Beautiful laid out on red velvet and well lit, there were hand written letters and sheet music from some of the most famous classical artists in German, French, and English. There was a smaller display of documents relating to the Titanic that the gentleman (the docent maybe?) explained had been put out to accommodate some school tours and homeschool co-ops. We had the place all to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon, which was lovely. I noticed there was a small area set aside that a child could play at. Also the building has amazing acoustics, which I discovered when I had a sneezing fit that echoed beautifully all around. I would definitely recommend taking a half hour to check out the display. We assumed this would be a quick walk around a small building, and we were pleasantly surprised to be wrong. The volunteers give you a guided tour and explain everything in great detail. The staff were amazing and friendly as well and very accommodating. The planetarium is fully ADA and wheelchair accessible. We were not disappointed. They are playing two shows this weekend (although we saw the last showing of The Longest Night tonight). They are still showing two matinees tomorrow, 12/22, of Let it Snow, an animated holiday music show. Our 6 yo really enjoyed the pre-show talk about the stars in our night sky and the show was lovely. The presenter was knowledgeable and very personable and took time to give us telescope recommendations after the show. They have new shows starting next weekend, so check out their website. They are in a temporary facility in Buckham Hall at Buffalo State College. I rated it a 4 only because the folding chairs were uncomfortable. We look forward to the new facility which looks beautiful.
