Tried the butter board (which was delicious), plus enjoyed a large serving of fish and chips (also delicious) all washed down with a nice bottle of (reasonably priced) red. The pub includes an outdoor seating area on the roof, which provides a great view of the harbour below. The food is lovely and fresh. I definitely recommend booking a table for food as it was very busy. The service was brilliant and all the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The only possible downside is that the nearest parking is a good 15-20 minute walk away as the entire town is blocked off to unauthorised vehicles. The walk is lovely and it means the town itself is very quiet. However, factor this walk in if you are driving to this location. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here and I'd highly recommend it.

Outdoor seating area consists of benches on cobblestones either side of the public footpath. Seating inside is cosy! Very little downstairs but upstairs has 2 dining areas with the pub's little kitchen to one side and the ladies toilet. Despite the small kitchen, our order came quite quickly. I enjoyed pan-fried hake on a bed of delicious rissotto with asparagus and mange tout. No wonder it's so popular! Great atmosphere in a very old pub. Gives a feel of tales of old. The team were great and nice conversation had. Food was delicious. I’d certainly suggest trying it when you’re in Polperro. Kathryn the owner couldn't have been friendlier. Great location just at the top of the village, circa 15-20 minute walk to the far end of Polperro on a gradual but not too step hill. The food is absolutely incredible and the service is some of the best I've ever experienced. We ended up at Couch's by accident when our dinner plans fell through. It was already 9pm and understandably, most restaurants in Polperro had closed their kitchens. We stopped by Couch's just to ask if anything was still open. Despite being completely full, they insisted they would not let us go hungry and served us a beautiful meal of soups, cheeses, and even dessert! We popped in on the off chance of a cancellation and much to our luck we go a booking, therefore if you do want to eat here defo book a week in advance! The lovely lady was very helpful with recommendations and if you love lobster this is the place to go locally. We got the biggest one available to share between too which was just under 3lbs and was the perfect amount. The scallops to start were lush and a nice Chablis to go with it all. The decor is reto but we absolutely loved it what a fantastic place with lovely services, what a lucky treat so again make sure you book to taste the local wonders of the sea.

Very nice, cozy little restaurant with gorgeous decor. Loved the experience I had at this establishment. Ordered scones, with jam and clotted cream. We were on a bike ride and checked Google for a suitable cafe stop open on a Sunday. This place didn’t disappoint. The coffee was excellent. As retirees we spend a lot of time in cafes drinking coffee, we know what we like - reasonable sized cups and hot coffee. Food, once again top marks for the sausage roll with marmalade. We were just wandering and fancied a sandwich on a whim. The couple serving were lovely and made us some very generously filled sandwiches to take away along with some beautiful scones, cream and jam for us to make up our own cream tea later! When we arrive we were the first person arrive at the restaurant and they sit us near to the WC. We order a chowder and scallop. Chowder was sweet and i found a tiny hair in it while eating. As i eat is just sweet taste and very dilute with cream,it is not pleasant at all. I carry on as did not like to make a fuss about it. Scallop was ok given the price and you get huge portion for it. And when the main arrive i was looking forward to taste it only to let down eith huge dissapointment. I order the this week special a lobster dish. The description was cheese sauce bake with bread crumbs with lobster. Sound delicious. But it taste horrible,as i dig in to eat instead of lobster it was filled with tiny prawns and a few piece of lobster bits which taste mushy and not fresh at all.The sauce is actually some cheese flavour water so dilute and watery and was not edible at all. I have to leave the dish,and they have the audacity to charge this dish for £34. The salad on the side was bitter and no dressing. The other dish we order was hake,it says bake with cheese. Again is just not very nice and with some sad looking vegetable on the side. Is a shame because it has high review and we actually books months before our trip and was really looking forward to this. We left with huge dissapointment and it leave a bitter taste after consider we pay for alot of money for food that taste so horrible in polperro.

A cosy, family-run restaurant serving lovely food at a good price point. Booking in advance in essential, they are only open Thursday to Sunday and do a small number of covers each evening. It really is a small restaurant with an intimate vibe and it was lovely to be able to chat to the family who run the restaurant during and after the meal. The service on the whole was excellent and extremely friendly, particular shout out to the young lady who did a stellar job serving us. Now onto the food - we both opted for seafood (both for starter and main) and it was excellent. The crab bisque starter was absolutely packed with flavour and the mackerel pate was also very nice. No complaints there. For mains we both ordered the monkfish in a creamy sauce and the fish was cooked to absolute perfection, and an excellent sized portion for the price. The monkfish was presented in a very nice and refined way, although slightly at odds with the vegetables/sides which I would describe as more rustic. Regrettably, the truffle and parmesan chips we ordered were too dark on the outside (oil too hot/cooked too long) and I couldn't taste much truffle/parmesan. For dessert we both opted for affogato and unfortunately this just didn't really work. I'm not sure why but the ice cream was extremely hard and never really melted, possibly the freezer was too cold, or there is too much clotted cream in the recipe - shame as the taste was delicious. In terms of drinks, there is a good selection wines at very reasonable prices. On the whole, we had a lovely time. Not everything was perfect but the gripes were fairly minor, and I do believe this place has the potential to be truly outstanding if some of the rougher and more rustic edges are sanded off. I'd certainly return if we visit Polperro again.

There is a good choice of food available with specials on offer. Food is well cooked, good ingredients and well presented. A reasonable wine list is also available. Service is a delight. Whilst it is very professional it can also be relaxed depending on the customers. We prefer happy and relaxed (yet always professional) and that is what we had. The atmosphere is fine with a variety of diners none of whom felt the need to shout to the person next to them. Cost is reasonable when all is taken into account, especially considering a bottle of wine was included. My advice to any prospective diners would be to book a table. Whilst of course they would be happy to cater for a 'walk-in', tables are often reserved or in use. I recommend Priscilla's Restaurant highly and no doubt will be returning here in the future

It was renovated a few years ago and has decent staff and a good range of well kept cask ales. Read the reviews for Pasty bakeries in Polpero as I wanted to visit there, and this place caught my attention. On our last day (sunday) we eventually made it to Polpero. Taste buds closes at 2pm and we made it there just before closing. Was greeted with a lovely welcome and service from the chap working. Explained about reading his reviews and going past all the other Pasty shops which put a smile on his face. I bought a large Pasty and as he was about to close he gifted me another for free. Made my day. Thoroughly enjoyed both of them as Im the only one in my family that likes them. Really great food and service. Will definately visit here again when we are in the area next.

Service was slow, very slow and the cacophony of noise from another large family in the restaurant made this wait almost unbearable. Obviously you can't hold the pub to blame for this but their behaviour was terrible and no effort was made to address it, forcing other possible diners to turn round and walk out. There were at least 4 reserved tables that were empty on our arrival and still on departure some time later. After a considerable wait our food arrived; My son's food was terrible low grade slop, mine was totally overcooked and my wife's, although tasty, arrived 10 minutes after ours. On payment I mentioned something to the bar staff who asked me, "what else do you expect, it's a busy day?" Normally I would see his point but due to the noise and behaviour of the family group in the restaurant there were only two other tables eating, us being one of them. So it's not like the kitchen was near busy. Unfortunately, it seems this place has gone downhill rapidly and the quality of the food has also diminished considerably. It's a shame as we used to enjoy visiting this pub but that definitely won't be happening again.
