Shopping mall
Nestled along the picturesque banks of the River Weser, Waterfront is a vibrant retail and entertainment hub that promises an enjoyable day out for everyone. This breezy shopping complex boasts over 120 stores featuring both popular international brands and local favorites, catering to all your fashion, tech, and household needs. Beyond shopping, visitors can indulge in a delightful dining experience at various eateries or catch the latest blockbuster at the largest cinema around.
Tram + bus stop very nearby and this is perfect place for shopping, they give many discounts also. I was only disappointed by one thing - germany should encourage online payment, upi payments should be there. I forgot my card at home otherwise i will purchage more.
Rohit S — Google review
The shopping center is located in the central part of Bremen… The parking place is free 🅿️ for as long as you can park. The shopping center has a paid toilet for 20 cents you’re allowed to use the toilets. There massages seats on the corridor for 20 cents you can get a massage. There are plenty of shops Primark, Tommy Hilfiger, TK Maxx and etc. If you looking for a shopping center while in Bremen then this may be the place for you.
Stone M — Google review
Large shopping mall with main brands incl. Primark, H&M, Starbucks and many other. Underground and surface parking - easy to follow. Never understood German policy to have toilets for extra charge in shopping malls. Wifi very poor. Nothing really special. Many places abandoned without tenants
Justas G — Google review
Worst shopping center ever! This place is absolutely terrible. The moment you step inside, your phone turns into a brick — no signal, no data, nothing. It’s like they’ve deliberately disabled the network so you can’t even make a call or use the internet. To make things worse, not a single coffee bar or restaurant will share their Wi-Fi password. Every place I asked just said “no Wi-Fi” or ignored me completely. How are people supposed to sit, relax, or get any work done? It’s 2025 — who runs a shopping center like this? Total nonsense. I wouldn’t waste another minute or a cent here.
Erman M — Google review
This shopping mall houses a variety of famous brands and also the largest cinema and bounce house I ever know. Definitely bring your kids for a day of fun and shopping, and dine at the wide selection of restaurants as well. Ample parking and the tram+bus stops nearby, reaching here is convenient. Another recommended is the park at the rear where you can visit best at sunset. A backdrop of lighthouse, windmills and the calm waters will definitely get you a instagram worthy pic.

I went to Elbenwald to buy gifts for my adult children who are fans of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. What an amazing experience it was. The lady there was very helpful. It is a shop that you can get lost in!!! Amazing!!!!
Brenda H — Google review
Large shopping mall with more or less the same big retailers as you see everywhere. It's on the site where once the famous AG Weser yard was where for 140 years ships were built. That yard was closed in 1983 and is now covered under concrete. This concrete slab in front of the mall is huge. There are some restaurants, a cinema and small children's playgrounds around
Seimen B — Google review
This mall has a huge variety of shops, from DM to Müller , from TK Max to Primark passing by the most known clothes franchises. You can also find there pop out expositions and a very different offer of restaurants. Free parking and tram stop really near of the premises. You can find there also really good bargains and original stuff that I didn't find anywhere else in the city.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Town Musicians of Bremen is a famous bronze statue in Bremen, Germany, depicting the donkey, dog, cat, and rooster from the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale. Created by artist Gerhard Marcks in 1953, it represents the popular German folktale about four animals seeking a new life as town musicians. The statue has become an iconic landmark in Bremen and attracts many visitors.
As someone who loves history and architecture, Bremen completely captivated me. It’s easily the most beautiful city I’ve ever visited. Walking through the city centre felt like stepping into a storybook; every corner seemed to tell a tale of its rich past, with stunning historical buildings and intricate architectural details. The famous Town Hall and Roland Statue are mesmerizing landmarks, and the cobblestone streets add to the city's charm. The Christmas market, especially just before Christmas Eve, was like a dream come to life; magical, enchanting, and filled with wonder. The festive stalls, glowing lights, and the aroma of mulled wine and roasted almonds created an atmosphere that was nothing short of extraordinary. It felt as though I had walked into one of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales, complete with twinkling lights and joyous holiday spirit. The blend of history, culture, and festive magic in Bremen made it an unforgettable experience. It’s not just a place you visit but one you feel deeply connected to, as if it was pulled straight from the pages of your favorite childhood storybook. Bremen is truly a city of wonders, especially during the Christmas season!
Bithy S — Google review
Bremen is a nice town. Interesting story around the musicians. Do not miss the church, the traditional stores including their famous chocolate, the candy making store, the narrowest street in germany as well as the manhole in the main square where you can listen to the animals for a coin. A great day trip place near Hamburg.
Carmen A — Google review
It cute, definitely a line to take photos of this statue. Wonderful little display in the town centre. Good to see. But it's just a statue.

Hello, I'm not the best storyteller and photographer, but if you're interested!! The city is beautiful and full of surprises. You just have to see the charm that Bremen can show and give. As one of!!! the most beautiful cities in Germany. I'm happy that I saw with my own eyes what you can see there. Yes, and a little bit of what I saw.
Normunds Z — Google review
Bremen – A City of Character and Quiet Charm I found Bremen to be a city full of understated beauty. Its historic center, with landmarks like the Town Hall and the Roland statue, speaks to its rich past, while quiet streets and riverside paths offer a peaceful atmosphere. The Bremen Town Musicians statue adds a whimsical touch, especially for those who appreciate folklore. It’s not a loud or flashy destination, but if you enjoy history, culture, and a slower pace, Bremen is well worth a visit.
Irina B — Google review
This is a must see statue depicting the most famous chapter of the story where the animal musicians scare away the robbers by creating a scary and noisy creature. It is best to (re-)read the short story first to get a better feel for the statue. We went before 8am and we were the only one there. It was peaceful and we had good morning light. We went later in the day as our traveling mascot, Pedals Puffin, wanted to see if he could join the musicians but alas he didn’t fit in the lineup. We had to wait in turn to get his photo opportunity.

It is full historic and beautiful place to visit in Bremen. I strongly suggest everyone visit it. The environment is so vivid and restless

As a Kurdish wanderer, the story of the Bremen Town Musicians resonates deeply with the spirit of our own people. Here you have these four animals – a donkey, a dog, a cat, and a rooster – each cast aside, deemed "useless" by their former masters, facing a bleak future of being discarded or worse. Yet, instead of succumbing to despair, they unite, their shared vulnerability forging an unbreakable bond. This journey to Bremen, a mythical land of freedom where they hope to become musicians, is not just a physical one; it's a profound act of defiance. They refuse to accept their assigned fate. Their strength lies not in individual power, but in their collective wit and their unique, cacophonous harmony – a sound that scares away the robbers and secures their new home. This mirrors the Kurdish experience so powerfully. For generations, Kurds have been displaced, denied their rights, and subjected to the harsh realities of occupation and attempted cultural erasure by various colonizing and occupying powers. Like the animals, many have been deemed "unwanted" or a "problem." Yet, in the face of such adversity, the Kurdish people have consistently shown an extraordinary resilience. Our resistance, much like the animals' loud and startling "music," hasn't always been about overwhelming force, but about unity, ingenuity, and an unwavering determination to survive and thrive. We, too, have formed alliances, often out of necessity, with those who share our dreams of self-determination. The vision of a free Kurdistan, a "Bremen" where our culture, language, and identity can flourish without threat, continues to drive us. The Bremen Town Musicians found their home not in the city they set out for, but in a place they claimed through collective action. This reminds me that for the Kurdish people, true liberation might not be a pre-ordained destination, but a space forged through our continued struggle, our unity, and our refusal to be silenced. Like those musicians, we continue to sing our song, a testament to our enduring spirit against all odds.

Bremen Roland is a magnificent stone statue that stands proudly in the heart of Bremen, Germany, symbolizing freedom and the market rights of this historic city. Erected in front of the stunning town hall—an architectural gem reflecting Weser Renaissance style—this UNESCO World Heritage site has become an iconic representation of Bremen's rich heritage. The statue depicts Roland, a legendary figure associated with Charlemagne, brandishing his sword and shield adorned with an imperial coat of arms.
Lovely City but all stores are closed except a few restaurants in the city center on Sundays.
Onur O — Google review
In the heart of Bremen’s Marktplatz, standing tall and proud, is a stone figure who has watched over the city for centuries: Roland. At first glance, he might seem like just another medieval knight carved in stone—but look closer, and you’ll discover that Roland is one of the most powerful symbols of freedom and civic pride in all of Europe. The current statue was erected in 1404, replacing an earlier wooden version that had been destroyed by the Archbishop of Bremen. That act alone says a lot—because Roland is not just any knight. He is a legendary figure from the court of Charlemagne, a symbol of justice and protector of the city’s independence. In medieval times, placing his statue in front of the town hall was a bold statement: “We govern ourselves here.” Roland’s presence declared that Bremen was a free imperial city, with rights granted directly from the Holy Roman Emperor, not subject to local lords or the church. He holds a sword (Durendal) and a shield bearing the imperial eagle, affirming those freedoms. Some say his slightly open mouth symbolizes free speech, and that as long as Roland stands, Bremen will remain free. That belief was so strong that during World War II, a wooden replica was made and hidden to protect the original from destruction. The statue stands over 5.5 meters tall, making it one of the largest surviving Roland statues in Germany. And unlike many monuments, this one isn’t just historical—it’s deeply symbolic. Roland is the silent guardian of Bremen’s identity: not just a knight, but a timeless voice of resistance, autonomy, and justice. In short, visiting Bremen without standing before Roland is like visiting Paris and skipping the Eiffel Tower. He’s not just carved in stone—he’s carved into the spirit of the city itself.

Bremen, AltStadt, Roland Statue. Magical Old Town We were very lucky to experience a sunshine Sunday! This coupled with a great walk about in this fabulous city worked out really well! First & foremost we had to do the classics, visit the Roland Statue, a representation of the Freedom of the “Hanse Stadt Bremen” (the original Hanseatic member of Trade & commerce) more here: The Bremen Roland is a statue of Roland, erected in 1404. It stands in the market square of Bremen, Germany, facing the cathedral, and shows Roland, paladin of the first Holy Roman Emperor of German Nations, Charlemagne and hero of the Battle of Roncevaux Pass. Wikipedia Further the Bremer Stadt Musikanten, (Town Musicians of Bremen) another fairytale like symbol of Bremen original fairytale by the Brothers Grimm! More here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Town_Musicians_of_Bremen So much to see in this City, therefore in this post just an overall view! Enjoy this little pictorial of a almost sunny day. It still cold, a great day for a walkabout ! #germany #traveladventures #drivingholidays #bremen #magicalbremen #bremenaltstadt #bremenoldtown #roland

The Roland statue in Bremen symbolizes freedom and civic rights. It was erected in 1404 and stands in the city’s market square, facing Bremen Cathedral. Roland was a legendary knight and the paladin of Charlemagne, celebrated for his bravery in the epic poem The Song of Roland. Bremen’s citizens adopted Roland as a symbol of independence from feudal rule and the church’s authority. According to local legend, as long as Roland stands watching over the city, Bremen will remain free. The statue holds a sword (symbolizing justice) and a shield with the imperial eagle (representing the Holy Roman Empire)

One of the coolest historical symbols in Bremen 🗿 The Roland statue stands tall right in front of the Town Hall 🏛 and is seriously hard to miss. It’s more than just an old statue it stands for freedom and independence 🗽, and locals are really proud of it 🇩🇪 You don’t need much time here ⏱️ but it’s totally worth stopping by if you’re exploring the old town 🏘 The whole square has such a great vibe with the Rathaus, the cathedral ⛪️ and street performers 🎻 Also, fun fact: this statue is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site 🏆 So yeah, it’s kind of a big deal. Grab a photo 📸, soak in the atmosphere 🌤 and enjoy a little slice of history.

Bremen Market Square is a charming and historic town square located in the heart of Bremen. It has been a central trading spot for centuries and is now famous for its annual holiday markets. The square is surrounded by stunning architecture, including the Weser Renaissance town hall and the iconic figure of Roland, both protected as UNESCO world heritage sites. Visitors can relax at one of the cafes on the square while taking in the bustling atmosphere.
Bremen Market Square is absolutely stunning and deserves every bit of five stars! Surrounded by magnificent historical buildings like the Town Hall and the Roland Statue, it’s a place where history and charm come together perfectly. The architecture is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is lively yet relaxed—ideal for strolling, taking photos, or enjoying a coffee at one of the nearby cafes. Whether you’re interested in culture, history, or just soaking up the local vibe, this square offers a memorable experience at any time of day. A true gem in the heart of Bremen!

The Market Square is the heart of the city of Bremen. It is a very beautiful old square, a favorite place for both locals and tourists to relax. Here you can find the famous statue of the Bremen Musicians. During my stay, a music festival was taking place. I highly recommend all tourists to visit and see this beautiful place.

What a wonderful pit stop on the way to Amsterdam from Hamburg. Standing in the middle of the square while the church tower was ringing was magical. So beautiful, makes you feel like you went back in time.

All the famous attractions in one spot, so if you just want to do the must sees, this is it. St Petri Dom, Böttcherstrasse, the Muscians, the Loch, the Rathaus - all in or just off the square. Other than one small souvenir kiosk, it is not at all touristy and certainly wasn’t crowded on a Monday at 11am. Easy to get to via public transport.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Magical Christmas atmosphere in the heart of Bremen! The Bremen Christmas Market is absolutely enchanting — one of the most beautiful festive experiences I’ve ever had! The whole city comes alive with sparkling lights, the smell of roasted almonds, mulled wine, and gingerbread filling the air. The market stalls are full of unique handmade gifts, traditional German treats, and beautiful decorations that make it impossible not to feel the Christmas spirit. The historic setting in the old town adds to the charm, especially around the stunning Bremen Town Hall and Roland statue. Everyone is so friendly, and there’s a real sense of warmth and joy everywhere you go. Whether you’re sipping hot chocolate, listening to carol singers, or admiring the lights by the river, it truly feels like stepping into a Christmas fairy tale. I would recommend the Bremen Christmas Market to anyone — it’s an unforgettable experience and the perfect way to celebrate the season!

Very interesting place. You will see a diversity of people : ranging from 10 guided tours to opposite manifestations being 20 meters from another and throwing eachother the most evil looks I have seen on earth. Ignoring this, we obviously have a beautiful rest of architecture, that’s quite well preserved since it wasn’t bombed. Anyone who likes seeing pretty houses, interested in German history or has a design/architect background will like it.

Pizza Takeout
Pizza Hut is a family-friendly chain known for its made-to-order pizzas. It is usually a good place to go with office colleagues for lunch. They have a variety of pizza options and one pasta dish. The quantity of the pasta and pizza would be sufficient for everyone. The ambience can be okay depending on when you visit, as it tends to be less busy in the afternoon. There are also different offers each day if you want something quick and easy.
I was there with my office colleagues for team lunch. We ordered almost 5-6 different kinds of pizza and one penne chicken pasta. The quantity of the pasta and pizza would be sufficient for everyone. The ambience was quite okay because we visited it early afternoon and there were not many people there. You also have different offers each day. Or also some quick lunch options. It would cost you a minimum of 6-10€

Theres No Names on Pizza’s so can’t tell which is Which Also a Downside. Schröters Leib & Seele is a restaurant with Mediterranean and German cuisine. It is known for its antipasti, abundant mains, and artful decoration. The cuisine tends to be down to earth, but can lack the finesse of more formal restaurants.
Great food and pleasant atmosphere. Both the fillet steak and the Zander fillet with gnocchi were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Even the complimentary bread was delicious. It took the kitchen quite a while to prepare the main dishes, but it was worth the wait. The waiters were accommodating and treated my friend and I to a small complimentary shrimp soup, which was quite nice actually. Overall, a very good dining experience.

A wonderful restaurant that is worth the short walk down the alley to find it. The schnitzel is excellent, but make sure you're hungry as it's quite a big portion. The perch is quite tasty. If you've saved room for dessert, I highly recommend the chocolate creme brulee. You won't be disappointed.

Schröters Leib & Seele is a highly recommended restaurant located in Hamburg, Germany. The restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere and serves delicious German and European cuisine, including seafood dishes and vegetarian options. Overall, Schröters Leib & Seele is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Bremen.
