Californian restaurant
Las Brisas is a Mexican seafood restaurant and brunch spot known for its ocean views and outdoor patio. It is perched high above the beach's promenade, offering a menu specializing in seafood-focused Mexican fare and breakfast. The restaurant offers standout dishes such as the crab omelet, smoked salmon tostadas, and lobster eggs Benedict.
We went to Las Brisas for lunch and had a really great time! The view is absolutely incredible—honestly, probably the best ocean view we’ve experienced at any restaurant in Laguna Beach. It’s such a beautiful spot, and it’s right next to a lovely rose garden which adds to the whole experience. The food is Mexican-influenced—nothing too impressive taste-wise, but still decent. That said, the atmosphere, the service, and that view totally make up for it. I’m giving it five stars for the overall vibe. Perfect place if you’re looking for a scenic, relaxing lunch spot.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience… our server did an awesome job checked up on us regularly and was very friendly I wish I could remember his name he went as far to help me push my chair in and other guests… just a kind person. All of the staff seemed kind just a great atmosphere overall people make you feel welcomed. And the food did not take long we started with a charcuterie board appetizer and that easy delicious!! Only complaint the bread was crunchy which I don’t prefer but the food was all great I got the poke bowl appetizer as a meal but the portion was large. The view was great. Thank you guys !

What a great place to celebrate a birthday! The ambiance is so lovely! We sat inside with beautiful views of the ocean. Outside seating is also available, with heat lamps. I would say service was excellent. Food presentation was beautiful. But the only complaint I had was that my roast chicken, one piece came to me lukewarm and the other piece was not even warm. That was quite a disappointment. Everything else was really great. They even served a cheesecake slice to celebrate the birthday. For 3 people we spent about $250, with tip, $300 (2 appetizers, 1 alcoholic drink, 3 main entrees). Also, there is valet service if you can't find street parking.
Beena M — Google review
We wanted a nice lunch with an Ocean view. Las Brisas was recommended and it met the criteria. We were seated outside with minimal weight and a nice view of the ocean. Service was prompt. We ordered the “table side guacamole “ which was not prepared table side “as you like it” with no explanation of why not. A point off for that. The margaritas were fresh tasting and nicely garnished. A “zero proof” mocktail had great grapefruit flavor and a dried grapefruit garnish. Lunch was mushroom tacos for one of us, a salad with salmon for me, and 3 sides for our third. Glazed carrots, beautiful baby carrots with the tops, honied and spicy, and rice and beans. The tacos were served on blue corn tortillas, obviously homemade and delicious. The salad was fresh and good, with about a 4 oz piece of salmon. Reasonable for the price. Overall a great lunch, upscale treat in a gorgeous spot.
Guilderlandguy — Google review
Las Brisas in Laguna was a full-on experience. We came with a big group to celebrate my business partner’s birthday and not one person had a bad thing to say about the flavor of the food. We were all starving to begin with, so when the tortilla chips, salsa, and bean dip hit the table, it was game over. I’m not even exaggerating when I say the salsa and bean dip stole the show. We kept ordering more because it was just that good and addictive. I ordered the mole enchiladas and the flavor was right on. Rich, bold mole with a nice creamy topping and a little sprinkle of something crunchy on top that added texture. My only real complaint was the portion size for the price. For around forty bucks, I expected something a little more filling. A few others in our group felt the same with their entrees like the shrimp dish and ahi tuna. Flavor was there, just not enough food. One friend ordered the short ribs and those were a big win. He was stoked with how tender they were and how well the sauce came through. All that said, the view here is absolutely unmatched. You are right there with the waves crashing in the background and that perfect ocean breeze. The ambiance alone makes this a spot worth checking out, especially for a celebration or date night. Just be ready to spend and maybe grab dessert somewhere after if you’re still hungry.
Mitchell N — Google review
Outstanding dining experience overall. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time and requesting outdoor, ocean-view dining. All of the food that I tried was fantastic: chips & guac, charcuterie, shrimp cocktail. The service was great, and the view was phenomenal. Valet parking is $10, and metered parking across the street is pretty cheap. You can exit the back of the restaurant and take a walk along the beach or to nearby gift shops.
Jen N — Google review
Food was good- selectively, I liked my partners food more than mine which is a no brainer. Although charcuterie board was a little small for the price it was enjoyable, worth the buck for the experience and ambience. Customer service was great too, overall not too bad experience, it's a nice restaurant with a good view of the ocean.
Dj E — Google review
Went here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Parking was a bit of a hassle—paid street parking only, and I had to park quite far and walk. The menu itself felt pretty average, nothing that really stood out. That said, the service was excellent, and the overall atmosphere made up for it. Loved the seating with a beautiful view of Laguna Beach—great spot to just sit back and enjoy the view.

Driftwood Kitchen is a seaside restaurant in Laguna Beach offering a menu featuring steaks, seafood, and New American cuisine. The open and airy dining room provides stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, creating a breezy and relaxing atmosphere. Decorated in whites and beiges with sea foam-colored accents, the restaurant exudes an ocean vibe with its charming decor including starfish, netting, and seashells on the tables.
Beautiful ocean views and a great spot for brunch or lunch! The clam chowder was delicious, and they let us bring our own wine for a $25 corkage fee. I loved the crab eggs benedict, and the oysters were super fresh. All the egg dishes were tasty, though the coffee have room for improvement could be stronger and taste better kind of match the restaurant class ! Service was kind and welcoming. Parking is the downside ,valet is expensive, and we ended up spending $65 for the day. Still, highly recommend for the food, views, and overall experience!

Beautiful spot with an amazing ocean view! Our server Bianca was super sweet and made us feel very welcome. The cocktails and blueberry pancakes were great, and my daughter enjoyed her eggs and potatoes. I ordered the veggie hash and was disappointed to find it had a cashew cream sauce that wasn’t listed on the menu—it totally overpowered the dish and wasn’t to my taste. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would come back for the atmosphere, drinks, and service.
Annette M — Google review
Had a clam chowder cup and it was very good. Tasted fresh and creamy. The French fries were nice and crispy on the outside and the ranch was amazing. Made in house and different. The view was nice also. The things I didn’t love was that it was a little confusing to find, it was all valet parking and everything was expensive.
Elle — Google review
Our breakfast at Driftwood Kitchen in Laguna Beach was a letdown. Despite 80% of the tables being open, we were stuck waiting 30 minutes to be seated, which was frustrating and unnecessary. The hostess seemed disorganized and could benefit from better training to manage the seating process efficiently. The servers appeared bored with nothing to do, as most tables were empty, yet the service was surprisingly slow. The oceanfront atmosphere was beautiful, and the breakfast menu had potential, but the poor customer service and long wait overshadowed the dining experience. For a Laguna Beach restaurant known for its coastal dining, I expected better hospitality. Hopefully, they improve their service flow for future guests.
Caldie — Google review
Great views of you get a table outside but good food. Started with the Parker house roll which came out warm and was standard. Also had the grilled Thai prawns to start. Probably the tastiest thing we ordered. Went with the lamb chops and steak for mains. Both absolutely tasty and would recommend. They also had a children’s menu that you can request for. My nephew had chicken fingers and fries. We had the fingerling potatoes as a side as we weirdly weren’t able to order a side of fries because that wasn’t allowed. Desserts were okay. Had the bread pudding and churro doughnuts. Service wasn’t the best, very slow but it was a full house.
Lolita L — Google review
Outstanding food and atmosphere with a view to the ocean/beach. The eggwhite omelet and the steak were delicious. Clam chowder was great as well. I also enjoyed the brownie dessert with coffee ☕️

Came here to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary and had a wonderful brunch with a even better view our server Bianca was so wonderful and even brought us a complimentary desert, we will DEFINITELY be coming back for more anniversaries to come. 100% must visit restaurant.

New American restaurant
Sapphire is a restaurant in Laguna Beach that offers globally inspired New American cuisine in a Craftsman-style setting with outdoor seating. The restaurant is known for its casual comfort food and serves brunch every day of the week, featuring dishes like smoked salmon and fromage blanc omelet, farmers market vegetable scramble, Kurobuta pork belly Benedict, Meyer lemon cre fraiche waffles, and Nutella waffles.
Everything was fantastic! Service was fast and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. The schnitzel was absolutely perfect — crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. My wife had the salmon Benedict and was genuinely impressed — generous portion and cooked just right. I went for an almond milk latte, which was another highlight. And make sure to save room for dessert — the crème brûlée was the perfect sweet ending!

Went here to celebrate our engagement and they were awesome. The team treated us so well and even the owner visited our table to personally greet us and congratulate us. The food was fantastic, from the appetizer to the entree. They gave us complimentary champagne, appetizer and desert to enjoy our lovely night here. The view is so nice here as well! Def sit in the outdoor dining area. Thank you Sapphire team for treating us so well on our special day!
Yacdiel R — Google review
I wish I could give a review on just the burger, which was perfection, but it was the way that we were greeted at the door, seated at our table, the way that our waitress introduced herself, and was so patient with all of us at the table, the warmth of the manager, and the way the entire staff worked together as a team, because that kind of warmth makes the food taste even better. We came to Sapphire for happy hour, and really everything was delicious, but that burger was made to perfection, the cheese melted perfectly, and the waitress came by to make sure that it was just exactly as I wished it to be. So if you’re looking for one of the best burgers, if not possibly THE best juicy thick cheesy burger in all of Laguna Beach, look no further than Sapphire! PS, I have tons of video and photos of just how exceptional everything at our table was!
Nicole K — Google review
beautiful ocean view and great location. The menu was pretty standard overall. Halibut was just okay, burger was average, but the ceviche was fresh and flavorful.
Sahar M — Google review
We really enjoyed this place! The portions were absolutely huge and incredibly delicious. We even managed to sit at that corner table, and the view of the ocean and the street behind was just stunning. So cozy, so beautiful. I would give it 100 stars out of 100! I loved it so much, thank you. The service was top-class!

Celebrated my friend's birthday here with a party of 12. We made a reservation in advance so getting set up and seated was seamless. It was a beautiful day in Laguna Beach which made for a perfect day for dining out on the patio. It was Sunday brunch but I opted to steer towards the "unch" side and got their BLT w/ fries. It was a massive portion and I managed to only tuck into half of it. It was very good w/ generous slices of bacon. Our server was super nice and accommodating to guests in our group that arrived later and made sure everyone had drinks, food order taken, etc. Our table also got complimentary elderberry tequila (I think?) shots which was so nice of them. Overall, I would definitely return to Sapphire for the great food and service.
Julie B — Google review
Where to begin! From Greg and Sal who provide the friendliest warm welcome on arrival, to all the members of the staff, I've never felt so at home at a restuarant. The atmosphere (especially at sunset) is incredible and the food and cocktails are out of this world. Since moving to the SoCal area in 2024, this has quickly risen to a favorite (almost weekly) spot and they keep leveling up with the monthly specials. Thank you for bringing such a chill vibe with some of the best food and drinks in the region. We have brought so many guests since moving here and they are never disappointed! See you all soon. 🥰
Michael N — Google review
We arrived on a Saturday evening. The dishes from the soup of the day to the halibut were divine. We had reservations and were seated quickly. We sat indoors. Why people prefer to sit outdoors in view of the PCH is a mystery. However, the table service was mechanical and poor. The bathroom was near filthy. Waitering is a hospitality skill which combines customer service with entertainment. This we did NOT receive. The cleanliness of any restaurant is both a sign of quality and pride.

Anastasia Cafe is a trendy breakfast spot located on the corner of Ocean Avenue near city hall in Laguna Beach. It's a local favorite known for its fresh California/French cuisine and cool, buzzy atmosphere with a patio. The cafe has been around for about 20 years and is adjacent to the Anastasia Boutique, offering designer fashions. They serve gourmet omelets, sandwiches, and various coffee drinks.
Beautiful spot to sit down and have lunch. Everything is made in house, fresh and delicious. Pesto chicken sandwich was fire 🔥 Would definitely return the next time in the area.

A nice small café with a boutique attached. It felt to me like an original breakfast place with unique menu items. Your order at the counter where you can also see the daily specials, and then you sit where you want. The food actually came pretty fast. The hot chocolate was nice - it wasn’t too thick and didn’t seem over sweet. The foam was actually nice to have! There is an effort in presentation as you can see from the pictures. We all liked it. I tried a bit of the swedish pancakes, it is very sweet and heavy as you can expect, but enjoyable! The Eggs Anna were definitely original with that sauce. It was very interesting. I’m not gonna say it’s the best thing I ever had, but it was good. It was farmers’ market, but we didn’t struggle to find a place to sit. For parking, you need to find in the city - but, the place is not far from the main areas, so convenient. You just walk a few blocks. Overall, a cool spot - we were not sure where to go and wanted a more local place. So, I guess we found it!

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the vegetable omelet at Anastasia Cafe, and it was nothing short of delightful! The omelet was perfectly fluffy and cooked to golden-brown perfection, showcasing a vibrant mix of fresh vegetables. Each bite was a burst of flavor, with the spinach, bell peppers, and onions harmonizing beautifully. Accompanied by a colorful array of sides, including sweet cantaloupe and refreshing banana slices, the presentation was as inviting as the taste. The use of high-quality ingredients was evident, making this dish not only satisfying but also nutritious. The atmosphere of the cafe added to the experience, with its cozy ambiance and friendly service. If you’re looking for a wholesome and delicious breakfast option, I highly recommend the vegetable omelet at Anastasia Cafe. It’s a perfect way to start your day!

The service was so fast. Our order was out in 10 minutes. I ordered the Eggs Anna. I could have enjoyed it much more if they would have added more thyme sauce… but I’m sure they would have provided that had I requested it ;) Overall it was a lovely experience with my gfs!

Orange Inn is a vibrant and cozy cafe that has been a staple along California's Pacific Coast Highway since 1931. Originally a refreshment stop for Irvine Ranch cowboys, it has evolved into a popular dining spot known for its burgers, sandwiches, vegetarian dishes, breakfast options, and original fruit smoothies. The cafe gained fame for its fresh hand-squeezed orange juice and organic coffees.
Best beach restaurant I have ever been to. Been here a few times over the years and have never had bad experiences. Very good food and a great selection. We had the O.I. Breakfast plate. Scrambled egg, potatoes, English muffin, orange slice. The egg was made perfectly with minimal seasoning. The potatoes were also cooked perfectly with a bit of salt and garlic. Not over seasoned which I dislike. I wish to taste only good food. Even the orange slice was fantastic. The staff are efficient and cordial. If you want great food at a very reasonable price then stop here

What an amazing place the food was fantastic. The people were very nice and friendly. We got the ham and cheese with egg croissant and also the spinach cheese and egg croissant. Both were flaky and delicious. Additionally, we got an orange muffin which we just flat out loved. They had a little patio in the back where you gonna dine with your little pup.

Super cool breakfast diner, M-F from 6am-3pm! Right off the beach and fast service. Their veggie avocado sandwich on sourdough paired with the California date shake was so delicious. The building is cute with lots to look at. Old history tidbits, photos, art pieces, surfboards on the ceiling and just an overall awesome vibe! I really enjoyed my experience. Would love to come back and try more items Cheers 🍊🏄‍♀️🌊

From a beachfront lodge with a private beach in Laguna Beach, it was only a 2-minute walk. The café opens early in the morning and offers a wide variety of menu items, all of which were hearty and delicious. It has even been recognized in the past as a top beach café, and I could see why it’s so loved by the locals. A cozy spot with the perfect atmosphere for Laguna Beach.

I stopped by the outdoor counter and very picked up an iced pumpkin spice latte and an orange muffin. Service was great and my latte was made quickly to perfection. That was honestly ine of the best PSLs I've ever had. The muffin had a nice flavor as well. Very tasty.

First time customer. I’ll touch on the service first. It’s Labor Day today, the little spot was full, line of people, and the service was impeccable. The staff was moving! Getting people’s order in and out of the kitchen quickly. All while still taking the time at the counter to explain the favorites to us. Now the food. We had the breakfast burrito with sausage, huevos bodreros, strawberry shake, banana shake, coffee, strawberry and jam sandwich , and cinnamon roll. The breakfast burrito was by far the best breakfast burrito I have ever had. It was perfect. Refried beans with cheese, egg, and avocado. A little tapatio packet it came with was the cherry on top. I had to stop the guy helping us on the way out to let him know how good it was. Everything else was fantastic. The coffee was so good , next time I’ll buy some of their coffee beans they have for sale. The shakes were tasty, not too sweet, just perfect. Getting a table can be a little challenging since it’s a small spot, but the size of the shop just adds to the appeal. I’m sure the workers are compensated ok because they were hustling and they were happy. But if the owner reads this, and is maybe thinking of giving them wage raises or bonuses or something…do it. Your staff just won you two return customer.

Penguin Cafe is a charming and cozy throwback diner located in Laguna Beach. This family-owned eatery has been serving up delicious homestyle breakfast classics for over 40 years. The cafe offers a nostalgic atmosphere with its old-school beach town vibe, complete with a classic American breakfast menu featuring dishes like corned beef hash and French toast.
Very nice breakfast. I’m usually a very nutrition conscious person (I came up with the ServingScore app), but I like to go off-road sometimes and eat a good traditional breakfast. Here, you are 1 block from the beach, can sit outside, be offered extra coffee a lot, and get a great price meal that is tasty. Enjoy!

This was a great little spot to stumble upon! I'd love to visit again on my next trip and try a different menu option or risk trying another benedict. I’m SUCH a benedict girly, but the California Benedict had overly frothy hollandaise with not much flavor which was a huge bummer. Maybe I just came on an off day. Overall, great service and quick delivery of food.

Always a great time with Sabrina at the Penguin. I stumbled on this great old school diner when I first moved to Laguna almost a decade ago. You can never go wrong with the French Toast, and who doesn’t love pancakes (especially blueberry pancakes). Omelettes are always my go to item (be it ham and cheese blend or the chili cheese), always get the tortillas and make my own little breakfast tacos (the BEST salsa). You’ve got booths and tables, outdoor seating, and my favorite spot, the counter. There’s a sign-in sheet at the door for when they are busier, but it’s not a long wait, friendly and efficient service. Large parties can be accommodated. It’s what small town dining is all about. A treasure in Laguna, a glimpse of the laid back, small town life most residents enjoy. There’s street parking in front and on side streets, and a small parking lot in back. If you’re looking for a little more space away from people while your eating, just place your order, grab a cup of coffee, and walk down to the sand to enjoy a calming oceanview...a little vitamin sea. A local Laguna Beach hole in the wall. As others have noted, extremely friendly and quick service. It looked like it is frequented by regulars, which is always a good sign. I loved the sunrise melt and blueberry pancakes, but not a huge fan of the potatoes. Overall, I would highly recommend the place.

Wonderful little Cafe in downtown Laguna, south of the strand. I'm rating this as an inexpensive cafe, so 5 stars for food is relative to its status and pricing. For $20 dollars my wife and I were filled up on a bacon and turkey club, fries and ice tea. Pretty hard to find among the establishments along the coast. Great service.

Splashes Restaurant, located within the Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, offers a remarkable dining experience with its oceanfront setting and shaded patios. The restaurant boasts stunning views of the ocean and provides an ideal backdrop for a romantic dinner or a leisurely lunch by the sea. Guests praise not only the mesmerizing sunset views and crashing waves but also the diverse Mediterranean-inspired cuisine that caters to various dietary needs.
The view is incredible and romantic! The food was just so so, but overall still a very great place to go! Our waiter Patrick was also very nice

This is really the only dining option on site at Surf and Sand resort in Laguna Beach. The entire property had a recent renovation and it really shines. Splashes offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in their dining room, patio and also downstairs in the bar. Some of the servers and bartenders have been on staff over 20 years and it shows in the outstanding service. For breakfast the steak and eggs is a winner, very tender. The breakfast burrito was very tasty and crab benedict seemed to be very popular. For the octopus app was nice and crisp with good flavor. The chicken sandwich was juicy and very satisfying and the fries were amazing. The space does tend to get very crowded at peak times and reservations are highly encouraged. The bar area is first come first served so you just have to wait for something to open up. The views are stunning and the sunsets enhance the beautiful dining room with warm natural light. If you are staying at Surf and Sand you have to try Splashes.. the views are amazing and the food is worth trying to get a table.

Great views, good food and service. We went for brunch. I got the avocado toast, coffee and cocktails. Everything was tasty and right temperature. Service was very good. For parking we couldn’t find anything available on the street so we did valet, price was 10 dlls.

i came here for my friends birthday dinner after having it on my list of ocean view restaurants to try in laguna. i was very surprised at the quality of the food! everything tasted great and super fresh. we got mussels, branzino, and bread which was very soft and went well with the mussel soup. of course the star of the show was the sunset! they gave us a free crème brûlée as well. great service too we always felt attended too which i can’t say for other luxury restaurants! will be back!

It's always a great pleasure visiting Splashes, and now the hotel is renovated, it's even more stunning. The menu continues to be amazing with high quality dishes. The Spanish octopus and peach/ burrata salad were phenomenal. We also had the bacon/fig flatbread, which was really good as well. I had a cocktail, the Blue Reef, which blew my mind. We sat in the bar area, which has the best views. The staff there is absolutely fantastic.

Absolutely delicious restaurant! A must when in Laguna! The food is phenomenal and Michelin standard, it’s just so flavourful and vibrant. We had the hamachi crudo, the oyster trio, the octopus, filet mignon, pasta and halibut! All presented and made in ways you would never think. Also the chocolate “popsicle” desert was INSANE. Perfect ending to an amazing meal! Let’s not forget the impeccable seaside views and seating. A magical evening!

La Sirena Grill is a family-owned Mexican restaurant that prides itself on using organic produce and all-natural meats in their menu. While some customers have experienced issues with service, others have raved about the delicious food, generous portions, and friendly staff. **"Must-Try Salmon Tacos in Aliso Beach"** These $5.50 grilled salmon tacos are the real deal. Perfectly cooked fish, fresh toppings, and generous portions - two will keep you satisfied for hours. The flavor combination is spot on. They offer a solid selection of local craft beers that pair well with the food. Great spot when you need: ✓ Quick, tasty meal ✓ Quality ingredients ✓ Good beer options

This is how they serve their nachos? The menu lists grilled carne asada (grass-fed beef), chips, jack cheese, pinto beans, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo—but where were the guacamole, sour cream, and pico? When we politely asked for the missing items, the staff was surprisingly rude about it. Disappointing experience.

My favorite place to eat in Laguna Beach. I love the aoli sauce on anything. And the chicken burritos are definately a go to. And the spicy margaritas are my favorite drinks there. I have been coming here for last 20 plus years.

The food choices were plenty and delicious. The fish tacos were fresh, the quesadilla was full of flavor. The salsa is available at a self serve bar. The spicy margarita is worth a try and has a good kick to it.

Great little spot, we came for the sushi place and it was closed until 5pm, so we had some spicy mango margaritas and they were delicious. I had one fish taco, it was super big. The salsas are so good, the queimada is very tasty, the green salsa is very tangy. I will be back for sure!

At Harvest, the signature dining spot at The Ranch at Laguna Beach, guests are treated to a delightful menu that showcases California comfort food in an inviting atmosphere complete with a cozy stone fireplace. One standout dish is their breakfast toast, featuring a hearty slice of rustic sourdough topped with whipped Boursin cheese, creamy Hass avocado, onion jam, and a perfectly fried egg. Finished off with pickled fresno chiles and fresh cilantro, this dish embodies the vibrant flavors of the region.
This place is gorgeous. Came here because I wanted breakfast, and the reviews were excellent. So decided to take a chance. That chance was the best decision. Service is amazing. Coffee was hot and fresh. Everyone is very nice, super friendly. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is so inviting and warm. They have this cinnamon roll that incredible!!!! Never in my wildest dreams would I pay $23 for a cinnamon roll, but today was a different story. I just had to. If you come across this review, you HAVE to come here and eat. It's definitely worth it.

Beautiful restaurant - both outside/surrounding as well as inside. Delicious food options: I opted for the California Chicken Club Sandwich with fries. However, there are so many other tempting options that I’d have to come back for! Our server, Siri, was very friendly & helpful. The atmosphere and the views are just unmatched. Definitely make time to grab some breakfast or brunch here!

Great breakfast out on the scenic patio overlooking the golf course and gorgeous views of the canyon. The food was farm to table fresh. Service was awesome. Ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage, and it was delicious. Biscuits were fluffy and moist. Loved the gravy, too. My spouse ordered the breakfast burrito and highly recommend too. Fresh press juice was a fresh option that was nice as well.

While staying a few days at The Ranch at LB recently, we had both breakfast and dinner at Harvest. First of all, I was impressed with all the restaurant staff we encountered - they are friendly, professional, and go out of their way to make everything special. Special shout out to our server, Daniel at breakfast. We both had the caramelized onion/squash quiche and we just had to experience a $23 cinnamon roll! It was nearly the size of a dinner plate with cream cheese topping, candied bacon and a ton of syrup. The cream cheese on top was a great addition, but I could have done without the candied bacon or maybe just regular crispy bacon bits - I thought it was way too sweet. But that's me...my hubby thought it was perfect as is lol! For dinner, we had great cocktails at the bar and the hostess was so accommodating when we arrived without a reservation. While we were happy to grab seats at the bar and order a meal there, she was able to find us a table by the time we finished drinks and were about to order. My salmon dish was perfectly prepared and so yummy, and my husband enjoyed the pork chop that our server recommended. The ambiance of the restaurant is awesome and the views are incredible. So an A+ for food, ambiance and service - we'd definitely return.

What fun! We took the Thursday tour of the organic garden on the back of the 76 acre compound of The Ranch in Laguna. INSPIRING! The produce is used in the Harvest restaurant. The property is unbelievable with a 9 hole golf course, pool and hotel rooms. The food was filled with amazing flavors and fresh food.

We visited The Ranch on a busy Saturday evening without a reservation, and to our pleasant surprise, the staff welcomed us warmly and offered us seats at the bar. Their friendly and accommodating attitude set the tone for a great experience from the start. The vibe at the bar was fantastic — lively yet comfortable. It felt like the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a good glass of wine. We decided to go for a wine and cheese platter, and it was absolutely delicious. The rest of the food was tasty and well-prepared.

Every dish was amazing. The duck was well seasoned and not dry as typically in other restaurants. The tuna bow was the best tuna I’ve ever tried.
Roman P — Google review
The place, food, and service were great. However, I would give the valet 1 star for leaving all the windows down on a luxury vehicle while it was parked just 10–15 feet away from someone cutting grass. Extremely thoughtless. When I asked about it, the valet said they left the keys inside so the car wouldn’t get locked. But what’s the point of valet service if you’re leaving the keys inside and all the windows down? I wouldn’t trust them with my vehicle again. I didn’t realize my car was being offered to the public for free while I was dining inside. Thanks to the open windows, the entire dashboard was covered in dust by the time I returned.

Whether you visit for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the restaurant promises a luxury dining experience with live music and breathtaking ocean vistas. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was great. We arrived without a reservation and were told it’s an hour and a half wait. We found a great bar behind the main restaurant which is still part of the same restaurant where they serve. Live music and the atmosphere was wonderful. highly recommend.

Every time we come into Laguna Beach, we go to the cliff restaurant first for the food and service it also since it’s very dog friendly with a dog menu. They have live music right outside. As spectacular views of the sunset. Steven, our server was fantastic and the food was amazing as always. It may be a little bit costly but well worth it. Yesterday we went for just appetizers and today we went for a full meal. That’s how much we enjoy this place. Our pup extremely enjoyed her chicken breast with rice.

Very good Halibut Fish and Chips (I subbed in onion rings). The fish tacos were good as well but not the best I've had (4/5). I'd definitely come back here and next time make sure I reserve a table to have a better view!

The food - amazing. The drinks - amazing. The service - amazing. The view - also amazing LOL. Tara was such a great server, so friendly and sweet and everything she recommended was so good! The only thing I will say (but this is not a reason to not come here immediately) is that for the price, I’d expect better/nicer tables and chairs… but truly not a deal breaker for this place.

We had a fantastic lunch at The Cliff! The oceanfront view is absolutely breathtaking dining under the blue umbrellas with the sound of waves crashing below made it such a relaxing and memorable afternoon. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered the crispy calamari, which was perfectly cooked and served with tasty sauces and a squeeze of lemon so good! We also had creamy shrimp pasta and penne with marinara, both flavorful and satisfying. The refreshing drinks were the perfect touch for a sunny beachside lunch. One tip: Make sure to make a reservation or join the waitlist ahead of time. especially on weekends we were on the waiting list for 2 hours, but it was definitely worth it!
Siwar B — Google review
It wasn’t bad, but I am not sure I want to come back. I don’t like that calamari is a thick piece sliced into strips in a thickly breaded crust. Fish and chips were average.

Absolutely stunning experience! 🌅 The view at The Cliff is spectacularly awesome — the oceanfront setting alone is worth the visit. Watching the sunset from our table felt like something out of a dream. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, and the service was friendly and attentive. Such a perfect spot for a relaxing meal with breathtaking scenery. Can’t wait to come back!

No more seafood tower. Waaagh! At least "The Clffdiver" bloody mary cocktail is still brimming with bacon, a shrimp and a claw. The Alaskan Halibut substitute for cod is a good thing. The Shrimp Cocktail was filled with cabbage upon which the cocktail sauce was poured and I wonder who thought of that because I didn't want to have cabbage in my shrimp cocktail and now I have so little sauce that my shrimp could be dunked. Scraped it off the cabbage best I could but what little I could extract was made watery for the effort. Sadly this is a departure from the norm for both the dish and the restaurant.

C'est La Vie is a charming cafe and bakery that offers stunning ocean views to accompany its delectable pastries, savory French dishes, and a well-stocked bar. Established in 1982, this restaurant has been providing an authentic French dining experience for owners of luxury homes in Laguna Beach.
We had breakfast at a charming spot in Laguna Beach called C’est La Vie — and the interior is straight out of a fairytale. Think pink chairs and a dreamy, princess-like vibe. I loved it! We sat outside since the weather was perfect, and when we arrived around 8:30 a.m., it was quiet and peaceful. By 10 a.m., the place was packed. The bakery items were pretty good. I ordered the lobster eggs Benedict, which were tasty, although the muffins were super tough to cut through. My husband had sunny-side-up eggs with sausages — he said the sausages tasted a little off, but otherwise it was fine. One thing to note: they have free parking in the back, which we only found out after paying for street parking. So if you’re going, skip the meters and park in the back! Overall, it’s not the best food we’ve ever had, but the ambiance is lovely, service was fast, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in Laguna Beach and want a cute breakfast spot.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this gem in Laguna Beach, and it was truly exceptional! From the moment we made our reservation, which was super easy and convenient, to the free parking spots behind the building (a rare find in Laguna Beach), everything was perfect. The view is absolutely stunning; it feels like you’re dining right next to the ocean, with a beautiful tree adding to the charm. The staff is incredibly friendly, and we were lucky to be served by Austin, who, despite being new, was outstanding and made sure we had everything we needed. As for the food, it was amazing! We started with their bisque crab soup, which was perfect for the chilly weather. The octopus was delicious and had a texture almost like chicken, and the mango dressing that came with it was so good that we asked for extra. We also tried the ahi tartare, which was delightful. And for dessert, they have an impressive selection of sweets, and if you’re celebrating a birthday, they’ll even bring out a special dessert for you. They also offer a lovely tea service with unlimited hot water, which was a perfect way to wrap up the meal. I’ve been here for brunch, lunch, and dinner, but this visit was truly exceptional. Highly recommend!

The menu is fantastic for any meal, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and they also have a full bar to round out the experience. The dining area is beautifully set up with a relaxed, upscale vibe, and the ocean views make it even more special. Perfect spot for a romantic date, brunch with friends, or just treating yourself to something amazing.

We were delighted to find a restaurant this morning that served more than just breakfast (a silly rule in many restaurants). It was pleasant to sit on the terrace, but the only annoying thing was that next to the table was a pile of dusty, apparently spare, furniture.

The elegant interior and refined atmosphere make it an ideal choice for special occasions or a relaxing indoor lunch. Wonderful evening to start our Vacation! We came right at the start of Dinner.. no reservation, no wait & the hosts were able to accommodate at the beautiful tables along the ledge! Food was excellent, service was exceptional especially Emerson (he was extremely kind). View is breathtaking.. I look forward to dining again. I recommend all dishes pictured.

I’ve been to The Loft at Montage Hotel twice now — once for lunch with my husband and once solo for dinner — and overall, it’s a beautiful spot with great food. During our first visit for lunch, we had fresh juices, the grain bowl, and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the terrace was not an option due to ongoing construction as it was very loud, which definitely took away from the experience. We were really hoping to enjoy the outdoor seating and the views. For my second visit, I came alone for dinner. Even though there were plenty of empty tables, they made me wait about 10 minutes to be seated, which felt a bit unnecessary. But once I was seated, the rest of the experience was enjoyable. I ordered the scallops — there were only three on the plate, but they were actually quite satisfying and tasted great. Definitely more on the light and elegant side. Overall, I do like this place and would come back — especially once the construction is finished. Sitting on the terrace seems like a big part of the full experience, and I’d love to enjoy it properly next time.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at The Loft for our anniversary and, by the time we left, we agreed it was one of our top 3 favorite meals we've ever had. We made a reservation for a little later in the evening so we could walk around the resort and beach area for sunset and would highly recommend it as the surrounding beaches are beautiful and picturesque. After, we sat down for dinner on the patio, and enjoyed the gorgeous view overlooking the Pacific. Robert was our waiter and was an expert at his craft. He was extremely kind, helpful, knowledgeable and couldn't have made our experience better. The food was stellar - we had the stone fruit salad, coffee crusted NY Strip and roasted carrots. They also brought us a chocolate surprise for our anniversary and we still ended up ordering another dessert because of how good everything was. We ended with the mille-feuille, which was exceptional. We both left the meal with big smiles on our faces and have been talking about it every day since. The Loft is a true accomplishment in a culinary and service experience. Thank you, Montage and Robert, for an unforgettable evening!

The loft is easily one of my favorite restaurants in SoCal. On my last trip warmly greeted and seated overlooking the pool and the ocean, the Sommelier Gary helped me and my date pick out a bottle of a fantastic Riesling and spoke with us a while about chartreuse varieties. The waiter made some recommendations including an off menu parmesan risotto which ended up ordering with a lobster tail. The foot was exceptional and the lobster Tail served over the parmesan Risotto currently lives rent free in my mind. Great experience and I found it to be great value for the service, setting and food quality they provide.

A very good experience. The food was pretty tasty, but not to the point of being as good as people let it on to be. The service was 5 stars and the atmosphere was very nice. This restaurant is located in the Montage Laguna hotel. It's on a very nice piece of property with an excellent view. However, this place does get crowded, so be aware of that. Overall - a very nice experience. I'd also make reservations well in advance for this place.

Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel. Request a seat outside for a view of the pool and ocean. Food and beverages all top notch, but what really brings it to the next level is the service. Specifically, Seth. Incredibly kind and accommodating, he always goes above and beyond to make each experience something to remember. Ruby's Diner is a '40s-style chain diner that offers classic American comfort food, including breakfast, salads, and shakes. The restaurant has a retro ambiance with classic cars parked at the entrance and caters to families with kids, offering special menus for children 12 and under. The menu features dishes like silver dollar pancakes, pigs in a blanket, turkey or beef burgers, chicken fingers, grilled cheese, and macaroni and cheese.
If you’re looking for a classic spot with amazing views, Ruby’s Diner in Laguna Beach is such a gem! We sat up on the top deck and the view was unreal — you can see the ocean stretching out forever. The food definitely hits the spot too! I have to shout out their mustard — seriously the best I’ve ever had (it sounds funny but once you try it, you’ll know what I mean 😂). And their milkshakes are on another level — super creamy and rich. This place makes for such a cute date spot, especially if you time it for golden hour. I always get the blue cheese burger - the best. Good vibes, great comfort food, and that gorgeous Laguna sunset? Perfect little beach day combo. 💛

Dry burger + fried and medium cherry coke like $23. Been here first and last time … for a diner their signature burger on sourdough with avocado was absolute garbage, fries frozen from a bag and shitty fountain drink. Seriously expected a little better. But it really sucks. Can’t believe this place is open. Hate leaving bad reviews … hate getting dry burgers more. They offered to remake it, but what’s the point? If they knew what to do they would’ve done it. Don’t need shitty undercooked burger. Anyway - go just about anywhere. Shake shack on PCH far better choice …. And I think cheaper … wow this place sucked … shockingly bad.

This place just gives off the perfect old town movie dinner vibes. Super clean and beautifully decorated! The atmosphere is there. However, the food is okay. It's like a watered-down version of In and Out. Lacks in flavor, but it makes sense since dinners were mostly for certain crowds to begin with. Even so, for what it lacks in flavor, it does make up for with the staff. They are absolutely incredible, super professional, and reliable! It's just amazing! I would recommend that everyone tries this place at least once!

I had a good experience at this cafe. The food was tasty, the deli and desert selections also looked flavorful. This is a self serve style venue with outdoor seating. I enjoy the bench seating and great outdoor weather. Not disappointed for a brunch outing on a beach day. 🏖️Our table ordered the Chilaquiles Bowl, Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and the Avocado Toast. 😊

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a design that encourages lingering over a meal or drink. My favorite is their Avocado toasts! 🥗 What to Expect * **Menu**: Zinc Café is known for its vegetarian-friendly menu, featuring dishes like the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Asparagus & Mushroom Omelet, and the Burrito Bowl. While the café has recently introduced some meat options, many patrons still enjoy the classic vegetarian offerings. * **Drinks**: The café offers a selection of cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. Popular choices include the Zinc Mezcal Margarita and the Mango Mule. Happy hour is from 4–6 PM, featuring specials on drinks and appetizers. * **Service**: While generally friendly, service can be slower during peak hours. Some guests have reported delays, especially on weekends. However, many appreciate the attentive staff and the overall dining experience. 🌿 Atmosphere The café's design emphasizes natural light and open spaces, with a mix of modern and rustic elements. The outdoor patio is particularly popular, offering a tranquil setting amidst the bustling Arts District. It's also dog-friendly, making it a great choice for pet owners. 🕒 Hours & Location * **Address**: 580 Mateo Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013 * **Hours**: Daily, 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM * **Parking**: Limited street parking is available. There are also nearby parking lots and structures, though they may charge a fee. 💬 Final Thoughts Zinc Café & Market offers a delightful dining experience with its fresh, flavorful dishes and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're stopping by for a casual meal or enjoying a leisurely brunch, it's a spot that combines good food with a great vibe.

We met up for lunch at Zinc. You order at the counter and find your seats outside in the large shaded patios. The food came out pretty quickly. Food was hit or miss. The Caesar salad with steak was very good. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. The chilaquiles bowl was a miss. The salsa was on only one side of the bowl so it was a bit dry and tasteless. It looked pretty good but was pretty unimpressive after the first bite. The omelet was huge but had way too much bacon and not enough of everything else.

Amazing place. They are known for breakfast and lunch, but we got surprised they are now open for dinner. Live music, delicious food, reasonable prices. As always they deliver.

Super cute spot with a really good vibe, definitely one of those places that feels straight out of a postcard. The food was amazing, fresh, and tasted legit. Only downside was the price, but that’s California for you. I’m from Michigan, so it felt pricey, but honestly still worth it. 4/5.

Good food, it’s not the best atmosphere, but it’s a good place to grab a quick bite, they have a lot of options. The matcha was very good. (Pictured are huevos rancheros, shrimp tacos, and middle eastern breakfast)

Moulin is a Parisian-style cafe that offers a true taste of France in California. With its glass counter displaying fresh pastries and classic plats du jour on the menu, the cafe exudes an authentic French ambiance. The founder, Laurent Vrignaud, created Moulin out of his love for the bistro culture he missed from his hometown in Montmartre, Paris.
I’m French and to be honest since I moved to Cali it’s been hard to find a legit French place. I mean an authentic tasting, no extra froufrou. Just legit great French authentic cuisine. Moulin is the first place to deliver on that note! And “cerise sur le gâteau” (yup, cherry on the cake) … several French people or French people actually worked there! The only difference with back home? I actually had great service 👀😅
Patrick V — Google review
This place is incredible! The pastries were so beautiful you almost didn’t want to eat them, almost! They tasted as amazing as they looked. My favorite by far was the lemon tart! Location and parking were easy, but do expect long lines.

This restaurant has the feel of a casual French bistro. The interior walls are decorated with a charming French-inspired design, while the patio—with its tables placed in an unstructured way—adds a touch of European character. Having lived in Italy and visited France several times, I find that this place brings back a little of that atmosphere, which is why I enjoy coming here from time to time. Most of the dishes are quite good, and I would especially recommend the desserts.

I was close by and decided to stop because of heavy rain. I am so glad I came here. Everything about my experience was amazing. The server let me pick where I wanted to sit. Service was quick and the food was delicious. I got the pork chops with apples, potatoes and green beans. So delicious and perfect for this weather. A cafe au lait rounded off the experience.
Danisecl — Google review
This is the best French café in OC, maybe even SoCal. Been coming here since the days when it was Pascal, the new management had definitely brought it up a notch or two. Their panini is out of this world, and it's not a complete visit without getting the pastries, from Kouign Amann, Baba au rhum, pear tart, croissant, macaron to finishing with cafe au lait. They also have this wonderful shop with French cookies to wine. While you're there, take advantage of the outdoor patio seating. It's not the most ideal being next to a busy parking lot, especially during the lunch rush hours.

Kid friendly. Good food all around. I was gonna grab yesterday’s day old pastries. But someone grabbed them before I could circle back and get it. Really enjoyed the Piedmontese potato salad, oxtail, and sausage. Yoghurt and eggs delicious too

Proper French bakery, which is tough to find in the U.S., but you’ll certainly pay a pretty penny for the experience. Has the vibes, the sounds, and the smells. Pastries and espresso drinks are top notch with a bit of the pretentious French attitude from the women working the cases to match!
Matthew G — Google review
Excellent! We had gone to two other French Bakeries on our OC excursion trip and then two other Moulin’s and they were closed. We found this Moulin in Newport Beach and they did not disappoint! This was by far the best French bakery than the others we have tried. We would definitely return.

Moulin is a Parisian-style café that offers a delightful experience reminiscent of France. As you enter, the aroma of freshly baked bread and the sight of rotisserie chickens create an authentic atmosphere. The café features a charming outdoor patio with wooden tables, making it perfect for a romantic evening or a leisurely picnic by the nearby beach.
Moulin is a charming little French bakery and café that we visited twice for breakfast — and overall, it’s a lovely spot to start your day. On our first visit, I had the omelette with pesto and chicken, which was flavorful and filling. My husband had a croissant with an omelette, and he really enjoyed it too. The side salad that came with both meals was surprisingly delicious — the dressing was so fresh and tasty. We also ordered cappuccinos, which were nice, but the real standout was the orange juice — seriously one of the best I’ve had! So sweet. We came back the next day and went a bit more classic — orange juice again (of course), cappuccinos, and a few pastries: an almond croissant, a regular croissant, and a sugar-dusted pastry. They were okay — not as amazing as I hoped, but still decent. I’m still curious to try their desserts — they looked beautiful in the display case. Overall, Moulin is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and craving a little French breakfast vibe. Cozy, stylish, and a nice option for a laid-back morning.

YUM!!! Delicious sandwiches - I thoroughly enjoyed their sourdough + the ingredients tasted high quality. The freshly squeezed orange juice paired with the La Mangue pastry was nice. & They have a cool grab and go area with French products and wine. Honestly, everything looked really good. It was hard to choose between it all! I also love their location, the outdoor area is cozy and perfect to relax in. Everyone was kind and the ambiance is great 🥖🌊🌴

It’s 8:55 AM on a Friday, and I want to share my ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience at Moulin after visiting for several years. I’m mentioning the time so the manager knows exactly which associate I’m referring to—a very polite, and I assume, new team member. He’s a tall brunette gentleman with a bit of a beard, and he was an absolute pleasure to interact with first thing in the morning. His chic and welcoming attitude truly stood out! While the service here is usually neutral, this experience felt exceptionally warm and different. Please extend my gratitude to him from a guest who truly appreciates the way she is treated.

Moulin in Laguna is one of those spots where every visit feels like a mini escape to France, but with a SoCal twist. I have to shout out their Caesar salad—easily one of my favorites anywhere (and if you’re in a rush, it’s a quick to-go). It comes loaded with pine nuts and that herby pesto chicken, which is such a unique touch. It’s fresh, vibrant, and just so satisfying. If you’re even half a Caesar salad snob (like me), this one will totally win you over. The mushroom and chicken egg white omelette is another go-to. It’s the kind of breakfast that makes you feel like you’re making good choices, but it’s still so hearty and packed with flavor. Super light, perfectly cooked, and never greasy—just really well done. And don’t even think about skipping the pastry case. Their almond croissant is genuinely great: flaky, generous with the filling, and not too sweet. Honestly, it’s one of those rare places where you could come just for the croissants and leave happy. The vibe is always buzzing—French café energy with a Laguna crowd, everyone from locals on laptops to tourists grabbing a treat post-beach. Service is fast and friendly, but it never feels rushed. If you haven’t tried Moulin yet, you’re missing out. This is my new Laguna staple.

Lost Pier Cafe is a charming spot located right on the sands of Laguna Beach, offering guests the chance to enjoy stunning views of the ocean while sipping on their favorite beverages or indulging in a delightful picnic on the sandy beach. The cafe also provides portable bonfire pits for visitors to gather around and enjoy live performances during weekends.
My granddaughters and I stumbled at this cafe on our way back from Newport Beach to San Diego. We enjoyed brunch by the water and were satisfied with our orders. The chicken tenders and fries were seasoned well. The granola and yogurt looked so fancy, and they were filling. We definitely will return here if we're in the area.

Been here a few times and the food is pretty decent usually, and they’ve got beers! Tried the poke bowl this time and it was pretty dang salty, just like the ocean. Come for the view and stay for a sunset, but the food can be hit or miss.

Love this place! Quality food right on the beach - I don't know of any place like this. Lived in South Laguna a couple of years ago, and always look forward to eating here when I'm in the area. Beach view from my table 😊

My husband & I walked over to the Lost Pier Cafe for breakfast. We were staying at the Ranch. It’s about a 10-minute walk. It’s on the other side of PCH. There’s a paid parking lot there, but it was filling up quickly with people going to Aliso Beach. I got a honey oat latte and avocado toast. My husband got a breakfast burrito. The food was good, but we probably wouldn’t have gone there if it hadn’t been right on the beach. You order at the window. The people who work there were friendly. The seating is all outside with a view of the ocean. There’s no indoor seating. They do have bathrooms. It’s very casual and easy to bring kids.

*Delayed post from Jan ‘25 This beach front cafe really surprised the hell out of us! This is nothing like your typical fast food beach shack. The quality of everything we ordered was very high despite its relaxed vibe directly on the beach. While the food took a little time to come out and they got one of our orders incorrect, it was well worth the wait since they cook everything fresh. There was also plenty of parking available, both metered and free for restaurant customers. The Breakfast Burrito was encased in a thick tortilla that kept all the contents nicely snug inside, but it wasn’t overly heavy. The bacon bits in the center were thick and not overcooked. The hash browns were more like Piknik potato chips than hash browns due to their crispiness, which honestly added a great texture to the burrito in comparison to undercooked potatoes that tend to cause mushiness. The tortilla chips on the side were super thin, reminiscent of Chili’s chips, but the Tajín seasoning and spicy yet tangy salsa elevates it so much. The French Toast was visually very appealing with lots of colors from the berries and a white dust of powdered sugar. I appreciated that the fruit was properly ripened, delivering flavor and sweetness with every bite, and the large amount of toasted almond slices brought in a good balance of nuttiness and crunch since the other ingredients are soft. Since they used brioche bread, the french toast itself was even eggier than normal, which I personally prefer to make it a heartier meal. The maple syrup was a classic choice, but I think a fruit reduction would have taken this to another level since the syrup is too easily absorbed and could use more moisture. The Fish and Chips was our least favorite as we originally ordered the fish tacos, but it was still tasty. There was a significant amount of lightly battered fish, fried to a perfect golden brown and had an audible crunch with every bite. Almost reminded us of the crispiness you get in vegetable/egg roll wrappers. While the texture was spot on, the fish itself wasn’t well seasoned, so the tartar sauce and lemon wedges were definitely needed to provide acidity and salt. The fries are double battered, similar to Checkers/Rally’s fries, but without all the black pepper. We added some of the Tajín from the chips and LOVED it! They should seriously consider this as an optional seasoning. They could even add it to the fish for a spicy kick.
Isabel Y — Google review
Honey Oat Latte and Lobster roll were amazing. The brioche bun is not overly buttery, and the lobster is seasoned well. I also love the tortilla chips and salsa on the side.
Paola A — Google review
To me, well worth the price just for the view! Lots of free parking on a mid-September early afternoon. Fish tacos tasty too! $18+$4 water.
Tracy R — Google review
Our favorite local beach cafe to go with the kids because it's right on the sand, there is a playground in the same beach, and there are tide pools. The food is very good for a beach cafe, and they have drinks as well. The parking lot gets very busy during summer and often runs out of space. We like coming here during non-summer months because it's much more relaxed and the weather is still amazing.

Burnt Crumbs in Irvine is a popular counter-serve eatery known for its hearty sandwiches and shaded patio. Originally gaining fame as a food truck, it has become a go-to spot for creative, handcrafted gourmet sandwiches like the crispy spicy pork belly and Nashville hot chicken. Owner-chef Paul Cao's Spaghetti Grilled Cheese has garnered attention, but the spotlight now shines on the famously fluffy souffle pancakes available in original, blueberry, or strawberry flavors.
This is such a great brunch spot, their service was great and the speednof the food was impressive, specially during a busy Sunday. I ordered the Strawberry Pancakes and they were some of the softest, fluffiest and delicious pancakes i have ever had. You have to try these if you come here, additionaly their fried potatoes were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We also ordered the breakfast burrito without meat and it also tasted just as good as it looks. I would highly recommend this place!

Finally made it here on a weekday to avoid the extensive lines. Glad I didn’t wait an hour on a weekend. Food was good and was surprised how fast it hit the table after our order. Simple dishes here but tasty. Disappointed that there are two coffee options, hot and Vietnamese, this was a miss for me and anyone who may want an espresso beverage. Enjoyed it overall but wouldn’t wait in the line for it.

We came here during a soccer tournament do the lines were very long but worth the wait. We love these pancakes!! So light and fluffy. We came here twice during our short weekend there. My only complaint is that there is not a place in the Bay Area like this! I wish they would open up a store in NorCal!!

Solid place with super interesting souffle pancakes. I got the peach ones - despite peach in everything, the flavor wasn't overwhelming. The pancakes had a texture not unlike bao buns, but personally I preferred this texture. Great food. Ordering was at the counter, but food was brought to the table - the servers were great, but the service model isn't my favorite.

Absolutely AMAZING! The food was delicious and the wait time surprisingly prompt for the amount of people that were there. The reason the atmosphere got a4 for me is because it's next to many other businesses and very adjacent to a busy parking lot, so, it's pretty busy! But, you don't notice add much because your food tastes soooo good! I'm going back for SURE!

I have been meaning to try this place for a while. I just need to try their pancakes. I came around noon on a weekday and parking was hard to find but got parking in a couple of minutes. Then I saw their menu and there is something for everyone. I went with a seasonal pancake flavor peach. I was able to find seating for one inside. They also have seating outs side. They also have restrooms inside. Got my food quickly. Would definitely recommend this place.

I finally found the viral jiggly pancakes in Irvine! Burnt Crumbs has been here for a hot minute, y'all better not come for me for only finding out about it now, but hey, better late than never. I had to try their bestselling flavor that's topped with fresh strawberries and strawberry cream, and the souffle pancakes definitely hit the spot. And you know the moment when they bring out a dish for the table next to you and you're like I want that, immediately? Their Classic club sandwich... I was struggling to eat this because of how HUGE it is, I thought it was skewered with a freakin' chopstick lol, and comes with a HEAPING amount of fries. Thanks for reading! ^-^

This is my second time coming to this place since early March of this year. I was greeted by a very friendly and kind person who helped me get the right order I needed to start my day. His name is Goose and his service was more than great. It’s when we have certain individuals like him that help build the welcoming atmosphere and that’s what I felt coming back to Burnt Crumbs. If I lived closer to Irvine, I’d be going to this place on a regular basis. Their Souffle pancakes are to die for.

The Taco Stand in Laguna Beach is a popular spot for Tijuana-style tacos, offering grilled asada and al pastor fillings. In addition to traditional taqueria options, they also serve vegetarian choices like nopales and mushroom tacos. Customers appreciate the value and taste of their offerings, particularly the carne asada fries. The self-serve salsa bar with a variety of add-ons adds to the dining experience.
The best and freshest tacos I have ever had! Everything they make here is homemade. You can watch them make the tortillas right in front of you. The flavors are good. They have lots of high quality salsas and condiments. The service here is great. The cost for the quality is so great. One of my highest recommendations goes to this place.

It’s five stars on the food and the quality. Gosh with so few tables, so many people crammed in, lines at all times, hard to give it a five stars for service and atmosphere. But it’s fun and perfect for the Mexican folk you are craving. Made super fresh and always tasty.

The California burrito at this location has crispier fries than other taco stand locations. There’s more creamy cheese and the meat is a little tougher less grilled flavor. Overall I still love the burrito.

Wow! I got 2 asada tacos & tried one shrimp taco. So good. I really liked the texture and flavor of the tortillas. They have a sauce area with alot of options! I opted for the green salsa, it wasn’t too spicy, but still good. Def recommend.

Had these tacos last week and I’m still thinking about how good they were. Absolutely delicious, the best I’ve ever had, and I’m from Southern California. I got the al pastor, pollo asado, and camaron tacos. From the first bite, I knew I would be ordering more (which I’d do later, lol). The line is long, but it’s obvious why: everyone wants some of the food. The line does move quickly, and food will come out not too long after, even when it was busy. I also got the burrito in my second order, and that was equally delicious.

The Beachcomber at Crystal Cove is a charming beachside eatery housed in a converted cottage, offering popular California favorites and a delightful breakfast. Situated within the historic district of Crystal Cove State Park, this old house provides an idyllic setting for oceanfront dining with breathtaking views of the Newport Coastline and Catalina Island. Guests can enjoy the coastal dining experience right on the sandy beach, savoring delicious meals while soaking in the refreshing ocean breeze and admiring the crashing waves.
A great experience right on the beach. Good food, wonderful view. Very relaxing and casual - expect people to be wearing bathing suits and beach attire. A fairly steep walk from the parking lot and there is no parking at the restaurant except a few handicap spaces. The cocktails were creative and delicious. My only comment would be that the butter cake was not at all like the butter cake I'm used to having. It was more like a sponge cake with berries and caramel; the table still ate it, however!
Diana G — Google review
Excellent food in a great location in the historic section of Crystal Cove State Park. We were able to walk in without reservations, but if you want to eat outside, I’d recommend making a reservation. The bean soup is very tasty, and the fish tacos were excellent. The ocean views are incredible! I wish we could have eaten outside. The staff is very friendly and helpful and made a great recommendation to me. You will need to park at the Crystal Cove paid parking lots ($15 for a day pass) and either walk over or take a shuttle.
Jen N — Google review
You really could not pick a better spot. You will not get a better view, and I would think you would be hard for us to find a better beignet in Orange County, maybe California. The meals are immaculate, and our service was too. You will need to park in one of the paid parking lots and walk down the trail to The Spot but it is absolutely worth a walk; I would walk twice as far without hesitation. There is also a shuttle, but I am not sure how often it makes the run.

You are paying for location, location here. You can't beat the views from here and you eat basically on the beach. You can't get closer unless you pack your own food. There is always a wait for walk up so I would suggest you make a reservation. Even with a reservation, you may wait a little. We tried the ahi poki tacos from apps, ribs dinner plate, mushroom & truffle mac & cheese, fries and lemon mouse. The Ahi poki were good but the crust tasted a little stale to me. I wish they had more of a crunch but good. Great value for ribs dinner plate. The cream corn was more of corn, not overly creamy and the ribs had a lot of fat on it. They can't control that but I felt like it was more fat then meat. But good. Mushroom & Truffle mac & cheese was on the watery side. If you are thinking it's a thick, rich mac & cheese, it is not that. Fries were good-could have been a little hotter. And I thought I was ordering lemon mouse cake but it was more of a mouse cup. Overall, good dinner and fun to treat yourself once in awhile.

We enjoyed an amazing breakfast on the beach! The Beignets are to die for. Service was exceptional! This is such a cute rustic place, right on the beach. We loved all the food and enjoyed a great walk in the beach after breakfast. Parking is a little far away, but they do run shuttles. We chose to walk the state park walking trails to get there instead. Just note that there is a steep set of stairs to get to the restaurant if you walk the trail. But we didn’t feel it was too difficult. All in all super amazing breakfast experience and one we would highly recommend to anyone!!!

Perfect place for lunch on the beach at Crystal Cove. Food is simple but good quality and well executed, very friendly service. Recommend the grilled mahi fish tacos (large fish portions!) and the turkey club sandwich (not a typical stacked club, but on a roll. The turkey was excellent thick cut).

Nestled in the heart of Laguna Beach, 230 Forest Avenue is a renowned dining destination offering a vibrant atmosphere and an innovative menu featuring fresh Californian cuisine. With its coastal-inspired dishes and trendy ambiance, this restaurant has been a staple in the area since 1996. Chef Marc Cohen's dedication to sourcing the finest ingredients and reimagining classic California dishes has solidified the restaurant's reputation as a culinary institution.
The food and service here is excellent! I think the only thing I didn't care for was how much vodka pomegranate granita was actually on the oyster. It was very over powering in flavor but otherwise it was really good. I loved sitting outside and the location was nice. If I'm ever on the West Coast again I'll be sure to add this place into my trip.

Great restaurant with beautiful presentation. In fact, the presentation was even better than the food, which was still good at 4/5 stars. Nice atmosphere and service. The restrooms need more frequent attention; not the level of cleanliness expected at a place like this.

Prime rib dip sandwich was delicious and so was the wedge salad, they changed the salad a little since I last went but it still hit. Server offered bread than seen at the end he charged me for it... don't mind paying just felt he was being deceitful in the way he offered it. Was kinda sketchy..

This is the patio in Laguna if you want to see and be seen, ideally while pretending you just “happened” to stop by after the beach and didn’t strategically pick your outfit for it. The trees offer shade, which is nice, because otherwise you’d melt into your chair like a wax figurine. We came for “drinks and a snack” but accidentally ordered enough food to qualify as dinner for a mid-sized family. The Bacon Wrapped Dates were sticky, sweet, and impossible to eat without looking like you’re auditioning for a barbecue sauce commercial. The Spicy Tuna grazing plate comes with three pieces, but they’ll make it four if you’re with a group—because apparently they understand math and diplomacy. Also, the rice was so crispy it could probably survive re-entry from space. The Wagyu Sirloin Carpaccio was paper-thin and amazing, with truffle aioli that makes everything taste better in the same way a cheat code makes video games easier. For drinks, the Ruby Rickey was light and refreshing (i.e., you could drink several before realizing it), and the Mission Fig Margarita was the perfect choice for a hot afternoon. The servers and bussers were friendly, efficient, and had that uncanny ability to refill your water without you noticing—possibly magic. Five stars. Would come back in a heartbeat… assuming I can find a beach outfit worthy of that patio again.

This place is seriously unreal! My gf and I were in Laguna Beach for the afternoon and decided to stop in for lunch. Firstly, they seated us inside with nice cold a/c as the sun was baking me. They were playing great music like Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveler, Lumineers, U2, etc. We ordered the Kung Pao calamari and the fish & chips and we shared both. The presentation and quality of food was the best we found on our entire vacation. They were extremely detail oriented, but just two examples were they had to put some tables together for a larger party and made sure to place the chairs so no one was sitting behind me. Also, since we had some leftovers, they provided a box, but also a seperate container for the cole slaw so that it wouldn't get anything soggy. These little details are what make a good restaurant great. Seriously, the best food we have found in California so far. Do not sleep on 230 Forest. Next time I'm in the area I look forward to trying something new and delicious. Whatever ya'll are doing keep doing it. This place is a true gem!!!!!!!!! 100% satisfaction from us. One Love

Really good experience with delicious food and awesome service! I can highly recommend the toasted garlic salmon, kung pao calamari, bacon wrapped dates and their chocolate croissant bread pudding. Truly scrumptious Beautiful presentation, perfectly cooked and cozy outdoor seating! Would eat here again in a heartbeat 💗

Urth Caffe is the realization of a dream that began over 30 years ago, when Jilla and Shallom Berkman met a passionate Peruvian coffee farmer named Jorge. The cafe serves fresh, responsibly grown organic heirloom coffee and hand-blended fine organic teas in an upscale environment. It's a local favorite for its health-conscious food, pastries, and charming garden patio with views of the Laguna Art Museum.
Urth Caffé in Laguna Beach has a beautiful, laid-back vibe with great outdoor seating and ocean air. We ordered the **avocado pizza**, **honey vanilla latte**, and **pistachio latte** — everything was fresh and flavorful. The avocado pizza was light but satisfying, and both lattes were smooth and unique (the pistachio milk really stands out!). The café does get very busy, so expect a bit of a wait during peak hours. Staff were friendly, but service was a little slow. Prices are on the higher side, but you’re paying for quality ingredients and the coastal location. Overall, it’s a great spot for a relaxed brunch or coffee break. Would definitely come back!
Akshara T — Google review
I had a chicken sandwich with cilantro and pesto it was good, though not perfect. I also ordered a pistachio coffee; it was nice but a bit too sweet. Overall, I liked the place for a first visit. It was definitely worth trying at least once.

I really wanted to love this place - I got the chocolate/pistachio croissant, it was alright. The matcha was really good. But if you want to sit outside, be prepared to be SWARMED by birds. Within 2 minutes of me sitting outside, a pigeon landed on my actual plate of food. So safe to say I immediately left, without getting to eat the rest of my meal. (I have a major fear of birds) - and everyone around me was experiencing the same thing. - the staff was friendly, but def didn’t seem phased by this.

Professional Greeters , staff know the menu very well , they handled large groups quickly, service and food servers were quick and polite and very well spoken English and Spanish. Very respectful! Food was excellent and coffee was the best I’ve had in Southern California. A really great LA experience in the Arts District and Laguna Beach !

An exceptional experience. The food, location, and service are truly outstanding. If you’re visiting Laguna Beach, be sure to visit Urth Caffé to enjoy a freshly made sandwich and juice. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality and atmosphere.

I went around noon, and it was a bit busy — I had to wait about 20 minutes to order. Both indoor and outdoor seating were available. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant. The cappuccino and marble cake were delicious!

Great Location, but Limited Selection and a Bit of a Wait Urth Caffé in Laguna Beach has a beautiful setting and a lot of potential—perfect for a coastal coffee break or dessert run. I stopped by craving a scone and something sweet to go, but was disappointed by the limited selection in the bakery case. The café was pretty busy, and while the staff was doing their best, the wait time was longer than I expected. After standing in line for a while and not seeing what I came for, I ended up leaving without ordering. I’ve had great experiences at other Urth locations, so I’d give this one another try—but next time I’ll come with more patience and a backup plan.

I go to Urth Caffe weekly for pastries and I love everything about this place. They are friendly and helpful and the baked goods are out of this world and so is their Italian cappuccino! We love sitting on the patio on the weekend occasionally and there is no place like it for a casual meal as it is fun and great people watching. I have not tried everything on the menu but their breakfasts and salads are wonderful.

Modern French restaurant
Marché Moderne is a chic French restaurant in Newport Beach, CA, known for its classic entrees and inventive small plates. It's a popular spot for both locals and travelers, offering an authentic culinary experience in a sophisticated ambiance. The restaurant has set high standards for French dining in the area and is frequently mentioned among the best French restaurants near the airport. Marché Moderne offers an exclusive Chef's Tasting Menu on Thursday evenings, featuring five courses with optional wine pairings.
This was a great dining experience. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained all of our plates as they came out. The dishes were interesting, our crab came with sweet potatoes done three different ways. The drinks were fantastic and there was a long list of wines to choose from. I also liked how you can watch the food bring prepared in the kitchen while you're eating.

The food here is just so simple and they really do a good job of bringing out the natural flavors of the dishes. Our server was very knowledgeable on all dishes on the menu. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing.

3.5/5 stars Made a reservation for my birthday dinner, but it took a little while to get seated. We shared the bread with butter ($7), salade amelia ($16), tartare ($29), sashimi hamachi ($22), and bone marrow grilled octopus ($41) amongst three people. Bread: 3/5 - The waiter asks if you want bread, but note that bread is an additional cost. The bread was warm, but the outside was quite hard. The bread and butter were on the salty side. Salads amelia: 4/5 - Presentation of the salad was cute. I enjoyed the pieces of avocado and pumpkin seeds Tartare: 0/5 - Barely edible. It was so sour. None of us wanted to finish it Sashimi hamachi: 4/5 - Tender and flavorful, but nothing extremely mind blowing Bone marrow grilled octopus: 4/5 - The octopus was soft, but it’s a small dish For my entree, I got the the Mediterranean sepia and Hokkaido scallops ($36), which I would give 4/5 stars. It was very tender, almost to the point of being undercooked. The flavor was tasty. The croutons were soggy. The scallops were small For dessert, I got the chocolate soufflé cake ($16), which I would give 5/5 stars. The inside was hot with melted chocolate, and the praline crunch and coconut gelato added an extra layer of flavor. For my birthday, they gave me a madeleine cookie with a lit candle, so that was a nice touch. The ambiance is nice inside, although we were seated near the window, so we saw a giant, black beetle on the wall. Our server was nice, but the service was a little slow Overall, the meal was solid, but nothing extraordinarily amazing, especially for the price.
Jen — Google review
Just back from France, I didn’t expect much — but the food here truly impressed me. We tried a variety of dishes and loved the scallops. The Pavlova and crème brûlée fell flat, though, lacking any real flavor. The wine was excellent; I even tracked down a bottle at Bevmo already! Will be back soon.
Alena T — Google review
Superb! The 3 course dinner (ceviche, chicken cordon bleu, and honey pannacotta) was incredible. Instead of wine, we opted for a Ginger Thyme Mocktail I can't stop thinking about. The waitstaff was kind and attentive, including offering a variety of teas with our dessert. Highly recommend!
Arlene B — Google review
If you’re celebrating something, Marché Moderne is the spot. If you’re not celebrating something, the staff may quietly wonder why you’re even there—birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, “I survived another week at work”—pick one, or risk raised eyebrows. Service is friendly and gently persuasive, like a menu therapist guiding you toward life’s better decisions. The bread service arrives warm, with walnuts chunky enough to make you question your dental insurance, but the salted butter redeems everything. Highlights of the night: a surf & turf carpaccio (skirt steak + crab) that easily stole the show; a decadent duck liver mousse that doubled as the bread service’s best friend; steak tartare that leaned sweet but came with truffle sauce, so all is forgiven; and prawns that were both delicious and big enough to demand their own ZIP code. Dessert is where things get serious. The rice pudding—yes, rice pudding—was phenomenal, with flavor pairings straight out of a Rice to Riches fever dream. The bananas foster is another strong choice if you prefer your sugar flambéed. Parking? Technically free. Realistically, nonexistent. On a Friday night, just hand over the $10 for valet and consider it the price of admission to a better life decision.
Jordan G — Google review
We came here for our thirtieth anniversary and they did not disappoint. Our server, Ryan, was absolutely phenomenal. He was engaging, had just the right level of attentiveness, was so knowledgeable about the dishes, and was very easy to talk to. We did the tasting menu, with the wine pairing. It was worth every penny. We're not wine drinkers, and know nothing of it, but wanted the experience. The various wines and champagne really added a lovely new dimension to the meal. While the explanations were mostly lost on us, we still enjoyed the flavour. All of the food was executed perfectly, all being handcrafted with care and attention. The maitre d' came over to chat with us, check in, and was so effortlessly charming. The entire experience was wonderful and I can't wait for the opportunity to return. One thing I wanted to note is that there was no pretentiousness at this place at all. Unlike some other restaurants in the area who devote paragraphs to reasons why they can eject you (I'm looking at you Mastro's), this place was welcoming, while remaining upscale and sophisticated.

Update May 2025: we've been here multiple times since the original review and the food, service and overall singing experience has been as consistently satisfying as any restaurant we've ever visited. Marche sets a high standard and never fails to deliver each and every time. Well done to the MM team. ------------------- Been coming to this restaurant since their South Coast days, and MM never disappoints. The menu evolves with the seasons but exceptional standards like bone marrow, duck, short rib and coq au vin keeps us coming back. The Crystal Cove space expands on the open kitchen experience and maintains some fresh air dining options. Service is professional and fine tuned, with staff that clearly understands that fine dining can be friendly and accessible.

Cafe Heidelberg is a well-established and beloved spot in Laguna Beach, offering a laid-back setting for delightful breakfast and brunch experiences. The cafe serves up classic dishes such as pancakes, omelets, burritos, burgers, and salads. With an array of hot coffees and teas on the menu, visitors can enjoy a taste of London right in Laguna Beach. The cafe's decadent breakfast options are complemented by an amazing selection of pastries.
This breakfast spot offers a wonderfully relaxed and cozy vibe. The coffee and croissants are perfectly prepared, just the right balance to start the day. The highlight for me was Smoked Salmon Bagel, which was perfectly cooked and truly awakened my taste buds. It's just a few minutes' walk from Brooke Beach, so after a satisfying meal, it's the perfect spot to head over and enjoy some surfing or the beach vibe. Highly recommended!

Cafe Heidelberg is the best breakfast spot my wife and I tried during a brief trip to Laguna Beach. She had a breakfast platter with house-made sausage, eggs, and fruit. The sausage was absolutely fantastic! I had the Eggs Heidelberg, which were also delicious! I thought the coffee was good, the price was right, and the patio view on a Saturday morning was very relaxing. Overall, I was impressed by the food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. It’s definitely a great spot to go!

Everything about this place is fantastic. The food, the service, the seating and views. I liked it so much we came here twice during our 4 day trip. We initially went to different coffee shops every morning and this was my favorite. I got a latte and it was amazing. I am on a strict Keto carnivore diet (minus the latte lol) so it’s hard to find healthy protein breakfasts and they had several good options. I got the eggs Benedict with avocado and spinach. Service was very friendly and very fast. Sweet potato fries are a bonus 😃🥰 My son is picky as well and he loved the sliders and fries.

Cozy, calm, coastal ambiance nestled in the canyon. Counter order with friendly and efficient service. Lots of yummy breakfast, salad, and sandwich options on the menu. Also lots of coffee and other drinks that I would love to try on a return visit. This would get 4.5 stars for the food if that was an option - we ordered the chicken pesto panini and clubhouse sandwich. Both were good, but nothing overly special. I will say the fries are amazing, though!

If you’re searching for a delightful breakfast spot in Laguna, look no further than Kitchen In The Canyon. Nestled in a picturesque setting, this restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for starting your day. Food: The breakfast menu is a true highlight, featuring an array of delicious options. I indulged in their oatmeal topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and raspberries, which was both hearty and refreshing. The balance of flavors was perfect, and the presentation was beautiful. Additionally, the crispy bacon strips were a delightful complement, adding just the right amount of savory to my meal. Each bite was a testament to their commitment to quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Atmosphere: The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, with rustic decor that makes you feel right at home. Large windows provide stunning views of the surrounding canyon, enhancing the dining experience. The outdoor seating area is particularly charming, perfect for enjoying a sunny morning. Family Love: What makes this place even more special is that my amazing mother and husband love it too! Sharing a meal here with them creates wonderful memories, and it’s a joy to see them enjoy the food and atmosphere as much as I do. Service: The staff at Kitchen In The Canyon are friendly and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish. We have been in Laguna 4 nights and this is the best breakfast. I had the yogurt bowl with lemon curd. So good and my wife had the avacado toast with a perfect poached egg. This is her third time ordering avacado toast in Laguna and the best so far. The honey cinnamon lattes were delicious.

I love this place. I should’ve done review a lot sooner. Space is clean and has many seating outside and inside. Food is pretty good but omelet can be larger. Coffee is decent even for snobbish coffee drinker like myself. You have to order at ordering station like fast food but they do bring food to you. They ask for tip at ordering stage— I don’t like this system. It’s like teacher giving grade at the start of semester. Other than that I’m pretty happy with pricing for food value etc

In addition to the fantastic food, the coffee was also noteworthy and perfectly complemented our breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend Kitchen in the Canyon for anyone looking to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast or brunch with friends on the weekend. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy, and the staff is friendly and attentive. If you're in the area, be sure to check out this hidden gem!

Super unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude staff. The elderly barista staff kept having me wait after talking to her acquaintances passing by, again and again, and even had time to play around with the pet dog who was brought into the store after me who has been waiting already, feeding it with cream, and then finally returned to take and make my order without washing hands. She then “kindly” offered me straws but instead of putting it into my hand which is already out there to take them, she just tossed them out on the counter. Micro aggressive and extremely unhygienic, plus very disrespectful.

Shirley's Bagels is a delightful casual deli that brings the classic NYC bagel experience to life. Known for their boiled and baked bagels, they also serve up a variety of breakfast sandwiches, salads, and egg dishes. On a recent Saturday morning visit, I found myself in line for about 15 minutes before placing my order—definitely consider calling ahead to avoid the wait!
Tried 4 different bagel sandwiches - pesto florentine - really enjoyed it, like the mushrooms and the flavor of the sandwich - Californian - not sure, but something was missing. Strangely it tasted a little bland and was missing flavor - nova lox - amazing. The bagel was warm and perfectly toasted, the cream cheese against the bagel was cold(usually the cream cheese starts to melt, but perhaps they slightly froze it because it didn’t melt!) and the nova lox was fresh. This might have been one of the best nova lox bagel sandwiches I’ve had. Have to come back for this again. -PB and J for the kids. Solid.

Restaurant was crowded with limited seating but food was really good and really well priced. The line was super long but they got through it fast and wait time was shorter than I expected for the number of people there. We got 2 Asiago bagels with veggie cream cheese on one and garlic scallion for the other. The veggie bagel had a fresh taste and the garlic one was wonderfully savory.
Caroline W — Google review
Deeeeeelicious bagels and a lot of options for breakfast sandwiches and bagels. I had the egg white veggie sandwich on a sesame bagel. The veggies were so thinly sliced and fresh and the cream cheese was the bomb! The bagel was soft and chewy. Really friendly staff. My only complaint is the space gets pretty cramped during busy times and it does take quite a while to get your order. But the quality is worth the wait!

My goodness this place is crazy busy almost every morning. I ordered bagels for myself and my coworkers online. A whole volleyball team decided to order just before in the wrong line which pushed my ready online order to arrive 15 minutes after its designated pick up time. However, the place is so good their food is super fresh as posted on their signs. “Please be patient as our food is very freshly made” something along those lines. Located on Westminster and 17th in Costa Mesa

We went to get some bagels and cream cheese on a Saturday morning. Normal bagels are reasonably priced but 8 oz of normal cream cheese was a bit expensive. There was a line of about 5 people and we got the order in about 15 mins including wait time. Our order was quite simple though. I would suggest folks to order ahead by phone or online and skip the line. Bagels were okay not as good as those kosher bagels that have more crispy crust, soft and chewy inside without the taste of raw flour.

I must say… that I continue to be impressed. The bagels are so good. They are home made. If you have little ones; they can enjoy watching through the glass partition how they are made. This location is along the Coastal Hwy in Newport, Ca. Small store, older style, could definitely use some updating - completely.. The restrooms ( all 3 were Unisex) were not maintained, toilet seats broken, trash all over the floor, smelled bad!! I Dining room tables were dirty, so was the floor. Inspite of these observations, our meal was tasty & fries were hot & fresh. It would help management if a timely dining room & restroom check is done every hour or so. I would return one day to check.
