Very romantic park setting and scenic along the Red River. In the summer, we took the guided boat tour which is inexpensive and about 90 minutes long. You'll see numerous musical shows on weekends. Temperatures that summer in July were about 82 degrees Fahrenheit. In the winter in November and March when it was 14 degrees (which is considered balmy here), the area which usually has events becomes an ice-skating rink and there's a small makeshift hockey rink across from it. The Forks Market was a pleasant surprise. Every lunch and dinner location we tried was delicious and fairly priced. The BEST croissants I've ever tasted are at the Tall Grass Prairie Bakery. Don't let the long line scare you as you'll be served within minutes. In my most recent stay, I was at the Inn at the Forks. It's very pricey, but worth it to get a great scenic view in the morning and is in the heart of the park. It's only a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Winnipeg. On a negative note, on my last night in 2020, I took some souvenir photos at midnight along the scenic river and was followed all the way back to the hotel by a meth addict who thought I was taking photos of him and yelling at me. I had to kick the guy out of the hotel as no one from the front desk wanted to get involved or call police. Sadly, there were some high profile events in 2022 of folks being beaten, stabbed and robbed in the Forks...and this occurred in daylight. I hope they will add cameras in the park that were lacking when I was last there. Because of the growing drug and crime issue in the area, I was going to give it a 4 star review instead of a 5. Hopefully, law enforcement will beef up their presence here because it really is a BEAUTIFUL place to be, regarding of the season. I hope the Forks will give you the same enjoyment and positive memories that it gave me and will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart!

There is no admission…there is a donation box but I chose to buy this authentic police vest for my canned drinks (20$) and a thin blue line police pin (7.50) because all profits go directly back into the curating of the museum! This gigantic quilt made by a retired officer blew me away—definitely worth a gander. You won’t believe all the interesting history here. The little gift shop area has other items and t-shirts etc—well worth a look! I don’t know what took me so long to get my butt over there!

She’s a medium from New York City. We had been to one of her shows here in Winnipeg before at this casino. It’s a great venue because it’s smaller so it works very well for her group readings etc. She’s able to move around the theatre easily and gets to everyone in the audience without any trouble. This casino is the better one of the two right in Winnipeg. They have updated it through out the years and I really like what the last designer did with the space. It’s now got a classy feel to it and the high ceiling at the entrance give it a Grand feeling. The lights on the outside of the building are a nice touch. I also like the wolf sculpture outside. There are no pets allowed if you stay at the hotel. We really enjoy staying there when we are in town because we also like to gamble. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The staff at this casino have always been friendly to natives. They have a playmaker’s lounge that has a nice little bar where you can chill to get away from the busy crowds for a bit and grab a bite to eat. They also have great drink specials in you like to have a cocktail and relax. Don’t wear a suit because this casino is pretty chill. Unless it’s for a show or concert this is not a place trendy people go. Enjoy your stay here and make the slots treat you well!

It almost set the tone for the rest of the people and the evening. Undecided about whether we want to go back as we just did not enjoy ourselves at all. The whole park is bike friendly and dog friendly. Dogs are off leash. When we went there were many white seeds covering the forest, looked like snow. When I went there the gates were closed so I had to go all the way back out of the cemetery and take the highway which is a very narrow two laner and has zero shoulder, deep ditches on each side, and massive semis rolling down it full speed. You must be careful if you take this way. I have a trailer so I had to be extra careful and take up extra room on the road. You could take the 190 highway depending on where you are but it will take much longer to get there, but there is a massive paved shoulder so that’s good but you will have to cross the bridge, though.
