearly said we don't need filter coffee. When we tried that at home, it was a filter coffee. According to him, This is how non filter coffee of Coorg looks like. He then agreed to give us refund on gpay but we never got it. He is not picking phone now. 4. We bought items for 6500 around but looks like he cheated on almost all items. Please read Google reviews before going to any tourist shops.

The shop opposite to this one was charging double the cost of this one. They have factory outlet, original Coorg KSIC and also other marketing items but they were so costly. This shop on the other hand was very affordable and believe they are of same quality if not higher. This shop doesn't have a car park while the other one has.

Spices are genuine. Don't buy chocolates and especially dark chocolates as they are not at all Dark. They are just regular chocolates. One stop shop for spices, herbs, natural home made by products and Home made wine(Not recommended) Bit interior, Parking should not be a problem.

Gowri Nivas

Homestay
Gowri Nivas is a tranquil guesthouse situated in the heart of the city. Upon entering the property, guests are transported to a different world. Surrounded by bustling markets and restaurants, it offers convenient access to shopping and dining options. The accommodations are reminiscent of traditional village houses with a charming heritage aesthetic. Impeccably maintained, the rooms exude cleanliness and comfort. The well-appointed restrooms further enhance the experience.
Very good place within city but far away from all noise. Host and service is superb. She helped with itenary also and she was always available on chat/call for any request. Enjoyed the stay very much. Another good thing is attractions like raja seat, madikeri fort and omkareshwar temple are around/under 1.5km. Raja seat is infact around 400m. Also bus stand is walkable distance away and we took jeep for mandalpatti from there only. Nice restaurants like paakshala is also in walkable distance. Other places also not so far max 10-15 min ride. Will suggest this place to all.

A Perfect Homestay Experience in Coorg! 🌿 I recently stayed at Gowri Niwas in Coorg, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The property is beautifully maintained and gives a true homely vibe with a touch of traditional Coorg culture. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, going out of their way to make sure we felt at home. They even shared interesting stories about Coorg and suggested great local spots to visit. The food was simply amazing—authentic Coorgi dishes prepared with so much love. Every meal felt like a treat! The location is perfect too—peaceful, green surroundings yet close to major attractions in Madikeri. Waking up to the sound of birds and sipping coffee in the serene garden was pure bliss. Overall, Gowri Niwas is the perfect blend of comfort, tradition, and hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the true charm of Coorg. I would definitely love to come back!

We Loved our stay at Gowri Nivas! It’s right in the middle of Madikeri town but still feels calm, green, and away from the hustle and bustle. The place has a lovely nature-friendly vibe. A big thanks to Muthu, our wonderful hostess — she helped us plan our sightseeing around Madikeri and even suggested great dining spots. The rooms were cosy with a nice rustic charm, had Wi-Fi, 24-hour hot water, plenty of charging points, and everything we needed. There are two bedrooms with attached baths, a sit-out facing a beautiful garden, and ample parking space. Breakfast was homely and tasty too. Overall, a perfect mix of comfort, greenery, and warm hospitality. Highly recommend Gowri Nivas to anyone looking for a peaceful homestay in Madikeri

Located within town limits but in a quiet zone. Property has limited cottages spread in a dense garden space offering privacy. The cottages have a small porch outside where food is served. Room interiors are basic but have old time charm. Clean bed sheets n towels and neat rooms. Breakfast was complimentary with our stay and had a decent menu . Good portion to get you started for the day. Overall a very comfortable and well maintained place to stay.

Very beautifully maintained property. Extremely friendly, helpful and thoughtful host. Truly a homestay where we were made absolutely comfortable. Really appreciate their attention to details in setting up tables for breakfast and dinner. Kids loved the place very much. Special mention to the support staff and their pet who made our stay extra special.

Highly recommended! Muthu is one of the warmest host, she listened and catered to all our requirements. The ethnic breakfast she served every morning was amazing! Madikeri Spices in Coorg is renowned for its high-quality organic farming and products. Known as the Queen of spices, this shop offers a wide variety of pleasant fragrances and tastes. Customers appreciate the reasonable prices, friendly owners, and helpful service when choosing from the diverse selection of spices available. The shop also provides courier services for those who want to purchase their products from outside Madikeri.
Yesterday myself, my wife and friends had been to do shopping of spices at Madikere spices. Found to be very good and arrangements in the shelf are really superb. Well behaved owners Abdulla & his wife. Reasonably priced. Good quality products. Enjoyed shopping. All the best.
Lakshminarayanan R — Google review
While in Madikeri, I wanted to buy spices from the actual market from where locals buy the spices. I found this place through Google. It is located in the by-lanes of the main market. They had good quality spices at wholesale rate. The lady in the shop was friendly and adviced which quality to buy, etc. I bought a whole lot for making a kala masala that we Maharashtrians use for daily cooking. I will recommend this place for spices instead of buying them at tourist places and getting cheated for quality.

Bought many spices, this shop was referred to by my sister. Indeed, the quality of spices is par excellence and the prices are reasonable as compared to other shops in the market. Very happy and satisfied with the purchase. Would certainly recommend the tourists to visit this shop. Moreover, they courier the products all over lndia.

Owner of the shop is very soft spoken and the homemade filter coffee powder he sells is superb in taste. Even the spices are well priced and of good quality. Fairly priced products as compared to shops on the main market road.

Nature & Parks
Mountains
Kote Betta is a lofty forested mountain ideal for hiking, with expert-led treks and sweeping valley vistas from its summit. Although the ascent can be challenging, bicycles can be ridden to the base of this picturesque peak. This location offers a stunning sunset experience with breathtaking panoramic views. A temple devoted to Lord Shiva is situated atop the mountain; however, due to COVID-19 precautions, it remains closed.
A Monsoon Gem in the Western Ghats, Visiting Kote Betta during the monsoon is a magical experience. The lush greenery, mist-covered hills, and the sound of waterfalls all around create a serene, almost mystical atmosphere. The trek is moderately challenging, but the cool weather and occasional drizzle make it quite pleasant. The trail becomes slippery in parts, so good trekking shoes are a must. Once at the summit, you're rewarded with breathtaking views of the Coorg valley, often wrapped in clouds. It’s less crowded than some of the other Coorg trekking spots, which adds to the charm. Just be prepared for leeches and unpredictable rain – carry salt, a poncho, and waterproof bags. If you love nature and don’t mind getting a little muddy, Kote Betta in the monsoon is absolutely worth it.
Samapth L — Google review
The ride is rough. But once you reach the point, it’s breathtaking. The rock mountain is huge and if you like to thrill, you can climb up top as well.

Kotte Betta is an unforgettable experience! 🏞️ We went by bike and the off-roading trail was absolutely thrilling. The ride through the scenic hills surrounded by greenery was adventurous and fun, and the view from the top is simply breathtaking. A must-visit for trekking and adventure lovers in Coorg! 🏍️🌿

The trail is moderate and enjoyable, surrounded by greenery all along. The peak offers a peaceful atmosphere and a great view for photography. A must-visit for nature and trekking lovers

Kote Betta - A Journey for the Soul (and the Adventurous Driver) Kote Betta is a unique destination that rewards visitors with both spiritual solace and breathtaking natural beauty. Perched atop [Name of Hill], the temple offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The feeling of being so close to nature is truly invigorating, with crisp, clean air and a sense of tranquility that's hard to find elsewhere. The temple "simple and serene," adding to the overall sense of peace. IMP Note: Teple will be open only on Tuesday's and women are not allowed inside the temple permisses. However, getting to this idyllic spot is not for the faint of heart. The road leading up to the temple is extremely challenging. It's very narrow, with steep inclines and sharp turns that require careful maneuvering. Drivers need to be experienced and confident in their abilities to navigate such conditions. While the challenging drive may deter some, for others, it's part of the adventure and makes the destination even more rewarding. Here's a quick summary: Pros: Beautiful location with stunning views Close to nature, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere Its not crowded Cons: Extremely difficult road access Narrow roads and steep climbs Overall, Kote Betta is a worthwhile destination for those seeking a spiritual experience in a stunning natural setting. However, be prepared for a challenging drive.
Jagadish G — Google review
Beautiful place experience with lush, vibrant landscapes and cooler temperatures. The rain brings out vivid greenery and cascading nearby waterfalls. It's a refreshing adventure.

Instead of Mandalpati ppl can visit this location for the same view, and view origin of surlabhi falls. It's better to park ur cars 300 meter away from the temple as the local resort ppl have destroy the road for the sake of off road feel for their customers. View can cover the rally of mountains with moving clouds and birds creeping. Not liter the place and don't carry any kind of plastic. Any is no entry fee, and parking fee.

Their burger is amazing. It is crispy, juicy, buttery and perfect. A small shack like structure they have which they have decorated beautifully. When we had gone there it was raining, making the place all the more beautiful. They don’t have much of a menu but their food is good. We also tried their French fries and cheese shots. I didn’t like the cheese shot too much but the fries were good. You can also ask for a serving of a glass of birds eye chilli wine. It is non alcoholic so you can drink it and drive!

Lovely home-made food. We had egg curry and akki roti. The food was lovely and homely. We also had a veg curry and akki roti there, which was again awesome. Vicky bro is the owner and also takes to some off beat coorg trips. We enjoyed the personal tour with him alot.

Found this one of a kind off beat cafe during my trip in coorg , the aesthetics of the cafe were damm good , cafe is over a hillside with a surreal view on the other side Coming to the food , the chicken burger was rich with flavour n taste, ,it was juicy n crispy at the same time, , the fries were too crispy with right amount of spiciness, In addition to that the milkshakes too were great , the cranberry one tasted like heaven, , in addition to those they offer a local soft drink 'sun spot' , which comes in variety of flavour, n my opinion is coke will shy away infront of this drink The owner manish there knows his stuff n makes all the food items from scratch, , they also sell these wide variety of home made non alcoholic vines n wild honey , Heard they sell custom made cakes n cup cakes, sadly didnt get to taste those The cafe also offers some off beat adventure tours too The owner took us to a private waterfall, n later to a river bank which was not at all crowded n only localities knew Overall experience was heaven like, coorg tender cafe is a must visit in coorg

North Indian restaurant
Zaffron is a north indian restaurant located in Madikeri. It offers a wide variety of Indian, Chinese and Continental dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant's staff is well-trained with great chefs which makes all the difference. The food is delicious, especially their angara kumb dish.
• Cuisine: A true multi‑cuisine spread—Indian (north and Coorgi specialties), Chinese, Continental, Italian, and more. • Meal Service: Breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, with vegan and vegetarian options. • Ambience: Warm, casual fine‑dining décor inside Hotel Le Coorg, with well‑spaced seating and large windows overlooking the surrounding hills. Staff are friendly, though service can sometimes be a bit leisurely.

We were here at about 3:30pm and they had most of the food available unlike other place in and around here. We ordered for a chicken fried rice and chicken Manchurian, fried rice was filled with chicken, egg and veggies while the manchurian had multiple pieces it was tasting good too. Ambiance of this place is good too and family can dine in too.

The food is awesome. We ordered the Chicken Biriyan, Veg Biriyani & Pepper chicken dry. Its was very delicious. Though one thing that the restaurant needs to view very seriously is the rest rooms availability. Well neat and clean rest rooms available here and we were actually the first customers. Thank you . . . .

🍱😡 food was bad - the taste of all the dishes we ordered were completely different to what it should actually be. Andra chilli chicken was with palak etc !!! Biryani was like spicy tomato rice. 🍽️😡 Cleanliness was bad. There were foods spilled all over, when asked to clean, they just put a tissue and took it off. No cleaning with any wet material 💰🙂 Food was cheap when compared to the resorts nearby - but obviously not worth it ⌛😐 Took a lot of time for even pulka 👨‍💼😐 They did nothing. No hospitality - find a table yourself, ask to clean it, ask menu card, keep calling them for everything you need YOURSELF. 🚗🙂 Car park for few available in the front 🚻😊 Restrooms were good 📍😊 On the main road - but don't go

On the go found the place, informed them about the outdated menu & pricing hence updating new menu. Fish was very good but pricy for the place n location 1 pc for 350 + taxes and egg curry was total waste with burnt roti. Even the egg fried rice was not to the mark. I wouldn’t go again.. Secondly family place found men drinking liquor too. Not healthy with kids

Kerala parota was very good and the rest were not really great. Extreme slow serving. Extreme slow. Prices are extremely high no justification to price , taste ,quantity and ambience. This is almost a bar not a family restaurant coz there was a liquor table allocated inside this family restaurant. No good car parking space. Don't expect a good washroom here. Instead of this restaurant, drive little forward for Udupi hotels since udupi's food taste is always minimum guaranteed

Unless you have plenty of time and money to waste avoid this place. It takes an hour to give take away of just a simple two dish order and the food then turns out to be more pathetic. This is my second experience!! And now I'm sure it's not a rush hour one time mistake.

Wine store
Kadamba Wine Palace in Madikeri is a fantastic spot for those seeking a solid selection of beverages. This wine shop stands out as one of the better options in town, especially if you're on the hunt for quality spirits. While they boast an impressive variety of vodkas, their white rum choices are somewhat limited. The prices here are quite competitive, particularly since they offer wholesale rates on wine bottles—making it an excellent choice for stocking up for family gatherings or celebrations.
Get good collection in Madikeri.. surely better option in town if you're looking for a decent place to purchase ..
