Beard's Coffee Bar And Bakery is Sudbury's first vegan bakery, offering a variety of dairy and egg-free treats. The shop serves strong brews from Propellor Coffee and Old Rock Roastery alongside their delectable baked goods such as cookies, scones, cupcakes, pie, bars, donuts, muffins, and cinnamon buns. Located in the trendy Donovan area of Sudbury with a spacious patio adorned with lush greenery and wooden benches.
Beards is a really really nice vegan cafe, they had a nice selection of classic cafe drinks with multiple vegan milk options - we had a vanilla oat latte that was great. Then they have a bunch of really delicious looking baked goods (also vegan) and we had the best donut we had ever had! A lemon poppy seed donut 😍 it was so good! Highly recommend! They do have a little sitting area too, kind of a sit up bar style on either side of the cafe and it looks like in the summer they would have outside seating which would also be very very cute ! If you’re in the area, it’s definitely a good spot to check out, especially if you’re vegan but honestly even if you’re not, you will not be disappointed with their treats!
Jess G — Google review
Cute little coffee shop on Kathleen. Atmosphere and service was great! Was not a fan of our drinks. We had the matcha and golden milk, both of which were extremely powdery and honestly off putting. Was rather disappointed after reading the reviews for this place. The desserts however were delicious and fresh! Would try again to give them another chance
Jana A — Google review
Great choice of fresh baked goods. Great service. We loved the atmosphere.
Krista C — Google review
All the pastries and doughnuts we ordered at Beard's were great! What a wonderful place! We have a vegan in the family and he was very, very happy to be eating a croissant.
Aimee J — Google review
I had a wonderful experience here! Everything was excellent, and the bakery was amazing—especially the cinnamon buns are ♥️.
Anurag A — Google review
Phenomenal baking treats & service! The absolute best chocolate chip cookie of my life, didn't even realize it was vegan until I looked up the bakery online afterwards! We love to support great local shops like Beards
Kelsey — Google review
Just loved this cozy bakery. Staff was friendly and helpful. Coffee was amazing. Tart cakes and the goodies were flavourful and delicious. A must visit if your in Sudbury.
Jonathan B — Google review
My #1 stop in Sudbury. The coffee is u real (I am a coffee connoisseur and the coffee is on par with top toronto cafés.) The service personable and friendly, the front patio is adorable, and the baked goods, including the gluten free selection, are to die for. Beards makes me feel like I'm back in the big city. Impeccable quality.

Bakery
Leinala's Bakery Limited is a cherished gem in the heart of Sudbury, boasting over 60 years of tradition in Finnish baking. This delightful bakery offers an array of mouthwatering treats that will tantalize your taste buds, from fluffy buns and delectable doughnuts to savory meat pies and rich fruit cakes. Among their standout offerings are the cardamom twisted sweet coffee bun and the beloved jelly pig donuts, which have become local favorites.
Tasty baked goods for a good price. Got 6 items and they were all gone within a couple of hours. We loved the jelly pigs. Fresh. The fillings in the other baked good were really good as well.
Lyudmyla P — Google review
I was lucky enough to get some jelly pigs fresh out of the fryer to bring to my client office today. Everyone was so excited! Thank you Leinala's for making me seem like a hero. :)
Lisa M — Google review
This bakery is fantastic! Everything I’ve tried has been delicious, but I have to give a special shout-out to their jelly pigs – they are hands down the best treat, they're always fresh and so addictive. The bakery itself is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and a great selection of baked goods. Whether you're grabbing a quick snack or treating yourself to something special, this place never disappoints!
Eeby — Google review
Jelly pigs were good. Service was very rushed and pushy. I was the only person in the shop and the lady behind the counter kept pushing me to make a decision on what I wanted - this was my first time there so I wanted to look. I took my order of jelly pigs and she immedately pushed for me to take 12 saying in a very loud voice "It's the weekend". I only wanted two but went with 6 as she already put 6 in the bag. I ask about the other donuts which were the honey variety and she said again 6 or 12 and I insisted only two, but again in a loud voice " It's the weekend"..."take 12". This was a very strange experience and not something I would ever recommend anyone going out of their way for. I'd hope they would learn some tact and appropriate demeanor.
Dave C — Google review
Leinala's has been a local favourite for years. It is locally owned and bakes some wonderful Finnish specialties such a pulla and jelly pigs. If you haven't tried them; you'll be pleased.
L F — Google review
Honestly loved this little place except the meat pie. There really wasn't much meat to it.. felt more like a rice pie. Got there early but the baked goods were not ready, so another minus there. Jelly pig was exactly how I imagined it to taste like, yummy fried dough with jelly fillings. Should at least try it once if you're from out of town. Got a Finnish coffee as a souvenir(green one) and I love it😁
Jun B — Google review
Whether you're of Finnish heritage or not, you will want to visit Leinala's Bakery. It's a terrific bakery filled with delicious treats!

Coffee shop
Pinchman's in Sudbury is a popular cafe known for serving delicious pastries and light meals. Their almond croissant paired with a flat white is recommended for a quick snack. The cafe's pastries are described as buttery and melt-in-your-mouth, while their coffees and lattes have a great aroma. Although some sandwiches may lack flavor, the overall experience at Pinchman's is considered nice.
Some of the best pastries I have had in a long time. The Italian baker there made some very nice Italian cookies like ginetties and biscotti. Also tried the croissants , almond and chocolate were to die for. And the sour dough bread was incredible. Highly recommend!
Anthony C — Google review
First time here! They didn’t have the sandwich I had originally wanted, which may have been a blessing in disguise, because the one the employee recommended (some kind of chicken/pesto/grilled cheese) was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The employee was very friendly, and service was quick despite it being rather busy. Plenty of seating and parking which is very important. The cold brew was alright, but that’s on me for not asking more questions about it before ordering. The chocolate cupcake I got was incredibly dry, though the frosting was delightful and almost made up for it.
Jayde V — Google review
Can you say buttery?! Their pastries are incredibly delicious and buttery. They basically melt in your mouth. Not to mention the size of these croissants! Their coffees and lattes have a great aroma! Their Reuben and Ham & Gruyère sandwiches were warm and decent though not as tasty as I had hoped, without too much flavour aside from that of the bread and pastries themselves. Overall, pretty nice caffè!
Corina S — Google review
We tried the Chicken Empanada and Sausage Roll. Both were very bad. They were tasteless, and wasn’t even heated through. The empanada was for 9 dollars, absolute waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Chaitanya D — Google review
I almost took off a star because there was too much to choose from! The croissants and sourdough are amazing. I thought my buttertart stuffed cookie was going to have an ooey gooey centre, but the keylime cheesecake and coconut cream tarts were fantastic.
Nadine R — Google review
Excellent espresso, and EXCELLENT chocolate croissant. The combination of the strong somewhat bitter espresso and the croissant are a match made in heaven! Busy place, plenty of parking.
Peter V — Google review
Went in with my 6 year old while waiting for an appointment. I asked her what she wanted she told me bread. I bought an overpriced loaf of Light Rye. Was told they would not cut me a slice off the loaf I just paid for. They offered to let me use a butter knife. When I asked again I was told it was "restaurant policy" not to slice loaves in any way. The 3 young servers rolled their eyes at me and acted like elitist little socialites. 26$ for a loaf of bread, a croissant and an empanada. Service was abysmal. Shame on these people. Shame.
James A — Google review
Was my first time there, and I will definitely be back. The food was delicious and the coffee was hot. The staff were very friendly. It's a great place to get fresh bread and their cinnamon rolls looked good, that's on my list for next time.

Marble Slab Creamery is a delightful destination for ice cream lovers, specializing in small-batch creations that are hand-blended with an array of delicious mix-ins. One standout offering is their custom cakes, like the banana flavor paired with double mix-ins of banana and caramel, which has left many customers raving about its taste. While some may have mixed feelings about changes to certain flavors like cookie dough, the overall experience remains enjoyable.
This cake was the best cake I have ever tasted. It was a custom cake. I ordered banana flavor with double mixins: banana and caramel. I love it!
Nicole L — Google review
The ice cream itself is pretty good, some good options for ice cream plus the mix ins are unlimited which is nice. $17 for 2 smalls is pretty crazy. You can get 3 containers of Ben and Jerry's for that. But the price is pretty steep and not worth it for what you get. I got a small bowl and it was a tiny scoop. The service was unfriendly at best and not at all welcoming. They also removed lots of seating and just have a long bench and a couple awkward tables.
Shyla M — Google review
I have come here a few times in the last month and every single time I am met with the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Not once have I been greated with a hello or, what can I get for you. There is no friendly banter or even a smile. They are all emotionless robots. It completely ruins that fun/happy vibe you should experience at an ice cream store.
Britt B — Google review
I love this place but the cashier didn't believe me that I was a dinosaur
Wakiya A — Google review
Very disappointed with our experience here. When we came in during the night, there were hardly any flavors available (no chocolate, my fave!), and the mix ins available were only things such as chocolate chips, gummies, etc... I was so looking forward to having some fresh fruit with my ice cream as a treat. With the price tag of this place, I definitely wasn't satisfied :(
Morning S — Google review
Excellent place for a cool treat, just remember to keep the tables cleaned even when it's busy!
Lorna F — Google review
Just over $12 for aprox 2cups of plain vanilla ice cream, no topping. They don't wear gloves while serving and we all know how good their hygiene is. If hands would have touched what I was being served I would not have accepted it.

My fiancee and I stopped by Bitter Bill’s on a nostalgic trip to where she spent time at her grandparents’. This place was amazing - the owner was super friendly and our frozen yogurt with daily made waffle cones were amazing. I got the Nutella and banana which I loved, and she loved hers as well - with raspberries.

Dairy Queen, a renowned fast-food chain, offers delectable soft-serve ice cream and delightful signature shakes as their top offerings. This classic establishment has gained popularity throughout the years. One incident from the past involved an employee who expressed frustration by throwing ice cream and leaving in anger, despite not being directed towards anyone specific. However, aside from this isolated event, Dairy Queen continues to provide excellent service with a sizable staff to ensure minimal waiting times for customers.
My beautiful cake was ordered, it was super delicious from here, chocolate ice cream, cookie, vanilla! Order it online and then just pick up! excellent service. good prices!

Great little Dairy Queen spot! While it’s a small location with no seating inside, they make up for it with quick service and friendly staff who keep things moving smoothly, even when it gets busy. There’s plenty of parking, so picking up your order is super convenient. I highly recommend using the DQ app to place your order ahead of time—it makes pickup even faster and hassle-free. And if you’ve got a furry friend in the car, don’t forget to treat them to a plain cone. Ours loved it!

Very easy to order a birthday cake online. I picked it up and the 2 ladies that was working there at the time was very friendly and helpful, asked if there was anything else they could help with. Was a perfect birthday cake, for a good price! Loved the design! Thanks so much!

I often go to Dairy Queen on Lorne St with my daughter for a small cone. Last week, she had a meltdown (she is autistic) over the exit door being broken (cause stuff happens). Ordered a cake for my son's birthday. They misspelled the word "Birthday" and refused to give me a refund when the mistake was on their end. Only offered me $10 off my next purchase. Even when the cake was over $30... No customer service skills. No consideration. I will not be returning back for cakes in the future. They los the service of my friends and family.

Got two cones, both were made tiny with the outside of the cone not filled. When I brought out that it was done wrong I was told “this is how they’re always done and that I probably got a bigger one by accident at some point.” This staff member needs to be retained in not only how to properly make cone but how to deal with customer interactions
Kyle C — Google review
Tired to email this, however DQ website requires I share my home address to email your store. Purchased an Oreo Blizzard cake on Feb 16, and noticed today it appears there is an extra layer of vanilla hiding where it should be filled with Oreo Blizzard. This is too large of an abnormality to be a blending error. This appears to be done purposely to cut store topping costs. Blizzard cakes cost more than regular ice cream cakes and they are supposed to be filled entirely with Blizzard on the layer above the cookie centre. I am not trusting of this location. Update/edit: Store owner is ignoring my review while replying to others. Evidence is in the photo, can't make it up! -signed former 5yr DQ Maganer. You've received 3 1star reviews this week alone...poor management and ownership.
Kelsey — Google review
I went to this location multiple times. It's a hit or Miss.. I noticed that whenever I ask for a triple chocolate brownie blizzard, the blizzard always seems to be white with just a tinge of brown. I used to work at dairy Queen so I know the topping ratio for a small. I feel like they're not following the proper ratios. It happens quite frequently... I literally have to pay an up charge In toppings just to make sure that I get the blizzard that I wanted originally... That's not to say that this happens every single time, but it does happen quite frequently... Another thing that I noticed is: when making blizzards, and they are different flavors you need to clean the spool with water in between..., At least that's how it used to be when I worked at dairy Queen. I often get blizzards with other toppings inside of them and it grosses me right out.. that is cross-contamination so perhaps some stuff need to be retrained on how to properly clean a blizzard machine in between orders. I get it can be busy sometimes, but it's very important for the flavor. Other than that, the service does seem to be generally nice.
Tia L — Google review
Quick, friendly service. And a nice sitting area. Parking isn't great, but that's not an issue because you're only parked for a few minutes anyway.

My family and I were visiting Sudbury last week and I had researched some ice cream options before we arrived. It seemed to have some great reviews, and we weren't disappointed. I have 3 little girls, who when we walked in, were excited to see all the little chocolates on display. The ice cream flavours were great and they all picked something they loved. My husband also got ice cream and I got an Italian Soda (I asked the owner for her favourite suggestions). It was also really yummy, black cherry and lime. They had a few tables out front that we sat at and enjoyed our treat. If we are ever in Sudbury again, we will for sure stop in for another visit!

I love Tim Hortons but this location piss me off so much. I get that the staff are busy but they never listen or read the actual orders that customers put in. For example, my friend can’t stand the taste of sauce in her food so she make sure to ask for no sauce, but even when she does they always put sauce and blame it on it is “busy”. Which I get that but it happened at least 5 times since the beginning of the year. Next example is when I get a tea from there and I ask for honey, they either don’t put the amount I asked for, or they just don’t put any at all. Today I went in and asked to make sure that there was honey in my tea, and the staff member looked at me straight in the eyes and said yes. Because I was in a rush I left the store without tasting my tea. When I eventually did, it was bitter. No sweet added at all. Plus this time it wasn’t busy. Idk what we have to do to feel listen there. It seems to me that they do it on purpose to ignore what we put in for our orders. Very annoying and disrespectful.
