Nature & Parks
Breitbeck Park is a stunning community park located in Oswego, overlooking the vast expanse of Lake Ontario. The park offers various attractions such as a notable bell tower, playground, open green space, and picnic area with pavilion. Visitors can enjoy a 5.9-mile walking loop with benches and scenic views of the lighthouse, break wall, and boats, making it an ideal spot to witness breathtaking sunsets over the lake.
Didn't get to experience the entire feel of the park since it was winter, plus it was a quick visit at the end of a short vacation before heading home, but the park was still more beautiful than expected. Would love to return in warmer weather. There is a walkable pier that is so inviting. There was handicap parking and the pier is very much handicap accessible. I love how you can see a lighthouse from the shore. Definitely want to return in warmer weather.

So many options here during the summer time - splash pad, mini-golf for $2, basketball, playground, paved pathway along the water. Beautiful spot to go to cool off, go for a walk, or unwind and catch a sunset.

Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Oswego, The Red Sun Fire Roasting Co. is a must-visit destination for food lovers seeking a casual yet delightful dining experience. This lively eatery boasts an impressive menu that features everything from wood-fired pizzas to unique dishes like empanadas and Thai chicken lettuce wraps, ensuring there's something for everyone in your group.
A quaint busy restaurant in downtown Oswego. Outdoor seating on the street and large amount of booths and tables inside. Friendly service with recommendations and specials. The waitress also asked if there were any allergies. Started with the fried artichokes with sunflower seed gremolata and citrus aioli. The artichokes were lightly coated and perfect size to pick up and dip. The gremolata added another crunch and deserved a spoon to get it all. I had the Atlantic Cod with roasted mushrooms and bok choy with a carrot ginger puree. The fish was slightly crispy and fell apart when cut. The carrot ginger puree added a perfect sweetness to the dish. I probably would have licked my plate if I didn't have bread to use. My husband had the special bay scallop scampi with fresh roasted tomatoes and shaved parmesan. The sauce was bright and lemony. Highly recommend this restaurant if you visit Oswego!

The fish and chips were awesome, I told the waiter they should add it to the menu. The pizza was really good too. Service was excellent as well.

I’ve been here in the past and never had any issues. I went the other day and ordered the chicken gnocchi, which I get often. The gnocchi was ok, but the chicken was extremely hard to eat because of how dry and flavorless it was. The presentation was also shocking; I’ve never had it served like this, and the portion size was smaller than I’ve ever received before. I had higher expectations based on my previous visits, so to be completely honest, I was in utter shock. Paying $25 for dry, skimpy chicken and overcooked gnocchi was extremely disappointing. I wish I went to bistro or even got a frozen dinner over this.

Well, it wasn’t the food. It was the bartender on Monday, August 25. The young lady took my order and the food sat in the window for 20 minutes. I ordered the stuff sold. The lady Chef looked at the ticket and then finally 15 minutes later, she said to the bartender who only had three people sitting at the bar. Remind her the order was up, so I ate cold, stuffed crab yes the menu has so many good food items on it. Unfortunately, I’m here for the next month for work and when I find a place I go every night and I skipped it. I’ll try if I walk by and see her not working, and hopefully things will be improved. Very disgusting to be paying very expensive prices forhorrible service.

Nice place, great food, fresh & well prepared, nice bar area, great staff. Four stars for atmosphere only because we were seated in the back alcove & it needs some love. Our view of the river was thro dirty glass & window frames that need a touch up. Would go back again & recommend to fellow visitors to Oswego. The River Walk & old downtown are fun, safe & walkable. Four stars on atmosphere only because we were seated in the back alcove & it needs some love. Our view of the river was through dirty glass & windows that needed a touch up. It's a renovated historic building so that's understandable.

This was our 2nd visit to Red Sun and again we had a wonderful meal. My food did come out not completely hot, I pointed this out to my server and she apologized and quickly took my food back to the kitchen. I’m just a few minute my meal was out and nice and hot. I don’t usually send food back but if you don’t tell them there is a problem they won’t know. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his pizza. This is our go to when we are in Oswego. Great spot for dinner.

Party of 4 for dinner. We tried their specials, ribeye, chicken pasta and pizza. All good except for the pizza. I ordered small margarita pizza. First 2 slices tasted delicious but 3rd one all I could taste was salt. Not sure if it was the cheese or someone dumped salt. Service was fantastic!

Fishing charter
Ace Charters - Lake Ontario Fishing Charters offers an array of options for those visiting Oswego, NY. Whether you're looking for activities beyond fishing or seeking a memorable fishing experience, Ace Charters has you covered. With Captain Jimmy and First Mate Bob at the helm, guests can expect professionalism, expertise, and a personalized touch. Visitors highly recommend this charter for an unforgettable Lake Ontario fishing adventure.
I grew up fishing Lake Ontario for king salmon and lake trout with my dad and brother. My son has been asking to go for years, and this year we finally booked a trip for his 15th birthday. I dug around online looking for a charter that I thought would be a good fit based on my experiences and memories as a kid, and I'm thrilled we found Ace Charters! Captain Jimmy and his first mate Bob were awesome. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable guys — they know the lake, the fish, the gear… ALL of it. You'll be in GREAT hands with these guys. They even helped us from getting sea sick in their recommendations to prep for the trip. THANK YOU Jimmy and Bob for an amazing day! It was very special and took me right back. You gave my son, his best friend, and I memories for a lifetime. We will absolutely be back for more!
Sean C — Google review
Our experience with Captain Jim and crew was amazing! It was our first time to New York from Utah and we wanted to show our boys a good time. They put us on the fish and we stayed on them the whole day! We ended up with 12 kings with 3 of them being over 20 lbs! It's obvious that he knows his stuff. Beyond that, they were super kind and great with the kids. Very patient. Thanks for the good time!
Kyle T — Google review
From start to finish, our experience with Ace Charters was nothing short of amazing. Captain Jimmy and the crew were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. They made us feel welcome and at ease right away, and their expertise was obvious the moment we hit the water. We were on the fish almost immediately — and not just little ones! The gear was top-notch, the boat was clean and comfortable, and the whole operation ran like a well-oiled machine. Whether you're a seasoned angler or it's your first time casting a line, they make the whole experience fun and accessible. One of the highlights of the day was Captain Jimmy’s sense of humor — he kept us laughing the entire trip. His quick wit and hilarious one-liners added so much to the atmosphere. You come for the fishing, but you stay for the comedy show! What really stood out was how much they cared about making sure everyone had a great time. They went above and beyond, from sharing tips and stories to helping us land some truly impressive catches. It was the kind of trip you talk about for years. If you're looking for a charter that delivers excitement, professionalism, great fishing, and a lot of laughs, Ace Charters is the one. Can’t wait to book with them again!

My son booked Ace Charters for a Lake Ontario fishing expedition as a retirement gift for me. I’m so glad he did. Captain Jim and First Mate Eric were excellent! They took us out and found us some big King Salmon, several smaller kings and I landed a large Brown Trout. Both were professional and personable. We had a great time. I highly recommend booking your next fishing trip with them. Terrific!

Capt. Jimmy is awesome. He knows where to find the fish, even in a slow day. This is my second year with Ace Charters, and it was great time. I 100% recommend this charter. It was a blast!
Ryan C — Google review
The guys in our family took a charter this past Monday morning with Captain Jimmy and his mate Eric. I have been on several charters over the years and Captain Jimmy by far provided us the most enjoyable experience. He put us on the fish and kept us on the fish. There were several in our group that had never been hooked up with a king salmon before but Jimmy and Eric were great about talking them through it and they all got fish on the deck including my 14 year old son! Was a great morning of good conversation, good fishing, and luckily good weather!

I am truly SPOILED by the service my daughter and myself received this weekend. While stopping by for a steak dinner for my daughter’s 12th birthday we were seated on the gorgeous outdoor river view deck. Our server Mariah made our experience so amazing we felt as though she took personal care of us and made sure we were fully satisfied beyond our expectations. She also came to show off the special limited dessert she had made for another customer so we know what we could look forward to. Not only did she remember every single aspect of our order (without writing a single thing, she just had it down) she checked on us multiple times making sure we had everything we needed as well as treating us to matching rings from their extras from an event, she presented us with a birthday treat and took mine and my daughters picture together with the sunset in the background a treasured memory I will always hold sacred. When I tell you we are still talking about this long after the meal this is an understatement. Mariah is a GEM and truly the sweetest and a perfect example of customer service. We will always cherish that night thank you so much again!!!

I was pleasantly surprised finding this place inside of a hotel of all places. The menu is good. It is varied. You can get bar grub under 20 bucks or splurge and get a nice entrée whether it’d be land or sea the seafood platter broiled was the best in the area. I came back twice in one week so that says a lot because it’s the only place I returned back to.

Excellent service from our waitress Crystal! She went above and beyond to find our kiddos ice cream at the end of their meals. Wonderful and attentive to any of our requests. Food good as always and nice view of the River with a ship in port. Server who brought our meals was also very pleasant and friendly. Very enjoyable meal!

Subway is a casual counter-serve chain that offers build-your-own sandwiches and salads, including health-conscious options. The restaurant provides a customizable experience for customers to create their ideal meal. With various locations, Subway aims to cater to different preferences and dietary needs. Customers have praised the attentive service at certain outlets, where staff members have been accommodating and respectful of individual tastes and food preferences, particularly when serving families with children.
The Subway by campus is mid at best, go here instead. They properly bake the bread here and the ingridients are scrumptious. The manager is cool and so are his fellow staff. Why are you still at the Subway by campus? Come get some good sandwhiches up here. Also i walked in as they were just pulling the cookies out of the oven and holy hell they look and smell good. I got a footlong, chips, and a celsius so you can understand how I spent $15 for my meal. Worth it though
Logan — Google review
Rude young staff with attitude problems. That feel they can behave like middle school mean girls, and lie to a customer 's face about the freshness of stale bread. Stale cookies and burned cheese. Never see a staff member stay for very long. I won't be back!
Nancy T — Google review
Hours need to be updated online if you do not close at 10pm. Placed an order at 8:30pm and the app said my order would be ready by 8:55pm. I walked in at 8:50pm to a very obviously irritated employee. Come to find out they close at 9pm. I’m not sure I will be back to this location for a while due to how unpleasant this interaction was.
Emily C — Google review
We have ordered from here a couple times through DoorDash, they were fine. Tonight we decided to give it a shot since we wanted something simple for dinner. We ordered through DoorDash, all of our food came in cold. Meatball sub (it’s supposed to be toasted, and have at least 3 meatballs), it wasn’t toasted at all with only 1 meatball the rest was just sauce. My hubby ordered a sub with mixed meats and toasted bread, again was not toasted and one had 1 type of meat on it.. he also ordered that he wanted extra topping, never got that either. We were really disappointed this time around. Decided we will never eat here again.
Alexis L — Google review
Says they close at 10, stopped but at 9:03 on a thursday and the door was locked. no updated hours posted anywhere and still says 9A -10P on the door. wasted trip and time.
Brandon V — Google review
This was my first visit to this particular Subway; and most definitely my last. It was dirty, and all the windows needed cleaned. Days, maybe weeks of smeary fingerprints. Just nasty and unacceptably gross. First, I was disappointed to see that my old standby Italian combo, that I’ve ordered for decades, is no longer on the menu. Then, the girl (in training) didn’t have the common sense to put the mayo on the bread, before adding veggies, etc. She squirted it on top of the lettuce/tomatoes, etc., wrapped it up, then when unwrapping, I had a mess because everything stuck to the paper, fell off and got all over everything. I understand the girl was in training, but my God people, have some common freaking sense. Not like she was 10. Theses kids need to start learning how to do the most menial of tasks before going out into the workforce. Subway raised their prices, comparable to actual deli subs (which they can’t compare to), the roll was somewhat dry, and whole experience was nothing but disappointing. My chances of returning to any Subway are slim now that they’ve discontinued my favorite sub. Here’s some advice; clean your filthy restaurant and train your workers before walking off (assuming they know how to build a sandwich).
Linda H — Google review
they close the door at 9 not 10, even if the sign says open and the works are inside, the doors are locked. a huge waste of time.
Natanem A — Google review
So my wifey and I came in to order 2 6in subs The wife asks for a 6 in and the lady worker asks what kind of bread after we already told her Italian bread the first time she asks and asked us a second time with an attitude? I’m sorry you didn’t hear me the first 3 times you already messed up my order after you grabbed a 12” so me and her decided we’re just gonna share an the second worker who was also a lady asked what we wanted on our sub for Vegetables, I told her banana peppers, onions wifey says A little lettuce, what does the worker do? Grabs a hand full and then sum xtra like y’all are joking wit me today right ?! Not to mention they had no mayonnaise I’d post a picture of my disappointed sub but that’s a different story 🥺

This is a MUST go to place. I would make the drive from Rochester to go back to eat here! The atmosphere has an elite-fancy feel when you first enter, impressing a possible date😊. Once you encounter the staff, you feel relaxed, welcomed, and encouraged to ask any questions you might have on the unique inventive small plate masterpieces on the menu. From the hostess, to the bartender, to the waitresses I left here feeling energized, happy, and excited. My girlfriends also agreed it was the perfect kickoff to our girls weekend getaway!!

The Rooftop Lounge is wonderful! A fine dining "like" experience, without too much glitz, glam and outrageous pricing. Our group of 5 had a great experience. Our reservation had us seated immediately and their team went to work. It's really nice inside, small, clean and elegant. There is some nice space outside as well overlooking the city, but too cold to thoroughly enjoy the night we were there. The service was quick and smooth, and the food and drinks from top to bottom were great. Not a single complaint to be found at our table, just smiling faces and happy tummies! The menu is unique, diverse and will likely have something for everybody. I highly recommend making your reservation today, we'll certainly be back again soon. Enjoy!!

So glad we decided to try this place. An impromptu early dinner date turned into a beautiful experience. We showed up early on a weekday with no reservations and was lucky enough to still grab a seat outside. I love that this place is just small plates and really great drinks. I'm always a fan of trying lots of things when I go out because I just love food so a few small plates to share was perfect. We tried the filet with risotto, the burnt ends, and the duel of tacos. Everything was delicious, perfect cooked, and well plated. The drink menu was absolutely fantastic with lots of options. I decided to start with the whiskey flight, it had a great range of flavors and nice smokey sweet contrast between the different whiskeys offered. Between the small plates we enjoyed and the whiskey flights it was a great combination of different flavor profiles. Then came dessert, wow! We indulged and got the tiramisu and the turtle ice cream cake. Both were delicious but, the ice cream cake from man on the moon candies was absolutely amazing. It was creamy, well balanced with different textures and flavors, it was so decadent. (We even adventured across the street and bought some goodies from the candy shop before heading home.) With dessert I enjoyed the pecan old-fashioned, it was a perfect sweet after dinner drink that complemented the desserts we ordered. In all the service was great, the meal was beautiful, well balanced, and clean. The best part while enjoying our dinner and the view surrounding us a Bald Eagle 🦅 flew by! So in all we couldn't of asked for a better night out.

We took my mom here for a birthday celebration on a Saturday and it was the first time for all of us, but definitely not our last! Everything was top notch, from the hostess who greeted us at the ground floor and escorted us up the elevator to our table to our wonderful server Olivia to the delicious and abundant food and drink (which was priced right!) We were even treated to a complimentary champagne toast for the birthday girl! Don't let the small plates and tapas style of the Rooftop Lounge deter you from checking them out. Everything was delicious and we all left their stuffed and happy. You can't beat the view either. I was born and raised in Oswego and it took me 50 years and this special place to see some of the most beautiful views of my hometown! Be sure to make a reservation and prepare to have a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other offerings!

Beautiful waterfront dining. Super friendly wait staff. I had the chicken "pub riggies (pasta) a local central NY traditional menu item and it didn't disappoint. A huge portion and plenty to take home after. I asked for the sauce at a 3 on the 1-5 hot scale. I like it spicy and 3 had a moderate level of that hot pepper bite, but not too much. But I like it 🔥. Comes with soup or salad. I chose salad and it came with a house made vinaigrette, it was zippy with a perfect vinegar flavor. They had specials that sounded great, but I stuck to my plan and had the riggies. Very very good. Great looking place inside and the waterfront area is awesome. Casual works but you could dress up if you are so inclined. Watching Tiki boats slide by is nice. You can use the outside entrance or if you're a guest at the Best Western it's just an elevator ride away.

Meh. This meal was $27. I was excited to have a twist on a carbonara, but this was just some pasta with mild sausage and a few pieces of Asparagus. Not even close…Carbonara is not made with tomato sauce.

We sat at the bar for happy hour Jake, the bartender recommended we had the pork chops to die for absolutely to die, for we were able to meet the cook Before we left and we told him how wonderful his food was we will definitely be back and I wish there were more stars on here because I’d like to give you more stars

Had a really nice time at La Parilla. The food I had was very enjoyable, a chickpea appetizer which was something I rarely see was very good. The fried softshell crab was quite appetizing as well. What really impressed me was how nice the place was and how fantastic the staff and atmosphere was. It was such a great energy on what was a gorgeous day. The set up on the water with how well designed the restaurant is, fantastic. Looking forward to going back and bringing more friends along. Enjoy!

Great space on the water. Plenty of options for everyone. The mussel chowder was so full of mussels that it took 2 dishes to remove the shells. The broth was flavorful but the potatoes were definitely left to big and awkward to eat. The bolognese risotto was thick and creamy.

Really delicious food. We loved the home fried potatoes, blackened salmon and chicken paella 🥘. Was not a fan of today's soup with tomatoes. Can dine in. Highly highly recommend as good was sooo tasty

We visited LaParilla while stay at the Best Western Plus at Oswego NY. Loved the large Patio with the shaded overhead which provided shade on a warm Summer evening. The atmosphere was beautiful sitting out right near the river. And bug free. Our server was excellent seeing as we visited on a busy evening. She was efficient professional friendly and fun. The one person entertainment( guitar player who had an excellent voice and offered a variety of songs) also thankyou for singing Happy Birthday to me!! Appetizer: canalope with pershuta with a tangy ( spicy with enough heat). I highly reccomend. Cocktail: home made (choices white or red wine) I choose the white. Crisp cold with the right enough of fruit. Also I ordered a Watermelon cocktail. Since it was my birthday the bonus was a huge cocktail which came in a very cool souvenir plastic bucket.Thank you LA Parilla! Entree of choice( highly reccomed) was the signature chicken Riggies. Which you have a preference on how spicy the dish will be made for you. I chose a level 3. This is the best chicken Reggie I ever had! Lots of chicken with the right amount of pepper and mushroom along with cheese. Taste compared to a chicken wing! Lots of leftovers to bring home and enjoy! Entree came with a large fresh salad. Entree did not include bread. Which I requested. Nice assortment of artisian bread nice and warm. We were not charged for the bread. Good prices for the meal along with a phenomenal atmosphere and server. I only wish I lived much closer so I could enjoy the dining experience LA Parilla offers!

Place wasn’t exactly what I thought, I was hoping for a more relaxed dining environment. When we got there it was pretty empty but outside they had some party going which was loud and we were sat by the door with the constant in and out. Food was a bit under seasoned, appetizers were ok but I do recommend the Clams if you need one, the steak needed more seasoning but the temperature was cooked perfectly. Got an Old fashioned not made well. Staff was nice and the best part of the experience.

If you're on the hunt for a pizza experience that truly satisfies, look no further than Pizza Villa. This gem offers a unique Sicilian-style crust that's cooked to perfection in a Neapolitan round shape, and it's generously topped with cheese. Many locals have been singing its praises for decades, making it a must-try spot when you're in the area.
It's a Sicilian pizza crust, cooked Neapolitan round. Oh..and it's loaded with cheese! Everyone's vision of pizza is different. The reality is, everyone just really wants a good tasting pizza. Pizza villa makes an almost Deep Dish Pizza, without the Deep Dish. It's a hour from where I live, but my neighbor has always raved about the pizza at Pizza Villa going back 40yrs, and stopping in when he could. Tonight I happened to be up that way and planned on finally stopping in on the way home. It's a unique style pizza in the Sicilian style while being Napolitan round. So if you love a thick slice, loaded with cheese, Pizza Villa is your place! If you want a thinner crust I guess you can ask, but how many people don't eat the crust ring! Their pizza ring is smaller, and less likely not to be eaten! They only down side is, they don't have slices but they offer personal up to a large pizza. They have 3 sizes of ccanzone! The small I got is big enough for 2-3 people to share. You get good, and a good amount of it, a very reasonable price!

We have tried most pizza joints in Oswego- and none of them quite hit the mark. Cold upon arrival- raw onion tossed on the pizza prior to arrival (oops we meant to cook it) or just crappy pizza! So we decided to try Pizza Villa and we are pretty happy with the pizza. It is on the thicker side which presents a small issue that I will address- but the flavor was great, toppings abundant and the baked wings were delicious. Heading home from Liverpool we called and placed a pickup order. Meat pizza with onions and an order of plain wings- crispy. Staff that answered the phone were great and informative and after a “give us about 30 min” I hung up the phone and headed their way. Arrived to lots of smiles and happy staff making pizzas and wings and told them we had not had great experiences with other places in Oswego- and they said “well we hope you love ours” Got home and dug in. The pizza and sauce (just the right amount) is delicious. I had asked for it to be well done as we generally prefer thin crust, theirs is pretty thick, and they obliged. The wings were really great and fell off the bone. The only criticism I have is that due to the thickness of the crust, it wasn’t cooked through and was doughy. They seem to cook the pizza in a pan in the oven and it doesn’t have direct contact with the oven (that is what I saw) so perhaps the pan is keeping the crust from cooking through? Not sure- but it was the only draw back. It wasn’t horribly undercooked just enough that it was noticeable. Other than that- great taste, great experience and we will be back!!

The meatball sub I ordered tonight had to have been made for a child. Instead of 6 big meatballs, I got a bunch of bits and pieces of what might’ve been 2 maybe 3 much smaller meatballs, making the sub no joke 85% sauce and cheese. Wasted money and time, and now I have to do it all over again, or cook for myself, like I probably should’ve done in the first place.

Ordered delivery and it came in a little over an hour with the food still hot. Tasted great. The baked wings were excellent. I can see why so many people recommend it.
Bethany S — Google review
This place was on our list to try and what an absolute disappointment!!!!! A small pizza is actually a personal pizza!!!! They bake the wings which they should definitely state when you order extra extra crispy, tell someone hey we don't deep fry we bake as we would have never ordered!!!! The staff was sitting around out back at 8:20 pm instead of taking care of customers!!!! I personally won't be back, worst pizza and wings in Oswego, and omg the prices are terrible!!!!! To each their own but just yuck all the way around!!!!

Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Fort Ontario State Historic Site, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Wright's Landing Marina. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Fort Ontario State Historic Site, a remarkable 19th-century star-shaped fort, is perched on the east bank of the Oswego River and offers stunning views of Lake Ontario. This historic site stands where three previous forts were built and destroyed between 1755 and 1840. Visitors can embark on a self-guided tour to explore various structures such as the Officers Quarters, Powder Magazine, Men's Barracks, Storeroom, guardhouses, and underground artillery casements.
My family is in New York for a week vacation and we toured Fort Ontario. It’s a wonderful place to take your family or even go for a solo visit. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. This historical site is clean and well maintained. They have interactive iPads to provide more information and fun facts.

The park people are knowledgeable of the history of the fort. My grandson and cousins lived being able to walk the ledges around the fort and go down into the underground parts. Beautiful views.

Fort Ontario is a unique star shaped fort located in Oswego, NY. The original fort was constructed in 1755. The fort was the site of many battles in many wars including the French and Indian War, American Revolution, and the War of 1812. The fort would continue to be used as a military base of sorts all the way until the end of WW2. During WW2 the fort took in nearly 1,000 refugees who were escaping the Holocaust. Today, the fort is a New York State Historic Site. For a small fee you can take a self-guided tour of the fort. The fort has a small, but interesting museum on its history through the years. After seeing the museum you can walk around the star shaped fort and visit nearly all of its buildings. The houses and barracks in the fort are well preserved and presented as they would’ve looked in the mid-19th century. The fort has very knowledgeable historical reenactors as well. On top of the well presented history, the fort also offers great views of Lake Ontario. Near the fort on Lake Ontario you can also see a historic lighthouse. Views of parts of the city of Oswego are also possible at the fort. Overall, this is a great historic site to visit. The history here is well presented in an engaging manner. Being able to walk around the fort with its nice views is an added bonus. The fort is an awesome place to visit in Oswego

I don't want to knock it because it was closed thanks to the government shut down. We enjoyed a walk around the fort bur would like to come back in the future to actually get in. Our trip was planned and booked well before the shutdown so just unfortunate timing for us.

Fort Ontario is a stunning historic gem! Watching the Syracuse Symphony perform there last night was magical—perfect blend of history, music, and lakeside charm. The acoustics and setting were fantastic!
Chena T — Google review
You can walk around the exterior of the fort and read about the history for free. There are also picnic tables overlooking the water. There is a nice view of the lighthouse as well. It's great that they have preserved this piece of local history! I stopped over while the fort itself was closed but I would love to visit again to learn more about the history.
Vanessa R — Google review
This is a beautiful place to relax, to walk, and to fly a kite! Their ghost tours are amazing too! There is such a beautiful view of the lake, especially at sunset. The museum and artifacts are really cool. Be sure to come support this amazing Fort!

If you like history this is a wonderful place to visit. I've been there several times, they dress in period clothes, host reenactments, share the early American historical facts as our country was shaping. There is a small cemetery off to one corner, ask about anything - the staff is very helpful in answering. Great place to bring the kids - especially so they can learn a bit about our country.

The Splash Indoor Waterpark Resort is an adorable and enjoyable destination for families. Children of all ages, from toddlers to preteens, had a fantastic time at this exciting venue. The cuisine was excellent, and the establishment maintained a high level of cleanliness. The staff members were friendly and accommodating, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Additionally, the water area's floor was padded, ensuring that no one experienced discomfort or injuries when walking or falling.
Kind of pricey for the size of it and we only stayed like an hour and a half I wish it was a little less and maybe had family special to get in when you have a lot of kids. That's the worst part about it is the price other than that the bathrooms were clean everything is bright and freshly painted. The lifeguards are very attentive ! They're not on the kids case all the time for doing this or that although there was some running going on in there and I didn't hear any of the guards tell them to stop running. The big tube slide is good enough for big kids or people also. Next time I'd like to stay in the hotel so the kids can just go down and play whenever they want!
Sharon — Google review
It’s okay for what it is. Very small. Better for younger kids. Mine are 9, 11, and 12. Because we only did the water portion (no arcade or food), the water portion was only enough to keep them occupied for about an hour and half and that was pushing it. There isn’t a pool for actual swimming. Just activity areas. Even by the big dump bucket, staff wouldn’t let you just stand there in the water, made the kids keep moving away. Kind of annoying. Large hot tub, but tons of unsupervised kids in it despite the signs.
S J — Google review
Super fun & cheaper than a lot of other indoor water parks! Mostly for teens & under. Everything was pretty clean/sanitized & looks relatively newer. There's a pool to swim & play basketball, an obstacle course, a kiddie area & big kid area with a sprinkler lagoon & giant water dump, smaller slides, a big hot tub, & 2 big water slides. 2nd floor arcade, 3rd floor food/bar. Definitely worth it for a $20 day pass for kids! It was $35 for an adult on a Saturday. & It's cheaper on the weekdays. We stayed at the Clarion (it's attached to it) & it wasn't a bad price (~$150/night ish). Prices for food weren't that bad either but it did take a while for the food to come out. It's also cool that it's overlooking the river! We loved it & hope to come back.

Had a great time with friends and their children at the new water park in Oswego everything was clean and it wasn't too crowded. It's a good size with plenty of water features to enjoy the day. Beautiful location on the Oswego River and along the Riverwalk.

We were gifted a $150 gift card for my son’s birthday. We made the 90 minute drive to splash, arrived around 11am to find no parking spaces available. Had to park very far away and walk in the blistering cold. Then paid $106 for myself, my two kids ages 7 & 10, and for my mom to simply spectate on the side. That’s seems extremely high for the amount of attractions they have to offer. I then asked if I just bring the gift card up to the splash cafe to use the remaining $44 on pizza and drinks for my kids. I was told the gift cards aren’t eligible for their food or their arcade. That was insane to me. We drove an hour and a half, you can’t bring in outside food or drinks, and now I wasn’t able to use the gift card balance on food. That pretty much ruined the experience for me and my kids as they were hungry after about an hour of playing and unfortunately I didn’t bring money for food expecting that the gift card could be used anywhere throughout the park. Oh yeah you also have to pay for a locker so be prepared to spend money at every corner. Secondly, this place was just insanely packed. As soon as we walked in an hour after opening, there was already nowhere to sit. The pool was cloudy and warm from the amount of kids they were letting in it. There was a 20 person line for the hot tub at all times. During cold and flu season I would recommend they lower the capacity. It really takes away from the enjoyment of the experience when you’re forced to stand up holding your belongings, while you struggle to find your kids in a sea of 200 plus children and adults. Would not recommend and we will not be returning or using the remaining balance on the gift card. I highly recommend cascades waterpark in Cortland! Less crowded, more attractions, and their gift cards can be used ANYWHERE in the waterpark unlike splash.

Extremely family friendly! My daughter and I have been here over ten times in the past year and we absolutely love it! Staff is absolutely wonderful. Food is great. Only negative I can say is the arcade is a pricey.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Splash!! It was great having everything all in one place. Splash was located right inside of the Clarion along with Streamers Restaurant. We were able to stay, play and eat all in the same spot. Thank you for a great experience!!
Elyse D — Google review
We came for the weekend with our grandchildren. We had 8 kids ranging from 2-11. They all had a blast. The place was well maintained and even tho it is more geared for younger kids the 11 year old had fun as well. It is big enough that they had enough to do but not so big that you couldn’t sit in one area and keep an eye on your kids no matter where they were. The arcade area was a descent size and had enough games for kids of all ages. The food court on the top level had a variety of different things and between all of us I think we had just about everything. And all of it was very good. We did the stay and play package and for around 200$ you can beat staying in a hotel plus 2 days if the water park for that. They also gave you 5$ off the food and $5 off in the gift shop plus $5 for the arcade. The best thing is you don’t have to leave the building to go from your hotel to the water park.

Wright's Landing is beautifully kept with a great park area and marina. A must see and enjoy area in Oswego. And, don't forget to get your souvenirs at the gift shop or take a Lighthouse tour by taking the tour pontoon boat out to the restored Oswego Harbor Lighthouse. There are chairs and tables at Cahill Pier to relax and enjoy the scenery. Go up the hill to Breitbeck Park for continued enjoyment of Lake Ontario viewing.

As a driver that drives around the United States in a box truck I don’t often get to see the beautiful sites. However, on this early morning that I visited, I was able to park here for approximately 10 to 15 minutes just enough time to be able to take in the beautiful sites and a few photos, it was absolutely breathtaking morning the cold wind Blowing in off of Lake Ontario. Thank you for the great views.

Nice pier to take a walk by the water. To bad it was 15 degrees. The biting wind off the lake was chilling. You can get a good view of the light house from the pier.

We went here in September to tour the Oswego lighthouse, and it was very nice. The grounds and building(s) were clean and well taken care of and after the lighthouse tour, accessible by the small pontoon style boats, we even walked along the new pier park. Lots of available parking and space to maneuver trucks and boats. We don't have a boat ourselves, but it seems like a decent place to launch one! The lighthouse itself would be hard to navigate if you have any mobility issues, but there were plenty of people to help if needed, on the docks, so I am sure some accomodations would be made if told in advance of the tour.

This marina is a great place to launch for access to the port of Oswego. The brand new building still smells of fresh paint. Just reopened June first. Launch lanes are excellent, and there is ample parking. They allow boaters to launch during business hours and load out at night after office it's closed. There is no automatic payment option for after hours. There is a bathroom and fish cleaning station at this site.

I'm a common customer. The service is wonderful. They always greet us and even when busy they still do their best to get to us in a timely fashion. I feel like the lady at the counter could use more help though. Food is worth the wait. Great job!

I ordered 2 large general tso chicken. With white rice. My son wanted broccoli in his. I like carrots in mine. Plus i ordered 4 teriyaki chicken sticks and they had no teriyaki flavor on it at all. My son worked 12 hrs and was looking forward to it. My chicken was substandard, I have had much better. My son's chicken was tasteless. This meal was expensive. I called and asked if they would refund me one of the chicken. The answer was no. Lesson learned. I told the lady I won't be ordering food from them again. I normally go to K & Q. Thought I would try this. K and Q will have my business from now on. Don't waste your money. Do not recommend.

I ordered two meals, the person that took my order was very fluent in English, I asked for orange chicken Combo with lo mein, and sesame chicken combo with chicken fried rice add mushroom and to make sure the egg rolls were vegetable ones and no shrimp as there was an allergy. The egg rolls look like spring rolls different than I got last time when I asked for vegetable ones and the orange chicken combo had rice, and the other one the chicken fried rice had weird chicken in it.

Nestled along the picturesque Oswego Canal, Dockside Bar and Grill is a vibrant harborside restaurant that perfectly blends contemporary design with stunning waterfront views. With ample outdoor seating, guests can enjoy refreshing craft cocktails while soaking in the breezy atmosphere. The spacious interior features large windows that allow diners to appreciate the scenic beauty even from inside, complemented by a cozy gas fireplace for added warmth.
This place is warm and friendly and the employees seem really happy and enthusiastic about their jobs. The grouper appetizer is delicious and it's a beautiful location. I realize things have changed and social norms aren't what they used to be but allowing a patron to be on speakerphone really loud the whole dinner affects the other customers. Considering that this isn't a super cheap restaurant, let's keep some kind of standards it's s easier if the staff just pays attention to these things and then handles it with the customer without waiting for people to complain. It keeps the atmosphere nicer.

I was impressed at the upscale decor. Then came the shocking surprise that it was tied to a Best Western. Form there came the awe of a beautiful covered patio with a view of the river and lake. The stage was set for greatness, but then... I really wanted to give a higher rating because of the awesome outdoor bartender, but I was so disappointed in the food that I would rate it in my bottom 5 of worst seafood dinners. I've been traveling for 21 years and always pay full price, tip over 20%, and then if there were any issues, try to leave evidence of what was wrong and point it out for the kitchen staff to correct for the future, which I did. Captains Broiled Platter... Sounded good, looked good, and failed to meat even the most remote expectations. Shrimp, scallops, haddock, and lobster claw were all extremely overcooked. The haddock was so bland it required salt, pepper and tarter sauce to still remain dry and unimpressive. The grilled squash was cooked well, but again, needed seasoning. I think the worst was the lobster claws. When you crack open a shell and a dry rubbery piece of meat has shriveled to half its size that butter doesn't help, you know there is a problem. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Five stars for the location, the beauty of the establishment and the service. You really can't have a better location than this: on the Oswego Canal by the Oswego River and at the entrance of Lake Ontario. The restaurant takes advantage of this location by having a large outdoor seating area with an outdoor bar. Also the inside has lots of big windows all around so you can enjoy the view even when inside. The decor is pretty and sober. It is a very large restaurant. We sat at the indoor bar and our bartender, Lyndsay, was attentive and conversational even when busy. Note that the restaurant is attached to the Best Western Hotel. They have a full bar yet the wine menu is limited and common. The food menu looks interesting. As it was Friday we ordered the special, Prime Rib. It was cooked correctly but it lacked flavor even when dipped in the Au Jus and the horseradish sauce. It comes with a side salad which was a nice mix of mesclun and had a good dressing, I ordered it with balsamic vinaigrette. We ordered double side of vegetables instead of vegetables and mashed potatoes. The vegetables were steamed properly yet lacked flavor and presentation.

The Cellar Door is a popular restaurant in Oswego known for its diverse and flavorful menu. It offers a wide range of options including fresh salads, sandwiches, appetizers, burgers, truffle chips, berry lemonade, and dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant caters to various dietary preferences such as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. Additionally, it boasts an impressive selection of craft beers and wines. The cozy atmosphere with comfortable leather couches adds to the overall dining experience.
Love the atmosphere and comfy leather couches. Wonderful food aromas will draw you there and my fave is the Charcuterie Board. Knowledgeable professional staff, something new going on every night. Tasty brews, awesome atmosphere, great assortment of patrons from all walks—my fave place in Oz ❤️ Update: my review is a few years old and there have been changes in the food menu and hours, but the place is still great. Not for mobility impaired, though: long flight of stairs involved.

Phenomenal place. If you’re looking for a nice place to get some quality bar food with some top notch beer - this is your place. The garlic parmesan wings are delicious - they’re baked, but still nice and crispy. The best part about the entire place though is the staff! The manager, Terry, is the greatest guy - always takes awesome care of us when we go. If you’re in the market for a beverage in Oswego, look no further!

This was easily the best spot in Oswego. Even though that is a low bar (figuratively and literally), it was a nice spot. Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe they are out of business. :/

This place is amazing. I can't say enough good things about this place. The menu has a good number of sandwiches perfect for drinking beer. I tried the Ruben wrap. It was very tasty and not too filling. The sandwich and pint was about $12. The beers are displayed on a TV screen with all of the important information and the staff is very knowledgeable about each one. I'm very impressed how this place has grown. My favorite place for a beer and a sammich!

Oswego’s only brewery in the historic Woodruff Block Building is awesome! Great atmosphere, food and craft brew beer. Also love partnering with these guys for Oswego Expeditions Shoe& Brew Tours!

I like the laid back atmosphere. I never have trouble finding a beer I really like. I've only had the food one time, but it was very good. At times it's a little crowded for the small space, but it doesn't take long to get served. They're always friendly.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere and as it was my first time there tonight, the beers I tried were fantastic! So relaxing and a great way to end your day. The place was immaculate, very clean restrooms, all around hands down one of the best places to go for drinks in the city of Oswego!
