I had visited once before and got the eggplant parm which was very good and I wish I did that this visit, too. The fish fry itself was boring in taste but the tartar sauce did help add a little dimension. The coleslaw was good and the mac salad was great but did not have enough noodles. We could not find a parking lot, so we paid for street parking. Atmosphere was spot on and we all enjoyed the ambiance. There is also stairwell in the front with a gigantic Godzilla mural. Not sure if there is an elevator for those with mobility aids. Floor 2 is another bar and mostly retro cabinet games, think Street Fighter and Punch Out, with a row of 90s pinball machines. One pinball machine (Aerosmith) took our money but seemed to be malfunctioning (we never got a ball to play and there was no one upstairs to complain to). There was also 2 skee ball machines and a fun house mirror. The ceiling has a cool neon light mural. Games were anywhere between 50 cents to $2 to play. There is a 3rd floor of some balcony where smoking was allowed, but we did not go see it. Overall, it was fun atmosphere, family friendly enough in the day time to bring out of town vistors, and the food seemed authentic and definitely was appetizing. Positive was the chopped steak sandwich, the bread was fresh and steak was delicious. The shrimp appetizer was very good. The negatives: we were seated in a very uncomfortable end of the bar where chairs were same height as the table top, not sure who came up with this genius idea; we ordered Steakhouse burger, fried shrimp for app and wood fired steak sandwich. We waited for almost 15 minutes for food and at the end the burger came out cold, cheese was already solid, the meat was barely warm so not sure how long it’s been sitting on the station. The burger was underwhelming, totally not worth the price and the bacon was half cooked. I think the main reason we came there was because reviews were high and highly praised their food, I feel like it is an average place and no way as good as these people were giving it. Just my two cents, we never thought we’re were taken care in timely manner by our bartender, maybe that’s why he left our food sit so long or maybe because we didn’t order alcohol?.. who knows.
