My husband had the Friday fish fry - it wasn’t the traditional Wisconsin fish fry (cod and hash brown side) - it was sturgeon and seasoned fries. He said it was good - and the seasoned fries were delicious. Street parking was tricky to find - fun area, lots of places, fun to walk around after and one street away from the capitol building - beautiful at night!

I am not sure what’s happened to the place but unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing, especially with family visiting from abroad. Sadly, despite the great service, we won’t be returning. We went on the weekend and brunch menu was in effect, so I tried the breakfast burrito. It was delicious with just the right amount of cheese topping. I did think halfway thru that maybe having the cheese topping dip versus smothered would make it easier to eat it as a handheld, but was great regardless. Made reservations in advance which is a must and highly recommended. The location and especially the gorgeous view of this place is what attracts so many people here . Combined with the excellent tapas styled food it’s a worthy destination. As opposed to the previous time I was here it was less loud and noisy which I appreciated . We were greeted and taken to our table . Service was good and our server explained the menu and concept . Cocktails are extraordinarily good . So good you cannot just have one . We got the green goddess with gin which was refreshing and the smoked J Henry old fashioned which is out of this world . Expensive cocktails , but so good . The dishes we decided on were four to go around and share . Salad green with apples and grapes topped with prosciutto and a light vinaigrette that tied it all together . Very light and a good start . Roasted beets were well prepared and goat cheese on the side also nicely balanced and light . The pistachio& pea risotto although it looked heavy was not as rich as one would expect but had the right amount of ingredients to not make it too heavy . Really enjoyed this . Finally the chicken thigh kebabs with smashed fingerling potatoes and an avocado thick purée sauce was a good dish . Overall the food met our expectations and the menu has great potential for tasting many different style of cooking and cuisines. Service was good but you can’t help noticing that they are slightly understaffed . Perhaps it’s the time of year where it’s hard to get more people in to help . Despite this our server did a good job . I will come back again for another visit later in the fall / winter

Myself and two other friends went to this bar around 8:30pm on a Saturday and ended up staying for a few hours! The atmosphere was nice, people were there to talk and have some great drinks. The music was great, mostly classics were played until about 10:30, then it was current music. We ended up ordering the $4 old fashion, which was very reasonable. We also ordered the passion fruit, LAX, Flirtini, pomegranate and razzberry martinis. All were pretty good, especially the passion fruit one. I wouldn't recommend the banana martini, it was overpowering. There was an upstairs dance floor, which I was looking forward to. Unfortunately they said its only open on Thursdays, which was a little bummer. I would recommend going here for sure. It is our new favorite bar.

I loved that it wasn’t on the main college strip and was in a bit of a quieter area. The atmosphere is perfect. It had a very Gatsby vibe. We went for brunch with a last minute change in numbers and the servers were very accommodating. Great atmosphere, feels very high-end. Bathroom and bars had almost no wait time. Customer service was great, especially the bartender lady with glasses that ran the coat check and bar when we came in. She was outstanding. I even made the point to walk from VIP to general admission bar for most of my drinks so that I can get service from her. All the patrons we interacted with were respectful and fun to be around. The employees and manager at this location need to stop and take a good long look at what exactly is going wrong there with their food safety and business practices. I am 100% fed up with nearly every restaurant in Madison we order from not preparing food in a proper, neat, or food safe manner, nor aligned with the customers' orders. The bar has been set so absolutely low for food service quality and professionalism in this city that said bar has long ago been buried underground. And to note- I am physically disabled, unable to get up and leave my house whenever I want; I rely heavily on restaurants and food delivery services for my and my children's literal survival. We sampled a white from Greece which was earthy & delicious. We each had an orange wine to try, one from Spain & the other from the US. Neither of them were something we favored. We had 150 people at the East side location (Eagan Rd). Seth made it super easy for us by taking care of tables/ chairs, bar/ drinks, setup/ take down of tables/ chairs, we did our own decoration of led lite Bobo balloons, catered in Hyvee, and they had a full staff to attend to our guests. They took off so much pressure, coordination, and prep work for us which let us just focus on other things. Two things surprised us the most! 1) how affordable XGolf was as in the wedding industry everything is over priced and 2) how much our group made great use of all simulators. We had one simulator to play competitions on (longest drive, closest to pin and longest putt) and they also have darts and bags accessible for use. Our guest feedback was 5 STAR; raved about Hyvee food as we did a mix of food bars (taco bar, sushi bar, pasta bar, etc), people tried golf for first time and had fun, competitions were a hit, and we were able to give an alternative to a traditional wedding reception.
