The veg on my son's meal looked extremely overcooked, he didn't eat the peas and I don't blame him, I shared some of my meal with him which was fine! Nobody checked on our food and after sitting at the table with stacked plates for a good 15/20minutes we got up and requested our bill from the only member of staff who seemed to care about customer service (receipt says Peter so I hope that's the right guy) who apologised for the delay. The additional drink had been added to the bill but never brought to the table so that went back to the hotel. Whilst paying I overheard the man who started our experience say 'I am done with Sundays' which just about sums up our experience of the pub! Very disappointing experience for a half term break, the only saving grace for the place was Peter! In contrast to dinner, breakfast was great! June was absolutely lovely and made us both feel very welcome! An asset to your team! We were spoilt for choice with options, the hot breakfast took a little while to come but June kept us updated, and with the continental breakfast buffet available my son was kept more than happy whilst we waited! There was a fab range of options that was kept topped up throughout! 4.5/5 I would return for breakfast, but certainly wouldn't bother with dinner! We waited maybe 30 minutes for our plates to be taken after we finished eating and maybe another 10 minutes for the pudding menu both of which we had to ask for in the end so over a quarter of our two hours was wasted waiting. After we had received the pudding menu, about 10 minutes later again, one of the waiters came to our table which we thought was about to taking our pudding order but instead told us there were people waiting for our table so we couldn’t have pudding. We tried to explain the fact that we understood there’s a two hour table limit but if the service was quicker it wouldn’t of been an issue but we may as well have been talking to ourselves because they didn’t listen and basically kept reiterating they need the table.
