Service was horrible. There were multiple service staff on site but they were not attentive or was not able action simple orders. Ordered 2 glasses of wine and it was not delivered till I asked. Ask for new bottle and again cap was mouldy. 3rd bottle was the same as well. Only highlight was the steak which was really well cooked. Definitely won’t be going back again.

In the past the food has been above average but on our last trip we found it cold, flavourless and poor quality. The place is worth a visit though, the view is stunning, there are lots of beautiful walks to it and the outside is dog friendly. I would just have a drink and avoid the food (although my wife was disappointed by her cocktail). The view and setting is doing a lot of the heavy lifting, if you’re after an average meal With stunning views this is the place for you, if you’re after a better quality meal stick to inside Conwy.

Haven’t yet been since they have been under new ownership and rebranded. We were very pleasantly surprised. We came at 7.30pm on a Friday night, it was relatively busy and we were attended to promptly. A young waiter who brought us to our table asked if we would like water for the table, I obviously said yes… However we weren’t made aware there would be a £4 charge for it, but I also could have asked, so not to worry. Our drinks order was taken quickly and as we’d already looked at the menu ahead of time we knew what we were having, so when they came back with the drinks we ordered. We went straight for mains, the Penne Genovese, garlic breads, chunky chips and a Picante Pizza. It arrived very quickly and boiling hot, we were impressed. The food was delicious and something different to what we were used to from an Italian restaurant. Their garlic bread was a little tough in the middle & the pasta sauce seemed to have some creaminess in there even though it was it wasn’t listed on the menu (with me trying to stick to a calorie deficit that’s probably just me nit picking) but it wasn’t enough to put us off our meal as it was delectable. We also had the tiramisu to share for dessert. Their drinks menu is vast and I was suprised to see they had Dirty Martinis and Picantes (spicy margaritas) as cocktails, which are made to perfection, as they are my favourite and I can never usually find them in establishments. We would recommend this restaurant for any type of occasion you have planned. The interior is lovely and the staff are very attentive and polite. Very refreshing.

I was eating with my partner and my parents this evening and we were looking forward to it. Upon arriving our table was not ready, which wasn't a problem as we enjoyed a drinks in the bar. We found it a little strange, as it felt like cotton wool in your mouth and did not fit the dishes served(maybe it was lacking a glaze on it). This will not stop me from eating here again. He changed his fish of the day menu to accommodate us instead of the extravagant cream sauce. It was very reasonable for the quality of the food and wine. The restaurant was busy and full so you definitely need to book in advance. We'd seen the menu in advance so knew there were good options for meat, fish and vegetarian eaters but there were extra fish options on the day which presumably varies depending on availability. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the owner was helpful with some particular requests our party had. As a bonus we parked right outside but there was also a car park across the road. We arrived at 6pm on a Thursday with no reservation. They were able to accommodate plus which was great. Service was fantastic, the staff are very attentive, saying that the place was empty when we arrived. Ribs for starters were amazing. Mains: beef curry and Thai sweet chilli chicken. Flavours were great in the chicken dish, curry was a little bland but ok. We enjoyed ourselves but we wouldn't return due to the prices and the mains being underwhelming. The menu read like a fine dining restaurant, but the attention to detail didn’t seem to be there. We were greeted by a polite waitress who seated us. It then seemed a while until we were offered drinks. We finally ordered drinks but we had been sat for 35 minutes until we received our first drinks. We then ordered our food. Upon asking the waitress about how best to order the food and whether we could order small plates as starters and large plates as mains, she was unsure and had to ask another member of staff. From how the menu was written this seemed like a pretty ordinary way to order but we wanted to make sure. We ordered a small plate each and a large plate each. The menu stated that large plates came with 2 sides but this wasn’t offered any additional sides. We ordered one side each but I got the feeling that the waitress was unaware that large plates were supposed to come with 2 sides, as we heard another waiter offer this to a nearby table. We both ordered scallops as a starter and asked if one could have lardons removed to make it pescatarian, to which the waitress said this was fine. She even read our order back to make sure she had it right. We waited another 25 minutes until we received our starters, making it an hour before we had any food in front of us. When the scallops arrived both dishes had lardons removed. When I made the waiter aware he seemed a bit flustered and was going to go back to the kitchen (without the dish) to see what went wrong. At this point we just wanted to eat and didn’t want to wait ages for it to be rectified, so we just let it be and said it’s ok. The scallops were lacklustre. They didn’t have much of a sear on them and overall seemed undercooked (one on my partners plate was verging on inedible). The peas were clearly of the freezer aisle variety. We then received our mains after what seemed like another longish wait afterwards. The pig cheeks were ok if not a little dry. The first thing we noticed about the prawns was that they were scorching hot, too hot to eat straight away, which meant they were a bit over cooked. They tasted a bit earthy which makes me think they weren’t deveined and the garlic was quite over powering. The menu described them coming with toasted focaccia but we received what resembled more like cheap garlic bread. We also ordered leek croquettes. These were ok, but a little bit heavy on the mustard. One concern as a food worker myself is that the menu didn’t state that they contained mustard which is a main group allergen. I know the menu states at the top to make aware of allergens as the kitchen can’t guarantee no nuts but I feel such a mustard heavy course should probably make some mention. The drinks were ok, the negroni actually particularly nice which was a good saving factor (even though when I ordered, the waiter asked if I wanted a small or a large which I have never been asked before. I then witnessed the confusion between the other waitresses/bar staff when he put the order in). The general feel was that the restaurant was either understaffed or that some of the waiting staff weren’t really trained as well as they could have been, which I believe comes from the top down and is no fault of the waiting staff themselves. They were really polite but there just seemed to be a bit of an air of confusion and didn’t give a feel of a well oiled machine. We decided not to have any desserts as it was getting a little late. 3 stars for service wasn’t for anything the staff did wrong. As mentioned I believe it is due to the restaurant manager/owner or whoever is responsible for training not being thorough enough. The food seemed to lack care/passion/attention to detail. Overall it wasn’t the experience we expected when we found the restaurant online.

We had high hopes,but left a bit disappointed. First off we did mention it being our anniversary when booking but were seated on a poor table and left looking at others sat at the nice tables. We found the food was lacking a bit in quality. The starters were the best part. I had the lamb Bon Bon’s, which I couldn’t fault. My partner had the goats cheese mousse, which was tasty bus a little bland. For main we both had the pork cassoulet, we both found the pork a little tough. The sauce with it tasted great but was a temperature that felt like it might have been microwaved. The brownie was quite poor, probably on the same level as the one I had at Wetherspoons, and the baked cheesecake was overcooked. We decided to finish with a cheese platter to share but this just finished the disappointing meal. This was served straight from the fridge. The whipped butter was too hard to spread and the cheese was too cold to have much flavour. With the drinks, we ordered a bottle of pinot noir (costing £55). This was served at too warm temperature, rather than a 15-18C that I would expect, especially for a more expensive bottle. With the atmosphere, they had a singer in there for live music. The style of music didn’t suit the type of restaurant and the singer was average at best. The saving grace was that the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall I wouldn’t look to return as we left rather deflated for what was our planned quality anniversary meal.

We asked reception if they knew anywhere we could take a walk and they gave us a leaflet with a map which was very useful. Truly exceptional. The lady that served us was super friendly and super helpful in looking after my wife and kids gluten free requirements. While waiting, we met customers who wanted their fish and chips that were not fried with meat products and the staff looked after their needs without fuss. The fish was super fresh. Light and crispy batter with juicy flaky fish and the chips were soft and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, almost like they were frozen McCain oven chips but not. Honestly the best chippy I’ve ever been to and we’ve been to a lot. I would recommend this restaurant if you’re ever in north Wales.

Interiors are a bit of a mish-mash of different styles and even the menu, albeit offering many items, was kind of difficult to navigate. It had hints of local, touristic and fusion. We settled on getting Welsh rarebit which was this tasty cheesy and sumptuous surprise - actually a traditional Welsh dish of melted cheese sauce on toast, often likened to cheese on toast. We also ordered jacket potatoes and the Specials of fried scampi and possibly the best chips we have ever had! Price was reasonable, service good as the two young ladies serving us were very nice although a bit hurried as there were several large parties having breakfast or lunch. You have to state it’s the £5 though as otherwise they’d charge you for the full price one! Food was pretty good and nice but with the price of drinks on top made it as much as full price meal. So not as cheap as you think. Asked for a glass of water when they brought food over as had burnt mouth on coffee which I didn’t say but they said they would bring it over straight away, seemed to be forgotten about until I had nearly finished eating. We went mid week in July. Nice table by the window even though it was busy. Quick efficient staff and all the other customers were happily chatting away. The lady that served us had a chat with us and was very friendly. We had 2 coffees with teak cakes. The coffee was fine and hot and the tea cakes were lovely with the offer of jam if we wanted it. The idea of frying your own steak is great and the presentation was good also. Vegetables weren't hot enough and I have never seen a jacket potato served with a steak (although the jacket potato was delicious). We could bring our own wine , which was great. Good stuff if you want to save some £££ on alcohol. The restaurant has a great potential and it's a shame that I have to give it only a 4 star rating.

We went for a friend’s baby shower. We were only a small group, but it had a lovely atmosphere. Nice music, reasonable prices, and the food blew me away — it wasn’t what I would have expected from what appears to be a tea room. The food tasted absolutely awesome and was presented really well. The tearoom was decorated beautifully in soft pinks and greys, with lovely flowers around the doors that made a great background for my friend’s baby bump pictures. I honestly could have spent all day in there — such a pleasant environment, looking out the window at the people shopping along Conwy High Street. One thing I would say that may have let it down slightly was that the toilet roll dispensers were broken, with loo roll on the floor, which was a shame as the bathroom itself was lovely. Maybe I was just unlucky and visited after someone a bit less respectful than myself, so it would probably be worth giving them a regular check in future. Also, the view from the toilet window is awesome — a pleasant surprise! It was a beautiful day weather-wise, so travelling from Chester and being able to see the sea was wonderful. We ordered the steak main and wine. We both prefer very different steaks and both were cooked perfectly! It all tasted excellent and the portions were generous.
