The service and staff were 100% welcoming and helpful. Our room was OK. It was a bit musty and the heater did take quite some time to warm up. I don’t get an option of where to stay, hence I have had to come back over and over again. Rooms are all miss matched - you never quite know what you’ll get. Some are better than others, every room is different. All rooms with renovations are done on the cheap. The furniture in the one bedroom apartment I’m currently staying in is beyond belief in terms of the level of uncleanliness and need for update. All rooms are musty and stale smelling. Bathrooms amenities are cheap. Everything is in the room is cheap but the price tag to stay isn’t. Photos show a lot. Heater smells like vomit once it’s turned it on. Food is mediocre. They are good at hosting conferences which is why we often stay here, and the service from staff is decent and friendly and professional when it comes to events. Venue is far from town, nothing nearby, but some like the appeal of that and being close to beach. There is however much better accommodation available close to the beach. Would not recommend to stay.

Everything needed for a stay was provided. The gardens are so well maintained, the resort is stunning. Way too cold to go for a swim in July however the pool was beautiful. Rooms are not safe for toddlers - bedroom has a "fire door" that isn't lockable from the inside. Similar to many other negative reviews - stepping into Aanuka is like stepping 20-30 years back in time. Imagine an older home with a bad DIY reno job. No servicing rooms (3 night stay), 1 roll of toilet paper, no bin bag replacements. One of our original towels had stains on it. None of that bothers me enough to leave a bad review... however when asking for clean towels (at 8.30pm) - I was told there's a $2 charge per towel (not to own - to merely use!). Ours were soaked from the pool. They offered me washing powder to wash our wet towels... Had a choice of either drying my 2 year old with a wet towel that night - or spending $2. The staff were really nice and quite relaxed considering how busy it was and how many people were complaining at them. The bar manager needs to step up - his staff were coping it. They were great with the cake we bought in. This is for the owners/management- your staff we're struggling in that small bar space. Staff were professional, helpful and sympathetic to the long travel day we'd had. The Staff were able to provide some great information about nearby eateries and other amenities to assist with our unplanned night in Coffs Harbour. Accommodation was generous sized, clean and well fitted out. Location was a walking distance manageable for children to eateries and town centre. Should my family plan to stay in Coffs Harbour, I would certainly be looking to stay again at the Quality Hotel.

I’ve stayed in five-star resorts in the area before, but Smugglers was just as good and, in some ways, even better. We stayed in Unit 18, a modern and beautifully presented 3 bedroom apartment. It was spacious, fresh, and thoughtfully decorated with lush carpet, stylish wall art, and a large wall-mounted TV. The complex itself is quiet, well maintained, and family-friendly, with a lovely BBQ area and a clean pool. While the water was a bit cold (as expected in winter), the pool area was still a great place to soak up the sun. The only slight downside was that some of our friends stayed in another unit in the same complex that felt a bit dated in comparison, not nearly as modern or upgraded as Unit 18 which felt like a 5-star apartment. Overall, Smugglers on the Beach is in a fantastic location , just a short stroll to a quiet beach eg like 20 meters!!! and only minutes from Coffs Harbour. Upon check-in the staff made it clear its an older part of the hotel, not so flash. I laughed when I saw the room, yes it was older and had imperfections but it was fine. The room was clean, comfortable furnishings, and a lovely verandah overlooking a little rainforest area. We still had access to all the amenities and beach. I can only imagine the complaints they get to have to warn people before going to the room. We went to eat at the shared restaurant. Food was nice. Although the night we went there was an issue with staffing so they made it pizza night. There were a couple of other options for those that don't eat pizza. Perfectly fine. The bar served all the usual stuff. We had a lovely relaxing stay. If I wasn't so keen to get home we would've extended our stay.

In terms of accessability the room was a bit small for a wheelchair, having said that it was conveniently located near the elevators. While the amenities looked great (though we didn’t use them), the place overall felt quite outdated. There was a conference being set up in the foyer when we arrived, which made the reception area feel confusing and tucked away in a corner. Our room was located on the bottom level, the furthest possible walk from the elevator (around 100m), which was a challenge with a child in tow. The biggest disappointment was the bathroom - the toilet was leaking from the rear and looked like it had been that way for some time, with discoloured grout around the area suggesting an ongoing issue. Not pleasant having sewerage leaking. On top of that, there was a sensor light right outside our room that turned on and lit up the inside of our room every time it was triggered... not ideal when trying to get a toddler to sleep. The blind didn't completely cover the windows either which was an issue. Due to roadworks (unsure if it's normally like this), when traveling back from Coffs, you need to exit off the next fwy exit and then get back on the fwy in the opposite direction to get back to the accomodation. On the positive side, the room itself was clean. The beds were reasonably comfortable, I’d rate them about 3.5/5.

Our room itself was nice, but the bathroom was very outdated. The bathroom itself was fine, with all the basics things you need, but would’ve been nice to have a modern bathroom to match the modern ish room. Unfortunately the curtains didn’t cover the windows fully, resulting in the sun beaming in as soon as it rose. On top of this, our room seemed to have had a door connecting to a completing other room. While it was locked, the gap underneath the door still let through some unwanted light from the next room which is not ideal when the neighbours have their lights on at midnight and the lights brightly shines under the door. Speaking of neighbours…. The walls…. Extremely thin, I could also hear a whole conversation from the next room. While that is not the neighbours fault, they were extremely loud and inconsiderate while on the balcony, and in hallways. I feel as though the resort should reiterate the importance of noise control to insure that other guests aren’t being disturbed by the noisy ones. Another unfortunate feature was that one of the beds in our room didn’t have breaks on, resulting in it almost sliding out from underneath me. Luckily I wasn’t injured by this, but it’s a huge safety issue in my eyes. Lastly, there was male genitalia previously drawn on the bathroom mirror when it was fogged up. While we found it not to be an issue, I’m sure that not everyone would think this way A few little positives to end this review; the staff were extremely lovely and welcoming which created a nice atmosphere to start our stay. The view from our room was small however still stunning, and lastly the pool/spa area was fantastic, huge which plenty of seating which made relaxing outside enjoyable. The beach is also less than a 2 minutes walk from the reception which was the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately we wouldn’t stay here again but our experience may have just been a one off

Would never recommend the breakfast as we are so used to the other breakfasts, but some children would be fine with it as how the pancakes come out would be a novelty to them. The bathrooms were cleaned, but the ever present issue of ventilation and maybe MOULD might be Sth the management will HAVE to look into… probably our first and last stay or stay of last resort… wouldn’t stay for the rooms, would happily return if that were improved because the staff were nice. After a 4 hour + trip we were all needed to go to the room to unwind ECT. Chris it was nice to meet you but there was too much to see in Coffs to allow us to spend time with your teams. The room was 3 beds 2 single and double sized but only one bathroom and toilet. But we managed. The walks via the bushes to the beach was exciting the beach area which is attactive. There is bbq areas before the beach and this could be a feature in Windham promotions. Besides the one near the pool. We had a great time and worth the trip.

The let down for us though was the cabin cleanliness, and I'm not talking just the 'older feel' but outright dirty. Turn the shower on and watch the dirt was across the floor, have to clean down actual dirt off the kids mattresses before making the beds, physical dust layers across the skirtings and light switches, mould on the back of the bathroom door and the floor literally gritty underfoot. Retrain the cleaners and this is a cracking park. And to finish on a positive, the staff were great but the fact the after hours bloke saw us drive in and took the time to introduce himself and let us he's around etc. That shows me they do care about their guests. Hopefully we just copped a poor clean during a busy schedule.

I stayed there for three nights and it was amazing. The service was perfect. Rooms were so clean the managers over there so friendly so nice and couldn’t find any single complain about this place. It is in a really good place so close to shops that we could walk even there and the surrounding was good. This was my first time pick up so and I could drive anywhere from it with no time they have enough parking for the cars on premises and I will do it again and again every time I go to Kass Harbour that’s my place to go and I really really recommend it to everyone who wants to find a very clean nice and very welcome place . Staff very welcoming and accomidating. The room we had was small but enough for mostly sleeping or watching tv. Need an extra towel in the shower as tiles there are very slippery. Also would be better if parking was allocated to the room you are staying in as at times we would leave , come back and find parking further away from our room and as we have struggles with disabilities it made it hard to unpack or walk to our room. However when I spoke to staff they allowed us to put a garbage bin in the spot near our room. We did have a guest one remove the bin and take our spot. Perhaps a sign saying reserved would help under these circumstances. Loved the pool only had the chance to go in once but very refreshing And as we arrived mid week I was the only one in it.

The highway noise will definitely be an issue for some, but the easy access is a pro. Very comfy bed. I had a bad experience with sporadic hot water in the shower. Beds were super comfy and receptionist that called me was very polite and lovely to deal with. We stayed the weekend of the Aussie PH for 3 nights. It was cleaned daily with new towels. Close to the shops, good aircon unit and spacious for the cost. Only downfall was coming back late on our last night and having the car park full. Not sure if there was enough spaces for 1 vehicle per room but if so I recommend marking and having allocated car park spaces. We ended up parking our Ute on the roadside and came back to Brisbane to find one of the locks damaged in my husbands toolbox after parking it on the road. This was the only downfall but overall I do recommend the hotel, just please allocate the parking spaces if possible.

You couldn’t tell as everything was spotless. The foyers and lifts are all presented perfectly. You can tell renovations have happened. Our rooms furniture was a little dated but during our stay we had furniture swapped over so they are definitely in the process of renewing the furniture in the apartment we stayed in. The service is amazing. Simone was so lovely from the minute we arrived. Our daughter got sick and we asked for a roll out bed so we didn’t have the kids sharing a room when one was sick. This was no trouble at all. Didn’t charge for the extra bed the whole time we stayed here. Simone did everything possible to accommodate us. The weather was torrential and they had extra towels out near the entry and plastic bags to put wet dirty shoes/boots in. I would definitely recommend Simone and her team. Friendly enough girl at reception, however cleaning staff need to be taught how to clean. Even the exterior entrance and grounds look messy and uncared for. A lot of money paid for 3 bedroom on 15th floor for 2 nights, and when we got into our room, we quickly realised we paid way too much. Views from lounge balcony are excellent if you have the dirty glass doors open. I understand that sea spray can sometimes be an issue, but massive hand and finger prints all over the doors and windows told me that it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Even the small balcony was dirty and cluttered with too many old, and not nice,chairs and a few extra stacked up. Apart from a thorough deep clean, the unit desperately needs re painting and renovations. Only the main bathroom had had a bit of an upgrade- the rest of the unit (the kitchen, ensuite, furniture and more) were definitely 70’s/80’s . I can deal with a tiny ensuite ( door literally hits toilet), but it was extremely dated and not very clean. When you see cobwebs inside on the lounge room windows and curtains, you know housekeeping isn’t doing their job. With a wonderful location and excellent views, Pacific Towers could be a fabulous resort, the potential is there. However it needs new management, cleaning staff and a big renovation. So until that happens, I (sadly) won’t be staying there again.

I can't believe there are so many good reviews of this place. The bed was awful and sunk into the middle so the two of us ended up sinking into it. The mattress definitely needs to be changed. There was no aircon in the bedrooms and the blankets provided were very thin, so being in winter we were pretty cold at night. Would have liked to put a heater on in the bedrooms, but could only put the one on from the lounge room which didn't really heat the bedrooms. For some unknown reason they have a light on a pole right outside our bedroom windows (see picture). Crazy bright light that shone ALL night. Didn't turn on and off when people went by on a motion sensor, just blasted all night. Even with blinds closed it was like sleeping on the surface of the sun. WHAT are you thinking???? Don't say 'oh its for safety' Put the light on a sensor at least people. It's common sense! My husband removed the light bulb after the first night so we could actually get some sleep. We requested that our accommodation be next to each other and the team made this happen, with no issues at all. From the time we booked in, to the time we left, we were made to feel so special by Vanessa. She went out of her to way to always check in to see if there was anything we needed, if there was anything she could help with. It felt like home away from home. The room was perfect & clean with an amazing view of the ocean from the balcony. I slept with the balcony doors open so I could hear the waves through the night. The receptionist was fantastic & gave me some local recommendations for dinner & a drink or 3! Which I may have?! All the staff I encountered (including the cleaners) all gave me a hello & a friendly smile. Made me feel so welcome. I’ll definitely be back soon(ish) for a few nights to enjoy the area. Room was well equipped and clean. Although the living room lounge needs a professional clean. Bathroom had some piping issues. Seems though the system needs attention as the toilet made noises every minute which broke all our sleep constantly. Apartment was very spacious and big enough for 7 of us staying. Given there were 7 of us for 4 days simple things like more than 2 rolls of toilet paper should be provided (we got more when we asked), bin bags, tea towels and even forks (there were only 6 whereas there were 7 of us). The biggest concern however was the ant infestation. We did call to ask for some bug spray when we checked in after seeing the ants, but it never came. If these things are taken care of it would be perfect. The location is great; the pool is top notch and very clean too. There was no solutions given, nothing about giving us updates and she hung up very quickly after giving her "condolences". Apparently this wasn't the first break-in recently, as according to a woman staying here, this happened to her last weekend as well and nothing was done. The attitude of the maintenance people (the only staff available on site) was appalling, and they tried to deny that it happened at all, saying to the people that were broken into that "no one else had reported anything", even though the police were called. We each had a Queen room on the ground floor. The team promptly answered my queries, were accommodating to our needs and made extending our stay a breeze. The cleaning crew were also lovely to chat with and do a great job with the daily house keeping. Beds were comfortable with various subscriptions programmed on the TV (provided you are a subscriber to Netflix, Stan, etc). Insect spray was provided which is rare and appreciated to keep the mosquitoes away. Love the Norco branded mini milk bottles, and complimentary biscuits that are provided. Best shower gel, shampoo and conditioner I've used in a motel (Ink & Water). Plenty of parking, however under cover is limited and we wish there was a sink at the coffee making area rather than use the bathroom sink as there isn't much space but other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would revisit again in future. We ask when we checked in if it wasn't comfortable could we get refund the next 2 nights was told no it was too late. This is incorrect. We have given 24hrs notice. We don't normally book online but it was a last-minute trip. I am disabled and the room needs to fit my requirements. We felt they didn't listen. It seems to be all about the bookings and not the people who stay. We paid $258 for first two nights and $215 for third night. This was not worth it. We were going to discuss this with management before we left but they weren't open when we were leaving.

Where they had a traveller tentatively booked into our room, they did what I call 'the booking shuffle' and we were never left looking for somewhere else to stay. The holiday cabins down the road are undergoing the same face lift, and while a little dated still they are very clean, plus there is a lovely lady, Jackie, who lives in the park to help keep things clean, and an eye on the park for Mark and Donna. I would 100% recommend either place. Mark and Donna are amazing, and in my opinion, what they have achieved since taking over management is just the start of things to come.

However the staff is not so friendly which made my stay not pleasant at all. There was a misunderstanding of the checking out time so I was a few minutes late and the lady at reception just crushed in and commanded me to leave immediately with really bad manners. I do understand every policy and I understand that they need to clean the room. The only thing I don’t understand is why the reception act so rude which made me feel like I’m a homeless who’s trying to stay here forever without paying rather than a customer. At one stage they gave us a room with less beds than what we actually booked and paid for. They tried to make up for it by having a pregnant lady drag in some steel folded cot that wouldn't stay flat. Apartment 218 was disgusting, so much so, that when we checked in for our week away, we had to go to Aldi and buy some cleaning products, so I could at least get the apartment to a state that we could stay in and no toilet paper. The door of the apartment was left wide open, I presume that was done because of the funky smell it had ( to air it out). If try to cook, the electric cook top was extremely old and the range hood simply didn't work and above all it was filthy dirty, no washing liquid and only one dish washing tablet. The microwave was also filthy. The black mould in the bathroom was horrendous along with the mould in the shower, the toilet door handle was falling hanging on, hot water system in one of the cupboards, fans full of dust and peeling paint, and rubbish left in draws of bedside tables from previous customers.The whole apartment felt like it had not been cleaned for months, the air conditioning system remote was missing a battery. I tried several times to go down and talk to someone in reception, but on the only day someone was there, they made it clear that they couldn't help me and that they would pass on a message to the owner/caretaker (as she had her child in the car and had to go), I never received a call or any sort of communication. I spoke to someone called Mel on the Thursday before checking in ( we checked at 5pm on Saturday) as was told to come down on the Sunday or Monday to fix up the bill. When I went to reception on Sunday, there was no one there, when i went on Monday, no one was there. What i was most annoyed about was the fact that Mel told us that we could fix up the bill on premises, but on checking our bank statement on Sunday afternoon, we realized that the payment had been taken out, with out any notification. Very badly run and very unclean. Find somewhere else to stay.

We are new to independent check in but the instructions were clear and the process easy. The underground allocated parking an unexpected and happy surprise. Access from the car park via lift made moving our luggage easy. The rooms were wonderful. Well appointed and provided everything for our stay. The bed, comfortable and bathroom a delight. Outside the garden setting with pools, soothing . I must address the train. The line is there though you cannot see it and the only train I heard was one at 3.30am, I was already awake and took awhile to realise what it was it was so quiet. So I decided to take this time to write my review. Highly recommended and a 4+ stars from us.

I am travelling solo, when given ground floor I feared being broken into, but to my surprise it’s all good, car park at the bottom is fully secured, you need a key to get in, enough ventilation in the rooms the homeless lady some people spoke about is actually nice, I spoke to her today by the road, the train that goes by isn’t much of a fuss if you are travelling down from the cities. The balconies are spacious too. If you prefer cooking your own meals and don’t like going out much it’s very nice. It is always good to communicate your needs during reservations. Close your windows and get ear plugs if you are a light sleeper trains will only go 3 to 4 times in a day. Shower works just fine, and internet is good, I use Optus, they also provide wifi if you would come for work, kitchen is fully equipped meaning you can bake or make rice. You also have access through the front door if you have been allocated a room at the ground floor. Knives need a little sharpening and the living room blinds need a little more privacy as a solo female Ofcourse but I recommend 🙂

The room was extremely dirty with pubic hairs in the double bed. The mould and bird droppings covered the outside verandahs and a family of four was given one roll of toilet paper! The accomodation was 50 metres away from a Train Crossing not a train station - with heavy freight trains running throughout the night awakening us to the loud crossing sirens and flashing red lights. The area is very dodgy with a large amount of homelessness and people using ice. Certainly not a holiday destination! Upon complaining they have now stolen my phone charger and have refused to send it in the prepaid satchel I sent. Unless you are looking for a place to hide from the ice heads DO NOT jeopardise the safety of your family by ingesting the abundance of mould here or frazzle yourself with no sleep due to the sirens, flashing lights and thundering freight trains! The amount of mould especially in the stairwells was everywhere!! I have many photos I would like to share so people don't expose themselves to the harmful effects of Mould.

Initially though it was great, but we swept up a good dustpan of dog hair, fluff and dirt. The couch was covered in dog hair.
