Live music was top notch. The singer treated us to country classics and pop with a twist. He got us singing along and even came to tables to serenade the customers. Great atmosphere! I had a reservation booked but had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. The dining room was half empty! All other staff were just staring at us; this wasn’t very good to wait this long. Our orders were made and given to us within 45 minutes and for a table of 5 we wasn’t fussed about this. The food was great. The new steak rice bowl is what I had and I recommend it 100%! We finished 20 minutes later and then had our empty plates in-front of us for 45 minutes and our server was no where to be found. But our server did explain that on Tuesdays it can get busy as it’s chicken Tuesdays so she was rushing around. Our server was kind to remind us of the harvester app to which I had and managed to get a discount on a main meal which I was very grateful for. Overall the food was worth the hassle and I feel terrible for the servers who are rushing around which dampens the atmosphere and might leave some customers lost and impatient. The photos online did not reflect the reality of the room we were given. Upon arrival, we found dirty cups, no shower gel, and only one hand towel provided for a double room. The decoration was very poor, and the furniture was old, worn, and dirty. The design of the shower meant that after use, the entire bathroom became wet and slippery, adding further discomfort to our stay. However, the most alarming issue was the door: we were unable to unlock it from inside the room. We had to call reception to be let out. This was incredibly concerning, as it posed a serious safety risk in the event of a fire. While the staff were helpful and apologetic, it does not excuse such a dangerous fault. The food was really nice and tasty. The waiter was very polite and tried to help us when, we where unsure what kind of dessert we should order. He brought us a book from the kitchen to show us the desserts. The service was really good-no complaints at all. I didn't get my first (main) course until half an hour after I had walked in. I could have accepted this if it at least came with an apology, or preferably an explanation whilst ordering. The moules and cod were both unavailable which was a disappointment. 3 Rib-eye steaks were therefore ordered for adults and 2 sirloin for boys. It wasn't too busy when we arrived as there were plenty of empty seats. We were served quite promptly after being sat down and the starters didn't take very long to come out at all. I asked for no jalapeños on my nachos due to the spice, it came out with no jalapeños but instead they put chopped red chillis on them which are obviously even more spicy. So I had to remove those which was tedious but other than that they were nice. The mains were just ok for the most part. I ordered the surf and turf combo as seen in the photos (steak with the prawns on top). Mine was meant to come with skin on fries but it ended up having chunky chips (which I prefer much less the fries). I ordered my steak medium rare but it was cooked over medium. Hardly any pink in the middle at all. So overall not great. Once the mains had come the service dropped off quite a bit. It did get busier so I understand it will get harder for the serving staff but it took a long time for our plates to get cleared and to receive the menus again to order dessert. Even after the desserts, it took quite a while to obtain the bill to pay and leave. It cost us £145 for 4 adults and 2 kids. Everyone had starters and mains. Only a couple had desserts and there were 3 glasses of wine ordered too. Value for money wasn't terrible but I'd recommend visiting midweek and taking advantage of their lunch time/evening menu meal deals.

It's very rare to get that authentic gastropub vibe without feeling too forced, but Sir Henry's gets it spot on. What happened with the great atmospheric TGI’s of yesteryear? Going back either 10 or 15 years ago and you could never get to the bar, Now, if anything you can run round it with a clear path. We went to have iftar here and was extremely disappointed - wish I stayed at home and cooked instead. 1. Water and dates were put on our table without any communication- we initially thought this was complimentary to break our fast with as they didnt say anything. At the end, we see we were charged for the water. If this was the case, this should've been communicated which we then wouldn't have bought an additional drink. 2. Ordered a strawberry mojito - got a classic one instead. Sent it back and the waiter just added a huge amount of strawberry syrup on top which even after stirring just tasted like thick syrup mixed with water and undrinkable. 3. Ordered Bombay bombs as starters - received Bao Buns instead. As it was time to break fast, we let this be. The other starter we ordered was Tikka Sushi which was disgusting and just covered in an overwhelming amount of crispy onions. 4. Ordered the mixed grill - it didn't come yet they tried charging us for it. when we bought this to the waiters attention, there wasn't even any apology, just corrected it - shit service. 5. Ordered peshwari naan - received plain naan instead. 6. Mains we got sylheti lamb and butter chicken - by far the worst curries i've ever tasted. 7. The food was that bad that I heard a family sat beside us who were complaining of how 'disgusting' the food was. 8. After leaving this place, both me and my husband got a stomach ache from eating here. We didn't say anything at the time as it is ramadan and we wanted to just get out of there but as someone who was fasting all day, I didn't expect to go out for iftar and try filling myself up with water because the food was that bad. Don't believe the hype you see on social media - really not worth it. Food wise, nothing really to complain about. What I ordered tasted fine. Their menu however could do with a makeover. The waitress hurried over and I returned to our table and the meals I picked out under the lamps were (unsurprisingly) served to us. Warm, but not hot. The waitress attempted to apologise for the service but damage was already done. None of our empty glasses, starter bowls, cutlery or plates were cleared at any point. We stupidly ordered ice cream for our children and that took 15mins for 2 ice lollies and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. As we prepared to leave, we had to check through all our plates, bowls and glasses to make sure we weren't leaving any of our possessions. As we left we saw the table next to us was just as neglected of clearing. We were handed a bill totalling £190 for 4 adults and 3 children and it was, quite frankly, a complete waste of money. We always tip and always clean up after our children, but after the blatant discourtesy we were shown, we just weren't in the mood, we wanted out and won't be coming back.

Charging almost £5 for a canned drink is absolutely ridiculous. On top of that, the chips tasted like they had been reheated rather than freshly cooked and left a strong burnt oil taste in the mouth. Instead of nicely arranged lettuce, we got just a single cube, like it was a leftover scrap from chopping. It looked completely unappetizing. I sat at the middle table nearest the bar. The first question Dan asked had if I had any allergies, this was a nice touch. The part folded garlic bread was brought out first by Dan as requested, picture attached. The centre rectangle of this garlic bread was very soft and had a very pleasant flavour with the lovely chilli kick. The outer shell was not as soft but still good. When I was 3/4 of the way through the garlic bread, Dan came and asked me if my calzone could now be prepared. This was such a curtious and processional call as it meant my calzone was not sitting at my table getting cold 👍 whilst I was enjoying the garlic bread. I was extremely fortunate that day as the Chef "Bobby" himself brought over the Calzone Carne to my table, that he had made to by exacting request. The presentation was excellent. Even better was the overall taste and experience. The filling was plentiful and very spicy as requested and the dough cooked well but still retained the softness. This WAS undoubtedly the Best Calzone I have EVER had, Bravo. 10/10. I want to thank Dan for his attentiveness and Bobby for his explosion of flavour and spice, especially on my Calzone.
