Nestled on a picturesque river peninsula, Ada Ciganlija is the ultimate leisure destination in Belgrade, especially during the summer months. This stunning locale boasts a 4.2 km long artificial lake that serves as a playground for both kids and adults. Here, you can indulge in various activities such as sailing, swimming, and waterskiing or simply bask in the sun on its sandy beaches.
Ada Ciganlija is the ultimate summer escape in Belgrade! It’s the perfect place to lie out and soak up the sun when the weather’s nice. People love coming here for a good walk, a run, or even a bike or skate ride. There are plenty of cozy cafes and restaurants around too, making it a great spot to relax and grab a bite after some outdoor fun. The only real downside is that it can get super busy on the weekends, especially when the weather is nice, and if you’re planning on swimming, know that the water is quite dirty. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot to escape the busy city life!
İsidora — Google review
It’s a beautiful, peaceful spot with calm areas for relaxing and lively beach bars full of energy. The water is soft, clean, and the perfect temperature, with lifeguards on duty for safety. It reminded me of Manhattan Beach — you can rent bikes and ride the 7km path that circles the whole area. It’s active, fun, and full of life. Once an island, now a peninsula, Ada has a rich history and is a local favorite in the summer. A perfect place to swim, chill, and enjoy Belgrade outdoors!
Maya S — Google review
Congrats Belgrad for this awesome place , where you can find a peaceful place to , relax , walk , run, swim , bike , skate ...etc. I was pleasant to see this wonderful place. If you visit Belgrad , definitely you have to visit this place.

Perfect for spending a beautiful day. Surrounded by the Sava river so you can swim in summer, full of open air GYM places so you can run, walk and hit the gym in nature, full circle of bicycle road, golf fields, basketball football and tennis fields, clean air.

Artificial Lake. You can swim, rent bicycles to go around the lake in the park with trees, take your drink. Excellent experience
Katia K — Google review
Ada. ❤️ Perfect for an early morning/late afternoon swim or a picnic with the kids. You can ride a bike, put on your rollerblades, go for a SUP or paddle. Sip your coffee or tea, maybe treat yourself to pancakes or pizza. Take a stroll around the lake. Or do nothing at all, and simply enjoy this marvelous life.

Lido in Belgrade is a unique spot located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers on the tip of Great War Island. This protected area offers a perfect setting for families and friends to enjoy shallow waters, making it safe for water games and ideal for kids. The island's untouched nature provides a refreshing escape from the city, with green spaces perfect for walking or cycling.
Very nice place for friends and familly. Water is not deep so it can be interesting for water games. Also that is very safe place for kids. Place is on big island, so it is nice for walking or bicycle driving in wild. :)

Nature is beautiful and such a pleasure. Free camping spot . But the water is unfortunately dirty and not very attractive to go swimming...
Mina — Google review
Shallow water, small plague. Danube brings garbage, no cleaning service.
Felix I — Google review
A mess of a beach in a very scenic location. No changing rooms to be found. The waters of Danube are too murky to see anything on the bottom so injury with huge empty clams is very likely if you step on one, as it happened to me. The beach is not suited for anything but sunbathing. Not a tourist site at all.
Julius P — Google review
Not very clean but its nice view, too much mosquitoes prepare protection
Fahad K — Google review
Too crowded, dirty. People piss and fight bear in the beach or bushes. a few meters away from people who even sunbathe and rest there. quite disgusting.

Kalemegdan is a sprawling park that houses a historic fortress, complete with a museum and zoo. The park offers scenic walking paths and stunning views of the nearby rivers. Adjacent to the park, visitors can explore a charming street lined with ice cream shops, coffee houses, bakeries, and various retail spaces offering handcrafted and vintage items. Belgrade's top attraction, Kalemegdan Park or Belgrade Fortress, provides panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.
Wow. What a site! It is large and so much to explore. There are multiple viewing points of the sava and Danube rivers, lots of gates, bridges and battlements to cross and climb. A rich history with lots of attractions within the walls too. So go on foot, take some water with you and enjoy the fort. There are some nice museums, churches and displays to find within the walled keep.
Chris B — Google review
One of the most interesting things to see in Belgrade. Been there two times but I haven't had to buy tickets, not sure if there are some paid areas or I arrived after they don't charge. Great location to admire the sunset
Rareș M — Google review
Kalemegdan is Belgrade’s historic heart, where the mighty fortress meets peaceful parkland. Overlooking the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, it offers sweeping views, ancient walls, and layers of Serbian history. Walking through its gates feels like stepping back in time, yet it’s lively with locals, street performers, and cafés. Perfect for sunsets, photography, and quiet strolls, Kalemegdan blends culture, nature, and history into one unforgettable experience in Belgrade.

It's nice historical places in Serbia. The big museum with the great landscape of park that you can see Belgrade city by eagle view.
Risa B — Google review
I went here on the 31/8/2025 and I had a horrible experience. The park was full of homeless people screaming for no reason and staring at me, making me really uncomfortable. There were many people begging and it was such in rough shape. It was truly third world country conditions with trash, used syringes, faeces and urine everywhere. The area felt really unsafe. Such a shame

Nice park in Belgarde. You can see the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. You need to visit Fortress. But after many visits of Belgrade I would say that they need to start renovating slowly their famous Monuments.

Great War Island is a captivating destination that beautifully blends nature and history. This river island is not only a sanctuary for rare plants and mammals but also serves as a vital nesting ground for various bird species, making it an ecological treasure. A recent kayaking tour on the island allowed participants of all skill levels to explore its stunning scenery while enjoying the unique perspective of Belgrade from the water.
This is incredible place. In the city center but it feels like you are in country side or deep in nature. It is not crowded and beach is great (although bar in not in perfect shape). It is also possible to camp here. Paths are well marked, so you can take long walk in the nature. This is must see. Especially during summer when there is pontoon bridge

Nestled atop a dramatic ridge, the Belgrade Fortress, also known as Kalemegdan Park, is an essential starting point for any exploration of this vibrant city. This historic site not only boasts stunning views over the confluence of two rivers but also serves as a sprawling park filled with lush greenery. The fortress itself is divided into Upper and Lower City sections, each brimming with attractions like the iconic Victor Monument, Military Museum, Nebojsa Tower, and Saint Petka's Church.
Excellent spot to explore, discover and stroll. Get those steps in because you could easily do 10,000 just exploring the citadel alone. Add in other amusements like the museums, medieval sports and restaurants and you could make a fun day of it
Chris B — Google review
Must vist place in belgrade serbia. The Fortress is a must visit when in the city. Originally built by the Romans in the 1st century AD, the fortress has seen countless empires rise and fall including Byzantine, Hungarian, Ottoman, and Austrian, each leaving its own mark. The Ottomans, who ruled Belgrade for nearly two centuries, rebuilt and expanded large parts of the fortress. You can still see traces of their presence in the design of the gates, the remains of the mosque near the Upper Town, and the general layout that reflects their military architecture. The surrounding Kalemegdan Park adds charm to the visit, offering shaded paths, sculptures, and views across the rivers. Key highlights within the fortress include the Victor Monument, and the Military Museum, which houses weapons from various periods of Serbian and Balkan. Great history, great view, great vepons

Clean. Well maintained. Free entry. Has free public toilets. Good place to explore and have a walk. The views of New Belgrade and the Danube are amazing.

The biggest Fortress that I visit until today. . . So big that you need almost a day to see everything, make pictures and relaxing. Lots of things you can do inside this fortress. You must see to believe it.

Kalemegdan is Belgrade’s crown jewel—a vast fortress and park where history and nature meet. Overlooking the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, it offers stunning panoramic views, leafy walking paths, and impressive fortifications dating back centuries. Inside, you’ll find museums, monuments, and lively cafes. It’s perfect for a sunset stroll or a peaceful escape from the city’s buzz. A must-see for anyone visiting Belgrade, blending culture, history, and scenic beauty in one spot.
Dani B — Google review
It is a beautiful place. No entry ticket to most of the places. View of the rivers is beautiful. It was cloudy during our stasis we missed sunset. Chapel is worth visiting

Nebojša Tower, also known as Kula Nebojša or Nebojsina Kula, stands within Belgrade Fortress as a testament to the city's history. Originally constructed in 1460 by the Hungarians to protect the area, it later served as a grim dungeon for prisoners. The tower's name, "Nebojša," translates to "fearless" in Serbian and reflects its resilient nature.

Nestled by the serene lakeside, Restoran Time Out offers a delightful retreat just a short 20-minute drive from the bustling heart of Belgrade. With its inviting beach area adorned with cozy couches and tables, it's the perfect spot to sip on refreshing drinks while soaking in stunning water views. I can't wait to return and sample their culinary offerings!
Nice restaurant located right along the lac. They have a beach area with couches and tables to enjoy drinks just over the water. A good escape 20mn away from Belgrade city center. Next time we will try the food.
Cedric — Google review
An excellent place for chilling during the day or in the evening after a long walk. The garden of the restaurant is beautiful and large, with perhaps too many tables around. We came towards the end of working hours, so the toilet didn't look very good, I don't know if they clean at the end of the working day or before the beginning of working hours, but the cleanliness in the facility is not at a very good level. The service is good and fast and the staff are friendly and helpful. If you don't have to go to the toilet, it's a great place to rest during the day.
Srdjan P — Google review
Catastrophe! They go by the motto: “popular location, who cares about the food.” I ordered a Margherita pizza: first I had to wait 45 minutes for it, only for the waiter to bring me a completely cold pizza, the cheese had literally turned into stone. I pointed it out to him — he surely noticed it himself, but clearly didn’t care — and then he took the same pizza away and brought it back after 2 minutes, just reheated. Let’s be clear: the pizza tasted exactly the same, and I honestly believe these are the typical frozen store-bought pizzas that they just throw in the oven or whatever. Anyway, a huge disappointment and I don’t recommend it to anyone. Speaking as someone who lives in Belgrade myself.
Helena T — Google review
The atmosphere is really nice, the music isn't loud and they even have sockets near tables which is a rarity on Ada. The service was slow, our waiter was nowhere to be found for most of the time, and we couldn't order more stuff or pay our bill without waiting for at least 10-15 minutes (the restaurant was basically empty at this time). Would recommend if you want to work from here and you have the patience to wait for the staff to serve you, it just happens that I don't.
Александар М — Google review
Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs! Time Out Beograd was by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was low quality, overpriced, and absolutely not worth the money. It tasted like it had been reheated multiple times and lacked any freshness or flavor. The service was extremely slow, and the staff seemed disorganized and uninterested in helping. It took forever just to get our drinks, let alone the food. To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the place was shocking. The dining area was visibly dirty, and we noticed signs of pest problems – roaches and even rats. That’s completely unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone one charging premium prices. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. There are plenty of much better options in Belgrade that actually care about quality, hygiene, and service.
Billion T — Google review
Super nice location, Ada is beautiful. Looks good, but service was not so perfect. Toalet was disturbing...very bad. The food is ok, nothing special. Taste is basic. Just location is so nice, so they have all the points for that. Place around is dirty...it wasn't even a busy day, so I can't imagine at weekends. I don't recommend this place for more than just coffee and cake. After walking on Ada Lake is nice to sit down a bit, but you can eat better around in some other restaurant.
Mina D — Google review
Everything was bad. The crepes were just okay, however, their lemonade was terrible. We tried to order the lemonade with soda, and the server declined the request. He brought the lemonades with 1 ice cube inside. It was probably lemon juice thinned out with water. It is located in a beautiful area around the lake, with very beautiful sitting area. That does not make up for the bad experience or the pricey bill. I think there are better restaurants/cafes to sit at near there. Not recommended.

Water park
Aqua Park Hollywoodland is a fantastic waterpark offering stunning views of Belgrade and the countryside from its highest waterslide. The park features multiple pools, creating a vacation-like atmosphere with plenty of variety. Visitors can enjoy a calming and warm experience at night, especially during winter, with various pools, saunas, and even a gym available. The park also offers the opportunity to relax in a jacuzzi or children's pool while enjoying slides and an outdoor pool during the summer months.
I love this place at night. It's calming and warm during the winter. Many different pools, spa with few saunas. At the up floor, you can drink what you want, even smoke. Healthy night fun. Also, this place offer gym. In all this space you can stay as long as you want, for very moderate price.

Wonderful place for everyone to enjoy awesome services. Swimming pools are clean and very well maintain. Sauna and steam room still brand new and big enough to have your privacy. Massage therapist very friendly and professional very talented. Lifeguards are right there to assist you and help you look after your kids and anyone else to feel safe and secure. Definitely will go back again and gladly suggest anyone to visit and have fun time with friends and family. Thank you

Nice waterpark with absolutely gorgeous views over Belgrade and the countryside from the highest waterslide. I didn’t took a picture of the view but you will see it for yourself when you are there🥰 On top of that the park has multiple pools so lots of variation and overall a nice vacation vibe.

Great place to have a great time. Price for the whole day, 1000 RSD for an adult and 700 RSD for a child. There is a jacuzzi, a children's pool and 2 pools, as well as slides with an outdoor pool in the summer.
Igor P — Google review
(Like if you agree) Good place to come here with big family or just with friends. It has a small but good gym. Good pizza. Good swimming pool! Good servis. I would definetly come here again!
Alexander — Google review
It is huge. Few pools and a lot of entertainment for kids and adults. Organization is poor. In some area if you want to pass to go to another pool you must walk to the end of the pool. On one side you have pool and another private terrace of the hotel. Inside water was warm ,outside not so much. Sunbeds are free everywhere. You have restaurant and coffee bar. We had coffee and it was ok. Also you have a place where you can buy donuts and pancakes. Donuts are 250din. :) Sliders are super funny but NOT SAFE AT ALL. They putted some little girl on the top,she dont even tell the people who they should behave. Some boys were using sliders with their heads first.... I don't have comment on this. Very unprofessional.
Lana Z — Google review
Clean, good water temperature but missing warning signs for hidden metal beds in the water. My kids jumped and got hurt because you couldn't see those. Lifeguards can pay more attention. Overall, nice place
Slavica K — Google review
For the price of 800din (6.5e) you get 3 pools, 1 kids pool, a jacuzzi, different type of saunas, and a slide into water free rides, hair dresser and gym can be used as an extra paid service and there is also a cafee/restaurant that serves basic drinks and meals, nothing too classy but enough to not be hungry. There is also a decent toilet available, roof top sun tanning in the summer time and locker room is fairly equiped with showers, change rooms and hair dryers. In most EU countries you must look at naked people whether you like it or not for the price of 15 to 25e which is a bit disapointing in my humble opinion considering the price you pay...

Ada Ciganlija, often called “Belgrade’s Sea,” is a must-visit for anyone exploring Serbia. As an American, I was amazed by how this urban oasis combines nature, recreation, and culture. The pebble beach along the Sava River is perfect for swimming and sunbathing in the summer, while the tree-lined paths are great for walking, biking, or rollerblading. What stood out most was the relaxed vibe—it’s a place where locals gather for picnics, sports, and outdoor cafes. The food stalls serve authentic Serbian snacks, and the sunsets are stunning. It’s safe, family-friendly, and offers something for everyone, from adventure sports to peaceful escapes. Ada Ciganlija is a slice of serenity just minutes from Belgrade’s bustling city center.

Good beach! In the weekend, it is hard to find place for car, but it is not big problem. There are good cafes, perfect bicycle road, and clean as possible ( today there, I think more than 1.500 people, but beach is still clean ). I recommend this place, but you need to know, there is no sand, only small rocks ( they can be too hot ). Anyway - good place for chilling!!

I visited during COVID so it wasn’t under normal circumstances. As a resort that is literally 15 minutes from the centre this place is amazing. You feel like you’re on holiday. From the beach to the waterfront bars and cafes you could be miles away from the city. This is a welcome haven to get away from the bustle of central Belgrade. There should be this sort of place near every city.

Great for outdoor activities, near Belgrade. A little hard to get a free parkingspace, on the roadside.

The water takes all, your troubles, away.. Great place for a long walk or bike ride, have a swim.. One of the rare places of such purpose in Belgrade, this place changes the view on your day, life..
Gorica Z — Google review
We were in Belgrade on 2019 and it was one of my best experiences being in such a peaceful and beautiful city. And among places, this park was the best for me, because I swam in the river while the weather was great and water was awesome. I wish I could travel here again...

The "Belgrade sea" is the nickname of this artificially closed part of the Sava River flow, turned into Belgrade's summer holiday resort, with pebble beaches, restaurants and water sports facilities. Pleasant relaxation during hot summer days.
Aleksandar L — Google review
Place for lovers of peace, silence, relaxation, swimming, and hanging out with your friends in an informal atmosphere (nature included). For those who love to party at night, large number of cafes (with live music) are at your disposal throughout the year. Excellent place for sports lovers as well, as Ada has a biking lane, tennis and golf courts, water skiing, and it is a place of large number of local and international sporting events.

Bridge
Branko's Bridge, also known as the Brotherhood and Unity Bridge, is a significant river crossing in Belgrade that connects the city center with New Belgrade. Built in 1957, it replaced the former King Aleksandar bridge and serves as an important landmark of the city. The bridge provides pedestrian lanes for walking and offers picturesque views of both old and new city centers. It is a popular spot for cycling, walking, or simply enjoying a sunny day while taking in the scenery.
Nice spot to visit during the night. We can chill and take the nice photos of the city with the river there but also have a car driving across the bridge so we should be careful too.
Baitoei N — Google review
It is often very crowded, especially in the morning or afternoon when most people are going to or coming back from work. A poorly designed roundabout and traffic lights that often do not work. A wonderful view, especially at this time of the year. Changed, i.e. closed turn into Pop Lukina Street, which makes traffic even more difficult.
Anita L — Google review
good view and you can always have a nice walk there, especially at night
Yana D — Google review
Perfect place for a walk, run or bike. The view is incredible and the atmosphere it's great. You can find very nice restaurants facing the river and enjoy a drink watching a beautiful sunset.
Tania O — Google review
I liked the bridge scenes, you can cycle on it, walk or simply cross it with an auto. The bridge gives you views of both sides of the old and new city centers. Very good place for a sunny day. Needs more cleaning below though.
Ahmad — Google review

Timothy J — Google review
Beautiful view of river pavo ,two but river boats not offered a river cruises. Only one restaurant is open on the right bank of the river to have lunch or to enjoy the river view.
Παναγιωτης Κ — Google review
Branko's Bridge is a vital connection between Belgrade's city center and New Belgrade, offering impressive views of the Sava River. Whether you're walking, driving, or cycling, the bridge provides a practical and scenic route. While the structure itself is functional rather than decorative, its urban charm lies in the busy atmosphere and cityscape vistas, especially during sunset. The pedestrian walkways could use some maintenance, but the experience of crossing it—particularly with Kalemegdan in the background—is uniquely Belgrade. A must-see if you're exploring the city and want to capture its everyday rhythm and energy from a different perspective.

Košutnjak, also known as Belgrade's park-forest and the city's 'oxygen factory,' was once a royal hunting ground for the Obrenovic dynasty. Today, it is a popular recreational destination with hiking and biking trails, sports facilities, and even a small ski slope. The lush greenery of Košutnjak transforms into a stunning display of reds, oranges, and yellows in autumn, making it particularly breathtaking during this season.
Beautiful forest with trail paths for running, walking or mountain biking! Real jewel in the city of Belgrade. Plus some nice cafés, too!
Maja — Google review
Košutnjak Park in Belgrade is a sprawling green oasis that offers a refreshing retreat from urban life. With its dense tree canopy, winding walking trails, and abundant picnic tables, it’s a favorite among locals seeking relaxation and recreation. Families and friends gather here to grill meals, play outdoor games, and unwind in the serene surroundings. After years away, I cherished a day here with my family, savoring the lively yet peaceful atmosphere. The air buzzed with laughter and the smoky aroma of BBQs, blending perfectly with the crisp forest scents. Children ran freely, while groups lounged under shaded spots, sharing stories and meals. Ideal for a laid-back family outing, Košutnjak balances natural beauty with communal warmth. Whether exploring its trails or claiming a picnic spot, this park is a timeless haven where memories are made over simple joys.

The A — Google review
The park forest and the Košutnjak excursion site extends over 330 hectares, at an altitude of 250 m. The forest of deciduous and coniferous trees is sprinkled with numerous trails. Probably the name Košutnjak was created because of the hives, which were once here. Until 1903, the dense forest was a closed court garden, and then Košutnjak was open to citizens. In Kosutnjak there are two specially decorated complexes: Pioneer city, sports and recreation center, and Film City with a complex of ateliers and other facilities and devices for production of films. Sport and recreation center "Košutnjak" has football, athletic, volleyball, basketball, handball, five open and one indoor swimming pools. For skiing lovers in Kosutnjak, there is a summer and winter ski trail. At the foot of the hill, where once was the hunting ground of the Obrenovic princely family, there is the source of Hajdučka fountain.

Sava Lake, also known as the "Belgrade Sea" or Ada Lake, is a popular leisure resort located just a short drive from downtown. Visitors can enjoy boating on the tranquil waters while taking in the scenic cityscape. The area offers natural shade from old trees and vast grassy areas for relaxation.
Serbs love water, probably because they lost access to the sea and became a landlocked country. Lake Sava can be called the Serbian Sea.

(Translated by Google) The Fountain of Youth was the monumental entrance to the House of Flowers (see my other review for lots of curiosities and put reactions) that is, the house built in 1975 as a residence for Marshal Tito, today the site of his Mausoleum and part of the largest museum complex in Yugoslavia. On his birthday, all the young people from every part of Yugoslavia paid homage to the Marshal with gifts, arriving here in a sort of relay from all corners of the country. Under the entrance steps there are bus stops and taxi lanes; unfortunately the monument is very degraded and the jets are NOT working. Finally, dogs run free in this area... Disdicevole 🤔

Nestled along the banks of the Danube, this beach features small pebbles and pristine surroundings, making it an inviting spot for sunbathers. Visitors can enjoy free access to well-maintained facilities, including changing rooms and showers, while lifeguards ensure safety throughout the day. The water warms up quickly during summer months, perfect for a refreshing dip.
I’ve been to this beach three times this summer — it’s a pleasantly clean place. It’s a completely free beach with small pebbles. Everything is very clean, and there are changing rooms and showers. The toilets seem to be open until around 6 p.m. There are lifeguards on duty. It’s a very nice spot for relaxing — the water warms up quickly in summer, and along the beach there are bars, vendors selling boiled corn and popcorn, and a small kiosk with drinks and snacks. I really love this place!
