Getting from the ship pier to the hotel was a breeze, could have walked but didn't want to struggle with the luggage. The welcome to Pier One was excellent! We arrived early so when they let us check in at 10 am it just made the arrival that much better. Ivan, the concierge at the desk was extremely professional and cheerful at all time. This morning I needed documents printed, done! I simply wanted a croissant not a complete breakfast. Ivan once again took care of my needs. Room was clean with a beautiful view of the Sydney Harbourr Bridge....plenty of space for myself and 2 adult children. Pool/Gym area were nice. Being right next to the ferry and train station was perfect for getting around. Of course it took a minute to figure out how they all worked but we got the hang of it quickly. The extra I paid for add on breakfast was well worth it....menu style with select items to choose from and all were delicious. Restaurant staff was polite but not quick with requests or I guess attentive. They definitely weren't rude though. The 3 gentleman I dealt with at the front desk staff were all very friendly and personable. I would absolutely stay here again.

Small convenience store next to the front entrance. Very limited parking outside the entrance with only 3x spots. Valet parking available and during our stay it was $75 p/n. Large gardens directly across the road to explore. Located in the heart of Circular Quay with plenty of dining venues to choose from and also minutes walk from all ferries. Could stay here to catch a cruise as the dock is located on the other side, approx 5-7min walk. Train station and tram is also very close. 5min walk to Sydney Opera House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We booked the larger bridge view room and were very pleased with the space we had. Had a kitchenette, laundry, and large balcony with fabulous view. We had initially booked for our 2 day layover in Sydney on the front end of our trip, we had such a lovely stay we opted to also book for our departure layover as well. We usually send over a few requests prior to our hotel stays (make the pull out bed up, extra towels, usually a late or early check in request) this is one of the few hotels that actually had all our requests met at check in. The staff and property were top-notch—clean, efficient, and genuinely thoughtful. It stayed there for 3 days even after I complained and promised to get a “vip cleaning” For total 6 nights of stay the floor was clean for only 1 day. For two days there were pillowcases left in the room(not on the pillow). The mugs weren’t always cleaned. Bathrobe doesn’t get replaced even I put it on the ground intentionally. The hand towel was absent since day 2. The table wasn’t wiped at all. Everyday coming back to the hotel is a surprise, wondering what I can find today? All the front desk can do is saying that they know it’s not acceptable and all the fault goes to the housekeeping team. They would escalate the issue to higher management but I doubt that would change anything.I’ve also received an email with bureaucratic response from Dave, still blaming the housekeeping team. I know some mistake can happen sometimes. But failed to do it for 6 consecutive nights even after complaint or so called “vip cleaning” is just so unbelievable. This is so much worse than any of the hotels I’ve stayed. Even those 3-star/4-star hotels. I believe There’s still lots of options in this region, just stay away from Kimpton

Overall: Ovolo used to be one of my favourite places to stay, but it feels like many of the small touches and thoughtful services that made it special have been cut, while prices remain the same or higher. We stayed at the Ovolo on Saturday the 15th of November and will never stay there again. The room was in need of a deep clean, with significant stains on the couches, and the bathroom in need of a vacuum given the dead spider near the toilet. Further to this, in the bathroom, the towel rack over the toilet fell down and thankfully no one was hurt. The body wash in the shower was almost empty upon check in, with both problems needing to be reported. The body wash was refilled however the towel rack remained on the floor. There is very dim lighting in the bathroom which is not helpful when needing to use the bathroom mirror. And to top it off, we just received a charge for an item in the minibar that we didn’t have. Ironic given it was a peanut brittle and we have allergies. Given the amount paid for the room, it did not meet expectations.

The service was great, greeted by friendly staff always and room was very clean and comfortable. Location wise is superb too, close to China town and light rail to get to Circular Quay. Plenty of restaurants nearby. We were able to walk about 16 mins to get our rental car too! We booked though Luxury Escape and have breakfast and drinks included in our package. They serve very good food and the café and pub in the hotel are such a nice addition for gathering and relaxing after a day spent outside. I came home and noticed my credit card was charged for something I did not know. I gave them a call and quickly they reverse the charge! I am very happy with that as it is always scary to let the hotel hold on few hundred dollars and not knowing what they could be charging. At least this incident was sorted very easily and quickly. I booked a weekend away for my partners 70th and not only did the hotel upgrade us free of charge.to the most beautiful junior suite they also left in the room for our arrival a really fantastic bottle of red wine, macarons and a hand written birthday card. We were both really blown away by this gesture. The junior suite was really quite special a beautiful big bed in the middle of the room, comfortable seating and a huge bathroom with a circular bath. We really both felt spoilt. The bed was so comfortable with great bedding we could have spent a lot of time just in the room. The room comes with a Nespresso machine which is always useful for that first caffeine fix in the morning. You also get a great Marshall blue tooth speaker to enjoy sounds while lounging in the wonderful bed. Everyone one we encountered from the team managing the place could not have been nice or more professional they will go out of there way to make this a special stay. We ate 3 times in the Parlour restaurant and again the food and service could not be faulted. I can recommend the Negroni's and the cheese soufflé. This 70th birthday was made to be extremely special by the QT hotel and we both cannot then them enough.

There is a large gap at the bottom of the door so you could here every single noise from the hallways, plus with it being above a club, there was club music vibrating through my room until after 3am, and this was on a Tuesday night, I couldn't imagine what it is like on a Friday or Saturday night. Additionally, I really didn't like that there is no additional lock from the inside to allow that added level of security from the inside. Wouldn't be in a rush to stay here again because of the noise.

The high recommendations are justified. This is a very nice place to stay. It’s not your typical grand scale hotel. It is elegant, boutique lodging in a residential neighborhood. It’s a short walking distance from the Kings Cross train station, which is a huge plus. We were allowed to order off menu for our fussy toddler (at breakfast) and change up our orders too. The little set up downstairs (bar, breakfast etc) is also really cute and I liked it. I would strongly encourage Spicers to not only replace all the bed linen, but also their bath towels (looking very old and tatty). I also personally dislike carpeted hotel rooms (unless the hotel has a shoes off policy). I'd love to see the carpet replaced with a mote hygienic material (its also stained).

The room was comfortable, clean and we generally enjoyed our time at the hotel. However, the service did not quite meet the standard we expected from a 5-star property. So, on to the ferry we went to Watsons Bay. After a short, scenic trip across the harbour we arrived at the Watsons Bay Wharf. We spent a couple of hours walking around the area, taking in the spectacular sight of The Gap Bluff and the Sydney Harbour National Park. At around lunch time, feeling a tad peckish, we decided to drop in to the Watsons Bay Hotel for lunch. We were greeted by several young, friendly staff members. After noticing that the open dining area was very busy, (with its accompanying silver gulls and flies), we asked if we could have a table in a more serene spot. All credit to the staff, they suggested that we travel up the stairs to the indoor dining area. We found a perfect, quiet table with a terrific view. We ordered chicken burgers and collected our drinks at the downstairs bar. All at reasonable prices too! Food was delivered quite quickly and was of an excellent standard. We were so pleased to have taken up the recommendation to visit the hotel.

Was disappointed with our overall stay. Room wasn’t very clean - old blood stains were found on the bathroom floor beside the toilet and the bin. The floor didn’t appear to have been mopped. The rug in the bedroom that surrounded the bed had multiple old pee stains from other dogs which was not inviting. Who would want to step on an old stain? I had to ring up the service desk to request some dog bowls once we got into the room and noted there was nothing in the room that would’ve made me think it was pet friendly. I did expect that they would’ve had some items already in the room for my dogs awaiting us, as I had to ring ahead of time and had emailed the hotel weeks ahead to confirm that it was all set for us to go ahead bringing our fur babies. The lifts in the hotel had carpet that also had multiple old stains on it. For a hotel classed as a luxury hotel and for the amount of money spent it was definitely not worth it for me. Not to mention being a hotel that promotes itself on being pet friendly you’re better off getting an Airbnb. Furthermore, the noise from the hallways travelled in to our room and thus detracted from our overall experience given our room was the closest to the lift and people entering and exiting the lift at all hours. In conclusion a regretful stay and a waste of money.

We asked for extra pillows and towels. Neither arrived. I ended up grabbing some off a housekeeping trolley. The next day we were sitting in the bar and I requested it. They said it would take 15min, it was over an hour before it arrived. The pool was full of gross scum/ oil in the morning before we got in. It was also completely inaccessible to anyone with mobility issues. We had mentioned the trip was a birthday present for my son- no acknowledgement of that at all. The whole hotel was just extremely budget- which I would have been completely fine with if I was paying a budget price- but it was incredibly expensive. The footpath is pitted and has more camber than a NasCar track. No doubt this is Sydney Councils fault but I'd suggest the hotel work with them to get a steel ramp embedded in the road for access.

She lied straight to our faces about information she had given us moments before when she gave no such information and accepted no accountability for causing stress and confusion. Her use of the term ‘that’s why I said ….’ multiple times when she had said no such thing(s) was infuriating, and her smug attitude was appalling. I do hope she’s not a regular on the desk, she is 100% more suited to something behind the scenes instead of interacting with guests as she’s the main reason we’ll never stay here again. We had booked for 3 people and the room was only set for 2, she had the audacity to ask if we would like a second bed set up, really? Are we expected to all sleep in the same bed? We didn’t check in until late evening, surely someone could have used common sense or called us before our arrival to check instead of coming into the room after we’d arrived! There was also no hand soap provided in the bathroom so we had to walk into the deathtrap shower (slippery tiles when wet, no grooves for grip or floor mat) to get body wash every time we wanted to wash our hands, as well as only enough towels for 2 people, despite our booking being for 3 people. We didn’t bump into a single person while coming and going during our stay, yet our room was the second last at the end of 2 corridors and right beside construction, which I’m sure was a last minute change because the receptionist didn’t appreciate us saying ‘you never said that’ while she was lying to us! This is more like serviced apartments rather than a hotel. While they have a hotel reception, they have no pool, no gym, no restaurant or even their own parking. You need to park in a Metro carpark and get a ticket to be charged to your card at checkout. We had issues getting our car out of the carpark with the ticket and no one around to help for about 15 minutes because it’s not the hotels car park and Metro staff weren’t available. The only good thing about this place was the location, but it rained the whole time we were there so we didn't get to the beach. With no pool in the ‘hotel’ it added to our disappointment during our stay. We will choose somewhere else the next time that has more to offer.

We went a week in advance of the Sydney Marathon, for we were both running it. It was a long haul to get there, but worth every mile traveled to get there. We were greeted with so much joy and hospitality by Laura at the front desk. She was incredibly welcoming and helpful in guiding us on what to do and how to get around the city. We were able to check in early, which was great, considering our travels. I cannot say enough great things about Laura, her thoughtfulness, enthusiasm, guidance and her assistance. Since we were preparing for the race, she helped secure a reservation for a larger group in Sydney. The hotel itself is perfectly located in Bondi Beach with easy access to the beach and plenty of restaurants. Additionally, there is a bus stop across the street that got us into Sydney very easily and conveniently. The layout of the room was perfect! The room had a balcony, couch, desk, nice bathroom, cooking surface and washer/dryer combo. Upon our return to Australia, I will stay there again! Cheers!
