Hands-on science museum with a planetarium, IMAX theatre, butterfly gallery & programs for all ages.

One of the coolest museums here in Ontario. Definitely a must see when in Sudbury. Plenty of things that can amaze the young ones and young at heart. They also have a Lego Exhibit as of this time. Our favourite is the 4th Level where the exhibits are interactive. The place and washrooms are clean. Parkings $6 for whole day. The cafeteria is somewhat basic and limited options but kids love it. The staffs are amazing, super friendly and accommodating.
Science North in Sudbury is one of the coolest museums you can visit! It’s packed with interactive exhibits, fun science machines, and even AI-powered robots that make the experience exciting for all ages. There’s so much to explore — from hands-on learning zones to live demonstrations — and kids will especially love it. The planetarium is a must-see and adds a whole new level of wow to your visit. You’ll definitely need a full day to enjoy everything this amazing place has to offer. A perfect spot for families, science lovers, and curious minds!
Science North in Sudbury is a fun and educational destination that offers plenty of hands-on exhibits for visitors of all ages. From wildlife displays and space exhibits to the IMAX theatre and planetarium, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the interactive demonstrations make science come alive. The centre is well-organized and located in a beautiful setting by the lake, which adds to the overall experience. The only downside is that admission can feel a bit pricey, especially for families, and some exhibits could use a refresh. Still, it’s a great place to spend a few hours learning, exploring, and having fun — one of the top attractions in Northern Ontario!
Definitely a museum worth visiting, especially for kids! It is a bit pricey but between Dynamic Earth and Science North, we chose this as it seemed to offer so much more. There are four floors to explore, and although they may seem a bit small, you'll be surprised that you can easily spend 3-5 hours here with no effort. Make sure to get your tickets in advance online. Parking is paid but is only $6 for the day, basically.
Our road trip brought us to Science North—and it was such a good stop. We’ve been to other science centres, but this one left an impression. The Brick Master Studio LEGO exhibit was incredible. I especially liked the hummingbird (a bit biased there) The Science Theatre was a highlight—bubbles, fire, reptiles—we caught every show. Each floor had something to offer, and even our older kids stayed engaged. From racing your own car to putting together a brain, it was hands-on all the way. The only downside was the 3D printing—it took longer than expected, and the pieces were so tiny they were lost before we even left the parking lot. Still, great conversations while waiting. Definitely worth the stop—interactive, surprising, and full of moments we’ll remember.
The Science North center in Sudbury is massive, with so much to do; we been here twice, full day trips each time, and have yet to fully explore the museum. There are lots of interactive activities for children and adults alike; not to mention the planetarium and the IMAX theater. In our most recent visit they also had a massive Lego exhibit, showcasing some very unique Lego creations.
One of the iconic landmarks in Sudbury. One can easily spend hours here exploring around. There are numerous interactive shows inside and activities outside the building. The best part of my visit - stargazing at night in front of the building and lake. ✨ 🌌 Highly recommended!!
Very good for kids and family alike. Planetarium showcases planets, consolation and stars. Building centre is good for the creative minds to build Lego. Of course a phenomenal display of Lego design. IMAX is incredible, we watched Ocean Paradise. You get to learn few Atolls built from volcano eruptions. Level 4 is for the engineer that loves to tinkle and build Kinetix cars. Best part is after building it, race it on the oval electric track! Restrooms on every floor. Wheelchair accessible. Lots of free parking. Food available, it's OK. Pizza, sandwich, burgers and fries.

Great fun for adults and kids. Interactive exhibits with very knowledgeable staff, rock tumbling stations and even a quiet corner. Don’t miss out on the tunnel experience. Bring a post card and drop it in the second deepest mail box in the world!
Really cool earth science and mining museum and the mine tour is fun, too. Well done workshops and the kids loved exploring all of the types of mineral. Worth the trip!
Had a great time here with my family. The kids (and their parents) had a great time geeking out with all the rocks and minerals around. There are lots of great play areas for kids 12 and under, including an outdoor play park. My younger kids mostly stayed in the lower level's climbing structure and had a lot of fun being miners with other kids. There are also activities that you can do (like a scavenger hunt) to get points, and those points can be used to choose a rock to take home for free. The mine tour was a lot of fun and has changed a lot since I last visited when I was a kid. Great information, and Addison was a great tour guide with knowledgeable answers and patience for curious kids. One piece of advice to consider when you're planning your trip is to be aware that everything is labelled "Science North" - even though you're booking admission and an underground tour at Dynamic Earth. The tickets you book for the mining tour are from "Science North" and have the Science North address on it without indicating that the tour is located at a different venue (no other address is provided). I imagine it could be confusing for people who aren't familiar with how things are set up. You must buy admission to Dynamic Earth, and then the Underground tour is an add-on to that.
Good exhibits and explanations. Blue hats are wonderful helper. They answer your questions and explain about different minerals and process. Underground mine tour was well worth time and money. Under ground tour is about 1&1/2 hour and you need at least 1 hour to see exhibits.
Dynamic Earth in Sudbury is a fascinating and educational attraction that brings the world of mining and geology to life. The underground mine tour is the highlight — an immersive experience that lets you explore real mining tunnels and learn about Sudbury’s rich mining history. It’s informative, fun, and great for both kids and adults. The exhibits inside are interactive and engaging, and of course, the Big Nickel outside is a must-see for photos. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, making the whole visit enjoyable. Tip: Be sure to book your underground tour in advance, as spots can fill up quickly, especially on weekends or holidays. Overall, a well-run and educational attraction that’s definitely worth visiting when in Sudbury!
Stopped here on our way through Sudbury woth our Scout Group. Very cool to see the giant pickle and some of the displays in the visitor center. Also did the mine tour and the kids loved it. A little pricey for the tour bit it was lots of fun.
The mine tour was really cool, definitely geared towards kids and teens, but still though ally enjoyed it as adults. Some of the interactive pieces were well worn or broken, but still cool. There was a lot of really cool information about minerals from around the world, what they are and what their raw states look like by actual examples.
3 out of 4 of our group had never been to Sudbury, we visited Dynamic Earth to understand the mining industry and see the steps taken to improve safety and production. It was a great and entertaining tour, after which we also took in a 25 minute film about how they largely removed sulfur dioxide from their processes.

A beautiful park in the heart of Sudbury, ONtario by the side of Ramsey lake. Natural, green, with changing fall color, small beaches at interval, long walkway for walking, jogging and riding. Simply enjoy the serene of the nature by sitting in cozy bench. Feed the birds and squirrels- they are so friendly. bell park is a natural beauty in the heart of Sudbury. Dont miss visiting it.
Nice urban park. Plenty of parking. Lots of places to sit. Nice views of the lake Not overly pretty. Not very many animals. There is a large water park for kids. Probably have to pay, it looks really fun for the kids. 🌊
I have just visited Sudbury and found this park. Such a clean, beautiful and huge park. The park is nicely designed. You can have a view of lake while walking. There are a part for water play and playground for kids near the beach. Free parking lots and clean washrooms. Good to know that parking lot is other side of intersection.
The park has a beautiful boardwalk and a Waterpark. Great place to sit at one of the many benches and relax and take in the sunshine. The amphitheater looks pretty cool, I haven't heard a band there yet,but plan to in the near future. Even a little sandy beach to grab a quick dip in the water!
It was my first time visiting the park and it was absolutely beautiful, I happened to go the same day as RibFest so that was even better ! They have lots of available benches with great views Bins in very good locations so there’s no litter and tons of space if you decide to sit on the grass and have a nice picnic. I had a great time just being able to be present and relaxed in that space.
Beautiful! A must see if you're in the area. Well maintained paths to go for a nice walk. In the winter it is so beautiful with the snow and can walk across the lake if you choose. Snow hills for tobogganing and pretty safe. Would recommend, especially to walk your furry friend or take some pretty pictures. Accessible paths as well so could use a walker/wheelchair or stroller but some patches can be icy in winter so would need to be careful.
Located in Central Sudbury. Great place to bring kids as there is a big park and a small beach. The path is great for strollers, with many benches and picnic tables along the way. Great spot to watch the sun rise or set!
Photoshoots are easily done here. Couples, family portraits, and finding friendly dog owners walking their pet, here is such a great place to take some awesome photographs. In summer they have all sort of events like food festival and concerts.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Not an easy hike tho. Make sure to get prepared. You may run into a bear or two but that's fine.
Lake Laurentian Conservation Area, near Laurentian University in Sudbury, is a serene and picturesque escape into nature. With its well-maintained trails, lush greenery, and peaceful ambiance, it’s the perfect spot for hiking, birdwatching, or simply unwinding. Some trails are temporarily closed due to reforestation efforts, but the open paths still offer plenty of exploration. One of the highlights is the beautiful wooden staircase that winds through the forest, adding a charming touch to the hike. The sunset here is breathtaking, casting golden hues over the lake—ideal for nature lovers and photographers. At the top of the hill, there’s a stunning viewpoint framed by a wooden structure, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. If you're planning a hike in Sudbury, the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area is a must-visit, especially if you start from the Moonlight Beach entrance. The trails are scenic and peaceful, with lots of natural beauty, from rocky outcrops to quiet forested paths and occasional lake views. 🚶‍♂️ Trail Experience: The trail is fairly long, stretching from Moonlight Beach on one end and leading all the way toward Lake Laurentian on the other. It’s a moderate hike – not too difficult, but definitely a bit of a workout, especially if you're doing the full route. Bring water and wear good shoes. ⚠️ Bear Awareness: Be cautious – this is a natural conservation area, and there have been sightings of black bears in the region. Stay alert, avoid hiking alone if possible, and make some noise while walking. It’s a good idea to carry a whistle or bear bell and keep food sealed up. 🌿 Overall Vibe: A great spot for nature lovers, with quieter trails than some other parts of Sudbury. It’s well-maintained, and the entry from Moonlight Beach adds a bonus of starting or ending your hike with a bit of lakeside relaxation. ✅ Tips: Start early if you're doing the whole trail. Check trail maps beforehand. Watch for wildlife and respect posted signs.
Lake Laurentian Conservation Area - A must visit trail if visiting Sudbury for nature/leisure reasons! The trails are divided into many different directions, but view from each of the trails are all beautiful. Each trail is different in length, which is perfect to plan ahead to invest specific hours. The conservation area is located very close to the downtown of Sudbury, and it is a very dog friendly trail - poop bags are provided near the nature chalet.

I wanted to do a short hike with a view of Lake Laurentian, and this hit the spot. Lovely little 20 minute hike on the Chickadee Trail.
The trails are awesome. The hikes are beautiful in every season. Kayaking to see all the animals, the family of Loons, the turtles and don't get too close but the beavers are cool to watch.

We had a great time at this park, we love the fact that it is dog friendly.. our site was big and clean when we arrived. We drove over to Onaping Falls and did a hike there… it was beautiful.. our pup loved the dog beach.. my only complaint would be the bathrooms could be a bit cleaner then they were. The train horns were loud but they didn’t bother us at all.. they may bug some people tho.
What a great little park. We stayed on site 71. It was huge and private. I would have given it 5 star but the ground is made of clay and when it rained hard we had a lake. The staff was really great and brought a pump to pump us out. We've never seen a bigger dog beach anywhere else. Just a short drive down the road, there's a beautiful waterfall made from a meteor. We will be coming back. Ps we encountered a wolf coming out of the woods while picking wild blueberries.
Very nice campground, we got lucky to last minute booked the walk in sites which was right beside the lake. It’s cold at night. So for these who are visiting in September, please bring enough blanket and clothes. Kids & pet friendly. The ground is in a good condition. The waterfall pics are from a trail called AY Falls. Highly recommended to check it out. 2km only, but a lot of fun! The starry sky was from the campsite that we booked - W7. That spot is amazing!!!!!
My wife and I just came back from a Winter camping trip spending 2 nights in a Yurt at Windy lake Provincial Park. The Yurts are located within a few minutes walk from the parking lot where you can bring your camping gear using a sleight. Aside from dealing with 2 to 3 trains at night, it was a great experience sleeping inside the Yurt and hiking the trails around the park. The Yurts are located close to heated bathrooms which is always nice in cold weather. Staffs at the park were awesome and very pleasant. The only draw back is that the Yurt we were in is starting to show its age and would be due for a MAJOR upgrade. Overall great experience, thanks again to the staff.
Always stunning, always windy, this park has been a favorite for years, the walk in sites especially. As one who likes comfort and ease of set up, the inconvenience of carrying in the stuff, an extra 30 steps, at most, is easily overshadowed by stunning g views, curious (small) wildlife and a literal lakeside campsite.stunning pictures are easy with no nearby man-made light. And as a city folk, hearing the train come through a couple times a night adds a bit of the sounds of home
Overall we had a nice stay. The tent sites are very spacious and 2 picnic tables were on the site, which was nice. The bath house could use an update and I was surprised to see a metal slide on the playground, but the tent spots were great! There is a train that runs fairly regularly and could be heard very clearly. Picture is of site 18.
I loved this park. The main beach is huge and it was not crowded at all - I went after lunch on an August Friday. The water wasn't too cold so very swimmable. The beach isn't sandy but the pebbles are pretty tiny so it's not uncomfortable. Signage was quite easy to follow. There's also a playground for the kiddies right on the beach and lots of green lawn and trees to hide from the sun if the day is too hot. Many picnic tables are available and restrooms are on the lawn. I can't wait to go here again and spend an entire day!
