The restaurant was established in 1976. The vibe is really cool. The atmosphere is really nice. The floor is sand to keep it authentic. I really loved the overall dining room. It's a very nice setting. The food is amazingly delicious. The Stone crab claws were delicious. I've never had them fried, but it worked for me. The bisque soup was rich with flavors. The whole baked hen was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. The fried whole snapper, excellent, caught that day. They get 4 out of 5 stars because they dont know how to cook the steak after ordering medium-rare. I got a solid medium, sent it back, and did not order another. I loved their conc fritters. I had to have 2 more orders. They're so delicious! Our server was fantastic, told us all about the history of the place and the food options. His preferences. Love him. Would I go back here? Well after being recommended by a few locals we knew we had to give Caliente Restaurant a try, and now we know why the locals would recommend this place. We showed up for lunch and were lucky to get there before the crowds (of mainly all locals). The the service was great and the food was even better than expected. Both the wife and I agreed this might have been the best meal of our whole trip. In fact had we tried eating here earlier in the trip we would have most likely eaten here more it was that good. Started with chips and salsa, which were very good. And of course homemade. But what I found and would be soon added to everything I ate there was the homemade hot sauce. If I could have figured a way to get this home safely I would. For the main course the wife order the chicken tacos and I ordered the shrimp Gordita. Both dishes were very large portions. And of course once again I added the homemade hot sauce to my meal. All the food was extremely fresh and flavorful. As stated above wish we would have had more time to eat here more to try more of the dishes. So if you are in the area make sure you eat here, as it won’t disappoint.

Most of the sushi was excellent. Only the tuna nigiri and sashimi were just average. The specialty rolls were delicious especially the fire dragon roll and my daughter said the avacado rolls were the best she has ever had. The ceviche roll was excellent too. Make sure you get the pork bun and the chewy chicken bun to start. I could eat a whole plate of them! My daughter also had the Ramen and it seemed very authentic with pork and a peanut sauce. Tasty! The fried chicken with yum yum sauce was so good as well. Not good things were it took a little while to get our food and the wine glasses smelled fishy maybe due to the dishwater they use. Skip the cheesecake, it was not good. The owner who is from Japan came to our table and thanked us. Found this Japanese Restaurant mentioned . Thought I would try it . It was a 5-10 minute rude from my hotel . It was a cute building snd the ambiance was pretty. The menu had a good variety of Japanese foods not just Sushi, like Curry , Gyozo ,Ramen and traditional Sushi. I was surprised no omakase. I ordered a Spicy Ramen with Pork Belly and some assorted Sashimi. It was a lot of food for one person. It was one of the best Ramen I have had , great flavor and right amount of spice, never hsd fried Jalapeno before in a Ramen. The Sashimi was so fresh , melt in the mouth fish , cut perfectly .meaning no tendond on chewing . Chef Jasmine was working away furiously as it was a very busy Tuesday evening. And with a beautiful smike. Would definitely recommend.

We had lunch here today which were two fantastic burrito bowls consisting of coconut rice, black beans, lots of veggies and avocado in a fried flour tortilla (think taco salad) and then a side of guacamole and chile sauce. Word to the wise, their guacamole and chips comes with bacon on it and doesn’t say anything about that so ask for no bacon, we already asked for no cheese or sour cream but didn’t even think to ask for no bacon hahaha. Hours later after ridiculously good massages at their spa, we went back for dinner. We got three of the five vegan labeled options: Thai peanut sauce veggie salad rolls, a broccoli apple ginger sesame salad, and the Zucchini coconut pasta. All were fresh and delicious and we both felt thankful for the emphasis on good clean vegetables expertly prepared and seasoned. It is very refreshing that they not only have vegan options, but that they seem to have put care into crafting them. The staff at Ramon’s have all been amazing as well from the Hol Chan snorkel trip we did to the servers at the restaurant and coffee/wine/beer/smoothie window to the front desk and the spa as well. I did a dive package through PADI and everything went great. The staff is very friendly and chill. The restaurant had some good dishes, most especially the shrimp tacos. Soo good. Plenty of comfortable seating, hammocks, etc. No lack for nice places to just sit and relax. For the price you’re paying to stay here, you would think you wouldn’t have to flag the waiter down for refills - every time. The food was average. Most of the restaurant and bar staff sat in guest chairs watching sports. We saw one server that was asleep. So many missed opportunities. One of our drinks only came 45 minutes into our stay at Sandbar, despite repeated requests to wait staff and one manager re: "we're missing a drink." The pizza was OK, nothing to write home about, a bit over-cooked... The ingredients were ample and fresh, but the pizza overall lacked flavor. The crust was hand-rolled on the edges, nice touch. The dough was a bit sweet for our taste. A decent pizza, but not worth the time and effort it took to get it. Many of the online reviews praise the pizza, but we cannot endorse it based upon our experience. If they weren't willing to provide us the service we were paying for, it would have been easier if they would have told us that... we would have moved on and come back another day, and perhaps had a better experience. We cannot recommend Sandbar for pizza based upon our experience, and unfortunately, we won't be going back to try anything else. That's how it works... Delicious food and excellent service! It was quite windy the night we visited but they have clear plastic guards up to help with the wind. My husband tried the shrimp nachos which he loved and he got the Local Delight fish fillet. He tried it both grilled and blackened (preferred the grilled, although he said both were delicious). Everything was made fresh to order and was hot and delicious. If we ever have the chance to return to Belize, we will definitely eat at Sandy Toes again!

Everything is above average here and the beds are super comfy, you get two pillows, a blackout privacy curtain and there’s AC 24/7. The rooftop swimming pool was the highlight for me and I barely had the need to leave the building. The staff were fantastic. Always smiling, always at your services and going the extra mile to accommodate you. They even arranged access to a separate room from where I could conduct my work meetings in peace. I really appreciated this. One other thing which I’ve not seen anywhere else is the free use of the washing machine and dryer in the communal kitchen which is fantastic. Would definitely come back.

However, we quickly discovered that it wasn’t really our vibe when we got there. The main appeal for us was the tables in the water. The fish swim right by your feet, which is cool! Outside of that, there wasn’t much special about it. The drinks and food seem pretty expensive compared to the prices you would pay at other restaurants in the island, but are pretty standard for secret beach. I think that for a different type of person, it would have been a lot of fun! Seems like a great place to go while in spring break or for a younger crowd traveling with friends.

Service is good. Take a pic of the menu and then pic your table (in or out the water). They will come through to take your order in about 10mins or so. Note, surprisingly, the further the tables were out in the water, the lower the water level was. The water was only at our lower backs near the swimg, but was at my shoulders closer to the stairs. Some of the tables were really high to try and jump onto the bench, and they are covered in sea plant growth. They maybe need stepping blocks or something...lol The average whole fish is going to run you about $40USD and it comes with 2 sides. Seafood platers start at $100USD. Lobster season starts in July. I love the campus vibe where homes are individual on the property, but you still have the feeling of being at the resort. The pool and great house were wonderful and relaxing. The quick boat ride to their private beach was the highlight of the stay. The private beach was intiment and breath taking. Truly a special place. Anywhere else I would understand this concept, but if you're a beach property, that doesn't work. I had sand piling up on the entrance of the room within the first 6 hours. You act like you have paved roads. All the roads are pebble roads. Took me 20 minutes and an international phone call for them to pick up their phone. They never answer their phone from the room and you can't even tell what button to press to connect to anyone. I had to use my cell phone internationally to call the hotel to transfer me so I can get towels. On my second night I woke up covered with ants. I had ants in the bed. I had ants on the nightstand. When I went to check out I explained my situation and the manager seemed to understand. They offered to remove the gazebo charge and one of the nights I stayed. It's been 20 days. I haven't seen a refund. Working with Hilton Honors to figure this out.
