Dynamic Earth is an interactive museum located in Sudbury, featuring a giant outdoor nickel sculpture and earth science exhibits. The museum offers educational and entertaining experiences for visitors of all ages. It focuses on the city's mining heritage, with opportunities to explore underground mines and learn about the impact of mining on Sudbury and Canada. Visitors can enjoy hands-on activities, such as panning for gold on a simulated stream table and taking mine tours to experience the equipment used in the past.
Great fun for adults and kids. Interactive exhibits with very knowledgeable staff, rock tumbling stations and even a quiet corner. Don’t miss out on the tunnel experience. Bring a post card and drop it in the second deepest mail box in the world!
Yvonne B — Google review
Really cool earth science and mining museum and the mine tour is fun, too. Well done workshops and the kids loved exploring all of the types of mineral. Worth the trip!
Aidan L — Google review
Had a great time here with my family. The kids (and their parents) had a great time geeking out with all the rocks and minerals around. There are lots of great play areas for kids 12 and under, including an outdoor play park. My younger kids mostly stayed in the lower level's climbing structure and had a lot of fun being miners with other kids. There are also activities that you can do (like a scavenger hunt) to get points, and those points can be used to choose a rock to take home for free. The mine tour was a lot of fun and has changed a lot since I last visited when I was a kid. Great information, and Addison was a great tour guide with knowledgeable answers and patience for curious kids. One piece of advice to consider when you're planning your trip is to be aware that everything is labelled "Science North" - even though you're booking admission and an underground tour at Dynamic Earth. The tickets you book for the mining tour are from "Science North" and have the Science North address on it without indicating that the tour is located at a different venue (no other address is provided). I imagine it could be confusing for people who aren't familiar with how things are set up. You must buy admission to Dynamic Earth, and then the Underground tour is an add-on to that.
Jason B — Google review
Good exhibits and explanations. Blue hats are wonderful helper. They answer your questions and explain about different minerals and process. Underground mine tour was well worth time and money. Under ground tour is about 1&1/2 hour and you need at least 1 hour to see exhibits.
Krushnakant S — Google review
Dynamic Earth in Sudbury is a fascinating and educational attraction that brings the world of mining and geology to life. The underground mine tour is the highlight — an immersive experience that lets you explore real mining tunnels and learn about Sudbury’s rich mining history. It’s informative, fun, and great for both kids and adults. The exhibits inside are interactive and engaging, and of course, the Big Nickel outside is a must-see for photos. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, making the whole visit enjoyable. Tip: Be sure to book your underground tour in advance, as spots can fill up quickly, especially on weekends or holidays. Overall, a well-run and educational attraction that’s definitely worth visiting when in Sudbury!
Nafiz I — Google review
Stopped here on our way through Sudbury woth our Scout Group. Very cool to see the giant pickle and some of the displays in the visitor center. Also did the mine tour and the kids loved it. A little pricey for the tour bit it was lots of fun.
Chris N — Google review
The mine tour was really cool, definitely geared towards kids and teens, but still though ally enjoyed it as adults. Some of the interactive pieces were well worn or broken, but still cool. There was a lot of really cool information about minerals from around the world, what they are and what their raw states look like by actual examples.
Lisa S — Google review
3 out of 4 of our group had never been to Sudbury, we visited Dynamic Earth to understand the mining industry and see the steps taken to improve safety and production. It was a great and entertaining tour, after which we also took in a 25 minute film about how they largely removed sulfur dioxide from their processes.

Laughing Buddha is a popular eatery in Sudbury known for its global beers, creative pizzas, and lively patio. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with options ranging from creative pizzas to sandwiches, salads, and house-made tapenades and dips. The atmosphere at Laughing Buddha is described as upbeat and vibrant, with a red-bricked alley setting adorned with hanging plants. In addition to its craft beer selection, the restaurant caters to various dietary preferences including vegetarian and vegan options.
I am vegetarian and was staying nearby. I already had searched for food options before arriving in Sudbury. I ordered the Vegan Pepperoni pizza and it was pretty darn good. I would recommend the kitchen add some fresh basil just to make it "pop on the plate" so to speak. A little color contrast. My only critique.
MF S — Google review
The atmosphere is extraordinary! I haven’t had the chance to try the food yet, but the drinks never disappoint. Truly some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had — and that’s saying a lot, because I’m not usually a cocktail person. Can’t wait to come back!
Anna E — Google review
We got their bao and a pizza with a couple drinks and a desert. Very reasonably priced and very delicious. The pizza crust was thin and well cooked, the bao was stuffed with toppings and was really good. The fried oyster mushrooms on it were crunchy and flavourful, I'm not normally a fan of mushrooms but these hit the spot. They had a habanero apple cake which was delightful. I've never had a spicy cake but it was a bit hit. Their patio was nice, staff were friendly and all around a great dining experience.
Daniel C — Google review
Absolutely nun wrong with the Buddha. The menu has glowed up big time over the last little bit. The smashburger, the fried mushrooms, and the pizzas all bang. The key is to ask for the pizzas well done. Gotta be a go to spot in sudbury for an evening bite n drink.
Mateo O — Google review
Hi there, I just wanted to give some feedback. I visited recently and ordered two whiskey sours — there was no price listed, and I was charged $30 for two very small drinks. I wouldn’t have ordered them if I’d known the cost. I felt blindsided and honestly a bit ripped off. Just thought you should know in case you want to be more transparent for future customers.
Branden L — Google review
You know how in real estate it’s all about location? Well, if the restaurant business is all about “atmosphere atmosphere atmosphere” then the Laughing Buddha wins - big time. The side patio features a canopy of trees, beautiful lighting, and gas fireplace tabletops (not making this up). It has perfect “let’s go on a date….and let’s make it romantic” kind of vibes. Food is varied with a cool middle eastern flavor running through the menu. My wife and I loved the experience and will return next time we are in Sudbury.
Marc M — Google review
This place is absolutely excellent, when I was in Sudbury I had the opportunity to walk all the streets of the downtown core area. Of all the places I checked out, this is by far the best. I had dinner one evening and stopped in for lunch the next day, both experiences were excellent. During the evening, this is where the nightlife seems to be at its best. If you're a fan of pickles, I highly recommend the dill pizza. The serving staff was on point. There's a beautiful outside patio with seating including personalized fireplaces in the center.

She is very knowledgeable, always keeps you informed on what she is doing, and is extremely attentive. We discussed my skin concerns and desired goals during my first appointment and she took the time to explain different treatments that would help me reach my goals, and I can’t wait for the results!!

I’m so glad I found this place! I just had my first facial appointment with Teri and she is such a gem of a human! Being an extremely busy mom of two babies, aesthetician, and business owner I don’t often take much time for myself but she provided me with the relaxation and girl time that I was needing. Thank you Teri 💕

I had an amazing experience getting Botox today with Karlie. She was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. I saw Terri for microneedling and she was an absolute gem. She explained everything thoroughly, and was very welcoming. Atmosphere is great, and staff are very knowledgeable.

The sprawling urban park offers playgrounds for children, Blue Flag beaches with lifeguards, and casual trails along Ramsey Lake leading to Science North. A beautiful park in the heart of Sudbury, ONtario by the side of Ramsey lake. Natural, green, with changing fall color, small beaches at interval, long walkway for walking, jogging and riding. Simply enjoy the serene of the nature by sitting in cozy bench. Feed the birds and squirrels- they are so friendly. bell park is a natural beauty in the heart of Sudbury. Dont miss visiting it.

Nice urban park. Plenty of parking. Lots of places to sit. Nice views of the lake Not overly pretty. Not very many animals. There is a large water park for kids. Probably have to pay, it looks really fun for the kids. 🌊

I have just visited Sudbury and found this park. Such a clean, beautiful and huge park. The park is nicely designed. You can have a view of lake while walking. There are a part for water play and playground for kids near the beach. Free parking lots and clean washrooms. Good to know that parking lot is other side of intersection.
Setareh G — Google review
The park has a beautiful boardwalk and a Waterpark. Great place to sit at one of the many benches and relax and take in the sunshine. The amphitheater looks pretty cool, I haven't heard a band there yet,but plan to in the near future. Even a little sandy beach to grab a quick dip in the water!
Kimmie M — Google review
It was my first time visiting the park and it was absolutely beautiful, I happened to go the same day as RibFest so that was even better ! They have lots of available benches with great views Bins in very good locations so there’s no litter and tons of space if you decide to sit on the grass and have a nice picnic. I had a great time just being able to be present and relaxed in that space.
Gabriel P — Google review
Beautiful! A must see if you're in the area. Well maintained paths to go for a nice walk. In the winter it is so beautiful with the snow and can walk across the lake if you choose. Snow hills for tobogganing and pretty safe. Would recommend, especially to walk your furry friend or take some pretty pictures. Accessible paths as well so could use a walker/wheelchair or stroller but some patches can be icy in winter so would need to be careful.

Located in Central Sudbury. Great place to bring kids as there is a big park and a small beach. The path is great for strollers, with many benches and picnic tables along the way. Great spot to watch the sun rise or set!

Gloria's Restaurant, a beloved family-owned establishment since 1952 in Sudbury, is renowned for its homestyle Canadian cuisine and all-day breakfast. This cozy diner on Regent St. is a hit among children and offers massive portions of delectable breakfast options like the epic french toast wrap and indulgent dishes such as pancakes, crepes, and steak and eggs. Known for its generous servings, Gloria's doesn't skimp on the home fries that accompany every dish.
Me and my Husband went there today and had these items listed below attached the photos it was our Anniversary and they were so good and reliable the food is filling and homemade burgers 🍔 would we go back absolutely 💯 😋
Amanda K — Google review
So I had a simple pancake with fruits which was real good but my partner had the 2 eggs and toast Sunnyside and it was not the greatest. Nice place to eat. I thought the prices for the kids drinks and the coffee was pretty high.
Michael J — Google review
Gloria's has a great breakfast. The staff are friendly and efficient, and you can be comfortable in shorts or dressed up. I love going there on weekends because of the family vibe - some tables with seemingly multi-generational family. There's something on the menu for everyone. They have short hours (8am to 3pm) because they focus on providing a great breakfast, which many like me enjoy for lunch too. If you haven't been, I recommend it.
Matthew R — Google review
Old school diner vibes. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of fruit on my waffle, but I would stick to English muffins next time for the Benedict. food at other tables looked amazing. I'll be back for the crepes and to check out the takeaway desserts.
Nadine R — Google review
Never again. Started off nice. But we had eggs Benny medium. Eggs whites were really runny , English muffins were still raw , potatoes were cold and drenched in oil. We had a few bites of the pemeal bacon but that’s it. It’s was buy one get one half. We were discounted for just the one one half and still had to pay full price for the meals and the 3.25 coffees additional to the meals. Coffees were good but we spent 55$ with tip and are headed home to make breakfast.
Nick C — Google review
Went there a few weekends ago. Super friendly waitress, seat by the window, great food. Left the waitress a ten dollar tip, and thanked her for her friendly service. Will be going back.
UnfetteredMind — Google review
The reviews made us come visit this historic restaurant which was established in 1952. Family owned Canadian style food. The restaurant was full and the wait line was long which further fuelled my craving and now even more curious to try the food out. The main reason also was the fact that the reviews mentioned Vegan menu! A whole page for Vegan options! How wonderful is that ! It’s good to see the way people view and accept new ways in food and habits. Inclusion is most appealing. Sadly I was not impressed by the service or server Cathy was extremely unresponsive, excruciatingly slow and for each and every thing it took a long time. We spent more than 2 and half hours in ( eating food took max 20 minutes) many tables around got filled served and paid during our time in. Plus the only non vegan dish I ordered was veg skillet ( mixed veggies with house fries and scrambled eggs) was only fries and an chewy omelette cut in pieces 😱 It was loaded with fat grease and Carbs no soft fluffy Scrambled eggs no vegetables visible, just so disappointing. The poutine was good the gravy tasty and portion size huge. The vegan French toast could do with some more flavour and the whipped coconut cream was a bite size portion ( they could have been generous with it) the strawberries too was scarce. Overall I would vegans was better. They don’t serve any fresh juices which is a shame for any brunch place. Mimosas made with canned juice! This place is ideal for lots of grease Carbs and unhealthy food options. Felt like one of the unhealthy American diners. Would never go back Totally waste of my tummy space and health and money and time!
Gunjan A — Google review
Went there on both Thursday and Friday this week. The food was top-tier. Very fresh and cooked perfectly with tons of flavor and a real home-cooked vibe. My parents had the chicken parmesan and they got it with two pieces of chicken. It was such a large serving of food that it could easily have served another person is in addition to them! I tried some of the spaghetti and it was perfectly done and tasted so good! I had the Spartan burger and it was really like a burger and a Reuben sandwich combined. It was simply delicious, bursting flavor and had a perfectly cooked patty. At our next visit, the next day, we all had the breakfast and we chose to have the grilled home fries. They were soft and flavorful had all the yumminess of pan fried potatoes. They even have an option to put grilled onions on top which impressed us all and they were SO good. They also offer the option of rye toast! The baked beans also impressed us because not a lot of restaurants offer those. They were soft, flavorful tomato beans and were perfectly seasoned. I had the hungry man breakfast because I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat. It was filling, tasty and wholesome comfort food - and they serve it all day to boot! I'm moving to Sudbury soon and I will honestly say that they have won a customer over. At both of our visits, the staff were nothing but kind to me and my parents and made me feel right at home in a city where I don't know anybody yet. I will be back again. ♡

Encompassing 2,400 acres from Lake Ramsey to the city's southeast bypass, this protected area offers various outdoor activities. Lake Laurentian Conservation Area, near Laurentian University in Sudbury, is a serene and picturesque escape into nature. With its well-maintained trails, lush greenery, and peaceful ambiance, it’s the perfect spot for hiking, birdwatching, or simply unwinding. Some trails are temporarily closed due to reforestation efforts, but the open paths still offer plenty of exploration. One of the highlights is the beautiful wooden staircase that winds through the forest, adding a charming touch to the hike. The sunset here is breathtaking, casting golden hues over the lake—ideal for nature lovers and photographers. At the top of the hill, there’s a stunning viewpoint framed by a wooden structure, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. It’s a fantastic spot to capture memories or just soak in the beauty of Sudbury’s wilderness. Whether you're looking for a peaceful walk, a scenic photo opportunity, or a quiet place to connect with nature, Lake Laurentian delivers. The conservation area is well worth a visit, especially for those who appreciate tranquil trails and stunning sunsets. A hidden gem in Sudbury!

If you're planning a hike in Sudbury, the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area is a must-visit, especially if you start from the Moonlight Beach entrance. The trails are scenic and peaceful, with lots of natural beauty, from rocky outcrops to quiet forested paths and occasional lake views. 🚶‍♂️ Trail Experience: The trail is fairly long, stretching from Moonlight Beach on one end and leading all the way toward Lake Laurentian on the other. It’s a moderate hike – not too difficult, but definitely a bit of a workout, especially if you're doing the full route. Bring water and wear good shoes. ⚠️ Bear Awareness: Be cautious – this is a natural conservation area, and there have been sightings of black bears in the region. Stay alert, avoid hiking alone if possible, and make some noise while walking. It’s a good idea to carry a whistle or bear bell and keep food sealed up. 🌿 Overall Vibe: A great spot for nature lovers, with quieter trails than some other parts of Sudbury. It’s well-maintained, and the entry from Moonlight Beach adds a bonus of starting or ending your hike with a bit of lakeside relaxation. ✅ Tips: Start early if you're doing the whole trail. Check trail maps beforehand. Watch for wildlife and respect posted signs.

Lake Laurentian Conservation Area - A must visit trail if visiting Sudbury for nature/leisure reasons! The trails are divided into many different directions, but view from each of the trails are all beautiful. Each trail is different in length, which is perfect to plan ahead to invest specific hours. Staying true to its name, the restaurant presents a diverse selection of specialty cheese and charcuterie boards as well as delectable entrees such as grilled sandwiches and vibrant salads.
I love going to fromo! Valerie & John always go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience during your visit. Especially with the new menu items, you'd seriously be missing out if you didn't try La Fromagerie.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it here! First time goers but definitely not the last. Not only is it beautiful in here with the big open windows bringing in natural light but the whole atmosphere is inviting and just a sight at every turn. Perfect for sit down conversations, not at all. Not to mention the live performances which was an added bonus. Our server was very attentive, letting know of daily specials and even drink recommendations. Drinks were delicious. THE FOOD WAS 👨‍🍳💋We had to keep stealing bites off of one another. My gf loved the Salmon which was “cooked to perfection” and the sides were “soooo good”. The risotto was perfect and flavourful. Did not put my spoon down once. The presentation was just beautiful. The quality was amazing. The portion was the perfect amount. We would 100% recommend and will be back!

Drawn by the name I had to check it out. Dill pickle flat bread was AMAZING 🤤 Brought my partner the next time we were in town and we had lunch the mains were amazing 🤤 We said wow we love this place and then booked it out for our post wedding thank you lunch! We are beyond thrilled with our experience with the fromagerie! The location is close to ample parking. The Fromo is set up with the coziest mix of vintage rustic Chic and local market. The decor/set up alone makes you feel you are walking into your very own small town secret. Valerie was beyond accommodating for our group of 30. In the stressful hustle and bustle of wedding prep she was a breeze to communicate with promptly responded to emails in a professional and empathetic manner (so important for brides to be! We ordered the "lil Graze" for our group of 30 and there was nothing "lil" about it! Such a delicate and beautiful chacoutarie set up. Our group loved it. On top of that we also ordered lunch. From burgers (chicken &beef) to flat breads, salads & Steaks everyone in our group raved about their meal. I felt prices were incredibly reasonable and I will definitely be going back! Thank you for providing such a unique and intimate dining experience in Northern Ontario ❤️

I had a great time with my friends on the patio, enjoying both the food and drinks. The atmosphere was fantastic. Kelly, our waitress, was incredibly kind and attentive, making me want to visit again. Plus, the female singer who performs live on Friday evenings has such a beautiful voice.

10/10 would recommend. 6 of us girls attended the wine glass painting event that was held at the restaurant this Saturday and we ABSOLUTELY loved every second of it. 1- Our drinks were AMAZING. Our favourites were the espresso martini and the apple cranberry martini. I would go back just for those drinks alone!! 2- The staff was so kind, lovely and helpful during the painting process to those who needed a bit more help! 3- the food was great. Well worth the price. We had a spinach dip, nacho and salad and all were fresh and delish. 3- The atmosphere is cozy and decor is adorable. Perfect for group pics, selfies, or Instagram worthy shots of the food/drinks. 4- The wine glass painting event was so fun for everyone of all ages within the group and it was great to be able to take the wine glass home after as a reminder of the awesome day! Overall, we were very happy with the day! We hope for more paint events in the future. Perhaps a “paint your partner/friend” event?

Very good food, but pricey for my liking. Cost 30$ for a plate of salmon with a lemon dill sauce ,fried red onions on top with a side of roasted potatoes and brocolini. Best salmon i tried very mild tasting the sauce was perfect blend with red onion on top.. recommend trying this 👌 😋😍 my husband had the steak he loved it as well.

Took over 20 minutes to get our drinks when there was only 4 other tables in the restaurant and our margaritas came with curdles of coconut milk, not a good experience, got asked to reach out via email…. Wasn’t provided an email and not sure what other info is needed when i provided a picture of the nasty margs

Loved visiting and taking my special needs client there. I loved going inside the cabooses. My favorite was the train model set up in the basement. Owen gave us a guides tour. He did incredible!!!! Answered our questions and kept us engaged throughout the tour. My client was scared to come down the engine using the stairs and I spend a good 10-15 minutes verbally encouraging and talking him to get back down. Owen was very patient and helped me with making my client feel relaxed and calm to get down. Thanks a lot!! I will definitely be coming back. Well worth the money.

Great spot for an afternoon visit. I'd suspect it should take about 2 hours to normally go through the trains, house and historic police / fire station. Some train cars and locomotives you can go I side of which was neat. Kids loved the play structure.

The house and grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. Pets are allowed outside and there is a play area for the kids. The large model train layout is in the old fire hall a block or so away, and is well worth a look.

Beard's Coffee Bar And Bakery is Sudbury's first vegan bakery, offering a variety of dairy and egg-free treats. The shop serves strong brews from Propellor Coffee and Old Rock Roastery alongside their delectable baked goods such as cookies, scones, cupcakes, pie, bars, donuts, muffins, and cinnamon buns. Located in the trendy Donovan area of Sudbury with a spacious patio adorned with lush greenery and wooden benches.
Beards is a really really nice vegan cafe, they had a nice selection of classic cafe drinks with multiple vegan milk options - we had a vanilla oat latte that was great. Then they have a bunch of really delicious looking baked goods (also vegan) and we had the best donut we had ever had! A lemon poppy seed donut 😍 it was so good! Highly recommend! They do have a little sitting area too, kind of a sit up bar style on either side of the cafe and it looks like in the summer they would have outside seating which would also be very very cute ! If you’re in the area, it’s definitely a good spot to check out, especially if you’re vegan but honestly even if you’re not, you will not be disappointed with their treats!

Cute little coffee shop on Kathleen. Atmosphere and service was great! Was not a fan of our drinks. We had the matcha and golden milk, both of which were extremely powdery and honestly off putting. Was rather disappointed after reading the reviews for this place. The desserts however were delicious and fresh! Would try again to give them another chance

My #1 stop in Sudbury. The coffee is u real (I am a coffee connoisseur and the coffee is on par with top toronto cafés.) This is a well curated little art gallery with local and regional artists, nice gift shop with a variety of offerings. The Big Nickel is not only an iconic photo spot but also offers insights into the region's heritage.

It's big... it's nickley, and it's still really cool after all these years away from Sudbury. Make sure you visit the gift shop. I could buy the whole place. :) I loved reading all the educational signs outside about how scientists read the markings and shape of the rocks to determine the geological history of the area.

Mostly fun for young kids. There was a Halloween theme going on with tickets which we skipped. Bit of a winding drive to get there if it’s your first time and we went there after dark. Found it easy to park, but I expect it will be much more crowded in the daytime.
Jyotsna P — Google review
We visited the Big Nickel, and it was a really enjoyable experience. The gift shop had a great selection of interesting, high-quality items. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to do the underhround mining tour, but I’ve heard it’s very educational and would have been a great addition to the visit.

To start it's a display to commemorate. It can get windy near the coin. It's a cool experience. There is a museum but we did not go in. The important thing to note is that the only accessible entrance is the one from the street marked the Big Nickle and not the other one. The alternate route that runs from behind the nickle is UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Worth visit once.

Anderson Farm Museum, located in the charming community of Lively near Fielding Memorial Park and Bird Sanctuary, offers a glimpse into the farming life of early 20th century Sudbury. The museum features well-preserved heritage buildings including a farmhouse, a historic log home, and the original milk house. Visitors can explore the 14-acre site that was once home to one of the largest dairies in Northern Ontario during the 1920s-1930s.
Here is a 5-star Google review for Anderson Farm: Anderson Farm is a true gem in our community! This beautiful, natural space is always impeccably clean, whether you're looking to relax under the shade of a tree with your furry friend, enjoy a picnic at one of the lovely picnic tables, or explore the farm itself. The seasonal events like the Fall Fair and Rock the Farm are always a hit, drawing in visitors from near and far. I visited the farm just yesterday and had an absolutely wonderful time. The grounds were well-maintained, the staff was friendly and helpful, and there was so much to see and do. From wandering through the peaceful fields to browsing the local vendors, it was the perfect way to spend a day. As a long-time resident, I feel so fortunate to have this incredible, family-friendly destination right in our backyard. If you haven't been to Anderson Farm yet, I highly recommend adding it to your must-visit list. It's a true oasis of tranquility and community spirit that everyone can enjoy. One of the coolest museums here in Ontario. Definitely a must see when in Sudbury. Plenty of things that can amaze the young ones and young at heart. They also have a Lego Exhibit as of this time. Our favourite is the 4th Level where the exhibits are interactive. The place and washrooms are clean. Parkings $6 for whole day. The cafeteria is somewhat basic and limited options but kids love it. The staffs are amazing, super friendly and accommodating.

Science North in Sudbury is a fun and educational destination that offers plenty of hands-on exhibits for visitors of all ages. From wildlife displays and space exhibits to the IMAX theatre and planetarium, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the interactive demonstrations make science come alive. The centre is well-organized and located in a beautiful setting by the lake, which adds to the overall experience. The only downside is that admission can feel a bit pricey, especially for families, and some exhibits could use a refresh. Still, it’s a great place to spend a few hours learning, exploring, and having fun — one of the top attractions in Northern Ontario!

Our road trip brought us to Science North—and it was such a good stop. We’ve been to other science centres, but this one left an impression. The Brick Master Studio LEGO exhibit was incredible. I especially liked the hummingbird (a bit biased there) The Science Theatre was a highlight—bubbles, fire, reptiles—we caught every show. Each floor had something to offer, and even our older kids stayed engaged. From racing your own car to putting together a brain, it was hands-on all the way. The only downside was the 3D printing—it took longer than expected, and the pieces were so tiny they were lost before we even left the parking lot. Still, great conversations while waiting. Definitely worth the stop—interactive, surprising, and full of moments we’ll remember.

The Science North center in Sudbury is massive, with so much to do; we been here twice, full day trips each time, and have yet to fully explore the museum. In our most recent visit they also had a massive Lego exhibit, showcasing some very unique Lego creations.

Very good for kids and family alike. Planetarium showcases planets, consolation and stars. Building centre is good for the creative minds to build Lego. Of course a phenomenal display of Lego design. IMAX is incredible, we watched Ocean Paradise. You get to learn few Atolls built from volcano eruptions. Level 4 is for the engineer that loves to tinkle and build Kinetix cars. Best part is after building it, race it on the oval electric track! Restrooms on every floor. Wheelchair accessible. Lots of free parking. Food available, it's OK. Pizza, sandwich, burgers and fries.

Space: Been here twice in two weeks and if you are into retro spaces, this is for you. Food: The food is really good, I recommend the lamb chop if you are into meat. They make a really good steak as well. The tiramisu was amazing 5/5, the Nutella pizza on the other hand was a 3/5 for me, not a big Nutella fan but if you are, this could be a good try. The ravioli was really filling so that’s a 7/10 for me. Servers were really great. The only distraction for me was the constant check in, I guess that’s what good service is for them so if it’s same for you, you would love the space. A total 8/10 all round for me.

The food and service here is amazing. Good drinks, good ravioli. But the music in here is SO LOUD, we could barely hear our waitress and it definitely made us want to leave early. Had it been quieter this place would be a 10/10, however I can't see this being the type of place I could bring family too because of the noise level.

A really positive overall experience. We were greeted with enthusiasm by the owner who gave us a tour of the restaurant and let us select our seats. The menu had good selection. Our drinks were great. The servers were efficient and attentive. The owner was very kind and gave us a complimentary appetizer along with checking to ensure we were enjoying our meal. The pasta was really tasty and HUGE portions so go hungry. The space had a great atmosphere and you could choose the louder bar vibe or the other side if you want a bit calmer place to chat. We left feeling very full and are looking forward to returning the next time we visit Sudbury!

Oh man let me tell you this place was sooooo amazing!! While staying in Sudbury we found this absolute gem of a restaurant on Google with great reviews so I certainly wanted to share my experience there. Service was great and we even had the owner come and have a chat with us as he was going around making sure all tables had everything they needed, as there was quite a few customers, the servers were very busy but super efficient! We had the bruschetta to start and was excellent, my main was a special that night I can't remember the name of it but, it was a seasoned chicken breast on a bed of mushrooms and crispy potatoes. My goodness it was absolutely delicious. My buddy had the cheese ravioli which he said was amazing. Great atmosphere and great decor. Definitely recommend and if we're ever in Sudbury again we will certainly be back!!
Rye P — Google review
The food is always super good. The service was nice and quick also. Reason for 3 stars is: 1- music is WAY too loud. We couldn't even have a conversation cause we would've had to yell over the music, and over all the people also yelling over the music. So we spent our 10year anniversary eating in silence and listening to the young couple next to us talk about investments and stocks the whole time. 2- lighting is way too dim. People with vision problems cannot read that tiny font on the menu. My spouse couldn't read it at all, so discouraged, he just asked me to order something for him. 3- we made a reservation and specifically asked for a "romantic" spot since it was our 10th anniversary (you know, like a corner table or something...). We were wished happy anniversary, but then seated right in between 2 tables, right in the middle of the place (which are too close....no privacy even if you tried.....like I said, we listened to the one couple's conversation the entire time). Discouraged, we were seated, ate and gone within 40minutes! Like I said, service was quick at least.

Highly recommend for a weekend adventure or a quiet retreat in nature! 🌲🏕️🚣‍♂️

We had a great time at this park, we love the fact that it is dog friendly.. our site was big and clean when we arrived. We drove over to Onaping Falls and did a hike there… it was beautiful.. our pup loved the dog beach.. my only complaint would be the bathrooms could be a bit cleaner then they were. The train horns were loud but they didn’t bother us at all.. they may bug some people tho.
Lorraine K — Google review
We had a good time at this Campground. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the train noise late at night and the second was the proper washroom that was a bit further from our campsite but super dirty. There was also the sewage hole bathroom closer but the kids refused to go and were also scared. Mosquitos were a big issue but that has to do with nature and one must be prepared with mesh hats and mesh gazebo to stay protected. Overall, it was a good visit.
Farah K — Google review
Very nice campground, we got lucky to last minute booked the walk in sites which was right beside the lake. It’s cold at night. So for these who are visiting in September, please bring enough blanket and clothes. Kids & pet friendly. The ground is in a good condition. The waterfall pics are from a trail called AY Falls. Highly recommended to check it out. 2km only, but a lot of fun! The starry sky was from the campsite that we booked - W7. That spot is amazing!!!!!

This is one of the best Ontario provincial parks I've been to. It's not busy even in summer season and the lake is very clean and the temperature is just right for children and seniors swimming. One thing they can improve is probably the shower booth (hoping there's more) and the park store doesn't sell ice (you will have to go outside and buy from a close spot in <5mins driving) and some food for bbq, but it deserves my 4.5 stars. I'll try again with my kids.
Brendan K — Google review
Always stunning, always windy, this park has been a favorite for years, the walk in sites especially. As one who likes comfort and ease of set up, the inconvenience of carrying in the stuff, an extra 30 steps, at most, is easily overshadowed by stunning g views, curious (small) wildlife and a literal lakeside campsite.stunning pictures are easy with no nearby man-made light. And as a city folk, hearing the train come through a couple times a night adds a bit of the sounds of home
R S — Google review
A great camping spot. The lake right there, great spots, open space plus shelter. The area we were in had a sheltered picnic area with lots of tables which came in handy for meal times. The toilets were constantly being cleaned and not once did they run out of toilet paper or soap for hand washing. They're long drop toilets so don't smell great but the facilities were great. Take bug spray for sun down, the mosquitoes are deadly.
Natalie M — Google review
Overall we had a nice stay. The tent sites are very spacious and 2 picnic tables were on the site, which was nice. The bath house could use an update and I was surprised to see a metal slide on the playground, but the tent spots were great! There is a train that runs fairly regularly and could be heard very clearly. Picture is of site 18.

The Fielding Bird Sanctuary is a beautiful and serene natural refuge located near a lake with ample parking and accessible walking trails. Visitors can enjoy the diverse range of local bird species and flora while taking peaceful walks along the trails. The sanctuary offers both short and long trail options for nature lovers to explore. However, it lacks washroom facilities which could be inconvenient for some visitors. The park has plenty of benches and picnic tables where one can rest or have a meal amidst nature's finest offerings.
Beautiful little walk. Nothing crazy, but still lovely. LOTS of ducks when we went on the last day of November!
Melissa M — Google review
It’s beautiful trail with some mild to intense hills, I have fybro/tin man syndrome so regular people might find it super easier then me. That being said, it’s one of my top 3 trails in Greater Sudbury.
Trevor J — Google review
Easy walking/biking trail on grounds. More trails nearby that are more intense. Lots of birds. Also lots of dogs off leash since the people in Sudbury are like that.
Marc S — Google review
A true treasure that so few people take the time to enjoy. ( which , selfishly , I don't mind as it's never to crowded!! Lol) I go there to re-connect with spirit and the innocence of the natural world that , as a race , as the " Stewards" of this "tiny blue dot" , have NOT been doing our responsibility. This world is a precious gift. As each one of us are. Modern society has made us blind to this connection and responsibility AND honour. You and your loved ones must go there once.
Solar M — Google review
nice easy walk. saw some birds and squirrels. nothing too exciting. some marshy areas. probably got a lot of mosquitoes in the summer. only saw portapotties and no real washrooms.
Kris — Google review
Nice little place for a short easy walk. Looks like a favourite place for locals too. With a little playground for kids too. We saw beaver, mallards and geese. We were passing by Sudbury and came here just to check it out. From the tourist standpoint, this place is nice but not interesting nor exciting, hence the 3 star.
Ninh D — Google review
It's a beautiful and well kept place to walk your dog, sit by the water, have a picnic...there is a park for kids. One of my favorite places to take my dog.
Tina S — Google review
Though we went for the birds, we stayed (and came back the next day of our vacation) for the chipmunks. Lol A beautiful park. Nice walking trails. Park for the kids to burn some energy. And beautiful flowers. We downloaded an app called (seek) and if you take pictures of various plants and critters it gives you information about them.

The beer is amazing! The soft pretzel with beer cheese dip was unreal! The hot dog menu is great, so delicious!

Best beer in Canada! Was living in Canada for a year and this turned out to be the no.1 for me. If you like Pale ales, NEIPA or IPA this is your one. We had an ex police server who was absolutely brilliant. Visited in May 2023 and still thinking of it now. Much love from Scotland.

A great little spot in Sudbury that is truly family friendly. Variety of seating available, as well a large party games (e.g., Connect Four) and indoor activities like colouring books, board games, and kids books to keep those of all ages entertained. Highlight of family friendliness is the availability of a change table in the bathroom to help out with the littlest littles. Good selections of brews on tap. Ranging from lagers to sours, and a bunch in-between. Snack menu is well laid out, hot dogs and other munchables. For those kiddos with a selective tastebuds the option for a plain dog exists.

46 North Brewing is an absolute gem! Great beer and every pint tastes fresh and crafted with care. Scenic spot
The A.Y. Jackson Lookout, situated near Sudbury, offers stunning views of the Onaping High Falls and access to hiking trails, including a geological walking tour. Despite not being very tall, the lookout provides incredible vistas of the falls and the rugged Canadian Shield landscape. The area features a gorgeous bridge over Onaping River and is just a 30-minute drive from Sudbury.
A.Y. Jackson Lookout and Onaping High Falls It's about 35 minutes from Sudbury on Highway 144 East. There are three trails. For the more adventurous, you can climb down the rocky cascade and follow a somewhat challenging trail to get even closer to the falls. I wore Sketchers walking shoes, which weren’t ideal. Hiking boots would have been much better, especially since some rocks were slippery. Despite that, we chose this trail, and it was absolutely worth it. We followed the stream uphill and reached a higher point with an incredible view and the sound of fresh water flowing over rocks and branches. It was peaceful and rejuvenating. I’d love to do this trail again with more time and proper footwear!
Safia N — Google review
Beautiful little hike to the bottom of the falls. However, if you drive half a KM, there is a sandy hill you can drive ALL the way up and get to bridge and walk along the rocks of the falls.
Christy — Google review
As a retired hospitality professional, I enjoyed my time. Entering main entrance where trails begin. Washrooms and picnic table eating areas. A couple of easy walks to observation areas; however, be prepared if heading out to the bridge. Tricky for those that aren't the best on their feet 😉 From main entrance drive up road about 300ft (gravel pit area on right) where you can park. Walk up the hill and hit an easy trail to the bridge for some more great 📸 opportunities.
ANDREW M — Google review
A.Y. Jackson Lookout made for a perfect family trail day. The paths are well-marked and easy enough for kids, with plenty of spots to stop and take in the rushing falls and forest views. We took our time, snapped a ton of photos, and the kids loved listening to the roar of the water from the viewpoint. It’s the kind of hike that feels adventurous without being hard—great for burning energy and making memories. Tip: wear sturdy shoes (some roots and rocks), bring water and bug spray, and plan a little picnic—there are lots of scenic places to sit and enjoy the scenery. We’ll definitely be back!

Ramsey Lake is a stunning and expansive body of water located in the heart of the northern city. It offers rocky beaches, swimming areas, and a variety of fish species for fishing enthusiasts. Visitors can start their journey from Bell Park and explore nearby attractions such as Science North, art galleries, and the 35km trails at Lake Laurentian Conservation Area. In warmer weather, attendees can enjoy music on the picturesque shores at Grace Hartman Amphitheatre during events like Jazz Sudbury.
“RAMSEY LAKE” A wonderful place situated in the heart of the city. I think everyone from Sudbury and around love this place and have been at sometime. Huge parking across the street and you can walk down the park. You can sit , relax, walk your dog and what not. Even you can enjoy great beach in summer which is at the end of the park. Enjoy : )

Ramsey Lake is absolutely beautiful. We visited in winter, it was almost frozen. Stunning landscape. There are a few trails near by. Beaver trail and moonlight trail, both are 3km long. Easy to navigate. Few slippery paths, proper shoes and trekking poles will be helpful. Bio ski club is near by. I can only imagine how stunning this lake must be in summer. Highly recommend it. There is an air bnb if you are looking for a gateaway. Laurentian university is close by. Alot of eateries and grocery store 10min away which is great. If you are planning to visit Sudbury, I would recommend staying near ramsey lake for sure.

What a place to do activities. You can long walk and run without turning. I love to visit in the evening. Keep it in mind, on the weekend this place is very crowded.

Such a beautiful lake!! I love walking on the boardwalk by Science North all the way to Bell Park. The trail continues on the other side of Paris Street through Lilly Creek. Its the best in the fall when all the leaves are colored. In the winter the city makes a huge skating path on Lake Ramsey. Year round fun!
