My family was there to celebrate my nephew's birthday and they all had great things to say as well. This was around lunch time and when we arrived we were greeted and told how the ordering process works. We sat down with our menus to decide what to order then went back to order up front. The young man took time to explain the different heat levels and was patient as we gave him all of our orders. We didn't wait long for our food. Another thing I must highlight is that it was very clean. The tables were clean, silverware clean, and the bathroom was also clean. I also enjoyed the music and the whole vibe. Kudos to the manager on shift also because she truly cares not only for customers but for the employees as well and NashBird is blessed to have her. I only wish I would've gotten her name. The food has lids halfway covering it making it inconvenient to dish out and the tongs kept falling in the pans with the food. I was constantly shooing flies the ENTIRE time I was attempting to eat so since there is no traditional cover over most of the food it’s probably why they keep the lids on. It was wonderful taste of south east Asia a loa restaurant that encapsulates the herbs to their fullest extent. A haven for those who love finger foods as it appears the whole menu can be eaten with ones hands. Although it was an empty restaurant i could tell their dedication to fantastic service. I was personally served by Jo and she gave a fantastic service and a wonderful tour of the menu. There were so many fantastic options but i chose the Beef Jerky, Fried Chicken, and the Rice Salad. The Beef Jerky was my personal favorite but the other two were great as well. The fried chicken were wings and drumlets that had an amazing crisp and herby flavor that reminded me much of a karage style fried chicken. Unfortunately the decor did not catch my grace and there was a constant beeping from a timer going off so unfortunately i had to dock from the atmosphere but overall Ma Der Lao was incredible and i would come back any day of the week. From the time we entered the restaurant we were greeted and seated pretty quickly and that's because of the time of day. What we were told is this place can get very busy so we were fortunate to catch this place just a little bit after lunch time. The waitress that we had was so professional. I mean just outstanding. Her name was Katie (I need my wife to help me remember) Anyways, Katir had a whole suggestion for us on the menu and it was spot on. I felt like we were at a five-star restaurant with a bar vibe. So we ordered the beef jerky, fried chicken wings, crispy rice salad and what was the name of that other stuff? It was called "hot spicy car alarm fire (just playing) sauce". All the food that we ordered by the suggestion of our waitress Katie was very good. Eating with our hands the sticky rice, beef jerky and sauce was very good as well. Everything was very good. It was all good. We enjoyed our lunch because of the customer service and the quality of the food because and obviously my wife, we always have a great time eating together. It was just a really good time but I think it really had to do with the timing because if they were really busy then I think that it just would have been super loud and I could see why. The cooks here are said to continue the traditional cooking of the owners mother. If you haven't tried Laoacian food, don't sleep on this place. Wake up to go experience the fun of citrus flavos, herbs, and other fragrances that will calm the soul. I would have taken closer pictures of the menu, but everyone else beat me to it. Now the parking lot was Completely empty and they was only 1 person inside but I waited almost 45 minutes for my food before going inside to see how much longer it would be. Well to my surprise the food had been ready and was just sitting on the counter. Made a mobile order in the app and when picking it up, was rudely told by a Hispanic lady over the speaker that it had already been picked up. Was told that the other person confirmed this order and showed a picture (doubtful of this because each time I pick up an order they never ask to see a confirmation) even though I also had the actual order information (and it was my order??). Was continuously berated and repeatedly told “We will not be remaking this order.” like I was a child even though through this interaction, I tried remaining respectful and even asked if there had been multiple orders with the same name or I could also show them my confirmation. I drive all the way back to the store and let the mgr know what happened and nicely requested to just refund the whole meal. She told me no and walked away with an attitude then came back after talking crap about me with other coworkers and asked do I have my debit card. I give her the card and she refunds it and says my apologies with an attitude. The worst experience I will never eat here again. They were very unprofessional and messed up more than once with just one person. I can only imagine how many others got their terrible service. I asked for the corporate number and the manager lied an said it’s on the receipt smh.

A lovely friend and I finally squeezed in a day/time together and just so happened to discover this decent eatery! I arrived around 6:20pm and though the host sat me, I decided to take a stroll around the “neighborhood” since my date hadn’t arrived yet. I walked around their back-side patio which was fully equipped with artificial turf, jumbo Jenga, plenty of seating picnic tables and had a huge projector screen for any prime-time game. I continued the walk and wrapped around the block to notice that the row of restaurants/bars were all home-themed. It was very college-like. I landed back in my seat and about 5mins later my friend arrived. We sat at the first two-top high-table near the bar close to the entrance. There were about 2 servers, a host and 2 bartenders to accompany the small crowd. We had a young man as a server and her treated us well. Neither of us had eaten there before so he provided us with a few recommendations but ultimately said, “ya can’t go wrong.” And he was right! We ordered the Crispy Chicken Sliders, Salt & Pepper Fries, Mango Thai Chili and the BBQ Honey Red Curry, both boneless (her suggestion). We chatted for what only seemed like a few minutes before our food arrived. Not going to lie, the appearance of the food wasn’t mind-blowingly irresistible but it’s not the looks that matters most. Normally I stay away from boneless wings because you don’t know how thick the breading will be and the breading-to-sauce ratio is often never quite balanced but I was incredibly impressed at how juicy and proportionate the wings were! They each were a mouthful and tasted wonderfully. Even though they were both great, I think the Mango Chili may have won over the BBQ Curry. The sliders were about what you’d expect, a solid entrée but the bread was the best feature. The fries were as expected as well, very Buffalo Wild Wing -esque (with ranch). Overall, I spent $40 for two and still left with food in-hand, WELL worth it. We stuck around to watch the ending of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals (Celtics vs Knicks) but really I was too stuffed to do much else. The backside patio is a vibe. It has covered seating, plenty of space and is very pet & child friendly. Establishments like this prove that you don’t have to spend much to eat good and have a good time.

The 4.8 rating and being a local place were the reasons. They did not disappoint! My wife and I shared a basket of wings, slaw, and okra.
