For the mains I went for the margarita pizza (back to basics) with a side order of fries. The chocolate fudge cake was loverly aswell! Regarding the environment I always feel very welcomed and adequately catered for. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is never over crowded or to loud and always warm and homely and not overly expensive! My only (really small) gripe is the place was a bit too warm, but I suppose that comes with the low ceilings and heavy duty ovens in the semi open kitchen. We'd definitely go back.

It’s easy to park with a large multi storey very close by but we managed to park for free on the street. It’s feels large inside when you walk in and has great views over the rivers Hull and Humber. Tables are well spaced. The serving staff were all friendly and helpful. We went for pizza so this narrowed down the menu for us to chose from. We ordered the antipasto board to start with which had a good selection of meats with bread. It took a while to decide what pizza to order (they have numbers rather than names) but we got there in the end. They have a wood fired oven so we’re looking forward to some crispy bases on the pizzas. We thought the topping were very good but the pizza bases were good rather than great as they weren’t as crispy as we had hoped. We still enjoyed them! We were quite full so didn’t have a dessert. Overall we thought £62 for the 2 of us for a beer, coke, shared starter and 2 pizzas was on the high side so not sure we will be back regularly.

Even had water and pretzels brought to us and refilled with no prompt during visit and that was with a staff changeover. I'm really not much of a cocktail person but the three I had were delicious. Whoever is on bar and/or designing the drinks knows what they are doing. They are spenny; but it's a very rare occasion where the drink and service justifies the price. Hilarious menu; several audible guffaws so I apologise for ruining the otherwise rustic yet charming atmosphere. Can't comment on the food though the menu looks good and I heard no complaints from tables that were. Love the armchairs, but please water your Yucca. If you want warming up have yourself a Penicillin because that stuff could cure the plague.

We started with pate and fruit bread, which was excellent and I have to admit I have never had fruit bread with pate before and it worked so well. The side salad with a few pickles added that little bit extra. For the main course two of us shared a Sunday roast platter and it was superb. Beef, pork and chicken with plenty of veg and fantastic gravy. We also ordered the cauliflower and leek cheese. This was also bang on. The whole meal was excellent and the staff were a credit to themselves and the employer. We left very happy and very full. No room for desert, but we were told by the couple on the table next to ours that the apple crumble was delicious.

The service was excellent and our waitress was pleasant and cheerful which added to the lovely atmosphere and surrounding. Our meals were superb, we had the roast beef and also a chicken roast dinner. We had dessert too, I had the apple crumble, my wife had the coconut panacotta and my friend had the sticky toffee pudding. They were all lovely and having had a lovely main meal the desserts finished the whole meal off. I recommend you definitely book for a table as it's so popular, but it's worth the experience as the quality of the service and food is exceptional. The staff took the time to talk me through some of the things on offer and they are willing to go the extra mile to help customers feel comfortable.
