Nestled in the heart of Chiang Rai, Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, Thailand offers chic rooms and suites for a luxurious stay. The resort features a premium spa for indulgent massages and rejuvenating treatments. Guests can take advantage of the three-level outdoor pool with breathtaking views of the Mae Kok River. With its proximity to historic temples, hill tribe villages, and natural attractions like Phu Chi Fa, this resort is an ideal retreat for both relaxation and exploration.
Stayed 3 nights at the river view room. The hotel was exceed our expectations. Beautiful pool, spacious room with great view and well maintained gym. Highlight of the stay was the excellent & friendly service from the staffs especially at the breakfast! The breakfast was exceptional with good variety of healthy food option (fresh fruits & salads, local delights, good sourdough bread and coffee). I don’t normally like the buffet breakfast in big hotel as I find it a bit too much but really enjoyed it here.

Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort is a luxurious and serene riverside retreat located along the Kok River, just a short drive from the city center. The resort features 159 spacious rooms and suites, many with balconies overlooking the garden or river. Each room is thoughtfully designed with modern Thai touches, large bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers, and comfortable bedding that enhances the sense of relaxation. The atmosphere is peaceful, perfect for couples, families, or solo travelers looking for a quiet escape surrounded by nature. Facilities include a riverside swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and two main restaurants — Favola for Italian cuisine and Latest Recipe for international buffets. The breakfast buffet stands out for its excellent quality and wide variety, offering both Western and Asian selections. Guests particularly enjoy the tranquil ambiance and beautiful views throughout the property. Service at Le Méridien Chiang Rai is exceptional. Staff are consistently described as friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. They remember guests’ names, offer assistance proactively, and ensure a smooth stay from check-in to departure. Housekeeping also performs outstandingly — rooms are spotless, public areas are well-maintained, and evening turndown service adds a touch of luxury. The team is attentive to guests’ preferences, even adjusting cleaning times to suit personal schedules. Although the resort is slightly outside the city, its peaceful riverside location and world-class hospitality make it one of Chiang Rai’s finest destinations for rest and rejuvenation

Just stayed for a week after having been here 8 years ago and enjoyed it again. The resort itself is beautiful and well maintained. We had a large room tat was well equipped, well maintained and spacious with a beautiful balcony overlooking the gardens, pool and river. The location is a bit out of town, but a Grab costs 80THB and takes 10 min. We loved being a bit secluded. The one thing the hotel can improve on is their main restaurant, Latest Recipe: the breakfast and general food quality seemed low and we stopped having breakfast after trying once. Else, I would certainly recommend.
Nicolas C — Google review
This was one of our favorite stays. The room was large the bed was extremely comfortable and our balcony views were spectacular. The pool was the perfect temperature and also immaculate. A couple of restaurants on grounds and a breakfast buffet had tons of variety; you did t have to eat the same thing twice. The staff takes it over the top. Thailand is known as “land of smiles”, these employees put the teeth in that phrase. The friendliness and the efficiency of this staff is something to behold. We would give this property 12 out of 10!

I stayed one night in a Deluxe River View room during a weekday, and it was a lovely experience. The room was spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped with all the amenities you'd expect from a top-tier hotel. One of the highlights for me was the breakfast buffet — in my opinion, it’s among the best selections I've come across in Thailand. I also enjoyed a relaxing massage during my stay. The staff at the spa, Aom ออม, were skilled and very friendly, making the session a real treat. As a nice bonus, the hotel provided a complimentary 500 baht voucher, which could be used at their dining outlets, café, or spa — a thoughtful touch that added extra value to the stay.

Having been a Platinum Elite member for 15+ years, this is one of my favorite Marriott properties. Everything here just falls into place. It’s a beautiful location and property to start with, built around several centuries-old giant trees that invoke a sense of calm. There’s water flowing everywhere, and the pool with its riverfront location is exactly what you need as a traveler to hang out and relax. Oh, and you might get one of the signature Margherita Pizzas from the delicious Italian restaurant right next to the pool. Service is warm, friendly and forthcoming wherever you go on the property. We have received countless travel tips just by chatting to different staff members. Breakfast was excellent, which I rarely say about a hotel in these days. I love how they incorporate local elements like daily changing “Nam Prik” relishes served with charcoal-grilled (wow!) meats and Sai Oua sausage. They even brought mountain rice from the hill tribes and serve it alongside - a must try. Eggs and vegetables are from local organic farms - a huge plus and above and beyond many other hotels. To me, this is the perfect stay in Chiang Rai to explore the area. No need to go to one of the hyper-expensive Golden Triangle “tented camp” resorts - here you’ll find everything you need plus a central location to explore.
Markus D — Google review
- Room is relaxing and very spacious - Air con. and water current worked very well - Bed and pillow were nice - Room and bath's amenities were also good and fully set up - The resort is full of evergreen tree, giving a very relaxing and refreshing atmosphere - The vibe in the resort was calm, peaceful and restful - Breakfast was sufficiently various and tasted good - All outlets gave a good mood for dining - Foods at the riverside Italian restaurant were nice - Staffs were hospitable, lively and attentive (front desk / concierge / F&B) - Massage was also relaxing Points to note: - Overall cleanliness can be slightly improved (especially spider webs in public area) - As the resort is very close to the nature, be mindful of disturbance and bite from insects and bugs - No hand shower & rain shower in either a shower box or bathtub - The hot water seemed unstable. Its temperature was in loop i.e. properly warm (a while) > cool (few seconds) > hot (few seconds) > properly warm (a while) > cool (few seconds) > hot (few seconds) > ...

My wife and I arrived late to the hotel one night as part of a group tour. It’s a sprawling complex that was revealed the next morning to be quite pretty. Our room was spacious and comfortable. However, we made the mistake of eating in the hotel’s restaurant, we were the only customers that night. Half the items on the menu were unavailable. What we finally ordered, when served looked like and tasted like it had been precooked and microwaved. This was our WORST dinner on a 4 week trip through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. It was also the most expensive dinner in Southeast Asia costing over 3x what a similar dinner would cost at local restaurant. The Marriot chain should be ashamed for their poor performance in the kitchen that night. Fortunately the beer was cold. The buffet breakfast the next morning in the same dining room was very good.

The Legend Chiang Rai Boutique River Resort and Spa is an upscale hotel with a grand contemporary Thai Lanna style, located along the Mae Kok River in Northern Thailand. The resort offers panoramic views of lush green valleys, mountain lakes, and forest-covered hills. Guests can enjoy privacy and serenity in the majestic villas and suites, some of which are conveniently located near the pool and lobby area while others are nestled along the beautiful hillside surrounded by extensive landscaping.
This was our second stay at The Legend Chiang Rai, and once again, it exceeded expectations. The rooms are spacious, exceptionally comfortable, and furnished to a high standard — especially the bed and pillows, which ensure a restful night’s sleep. The resort offers a serene and tranquil atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax and recharge. One of the highlights is the swimming pool, which boasts stunning views of the Mekong River — a truly picturesque setting. Mr. Eric, the General Manager, is a standout. His extensive experience in Thailand’s hospitality industry is evident in the thoughtful touches and seamless service throughout the resort. His leadership is reflected in the attention to detail that truly elevates the guest experience. The buffet breakfast is excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes and snacks, complemented by high-quality coffee and tea. The on-site Italian restaurant is also noteworthy — the pizzas, in particular, are outstanding. The staff deserve special mention for their professionalism, helpfulness, and warm hospitality. Their dedication contributes significantly to the welcoming and comfortable atmosphere of the resort. In summary, The Legend Chiang Rai remains an outstanding choice for anyone visiting the region — combining comfort, excellent service, and a peaceful environment into one memorable experience.

UPDATE: thank you all, for the thoughtful and memorable birthday singing and celebration 🥳 🎉 🎂 From the moment I stepped out of the car and onto the premises of The Legend Chiang Rai Boutique River Resort and Spa (เดอะเลเจนด์ เชียงราย บูทิค ริเวอร์ รีสอร์ท แอนด์ สปา) located a short drive from Chiang Rai International Airport, I felt an immediate sense of warmth and welcome. The staff's attention to detail is truly remarkable, making you feel valued from the very start. The completely unexpected room upgrade was such a wonderful bonus for my birthday celebration! It's a fantastic place to stay! The location is perfect – close to the airport and surrounded by beautiful nature, including a lovely river, creating a sense of calm and tranquility that's hard to find. The serene surroundings combined with the delightful morning breakfast made this an experience of a lifetime. A special thanks to Miss Suphin and her amazing team, including the gentleman who gave the vibe that he was the partner / owner of this wonderful place. I think his name is Eric. Your team has been superb in your hospitality standards and helping me feel welcomed ❤️ Thank you all Great meeting you Maria and Gail! Wishing you both all the very best in your life and work!! Lastly, certainly not least, I'm honoured to have met you, brother Stefan, and can see God's hand at work during our meeting. My best birthday gift , is not one that's tangeable here (Hebrews 11: 1-3) A truly exceptional and highly recommended experience!

We have had such a wonderful stay at The Legend. The staff have all been so kind, helpful and smiley. We stayed in one of the One Bedroom Pool Villa and had a complimentary plate of fruit. The room overlooked the Kok River. Our bedroom had an amazing view as we overlooked the garden and Kok river, it was absolutely beautiful. The room had a small kitchen, a sitting room with windows that also overlooked the garden and the river. The pool was lovely and a wonderful place to relax. There are bathrooms with shower facilities. We had breakfast included and the only negative is that it becomes repetitive therefore a few different items each day would be better. The grounds are pretty. We hired a scooter and it's about 10 minutes scooter ride into the main road in town. We'd definitely stay here again

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After a long 14-hour drive we arrived to a very warm welcome. The room was spotless, well designed, and surrounded by a beautiful Bali-like garden. Breakfast was excellent — homemade yogurt, salad, fruits, and whole wheat bread perfect for vegetarians, with plenty for non-vegetarians too. The manager personally greeted guests at breakfast and in the evening, which made us feel truly cared for. Highly recommended!
Art O — Google review
Absolutely delightful stay here. Big and clean rooms, good breakfast, amazing hotel cat named "Madame" that seems to have the run of the place. The manager Eric was very helpful and attentive. Can walk into the 'action' in about 25 minutes if that's your thing, or you can opt for a 60-70 baht taxi. We came on our honeymoon and there was a lovely swan arrangement on our bed.
Brian D — Google review
Had to attend to some family matters and stayed here for a couple of days. Located on the river, with lovely beautiful trees all around. The hotel is centrally located so getting into town to go visit walking street, or trying one of the many restaurants is easy and convenient. Rooms at the hotel are well maintained and tastefully decorated, which added to the stay and made hanging around our riverside room even more appealing. If you want to give going out to eat a miss, the dining options at La Casa shouldn’t be missed, we had a very enjoyable and reasonably priced meal there. Cannot fault the service we received during our stay, everyone was super friendly and helpful. It’s not 5 stars but what they do they do very very well!
Jakra S — Google review
We had a fantastic stay at The Legend Chiang Rai! The rooms were huge, beautifully comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a busy day. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after, and the food was absolutely fantastic. We visited as a group of three families and had such an amazing time — everything from the service to the atmosphere made it a great stay. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!
Nicola C — Google review
We stayed two nights to get a little break from backpacking. The room was big with a little terrace overlooking the garden and invited to rest. The pool was also beautiful right next to the river and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nak Nakara Hotel is a charming and well-located boutique hotel in Amphoe Mueang Chiang Rai, just a short drive from the famous Wat Rong Khun. The hotel offers a mix of modern and traditional Lanna style rooms with spacious bathrooms and wooden furniture. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a swimming pool, massage services, and a breakfast buffet. The staff are highly praised for their excellent service and are willing to assist with arranging tours to nearby attractions.
This hotel is located at a prime location & all the attractions are at a walkable distance. Kudos to front desk staff who welcome you with a genuine smile & is always ready to help! We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 kids in a family room & everything was as per our expectations. Clean & comfy beds, hygienic washrooms, complimentary fruits & cold water, swimming pool really helped to relax. Breakfast at their restaurant was also apt & they had live pancakes & eggs counter. Overall good one- highly recommended for their service 👍🏻
Priyanca N — Google review
Terrible experience! We had to cancel our booking more than 24 hours in advance due to serious health issues that made it impossible for us to take our flight to Northern Thailand. We contacted the hotel as soon as we knew we couldn’t make it, explained the situation clearly, and asked if any form of refund, even partial, could be considered. To our shock, the hotel showed absolutely no flexibility or understanding. They refused any kind of refund or gesture of goodwill. No compassion, no customer care – just a flat-out “no” on the booking platform. It’s incredibly disappointing, especially given the circumstances, and speaks volumes about their lack of empathy. There are plenty of places in Thailand that are much more human and accommodating. I strongly advise staying elsewhere. This kind of rigid, uncaring attitude has no place in the hospitality industry. Avoid this hotel.
Clara A — Google review
We have been in this hotel for 2 night and has been a great experience from the check in to the check out. The structure is a bit dated but still in good condition. They offer included cold water and fruits always available the hall plus some soft drink in the room' s fridge. The breakfast is varied and tasty. The room is big and with all the confort. The swimming pool is huge and beautiful! But best of all is the service:genuine, simple and professional. We had our anniversary during the stay and they have helped us to spoil each others with flowers and gifts, then spoiled us with a dessert specially made for us. We had great time here and we would love to come back one day!
Stefano N — Google review
The hotel has a great location, a fantastic pool and a lovely crew. They guided me for all the questions I had. In addition, they offered different packages for visiting the temples in a private car. I did it, and it was worth it, as the temples are far from each other. The hotel also has free bikes for the guest. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was perfect. They also give you daily glass bottle water in the room, and there is tea and water always available in the bar close to the pool. Having the pool for a swim before sleeping and after exploring during the day is a great plus!

Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Great location near Saturday walking street, not far from the new clock and the night market.

Fabulous, Excelent service, Great breakfast, wonderful and helpful staff. Tours and taxi services they offer are less than what you find online. Tucked away in the heart of Chiang Rai is this hotel gem, Nak Nakara. This unique hotel has a blend of local old style architecture with all the conveniences of a modern hotel. Beautiful on the outside and very comfortable on the inside. The staff; what an exceptional group, taking care of all your needs from the minute you get there until the minute you leave. The breakfast; a large variety of dishes available you won't be disappointed.
Irving D — Google review
The hotel was really nice. The staff were helpful and our room was big and spacious. The pool is in a good location had plenty of sunbeds around it and had a poolside bar with snacks. We had a mini bar with free soft drinks in our room, free water and fruit in reception. We used bolt to get to the local attractions and it was reasonably priced. The hotel offered us a package with a private driver as soon as we arrived, which was more expensive than organising ourselves, but we were happy to do the planning. Upstairs there was a fitness suite and billiards room which we didn’t check out. The location was about a 10 minute walk from the clocktower and a 15 minute walk from the bus station. We visited the night market which was 10 to 15 minute walk we ate there which was lovely and they had many stalls.

We had a fabulous stay. The hotel's team is the kindest, warmest and most helpful I have ever met. The hotel is so beautiful, the pool is stunning, and I highly recommend getting a Thaï massage at their spa, it was fantastic. So grateful for the entire experience, thank you!

Really lovely place with very kind and attentive staff. They think about all the extra little details like having robes, a coffee machine and always restocking glass water bottles in your room. They serve you complimentary fresh fruits while you relax by the pool. The cocktails (and the view) on the roof were great and always served with flowers and a little snack. The breakfast was also very good with a buffet plus made to order eggs/meals and coffee. I loved the classy black and white interior with 4 poster bed and freestanding bathtub. We even borrowed their free bikes. And they let us leave our bag when we went away for a night. We stayed 3 nights and were very comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.

I don't quite know where to start. The stay at this hotel was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived till checking out, everything was incredible. This is a beautiful hotel, but the real superstar factor is every employee that works here. So helpful, attentive, friendly, consistently going above and beyond. Swimming pool, breakfast, spa facilities, room, architecture; they are all great. Words that I am writing in this review, simply do not do justice for how great every staff member is here. Thank you for making this such a pleasant experience. I know that our experience at this hotel wasn't a one off. If you are visiting Chiang Rai, you have to stay at this hotel. Thank you again. Ross

I had a wonderful stay at the Mora Boutique Hotel. The service was outstanding from the very beginning – my luggage was brought to the room, and a lovely lady accompanied me, showing and explaining everything in detail. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated – you can really feel the love and attention to detail in every corner. Even small things, like the way coffee was served in the morning, were done with such care. Breakfast was excellent, offering both a nice buffet and several à la carte options, all freshly prepared. The value for money was also great. I can highly recommend the Mora Boutique Hotel and would definitely stay again.

Spent two nights there during our Thailand trip. Must say it was an amazing experience! The staff is so extremely welcoming and caring. For example we got several complimentary snacks when taking a swim in the pool or having a drink on the rooftop terrace. The hotel itself is super quiet, very well maintained and extremely clean. Would come back anytime again!

The Riverie by Katathani in Chiang Rai is an upscale riverside hotel offering a luxurious experience. The 5-star resort features three restaurants, a full-service spa, an outdoor pool with a swim-up bar, and various recreational facilities including a waterslide and spa tub. Situated on an island in the middle of the Kok River, the hotel provides classic and bright rooms with contemporary designs symbolizing wealth and prosperity.
It's an awesome Resort to spend your time with kids. The Pool and water splash/play area made my kids excited. Even a few weeks after vacation my kids keep talking about the fun they had there. The riverside walking is apt for an evening romantic stroll with your partner and kids too. There is a separate kids play area as well. The food was awesome. Overall it was a memorable stay for our family.
Senthil P — Google review
The building is old but very well maintained. The amenities are also top-notch! We were traveling with 2 young kids, and the kids play area kept them entertained for hours, just like the pool and kids aqua play zone. The rooftop bar also had great food and views! Will return again!
Travis J — Google review
Fur coat no knickers - hotel is impressive upon approach but disappointing inside. The restaurant is soulless and feels like a school canteen. All the furnishings feels hard and cheap, the rooms are poorly insulated from noise and feel bare. The outside pool and communal areas seem heavily tailored to kids which is fine but there's not where quiet or luxurious if you want to sit and relax. Not sure how this warrants the Google rating or five stars, we regret not staying somewhere more boutique.

The Riverie by Katathani is a wholesome experience which always you craving for more Visiting the city of Chiang Rai is a gift in itself and staying at The Riverie by Katathani is like a cherry on the cake itself Nestled in a very peaceful area right next to Rive Kok, the hotel offers you a great mix of things which you will always cherish in the future Designed mainly for families (but single travelers can also equally enjoy it), The Riverie by Katathani offer a great combo of family experience including children pool area, a tremendous water park, soft area for kids, jumping castle and much more. The most scenic thing is its location right next to the river which is the ultimate experience for nature and peace-seeking individuals. POSITIVES (+) Staff is extremely nice and friendly with being always there to extend assistance as and whenever required. From the nice old man who welcomes you at the main gate to concierge, everyone is there to offer you a warm welcom (+) Location is exquisite as it is near to Night market (8 mins drive), walking distance to nearby restaurants like Hungry Wolf and 15 mins drive to the airport (+) The breakfast is amazing with a wide range of continental and western cuisine. The restaurant for breakfast has outdoor seating available which is highly recommended due to the beautiful scene of the river and green pastuers (+) Many of the people stay there might not know that there is a 2km long walking track right next to the hotel. This track runs parallel to the river, offering joggers and walkers an amazing mix of views and energy. I went on a walk early morning to this track and was the most amazing experience of my stay (+) The lobby bar is available with all drink options with a courteous staff. Live singing adds another excellent angle to the overall experience (+) Water park, jumping castle, kids pool, soft playing area are just fantastic plus points to this place. They make parents glee with joy as the kids go for a splash and enjoy the stay (+) Every thing inside is cozy and conveniently located - from washrooms everywhere to stairs / elevators - bridges leading to walking track to serene & clean walkway to the main road NEGATIVES (-) The bar at the pool seemed mostly quiet with no staff around. I wanted to order drinks and snacks for the family but wasn't able to find anyone around it (-) The inside of the hotel looks epic but the same cannot be said about the outside of the hotel building. Maybe some renovation work can be done to improve the external facade of the building to match its interior side Overall - highly recommended and I would definitely like to stay here again in future RATING: 9 / 10

Wonderful Stay with Exceptional Hospitality! Stayed just one night at this hotel and was truly impressed. The hospitality was amazing from check-in to check-out. The rooms were incredibly spacious, and the bed was even bigger than a king size – easily comfortable for 4 people! The hotel offers great facilities including multiple swimming pools, a minimart, and more. Breakfast had so many options one of the best hotel, had so many varieties. Perfect for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Highly recommended!

🌟 The Riverie by Katathani — A Magical Stay in Chiang Rai 🌟 I stayed at The Riverie by Katathani and it was an absolutely beautiful experience from start to finish. The property is stunning — surrounded by nature and offering peaceful river views that make you instantly feel relaxed. The staff were so kind, polite, and always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms were spacious, clean, and elegantly designed, offering comfort and luxury in every detail. The breakfast spread was amazing, with plenty of delicious options to start the day right. The hotel’s garden, pool area, and riverside location are truly breathtaking — perfect for photos and evening walks. It’s the kind of place where you feel both pampered and at peace. Highly recommend The Riverie by Katathani to anyone visiting Chiang Rai — it’s a perfect blend of Thai hospitality, luxury, and serenity. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely beautiful from check in to check out. The whiole experience was so enjoyable. Staff were all amazing. The breakfast was incredible, so many choices. The grounds and surrounds were immaculate. What a perfect location on the river and away from the hustle and bustle. While it isn't for the budget conscious, it was worth every dollar. I can't fault this hotel. Thank you so much for a wonderful 3 night stay.

Very nice hotel, very clean and the staff are very friendly and nice here. It is my second time staying here and probably won't be the last. The only reason I haven't given it a 5 star is the breakfast selection isn't the best for me but that is just a personal preference rather than the hotel I guess

The Grand Vista Hotel is a newly built 4-star hotel in Amphoe Mueang Chiang Rai, just 2.24km from the city center. The hotel offers understated quarters with modern Lanna decoration and amenities such as free WiFi, in-room safe deposit box, and LCD TV. Guests can also enjoy the outdoor salted pool and gym facilities.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Vista Hotel, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was struck by the hotel's grandeur and elegance. The staff were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The amenities were top-notch, with a fantastic gym, a relaxing spa, and an incredible breakfast spread. The hotel's location was also perfect, with easy access to local attractions and public transportation. What truly sets the Grand Vista Hotel apart, however, is its exceptional service. From the friendly front desk staff to the attentive housekeeping team, every interaction was characterized by warmth, kindness, and a genuine commitment to excellence. If you're looking for a hotel that truly understands the meaning of hospitality, look no further than the Grand Vista Hotel. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious, memorable, and truly exceptional stay. *Highlights:* - Stunning views and elegant decor - Exceptional staff and service - Top-notch amenities, including gym, spa, and breakfast - Perfect location with easy access to local attractions

One of my favorite hotels in Thailand. Placed in one of the main avenues in Chiang Rai, giving quick access to both the airport and the center (clock tower). The hotel is unpretentious, comfortable, and we'll equipped, including a swimming pool that can be directly accessible from some of the room's (I've stayed in one of those before). Our room, this time around, was huge very comfortable and with all possible amenities, including both shower and bath tub, king size bed, etc. Breakfast is among the best I've had in Thailand. Food is homey and there's soup and egg stations. Although the choice isn't as big as in other hotels, in any particular day, it varies enough from day to day that I never got bored of some particular food even in multiple day stays. The staff is kind and attentive to your needs. The view is nothing special anywhere you stay in the hotel, but for a base place to discover Chiang Rai and it's surroundings it seems ideal.
Emanuel M — Google review
Even though the location is nice, the room and facilities are shabby. The staff could not help much when it comes to noisy neighbors, however, we can understand that this kind of situation is not under their control. Breakfast buffet is okay, the hotel provides variety of food with a proper quality.

What a lovely hotel and I recommend the room upgrade as it was super value and the breakfast was lovely also the location is very convenient just use grab taxi and everything can be reached easily and quickly

One of the best hotels in Chiang Rai. Rooms are very clean and the staffs are very friendly. I had to check out early in the morning for flight they even arranged breakfast for me in box. I stayed there for two nights, Have two shopping malls near by for shopping and also everyday the hotel arranges free shuttle to the nearby night market and food street to explore the city.
ASHBEL J — Google review
This is located on National Highway 1, and has spacious rooms. The restaurant is good, with quite a few options during breakfast, including vegetarian options on request (शाकाहारी भोजन उपलब्ध है, रेस्टोरेंट मैनेजर को बोलें)। The choice of dishes in the breakfast buffet is not great, but adequate. There is a complimentary shuttle to the city center (main bus stop), from where you can go shopping, enjoy the night market, visit Accha Indian restaurant or just enjoy some window shopping. It leaves the hotel at 7 PM and starts back at 9 PM. Service carts stacked next to the room's door was an issue. Needs to be sorted by the management.
Devendra M — Google review
The room is quite big. You can take advantage of the two major shopping malls that are within walking distance of the hotel. Central Mall is located across the road, and Big C is just a few blocks away, allowing you to perform your daily tasks easily. Although the room I stayed in was not spotless, it was still comfortable enough for a night's rest, but may not be suitable for long-term stays. The toilet blind, located near the shower area, was quite dirty. However, the staff service was excellent, and the breakfast, although not very diverse, was adequate for a simple meal. If you are driving, you can enjoy free parking right in front of the hotel.
Cedric C — Google review
Stayed for a couple of nights while in Chiang Rai and I have to say this is our favourite hotel in all of Thailand. The staff are incredibly nice - top notch customer service, especially from Mr. "A". The location is also close to the Central Mall, which is a huge plus as we were able to grab a few necessities on this trip. Since a lot of the main attractions are spread out throughout Chiang Rai, we thought we'd give this place a try despite being outside the "downtown core". Worth it in my opinion!

Imperial River House Resort is an upscale hotel located on the northern bank of the River Kok, offering casual rooms with hardwood floors and daybeds. The resort provides a serene retreat with luxurious rooms that overlook the river or outdoor swimming pool. Guests can enjoy the large outdoor swimming pool, spa pool, and well-equipped fitness center. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of the free evening shuttle to explore Chiang Rai's Night Bazaar and nearby attractions such as Wat Rong Suea Ten.
For $3(80-100b) you can get a taxis to the city. Large and clean rooms, wonderful bathroom with good water pressure and hot water. Central AC system to keep the room the perfect temp. Amazing breakfast, with the nicest and most helpful staff. The pool is very clean, and the pool towels are in the gym. The water is a bit cold, but on a hot day is perfect. Only downside, and i mean only downside... the bed was very hard.
Dan R — Google review
The hotel was clean and tidy. The room was big enough to lounge around in if you didn't want to go out for the day. We had a choice of two types of shower in the cubicle and one in the bath. The room was cleaned on a daily basis and the staff were very polite and helpful. The blue temple is situated just outside the entrance and there are many places to eat and drink nearby. It costs about £3 for a taxi into town or if you're adventurous it takes about 45mins to walk there. We stayed for four nights and enjoyed our stay with breakfast included and the option of using the beautiful pool or gym. We would definitely stay here again.
Philip C — Google review
A very enjoyable stay in this this traditional hotel, close to the blue temple. Spacious room and lovely grounds. There is a huge pool overlooking the river Kok, with several loungers. Enjoyable breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river. Free bicycles available, which we used to cycle along a lovely river cycle path to a flower festival. Excellent value and highly recommended.

Beautiful, cozy, quiet hotel, big and clean rooms, everything works well. The swimming pool is amazing. Friendly service. Great value.
Eleonora A — Google review
This hotel is really close to the blue temple, but otherwise it's a bit secluded which can be a good thing if that's what you're looking for. The room was very spacious and had lots of sitting areas. The grounds are also beautiful and well-kept. Weirdly, I had to crawl under furniture to access power outlets in my room. The doors also required actively locking them, which I forgot a few times because I am used to hotel doors that lock automatically.
Kat P — Google review
The rooms great, large with A/C. They put us in a smaller building unattached which did make it harder to order food but that wasn't a problem. They offer towels and bicycles at the front lobby which is great. Most the staff was extremely helpful and kind. We had the maids come by to clean our rooms and they took a plastic bag with our umbrellas in them. (They must have thought it was a bag full of trash????) But then we told them and asked to use umbrellas and they were reluctant to let us borrow the hotel umbrellas. They didn't reimburse us for our stolen property and wanted the umbrellas back after use. Otherwise the stay was great, the location is too far from most things so make sure to have a motorbike rented.

Lovely riverside pool and outdoors garden area with peaceful ambience ! Quiet ! Very relaxing . Enjoyed our time swimming … pool was big, clean, well maintained.

Laluna Resort in Chiang Rai is a true hidden gem, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush greenery. The moment you step into the resort, you’re welcomed by a beautifully landscaped tropical garden that creates a tranquil and refreshing atmosphere—perfect for relaxation. The entire setting feels like a private oasis, with well-maintained pathways leading to charming bungalows that provide both comfort and privacy. One of the highlights of our stay was the on-site restaurant, which offers a good selection of both local and Western cuisine. Whether you're in the mood for authentic Thai dishes or a hearty international meal, there’s something for everyone. The Australian steaks were juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Beyond the wonderful setting , the staff at Laluna Resort made our stay comfortable. If you’re looking for a relaxing stay in Chiang Rai with good food and a serene environment, Laluna Resort is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

Really nice hotel and gardens beautifully taken care . Rooms were spacious, cleaned and comfortable . The pool is beautiful and towels are picked up there. Squirrels can be found around the property, but also some biting ants . Breakfast had a good variety on food and a cooker was there to prepare a fresh omelete/scrambled eggs.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was completely amazed. The lobby is stunning, with an elegant, luxurious atmosphere, and the service is extremely professional, attentive, and always willing to help. The path to the rooms is surrounded by beautiful gardens, palm trees, and lush vegetation, creating a peaceful and relaxing environment from the very first moment. The pool is spacious and well-maintained, perfect for cooling off and enjoying the views after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are large, comfortable, and well-equipped, offering everything you need for a pleasant stay. The breakfast is very varied, with both local and international options, perfect for starting the day energized. The hotel’s location is excellent, just a short walk from the center of Chiang Rai, making it easy to explore temples, markets, and restaurants. Without a doubt, this has been one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at, combining comfort, understated luxury, and impeccable service. I will definitely return.

Loved the stay, very beautiful landscaping and warm welcoming staff. As as Indian, found the food options to be limited but otherwise everything is very nice. The swimming pool is very good. The resort doesn’t have laundry and ironing service. There’s a shop right across the street but operating hours are limited. Look for the cute cat that roams around, he is very friendly.

Hotel
The Heritage Chiang Rai Hotel and Convention - SHA Extra Plus is a luxurious hotel located in Chiang Rai, just a short distance from Central Plaza ChiangRai. This 5-star hotel offers elegant accommodations with the option of kitchenettes, an outdoor pool, fitness center, and free WiFi. With 321 guest rooms and suites, it seamlessly blends art with modern comfort while showcasing the vibrant Lanna culture.
The hotel makes a striking impression with its grand architecture, though it clearly shows its age. The entrance and lobby are luxurious and well-maintained, offering a warm welcome. However, signs of wear become noticeable as soon as you reach the guest floors—aged corridors and old-fashioned doors hint at the building’s long history. The bathrooms, while functional, could use some attention; traces of mold in the shower corners detract from the overall experience. Fortunately, the rooms themselves are spacious and inviting. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, with soft, silky sheets and plush pillows that wrap you in coziness. The TV offers a good selection of international channels, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is a highlight, served in a large, well-kept dining hall with a generous and varied buffet. The food is plentiful and delicious, catering to many tastes. Staff throughout the hotel are professional and courteous, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. Another feature I truly appreciated was the spacious and well-equipped fitness room. It’s perfect for keeping up with your workout routine while traveling, with a good range of machines and equipment. The location is another plus—within walking distance of Central Plaza shopping mall, making it convenient for dining and shopping. The large outdoor pool is a great feature, complete with towels and fun amenities for children. Just be cautious: the wet tiles around the pool can be extremely slippery.

This place has a great value. It's very affordable. The breakfast is amazing, very varied and delicious. The gym has everything you'll need. The pool is well maintained and very spacious. The beds are one of the best I've seen in Thailand. The staff speaks good english and is very polite and helpful. The rooms are very clean but smell a bit "old". You can see the hotel is a little aged but that didn't bother me.
Ruud K — Google review
I remember the old hotel, then called Little Duck. The remodel is fabulous. The trees and plants are very old growth. Absolutely beautiful. There is even a jogging track through the trees. Your in walking distance to Central Mall, another lovely facility. The staff are wonderful. Then again, Northern Thais are unique and still have the kindest hearts.
Shane C — Google review
I recently stayed at The Heritage Chiang Rai Hotel and Convention in Chiang Rai, and my first impression was a genuine “wow!” This place is an absolute steal for the price—luxury that punches way above its weight. From the moment we arrived, the experience was fantastic. The lovely receptionist was a highlight—super friendly and even upgraded our room for free! The upgraded suite was incredible. It had two bathrooms (so spacious!), a cozy lounge area, a microwave, a big fridge, a huge closet, a dining table, two desks (both with mirrors, which was a nice touch), two TVs, and a super comfortable king-size bed. Everything felt clean, modern, and well thought out, blending that contemporary vibe with subtle nods to local heritage. The saltwater pool was another standout—sparkling clean and beautifully maintained, with a sun terrace and lush gardens around it for that perfect relaxing dip after exploring spots like the White Temple or Clock Tower (both super close by). The overall vibe of the hotel is welcoming and serene, yet buzzing with energy from the convention spaces if you’re into that. The value for money is unbeatable. I’d highly recommend The Heritage Chiang Rai to anyone visiting northern Thailand—you’re getting way more than what you pay for!

I had a wonderful stay at The Heritage Hotel in Chiang Rai. The hotel is very good, with a pleasant ambience that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. The staff are extremely polite and friendly, and I especially appreciate the kindness and professionalism of the manager. Meeting such warm and welcoming people gives you a sense of safety and peace of mind — something truly valuable, especially when you're in another country. It’s a great feeling to feel at home even when you’re far away. Highly recommended!
Supriya A — Google review
The hotel meets all expectations. The hotel is incredibly clean. From the front lobby to the rooms, you'll always find a well-maintained property. While at the hotel, I spent time in the "library," where I ordered a mango smoothie and got some work done, the pool, the gym, the dining area, the walking path in the front of the hotel, and my room. In terms of food, the breakfast offered a variety of food, mostly Thai, lots of fruit and breads, various juices, some Western morning food, and eggs to order. We also ate dinner at the hotel and ordered room service. It was excellent! The best aspect of the hotel were the staff. It's clear the majority of the staff enjoy their jobs, enjoy working together, and enjoy serving guests. They are acutely aware of the guest needs. I would most certainly stay here again.

- Excellent location, everything is a few minute walk from the hotel - staff is friendly, especially this young lady at the reception. Forgot to ask for her name, but she was lovely. Rooms are specious, comfy bed and great shower !! - the breakfast are awesome - not the buffet, that's on a weaker side, but it's great that they allow you to order from their regular breakfast menu too. Big thumbs up ! - rooms were clean, the cleaning ladies always did a great job - beautiful spaces !! Plants and birds singing all the way it was so lovely. - gray stay thank you !

The wife and I loved this place. Beautiful classic hotel with a 1960’s minimalist design. Perfect location in the city with plenty of restaurants, street food stalls, bars, shops, stores, massage places, nail / spa places, and temples close by. You can easily walk to the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar and the Walking Street area (where they have live music, delicious food, and shopping stalls every Saturday). The staff was very friendly and attentive. Thai customer service buries most in the US. Excluding Chivit Thamma Da (which is a must in Chiang Rai), the Western food in the Sooknirund restaurant was just as good as any other place we visited in town, including Surf & Turf (which was solid). It was much better than Ribs and Co among others imo. I liked their Thai food, but my Thai wife preferred several other places in town. Super clean and well maintained property. The lobby area, the lobby bathroom, the library, the restaurant, and our room were all spotless. Good water pressure and temperature control. They have a couple of bikes you can ride around town, though we preferred walking everywhere. We will definitely consider Sooknirund on return visits to Chiang Rai.

Fabulous hotel, one of the best we have stayed at in Thailand. All the little extras you receive and the staff treat you like family or royalty. We even got free snacks each day, it felt like a 6 star hotel. Rooms were so comfortable, I could have moved in for a month it was so good. Thank you 🙏🏽

We stayed here in July, rainy season as it´s peak, but we didn’t let that stop us. This hotel is excellent in every way, good room, nice balcony, awesome breakfast, staff more than attentive and the location perfect for main attractions. Will definitely be back ! Thanks ☔️

We spent 3 weeks in Thailand and Le Patta was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at and 100% recommend to everyone. The hotel is 4 stars however we definitely felt the 5-star treatment here. At check-in there was a bell hopper that took our bags to our room for us while we checked in. There is a break out room next to reception that has free sandwiches, fruit, snacks and coffee/tea for all guests. There is also coin operated washing machines and driers next to the break out room. You can exchange coins at reception and they give you laundry pods to use. The pool area is beautiful, extremely clean and quiet. The room itself is as per images shown on their website. Clean and tidy, with towels and water provided daily. The bathroom is also very large and modern which we loved. You also have free access to everything in the mini bar and free daily replenish too. We had daily breakfast included which was at the restaurant right next to the reception. The staff are so lovely and kind. Our room was turned down everyday which is something you only usually experience in a 5-star hotel. The location is perfect, the night markets are just around the corner, 7 minute walk Max. Definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. Felt more like a 5-star hotel.

Amazing hotel with very helpful staff, located just in the heart of Chiang Rai. The room was comfortable, equipped with everything you might need, a free of charge minibar included. The lounge with coffee and snacks was a nice touch. Don't miss the breakfast, it is tasty and plentiful!

What can I say about this place? It's probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff were so incredibly friendly, the rooms were amazing, there were free snacks and a small mini bar that can be refilled for free, and a communal area with free snacks like sandwiches, fruit and coffee. When we left to go to the bus station, they took us there with our case without us asking and for no extra cost.

We always look at google reviews for hotels before we book them. We thought we could sacrifice a little luxury in Chiang Rai and save some money. This hotel was considered a 4 star hotel when we booked it. It had almost 1,000 google reviews at 4.6 stars. It had a pool, breakfast and a laundry area, so it fit our criteria. This is one of the BEST 4 star hotels we’ve ever stayed at! Krystal got injured during our adventure at the Chiang Rai Lantern festival. The desk staff Immediately called her a cab to hospital when we got back to the hotel. Their service at this hotel is 5 stars! They open the doors for you, they listen to you, everything you want is addressed. They were so helpful we decided to let them provide a planned tour for us, ten hours, hotel pick-up and drop off included, buffet lunch, and tour guide for $37 ea. You read that right! Yes, we have stayed in more luxurious hotels. But this one is UNDERRATED at 4.6 stars. Cleanliness, daily breakfast quality, pool, oh - did I mention free espresso, sandwiches, snacks, etc. anytime day or night? Yes! And no one can beat the service at Le Patta Hotel. You will not regret booking a stay here. I don’t think I have ever reviewed a hotel that’s getting 4.6 stars and called it underrated, but I am now. The staff here is a hidden gem in Chiang Rai, and all they do is help. Stay here.

A perfect find in lovely Chiang Rai. Beautiful hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms, so many free snacks, drinks, sandwiches and quite possibly the nicest staff of anywhere I've stayed in the world. The self-service laundry room was ideal to launder our whole suitcase full of clothes before we left and reasonably priced, with the hotel changing notes for 10 baht coins to use in the machines. Highly recommend, would love to return to Chiang Rai one day just for the delight of staying at this hotel. Absolutely made our trip to SE Asia unforgettable.

Riva Vista Riverfront Chiangrai is a newly built boutique hotel located on the river bank, offering a nice view. Although it may get noisy during the day due to cruise ships, it's quiet at night. The spacious and clean rooms are equipped with modern amenities, including round bath tubs resembling jacuzzis. The hotel provides free bicycles for guests' convenience and is just a 5-minute walk from the Blue Temple.
Riva Vista embodies the essence of what a 4-star hotel should be. Although my stay was brief — just from 8:30 PM to 9:00 AM the following morning — every detail was flawless. The hotel is modern, offering an elegant atmosphere with impeccable service. The staff is attentive and eager to help, always offering a warm smile and making you feel genuinely welcomed. The Thai cuisine served here was exceptional, showcasing authentic flavors that are often hard to find, even in some 5-star luxury hotels. The setting is nothing short of perfect: beautiful and serene, with calm and inviting outdoor spaces. The rooms are contemporary, well-equipped, and extraordinarily comfortable — offering everything needed for a restful and peaceful stay. On top of all this, I asked the hotel to arrange an authentic trek, far from the crowds. Though this is a separate experience, they exceeded my expectations, providing an excellent guide for a truly unique adventure.

Riva Vista is a lovely riverside hotel in Chiang Rai. The rooms are well-designed — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated. 🌿🛏️ However, I did experience some noise disturbances during the mornings, including lawn mowing on Friday and construction/maintenance near the restaurant on Saturday. Also, I wasn’t aware in advance that front desk service wasn’t available 24 hours — I had to go down myself for assistance. Thankfully, the security staff was very helpful and kind. Despite these minor issues, it’s still a beautiful place to stay and worth visiting for a relaxing riverside getaway.

My stay at the Riva Vista Hotel in Chiang Rai was truly exceptional—easily five stars! The location is absolutely perfect; being within easy walking distance of the beautiful Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten) made sightseeing incredibly convenient. From the moment we checked in, we were impressed. The rooms are the perfect blend of cleanliness and luxury. We splurged on a room with direct pool access, and it was a total game-changer! The fact that our room opened right onto the pool was fantastic for a morning dip or an evening sun-downer. The hotel's dining is also a major highlight. The breakfast spread was delicious with a great variety of options, and the view from the restaurant is stunning, facing right out onto the tranquil Kok River. It made for a very peaceful start to each day. I will also second the recommendation to visit the nearby Chivit Thamma Da Coffee House, Bistro & Bar—it’s a beautiful spot for a coffee or a meal with a charming colonial-style atmosphere.

Staff was very nice, polite and helpful. Even though the room was large, beautifully furnished and with great view, it was noticeble humidity problems on the walls. Great location but be fully prepared with mosquitos repellent because there’s a lot of them even inside the buildings and room. Dinner was good, well prepared and with good variety. Breakfast was good. The variety wasn’t great but the quality was good. The only thing with good variety were the noodles. Will come back!

Riva Vista Chiang Rai is absolutely stunning. The design is beautiful both inside the room and around the property. The river view is so peaceful. The perfect place to relax and unwind. The food is also excellent, from breakfast to dinner, everything was delicious. The location is very convenient, just a short drive from the airport. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to stay again.

This place is absolutely stunning. Beautiful hotel, great and attentive staff, excellent choice of menu for all three meals. It's walking distance to the blue temple. This type of quality is hard to find for the price they offer it. I would definitely come back again. The place is a little hidden away but worth going.

The room was excellent, the service was superb, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Overall, a great experience; I definitely recommend it. It's within walking distance of the Blue temple, and there's a K-bank ATM 15 minutes away by walking, but tourists might not like the immediate surroundings.

The establishment features an enticing outdoor pool and an inviting dining area, surrounded by lush and vibrant gardens. Located in Chiang Rai, it is conveniently situated near popular attractions such as Clock Tower Chiang Rai, Old Bus Station, and Chiang Rai Saturday Night Walking Street. Guests can enjoy free WiFi and convenient concierge services during their stay.
This is perfect. Most hotels in Thailand claim to have “parking” but don’t have much parking. There is plenty of parking, and the staff are helpful. The restaurant is solid, the pool is great, and the location is central to all the Chiang Rai attractions. We will be coming back here.

Amazing stay in a great place. Very nice room with a balcony. Opening the windows granted us a birdsong concert every single day. Room service was also provided every day. The pool is very enjoyable. The garden quiet and beautiful, with several places to sit down in the evening and enjoy the refreshing evening chill. The staff was really helpful and very friendly. The breakfast was the best we had in our two weeks holidays, with lots of thai options of great quality. The resort is located a little outside the city center which was great for us, very calm, lots of amazing tiny family restaurants and a nice sunday market 10 minutes away. I would happily go back to Chiang Rai just to enjoy relaxing at Maryo. Thank you!

We stayed here for one night. The pool looks welcoming however we did not get to use it. The rooms were very clean and quite large. The breaker went off in our shower for our hot water but after notifying them, it was fixed within minutes. The staff were super friendly, the wifi quite fast and the grounds very clean. There was a buffet breakfast with enough options for everyone to enjoy.

Rasa Boutique Hotel Chiang Rai is a chic establishment that features modern Moroccan-style quarters. Situated just a short stroll away from the bustling Walking Street, this hotel offers tastefully decorated rooms inspired by the vibrant culture of Morocco. Guests can enjoy the convenience of free Wi-Fi and indulge in various amenities such as an outdoor pool and massage treatments. For dining options, Rasablanca serves a fusion of delectable dishes while Rasa De Cafe presents mouthwatering baked goods.
We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights for us and our daughter.. We chose this beautiful hotel as a base from which to see some of the wonders Chiang Rai has to offer.. we didn't stay long, so didn't manage to see as much as we would have liked to. From Rasa Boutique Hotel, it was probably the cheapest and easiest place to use Bolt/Grab taxis to and from the major attractions compared to anywhere else we stayed in Thailand. Fairs from baht 70-160. And it was close enough to walk to a couple of fantastic restaurants when we wanted to venture out. The hotel has a very good restaurant, we enjoyed breakfast there twice, and it cost only baht 150 per person, as we didn't include it when we booked.. very reasonable as it included toast with butter & jam, a hot meal (options available), hot drink, fruit, and fruit juice. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are beautifully decorated and cleaned daily, although isolated spots are a bit tired, which is the same throughout the hotel, outdoor areas, pool, and restaurant. In September 2024, a lot of Chiang Rai was flooded (worst in 80 years).. including this hotel, water reached as high as a meter, and it's quite remarkable how they have recovered from that.

I used this hotel because it was close to the start of my half marathon (Old City Hall). It was about a 17-minute walk - a great warm-up for the 5 am race! The service was great and the rooms were just what I needed. I really like the colours and the vibe of the hotel as well. Their breakfast is basic but good. If you like coffee, that's where they really shine. The would benefit from having an assortment of tea bags to choose from for people who don't drink coffee. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The price is good for the Hotel, old but decorated very well and the service is beyond exceptional. The hotel is mainly geared for Chinese travelers not for European visitors, the breakfast area is beautifully decorated as well as the rooms, hotel entrance and swimming pool area. The hotel was easy to locate on the highway. The breakfast was included in the booking but there was no cheese and only one kind of bread, though to be honest, there were cereal, milk, 2 kind of jam and sunny side up eggs but no waffles, no muffins, no croissants, not one type of cheese, no pancakes. Everything else was for Chinese travelers (fried rice, cooked vegetables, chicken ginger, etc). Overall, excellent choice for the money spent. Thank you Rosa management for the excellent customer service with the welcoming great smiles.

I have no idea why this place has a 4.2 rating. The room looked and felt old. The water pressure in the shower was not strong enough , when warm, to wash the soap suds off me. Oh, and the door for the restroom was maybe 165 cm tall, which is well under the average height of a Thai person. Wifi was OK. Breakfast was good here, I will say that, and they make you a coffee drink which was really good. I did not dislike this place, but for the price it was a poor value. The room is equivalent to a 400 baht room in other parts of Chiang Rai. I would not return.

Some rooms even boast balconies or terraces that offer breathtaking mountain views. Guests can unwind in the lush tropical garden complete with a swimming pool or indulge in soothing Thai massages.
Homestay Chiang Rai was one of the best accommodation we had during our 3 months travel. Phaety is a fantastic host, we loved chatting with her. The pool is very clean and nice, our kids loved it. The family room is spotless, spacious, the food delicious, and the atmosphere homy and relaxed. Overall, a very cosy hotel, nice garden, great service!

A beautiful oasis slightly out of town, would highly recommend! The grounds are beautifully kept, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Our only complaint is the prices of the food and drinks weren’t great. Too expensive, well above standard prices. Also the scooter rental, was terrible. (Blown out rear shock, bad breaks, low break fluid, wheel bearings work out and broken clasps on helmets - overall should not be rented out to anyone) If you don’t eat on site and don’t need a scooter this is a great place!

A very nice place with a beautiful garden and great food. We spent 2 nights there. We booked the family room and the master bedroom had some mouldy smell and when we told the hostess she upgraded us to the junior suite without extra cost which is a beautiful room with mountain view. The hostess was very helpful and kind. This is an oasis away from the town, still close. We had the nice pool and garden for ourselves. Warmly recommend this place.

Whilst we only stayed 2 nights Phaeti was a very welcoming and chatty host. Gave us some very good touring tips. Comfy bed, mini bar and lovely breakfast. Good air-conditioned room. Lovely setting where you can relax away from the hustle of the city, yet still only a 10 minute drive to the centre. Would recommend.

Lovely place with lovely staff and owner! We loved the rooms (beautiful and clean), the swimming pool, the restaurant, and cocktails (we tried dinner only as we always left too early for breakfast). They can call a masseuse for you if you want (quite good!). It's peaceful, quiet and with a nice garden. Definitely recommend as long as you have your own car (we rented one at the airport), otherwise it's too far from the city center and tours. There are a few local food options at walkable distance but quite limited. 15-minute drive from Chiang Rai center.

Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple, is a contemporary Buddhist temple located in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Designed by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, it features a unique white exterior with intricate designs and unconventional architecture. Inside, visitors can explore unusual murals and decorations along with odd sculptures. The temple aims to provide a space for learning and meditation to promote the teachings of Buddhism.
This was my first time to visit this temple. Make sure you are wearing skirts down to the knee if you go there. The entry was 100B and it is worth it. It is truly unique. It focuses on death a lot in the beginning but changes throughout. The level of artistry is at a great level. Everything is very manicured and beautiful. It has on the temple grounds the most beautiful bathrooms you have ever seen. I recommend checking this temple out.
Erastos E — Google review
Absolutely stunning temple, it’s a shame tourists can’t respect the culture though. During our time at the temple we heard the man over the speaker repeatedly tell the same people to cover themselves. They kept removing their coverings to take their insta shots. Honestly, wake up to yourself. If you can’t come to a country and respect the culture, go home. No one wants you here. Obviously there’s going to be people everywhere at tourist attractions. So fine. But don’t be rude and act like you’re the only one there. To get into the temple you have to cross a narrow bridge / walkway. There is a recording telling people not to block this. Sure enough there was a couple on the walkway taking selfies completely blocking the way with total disregard for the 20 - 30 people trying to get across. Until I walked in front of their camera that is. If you’re going to come here, respect the culture and other people or don’t bother because you honestly just look like an absolute flog. P.s. don’t forget there’s more to see here than just the white temple itself.
Julz P — Google review
The White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) in Chiang Rai is one of Thailand’s most surreal sights — pure white, shimmering with mirrored glass under the sun. The details feel almost otherworldly, blending Buddhist symbolism with modern art. Photos are allowed outside but not inside, where the murals surprise you with unexpected imagery. Visit early morning to avoid glare and crowds. It’s both art and reflection in one unforgettable stop.
Noel M — Google review
Milling crowds of tourists. Que up for 25 minutes or so. But here is the catch a National Artist from Chiang Rai decided with his own money to create the crystal white of Buddha's Metta: Compassion in his artistic imagination. The Chinese style architecture with embedded glass work give the place a dazzling aura. It is not the temples that he conceived he conceived the whole landscaping. Sky, water, earth, mountains, shrubs and trees! But what surprised me that I did not see too many birds. May be the cacophony of milling crowds daunted them! It's a vast area through which you can leisurely amble enjoying gurgling water, fountains spraying cool comfort, and children really feeling joyous.I saw a senior monk walk out of the monastery building. Besides the use of bridge as a symbol of transiting from mundane materialism to spirituality of loving compassion is very well utilized by the savant artist. The Golden bridge that connects you to a hall where hundreds of Ganesha are created by another artist. The piece de resistance is the white temple that has a full wall Buddha painting. The painting in terms of artistic creation is in line with traditional iconography of Buddha. It is not the interior but the exterior of this building that is stunning with white purity against blue sky, surrounded by liquidity of water and as I said a symbolic bridge connecting the temple to higher realms. When you come out of the main temple and view it from different viewing points that you realise that it is an ethereal ship surrounded by water and changing by changing sun light. For sure sun rise and sun down must be the best time to connect with ethereal glory. Lastly macabre art is also hanging by tree branches.

Its a beautiful temple for pictures taking. The white colour with chrome trimmed scriptures and building design really stands out especially during the sun light. Was really impressed with the toilet too which was painted in gold. Its gets crowded with Tourists and buses. There were quite a numbers of eateries here hence can dropby for meals too.

Wat Rong Khun (The White Temple) in Chiang Rai feels like stepping into a dream — pure white, mirror details catching the light, and architecture unlike anywhere else. It’s art, spirituality, and imagination blended into one surreal experience. Every corner has symbolism, from the path of life and karma to the bridge toward enlightenment. It’s peaceful, meaningful, and visually stunning — a place that inspires you to slow down and reflect. ✅ Unique modern Buddhist architecture ✅ Stunning details & symbolic design ✅ Beautiful photo spots
Vilaijit T — Google review
The temple itself is very beautiful, with its white surface and embedded mirrors that reflect the sunlight and make the temple shine in the sun. The beautiful atmosphere is a bit disturbed by its popularity and the constant announcements repeated over loudspeaker, telling people to continue walking and not to take pictures within the temple. You can find tons of references to modern pop-culture across the temple grounds. The biggest attraction is probably the entrance, where you can walk over a bridge that is surrounded by a lake of hands reaching out to you.
HikeForHappiness — Google review
The most beautiful and breathtaking temple we visited during our trip to Thailand. The intricate details and shimmering white design are truly mesmerizing — photos don’t do it justice! Baan Dam Museum, also known as the Black House, is a unique collection of wood buildings showcasing the artworks of Thawan Duchanee and other contemporary Thai artists. Situated in Chiang Rai, it is part of a day tour that includes visits to prominent temples such as the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) and the Blue Temple (Wat Rong Sueur Ten). The museum offers an intriguing experience with its dark-themed architecture and displays.
Great place for people looking for something different! I first came here ten plus years ago and the artist's work made a deep impression on me. His paintings exude strong strokes, and seeing paintings was worth the trip alone. Original paintings can be seen in the galleries next to the parking lot. The main structure on the museum grounds contains prints. One thing that stands out is the artist's prolific collection of things. Some interesting buildings on the grounds, one of which is reminiscent of a traditional house in Sulawesi (also some statues that looked Balinese in origin). Everything is visually engaging, definitely not a typical Thai attraction. There are artisans in the back building wood working, which was great to see as well. One staff said before COVID the museum would receive two to three thousand guests per day, but now visitors number around 500 per day. There are plenty of tourists here but it doesn't feel overcrowded. Well worth the visit.

The Black House (Baan Dam Museum) in Chiang Rai is haunting and unforgettable — a mix of art, philosophy, and raw symbolism. Created by national artist Thawan Duchanee over 30 years, the complex features more than 40 black teak buildings filled with animal bones, horns, and surreal sculptures. Each structure reflects themes of life, death, and rebirth drawn from Buddhist and animist beliefs. It’s not a temple but an artist’s dark reflection on human nature. Come early for a quieter visit — the stillness makes it even more powerful.
Noel M — Google review
Not particularly my cup of tea but might prove fascinating to some. Not really a museum as much as an art gallery/instillation. Quirky enough to be worth a quick stop for 80 bhat and a large garden with many extra small buildings to walk around and into too. Our favourite part was banging on the very large gong and TomTom drum ;)
Gillian H — Google review
Baan Dam Museum aka Black Museum was created by Thai artist Thawan Duchanee. It is basically a private art museum/gallery made up of around 40 various sizes and designes buildings almost are of them are painted in black. Building materials are dark wood, terracotta, glass, black coloured brick etc. The inside displays are mostly made of animal bones, animal structures, animal skins and horns etc. Sometimes it gives a very eery feel. Entrance fee is 80 Thai Baht per person.
Rajib B — Google review
I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but this place was disappointing and quite sad. It costs 80 baht to get in, and while they say there are 40 houses, several of them are just toilets. The space feels random — lots of touristy shops that don’t really fit the theme. The art is made almost entirely from dead animals, which is honestly overwhelming and disturbing. There’s a dead crocodile in nearly every room and horns everywhere. It just felt more macabre than meaningful. They also have what they call a “cat rescue,” but the cats are kept in small cages and clearly distressed. A few were pacing in circles like zoo animals. If they really want to help, they should let them roam free and actually care for them properly — it was hard to watch. Additionally the water buffalo and cows are tied up on small ropes. There’s no information about the art or the artist anywhere, except for one pamphlet that’s only in Thai. Overall, it felt uninformative, exploitative, and not worth the visit. I wouldn’t recommend it or go back.

Visitors can explore this monumental temple as part of a day tour that includes other prominent temples such as the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) and the Black House (Baandam Museum).

Wat Rong Suea Ten, also known as the Blue Temple, is one of Chiang Rai’s most stunning and modern temples. Designed by a student of Chalermchai Kositpipat, the creator of the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), it beautifully combines traditional Thai Buddhist architecture with striking contemporary design. The temple’s vivid blue and gold tones immediately catch your eye, creating an atmosphere that feels both mystical and serene. Once you enter the main hall, you’ll be amazed by the enormous white Buddha statue sitting gracefully in the center. The surrounding interior glows with intricate paintings in deep shades of blue and turquoise, symbolizing wisdom and purity. Every corner of the temple showcases fine craftsmanship — from the naga serpents at the entrance to the detailed wall murals that tell Buddhist stories. Wat Rong Suea Ten is not only a visual masterpiece but also a place of peaceful energy. The temple isn’t as crowded as the White Temple, making it easier to enjoy quietly and reflect spiritually. Outside, small vendors sell souvenirs, snacks, and local desserts, adding a lively touch without disturbing the temple’s calmness. The service from the local caretakers and housekeeping team deserves praise. The area is kept spotless, the walkways are well-maintained, and even during busy hours, the atmosphere remains clean and inviting. They are friendly and polite, always greeting visitors with a smile and offering help when needed. Overall, Wat Rong Suea Ten is a must-visit destination in Chiang Rai — a perfect blend of creativity, spirituality, and Thai artistry that leaves every visitor in awe.

Beautiful temple to understand thai architecture mixed with modern and contemporary art. Very detailed work. It is a stunning modern temple known for its vibrant blue and gold design. Built on the site of an old temple once abandoned for a century, it was completed in 2016 by a student of Chalermchai Kositpipat, the artist behind the White Temple. The temple blends traditional Thai art with modern creativity, making it a mesmerizing symbol of spiritual beauty and contemporary artistry. The naga (serpent guardians) at the entrance protect the temple and symbolize power, water, and transformation. You can see these different types of guardians protecting the temples in buddhist culture.

You definitely won’t miss this temple. The vibrant blue color is incredibly striking. But what truly caught my attention was the wall art, especially the detailed paintings depicting the life story of Sakyamuni Buddha. The artwork is beautiful and full of meaning. No entrance fee. Proper attire is required to enter, but no worries as they provide sarongs. There’s some ongoing renovation and construction, so hopefully there’ll be even more to see in the future.
Hm L — Google review
In all honesty this beats the white temple hands down for sheer visitability. Same creative flair but more compact and with way less visitors. Also actually in use as a Buddhist temple, just with added Disneyland vibes in the most Thai way imaginable. Just take a taxi and spend 30 minutes here, you won't regret it unless you have an aversion to the color blue or fun

Wat Rong Suea Ten literally means House of Dancing Tigers. It stands out with its striking sapphire blue exterior, which is not a common color for Thai temples. The temple is a blend of traditional Thai architectural elements and modern artistic designs, creating a visually stunning and spiritually significant space. 🌀💙🫐🧿 Entrance fee is 100 Thai Baht for foreigners.

My visit to the Blue Temple, or Wat Rong Suea Ten, in Chiang Rai was absolutely mesmerizing! This temple is a vibrant masterpiece, with its stunning blue facade and intricate gold accents that shimmer under the sun. The moment I stepped inside, I was blown away by the vivid murals depicting Buddhist stories, adorned with rich hues of blue and pops of color that make every corner Instagram-worthy. The giant Buddha statue at the center, surrounded by ornate carvings, radiates a serene yet powerful presence, making it perfect for quiet reflection or simply soaking in the artistry. What sets this temple apart is its modern yet deeply cultural vibe, blending traditional Thai elements with contemporary design. The dragon motifs at the entrance (inspired by the temple’s name, "Dancing Tiger") are jaw-dropping, and the entire place feels alive with creativity. The grounds are clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly tranquil despite its popularity. Entry is free, though donations are appreciated, and there are small stalls nearby for snacks or souvenirs. The local staff were warm and welcoming, adding to the positive experience. I loved how accessible the temple is—located just a short drive from Chiang Rai’s city center, it’s easy to combine with visits to the White Temple or Black House. Whether you’re a culture enthusiast, a photographer, or just looking for a peaceful escape, the Blue Temple is a must-see. Pro tip: Visit in the early morning for fewer crowds and softer light for photos. This gem is a highlight of Chiang Rai and left me in awe of its beauty and spirit!

Wiang Inn Hotel is an elegant establishment with cozy rooms and a choice of Chinese or European cuisine. Situated on a tranquil street, it offers easy access to various attractions including the city's Clock Tower and the vibrant Chiang Rai Night Market. The hotel's stylish rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs, and its location allows for convenient exploration of nearby amenities such as cafes, restaurants, and massage parlors.
The hotel is centrally located and is in walking distance to most if not all the attractions in Chiang Rai City. Loved that it was an older building but well maintained. The rooms were dated but were large, clean and the air conditioning worked well. The bathrooms on the smaller side but doable because the good water pressure. The morning breakfast was better than expected for a large hotel where fresh food was constantly replenished even during the morning rush. Definitely will stay here on our next visit to Northern Thailand.

Have stayed here a few times over twenty plus years. Dependable, higher end hotel right in the city centre near night Bazaar and tourist area. The hotel is a bit dated but very well maintained. Personally, I really like the design with lots of traditional wood, others might not.

A long-established hotel in Chiang Rai. The building is old, but the interior has been renovated and is quite comfortable 😊 I tried to drink alcohol in the lobby lounge, but there was no staff. If you don't take action at the front desk, they won't respond 💦 It's a little inferior as hotel service. Therefore, the rating is ☆☆☆ three stars. It was raining heavily and the ceiling of the lounge was leaking. There is a reasonable variety of breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, within walking distance of the night bazaar and bus station.
Mitsu K — Google review
Rooms are big but a bit outdated. Bed is very firm, almost too much. There is a lack of pressure for cold water, so mostly you get warm or hot water in the bathroom. Lack of electrical sockets near the bed and those on the desk wall are old and loose, they would need replacing. They can hardly hold a charger. Breakfast is buffet, but quality is average. No back-up in case of power cut, and it did happen once at night during a storm. For at least an hour in the middle of the night: no AC, no light etc during this time, room was getting really hot. Staff is friendly. Wifi is good. No safe in the rooms. But the hotel has a good parking, great location in the centre, and is good value so can't complain much.

Old hotel once was a first class hotel right in the middle of the town. Spacious room but need better maintenance especially the bathroom. Breakfast was okay.

Stayed for 1 night. Thank god. Location is as great as it was very near the bus station and airport. The room was smelly and dusty. The aircon was dripping from the ceiling and it was so loud. The electrics in the room were very bad! No plugs near the bed. When I plugged in the hair dryer it sparked and the hair dryer stopped working. The smoke alarm was beeping the whole night! The mirror was filthy. The food was okay but not a great selection. Service at dinner was good! Noise all night in the walls??? Went for a swim in the outdoor pool at 6pm and it was freezing and bats were circling the water. Spoke to reception the next morning and no apology was given! Would not recommend. Hostel that I stayed in was much nicer!

Katiliya's villas and suites provide stunning views of green valleys, mountain lakes, and forest-covered hills for ultimate privacy and serenity. Additionally, the resort features a Nature Park designed to bring guests closer to nature.
With the price offer by the resort. Not much to conplain. I found it worth for money. The room is clean, spacious and quite. I informed the resort I will check in very late on 11th August 2025 as we flying from Kuala Lumpur to Chiang Mai, then by van to Chiang Rai. To my surprise, the reception staff are waiting for our check in. And it go smoothly. As for location, not far from town. For me very strategic location. Surely will come again.

A large and very attractive Lanna style resort. Love that they offered greatly discounted rooms last minute for our 2 night stay. Appears a bit past its prime, but they are taking good care of the place. A little away from downtown which kept it quiet and peaceful a was nonissue with a motor scooter or using Grab.

The hotel is old and badly maintained. The rooms are large with big beds but the furniture is old and dusty. Dimly lit. In order to read in bed I had to open the side table light to expose the bulb. One wire repaired with tape. The shower is from a different era. Worst of all the swimming pool. Green murky water. Gardens not attended to and ponds water is still and dirty. Service is kind. Food is ok
Francesca C — Google review
The hotel is decent, can do much better if it's maintained properly. Looks like rooms and the surroundings in hotel are not maintained properly, they look worn out and old. This place has a huge potential to become the luxury resort if it's maintained. Please management, do that, I liked the location and peaceful vibe of this place and would like to stay here again if rooms are maintained, currently they are in shabby state , especially bathrooms, they are somewhat mouldy. The hotel staff is very friendly and warm. 5 star for them.
Shweta P — Google review
Hotel urgently needs some renovation. Pictures do not reflect the current state of rooms and facilities. Pool was closed. Even when open very few pool lies available. Room smelled badly, air conditioning very noisy. No place to make yourself comfortable in the hotel, neither close to pool nor at your veranda, only completely uncomfortable wooden bench. Room itself would definitely also require some updates. We left and booked another hotel, the hotel did not offer any kind of reimbursement.
Dieter K — Google review
Staff was very kind. Front of the resort looks good, but once inside the grounds are not at all maintained. No living grass remaining, dying trees, the ground covered in leaves and debris. There are stagnant, completely neglected ponds all throughout the property with mosquitos. The bathtub was dirty, dust and dead bugs in the corners of the room. The last straw that sent us running was the rock hard bed. The side of my body I was lying on lost circulation. We checked out within an hour of checking in.
Jocelyn H — Google review
Came here one night as part of an organised tour. Rooms are tired dimly lit and need updating. Of the two rooms like lodges we occupied one the hot water did not work and the pressure was low . Others in the tour group suffered similar issues. The food was okay, but a lot needs doing to this place to make it a viable option to stay here . One night was one night to long.
Jeremy H — Google review
Only pro is the location, 5-9 mins to Lalitta cafe and 15 mins drive to airport. Rooms are in terrible condition, also why would you put a Kamasutra painting on the wall? You have to shower standing in the bathtub with very low outflow of water. Rooms are definitely not the way it’s shown in the pictures, very less food options and menu is limited atleast for vegetarians. Hope things get better as it’s quite a small town with limited options!

It is a beautiful facility. Sure, the complex is a bit older but that's what makes it so charming. There is a small playground for the little ones. If you don't close your eyes, you will enjoy the nature and the lights. The resort can be highly recommended.

Very suspicious behavior from the cleaning staff. Checked in for just one day. Went out for breakfast for 30 minutes in the morning, returned to find someone in the room, even though our checkout is three hours later. Reception mentioned the cleaner entered early to clean. Does the cleaner not communicate with reception? How does she not know the guests haven't checked out yet? They might still be sleeping at 9 am! Moreover, not even the trash bin was emptied. I don't understand why the cleaner enters on the guests' departure day, and how it coincided with the exact 30 minutes we were absent. I'll double-check every speck of dust in my luggage, but this is unacceptable. By the way, the hotel is already old, in an inconvenient location, and the breakfast only offers rice and toast, with instant coffee from a jar. The rest of the food is inedible. The rooms attempt to mask the damp smell with a suffocating air freshener. Definitely not worth the 1300 baht; it seems the hotel is geared towards Chinese group tourists.

Very noisy. Not only a loud noise from the wedding banquet, their house keeping do slam on the door everytime they get in and out of each room. Location wise is OK. Need to have a car since the hotel is far from tourist spot. Room is clean with complete amenities.

The Sann Hotel located in Chiang Rai offers comfortable accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a shared lounge. The rooms are cooled by strong air conditioning and are centrally located.
I had a very noisy first night. I am not a complainer but loud music from the building behind was banging in the room until 00.30 in the morning. Complained. They offered to change my room to front looking rooms. I had ear plugs. Following morning found out it was a special celebration. Rest of the stay was very good. Rooms you feel clean, people very friendly and location is very central. Breakfast was satisfiying. I bought some yoğurt from the 7/11 . You can have also cheese from 7/11 to make the breakfast very good. Overall i would like staying there again.

Very good location, on the main road, closed to shops and restaurant. Looks very new but not well maintained. Varied options for breakfast.
Rose B — Google review
POSITIVES: Great hotel. Good value for money. Friendly staff, but not to chatty. Central location. Good daily, different breakfast. Clean room and spacious room. 13 min. walking to the night market and 10 min. to the clocktower (must visit for lightshow). Also streetfood right in front of the hotel. Can recommend the Pad Thai, Hamburger stall, and Beny Bakkery. Nice city view (frontside of hotel) from our room. NEGATIVES: We had room 669. Loud room in the sense that you can hear a lot inside your room, especially from adjacent room and hallway. There were a lot of Chinese tourists. Very loud people, one was even having a very loud phone call in the hallway and his room at 3 in the morning.
Davy L — Google review
Location is great. The room was large and reasonably comfortable but it somehow looked relatively new while not being well maintained at all. Lots of chips, scratches and stains all over, and the shower head desperately needed to be decalcified. Soundproofing was not good from the door/hallway. Staff was also somewhat inattentive and untrained, they turned away my driver when he came and asked for me by name right after I had interacted with them, luckily I was waiting in the lobby and saw it happen. They also did not have irons or steamers which is strange for such a large hotel. Breakfast was good with a reasonable variety of options including eggs your way. If I were to make another trip to Chiang Rai, I'd probably choose another hotel.
Brooke E — Google review
We booked this hotel for the location. It is close to the clock tower and surrounded by temples and various food options. The hotel is reasonably priced and was a great value. However, the mattress is super hard and pillows are very thick. We didn't sleep well because of that. The breakfast was basic. I might not stay again.
Johannes S — Google review
Decent value for the money, great location, very nice staff , for the price i paid i couldn't ask for more in the breakfast. The only downside - the room : the bed was not comfortable at all , you can feel each spring inside the mattress, the water in the shower is not constantly hot , the sound insulation is very poor - you can hear the noises in the corridor and the house keeping use a walky talkies with high volume which could be very annoying if you wish to wake up late in the morning.

What a app solute joke of a hotel. On my second day, the key wouldn’t open my room door. The reception was notified and they also count open the door. A lock Smith was called! Never again!

Well run, family hotel. Friendly and accommodating staff. Service was great and the overall stay very pleasant. Rooms are quite standard and accommodated two adults and two kids comfortably. Showers functioning well and kettle with coffee available, as is a fridge and some bottled water. Breakfast - follows the standard good mix of western and Asian. Coffee can be drunk - but the location is very central to go for a nice morning coffee.

Honestly, I was a bit scared after reading some reviews were and on Booking, but I don't understand what people expect for a very low budget hotel in one of the best locations in town. Yes, it could use some renovations in the commons areas and rooms, but the patio, pool and lobby were recently renovated, so they clearly are going through it as they can. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was in too of the toilet seat, which was not the most convenient thing, but it is a rather commons thing in Southeast Asia, especially in hotels with 10 years or more of activity. The buffet breakfast was well served, and they made fresh pancakes and egg dishes at request. The pool water was rather too cold for my liking but the common open area was very pleasing. The staff is very nice, and let us stay a lot of time on the lobby while we waited for the but to Chiang Mai. The location is the best you can have, within 5 minutes walking of the bus stations, Night Bazaar, several temples, coffeeshop and restaurants.

It is an old hotel that has been renovated. My room is 202, The room is very spacious. The bathroom also very spacious and clean. There is a sofa bed in the room. Nice hotel a little outside the center. Very large rooms...rather rare in Chiang Rai. Rooms and bathrooms are clean by Thai standards. Breakfast is sufficient. There is mostly Thai food. The staff is very friendly. The doorman - his name was Paul - is also responsible for directing guests to the parking lot and he always found a parking space on the small place. He was also very friendly and always had time for a chat with the guests. All in all, OK for 3 to 4 nights.

The hallway to the room was always dark. The lights were off the entire time we stayed there. The room itself is a bit yellow looking so people obviously ignored the no smoking inside rule 🚭 which is unfair to the nonsmoking guests and families who stay. The beds are ok in comfortability. The location is decent and you are about 30-45 mins walking distance from most cool inner city things. The Grabs (Thai uber) is affordable here and not just bike availability so you can get a grab car. Breakfast fruit was good. I love fresh fruit and Thailand is plentiful in this. The rice and stir fried protein and veg was always good. Don’t eat sausages in Thailand- anywhere. I just don’t recommend. Eggs were great. The services for massage in Thailand always amaze me. You can request a 2h oil thai and foot massage for 800 baht to your room. This is a pretty good deal and was worth it after a long day of travel and exploration.

Rundown and old, especially the bathroom. Broken window. Ok for one night, it is not so bad. Breakfast was really low quality. The staff was friendly. No toiletries provided. The room is clean and spacious. The location is good but still a taxi away from most activities.

This is a good hotel for family, business, long and short visit stay. The room is spacious, clean and we’ll decorate. There is a space for working inside the room and a sofa for leisure. Convenient parking space.

Very bad experience. The whole building is built very badly because you can hear every small noise inside the building and outside the building!!! Especially the noises from air conditioners, it’s too loud!!! I can’t sleep at night!!! That ruins my holiday! Also the swimming pool is ridiculous! Because it’s very small and the water is only till my knee! You cannot swim there otherwise you hurt yourself! I can’t believe that this hotel is 3 star hotel, they’re so awful -_-

I honestly had such a great surprise with this hostel! Every single person at the lobby was incredibly kind and helpful — they really go above and beyond. I stayed for two nights and they helped me plan everything from day one to day three, always with a smile and the best attitude. The bathrooms are spacious and clean, there’s plenty of room for everyone, and the atmosphere feels super friendly and organized. I barely spent time at the hostel other than sleeping, because all the activities I did were recommended and booked through them — and every single one was amazing. So far, this has been one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in Thailand. Totally recommend it!

We arrived to the hostel quite late in the evening and we're greeted and brought to our room. I was so happy as for the same price in Chiang Mai, it felt like luxury. Spotlessly clean, large room with everything you would want or need. We got great recommendations and we enjoyed our evening out in town exploring market 5 mins walk away. The best part was the morning where 'Shaun' took such care of us. We had a late night in the Irish bar and had missed breakfast but he gladly brought us a variety of eggs and lovely rolls, coffee. He was the hostess we needed! Very informative which saved us time- giving us great information so we could jam pack our day! I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel! It was super clean, lots of space to lounge and Shaun at the front desk was extremely welcoming and helpful with tips of what to see in the area. I highly recommend staying here. My only ask for the hostel would be to consider selling soy milk in the fridge, as only dairy milk is provided at breakfast. Additionally, the breakfast isn’t really great for vegans - there were just bananas to eat.

Resort hotel
Luckswan Resort offers a modern Lanna style room with a great location, just a 10-minute drive from Chiang Rai International Airport and 5 minutes from Mae Kok River. The resort features a nice garden and swimming pool, providing a relaxing atmosphere amidst nature. However, the building is quite old and may have some maintenance issues such as ants in the rooms and mold in the bathrooms.
The hotel is really clean and the room is great. Wax on the floor that made you feel how much care they take for the cleaning. The bed is really hard but this is positive! And you have enough pillows. The air condition is too strong and point directly on the bed: you could get cold and sick. Be ready to feel the countryside !!roaster and chickens are your friends and at 5:30 they start to wake you up. But I love it! There is a swimming pool and also bikes (not sure if free or to rent). The personal is really friendly and the breakfast is really good. We took the first breakfast before check-in for just 200BTH per person and was really ok: rice with chicken, toast, marmalade, fruits, coffee, orange, beer, soup, vegetable, sausages, eggs on request.... we actually took our first breakfast at 9am and was like a lunch for us!! The place is just 3min walking from blue temple and you can visit for free whenever you like. Since is a "tourist area" you will not have problem to get a grab (uber) and drive around. For dinner we were to "happy street" (known also as "Sunday market"). The area is really quite.

Hotel is handy to the blue temple. If you prefer a quiet spot away from traffic noise, this is the place. Nice pool, friendly staff, good service. The bed is too hard for me, but I have back issues, not the hotel's fault.
Renee P — Google review
Little bit old fashioned. Rooms vere clean, but bathroom looks old 3/5. Breakfast was good, but mostly noodles. Swimming pool was salty, only few chairs there and looks old. Definitly not 4* resort.

I booked a room seeing photos on Agoda; however when I arrived hotel the photos did not match reality. The room was very DIRTY, STINGY, lots of dust, ants on bed sheet. VERY OLD HOTEL. I did not want to check in, Manager was very rude and did not want to refund. I DON'T RECOMMEND

Its very quiet. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were very clean, and breakfast was delicious.

Rooms are just OK. Worst breakfast I've seen with no eggs even though I was asked to fill in a form while checking in asking is how we would like our eggs. My biggest issue is the woman woking the breakfast shift on 06/11 she was incredibly rude and made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. Disappointing overall. I will not be back.

Nice, clean hotel, really friendly staff, great location, just about 5 steps from the Blue Temple, and nice pool. We loved our stay, there was nothing amiss. There is even a Thai custom clothing place right beside the hotel for taking pictures in the Blue temple in traditional thai clothes.
Jessica B — Google review
No surprises bed, hot shower clean towels. Toiletries as picture but wished for soap, I wasn’t sure if I washed with shampoo or conditioner. Nice surprise hair dryer. Staff cheery. Bed was impressively hard but they made a valiant effort to soften it with soft toppers. Breakfast was again as expected- eggs, toast, hot dog as sausage, fish thai style, cereals nothing for a wedding proposal but an adequate start to the day.

We stayed here for 2 days. It's a great stay at a reasonable rate. We paid about 3800 INR for our whole stay. Rooms and washrooms are clean. The hotel staff is friendly and cooperative. The rooms come with AC, TV, geyser, hair dryer and a umbrella as well. Breakfast is complementary. I would recommend this stay. During our stay the breakfast menu had: 1. Toast with jam/butter 2. Tea and coffee 3. Watermelon slices 4. Chicken porridge

Rooms are good. But bed is horrible soft. You lie down and sink. If you are vegetarian (as I am) you will find only bread and one option of fruit. And they cannot prepare even an egg for you. Don't expect much for breakfast. Positive I can say good price and place very quite. Good atmosphere.

We totally missed this one on Agoda and stayed somewhere else first. Only found it by accident. Very nice place with super comfortable bed and pillows. Nice and soft for westerners. Not so hard as found in many Thai hotels. We had a porch and mosquito guards in the windows and door. So we could open the windows at night and not use the AC. There was like a little grass area with trees in the middle of the complex so it felt like nature not city. It had some use on the interior but it was very clean. Very quiet at night. Totally happy and we would stay there again.

Terrible. Horrible service. Rooms not as described. Owner a nasty piece of work. The garden view for the room requires u to stand out side in the car park to see it. Bare in mind we booked the deluxe room. The window in the back of the room hardly let's in any light as it is backed up against a brick wall covered with fake grass. Makes u feel like ur in a box. Rooms are noisy The people next to us were smoking on the balcony so our room stank of smoke when we woke up. Ur not meant to smoke on the balcony. So I wake up at 6.30 to noise, smoke and no natural light. The rooms clearly state garden view.... only if u sand outside and look through the car park. Look if u have a car and like no natural light and smoke coming through the doors it might be OK for you. Owners and managers horrible. I fell sorry for the staff. Don't sell me a deluxe room with garden views if im not getting it. Terrible location if u don't have a car. nothing around Would give zero stars if I could

Very nice room and very quite place. Breakfast included and they were very useful to were or how to rent bikes. Bicycles are available to customers free of charge. The location is close to the main road of Chiang Rai, so easy if you have to move north or south to visit temples or siteseeing, plus is very close to the clock tower and center. Only the breakfast could have little more choice of sweet dishes, but not a complaint, we are in Thailand even to live the culture right ?!?!?!!!!!!!
Pierluigi C — Google review
It's nice, clean and cozy. Staff was professional and helpful. The room itself was fully functional and up to the standard you'd expect. I wouldn't put to much focus on the "Resort" part of the name though, because that will definitely get you disappointed. If you've ever been to another Resort kind of place and are looking for that experience, this is not it. But overall experience is perfectly fine. Can't really find anything to fault.
David M — Google review
A nice quiet hotel in the layout of an old style American motel; individual ground level rooms spread around a play area/car park/gardens. Rooms are spacious but lack storage space so it's difficult to unpack. Bathroom is spacious but lacks shelves or hooks for your toiletries/towels. There is a kettle & cups but no complimentary tea/coffee nor could the front desk provide any. Breakfast consists of Thai porridge & salad, fruit, bread/toast, jam, eggs, tea & coffee. Location is about 20mins walk to town This place is away from main road so nice a quiet. There are some local food eating places nearby before you get to town. Customer service was mostly good.

Overall great experience staying here. Stayed for 4 nights. No safe box and especially no hot water in the shower are the biggest negatives Pros: - Large hotel area, easy to park both scooters and cars - Quiet surroundings - Great pool area, had it for myself most of the day. The water is relatively cold, not too cold, but enough to cool off from the heat - Friendly hotel staff - Close to the city centre, night market, scooter rental, restaurants etc Cons: - No hand soap in the room - No hot water in the shower, no place to put the showerhead? - No safe in the room to store valuable items - Looks a bit old and outdated in the hotel hallways
Ole T — Google review
Stayed here a couple of nights. Dated but spacious room. No lift so beware of heavy luggage although we were helped on the way in. No safe in the room with the aircon blasting straight on the bed which can be uncomfortable. There is a breakfast buffet which is pretty average. There are entrances to the hotel both North and South but Google Maps thinks you can only come from the South so be aware or you will need to walk a lot more to get in and out of the property to go to the night markets.
Carlos B — Google review
Very nice hotel we stayed in for couple of nights just as a stop point to stay along the trip. Service was good, very nice people, very good location and I highly recommend the books bar&restaurant behind the hotel. The breakfast had very little to it and was not so satisfying

No sound proof, very old and dry towels, soaps, mattresses, doors, nobs, everything is low end. BUT - room was clean and the sheets too. Dining room has a good variety and service

Room i had was on same floor as lobby, but the aircond is facing the bed and although aircond is proper working , its blowing direct to the bed. Not good for sleeping. The worst is the bedding, the bedsheets is easily crumple and make it hard to sleep on it, the comforter blanket is same. I had a hard time trying to get a good sleep here. Breakfast is so so only. Can fill you up but limited choice for western and asian Asian I stay here 1 night and regretted not checking the review. Some say its near bazaar but I could find any, so I drove a bit to find a good authentic Thai restaurant in town. The bedding is a one area they need improve as all tourist need good sleep.

Room was spacious, night market was in a walking distance. My room was on the second floor a bit of hassle as there was no lift and I had to take the baby up and down the stairs multiple times a day. The pool is good with warm water but there are tiles that are broken and needs repair

We stayed here for a couple nights, a nice quiet location but not too far from all the markets and restaurants in town. Very clean, relaxing and the staff were very helpful. I have no reservations recommending this resort to anyone. While we did not utilize the restaurant or breakfast, I would trust the positive reviews based off of our own experience.

Very far from city.. advisable to have a car if staying here.. the rooms are quite okay.. the reception n lobby is good. Quite place but found it too secluded n far. Luckily we had a car to navigate. Most people in staff font know English so communication was a little challenge
Fatema H — Google review
I chose to stay at this hotel due to its excellent reviews. I was a party of three, for one-night stay. Upon arrival, the reception was welcoming. However, when I entered my room late at night, I found that I had less than half a roll of toilet paper with no backup supply. The extra bed I paid for was extremely uncomfortable, making it impossible for any of us to sleep on it. In the morning, we went to breakfast, which we had pre-paid for. The breakfast is ending at 10 a.m., we got there about 9:45 a.m. After getting our food and sitting down, a lady staff member approached us and pointed at her wristwatch. When I inquired about her actions, she informed me that breakfast would end at 10 a.m. and she would be clearing all the food away. I asked her what time it was, and she replied that it was 9:50. At that point, we had already collected all the food we intended to eat, so we had no problem if she wants to clean up. The staff member continued to walk around, frequently glancing in our direction. At 10 a.m., she bought a group of workers who began making loud noises. We finished eating by 10:05. This hotel is supposed to be a high-end hotel, however the worker is not adequately trained to treat their guests well. While the hotel itself is beautiful, we will not be staying here again and would not recommend it.

This place is just great and very quiet. Beautiful river view. Beautiful swimming pool. Next door is a big park with running and bicycle trails. Many people seem to come there in the evening. It's only a 5 minute ride or so into town but it's not really walkable. Suggest car or motorbike.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel in Chiang Rai. It's located just outside the town—far enough to feel peaceful and surrounded by nature, with beautiful views of the river, but still close enough to get around easily. The room was clean and comfortable, and housekeeping came daily. There’s ample parking, and the staff were all very kind and helpful. It was also nice and quiet during my stay, as there weren’t many other guests. A great spot for a relaxing getaway.
Danel M — Google review
First time staying at this hotel we got room 1310 on the 3 floor there is a lift from carpark to go up our room. Hotel lobby is very big but the rooms are in a different building beside the main lobby. Pros: - Rooms are huge ! - Daily buffet breakfast is very good with decent options , I love their minced meat porridge and soup it taste very much like home cooked food for me - Staff service is very good - Car park is also huge with ample parking space as well drove a rental car Cons: - Sound insulation is almost non existent. We had a connecting room with a stranger and could hear them talk and walking around with the noisy hotel slippers provided - Hotel slippers make a very loud noise when you walk against the wooden floors in the bedroom - Toiletries are too basic there is no toothbrush and toothpaste provided and no bar soap for washing hands. Shower gel and shampoo are unbranded in tiny clear bottles. Two glass bottles of water per day and a kettle for you to boil water - Only one room key provided, need to pay a refundable deposit of 200 baht for the second key card.
Yin W — Google review
Very quiet and beautiful surroundings. The pool was big and we had a great time relaxing after a long day. Breakfast was so good. If I go to Chian Rai again this would be my favorite place to stay.
Maneesha J — Google review
About half an hour from the city. Clean and quiet surroundings are their best attributes. Front counter staff we encountered was not good in English so took a while for her to understand us. Breakfast was not spectacular and very simple. For such a big hotel, there isn't even an egg station. There is a simple gym and a lap pool. Nevertheless, the rooms were spacious and clean. Not very good sound proofing though.

Lovely place. Great sized rooms. ONLY hotel ever to have 3 good pillows if you WISH. PLUS bathroom with bath AND full on shower. Whisper quiet A/C. Gorgeous pool. Four choices of breakfast. Plus fruit and toast and jam. 3 nights there and could easily stay a week or two more. Hard to fault it. But if I had to. ONLY Thai on the TV. Bathroom sliding door very noisy and tough to open and close. So 4 * plus overall.

Great location walking distance to Bight Bazaar and the clock tower, restaurants, bars and shopping. Too many times travelers miss out on little gems by going with bigger name hotels. This little place has many quaint touches, a free breakfast (you cook yourself, yes not kidding) and comfortable large rooms. Really nice quaint rooms! All at a ridiculously low price, 1/3rd the price of the bigger hotels. And you are supporting small Thai businesses, so give it a try! We enjoyed our little stay and would not hesitate to stay again!

Amazing hotel with an absolutely incredible breakfast ! So much choice, delicious salty (noodles and rice dishes changing everyday) and sweet thai food, a mix of local and continental breakfast, and a very attentive and kind personal. I miss this huge buffet already! The hotel is charming and the room clean and big. The swimming pool looks nice but it was not warm enough to try it. I definitely recommend it. Nb: we booked a Room Double Deluxe

We had an amazing stay at Nai Ya hotel. The hotel has everything you need for a nice stay, gym, good breakfast and a fairly big pool. The rooms are definitely the highlight of the hotel. Modern, clean and soundproof. The rooms are close to the pool, so is you want privacy you need to keep the curtain closed. The hotel is located in a quiet part of town, around a 10-15 minutes away from the Bus Terminal and Night Bazaar. The breakfast had a good selection of western and thai food. Some parts of the pool area could benefit from a bit of renovation.
Fredrik M — Google review
This is a pleasant hotel, with lots of attention to detail in decor and service. We came in off-season and it is a very quiet and serene experience. The pool winds around two sides of the building and is cleaned daily with child-friendly devices. The room is large and the beds are supremely comfortable to lie on. The breakfast, whilst standard fare, has rotations of Thai dishes everyday, together with continental style offerings and the usual cereal and juices. ALTHOUGH, the service by Mr Note in the dining room is exceptional. This is a four-star hotel, but he offers extremely attentive and detailed service around your dining experience and always with a smile akin to upper five-star hotel and Michelin restaurant quality of service! The hotel is but a short taxi ride to most places... About £2.30 / 100 baht to white temple, 15 minutes walk to night market etc. There are about four launderettes within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, with a wash and dry costing about £1 / 40 baht each. There is great hairdressers within 12 minutes walk of this hotel, called 'Unnie'. The whole family had cuts, wash, dry, head massage etc... cheap as chips and the service is attentive and kind (if you go, please say hello to Mr Juice ((kitty)) for us... He is very gentle). There is also one of the best coffee venues there we've had in Thailand 'CHYN', housed in a modernist building. Overall, a positive stay and we would come again!

Best hotel in the region. If you want relaxation and retreat - this hotel is the perfect choice. I was immediately taken by the artistry and beauty of the hotel. A perfect blend of modern and traditional Asian art at every turn. The staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast is excellent, and I also loved the pool and fitness center. I will most definitely stay again.
Felecia M — Google review
The hotel was great value for the price—nice rooms and a good overall look. But one big downside was the limited breakfast options for Muslims. On top of that, a lot of the food wasn’t labeled, making it hard to know what was halal. On the first morning, I called the restaurant staff to ask about which items were chicken and which were pork so we could avoid them. But when we went for breakfast the next day, I saw that nothing was labeled again. To make things worse, after asking the staff, I realized there were even fewer chicken options and even more pork dishes. 😅
Maruf H — Google review
Breakfast wasn’t even Thai food! How disappointing! It was Chinese congee! People who eat breakfast there are always screaming or playing on their phone really loud and the staff don’t care. Our room window was leaking when it rained and well it rained everyday I was there. They don’t even have a latte coffee for breakfast but they have one in their cafe but the actually espresso machine is located Pool side that no body uses. Really unorganized! The hotel is really In the middle of nowhere! There isn’t much nearby. Constantly need a taxi to go anywhere. The staff don’t speak English and often need Google translate. The best thing this hotel had was a great gym and an awesome clean pool! Very refreshing. But July is raining season and it rained everyday off and on. The bed was also the best ever! So soft and fluffy.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Chiang Rai Lake Hill Resort! The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful throughout our time there, making us feel truly welcomed and cared for. The views from the swimming pool and café are simply stunning, offering a serene and picturesque backdrop for relaxation. The property itself is incredibly spacious, with beautiful coffee trees nestled under large, shady trees – a peaceful retreat that felt like a breath of fresh air. Our kids were thrilled with the friendly chooks, birds, and cats roaming around the property, adding a charming and homely touch to the experience. While the location is a little far from the main road, this was never an issue. Food deliveries were prompt, arriving within 30 minutes, and arranging transportation was a breeze with motorcycles and car taxis easily available through Grab. Thank you, Chiang Rai Lake Hill Resort, for a memorable and relaxing getaway. We can't wait to return!

DO NOT STAY HERE! After a long day of driving, we arrived to find a deserted "resort" with all the staff sat poolside and in the pool having a "staff party." Although our booking was last minute, the resort was in a dismal state and there was literally a strong smell of bird faeces throughout the hotel grounds. There was also no one at the gate upon arrival and no one in the reception area. Despite having a nonrefundable booking, we chose to cut our losses and drive another 30 minutes back to Chiang Rai. Give this place a definite SKIP!

We had a marriage retreat there and everything was great except for the shower. They probably need to replace the heaters as our shower fluctuated from hot to cold repeatedly throughout the shower. Friends said theirs did the same thing and one couple said theirs was never warm. The room was clean though and there were few ants. We also appreciated having a refrigerator. The service was fantastic. You do need to be able to speak some Thai though if you get a massage and in communicating with the chef for breakfast. The food was great though and so was the hit cocoa. We really enjoyed our stay and will most likely be back.

We had the villa but I have to request for beddings to be changed and the floor to be cleaned. Still, I have to do some more cleaning so I can feel more comfortable in it. However, for the second day, the housekeeper did well in cleaning the villa :) Surroundings looks great though --- this was the reason why we chose this place. I feel closer to nature and the view from the pool was awesome especially in the early morning.

Very nice restaurant, service was a tad slow even though we were the only table there. The menu is a touch western meets Asian which is appreciated when you a foreigner (also that's kinda hard to come by in the northern parts so kudos to them). But if yo uwent for the view alone it would be 5 star. The pool is cool with a little slide to boot (it used to be 100 baht to use for the day but it's gone up to 150, still no complaints as that view is honestly special)
Goolam L — Google review
The service isn't really good, my family and I booked for 2 nights, including the breakfasts, first day we had breakfast, and it wasn't really good, only a few of options. Second day, they don't provide us breakfast which I don't know why. All in all, not a good experience for us. The room was spacious but the bed isn't comfortable. The room was so old, it doesn't match the advertised pictures.

P'Som is a great host. The room is very clean and comfortable. Great value especially with the great breakfast. Everyday the breakfast was amazing with eggs, noodles, salad, meat, etc. I also used the gym each day and it was great also. When I forgot something, they even sent it back for me. You won't be disappointed by this hotel!

We loved it here so much. The staff are so friendly and even invited us to their new years celebrations. There are bicycles to use for free to get around. The pool is clean and refreshing. The breakfast is plentiful with eggs, toast, fruit, cereal and sausages/ham. The rooms are spacious and well lit. The gym is well equipped. The balcony furniture could do with freshening up but apart from that, worth a stay. It's a bit further out of town than it looks on a map but that makes for a very peaceful time.

Superbe! The welcome: everybody wants to make your stay as perfect as he can. The smiles, the service. Everyday in the room, we had a sweet and a lovely advice on trips to go to or specialities to taste. The hotel: very quiet. A swimming pool. The room are very nice with a balcony, the beds comfortable, an independent shower. The breakfast: a buffet with cornflakes, eggs, toasts, jam, Thai soup, etc We recommand.

Excellent experience in that cozy and charming hotel. The rooms are extremely clean and the personal are all welcoming and sweet. Located in a quiet and well frequented residential area it is still however close to the hyper center (Center city in 15 minute walk or in less than 5 when ordering a grab, white temple in 15 min) The breakfast is surprisingly excellent having everything needed with a view. The swimming pool is pretty big opening until late (9 pm). Can only recommend if visiting chiang rai.

Perfect resort! We stayed here with a family of 5 adults, 2 rooms at the pool. The people are very kind and helpful. We had some leftover food from the day before and they reheated it for us and brought it to the room 🙏💕. They also were a great asset with finding activities to do and where to buy local souvenirs. The rooms are very clean and smell great. Everyday they leave a kind note on the bed with a Thai snack. It feels very homey and cozy here. Breakfast is also delicious, every morning there is a new warm dish to try. The coffee is tasty. Location wise, it’s also perfect. About 8 minutes to the center. Definitely recommend this resort 10/10 ⭐️

Superb resort! If you love a cozy and small resort this is the place. The location is also perfect, it's nearby city center with car/motorbike. Staff is very kind and the rooms are spacious. Definitely would stay here again! ❤️ Good to know: If you love thrift stores that sell knickknacks, this is also the resort to stay. One street down the road you can find the store 'Colin San Shop' it's a pretty big store, we actually went twice and still haven't seen everything. Prices are reasonable, it's goes by the weight for pricing. It's open from 08:00 till 17:00 everyday I think.

This was best Hotel in Thailand we stayed in so far. Room: So the Room was really clean and spacious and the first bed in thailand we had with completely clean sheets. On the first evening we noticed that our shower was not getting hot so we told one of the friendly Ladies on the reception. No more than 10mins later someone came to fix it and the lady from the hotel made sure to clean the bathroom afterwards. Breakfast: Breakfast was alright nothing really special but with toast, marmalade, butter and fried rice + real good coffee and nice tea. You also have a really nice sight from the breakfast room and there are even a few places outside. Service: The service is amazing!! Everyone is so helpfull here and they explain everything to you. You can rent a motorcycle and they order it for you, then the people from the renting company deliver it to the Hotel (it starts at 250 baht for a automatic one). There are also free bycicles that you can lend at the Hotel. Area: its a bit outside but with grab or a motorcycle you are just fine!

We stayed here for four nights and loved our stay. Staff were amazing and really friendly. We got lost at one point, walking around the local area and a staff member recognised us and helped us find our way back. The room and bathroom where very clean. We especially enjoyed the little notes that where left for us from hotel staff with activity suggestions. Breakfast buffet was great, we enjoyed it very much. Overall experience at this hotel was excellent and 100% recommend staying here.

A delightfully relaxing place to stay. Rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Staff were friendly and did a great job. A couple of things to note: Location is kind of far from any points of interest unless you have a car. There is a TV - it’s all Thai channels (which is reasonable) but they do have strong internet to stream from your computer. A few stairs are a bit differently sized than others which might cause you to stumble if you don’t pay close attention. Still, one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Thailand at this price range. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location… Super clean and convenient rooms. Hands down this hotel is the cleanest hotel, I have seen in Thailand. The quality of cleaning can be seen on every corner which is so clean and the rooms are cleaned like this everyday. It is located centrally and near to all markets, places to see and markets. Would be happy to stay over again.

A large and spacious room with everything you need. Perfect for a longer stay. The location is not close to the center, but with a bike, you can get anywhere. There’s a 7-11 and a big Big C nearby. It takes about 50 minutes to walk to the center

This place was a gem! Nice, clean and spacious with a lovely owner and great staff (and all of that at a very reasonable price too). The location might not be at the center of the town, but you’re close enough to everything you might need. Even if you don’t have a scooter, the taxi fares are good here especially after what you have to pay in the South. Thank you!

This is a marvellous find. The room layout is very good. There is a nice big king size bed, plenty of wardrobe and shelf space and a separate seating area with a sofa. There is also a kitchen with a big and efficient fridge. Nice shower and toilet room. Everything is clean and tidy. The location is fine as well, short walk to the Central Plaza and Big C supermarket. The building is well maintained and there is parking if you have a car. The owner, Khun Kate, is very polite and helpful. It is not expensive, so in my mind offers tremendous value for money. They do not provide breakfast but as there is a kitchen you can buy whatever you like, from the nearby supermarket, and prepare your own to your liking. Can't imagine you would be disappointed with this find.

Located in Chiang Rai, Annahouse is a charming inn nestled amidst beautiful Rice fields. This family hotel offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring a hospitable stay for guests. The accommodations are cozy, with the family room being compact yet suitable for rest and relaxation after a day of exploring. With its convenient location away from the center of Chiang Rai, Annahouse provides tranquility and stunning views.
The accommodation is beautiful, clean, fragrant. Beautiful view of the rice fields. Water at the door every day. Breakfast included, quite rich and always welcomed with a smile, you can have breakfast and watch the fish below you. Price of the acc was really low for this awesome quality. The hotel is quite far from the center so I was sorry that the hotel does not provide scooters or any shuttle to the airport or bus. But you can rent it in centre and take bolt there.

Pros: 1. Very nice and helpful staff 2. Very quiet and clean 3. Very decent view of the hills Cons 1. Iron frame of the bed not only makes noise as one moves about but also is not good support for the body. Bed is not that soft. Hence sleep is a question mark 2. No covered parking. If you are a bigbiker who loves your bike, you need to bring your own cover. The cons unfortunately spoil all the pros. Management should urgently look into this.
Hari S — Google review
We liked the whole 3-weeks stay. It is good to take a motorbike or a car, to the center it is 3.5 km. There are few restaurants around and Amazon Cafe nearby. Calm evenings were great, with sounds of nature. Great view to the mountains and Buddha statue. Rich breakfast (sausage, rice, soup, eggs, toasts, jam, vegetable, fruits, coffee, juice and others; twice a weak extra dish - rice noodles or other). Daily water, perfect cleanup, fridge in the room, balcony. The people and the owner who took care of us were great and we will surely come in the future again.
Michal K — Google review
Not only I see sunrise and sunset at both sides of the balconies, I have views of mountain, rice field, banana trees and lots of birds. Then, it is the surprised sight of a shinning Quanqin/Boddhisattva in the distance of a starry sky. The owners are just the nicest, kindness and most helpful people. They really go out of the way to make sure I got to do all the things I am interested and give great advice and recommendations. Originally, it was the cleanliness that brought me here. Now, it is the modern new facilities, 20+ item breakfast , great service that keeps me here. So I extended my stay from 1 day to 4 days then to 6 days because I becomes so relaxed with the place and the wonderful activities I can part take, so close to these world class temples and fun hikes.
Panny P — Google review
All in all I had a good stay. I booked it because I wanted some place quiet to get some good sleep (which I did). Staff was friendly and helpful, and included breakfast was quite decent. Only thing I will say is that lighting in the room is quite bad - very cold blue/white light (even the night stand) which can make the room feel more like an office than a bedroom. Otherwise it was good.
Anton J — Google review
We loved our experience at Anna House! The place was clean, the room was quite big and there was everything you needed. The host did her best to accomodate us as well as she could. The staff were also very nice and friendly. It was a great value for the price! We loved our breakfast as well, every day the selection of Thai dishes was available but also some toasts, sausages , eggs and fresh fruits. The location is a bit outside of Chiang rai. Depending on what you need it might be an advantage or disadvantage. If you’re looking for a quiet place or you don’t mind driving it’s perfect although if you’d rather stay in the centre then it might be a disadvantage.

Pros: Good location (20 minute walk to clock tower). Clean and private bathroom. Owner is very kind and informative. AC works very well. 2 water bottles everyday. 7-11 and laundromat nearby. Hairdryer available if requested. Desk, clothes hanger, cups, & fridge in room. Nice balcony. Good shower water pressure. Cons: ants. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend.

Hotel room is clean, comfortable and has working AC. Owner is very friendly and helpful, and gave us many recommendations of local areas to visit. The hotel is close to a school which can be noisy in the mornings, and there are some small ants in the room. However, overall a good place to stay.

Firstly, Bancha (the owner) looked after us sooo well! We were late by a full day, we called up and he kept the room for us despite being fully booked! He provided us with loads of attractions, restaurants and markets to help us along with our sightseeing and travels (which led us to find some great hidden bars and venders)! The room was good for what we paid for. Well maintained and were provided drinking water and toiletries each day! Lovely budget stay hotel! Would recommend!
Daniel B — Google review
The rooms are spacious and clean. Mr. Bancha, the owner, was extremely helpful and gave us a detailed overview of all things Chiang Rai. The only minor things I could point out for nitpicking's sake are the lack of a lift and a very small bathroom, but for the top-tier location and the price we had a 6/5 experience.

This place was an absolute gem and has everything one could ask for! Everything from WiFi, to fridge, to bathroom worked perfectly. We stayed here for two nights and for the price, got plenty of space and more than expected. Owner is fantastic, on our first day we paid full price for a one day tour which we could not attend the next day due to being ill. The owner not only fully refunded us but even guided us to the most appropriate hospital to get treatment. The room is spacious and the pressure of the water including the nozzle of the shower worked perfectly. Thank you for such a memorable place! Tip: on grab the place is called ban sin, we were a bit confused looking for it.

Perfect hotel if you want a quiet private room. It has what you need : fridge, hot water, balcony, clean bed … and the owner is very nice. He gives you recommandations of what to do in the city and even gave me banana chips to try. He speaks good enough English to have a chat with him. The hotel is located a bit out of the touristic center, which is great in my opinion. You can rent bikes nearby and explore the city as well as the areas around Chiang Rai. If you want to book more, just go to the reception and they’ll give you a good price.

I am right now here while writing this as I couldn’t wait to do it later, this is just AMAZING! Exactly what I was expecting based on the comments but even better too! Personally I love it and exactly somewhere I am more comfortable to be at. The lady here is super nice, friendly and helpful,,, I like how pesceful the area is and the neighborhood feels really nice, I like every single detail about outside of the building and inside the rooms are very spacious and minimalist,, what is on top for me is cleanliness and this place has it good! The moment we walked in there was a really nice smell in the room and it is very spotless, veryy cleann! One thing as I was already expecting since it has been mentioned in the comments before is the mattress on the bed is hard, this would make the experience top notch if they had better mattress, but beside this, I am very satisfied with whatever else! For this value, this place is more than what it is! Very budget friendly, only paid around $20 for a night.

I recently stayed here for one night and I'm happy to say, it met all my expectations for a 2-star hotel. It is located in the city center but in a quieter area. We left a rental car at the hotel and took a Grab ride to dinner near the clocktower. The room was very clean and despite its modest star rating, the rooms and common areas were well-maintained. The room itself has all basic amenities. Also the service at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. In conclusion, this hotel is a great choice for travelers seeking a budget-friendly option without compromising on location, cleanliness, and friendly service. It's an ideal spot for those who prioritize practicality and convenience.

Very lovely, polite place. Rooms are big and very clean. It's good to have your own car as it is a bit out of center. However this turns the balcony seating into a calm conversation. The family run enterprise reads every wish from your eyes. Love to come again.

A wonderful place to stay if you want to be close to everything, and be able to sleep well at night! The rooms are spotlessly clean, the bed really comfortable, and the staff friendly and welcoming. There is ample parking and security. The lovely family who run the hotel even offer a complimentary breakfast of toast, cereal and snacks along with tea, coffee and hot chocolate! We will definitely book again next time we visit Chiang Rai.

Very clean, quited and mid size room. It seems like not much but when conpare for the money you pay. This is a steal!! Location might be a bit far from the city center but for me I love a peaceful place like this. Also 7/11 in walkable distance. If you fancy the same factors as described above. This is a place!! Grandma Kaew House is a guest house situated in the heart of Chiang Rai, close to its night markets and famous clock tower. The rooms here are simple but clean and cozy, with air conditioning in summer. There are many cafes and restaurants on the premises, making it an excellent spot for exploring this vibrant city.
I stayed at Grandma Kaew House (and saw the matriarch herself!) on end October 2024. I booked a double room with A/C and ensuite toilet. For the price paid and the value I received, I can recommend this place. We also rented a Honda Click motor here for THB 250/ day. Their motors and helmets are in excellent conditions. The Good: - Walking distance from the bus station. - Room was basic but comfortable. - Wifi was good. - Grandma Kaew allowed us to hang our laundry at the back to dry, and even helped to move them under shelter when we arrived later that evening. The Not So Good: - Nothing really. I thought my stay was reasonably good!

Staff was very nice, room was okay bed was super comfy, my issue is the fact we got placed right next to “reception” where the staff were super noisy and loud every morning, I just wanted to have a lay in after travelling all day that’s all so it was a bit frustrating!

Very close to the main bus station and centrally located. The rooms are immaculately clean and cleaned on a daily basis with fresh towels. The ladies that run the place are so welcoming and friendly. The beds are large and amongst the most comfortable we have experienced in our travels and there is always hot water available in the shower They also rent scooters which are a little more expensive than other places locally but the bikes are brand new and in amazing condition. Ours literally had 250km on the clock. Would recommend

We spent only two nights to explore Chiang Rai! This accommodation was ideal, providing everything we required. The air conditioning was excellent, and there were tours available for booking. They helped us book the day tour to explore the White temple, Blue temple, Long neck village etc., and it was amazing! We would have extended our stay if we hadn't already booked a flight. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful! No breakfast, but excellent restaurants nearby!
KAK K — Google review
Quite chilled and spacious room in a GuestHouse, max 10 min walk to bus station, with A/C, fridge, electric kettle. The same Guesthouse owns a motorbike rental, which is mega convenient. I would have ranked them higher, but the fact that they want to scam you with the motorbike rental is a pity. If they would be more transparent in the pricing (and even dare to post it by not deleting the price out of the advert), they would probably get more people from outside the guesthouse to rent with them. They passed me three different prices for the same bake.
Matias T — Google review
Location is pretty convenient: very close to the busstation. Scooter rental was pretty overpriced, so we went elsewhere. The room was good in general except for the bathroom, that was not ideal. We checked out late and it was no problem, but we forgot a couple of drinks so we returned 10 minutes later to retrieve them; the owners drank half of them. Kind of weird to me, we were gone for barely 10 minutes.

I stayed at The Viera Chiang Rai Hotel for three nights in March 2023 and was thoroughly impressed. The room amenities were exceptional, but what truly stood out was the incredible staff. They went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay, making me feel like I was leaving old friends upon check-out. Despite initial skepticism due to the lack of reviews, the hotel exceeded expectations with its beautiful and pristine appearance.
Clean and quiet. Beautiful design with lots of greenery. Friendly service. Perfect spot for working and traveling. Bicycles are available for guests. Mindful about the environment and recycling.

I was a little sceptical due to the lack of reviews but upon arriving at the hotel it was absolutely beautiful, like a dolls house, everything was sparkling and new. I only stayed for one night but for the price I was definitely impressed, such an aesthetically pleasing and bright building. I hope they keep up the standards because I would definitely stay again if I return to Chiang Rai.

Stayed three nights at "The Viera Chiang Rai Hotel in March 2023. There is not much to say besides "EXCELLENT"/ "EXCEPTIONAL"! The amenities in the room were exceptional. However, it was the staff (owner/manger/staff) that was the outstanding feature of this hotel. They went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make the stay a very pleasant one. Hotel
Fun-D Hotel & Hostel Chiang Rai offers a simple yet comfortable stay with dormitory rooms featuring personal lockers and private rooms with en suite bathrooms. The property provides free Wi-Fi, a restaurant with live music, and a 24-hour reception. Conveniently located within walking distance to the Clock Tower and a short drive to the White Temple, it also offers easy access to attractions like Wat Si Koet and the city center.
We paid around 540 THB per night for a deluxe double room with a private bathroom and it was pretty damn good! Spacious, incredibly clean, comfortable bed, fridge, kettle, good A/C, solid wifi most of the time, hot water in the shower, refillable soap and shampoo, water dispenser in the lobby, small snacks, bananas and instant coffee available at all times. The highlight of our stay was the gentleman at the reception, Nut, he was one of the nicest people we’ve met in SE Asia. I agree that the place looks like a “ghost town”, we barely met any other guests but we had a great stay here. It’s about 15 minutes of walking from the bus station. Even though it’s located near an intersection, the traffic wasn’t too loud during the night.

Not quite what we expected. It was like a ghost house. We were the only guests (I think). The bar / restaurant has been closed since COVID and won't reopen. Room was okay but really really basic. It was not really nice to walk to the city center. There are way better options in Chiang Rai.

A really solid hostel. Super clean and with a common room. Feels very secure due to keycard locks. Each bed has curtains a light and outlet. The curtains are really nice and give a feeling of privacy even in 8 person dorm rooms. Its reasonably well located, but a little bit further from the city center than I prefer. It was also really empty when I was there, so the atmosphere was a bit lacking.

Amazing staff. We told the owner we wanted to order a taxi for the next morning to visit temples before catching our flight. Later we heard a knock on our door and it was her and another staff member with a piece of paper. We then proceeded to sit down and plan out our experience in a manner that saved us a tremendous amount of time and money! She even gave us free bycicles for our little journey. Very clean rooms and an outstanding breakfast included. Stay here!

The WORST hotel in whole of Chiang Rai!! It is being run by lazy rude staff / owners who have no patience to answer enquiries, especially when you are an Asian tourist. They blatantly discriminate tourists. We were seriously shocked at their level of extremely bad customer service. They will NOT entertain any questions about their accommodation, and think that all guests should immediately book their place without any questions asked. If you ask any questions, they will block you on messages. Watch out for a staff named Nok who is horribly arrogant, rude and impolite. What a shame that they showcase the "very opposite" of Thai hospitality. There are ample hotels and hostels around city centre with nicer rooms and better prices and location - be sure to give Fun-D a big miss. Their aibnb listing is a big sham!
Jade L — Google review
Clean and modern hostel but you can find better value guest houses around town if there are two of you. Dorm beds are very comfortable (firm) and wide. Staff are very helpful.
Matt M — Google review
FAIR: we booked this hostel direct with the information we found on booking.com. price was fair, location was "okay" about 15m to centre and bus station. Room was big and friendly manager. Some reviews talked about free bike rental and cheap motorbike rental. This was not the case unfortunately.
Dennis V — Google review
the Hostel is new but everyone there is friendly! even i stayed in a standard dorm with shared bathrooms, it's perfectly clean and the bed is so comfortable. i had a good dream like the Hostel name's meaning in Thai!!!! if you guys visit Chiang Rai, sleep Here!!

We had an amazing stay here. The owner and his team and just lovely! They made us feel at home and couldn’t do enough for us. We extended our stay by two nights and we would love to stay again. They even gave us breakfast before our 5am bus. The best hospitality we have received in Thailand.

We had a very budget friendly and comfortable stay here. The beds were extremely comfy and provided a great night sleep. Naig the host was super friendly and very chatty, he was very helpful with recommendations and ensuring we had a good stay.

One of the nicest hostel dorm experiences in all of Thailand without a question. Comfortable beds, clean, a fridge in the room, good shower/bathroom. There's a free included breakfast, which was very good. Location is fine, 20 min walk to downtown, not much in the area but there are some restaurants and food stands, and (obviously) a 711 next door.

Excellent in every aspect of our stay. Rooms were spotless. Breakfast, which was included, was a beautiful buffet of local foods, fruits, eggs, rice, juice, coffee, breads, etc. Owners spoke very good English and were helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!

The owners are the sweetest and had the best time staying here for 2 nights, I wish I could stay more at Sabun Nga hostel. They even have double rooms and a big area to host buffet dinners. The staff was courteous and the best part was the delicious complimentary breakfast served. It is highly recommended for solo backpackers, couples, and families.

The best hostels stayed in on my travels. The staff were so warm, friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The breakfast was great and the rooms were big and spacious. Highly recommend to anyone staying on Chiang Rai

Spent a few days here. Location is good, you can easily access to the city center by foot. Rooms are simple, but renovated and clean. Overall the place is nice. Last, but not least: welcoming and helpful english speaking owners. For ex.: the room lock gets broken a little, it was hard to use it. I asked on reception and they said "ok, tomorrow". I thought "tomorrow" means "never", but I was wrong, next day I got the new key for the new lock on my door. They also partnered with some motorbike rental service, so it was easy and convenient to rent a scooter. I'm completely satisfied. Next time in Chiang Ray I'll stay there again.

The main manager of the hotel is such a nice and social guy, he was always happy to give advise on which places to go and he even let me and my friend make a salad in the hotel kitchen lika wahhh that was so sweet. The price is not the cheapest possible, but it's worth it, because there is a delicious breakfast included as well as live music every weekend (if I got it right). The free gym is pretty hard to get used to and does not offer too many options, but it was fun anyways. The room was perfect, no complaints at all. Also the restaurant area was really relaxing to hang out there. Would recommend.
