Located in Hull, East Yorkshire, The Deep is a stunning aquarium that boasts a diverse collection of marine life. Its modern architecture at Sammy's Point where the Humber Estuary and River Hull meet makes it an impressive sight. Visitors can explore numerous aquariums and enjoy interactive exhibits, audio-visual presentations, and feeding displays by divers.
What an amazing experience!! It exceeded all my expectations; the history, the animals, and the knowledge of everything that existed before humans is truly remarkable. The layout is excellent, ensuring that it doesn't feel crowded or overwhelming in any one area. They have made great provisions for families and those with disabilities, including lifts at all the main routes. There are plenty of small seating areas where you can take a break and let the kids enjoy a snack or drink from your backpack before continuing your adventure through the depths. There are numerous opportunities to interact with the staff, who share fascinating stories about the animals or engage in fun games that help you learn more. You’ll find plenty of restrooms nearby, so you won’t have to trek far to find one. Your tickets are valid for free return visits within the year of purchase. The food at the cafe was fantastic!! The steak pie was out of this world! It truly was a wonderful day out.

I loved it here! They had so much too offer other than fish ranging from different amphibians and a section dedicated to penguins. They had some many different kinds of marine animals like sharks, jelly fish, fish, and clams. I came here with my little sister and she loved being able to see penguins up so close. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to come again.
Connor C — Google review
Brilliant day out for all. We've been going for 13 years since our daughter was 18 months and even now as a teenager she loves it. Animals and information amazing, the café is superb and good value plus the price of a ticket includes as many return trips as you can make in a year. Simply the best!
Simon R — Google review
This place is truly fantastic. Quite pricey for tickets initially but when you factor in that they can be used for a whole year, it means it's amazing value. A great mix of history, geography, geology and biology that would get the most disinterested person interested. So many different animals can be seen and it is obvious that they are all extremely well looked after. The gift shop is very well priced with lovely friendly staff. Would give this place a 100% approval rating!
John K — Google review
Great afternoon, no queues, booked a 1pm slot. Great exhibits, really enjoyed seeing the themed areas. Food & drink averagely priced & plenty of choice. Parked in overflow car park, £4.50 on top of ticket price.
Deborah S — Google review
We had a fantastic time at the deep. Our two kids loved it. It was so good we made use of the yearly pass tickets and went back the following morning. I would like to specially thank Mia who sat and talked our two kids for ages. Telling them all about the fish in the shallow reef tank. You really made the day memorable for them. Thank you so much.
Jake — Google review
Flawless aquarium, provides great info on the evolution of marine life. Also great views of the Humber. Best part is the annual pass so you can visit at anytime for a year. Great gift shop as well (I particularly enjoyed the tracker bracelets.) Will definitely be visiting again.
Jamie W — Google review
Decent aquarium attraction, great that you can visit for a year for free though unfortunately we aren’t local enough to take advantage. Disabled access is superb & it’s also a bonus that parking is free for blue badge holders.

Hull Waterside & Marina

Marina
Hull Waterside & Marina, located in Kingston Upon Hull, England, UK, has been a popular marina for pleasure boats since the 1980s. Situated on the site of the former Railway and Humber Docks, it offers just under 300 berths with one allocated to the museum ship, the Spurn Lightship. The area around Hull Marina is vibrant with numerous cafes, pubs and bars.
Today was the perfect day for exploring the Marina and waterfront; it was relatively warm, barely a breeze and no rain! It’s a while since I’ve been down there so it was lovely to just stroll around looking at boats on the Marina and reading the memorials. Well worth a visit! Edit: I often go into Hull to walk and explore and the Marina and Waterfront are great areas for this. If you’ve never ventured beyond the city centre and shops go down to the Humber-head for The Deep and then just explore. Depending on your route most of it is level and good surfaces. I’ll add more pictures to tempt you to visit!

Khanz — Google review
No complaints. Nice enough marina. Note you can only lock through 3 hours before or after high tide.
Tom S — Google review
Although there was some building work making it a bit hard to reach here, once you get here, you are rewarded with a nice marina and riverside with paths you can explore.
Karen B — Google review
Stopped over here a few times now. Staff are really nice. Facilities for boaters are great. The surrounding pubs and restaurants are great too. A fab marina to visit.
Cheddargav — Google review
Lovely riverside walk, great for dogs (non muddy wander) & kids scooting/cycling. Absolutely glorious today (New Year's Day), & usually lots of nice places open to grab a snack, gifts or meal. Loads of free parking in surrounding streets. Can visit The Deep too!
Kitegirluk — Google review
The beauty of the surroundings was truly awe-inspiring. The peaceful and quiet atmosphere made it the perfect spot for relaxation, especially during summer. Unfortunately, during my visit, the weather was quite chilly, and there was not much activity going on around. Nonetheless, the place still holds its charm and remains an ideal destination for those seeking a serene environment.
Sandra C — Google review
Nice place to walk around and relax yourself. This area looks nice and clean. This area suits for chill out when it's a sunny day 😎 🌞. Moreover, there have a lot of statue and street art too.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Kingston upon Hull, Hull Minster stands as a testament to Gothic architecture and is recognized as England's largest parish church by floor area. Originally known as Holy Trinity Church, it was elevated to Minster status in 2017 due to its rich historical and cultural importance. Dating back to the early 14th century, this magnificent structure showcases exquisite features such as intricate stained glass windows, a remarkable organ—one of the largest in the country—and stunning vaulted ceilings.
I was in Hull completing the Mischief of Rats Sculpture Trail. Having walked into the city via the marina, I couldn't resist a look inside the beautiful Minster. The staff were so welcoming and answered all my questions. I also took the opportunity to have a cuppa and cake at the cafe. I got talking to some lovely ladies here, too. Fabulous facilities here, too. Very clean. This is definitely worth a visit, whether for a reflective moment, prayer, or just simply to admire the architecture and stained glass windows. It had such a lovely feel about it that on another occasion, I would really want to get to a service.

Didn't get chance to climb the tower but had a lovely quiche and wedges in the cafe! All staff seemed kind and knowledgeable, definitely worth a visit

Nice place with a local event going on whilst I was there. I enjoyed walking round.

Today we visited the Hull Minster and paid £7:50 to climb the bell tower. What a great experience. The escorted tour takes about 2 hours, the guide was friendly and very knowledgeable, both about the building and the history of Hull. The stairs are steep but if you are able I recommend you give it a go. Learning about the Bells, the clock mechanisms and the views are amazing too.

The Streetlife Museum in Hull is a captivating destination for transport enthusiasts. Situated in the Museum Quarter, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the evolution of transportation through six galleries showcasing bicycles, carriages, motorcars, railways, and street life in Northern England. Visitors can explore an array of displays including cycles, cars, horse-drawn carriages, trams, and a simulated 1940s street.
What an amazing place. So we'll designed and lots to see. Can't believe this place is free entry. Deffinatly worth a visit for young and old.
Richard L — Google review
Just like in my home city of Glasgow, museums in Hull are free. I'd so wanted to see their maritime museum, but it's closed for refurbishment, so I'll have to return in the spring. Anyway, there's more than enough to fill a couple of hours at the Streetlife museum. Lots of old transport to see, a nice recreated street scene from the 60's, plus a ride in a Royal Mail coach. Although I have a French (and Spanish) degree, I never knew that 'chauffeur' is the French word for stoker, as in the lackey who fed the fire in the steam-powered cars of the early 1800's. Every day is a learning day, even at 72!
Michael S — Google review
This is free to visit and part of the Hull Museum Quarter. There are several old shop interiors, which have been rescued from throughout the city and these have been recreated into a street scene complete with old trams along with exhibitions of other old transport types such as horse carriages and bicycles. Good for all ages.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Absolutely amazing place, very interactive and free to enter, made a donation of course 🚃

An absolutely brilliant day out looking around all the museums, the street life has a amazing collection and some very well designed scenes, well worth a visit #History #Hull #Daysout

Iv been taking my grandson to the museum to do the activity sessions in the holiday and he's been loving the crafting sessions that are on at present . The sessions are brilliant and the volunteers and staff have been wonderful and patient with him . He is very shy and nuero divergent so he has trouble interacting with people , they have adapted to his needs and he is always wanting to visit . Beautiful museum.. We love looking round all the displays. Very well presented with things to do to educate both young and old. Well done .

Hull New Theatre, dating back to 1939, is a prominent venue in Kingston Upon Hull, England. It hosts a diverse range of performances including musicals, opera, ballet, drama and children's shows. The theatre also features a cafe-bar for visitors to enjoy. In addition to the Hull New Theatre, there are two other theatres in the area - the Hull Truck Theatre and the historic Hull Old Theatre. The annual Christmas pantomime at Hull New Theatre is particularly renowned.
One of my favorite theatres to see shows. Amazing hot chocolate. Kind staff and roomy seats with lots of leg room. Tickets always well priced and a wide verity of shows on each month!
Cameron N — Google review
A gorgeous theatre! Sat in the front row (A4) and had the most wonderful view. Loved that they offered popcorn as a snack, not too expensive either! Though I would recommend bringing your own drinks to avoid spending too much. Will be visiting again in November and cannot wait!
Liv T — Google review
I have visited Hull New Theatre twice in the last couple of months to see In the Night Garden Live and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. I have visited many theatres over the years and this one is by far amongst the best and one of my favourites. The building is clean and comfortable. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. Bar prices are very reasonable and service is always fast and efficient. I would highly recommended everything about this theatre to anybody looking to see a show.
Sophie P — Google review
Absolutely Hilarious! I had the absolute best time watching The Book of Mormon in Hull. From start to finish, it was a non-stop rollercoaster of laughter, and I genuinely don’t think I stopped to breathe between the jokes! The humour is sharp, outrageous, and brilliantly executed, with just the right balance of satire and absurdity. The cast delivered phenomenal performances, with incredible comedic timing and energy that never dropped. The songs were ridiculously catchy, and the choreography added to the overall hilarity of the show. While the humour takes obvious digs at religion, it’s all done in such an over-the-top, clever way that you can’t help but laugh along. If you love musical theatre, dark humour, and a show that will have you belly laughing from start to finish, this is an absolute must-see. I would 100% watch it again – highly recommended!
Dazneyland — Google review
Excellent theatre. Spacious and comfortable seating. Plenty of space for long legs in the stall seats too which is a bonus as both myself and my husband are tall. First choice of theatre to go to in the area. Good bar and friendly staff too.
Helen D — Google review
Nice, decent sized venue. Saw the Book of Mormon there recently and had a great view of the show. Beware seats at the ends are directly touching the wall further back, which can make navigation difficult.
Michael A — Google review
Have been a number of times, staff are always friendly and helpful. Facilities are always clean.

Comfortable theatre, seats are not as cramped as other theatres we've visited. Visibility of stage was great & ticket prices fairly priced. Door staff were inconsistent on the policy of what they were letting people inside with.

The lady Sophie was lovely. We fully enjoyed the bottomless brunch. My only thing to say is more variety with food and drink. As I've been to other places that had more variety. The table was set up lovely. So thank you. We will be back.

The food was well presented and hot. According to the server I was the first he had served a Bacon and blue cheese burger to since they added it to their menu and was eager to hear my thoughts. Good mix of classic and modern music. When we were there, it was clean and well run.

I went in there last night [11th Oct] it was very busy. As the rugby finals was on. I finally got served. I purposely took out a £20 note and ordered my drinks. The barman served me with my drinks and gave me my change. I looked and was £10 short. I managed to get his attention and explained that I was £10 short. He grudgingly went back to the till and took out 5 x £1 coins and planted them in my hand and walk away. Came away rather annoyed.

The restaurant provides a luxurious dining experience with modern Indian cuisine, including dishes like tandoori lobster and lamb biryani. With its spacious and comfortable design, Tapasya is suitable for large parties and offers five menus to cater to different culinary preferences.
It was all genuinely Incredible. I went on a Monday, was a quiet day I liked it that way. I went alone and was well looked after. I thought portion size especially on the main was great. I had to take some home. I want to go back for sure. Definitely on the premium side. It's a fine dining experience but so worth it. High price but high quality.

First time visiting yesterday. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had the lunch menu which was delicious & was a great price. Cocktails were nice too. The restaurant is really nice.
Zoecarl2007 — Google review
Horrible experience. The waiter was extremely unfriendly, we were celebrating our father’s 70th birthday. The waiter continuously dismissed us, even for simple requests such as water for the table. We had to wait 20 minutes until they took our order. We addressed this with management who also didn’t acknowledge why this impacted our experience. Such a shame as I’ve lived in Hull my whole life, and this is by far the worst customer experience I have had in an establishment. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Gail W — Google review
We got Tapasya to cater a private party (75+) at the Humber St Gallery. Our guests absolutely loved the food! It was fresh, tasty and beautifully spiced catering for Gluten free and vegetarian options. No hesitation in recommending!

Delicious food. Great service. Waitress made sure to inform us of dishes that have nuts as one of us is allergic to nuts. A bit on the expensive side.
Marwah A — Google review
Exquisite food and vibrant atmosphere. The place boasts of Michelin 2020, and has a relatively small menu. It’s on the pricier side, but the quality of the food is good. I wanted to enjoy a seafood 🦞 main course as curry 🍛 but none of the seafood main-courses were curry. The laalmans was beautifully flavoured but the meat was dry and shredded. The Gilaafi kabab was brilliant though.
Amar A — Google review
A nice restaurant which offers Indian cuisine foods. It’s located in a prime area near port of Hull with a good outdoor arrangement. The entrance of the place overwhelmed me as there was a idol of Indian God. About food, it’s really amazing. Both quality & quantity is pretty good. Highly recommend if you are visiting Hull & want to taste Indian cuisine.

Very quiet and not much atmosphere when we went. That was until a bloke turned up with a speaker and insisted on everyone listening to his cheesy music whilst drinking there. We left soon after.
Alastair W — Google review
The food, brilliant, Sunday dinner was fabulous. Really one of the best Sunday dinners we’ve had, on par with some of the best restaurants in East Yorkshire. The service, though, on the other end of the spectrum, the blind leading the blind, 1 hour to eat on a Sunday afternoon that had 10 covers in (not at all busy) 3 waiters, all pleasant, but running around doing a lot of nothing. 10 minutes to get menus to our table, 20 minutes for drinks, an hour for food. I could see other tables with disgruntled faces, some would get food, but sides were at least 5 minutes after they got mains, we had to chase for drinks orders, chased for cutlery etc. I could see the volume of missed opportunities for them to get more revenue for drinks, but just didn’t capitalise on it, so it was lots of tables with people sat not doing much, which took the vibe away. The food absolutely made up for it though, however won’t rush back.
Tom K — Google review
Writing this 1hr 20 mins after sitting down as I’m so bored waiting for my Sunday dinner to arrive. The food is always great here but the service is unbearably slow. Lots of staff wondering around seemingly doing nothing. 20 mins+ just to get drinks. Don’t think we’ll bother again.
James R — Google review
Went for a meal here after hearing good things. Food was fantastic and the menu a great selection of dishes. I had duck carpaccio which was melt in the mouth, halibut which came with an amazing sauce and a chocolate torte which was rich (I don't normally have dessert but the quality of the first 2 courses convinced me). Price for 2 with 3 courses and a few drinks came to about £85 which was well worth it. The staff were friendly and offered good advice regarding menu and wine choices. Can't recommend highly enough and will definitely be returning.

I love Nibble! The best sandwiches and breakfasts! The food quality is amazing and the portion sizes are really good for the price! It can get busy, I often go on a Sat lunch and expect to have my name on the list for a table for a while. It's worth the wait though!

Nibble is so lovely. I went with my daughter and my baby boy who is still in a pram and I asked if they had room for a pram. They said about 15 minutes and we didn’t even end up waiting that long. I was then helped with getting my pram next to a table and felt really well looked after. Myself and my daughter both ordered sandwiches and they were delicious!! Good value and amazing customer service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for good food.

Not a clue how the inside looks as we sat outside. QR codes on each table make it easy to order without having to wait to be spotted by a staff member. Saying that- there was quite a few of them visible and available and extremely polite when/if anyone needed assistance so that’s a huge plus. Food was nice, maybe a tad pricey for breakfast place but very tasty

Love this place! It's popular for a reason. Great food, fast service and lovely staff who genuinely seem to enjoy their work. I generally enjoy a breakfast here when I see friends who bring their dog for a marina walk and being dog friendly, it never dissapoints. I also took a nosy at the nearby newer deli and takeaway cafe 'Next Door' by Nibble, and that too was busy and the deli food looked delicious. Hopefully they will never change their perfect customer focus and delicious menus - its so nice to find reliabilty these days.

St Stephen's Shopping Centre is a vibrant indoor shopping destination that showcases modern architecture and an impressive array of stores and cafes. With convenient parking options, visitors can easily spend hours exploring the diverse retail offerings. The centre features everything from popular high-street brands to unique boutiques, ensuring there's something for everyone. After indulging in some retail therapy, you can unwind at one of the many cafes or catch a movie at the on-site cinema.
Great shopping centre with a nice selection of stores for all needs. It’s clean, spacious, and easy to walk around. One big plus is the parking – you get 2 hours free at Tesco if you spend at least £5 there, which is super convenient. Definitely a good place for a quick shopping trip or a longer browse!
Paulina J — Google review
We made a huge mistake by coming to this place. We saw it was a shipping center, so it never occurred to us to check that the time limit you get "for free" after paying £5 at Tesco. (It doesn't matter that we had already spent money at the restaurant and stores we visited.) You're forced to do your shopping quickly. We saw there was a cinema and had plans for later. But oh surprise!!! It's two hours "free", but if you go over those two hours, even by 5 minutes, there's no way to pay for the excess and they slap you with a £70 fine. What a rookie mistake we made here. WE'RE NEVER COMING BACK!

Shopping center, food court and kids playing activity centre i.e. gravity, laser station. Parking which I would like to talk here is, within 30 mins is free n dont have to pay apart from that for two hrs, u simply have to buy £5 worth of items anything from Tesco Extra… and with ur receipt u get a code… which u have to validate from the Machine on the ground floor along with ur vehicle reg no.
Kamms S — Google review
It's at the heart of the city centre. The Train station and bus station just beside it. It's got most of the big stores all in one location. There's essentially nothing you need that you wont get there. It's got a big parking lot also You just have to get a parking code from the store you shop to verify your parking if staying more than 30 minutes
Yusuf ( — Google review
Good place for variety but..... Everything very expensive. Parked in Tesco's car park so was held hostage until I had spent over £5 in the store.... You can't just pay for parking. My local Tesco is 2 hours free parking so won't be coming back to st Stephen's shopping centre ever again

My wife and myself were in Hull for a couple of nights and we weren't expecting to go to the theatre. I'm so pleased we decided to go and see Mary and The Hyenas, a tremendous story about Mary Wollstonecraft a feminist pioneer. The Hull Truck Theatre is a brilliant building with an intimate theatre space. Staff were helpful and refreshments were enjoyable. We'll be back again and we can thoroughly recommend Hull Truck to all.

Excellent theatre situated in Central Hull. Friendly and helpful staff. Great selection of shows. Pictures shared are the view from row M situated on the last row, this row is bar stool height. Still very comfortable seats and a handy wall right behind the seats to put drinks.

An excellent local theatre, my family and I have seen numerous shows here over the years and they have all been absolutely fantastic. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is food available as well as drinks at the bar and a decent coffee. As its a smaller venue you are always sure of a good view regardless of your seating. Just all round great and can't fault it.

Not much here, went to soft play there. The car park is also stupidly tight, we have a 7 seat 4x4 and it was setting off ever sensor trying to get round, we had to really squeeze. Those who aren't confident drivers will really struggle. Probably why the car park was empty.

Update.17.05.25 There are quite a lot of empty shops now, it's definitely following a city wide trend and going down hill now more people are shopping online. 2021 ish Great array of shops ranging from Primark to top notch clothing . Gadget shop and all the things you expect from a shopping centre. Escalators, stairs and lifts ..some floors have exits to the connected multi storey car park at the back . Top floor of the car park has some good distance views . A lot of the clothes shops are out of the price range for me as it's all designer stuff.. but the others have some good bargains to be found. Some lovely food in some of the cafes and cake shops.

Sadly one of them shopping centres with more than half the shops closed.... Massive multi storey car park.... Had a whole floor to my self. Half the escalators don't work and the lift has a mind of it's own as to what floor it's taking you too. I want a telly that size tho

Such a shame about princess quay and how rundown the place is getting. I can remember going 15 years ago as young lad and it being packed with great shops. Unfortunately this isn't the only shopping centre I've been to that this is happening too. There won't be many left soon...
Patrick H — Google review
This location is simply stunning with its charming allure and splendid appearance. The street is lined with alluring shops and delectable restaurants that are sure to captivate your senses. The exterior of the building is what initially drew me in, and I eagerly ventured inside to explore further. Though I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, I was on a specific mission to locate The Perfume Shop, which proved to be quite elusive. Despite my search, I still highly recommend a visit to Princes Quay.

Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, England, is a renowned cultural destination that recently underwent a major renovation. The gallery houses an extensive collection of European artworks, including pieces by Frans Hals and David Hockney. Families can enjoy the Explore Art gallery on the ground floor, which features a dedicated play space and interactive activities for children. Additionally, visitors can explore contemporary works at the nearby Humber Street Gallery.
Beautiful museum in sunny Hull. Free of charge and no wardrobe or lockers. Nice collection of paintings, especially British artists. Nice exhibition about mermaids.
Carl P — Google review
Wonderfully curated gallery. Only downside was the calm (I think it was called, the upper gallery space) exhibition which had great potential, thwarted by the narrated mindful audio guides insisting that you take a seat when there wasn’t a seat to be found. That and the jet turbine effect noise from the inflatable installation, below the gallery, altogether counteracting the calm.
Matt W — Google review
This was on our to-visit list for our brief visit to Hull. I do find local art galleries interesting, especially as feature local artists and paintings, and this didn't disappoint. Lots of different styles and eras with a large ongoing exhibition of contemporary works. Don't miss the 'calm gallery' on the first floor. Contains a shop and cafe. Free to visit but donations appreciated.

A remarkable collection, beautifully curated. I loved Drapers, "Ulysses and the Sirens" and Fraser's "Blue Seascape". However, there are plenty of other fabulous works that it's easy to send a few hours there. The food in the cafe was excellent, I can't wait to return.

Visitors can also explore Hull's historic Old Town nearby, with its medieval layout and charming cobbled streets lined with some of the city's oldest pubs.
Great venue, seen many events over the years..typically comedy shows or musical performances like opera or classical renditions. A night out to see 7 Drunken Nights. Quick and easy entry with very helpful staff to point you in the right direction for your seat. Famous old building , plenty of leg room once you are seated. A great show telling the story of how The Dubliners were first formed and some of the great songs they sang. Great singers and musicians, the atmosphere was great.

I had a fantastic experience at Hull City Hall! I've attended several events there, including performances by Jimmy Carr, Paul Smith, and a Christmas concert. Most recently, I enjoyed a brilliant Classic Rock Concert on Friday. The venue is easy to navigate, and most seats offer a good view of the stage.

Been lucky enough to visit the City Hall on numerous occasions mostly for live music events. Every time the venue has been great with no issues at all. Like how the staff let you leave the venue in between bands to let you visit some of the local pubs. Most recently visited to see Shed Seven who were brilliant.
Craig G — Google review
Brilliant venue, the building is absolutely beautiful, warm, great bars and the staff lovely. The only downside was the front steps were littered and wet, we had walked past earlier and there was a group who clearly had drunk too much sat on the steps. They had obviously been moved however the steps could have done with a clean. However when we left I have to say the town was really quiet and felt relatively safe

Went to see The Drifters tonight Saturday 13th September. having a brilliant night stand by me came on so myself and my mother in law stood up to dance. A man behind us decided this was his opportunity to tap us on the shoulder and tell us to sit down. Not ask Tell. We carried on dancing, he then proceeded to punch me in my back (I am currently 20 weeks pregnant) he again told us to sit down as he had paid for his ticket and could not see we told him to get up and join us and dance but no instead he hurled abuse at us calling us selfish. (My mum had bought me tickets to see the drifters with her for my birthday. unfortunately my mum could not make it as she has terminal cancer and is currently in hospital.) my mother in law rightly went and told a security guard who advised us we could dance if we wanted to. We then advised them of the assault on myself and the abuse, said man was kicked out but not before he caused a scene, denying any wrong doing even after people in front of us and behind us advised the hull city hall team that he had been abusive. All of the staff where absolutely brilliant making sure I was ok bringing coffee and water, we also got moved to the balconys so we could enjoy the rest of the show. Well done all staff and thank you for everything. I so wanted to go home but you all made the rest of my evening so special.
Emski — Google review
Bootleg Beatles excellent, good atmosphere, really enjoyed the show. Cirqui de Celine wasn't as good, not impressed with the sound, couldn't tell what the singer was singing. The cirqui part in the advertising was a reason for booking tickets, this was a big letdown, not really cirqui just a bit of "dancing". All in all a mixed weekend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for their special Valentine’s set menu, and it was a truly delightful experience. Each course was delicious. We had calamari and prawns to start, gnocchi with seabass for me and for my wife the lobster ravioli. My son loves the fudge cake and ice cream. The staffs were attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Absolutely beautiful food and a very warm welcome from the young man at the door. The food was served with barely any waiting time and tasted very very. It was incredibly well presented. A huge thank you as well as due to a complete mistake with a voucher which was totally my fault, a bit was knocked off the bill. I'll never forget that as it was incredibly kind.

I am disappointed with my delivery order. The portion has been halved compared to what it was before. The whole salad is mixed - few times ago be nicely served. No bread and Parmesan which was always included with the order. The amount of chicken is negligible. The price does not correspond to the portion and quality. I paid £18 (with delivery) Disgrace…

Popped in today with my partner for his birthday meal...everything was spot on to start with. Greeted on time and seated. Order taking within minutes and our starter came within 20 mins of ordering. We was very satisfied. But....we was then waiting 50mins for our main to arrive. Unfortunately the chef had all his timings wrong. We got up to go and pay for our drinks and starter just as our main was been served. Upon paying Callum the staff member could see our distress and that we was rather unhappy with the service we received. He was very quick to rectify this and gave us discount on our meal. To which we was very grateful for. Callum made this experience go from bad....to good. As he gave great customer service and couldn't apologise enough as he had seen we had been waiting a while. It was just a shame the timings were all wrong this day for the cheft unfortunately.

Possibly the best lunch I have had for £4.99. I wasn’t expecting much from a bit of fish in a bun but this may be the best battered fish I have had. The batter was so light, almost like tempura. The fish tasted very fresh and was cooked to order. The sun was out so sat at there seating area in front. They clearly genuinely care about their produce and care about their customers. Next time I’m in Hull I will certainly be back. Thank you 😊

Oh, me, oh my... You don't know what you're missing of you over look that place. That's all I can say!!!! I mean.... For myself, it's one of the top fish and chips places in Hull, and not one person has said different that has come with me, though they didn't quite expect to enjoy it at times. The best part?! It's affordable. Pictures are of the fish special, and sausage special. We ate upstairs, sat down, in absolute comfort with no pretense, and chip spice!! I kinda feel I should keep this place to myself.... But honestly. They deserve the praise!!!

The golden fry is my go-to fish and chip shop in the Hull city centre. The service has always been very quick. The staff are nice and friendly and the quality of the fish and chips is excellent. The patties, a dish unique to the hull area are particularly good. There is a really nice seating area upstairs.

Our first experience at GoldenFry was awesome! We tried the fish & chips based on a review we read after the location came up as one of the places for fish & chips close by. Their mushroom & onion gravy was so tasty. The fish was fresh and lightly crispy battered. Very friendly service. Thank you!
Cheryl B — Google review
We asked a local where we could get some chips and were directed here. The advice was spot on as this was up with the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. The fish was moist and tasty, the batter light and crispy and the chips perfectly cooked. We also got to experience the Hull 'chip spice'. It was very reasonably priced and the service was excellent.
Deborah B — Google review
We were recommended to visit The Golden Fry for fish and chips so we decided to give it a try because we had no idea if any were better or worse so a recommendation meant it was already ahead of the ones untried by others. We were not disappointed!! The fish and chips were excellent. We used the restaurant upstairs and the service was perfect and very friendly. The food was great (haddock and chips for each of us with drinks). The total bill was about £20 so very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place and I have no doubt we will be back.

Arriving at the restaurant we were treated by staff straight away. Payment made and we was sent downstairs to the restaurant. There was no queue (easter Sunday 4pm) we were shown straight to our table, explained how the restaurant worked and left to our own devices. There was so much choice, from English food, Chinese, Indian, sushi, Italian. Lots of choice for dessert too. Once plates were finished with, they were taken by the staff immediately. Fresh cutlery was left at the table if you needed them again for another plate of food. There was no limit to the amount of times we could go up and get another plate of food (4 plates later, and feeling fat). Again no limit on dessert, and plenty of choice for everyone. There was no rush for us to leave the restaurant, and by 5, the restaurant was filling up. We were there around 2 hours in total. There was even a robotic machine that delivered drinks to tables. Overall we had a lovely time, and would return to the restaurant again.

Excellent food from a plethora of cuisines. Roast dinner, sushi, curry, salt and pepper chicken and the list goes on. Such a lovely range that you'll be spoilt for choice! I suggest you should pace yourself as they have a wastage charge (I think that pretty fair). Cocktails are sometimes 3 for the price of two and I think you can mix and match so that's a nice unique thing if you are on a group and want different drinks. There's also a robot that waits drinks, how amazing is that! I'll definitely return when I'm next in the area (next year). Thanks

It was simply phenomenal. We came in at around 2-3pm in a party of 5. The line was not long at all and it took us about 2 minutes to be sent into the main dining hall. The atmosphere I can only describe as on another level. Everything felt like I was sucked into China. Especially with one of those robot servers. Everything was lined with wood panelling, even on the stairs, and on the end wall it had a long screen that went across the entire width of the room. I got the Satay Chicken, Beef in Blackbean Sauce, Garlic Mushrooms and Yangzhou Fried Rice. The Garlic Mushrooms included the addition of Birds Eye Chilis which elevated the dish to a whole new dimension. Everything else was your bog standard versions of each dish but 100x better. For dessert, I had some Ice Cream with some weird green jelly cubes which I still don’t know what flavour it was, and about 3 different types of crepes. This was not before I had gotten an entire pint of Pepsi Max from the bar they had. After an hour of straight eating gourmet level buffet food, we had left and I ended up noticing something I hadn’t before. That being what appeared to be a giant Transformer. 5/5 Would go again

Absolutely loved my visit to Wings! It felt like a world tour on a plate—fresh, flavourful, and full of heart. The staff were so warm and welcoming, and every bite made me feel cared for. Can’t wait to go back!

Highly recommend 🌟 Wings is a popular all you can eat restaurant with a clean style and a solid option when choosing where to dine out. Great place to with any sized group. It is especially good with big groups as the diversity and quantity of food should be enough to satisfy everyone. Price: Not too expensive but can be dependant on your budget. Important things to consider: Drinks are not unlimited, they must be bought seperately. If you are with a group and haven't booked a table, you may be waiting for 30-40 minutes normally on an evening. Parking isn't in the immediate area. Closest recommended parking would be St Steven's car park (paid parking).

Good selection of food, loved the variety of desserts. My only complaint is as someone who struggles with sensory issues I would've liked there to be less veg to fill up dishes. Felt like every dish had peas, carrots, sweetcorn or onions in. So I struggled a little bit and know that I couldn't bring my kids for the same reason but the overall experience was a pleasant one.
Nat — Google review
Very disappointing, especially since I was excited. Most seafood was soggy and overly salty. Don’t get me started with the fruit, it tasted as if it had been sitting in its juices for hours, had to spit out most of it. Food is either bland or too salty, my stomach was very upset after finished eating. Staff told me about their food wasting policy, which would’ve been fine if the food was edible. Only decent part was the dessert. I liked the Ice cream but scooper was soaking in mucky cloudy water for lord knows how long! Also, the staff looked unbelievably unhappy, never smiled. Asked for a glass of water and was given lukewarm water and a frown, it was like I was asking for too much! Staff were helpful at first, but it was like they were watching you, felt unbelievably uncomfortable. I don’t usually write a review but after spending almost £60 I would’ve expected better service and food. I would avoid this place, could get better from a local takeaway.

I love coming back to the UK and eating at McCoys - the food is always superb, with lots of variety to choose from and great portion sizes. I think it's really good value for money, and the staff are very friendly too. I always look forward to my annual trip here - thank you for the lovely lunches!

I had a phenomenal experience here last week! Popped in for brunch on a Sunday and the service was truly amazing. A lovely guy called Alfie looked after us. I was enquiring about any vegan options and Alfie was so patient and kind, he went out of his way to arrange for the vegetarian breakfast to be made vegan. I asked if it was possible to turn the music down upstairs as I have hearing loss and expected it to be a bit of a hassle, Alfie was an angel and acted like it was no big deal at all and very quickly resolved this. Alfie was just the most friendly, sweet and helpful guy, nothing was too much trouble for him to help us with, and he came across as a really genuine person that takes the time to treat all customers like they're friends, he created such a welcoming vibe and I felt really at ease even though I'm a bit awkward with my hearing! It was the best service I've had in a long time, and if Alfie isn't a manager he definitely deserves a raise, he made us want to come back again and again. The only slight suggestion I have, separate to anything practical, is for the menu to outline vegan options. I used to come in many years ago and they always had vegan options noted on the menu. There wasn't anything stated as vegan on the menu and the veggie breakfast had to be modified rather than being able to order a vegan breakfast. If I hadn't been planning to meet my friend there I might have been put off and assumed vegans weren't really provided for. It would go a long way just having a few options on the menu or noting what is vegan. Simple stuff like a vegan fry up (hash browns, beans, tomatoes, toast with vegan margarine, mushrooms, vegan sausages), avocado on toast, beans on toast. Regardless, we'd definitely be back as it was the best service we've had in Hull! Thanks Alfie. You're a legend.

Went here for a late lunch with the wife and friends. We were 6 and they accommodated us even with no reservation. You can order online thru a QR Code in the table, but still, the server was very kind and helpful, and assisted us. The ambience of the place was really astonishing. Food was amazing! Portions were massive, and the taste was spot on. Definitely worth every penny. Will be coming back for sure!

Nature & Parks
East Park, located in Kingston Upon Hull, England, is the city's largest green space spanning over 50 hectares. Established in 1887, it offers a variety of family-friendly attractions such as animal enclosures, a boating lake with pedalos, and a fun waterchute. The park hosts major events like the Lord Mayor's Parade and Hull Motor Show. Visitors can explore the adventure playground, visit the Animal Education Centre or enjoy afternoon tea at the Pavilion cafe.
What a fantastic park for a day out. Kids can fish in the lake, there's a mini zoo with a fantastic aviary, playing fields, playground ,toilets, café even pedalos and a water chute. Its a pity that the paddling pools are always closed.

We visit this park quite often. My kids love the variety of things to do here ☺️ Usually we take a ball and frisbee onto the big field or they'll bring their scooters to scoot round. The play park can get busy especially on nice days and school hols but when it's not too busy it's good for the kids to go on. We used to visit the animals when my kids were younger, they liked talking to the parrots. The splash park is a big hit with us , the kids love going in there! The only downside is there are no opening times anywhere for it. Online it says it's closed for the season but doesn't say when it reopens :( the cafe is good, has lots of vegan options although some are not always available. My hubby has got some great pics here of the wildlife, especially the squirrels 🐿️. His page is Ravenscape Photography 📸 found on Facebook and Instagram.

This is a great and wonderful place with lots of recreational, historic and fun filled activities for people of all ages including children and adults alike. Very nice large public park in east Hull, off Holderness Road. The library in the cafe was open and always open with lots of educational and resourceful books there. Friendly staff with conducive environments. There were beautiful water fountains in front and back of the cafe with reasonable priced wonderful food and drinks in the cafes; available public toilets facilities were also there. A very nice place of relaxation. There were lots of free events and activities to enjoy especially for kids ranging from playgrounds, gymnastics, relaxing areas, land events like football fields, and other sports, etc., together with the wonderful animal rescue area(zoos) where you can see parrots, wallaby, llama, goats, peacocks, guinea pigs and various other animals. There were also lots of paid events and activities which were readily available; though, little bits on high side for the price (£3 per token per person per ride). You can get discount if you buy 8 tokens for £21 or 12 tokens for £30. All tickets purchases from the office there. You can use those tokens for train rides, bouncing castles, swans pedalo’s rides, colourful beautiful carousel rides, etc. There is also live horse riding racing for £3 each ride and an amazing boat splashes rides for £2 each ride. The fishing lakes were also located in the arena for fishing activities if it interest you. There were lots of free crafting activities and animals education going on at the animal education centre located in the park between 10:30am to 2pm Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays this summer. Great experience. There were lots of free parking spaces in and around the park with most prominent via Woodford sports centre carpark. The playground has lots of most modern and fantastic play equipment for children which spread across children of all ages, eg. climbing frames, swings, etc. There were always something to do in the playground and environs. In fact, my kids loved the park. The train will take you round the park where you see lots of lovely scenery in the park. You can also walk around yourself and explore the entire area. The bridge viewing point and cave pathway were also amazing 🤩. You can walk your dogs around the park. Some places, you can free your dogs; some other places, you must put them on leashes and lastly, some restricted areas for dogs like playgrounds. There were wheelchair entrances and wheelchair accessibility areas all around the park including wheelchair accessible roundabouts, large seated swings, and accessible changing and toilet facilities for wheelchair users. There were several art instillations and gardens which were eye catching such Star Gardens, The Maze & Village Gardens, mini golf, etc., with other amazing wildlife. The squirrels were very tamed and friendly. They can feed out of your palm if you have some monkey nuts with you. The lake and aviary area were beautiful with lots of amazing and wonderful wetland birds.

The beautiful Queen's Gardens park opened in 1930 and covers just under 4 hectares / 10 acres. It was originally part of the Queen's Dock which was later filled in, giving rise to the garden. The park is located right in the heart of Kingston upon Hull and is a great place to take a break from sightseeing or simply enjoy the flowers and gardens.

Nice garden area in the centre of Hull. It's based on a old filled in dock and is used for a variety of events, music and food festivals. When not in use for a festival, it's a great place to chill out and enjoy the grass and scenery around during the summer

Queens garden's hull. A great place to have a picnic on the grass. Flavourz cafe is great for a 99 ice cream and sit in their deckchairs in the sunshine. There is usually some kind of event on. Today there is a German Oktoberfest beet festival. I will be sampling that shortly.

Lovely park with plenty places to sit and take in Hull’s atmosphere! Unfortunately the fountains were getting some maintenance when we visited which is great in the long run but it meant that we couldn’t see them in operation! It needs a bit of a clean too with lots of pigeon poo and feathers over the paths!

This a beautiful park in the centre of Hull City. It has evolved in recent years from investment into the City and is changing for the better. I love the flowers by the fountain in the shape of a ship's wheel that set the scene and you can sit and eat. Lots of events occur here too.

Lovely area and lots of events on. Well served by buses, car park nearby in Princes Quays and elsewhere n town. Nearby city shops and eateries.

Beautiful especially at the moment with the flowers blooming. The smell of the flowers is wonderful. Hard to believe it's in a city centre. For a quieter experience if you wonder down away from the fountain towards the statue the park is much more peaceful and you get a lovely view of the top of the city Hall. I visited on a very sunny day as my garden doesn't get any sun and I had a lovely few hours sunbathing and reading my book in a peaceful environment and then wondered 200 yrs or so into the city. Very convenient.

The Hull & East Riding Museum, located in the cobbled High Street of the Old Town, is a journey through 235 million years of history. It features an Iron Age village, Roman bathhouse with mosaics, Viking treasures and wooden warriors. The museum houses one of England's finest collections of Roman mosaics, including a mosaic floor from a Roman Villa found at Brantingham.
I really like how the museum is set out in time periods from pre-historic to medieval. The finds in the local area were eye opening and insightful. There's a lot of reading, if you're onto that. A bit too much for me. But plenty to look at, including stuff for the kids. Excellent considering it's free to enter.

Lovely big informative museum! Mammoth replica is a great attraction, as is all of the interactive ‘touch this’ and ‘smell this’ throughout. Wonderfully interesting and unique. I think you’d struggle to entertain children in ALL parts of the museum, but there isn’t a lack of interaction to keep them occupied. Great day out alongside the street life one. Wish they had specialist magnets with the name or something. Gift shop was a bit lacklustre, but i loved the mammoth stuff.

This is a huge museum in the Old Town of Hull and part of the Museum Quarter. Usually when I am doing the museums this would be my third stops and I would be flagging; today I made a point of this being first. The exhibition is extensive and chock full of artefacts from the local area. Lighting is dim but there is a footpath trail around the site. There are steps and changes of level throughout but there are lifts available. At the front of the museum there is a small gift shop. Entrance is free but donations are invited. Lots of interactive stuff so great for kids. PS It’s free!
Anne S — Google review
From the outside, you don't realise the size of this museum and it is quite a warren of different rooms. This forms part of the Hull museum quarter, with each one being free to visit (but donations appreciated) This is also the Museum of Archaeology so the rooms take you from the dinosaurs to the middle ages but all from a local perspective. I do really enjoy visiting local history museums and I did come away with a greater knowledge and understanding. I was particularly impressed with the Roman mosaics. Good for all age groups and there are lifts for pushchair/disability scooter users.

We specifically searched out free musuems and came across the Musuem Quarter in Hull. Parking was nearby, and wasn't extortionate (though the current road works meant we had to go over a bridge to back on ourselves, but I digress). From the moment we walked in, the staff were super friendly and welcoming - happy to allow us big kids to do the trail. Straight away, you walk through to a huge wooly mammoth and the exhibition is a walk through the beginning of time. Really great for kids, really interactive and lots to see. Staff are really friendly and helpful all the way through and a great trail to keep kids entertained! Makes for a great day out and theres a beauitful courtyard, so pack a picnic and enjoy these great (FREE!) museums for a great full day out!

Iv been taking my grandson to the museum to do the activity sessions in the holiday and he's been loving the exhibition that are on at present . The craft sessions are brilliant and the volunteers and staff have been wonderful and patient with him . He is very shy and nuero divergent so he has trouble interacting with people , they have adapted to his needs and he is always wanting to visit . Beautiful museum. Very well presented with things to do to educate both young and old. Well done. We love sitting in the gardens and having our lunch or snacks . Games have also been in the gardens through the school holidays too. Well done to all the museums.

Saw Coldplay on 19th August, who were great. Some stewards were friendly & helpful, others plain rude pointing you in the wrong directions. The East Stand was incredibly cramped, and unfortunately due to the colonnade, offered a restricted view of at least some part of the stage, no matter where you stood. For me, the B stage was mostly blocked. Considering the East Stand tickets were the same price as the pitch standing tickets, I wouldn't choose to be standing in there again.

The Lion & Key is a charming traditional pub nestled in the lively heart of Hull's Old Town. Adorned with beer mats on the ceiling, it exudes a casual and inviting ambiance. Renowned for its classic British cuisine, this establishment offers an array of delectable dishes, including the crowd-favorite Fish and Chips. The menu also features pies, Sunday roasts, and a wide selection of beers to complement your meal.
The people were incredibly kind and welcoming. It was a pleasant atmosphere. Tip- seniors over 65s get 20% discount, woweee! Definitely will return when in the area.

On a visit to this part of Yorkshire with the East Suffolk u3a, our local Hull tour guide recommended a visit here to sample 'The best fish and chips in town'. The pub, established in 1817, was very busy with the two barmaids handing out endless samples of beer to foreign tourists who couldn't make up their minds what to order. Eventually, haddock and chips order duly placed, I settled at the only free table in the place and the meal arrived amazingly quickly, along with tartare sauce and mayonnaise. The haddock was excellent, with lovely flakes of fish in a lovely light batter; the chips, to my taste, well underdone. More arrived when I mentioned the matter, but showed no improvement. No WiFi and, when I enquired, was told that 'we prefer chat in here'. To which I responded, 'difficult when you are on your own'. The pub has a lovely vibe about it so I felt very comfortable in it. But some fashion advice to one member of staff; don't wear a black thong under white linen trousers. Maybe it's my age.......

Absolutely fabulous nothing like pub grub it's just like mother used to make it. Okay it's a bit pricey compared with others but it's the ambience of the place. It appeared to be pensioners paradise with the 20% off everything, but then again it's those who seem to keep most places going, especially during the day. The staff were delightful despite their youthfulness. Top marks see you again very soon and thank you very much

This is a great pub, with friendly staff, quality beers and good food. It really lets itself down with an antiquated payment system where bills cannot be split part cash and part card. Also, this pub does not accept £50 notes - crazy when a meal for 4 with a few drinks is over £100 these days. We had no problem anywhere else in Old Town. Worst of all, none of these payment rules are visibly on show for customers to see and understand before placing their orders. As a result by default customers can legally settle their bill using legal tender - cash in any denomination - as happened to us - so by refusing our payment The Lion & Key went against laid down legislation. The law ensures that if you offer to fully pay off a debt in a form that is considered legal tender – and there is no contract specifying another form of payment – you cannot be sued for failing to pay.

Another of my absolute favourite pubs, extremely friendly staff, beautiful venue, food is out of this world, cooked fresh, very large portions, the beer is also incredible, i am a regular here and would reccomend to anyone

Fish and chips takeaway
Fish restaurant
During a recent weekend getaway in Hull, I had the pleasure of visiting East Park Chippy, a delightful spot that caters to gluten-free diners. I indulged in their gluten-free fish and chips, complemented by some crispy onion rings—a rare treat for those avoiding gluten! My husband opted for a hearty sausage supper and even ventured into trying a Pattie Bite, which was an exciting surprise. East Park Chippy comes highly recommended by locals who rave about its quality.
Great size portions. Food is very tasty, one of the best chippys I've ever had. Great thing that they offer gluten free option. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Totally recommend.

East Park Chippy is an incredible chippy, serving some fabulous food. The mushy peas were the best I’ve had in Hull—thick and subtle in flavour, how I like them. The haddock was something special; you could taste the freshness. The batter was light, crispy, and delicious. The chips were nice too, though for me, I’d have liked them a little thicker, but that’s just a personal preference. The shop was clean and tidy, and the staff were well-presented and appeared very happy. Cooking in: Beef Dripping Hygiene Rating: 5 Cash or Card Fish Reviewed: Haddock Reviewed by The Chippy Tour

People kept telling me to Visit this chip shop as they think it’s the best in Hull and the Patties are amazing. The shop is clean, although the ordering/waiting area is a little Small (if you get a couple of big people stood there it will be very tight) The staff were excellent, Friendly and very chatty. It’s always nice when you are served by a happy member of staff. The food I ordered a large fish and chips curry sauce, Pattie, chips and mushy peas and a Pattie. The fish was big. The batter was crispy and good. Sadly the skin of the fish was left on. Now I don’t like the skin on my fish so it was a little bit of a let down. I was not told about the skin and can’t Recall seeing any signs saying they leave the skin on. The chips were first class, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and not a sign of grease. The curry sauce was fruity and I really enjoyed dipping my chips into the sauce. The patties were out of this world!! Soft big and thick a meal in it’s self. The taste was fantastic. Big portions and great service, Just a shame about the fish which I binned because of the skin (so I did not get to really experience)

I heard so much about this place i decided to try. An extensive menu ,even gluten free, i decided on the large fish special, fish cooked to perfection, service second to none, would recommend this plaice (Fish Shop) to anyone ,you can takeaway or sit in ,I sat in and throughly enjoyed the experience, will definitely return.

Saw a food review of this place online. It didn’t disappoint! We went for the haddock and chips with their famous tatties and battered sausage. Served with curry sauce and gravy. As a Southerner, I had never had tatties before. They were unreal, they tasted like battered stuffing balls We were able to get a seat in the restaurant and served by the lovely Lou! She couldn’t do more to help us and gave us some tatties to take home and give the kids. If you’re up in Hull check it out! Great food and cheap 😊😊😊

Always enjoyed the food definitely one of the better chippy's this side of hull. I used the delivery service for the first time. Came within good timing sadly some of our order was missing. It's a busy shop so took about 5 mins to get through. Polite staff and handled really well. Although took longer for missing items then it did the actual order. Even though a part of the missing order was part of a meal only the actual item missing was replaced so rest of food was quite cold when it came to eating , and still missing an item off the special. Other then that we did enjoy the food.

Has to be the worst fish I’ve ever had it was paper thin and so dry not even the batter was eatable .

Cafe
Nestled in the heart of Hull Old Town, Ye Olde House Hull Old Town is a charming tavern that elevates traditional pub fare with a modern twist. This historic establishment, one of the oldest houses in the area, features a cozy downstairs bar offering an impressive selection of gin and local beers alongside reasonably priced wines. The intimate upstairs dining area retains its original character with just a handful of tables set within what were once bedrooms.
From entering this eatery it was evident from the delightful decor we had chosen well. I ordered the ham off the bone sandwich it white bloomer bread accompanied by salad and a portion of French fries along with an obligatory pint of Guinness. My partner opted for a pot of Yorkshire tea to go with her Brie and cranberry whole meal breaded sandwich also accompanied by salad. I’ve eaten in many food outlets within the hull city centre having worked there for over twenty five years and can honestly say if the quality and freshness along with pleasant staff and surroundings are upheld this establishment is well worth a visit, not only for the choice but the quality and pleasant atmosphere I would definitely be returning and cannot recommend it highly enough thanks to staff

Came here on the off chance with kids & grandparents early one Saturday evening. Ordered some food which was perfect for what we wanted (some pizza, sausage rolls & chips to share), all fresh & tasty & good drinks. The people working there are what made it - so friendly & they brought my children some chocolate after their meal, and later a lollipop each. Really thoughtful, we had a great evening, thank you!

We stopped by on a Friday evening and were served by a really friendly lady who said she had sausage rolls of different kinds. Proper home made artisan sausage rolls as it turned out...served with a small salad. Delicious!! Reasonably priced too.

A pub you can walk into and feel like a local right away. Adam and Bev are a duo unseen down scale lane. This bar is absolutely worth the visit, great food, great beer and fantastic company. It's honestly unmatched. 1st stop Ye Olde House.

Well my wife and I eat out a lot and we both loved it here. It's compact downstairs with a small bar that does serve a very decent range of drinks. Their wine is not expensive either. Now remember this is one of the oldest houses in Hull that's been converted into this fantastic pub restaurant. Upstairs is what would have been 2 bedrooms at the end of a sloping corridore which have less than 10 tables each. Toilets in the corridore which were spotless. The owner is a young chef that's worked with Heston Blumenthal and 1884 restaurant in Hull. Now this chef is unreal with his chef skills. The food was fantastic. Good selection on the menu and items not seen before by us. Brawn lollipops deep fried. Seriously tasty food. Great wine and cocktails. Highly recommended.

Fish and seafood restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Papa's Fish And Chips Bilton is a fish and chip shop that has received mixed reviews. While some found the food to be nice, others felt underwhelmed, considering it to be average and not award-winning. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing good service during events such as wedding celebrations. Customers have praised the personalized attention they received for their special occasions, with staff members going above and beyond to ensure everything was just right.
We recently hosted our wedding party at Papa's and are far beyond elated that we did. From initial request, no detail was too big or small. If we hadn't thought of something, Chloe and Rob suggested it and offered a solution. On the day itself, Sophie and Cameron looked after us from morning til evening, ensuring perfect running order and seamless service. They prepared the restaurant and tables as requested, setting all the details just right. On arrival, the guests were offered a comfy seat and drinks whilst waiting for us, the main couple. After settling in, we all ordered our food and drinks via table service - something requested in addition to the norm - and everyone was happy. The food was spectacularly fresh, as always, and exactly the quality and quantity we've become accustomed to from Papa's; they're not award-winning without reason! After the meal, a toasting drink was served to each guest and the mood calmed to allow for speeches, photos and cake. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended and we can truly thank the whole team for their effort to make the day special. Thank you all and endless recommendations to all readers to host events with Papa's!

Nice (but average) fish n chip shop. Hyped up BBC food reviews left me feeling underwhelmed. Friendly staff, always around to help when needed. The food is nice, personally I wouldn't say it was award winning, it tasted like any average fish n chip shop you would find in your town. The fish was well cooked, but a little hard towards the thin edges of the batter. Chips were very average and nothing to write home about. Curry and mushy peas were nice. Deserts weren't great. Our kids ice cream had no flavour and was crystallised/very icey. The ambience was non existent. This may be because there only two families having something to eat (including us), but I just felt like something was missing. I would give 3.5 stars but settled on 4 because of the friendliness of the staff.

Papas is a revolution in fish and chips. A British classic taken to modern realms. The Bilton restaurant is always clean, open, welcoming, and warm. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Sophie who was our amazing waitress! If you’re looking for the best of the best in the Fish and Chips industry, look no further.

Food was plentiful in supply. Definitely enough for me and I can eat lol. Quality was good and also ordered b+b and filter coffee. Everything cooked to order, so a short 7/8 minute wait was fine. Table service was by the lovely Sarah who couldn't be faulted at all. Cost £15.00 for huge portion of fish n chips with side, bread n butter and coffee. You can buy cheaper but the restaurant is nice and justified the charge.

I was here for my son and new son-in-laws wedding celebrations on the 5th November. What can I say .... exclusive use for us for the evening, the service was just perfect and they took time to listen to what was wanted. The tables were set just as they were asked for and even stored the cake until it was put out just before we got there. The table service given was just perfect (this is not something that is normally provided). Sophie and Cameron were happy to help in any way .. happy polite and just an absolute credit to the restaurant. Your manager should be very proud of what you all achieved on the day.. this includes the staff working in the kitchen .. the food was just lovely. If anyone is looking for somewhere for a small intimate place for a wedding celebration, then I can certainly recommend this place.

Absolutely fantastic. The menu had us in stitches. So original. Long car journey wanted food and this was the 1st place. So glad it was. Staff were amazing, food out of this world and a beautiful building to top it off. Very affordable and massive portions.

We had a lovely lunch here and the experience was brilliant to match. Sarah was an absolute star helping us today and we could not have asked for a better afternoon in Hull!

Just popped in with the wife for a fish n chip lunch. Well the medium fish is a monster size with plenty of thick cut chips. The good bit, not an ounce of grease or oil on my plate or food. Super crispy batter, tender fish nice & flakey red hot with a slice of buttered bread. There wasn't even a greasy smell to it either. Will be regulars here specially next week For the 1p meal deal !!! Fabulous. Oh we are in the sit down restaurant section which has nicely spaced tables, nice low key background music playing and really friendly staff. Take out is less than a fiver and we were under 8gbp each. Great selection of wines and beers too.
