We were here last Thursday and had a great time. Out waiter Ivan was amazing and very attentive. He was always coming around to make sure we were good and did not need anything else. The facility is amazing , everything was clean even though it was full to capacity. The beach was good and the water was clear. The pools were also very nice. Will be coming back on out next cruise.
My friend and I booked the Romance Cabana at Mr. Sanchez in Cozumel and it was amazing! Check-in was quick and easy, and they had everything ready for us. The cabana was super comfy, giving us a perfect spot to relax. We ordered food twice — the coconut shrimp and tacos were delicious, and the fajitas were just as good. We also went jet skiing, which was such a fun adventure! The pool with the swim-up bar was a blast, and the bartenders were awesome — they even wrote fun messages on our cups. We got the best of all worlds: a relaxing vibe in the cabana, excitement on the jet skis, and a party atmosphere at the pool. The ocean was spectacular — warm, clear, and absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend!
This place is amazing. Everything you want in an all inclusive stop. Drinks were cold and plentiful. Food was delicious and many options available. Get there early so you have your pick of spots on the beach or the pool. Our servers Carlos and Aaron took care of us very well. Highly recommend giving Mr. Sanchos a try.
Mr. Sanchos is absolutely worth the money. If you’re looking for something to do in Cozumel, Sanchos is a great choice. We had a covered table right on the beach. The water was clear and swimmable. The club is all-inclusive and our waiter Alejandro did an amazing job at making sure we had drinks and food whenever we wanted. The swim up bar was so much fun. The pool wasn’t crowded, and our bartender Josè kept our drinks coming. He learned our names and would call to us across the pool letting us know he made us more margaritas! The entire staff spoke English very well, so if you’re English-speaking and worried about that, Sanchos is great. There are extra things you can pay to do like jet skis and parasailing, but the club is still enjoyable without doing these. Margaritas were 10/10. The 16-year olds of our group had a great time too! Also free wifi.
We had the absolute best experience! Beautiful water. A little rocky near the shore but clear and beautiful. Great service. Decent food and drinks. Joannah gave me the best massage of my life! She was absolutely amazing! I also loved the cute coati on the property. They are super cute!
We had such an amazing time at Mr. Sanchos! The food was delicious, and the cocktails were strong — our favorite was the Mexican Powerade, it had us right! 🍹 Our server Memo was awesome and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. It was just me and my husband, and we wanted to keep our table while we explored — Memo saved it for us, which we really appreciated! We also did the ATV excursion, which I’d rate an 8/10 — fun, but mostly riding in circles. Next time, we’ll probably just relax on the beach since time flies between eating and exploring. The music was top tier, the staff was super friendly, and the whole vibe was amazing. We’ll definitely be back!
Absolutely the best. Don’t try the others until you try Mr Sanchos. Easy to book online in advance. Easy check-in on arrival. We had Julio and Edgar. unlimited food unlimited drinks. Lots of beach chairs, lots of umbrellas. Fantastic! Food and drink is 5 star. Clean restrooms. The spa and massage team was amazing.
we've been here before. it was good then. But not this time, these rice was slow it wasn't busy. our wait staff came by every 40 minutes. the brought food but it was cold an about half a serving. the drinks plain. it just wasn't good at all

Beautiful blue clear water! Theirs an entrance fee like 25$ bucks a person, with a chair and umbrella. Highly worth it! This beach is not congested like the other ones. They also have a snorkeling business next to the restaurant. We loves it!!!
I almost hate to leave a review because I don’t want this place overrun with obnoxious tourists from cruise ships. But it’s made Cozumel one of my favorite cruise stops - lol. A 25 minute taxi ride - or rent a car/scooter at the port and book it for $20 a person. Beach chairs are cushioned and they’ll bring you all the umbrellas you want. Food is fantastic! The calamari/ shrimp tastes like it just came out of the ocean. The guac is fantastic. Drinks are generous. Service is great… You can spend a lot or a little - just depends on what you want:-)
The perfect beach! $20 a person for a whole day with chairs and an umbrella is a steal. The water is so clear and calm.
We did the All inclusive VIP and it was surreal. Gabriel, Joni, the talented chef and bartender all did an incredible job and the beach is beautiful! 10/10 would recommend
Overall a 4 star. Beach was clean without sargassum, lady at the entrance was not that nice I don't know why. Beer is around 80 pesos which is reasonable. Service guy was rude at firstl, but then it suddenly changed (I don't know why). I'm glad that was the case. We paid 20 USD fee for the entrance and stayed for 2 hours only. I wouldn't go back next time, I think is worth it if you are staying longer
We visited Playa Palancar Beach Club during our cruise stop in Cozumel, looking for a nice spot to relax by the beach — and we’re so glad we found this place! The prices were very reasonable, and the food was delicious. It’s not all-inclusive, which actually worked out perfectly for us since we don’t eat much or drink alcohol. We ordered the mixed grilled seafood, and it was freshly cooked and full of flavor. We took a taxi from the port, which cost $30, but we gave $35 each way because both drivers were friendly and professional. The service at Playa Palancar was outstanding — our waiter was great, and honestly, the entire staff made sure we were comfortable from start to finish. If you’re visiting Cozumel on a cruise and just want a peaceful, affordable place to chill by the water, I definitely recommend Playa Palancar Beach Club!
Great place to relax. Great staff/service . Great food . We recommend this beautiful spot & all the great food/ambience it gives in Cozumel.
Gracias Gabriel y Alfonso. Our group of seven had a fantastic time today w food, drinks and amenities. We will come back to your exclusive beach but shhhhhh, we won’t tell anyone of best kept secret in Cozumel.

Just sailed the carnival breeze and this was a popular pick for our cozumel stop. We did have to pay an extra $50 a person for the round trip van ride but it was pleasant and the guy was really friendly. The staff at the resort was very attentive, I was never without a drink 🍸 or food 😅 the water was nice and beautiful. Lots of activities but again have to pay extra. Went to the pool also and it was nice and cool. Cute little photo ops around the resort also that my daughter and son enjoyed, "for the 'gram, mom" lol Overall we enjoyed the day, just make sure to bring some money 💰 🤑 💸
There was 4 ships docked this day and we decided to go with paradise. They had a wonderful staff with all hands on deck. The drinks were fantastic and the bathrooms were nice and clean. The food was just okay but they made sure to bring you as much as you wanted and the drinks really made up for it. Martin and 2 other gentleman took care of us. They did an excellent job! Their shop and pharmacy had great prices as well. Over all for what we paid this place was a steal! We'd recommend and would return!!
This was a great beach day in Cozumel. From the time we entered until we left, everybody was friendly and helpful. We were never left with an empty cup or plate. We pad for the kids to use the water slides, and it was well worth it. Our waiters were attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. We took a taxi there and back, it was $18 for the 4 of us (as per the sign on the port), we tipped $5 extra each way. Also yes the waiters should be tipped at the end of the day. It’s based off total of food and drinks ordered. For the 4 of use we tipped a total of $60, and that’s with multiple drinks, plenty of plates of food and 2 waiters assisting us for approx 5 hours. If you can’t respect the staff the serves you, and tip appropriately, then save your time and don’t go. But if you can respect good food, drinks, atmosphere, service and a great day at the beach, we recommend and will visit again.
Paradise beach was amazing! We went on October 21st to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary and my daughter’s 10 birthday. The food and service were beyond our expectations. Villy and Alberto were our servers and made sure we were taken care of the entire time we were there. We were never left without a drink or food! Diana did my daughter’s hair and she made my daughter’s whole trip! Would recommend to any family! We will be visiting again! Thank you for a great anniversary and birthday celebration!
Paradise Beach was beautiful. All inclusive resort for food and drinks. Beach toys and top shelf liquor was extra, but really not necessary. Beautiful clean crystal blue pool and sandy beach. Water off of beach was kinda rocky. would recommend water shoes rather than bare feet. Service was great. I don't think we went 10 minutes without our waiter Fernando stopping by to see if we needed anything. If we did want something, it was brought to us quickly. Very relaxing time, with pleasant music being played. would definitely recommend. A quick 15-20 minute taxi ride to / from resort from cruise port. $18.00us for two each way.
Our Family cannot say enough about our stay at the Paradise Villa Cozumel. From the moment we arrived until we departed. Thank you to each and every staff member for making each person in our group feel special. From amazing and delicious food and drinks to fun filled games and adventures. A Special thanks to Jorge Chichi, Mario Balam Hopefully we can meet again.
Loved it. Got sunburned burnt. But a waiter came by every fifteen minutes to offer food and drinks at Paradise Beach. Would 100% recommend to adults over 21 who enjoy fruity alcoholic beverages.
Best experience off the ship. It's a quick 10 minute taxi ride from the port. The food and drinks are amazing. Plenty of activities for all ages.

Whether you’re relaxing on the beach, enjoying the water slides, or trying out water sports, Playa Mia is an ideal destination for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.
We went to Playa Mia on our cruise as an excursion. The amenities were great. We got food and drinks including alcohol included in the price we paid. The food was the only thing that wasn’t worth talking about. Could definitely improve. Other than that. Everybody is nice and friendly. We got loungers and kayak, water bikes, the water inflatables in the ocean and pools. They also had a play area for the kids. I’ll be coming back.
Came here on a shore excursion through my cruise. Felt safe and had so much fun! Very clean! Bathrooms are immaculate! Had a nice time on the inflatable obstacle course in the water on the beach! It is $12 to rent a towel, even with a day pass. We just dried off in the sun! Will be back with our families, as there was a nice pool and kids splash area and water slide. Thanks for a great day in Cozumel!
We bought an excursion to Playa Mia through our cruise ship. Getting there was fantastic. Service was phenomenal. Bathrooms were great and clean. Drinks were great and poured well! Beach was beautiful, not rocky. Plenty of seats with umbrellas. Pool was perfect. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the food was lacking. Mashed potatoes were amazing. Chips were great! Chicken was ok. Rice was good. I'd definitely go back because the Service was so great.
We recently visited here as part of an excursion with Royal Caribbean as part of the Deluxe resort package. When we arrived, there was construction work which we wasn't told about. The pool area never had any loungers, so we went to the beach area. The beach area was OK, and myself and the kids went on the inflatables in the water which was fun, as well as the canoes. The buffet which was onsite was quite limited, as well as the drinks being served. Overall, the experience for a 4-5 hour excursion was OK.
It was okay. For the amount of money you pay I would just expect a little nicer. We paid for the all you can eat but I think that was a mistake. The food at the buffet wasn’t all that appetizing and we barely ate any. The beach was fine, found a place to sit and the kids had a blast playing in the sand and water. The blowup toys were pretty far out in the water so we didn’t actually end up doing anything with them. It was fine just don’t get your hopes up too high.
We were there for the whole day, had bought tickets already without buffet. It was really cool we did everything we could: we were on the inflatable water park, kayak, water bike and could also snorkel and see the underwater city. Around 16:00/17:00 we were almost alone, everybody left so we had all for us.
We did the glass bottom boat snorkeling excursion. Amazing. Our guides were fantastic. I lost my phone during my snorkeling, and Ernie dove down and retrieved it!!! He was our guide and showed us a barracuda, a lobster, a conch shell with the animal living in it, and an assortment of fish.

Amazing beach club with zero entry fee—don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! Our cab driver tried to steer us toward an all-inclusive spot, claiming there was a fee here, but we trusted our gut and headed to the Money Bar. Glad we did. The water is crystal clear and sargassum-free, perfect for snorkeling or just a swim. The vibe is super chill, with both tables and lounge chairs available, and even though it was lively, it never felt overcrowded. Shoutout to Pino, our server—he was absolutely on point the entire time, keeping our drinks coming without us even having to ask. Not sure why others have complained about service, because ours was excellent from start to finish. All in all, a perfect place to unwind by the water. Highly recommend!
I wasn't sure what to expect at first as I've heard The Money Bar had a bad rap but this was where we boarded our snorkeling trip. The restaurant is like a large open gazebo type place with bar and amazing food. Food was expensive but portions are large and one can use the facilities to swim/ snorkel, shower and use the restrooms. There are lounging chairs and umbrellas as well. Menu has a wide range of food choices, along with drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. The rocky beach at both sides of the restaurant are public. The restaurant has a small dock which Top Cozumel Tours company uses for its boat tours. Great to take the tour (we booked through Viator) and have a meal, swim/snorkel, and then change at the Money Bar. The service was wonderful and people were super friendly. Enrique was very attentive and friendly. Bb Easy to hail a taxi here if going back to the ferry ports or anywhere on the island. The Money Bar and Top Cozumel Tours are highly recommended!!! 👌
Like others said, extreme unprofessional waiters, pushing for tips and lie in your face. Refuse to call a taxi and lie in your face said he did call. Also lie about taxi fair price range. Other employee such as hosts are very nice and kind, would help you get taxi. This place has shower and restroom, you can also cook your catch/fish here for 200 peso per fillet. It will come with fry and chip, chip on the other hand is really good! lol Be ware of strange service, 90 peso for water and they do not tell you when you ask they just bring it. Also double check your receipt they double charge water for me 180 peso for water...can you believe it..... It seems every thing is outdoor no ac. I believe both dollar and peso are accepted here. As for credit cards I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND you to use it here.
This place definitely lives up to its name! It would be a great place to hang out with friends! The food and drinks are very pricey, though, even for breakfast. The snorkeling right off the shore is great! There’s a nice little raised beach area over to the side with free loungers and umbrellas.
If I were solely rating the food and location, I would give 5 stars; however, unfortunately, the service didn’t meet that same level of standard. Let’s start with the pros: the location is stunning! There is a beautiful patio where you can dine right in front of the ocean. Want to take a dip? No problem—there’s a staircase into the water where many people swim and snorkel, and it’s very clear (no seaweed!). There are also a few beach beds for you to relax and soak up the sun. While it’s not an actual beach, the area they’ve recreated with sand and beach chairs works well. The food was delicious—we ordered the grilled red snapper and it was big enough to feed two people. Where things took a downturn was the service. They had a two-for-one offer running, and our group of four ordered Aperol spritzes. Instead of bringing one drink per person (and the second round later), they brought eight all at once. Not only did that feel excessive and wasteful, but the drinks were watered down. I’d much rather pay full price for a well-made cocktail than compromise on quality for the sake of a deal. What made the experience worse was the server’s insistence that we leave a 30% tip, despite the lackluster service. My message to the management of this lovely establishment is to be more conscious of the small details that can impact the overall guest experience. The setting and food are wonderful—but the service should enhance, not detract from, the experience.
We came to Cozumel on cruise. Didn't have our snorkel gear with us, so stopped at Money Bar to rent gear and snorkel reef. Great location to snorkel, but the gear was not good at all. So great place to snorkel but bring your own gear. Staff was very attentive.
This beach bar was included as the start and end point of our shore excursion. They couldn't have picked a better place because the food and snorkeling were amazing! The day we went, the water was a bit choppy, but once you stuck your head in the water and let the ocean gently bob you around as you gaze at all the fish and sea life around. The other boat led shore excursions stopped here also for a snorkel stop.
We stopped by this place after I did some reading. Taxi driver didn’t want to take me there. I see why, they don’t rip you off. The food was amazing, and so was the service. They didn’t charge an admission price and there is a large sign displaying this at the entrance. My back was hurting and luckily I was approached by an unassuming 4 foot something Mexican lady for a massage. She gave me the best massage of my life. I first decided on a 30 minute and opted to change to an hour midway. The snorkeling is amazing and all the excursions are dropping off folks right off the beach to snorkel. Plenty of friendly fish and coral. The bathrooms are neat and clean and they provide showers. I will return on my next visit.

This place, to include the dolphin push and pull package, was exceptional! This was our third time swimming with dolphins (not here) and it was the best by far. The interaction is incredible and duration was just right. What topped it off was getting a nice lunch, endless drinks, and getting to hang out on the beach for a while. Highly recommend! A few warning footnotes: you can't take pics of yourself with dolphins, the photos are very expensive, and you will go with another group as it's not private.
Experienced this as an excursion. Overall it was okay but I do not think it was worth the price. Everything that was described was not what happened and it was completely unorganized for my group. At times, many of us were standing around asking what we were supposed to do and go next. The staff was pretty friendly though. Jose was very comical and was a good host for the most part entertainment-wise. The trainer Maria, she was awesome. She was encouraging and really helped put those of us that were nervous at ease. Everyone in our group got to do everything only once. One dolphin kiss, one shake, and those that could swim did one swim and then that was it. The food was not good to us, but The slushie type drinks they were serving were delicious and perfect because it was hot. We were not able to complete the other things such as snorkeling because it was unavailable or it was in a time slot. They had someone taking pictures while we were having the dolphin experience. The pictures were nice, but the packages were too expensive and 40 for one picture was even too much. They also didn't allow phones when you were down with the dolphin so you couldn't even take a close up picture of the dolphin yourself.
VERY RECOMMENDED! We booked the VIP dolphin tour. Our dolphins were Isabel and Rio, and I believe our dolphin trainer was Seline/Celine. We had an amazing time, and she was so nice and patient with us. Each person in our group got personal time with the dolphins; we got to touch them and they pulled us around one by one. The dolphins were so cute and the whole experience was very good ! We also saw the manatee Angel with the trainer Jacky/Jackie. She taught us about the manatees and we got to feel it. We also saw an amazing sea lion show which was very entertaining. The only reason I’m docking off a point is because of the photos they try to push you to buy after the dolphin experience. We were told pictures were $180, $160, $200, and $140 by different workers which made it really feel like they were scamming us. In the end, we didn’t purchase the photos because we were told they were $140 but they changed the price of the photos 1 minute later. One thing I liked, though, was how there’s buffet-style food so you don’t go hungry. TLDR; dolphin experience was very good, only thing that threw me off was the people working in the photo area.
I had an incredible time scuba diving with a dolphin. You need your open water certification then you can dive down with the trainer and interact with the dolphins for 35 minutes. It was out of this world!!
Up close w the dolphins. Get a deal on Groupon or its pretty expensive. Photos are over priced. Food average, but service great. Snorkeling amazing! Beach nice. Lots of chairs and hammocks
This was such a fun experience! We booked in advance, and once we got off of our cruise ship they were waiting for everyone who booked, led us all to taxis. Once we got there, they explained rules and such, and gave us life jackets and led us over to get in with the dolphins! We paid for one photo of each of us and a family photo- but they gave us every single shot (157 photos). You can no longer swim with them, but I’d say for all that we got to do, it was worth the money!
Thank yall so much for the awesome experience we had. We are so grateful for the opportunity yall gave us as well. I recommend this place, we had Louis as our dolphin and A momma and baby(I forgot their names) my first interaction with dolphins and it was worth it. My kids had a blast as well did my spouse, father n law and sister n law. Our tour guide was awesome (Pepe) we really enjoyed him and the dolphin experience.
Its a great place with an awesome dolphin and Manatee experience. Staff is courteous. The only thing I dont like is lot of hidden fees which goes as follows: 1. Pictures of dolphin experience: $50 USD per picture or $70 USD package per adult. As you cannot take your camera or cell phone for the experience you have no choice but to pay it. Also you need to pay for the baby also. 2. Towel rental cost you $15 USD 3. Locker rental costs you $7 USD Apart from that the experience is great and dolphin one is truly special.

I would like to give a big thank you to Jose our dolphin trainer one dolphin was name, Igor and the other one I can’t remember. Jose was very informative about the Dolphins in our experience was great. My son is seven and autistic and Jose let him take his time to warm up to the dolphins at his own pace even with the group that were in. We ate in then went snorkeling and it was his first time my son ever snorkel, and he did an amazing job and loved it. After being there for an hour eating and fixing to head out, Jose called me and my son by our name and had us go back to look at the dolphins that were nursing and was talking to my son about them. My son was listening in asking questions in Jose answered them well. It’s customer service like that if we do take our trip again, we will probably head backand do the dolphin excursion.
We booked an excursion from our cruise ship at a good price. It included a swim and ride experience with a dolphin, which was awesome. The dolphin trainer Alberto was excellent and helpful. The dolphins were Ebert and Eagle. The food and drinks were delicious and were part of an inclusive price. The draw back that we and other participants didn’t like was the extra charges. For one thing, everyone had to purchase a locker for their belongings costing an extra $15. And pictures with 1 person in the photo was $39. And there were many photos we wanted of the dolphin encounter. We could purchase photo package which is close to $300. We weren’t expecting these extra charges so we didn’t bring a credit card and had a less than a hundred for spending money. Especially in a foreign country. So we left with no photos of the memories we made. And at the beginning they made it clear that we can’t have any jewelry on and no phones or cameras. So the pictures I did take was before and after the encounter. Very disappointed.
Dolphinaris Cozumel is an unforgettable experience and a must do if you’re visiting the island. I highly recommend booking directly through their website, they offer better package deals than the cruise lines, and many include perks like a free lunch buffet and complimentary adult drinks. But the real highlight? You actually get to swim with the dolphins and even ride one, an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime moment that’s worth every penny. I’ve visited more than once, and each time has been just as magical. I’ll definitely be coming back again.
Booked as excursion through MSC cruise. Very efficient, organized, clean and animals were well cared for! Didn’t care for goggle portion but otherwise felt safe! Received dolphin kisses, hug & playful activities
It was pretty quick dolphins 🐬 encounter. Each tourist got to post pictures with dolphins, touch them, and felt it's heartbeat. You can't bring your own camera to the pool and they will sell you those pictures digitally but way over price. The ticket included food and drinks. They encourage people to get a locker but if you are not bringing your passport and a lot of cash you don't really need to. Before you got into the assigned pool you can put your thing away in the wooden container. The locker is really small for $15.00 USD.
This was an excursion through MSC. The title was Swim, ride with dolphins. Well, the rules recently changed which I understand, but the excursion details should be updated to reflect this, right? Apparently not. Paid almost $200 vs the encounter package was saving $80.00 and the only difference is you would swim into deeper water to put your arms out and have the dolphins swim underneath your hands to have them brush underneath your hands to feel their skin. I did enjoy it, but if I knew beforehand, I would have chosen the dolphins. Encounter which my wife.and the Younger child did while me and the older.one did the "ride and swim." Also need to mention the pics they take for you is $40.00 per hard copy printout. They did offer a digital package of 239.00 for us, but mind you you had to find your own pics on an ipad. There was no organization and the staff would walk away try to talk to others. We ended up taking to print 4 hard copies for $100.00 instead of taking the digital copies that would be sent to your email in a few hours. Think about that if you don't get.your link. We were assured that thereafter person that has access and would show up on Monday when I was leaving back for the ship with paying and seeing a link hopefully. Nah, can't guarantee the link.
Booked excursion on Disney cruise. This was a once in a lifetime experience being able to interact with a dolphin. Plenty of time doing different things with the dolphin in your group including a kiss, holding fins, and being pulled by the dolphin. Worth the money and included lunch and drinks. Picture package is worth it as well for lifetime memories!
We booked this excursion through Royal caribbean and it was supposed to be a VIP all inclusive and for the most part it was. The reason they get a 2 stars is for 2 reasons. One was because they do not allow you to bring your camera when you are with the dolphins you have to buy there pictures which WOW are extremely expensive. We purchased 83 digital pictures for $180 they wanted $280 my wife speaks Spanish so she negotiated them down but I can only image how much they charge people who don't speak Spanish. The second reason is you can buy the pictures online cheaper and they do not tell you that we only found out when we left. Bottom line just remember this is a tourist Trap so don't be surprised of the extreme prices. One last thing food was ok and the soda and alcohol was pretty bad. I wasn't surprised for these two items and you cannot wear sun tan lotion it effects the animals so if you have fair skin this is not the excursion for you I got sunburn on my bald head :(.

We had so much fun! There is plenty of shady spots to sit. The beach was beautiful. We had Roberto and Alberto as our guides and they were such a blast. They were beyond knowledgeable and so helpful! Food and drinks were included on our excursions which made it super convenient. I have to say the raccoons were a bonus. I absolutely loved seeing them. They were so so sweet and just looking for scraps. It’s like a 2 for 1 excursion, especially if you’re an animal lover. We had the best time and would do it again. The boat ride takes about an hour but they have jams playing and you can look out at the water, dance, sing and get to know the people around you.
It is hr away from the port The staff supper nice is outstanding the food and drinks was fantastic but little down side is beach is not clear as like to be. It privacy from the crowd..
My husband and I enjoyed this stop on one of our excursions from the cruise ship. The sand was so soft. The water was beautiful and clear. We enjoyed the fish and seashells.
We had a wonderful time! The boat ride to and from the island were both easy and well organized. Danny and Alberto were both wonderful tour guides. The drinks were good, service was excellent, and it was overall just a really relaxing excursion from our ship. I would definitely book again.
If you go on a Carnival cruise to Cozumel, this is a MUST. The lunch was delicious, they kept the drinks coming and the staff, (shout out to Angel and crew) were amazing. We got in a hammock, together, in the water and just relaxed, talked and had fun. There was other stuff to do but that made our day
I loved it. The island is beautiful, and the food was good. We went through a cruise excursion, which took about 45 minutes to get there from the dock. I do wish we could have spent more time there, but they limit it to make sure you're back to the ship on time. So, our total on the island was approximately 3 hours.
Had an amazing time here !!! Travel time was about 55 mins from Pier & the most beautiful thing you can see are the flying fish taking flight right out of the ocean. The entire staff took care of everyone here & the food is excellent. I highly recommend this excursion. The Captain, Leo & the entire crew members Gracias 🏝 🇲🇽 🇨🇱 Cristobal
Passion Island was a pleasant surprise. The staff was organized, funny, and professional. Restrooms clean with bathroom attendants on duty. Food was decent, with a few buffet options, open bar was ok, cash bar available for more variety. The boat ride there was smooth and scenic. Shopping, massages, kayaks, mini inflatable obstacle course, in water hammocks, beach loungers, plus shaded tables available. The whole family including my 12 year old enjoyed themselves. The beach was full without being crowded as they stagger the tourist groups. They do take pictures upon arrival and they are available for purchase. Bring cash as all the staff is wonderful and accommodating, you will want to tip. If I could change anything it would be to have an extra hour on the island and 2 lines for the buffet as the food line was a little long. Overall great experience, beach was beautiful, we would definitely book again.

Set in an iguana-filled wildlife refuge, these popular Mayan ruins consist of several structures.
Slide 1 of 8
This was an amazing experience to see the ruins up close. Our tour guide and associates there were super friendly and very detailed on the history. Really enjoyed this, make sure you were walking shoes for the extended tour. We did a short tour due to time restraints but the time we had was still worth it.
This was a great place but I am so upset I could not enjoy it more. I love history and couldn’t wait to visit the ruins. You have to pay 2 admission fees for a total of $15 US. You will also get totally hounded by sales people and encouraged to get. Tour guide which will cost an additional $30. They also take your picture and when you are leaving, will try to sell you the picture with a nice frame for $35. I did buy the Momento because it was a great camera and it came with the frame. But I talked them down to $25. The major issue I had there was MOSQUITOS. We were attacked mercilessly by these very tiny painful biting mosquitoes. My whole family was bitten with no mercy, so much so we ran through the site in less than 10 minutes. They ate right through my crunchy momma stem stem spray with essential oils. TIP- if this is a site you plan to visit, treat your clothes with a permethrin spray, your skin with the permethrin lotion and carry a spray with DEET to treat the areas that you did not cover. Believe me, the mosquitoes will find it. If you forget to do this, do not do a last-minute trip here or an excursion without it you will regret it! I promise you. Now for the next 10 weeks, I have to watch out for Zika, Dengue fever and other mosquito borne sickness there. I understand this is the jungle . However, I feel like they can do even just a little to help control the mosquitoes. Maybe even weekly fogging would make somewhat of a difference.,
Great archeological site! We went on a Sunday and there wasn’t anyone there! We had the whole place to ourselves! The full tour takes a while. It’s a long walk. Wear bug spray and shoes you don’t mind getting wet or muddy. I wore flip flops but other shoes may have been better.
Pretty cool place, I went through with a tour and thought it was interesting to learn about the lunar goddess and the lunar calendar and how the 28 days of the lunar calendar were incorporated into the arch. My kids were most interested in an iguana that was walking around. 30 minutes is probably sufficient.
Interesting structures and history. Pretty drive into the area. Make sure you bring cash!!! Some of the entry fees must be paid this way. It was super hot because we went in July but it was still worth the trip and the heat!
It was not a good experience. We were greeted by the security guard who offered to give us bug spray for a tip...(here's a tip, sir, stop functioning from a place of greed and start being a good human). Then he walked us to reception and told us there was a double charge for entrance. One was for state fee, the other was federal fee, total $15. They proceed to charge us $15 per person, then you got to a different kiosk where they force you to pay another entrance fee plus, for an additional fee, you can get a tour guide. By the time, we reached the ticket gate, the kid in front said to take a picture of the map, which will cost 100 pesos...he said it as a joke but at that point we understood that this was another tourist trap to get money however they could. Mind you, we were the only ones there, so they did not need to act that way. We were literally the only car in the parking lot...They literally did not do anything for us but charged us for nothing. We went inside, looked at a couple of Ruins in 5 minutes and left because of the horrible experience of walking in before getting into the ruins. It takes about 25 minutes to get to it from the center, but honestly, it is not worth it just for the quality of the people that you will be greeted by once you arrive. Unfortunately the ruins were ruined by the staff employed who function from a place of greed. Very unfortunate. Very disappointed.
Must get the tour guides! We had one and she was amazing. We were able to understand what the structures were and how they relate to others in Mexico. The site itself was small and lots of mosquitoes, but well kept.
Luckily we arrived before the tour buses arrived and was able to get a terrific tour guide. We had limited time but he covered quite a bit and kept it very interesting.

Beautiful Virgin beach, but you have to be a great swimmer in case you want to snorkel. Swimming of at least one kilometer through the dense sea weed will finally take you to the clear turquoise water for snorkeling. The food at the local restaurant was awesome .
⭐☆☆☆☆ One of the Worst Experiences – Not Worth the Trip! Visited today, and honestly, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a tourist spot. The road to get there is terrible — full of potholes and dirt paths covered with water, so you can’t even see where the holes are. The lighthouse view was decent, but the area itself was smelly and swarming with mosquitoes. Bathrooms and showers were not clean at all. They charged us $210 USD for 11 people (including 4 kids) and only accepted cash — felt like a total rip-off. The food and massage were also disappointing. The water was dirty and full of seaweed. Overall, this place is not worth the time or money. Florida beaches are much cleaner and far more enjoyable. Mexico really needs to stop taking advantage of tourists like this. Save your money and visit a nearby area instead! Worse of all they have this plastic tables one of our family member seat on it and it broken as I think this are old and being in sun they are weak. They charge $10 for the table it shows their mindset.
The Punta Sur Eco Park was by far the highlight of our stay on Cozumel! It’s super peaceful, and we saw several wild crocodiles and even a coati. The entrance fee is around €25 per person, but it includes a free boat tour through the mangroves (available in English and Spanish). The beach is absolutely stunning — the most beautiful one we’ve seen in all of Mexico. Unlike many other spots, there was no seaweed here at all. The water was crystal clear, and there are great snorkeling spots you can reach directly from the beach. There’s also a lighthouse you can climb for an amazing view over the entire park. Absolutely worth visiting!
Punta Sur is a gorgeous, serene stop that has something for everyone. There are so many activities that admission covers including beach access with chairs, showers, restrooms, swings, hammocks, hiking trails, Mayan ruins, a lighthouse, a museum, beautiful lagoons, and a lagoon boat tour. Additionally your ticket goes to conservation efforts like restoring mangroves. The beach closes at 4:00, but the rest of the park stays open til five. The road is long, and there are some potholes, but as long as you drive slow they are not an issue. You need a car and cash to visit. The boat tour needs to see your ticket for admission, and it runs from 12:00-14:00 with a departure every hour. Our tour guide was very informed and witty; we learned a ton about mangroves and the lagoons. There are crocodiles so be cautious on trails and when getting on the boat. During our tour crocodiles hung out under the dock we were on. For hiking make sure to bring bug spray! The vendors onsite sell it but it is marked up super high. We decided to take a hike and got eaten alive by mosquitoes. The hike was super nice other than the bugs and you reach an nice observatory tower for taking pictures. There are tons of iguanas on the trail and the trail overlooks a crocodile pond too. The beach itself is gorgeous and one of the closest spots to El Cielo. These is great snorkeling, and the water is sargassum free. On the beach there are bats and restaurants. These places only take cash. At the bar “El Cielo” they had good drinks.
Punta Sur Eco Beach Park is one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots in Cozumel. The park offers stunning ocean views, a historic lighthouse, and plenty of opportunities to see wildlife like crocodiles, flamingos, and tropical birds. The beaches are clean and quiet, perfect for swimming or relaxing. The small Mayan ruins add a nice cultural touch, and the on-site restaurant serves great local food with a view. It’s well worth spending a few hours here to enjoy both nature and history in one place.
We bought our tickets via 3rd party (Viator) and which where advertised as combo ticket with admission plus sunbeds and umbrella at Cielo Beach at the end of the park. We were not spotting during purchase that 1. this is for entry with an own car only (luckily we had a rental car with us), and 2. that the hours are a bit peculiar (some parts close at 4pm, the rest at 5pm), the little inner boat tour on a lake is at 2pm only. The park itself is quite large and seems really a natural habitat for the animals living there. On the flip side we barely saw larger animals we were mainly therefore, ie no turtles, and only one croc somewhat hidden on our way out. The beach or beach bar was not worth it at all, drinks and food completely overpriced and no value add, since the beach does look quite nice but Cozumel has dozen of beaches looking like that or better.
Most beautiful beach on Cozumel. Swam out to the reef to snorkel! Far swim but with it. Water is calm. We saw shark, lobster, rays. Not too deep! Worth the $ plus we saw the crocs on the boat tour!
The park is open from 9 to 4 not 5. From San Miguel to the entry it will take good 30 minutes when the traffic is not busy. From the entry on the dirt road was rough. To drive to the light tower , it took 15 minutes, from the light tower to the beach another 20 minutes. The road has no shade at all. Too long to hike. You need a car to visit this park. The view from the top of the tower is stunning. The small museum is very interesting. The boat ride in the Lagoon is wonderful with the guide telling us about the origin of the park and how the citizens of Cozumel chose to decline mass tourism to conserve their beautiful island. The captain and guide are extremely familiar with the whole environment. They know where the crocodiles can be spotted. They called the names of the crocodiles. We saw lots of birds including flamingos After lunch, we snorkel in the calm blue sea and saw fish and stung ray. Our driver told us about the turtles . A true magical trip.

We loved this beach. We booked a snorkeling package via a catamaran from Playa del Carmen. We got to see stingrays and star fish.
Our visit to El Cielo in Cozumel was absolutely incredible! The turquoise waters are just as beautiful as everyone says, it’s like stepping into a tropical paradise. We had the best time on the boat tour, exploring the crystal clear waters and amazing marine life. The water was calm, warm, and inviting, perfect for swimming and relaxing. The tour itself was great, with water and drinks aboard. The ceviche and chips were delicious and hit the spot at the perfect moment. Everything was well organized, making for a enjoyable day on the water. One of the highlights was swimming with the stingrays, such an incredible experience! We also got up close with sea stars, which was a real treat. The party ambiance on the boat made the experience even more fun, with music and great vibe, shut out to our Captain and crew, they were very knowledgeable, fun and friendly. The kids absolutely loved it, they had an amazing time swimming, exploring, and interacting with the marine life. It was the perfect family adventure! If you’re looking for an amazing day out on the water, El Cielo is definitely a must-do in Cozumel. The ferry ride from Playa del Carmen was good and comfortable. A great experience that we won’t forget.Highly recommended!
Your boat tour will most likely bring you here. This beach is beautiful. The water is crystal clear full of sea life. Be respectful and take your trash with you.
Best snorkel trip! I loved swimming with all the starfish! FYI- you can’t drive here, you can only get to El Cielo by boat!
The place is a paradise. Shallow, super clear water with turquoise color, white sand at the bottom. There are stingrays going around and you can see also starfish from El Cielo before the boats stops here at El Cielito. It a picture perfect place to take selfies or just landscape photos, though make sure to enjoy the scenery, the water and experience. I think this is the best water in all Cancun/Riviera Maya/Cozumel area. Surely the experience will vary depending on the tour company you book, but the experience at location should be the same for at tour booking.
Great beach. One of the best in Cozumel. If you come in the morning, you are almost alone at the beach. Absolutely fantastic. The restaurant and the drinks at the beach are a little overpriced. But the beach is great.
Yes, it is heaven! I knew what it looked like. I'd seen the pictures. BUT when I got there I was speechless. This is a must-go if you are visiting Cozumel.
We really enjoyed the tour. We decided not to snorkel.. but we brought our own beer and used their ice coolers. They did offer us two beers at the end. But the beautiful colors of the water was just awesome. It was fun watching everyone else snorkeling and then we got out of the beach for the little beach party. I’d go again.

Excellent water for snorkelling.. Nice beach. Has sea lion show and also dolphins with extra cost. Pricing are pretty much clear. I recommend this park
We swam with the dolphins there and they were great, but they do not do the dolphin pool anymore, You cannot take your own camera and only purchase their digital prints which I paid $190 for all of them sent to my email and download. The small beach was very rocky and hard to walk in and the water was very murky. We didn't eat the included buffet because we ran out of time. But our dolphin trainer America and our sweet dolphin Miranda were wonderful 🩷🩷
This was a decent excursion. The buffet was a great bonus but the food and selections weren’t that good. The service was very nice. Our guide Omar was great! It sucks that you can’t take your own pictures, mostly because I didn’t want images interacting with the animals—I wanted images of the animals alone. You’ll have to buy pictures. Gift shop was overpriced and they were having trouble with the card machine. We didn’t see the sea lion show but the manatee was sweet. We saw dolphins but did not do any extra participation with them. The beach area was very rocky and the waves were so strong that day it was hard to enjoy it. It was cool to see historical sites too—we walked around a lot. We made the best of it!
Chankanaab Beach and Adventure Park in Cozumel is a beautiful and well-organized destination that offers a great mix of relaxation, nature, and adventure. The park is clean, easy to navigate, and perfect for visitors who want a full experience without having to travel far from the cruise port. The beach area is stunning, with crystal-clear water ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The underwater statues and colorful marine life make the snorkeling experience especially memorable, even for beginners. Beyond the beach, the park offers a variety of activities such as ziplining, tequila tasting, botanical gardens, and sea lion shows. There’s plenty to do whether you want a calm day or something more active. Families will appreciate the safe environment and accessible amenities, while couples and solo travelers can enjoy quiet spots to relax. Food and drinks inside the park are convenient, though slightly pricier—as expected in a tourist attraction—but the service is generally friendly and quick. Locker rentals, gear, and cabanas are available for those who want extra comfort. Overall, Chankanaab Beach and Adventure Park is a great choice for a well-rounded day in Cozumel, offering beautiful scenery and fun activities suitable for all ages.
Pros: Beautiful snorkeling and a nice shallow reef, large layout so you're not right up on each other with plenty of space to spread out with nice chairs. Cons: EXPENSIVE! tickets to get in are pricey and the food/drinks ( drinks I seen $7/beers, $15-20 margaritas) are some of the lost expensive I've seen on the island which I found ridiculous. I'd say for the money stick with Buccanos as it's $10/person which is to be used towards food or drink there. Attached are pictures of the sea lion show and a very cool iguana I was able to capture with my camera.
Neat place. We did the swim with the manatees. That was awesome. It's a very busy place...especially with all the cruise ships. Scheduling times for the manatees was difficult and then they were running behind schedule. Watch taking a later time if you're close to having to be back on board ship. The beach is very rocky...highly recommend water shoes. While there, go see the vendor Monkey, 2nd shop from the end before yoy enter the turnstile.
Fun, but needs repairs. Fence by dolphins is sharp and decking near is weak. I stepped and the deck broke. It's very rotted.
Good experience. Be prepared to pay for your photos. It was $40 for a single or $230 for all from our Dolphin encounter. We went as an excursion from our cruise. Handlers were knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of little booths to purchase knick snacks. We had free food and drinks with our excursion, not sure if you get the same just going to the park.

At the Mayan Cacao Company, visitors are introduced to the entire cacao production process. The journey begins with an exploration of the cacao trees and the harvesting of cacao pods. Guides share fascinating insights about the traditional methods of growing and cultivating cacao, as well as the important role it played in Maya society. This interactive experience offers a deeper appreciation for the art of chocolate-making while connecting guests to the ancient Maya traditions. Beyond the educational experience, the Mayan Cacao Company also operates a shop where visitors can purchase handmade chocolate products, local crafts, and cacao-based beauty products. Overall, the Mayan Cacao Company in Cozumel is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, culture, and, of course, chocolate. It provides an unforgettable blend of education, hands-on experiences, and the chance to indulge in high-quality, artisanal chocolate.
We enjoyed our visit very much. We took the tour and did the make your own chocolate, which was fun and very informative. The overall place is somewhat small but the guides are very interesting and very friendly. Angel was our guide who took care of us. The gift shop was nice and they have free samples of all their flavors.
What a great location! Paty was a wonderful guide who is so knowledgeable about cocoa and its history. A must see for anyone visiting the island. Definitely ask for Paty if you would like an in depth and fun tour!!
Did this your as an excursion on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. Patty was our guide and she made the whole tour informative and fun. The presentations were very colorful and our activities were fun. The presenters were very well prepared. Definitely worth the price.
Here on a excursion from a cruise ship. Interesting in a historic sense of cacao and how it help shape the new world and historical events. Lots of information, demonstration of how chocolate was made/processed in the past. Sample of chocolate molay on a corn tortilla, samples of various flavors of chocolate. Can even get a chocolate margarita. Clean restrooms here. Lots of parking. Will try to get you to purchase photos, be aware!
We did the margarita class and it was great. The highlight of the day and the part that made it memorable was Eduardo our guide, he was amazing at his job, he knew everything you could want to know about chocolate, Mayan history and of course tequila, just a great guy all around. Definitely go by here for a tour or if you’re on a cruise ship they do them here too. Maybe if you’re lucky you’ll get Eduardo.
We toured most of the facility with a guide hired by our cruise ship (Alan), learning the history of choclate, and tasted some mole, before seeing a traditional chocolate making demonstration performed by Pati. She has fantastic energy and got the whole room excited. The actual choclate was also delicious, and we bought some to share with our family. It was very well received.
Had a great time here! Came before the large cruise ship crowd. Paty, our guide, was very knowledgeable and made us feel like VIP. Amazing, unique chocolate flavors!

What a great place. Beautiful beach view. You are literally sitting, eating, and drinking on the beach. Great local food and drinks. Great place for snorkeling as well. Amazing spot, worth visiting.
The chicken tacos with queso were fantastic and the view was absolutely beautiful. Staff always pleasant and the food was plentiful.
When you think of those movies where the character escapes to Mexico with some money and tries to start a new life at some random beach far away from people, you think of this spot. Magnificent place, very raw and beautiful, the water is crystal clear and clean, sound of the waves, very simple restaurant with delicious food and good service. You feel just right being away from the town, in peace and resting. We took a couple of beers while waiting for the food, and chilled in the shallow water for a while just enjoying what we see. 10/10 would recommend to anyone to make a stop here for an hour or two, swim a bit, and grab some drink and food and just enjoy .
We were exploring the island during a bit of a windy and wavy day, but as soon as we reached the more sheltered Chen Rio we found calm waters to swim, soft sand to relax on, some establishments, and this really nice lifeguard hut that pops. Whoever built that hut made a good call. It really adds to the scenery
Rented a car while on a cruise stop and ended up here. Lovely place to spend some time. Nice atmosphere and nice food with the feet in the sand
There was SO much trash at this beach. I fished out multiple pieces of plastic bags from the water. There is a ton of plastic trash tangled in the sargassum in January! It doesn't help that there aren't trash cans nearby despite a restaurant being basically on the beach. I thought I found the underbelly of a turtle shell in the sand - nope, a giant piece of plastic. The business running the area needs to clean this place up as do the people leaving trash on the beach. I did see some tiny fish swimming amongst the rocks. Visited January 2025
Make this your first stop. Best "Free Beach" on the island. Bring you snacks, drinks and enjoy this beach. If you have little ones, this beach is ideal since it has a natural kiddy pool. There's a small restaurant / bar here as well. Bring cash...no Internet on this side of the island. (That means no credit cards). Great beach for pictures as well.
Great beach . We rented a car for a day to explore the island but ended up staying here all day. Little beach bar at the end of the beach serving drinks and food.

Great little spot just south of city center. You will need a taxi, scooter or car though. Very quiet and easy access to snorkeling. Snorkeling is good, not great, but good with easy access. Super friendly and helpful staff. Very clean restrooms. Ceviche was fantastic. Prices are a bit steep but portions are generous and food is good. Snorkels, masks and fins available for rent. For something close, beautiful and quiet this is a no brainer. Can’t wait to come back.
Our excursion was canceled so we took a taxi here for $15. You either pay $10 a person to use their facilities and beach access or just spend $15 per person in food and drinks to use their facilities. The service was very good. The food and drinks were good, but it is over priced. Food portions are small for the price. But, we had a great relaxing time and even went snorkeling (rented equipment from them) and saw barracuda, sting ray, lots of fish. I would come back again if I was in the area.
We were looking for a place that the kids could snorkel - we weren’t sure where to go that had availability since it was a very busy tourist day and we didn’t “plan”. We ended up finding this place a it was one of the closer ones compared to others to cruise port - and it was great. It wasn’t busy at all - the highlight was the snorkeling and gorgeous waters - they have good drinks, the customer service was wonderful, super sweet people. This is a very, very causal area that you can get in snorkeling, good drinks (unfortunately we didn’t have time to eat there but food looks great on reviews!) - and just do some relaxing in a quiet setting without the hustle and bustle. There are a bunch of other places with more amenities or more updated outdoor furniture, but for us, the snorkeling and quiet & relaxing atmosphere + great service was enough to make this an enjoyable stop!
Monica and her staff were outstanding!! They made us feel right at home and they even took time to help us start our motor bike!! The facility was clean and accessible!!! It was really relaxing and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an off the road getaway!!
Delicious food and incredible snorkelling. They also do snorkel rentals here if needed. Removed one star because there is both an entrance fee and a minimum spend at the restaurant if you want to eat and you can find similar snorkeling elsewhere while only paying for food. Highly recommend it for incredible views and food overall! We got the shrimp tacos, steak fajitas, margaritas, and horchata.
Let's be clear: there's nothing fancy about this place. What you'll get: an awesome place to snorkel from the beach. Friendly service. A pup to tide you over from missing the pups you left back home ( shout-out to Rems and Belly!). Cold beer and a delicious Pina colada. What you won't get? Some bs flat rate and people hustling you to buy stuff. We've been coming here for over
This is one of my very favorite beaches. The snorkeling is great and there are beautiful fan corals to the right, close to the shore. It’s calm, peaceful and very relaxing. The hammocks are in the perfect locations too! There is a minimum charge I think.
This is our perfect haven! It is quiet, no music or loud bar atmosphere. The view is spectacular and the family owned business is perfect 🥰. This is a great place to relax enjoy the beach and learn to snorkel. They rent snorkel gear if you need it. The snorkeling here is beginner friendly. There is a beautiful marine conservation happening for the reef.
