Families Beware — Disappointing Service and Confusing Communication
I was really disappointed by my experience with Pan Kled Villa Eco Hill Resort. Despite all the glowing reviews, their handling of our booking was frustrating and unprofessional.
After booking, I immediately clarified our group details (5 adults and 6 children) through Booking.com, so everything was transparent from the start. But the resort kept changing its explanation for unexpected “extra child” fees — first saying it was for extra beds, then because of the children’s ages, and finally calling it a breakfast fee. None of these conditions were stated anywhere on the Booking.com listing or in my booking confirmation.
After spending the whole morning messaging, emailing, and even calling to try to sort it out, the resort eventually sent me a cancellation request, saying they would waive all fees — essentially ending the booking rather than resolving the issue.
For a property with such high ratings, this was extremely disappointing. The lack of transparency, shifting explanations, and poor communication make it a stressful choice for families

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate your explanation, but I’d like to clarify that I was completely transparent about our group size immediately after booking and clearly outlined the number of adults and children in each room.
The issue was never about hiding guest numbers but about the inconsistent communication around additional charges. The explanation for the fee changed several times — first it was said to be for extra beds, then due to the children’s ages, and later described as a breakfast fee. None of these conditions were mentioned on your Booking.com listing at the time of booking
It also doesn’t seem reasonable that a Family Room, which is already priced higher to accommodate families, would then have an additional fee for a child sharing the existing bed with parents. Meanwhile, one of the Deluxe Rooms had only one adult and two children, which is within normal capacity. The only room where an extra charge might have made sense was the Deluxe with two adults and two children.
At no point did we refuse to pay — we simply said we’d settle any fair and accurate amount on arrival, as the cost would be shared between three families. I spent considerable time on calls and emails trying to clarify this, and ultimately, the cancellation was requested by the property, not by us.
While I appreciate that the fee was waived, the experience was unnecessarily confusing and disappointing — especially given the resort’s excellent reviews, which was why we were so looking forward to staying there. I hope this feedback helps improve transparency and communication for future guests.
