Just absolutely loved Estel’s! It’s a small seaside cafe. It opens early so you can grab a bite to eat before you head out on your days adventure! It does not have a lot of seating so if you’re going out on the water you need to get there early! As it is close to my hotel, I go there often for breakfast. The food is delicious! We had many different meals over the years. All good. The fruit was fresh cut daily. Egg meals were tasty and cooked well! The Mayan Breakfast is a favorite or you can mix and match to your choice. I’ve never eaten lunch or dinner here so I won’t speak to those meals. I would suggest to all, try out Estel’s! Especially for an early breakfast and watch the sunrise!

Had an awesome breakfast here by the water in San Pedro. The fry jacks were fluffy and delicious — easily one of the best I’ve had on the island. The French toast was solid too, with just the right amount of sweetness.
Service was super friendly and welcoming. It did take them a little while to circle back to our table, but honestly… it’s island time, no rush when you’ve got a view like that. The ocean breeze, clear water, and relaxed vibe made it the perfect start to the day.
Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in San Pedro — grab a table by the water and soak it all in.

On my first day in Ambergris Caye, I woke up pretty early and was looking for a place for breakfast. Estel’s Dine by the Sea, was opening at 6 am. The Mayan Gods had listened to my prayer. I ended up there around 7 am, to be in the midst of a spectacular location. Smack on the beach, excellent seating, with commanding views of the Caribbean Sea and the world’s second largest barrier reef. There was a constant sea breeze, and an intoxicating fragrance of the environment. The restaurant is in downtown San Pedro, still family owned. The beautiful, elegant, charming and eponymous Estel was on hand. It was a pleasure to meet and also have conversation, with both her and her handsome son, who helps run the restaurant. Lovely people.
I don’t know about you, but when I travel to any destination, when it is meal time, it has to be local. That is why I came here and that is what I ordered. Estel’s Special Mayan Eggs (Scrambled eggs, grilled onions, tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro served with a choice of meat (for me it was shrimp), beans and Fry Jacks. There are many good things to say about my breakfast plate. Let me start in reverse order. In Belize, everyone desires Fry Jacks, but how Estel’s prepares them are something that you will always remember. A fluffy, soft, fresh and deep fried dough concoction that could have been eaten just on its own, for breakfast. Forget everything else. I must confess, that the texture, flavor and chew of Fry Jacks are very similar, if not identical to the circular Indian Fluffy deep fried bread, called Bhatura. It is also very close in taste to its Indian cousin, the deep fried but smaller circular and puffy bread, called the Poori.
While the Jacks are the crown jewel in these settings, the rest of the ingredients on the dish, should not be forgotten because they were superbly prepared. Soft and delicious scrambled eggs and the beans. Really liked the accompaniment of Jam too. And what about the music and the service? All my (and your) favorite oldie tunes played in beautiful harmony. Fantastic. Service was friendly, attentive and exceptional. Thank you, Estel, for your warm hospitality and an unforgettable first morning, in Ambergris Caye.

It was our last day in San Pedro and we wanted to catch the 8am ferry back to MX, it was between 6-7am and nothing was open for breakfast. We ran into a local who said to try Estel's, they were open.
We were immediately greeted and sat, they just opened. We sat inside but still had a beautiful view of the ocean.
We ordered the Mayan eggs special that come with Fry Jacks. OMG! The eggs were delicious with all kinds of flavors. The Fry Jacks OMG, what are those amazing little breads. So light and fluffy inside, I could not stop eating them.
If it hadn't been our last day I would have come back for lunch and dinner.
If you visit San Pedro I highly recommend checking this place out.

Loved this place so much I came back during a rainstorm just to get more Fry Jacks! The staff was so attentive and sweet. Loved stricking up conversations with them both times. They reminded me to relax and go slow as I was rushing through breakfast worried about leaving for snorkling (totally had more than enough time) . There is so much to love about this place! The food here is delicious, we come every year when we visit. The lobster tail is amazing as well as the shrimp pad Thai. For appetizers I highly recommend the hummus or walnut salad! Their cocktails are also amazing! We had the pink flamingo, starberry, and the jalapeño tiburon and all were absolutely incredible! The view is also stunning and cannot be beat. Staff are also very kind and welcoming!

We had a great first dinner in San Pedro town. This restaurant has a great ambiance, great service, live music and is along the water. Beautiful views. We loved our entrees. I had the grilled pork chop with green beans and mashed potatoes. My husband has the Mayan fish with coconut rice and veggies. The appetizers weren’t our fave (coconut shrimp and calamari). The home banana bread and ice cream were delicious. We’d dine here again. The presentation of the food was great as well.

Blue water grill is a wonderful place to stop and eat when you are in San Pedro. My Husband and I went there a few times while on our honeymoon, and the atmosphere is lovely. We had the the Thai curry shrimp as well as the fish and chips, and both were delicious. Our server, James, was wonderful, and we had a great time. Tried Red Ginger for breakfast one morning and it was a very nice dining experience. The restaurant is very clean with a good staff. My server was very good and quite attentive. I started with a mimosa then ordered the eggs Benedict. The breakfast was really good! It’s a bit more high end than most cafes here in San Pedro. But it’s worth it. Red Ginger is definitely one of the top picks for me and my husband. My husband is a bit more well travelled than myself and is quite picky but Red Ginger never disappoints. Food is consistently amazing, the staff is attentive and welcoming. The restaurant itself have a warm and inviting atmosphere. Cheesecake was delicious. A nice restaurant located at the bottom of the Phoenix resort with a casual yet semi upscale type of feel. I wasn’t staying at the hotel but walk ins are welcomed. The Fry jacks were my first taste of them and they were so good I had to ask the waiter to bring back seconds lol the food was good though and the wait time was not long. Good service as well! Give them a try if you’re in the area, they serve other foods besides breakfast also.

My friend and I came here for breakfast on Friday around 9:00 AM. Red Ginger is located in the Phoenix resort. To note: we didn't know they had parking behind the hotel, but we didn't have any problem finding street parking. Love the place, it's small, has both indoor and outdoor patio seating. It's decor was modern tropical. We were the only one dining that morning. LOL so service from OPhelia was very attentive.
We ordered Bloody Marys, Huevos Rancheros and an American Breakfast. Everything came out hot, fresh, looking great and tasting great! I would definitely come back for breakfast next time in San Pedro, Belize.

Food quality is outstanding. Tuna tostada, shrimp with the jicama and the sweet potato dumplings are standout for appetizers. The cashew fish fillet was hard NOT to inhale and the Dulce de Leche donuts are done in a caribeña style which was a perfect end to the meal.
Presentation is great. Seafood is fresh and high quality, the flavors for each dish are distinct and you leave feeling satisfied. Price is high but you are paying for the quality. Only recommendation is the lobster lemon dish needs less lemon— the acid cooks the outer parts of the lobster leaving the meat tougher than it should be.

Staying across the road at Mahogany Bay (best place to stay on the island in my opinion, you can book a house with a private pool) and this restaurant came highly recommended. Lovely views, you can dine outdoors or inside, impeccable service and knowledgeable staff. We started with ceviche, and had grilled queen snapper as well as the cashew crusted grouper to share so we could try both. Absolutely amazing. The sides of coconut rice/ veggies as well as coconut rice with chipotle beans were out of this world. Save room for dessert and have the local goat cheesecake. Indescribably creamy and delicious.

We live in San Pedro, but had not yet visited Victoria House.
Yesterday was my birthday, and my husband said to choose any restaurant I wanted. I originally had my eye on one about a mile away, but I came to find out that they are closed on Mondays - so off to Google I went!
The reviews for Palmilla were encouraging, and the menu suited us, so I made dinner reservations, despite it being about 25 minutes away.
Even in the dark, as soon as we pulled onto the grounds of Victoria House, we could tell we were somewhere special! Pristine landscaping, raked-sand paths, everything was perfectly manicured and luxurious!
The dining room had rich wood floors and crisp white paint; linen tablecloths and napkins - fancy for the island. Our server, Estevan, was on the ball for the entire meal, we never wanted for anything...other than Prosecco. I had my heart set on some bubbles, and their bottle price was fair, $100BZ, but they were out, so we shifted to Porto de Piedra red blend - smooth, silky, if you see it on a menu, it's well worth ordering!
We split an obscenely large Caesar salad, and each had their surf-and-turf - I subbed the Parmesan truffle oil mashed for the included bacon mash, and I could've had only those potatoes and been thrilled with dinner. Steaks were cooked to medium-rare perfection, and while Belize is not known for quality steak, these were exquisite! The split lobster tails were tender, top-notch all the way! And we felt the pricing was very fair, especially for the setting!
Estevan and the other staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and sincere.
We can't afford to dine like this every day, but for special occasions, we'll certainly return to Palmilla!

My friend and I are 3 time offenders, coming for just cocktails at the Admiral Nelson’s one afternoon, breakfast with friends and then our last vacation night dinner at Pamilla. All 3 times, a wonderful experience all around. The atmosphere, service, food and drinks were fabulous.
First time, we just wanted a more upscale place to chill in the afternoon and have a cocktail. The Admiral Nelson’s bar was perfect. We enjoyed a Bloody Marys and Pina Coladas while looking over the dock and the ocean.
Second time we came for breakfast with friends at the Palmilla Restaurant. Dishes ordered were Huevos Rancheros, 2 Classic Breakfast and Avocado Bacon & Egg Toast plus a few rounds of Mimosas. Again service and food was excellent.
Third time here was our last night in Belize. We took advantage of the complimentary shuttle service to and from our hotel. Our server Vannie that night was great. She was very friendly and attentive. Dinner was Caesar Salad, Surf 'n Turf and Cashew Crusted Fish Fillet. All the dishes presented well and tasted wonderful.
I would definitely be back next time in San Pedro, Belize.

I ordered the sausage fry jack but they got my order wrong and gave me an egg fry jack. I didn't want to make a fuss so I just ate it. No big deal. It was good but I'd say the dough is on the salty side so I wouldn't return. Since I had a lite lunch in the neighborhood, it was time to walk to the Belize Chocolate Company. There are many items and drinks that are chocolate. In the back of the small store, there was a small chocolate making class that was in session. I tried two of their truffles with dark chocolate and they were heavenly. Then it was time to do some shopping to bring home. It had to be dark chocolate bars. Buy 3 and get one free. So I went with the #5 (87% Dark) and the Art Bar (70% Dark). The latter highlighting local Belizean artists. So a total of 8 bars to bring home. Both of these bars were exquisite, with a serious depth and range of cocoa taste. Clearly, in a unique chocolate class of its own.

The restaurant is cutely decorated. There is a spectacular mural painted on the wall. Tables and chairs are rustic wood. The service was friendly and fast. Pretty well priced for a touristy place. They do take credit cards. I tried a sample of different pastries and ALL were delicious, but the cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting drizzled on top was my favorite. Read about this place on Google and was delighted that they were opened the day after Christmas (boxing day). Got us a little treat of cinnamon roll, apple turnover, iced coffee, and pineapple mango smoothie. It was great, and we got to meet Ken, the owner.
It was so good we went back for breakfast the next day, which we ordered the croissant with egg, ham, and cheese, sausage roll, Nutella croissant, pineapple lime, and mother iced coffee.
The prices are by no means cheap for local standards but comparable to the prices back home.

Given that our hotel was charging $25+ per person for mediocre breakfast, we ventured out to try out the Baker for breakfast and it did not disappoint. I don't know how anyone could actually rate this place less than 5 stars. If you were to ask me, what is good here? I would just reply 'yes'. Everything was amazing and the owner, who is Northern Irish, was such a sweet and friendly man. They DO IN FACT take credit cards, despite what other reviews have said, so a good place if you just got to San Pedro, and didn’t get to an ATM yet.
Some reviews complain about the prices, but this is a tourist island… I don’t know what people are expecting… As a tourist I expect to pay more in these locations, and honestly I have no problem paying a little more to be able to use credit cards, and tip well because we like to support the small/local businesses when we travel.
Saw plenty of locals and tourists here on a Saturday morning, so if you’re at a resort nearby don’t hesitate. Stuffed jacks are amazing, as is the Nutella stuffed croissant!

On our first night in town, we got in late and just drove towards town trying to find an interesting spot. We noticed they closed at 10, and they seated us at 9/15. We are vegans who have been staying the whole week at Ramon’s and put off eating at Pineapples until Christmas since we knew everything else that wasn’t a resort in San Pedro would be closed and there are some very exciting vegan options in San Pedro, see my other reviews.
We had lunch here today which were two fantastic burrito bowls consisting of coconut rice, black beans, lots of veggies and avocado in a fried flour tortilla (think taco salad) and then a side of guacamole and chile sauce. Word to the wise, their guacamole and chips comes with bacon on it and doesn’t say anything about that so ask for no bacon, we already asked for no cheese or sour cream but didn’t even think to ask for no bacon hahaha.
Hours later after ridiculously good massages at their spa, we went back for dinner. We got three of the five vegan labeled options: Thai peanut sauce veggie salad rolls, a broccoli apple ginger sesame salad, and the Zucchini coconut pasta. All were fresh and delicious and we both felt thankful for the emphasis on good clean vegetables expertly prepared and seasoned. It is very refreshing that they not only have vegan options, but that they seem to have put care into crafting them.
The staff at Ramon’s have all been amazing as well from the Hol Chan snorkel trip we did to the servers at the restaurant and coffee/wine/beer/smoothie window to the front desk and the spa as well. Highly recommend this resort!!

words can't express how much we loved dining at Pineapples. Sure, we were staying at Ramon's but we enjoyed breakfast every morning there and several lunches and dinner when we didn't venture out. We stopped into Lilly’s one afternoon for an adult libation! It’s a nice place for a meal. I can’t talk of the menu as we only had some shrimp ceviche. It was quite good! We wandered into Lily’s Treasure Chest for breakfast and quickly realized we’d struck gold (or at least fresh coffee and ocean views worth a postcard). The food was excellent, the staff knew the menu inside-out, and their recommendations were spot on.
After a day of Scuba looking at fish we came back and happily ordered the blackened snapper. It was was outstanding, perfectly spiced (if your a "no spice" person, I warned you). The lemon chicken was another hit around the table.

We tried Lily's because it was recommended as a quick, good, cheap eat. We were set almost immediately, the waitresses were all friendly and accommodating. I ordered the lobster scampi, my husband ordered the shrimp fajitas, and we shared what was supposed to be the combo (shrimp and lobster) ceviche. "A locals favorite" was what our guide told us, and he was right. The shrimp ceviche, chips and a couple of cold ones... while sitting on the water's edge, it doesn't get much better. This bakery is amazing! They have so many wonderful options and everything is so tasty. We went back here multiple times while we were on the island. The bread is so fresh and the croissants are so delicious. We ordered a custom chocolate cake for a birthday and it was moist and not too sweet, which was perfect.
We also ordered their baguette sandwiches and they had a vegan option.
The owners and the employees are so friendly and kind.

They probably used to make good products according to reviews and photos from few years ago but definitely not anymore, this is literally the worst bread I’ve ever had. I got a multigrain loaf, what a nightmare, that thing was so dense, dry and extremely salty I couldn’t do anything with it. The olive loaf was not much better either, it’s your average cardboard-like cheap supermarket bread. Baking is a craft and this place is far from mastering it. If you ever had real bread in your life don’t bother stopping here.
EDIT: I’m French and I work in the culinary industry, they’re just pretentious bitter people not able to handle negative comments on their so-called “French bakery”.

Some of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever tasted, and if you're looking for authentic French baking such as croissants or true eclairs, this is the place. Heard about a quaint coffee bar with an attached B&B. This is a great spot to grab a quick bite of food, delicious coffee or mimosa. It is managed by the owners themselves, with the help of a few employees. You can sit at the bar top or enjoy a small table located around the coffee bar and in the patio area of the B&B.
We went back twice during our stay in Belize and took our bikes to get there each time. Located just down the street from the Truck Stop.

We missed finding it originally, but if heading from the north into San Pedro, look for it on the east side of the road just past the Truck Stop. You'll need to turn in to and go down the dirt road past the bar on the corner and then you'll see it. Seating is fantastic for social distancing, wrapped around the small pool at the bed and breakfast style lodging it is attached to. Well worth the wait... we sampled a few other coffee shops here on the island, but I must say Lavish Habit takes the cake (or coffee)! Seldom resort to Resort stays, but for a 5 day/4 night stay in Belize the Victoria House was a comfortable, friendly, and welcoming place!
The facility and grounds are impeccable and located on the water. Our room was spacious, well-appointed and very tropically vibish, with excellent AC!
Facilities don’t matter much without an excellent staff and the VH folks were five-star! From the cheerful Continental breakfasts waiting for us at 4 a.m. before a day of fishing to the ice cold beers at the bar or pool on return to the white tablecloth meals, every employee was engaging, friendly, and pleasantly local. Special shout-out to Travis, Vanessa, and Duane who all were on the spot with every one of our whims, but still a pleasure to get to know…not just a smile in a uniform who memorized names, but friendly people you’d want to hang out with.
Food was top notch, flavorful, fresh, filling, and always served with a smile.
Anglers loved the water access, non-anglers loved the pool, vibe and spa.

The hotel is beautiful. It’s right on the beach, although you cannot go out to the beach and use the beach in any way. There is an entrance to the beach if you walk down a ways, but I wouldn’t recommend it as there a seaweed everywhere on this side of the island and it smells bad. For the most part, we only smell the seaweed a few times during our stay.
There are three beautiful beautifully maintained pools and 3 restaurants and the food is very good here. The staff was very kind and met all of our requests. When we arrived in Belize city and we checked in to the airport in Belize city for our flight to San Pedro one of the staff at the airport asked us where we were staying and when we said we were staying at Alaia they gave us wristbands and helped us check in and escorted us to our gate. They gave us red carpet Service all the way from Belize city to the hotel. The concierge in Belize city even called the hotel for us to make sure somebody was waiting to take us to the hotel when we landed. And when we walked into the hotel, they gave us refreshing towels and a drink. It was a great experience!
We only had a small issue with our room which is that the light in the main bedroom kept coming on randomly throughout the night. It definitely kept waking us up. Other than that, the room was great. The air-conditioning worked great, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and although we booked a garden view room, they gave us a garden room with a partial view of the ocean. It was a great experience and we would definitely come here to stay again!

We went all out and rented 2 villas for a family vacation. This gave us a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom villa with a full kitchen and living room. We had a small plunge pool on the back patio and immediate access to the beach.
The choices of food were varied and affordable. (See pics). We ate at each restaurant at least once that week.
The concierge service was instrumental in booking a snorkeling trip, 2 fishing trips, and an all day trip into the jungle to see Mayan ruins and a cave tube float. They also arranged our rental of colt carts to explore the caye.

Top notch from the moment we arrived. Hotel staff is genuinely helpful and so friendly! Our 4yo somehow managed to call the front desk at one point and had a 5-minute convo about his life. We could hear her laughing!

I would never spend this much on a hotel, but I wanted to splurge for my birthday. For the amount I spent, it definitely was not worth it. When you’re spending thousands, it should be SUPERB. I’ve stayed at other hotels, both in and outside of the United States, that had exceptional customer service. The grounds and exterior were really nice, but the rooms were not. The shower head had mold all over it, and the low water pressure was insanely annoying. I only ate on the property twice and it was decent. I asked for champagne, and they brought me a glass of Prosecco that cost $17USD—and it wasn’t even good.
The hotel location was good. They have a parking lot directly across for the golf carts.
I think all the workers should be a little more knowledgeable about what’s going on around the property. It was extremely cold my last couple of days, so when I asked a staff member if the pool was heated and they told me no—only for me to go and find out it was heated—that was frustrating.
I literally hated the fan/light switches. I’ve never seen such a complicated setup. I even had to call the front desk, and they had to send someone to my room to fix it.
The mattress was extremely hard. The only thing that made the stay nice was having the cabana and the ocean view. I think there are other hotels in the area that are better. I thought it would be more lively, especially since pretty much all the rooms were booked. Don’t believe the HYPE🙃

I recently visited Cool Beans Cafe and I have to say, I was blown away by the amazing staff and delicious food. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure my dining experience was top-notch.

We had read the reviews before we stopped here but it looked so relaxed and laid back and frankly had gotten me wanting waffles the whole time we were here but this was our last morning on the island for this trip.
Just had to remember cash.
The coffees we had were decent...hers was hot and mine was iced. Again decent but we thought a breakfast place would blow us away - it didn't.
And they were smaller glasses as well.
My waffles were ok and the syrup is not thick. The eggs and bacon that came with it was the star of the meal.
Tried to communicate that we needed corn tortilla for gluten sensitivity but that ended up being no meat on my wife's meal. So I had to share my bacon.
It was a nice morning stop. The traffic was light and it is right across from the truck stop.
I would probably go for the fryjacks next time, but we will have to wait for that til next time.

Came here around 11:30am and were offered both the breakfast and lunch menus. The husband got the Belizian breakfast and I opted for a make-your-own breakfast.
I got a plate of fruit, banana bread and a side of homemade sausage. All fabulous choices! The fruit was plentiful and fresh. The banana bread came with a sweet jam on the side (A+). And the sausage! It was so flavorful, I am still dreaming about it at dinnertime.
We met a cat and some nice tourists while we were there. Overall, it was an outstanding experience. Highly recommended!

Stopped by after the first bakery I really wanted to try was closed. By the time we got there 9am there wasn't much left. I got a concha, cookie, cinnamon roll and ham and cheese croissant. We got also got water and Schweppes. There were several young girls 4 on the other side of the counter. I asked if they had a bathroom that we could use, to which they said no. The German chocolate cake and the coconut cake were fantastic. The pieces are large enough to share and fairly priced. They have a large selection of ice cream flavors and cheesecakes. Everything looks so good, the hardest part is choosing what to get. This was our first stop when we arrived, we found on Google and had no idea what to expect. We have been here for a few days now and I have to say, this hands-down the best food we have had so far. We had the Sunday brunch buffet and they had everything on it...it was fabulous. We went back for a regular breakfast the next day, it too was delicious. The staff is awesome , the service was excellent and Charmaine is delightful. I highly recommend this place if you are ever er on the island. Definitely a must visit!

We saw that Charmaine's had an all you can eat buffet on Sundays so we decided to give it a try. It was great, and while we were there we saw all of the desserts that they have. Beautiful cakes, cheesecakes and a large selection of ice creams. We decided to come back in the evening to get dessert before going back to our hotel. It was so good that we came back every evening for dessert. My husbands favorite was the German Chocolate Cake and mine was Dee's homemade Mango Sorbet! Everybody there are very friendly and welcoming. Can't wait for our next trip to San Pedro so we can go back to Charmain's!

I found this café on Instagram and reached out to them to make my sister’s birthday cake. Not only did she do a phenomenal job making the cake, but it tasted so good. It was worth every dollar spent. We absolutely loved this spot. What a gem! The food was incredible. The atmosphere inside is very cool. Waitresses are all kind, helpful and attentive. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you receive! I had the pizza panini which came with pasta salad and plantain chips. I wish there was more pasta salad because wow! So good. My boyfriend has the breakfast bagel which was served with fruit. We also had coffee and tea which were great. Sadly we only discovered the place on our last morning in San Pedro, otherwise we would’ve gone back for sure. I highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting San Pedro!!

Outstanding cafe with AC, near the center of town. One of the most pleasant surprises of being here in Belize is the Wi-Fi speed and this place is no exception. It was nearly 200/100. Some of the tables and seating are very comfortable and others are not due to the tables being a bit too high. They open at 7:00 a.m. and if you arrive early enough you can get a better choice of where to sit.
I loved the brown sugar shaken espresso. It's a bit like an espresso tonic served on ice. The Chai coffee is also very interesting. Breakfast was pretty good as well but I would recommend adding some protein as what they serve as limited. They also have a good selection of smoothies that you can add protein to.
We just arrived in town and we'll be here for 10 days and we will try a variety of places but I have a feeling this will become our favorite cafe.
Just a reminder that if you plan to work in this or any other cafe, remember they have bills to pay, especially the ones running AC, so be sure to order at least every 90 minutes or so.

This is HANDS DOWN the BEST breakfast experience in the entire country of Belize.
The steak and eggs are super authentic so you won’t get any cheap thin steak. You get quality when you’re ordering.
They asked me how I wanted my poached eggs and I said 3/4 cooked and I have never seen anyone poach eggs to that exact capacity.
They also have incredible beverages. From coffee to FRESH JUICES to Spritzers. Even alcoholic beverages that are unique.
My bf asked for a pineapple juice and since they didn’t have it on the menu, they made him a FRESH BATCH. Delicious!!
