Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Pecs

We were the only guests at dinner time and ordered a cold fruit soup (with abundant cherries, we ate it more for dessert!), beef stew, croquettes and grilled vegetables. It was enough for two of us to share, big portions!

.This is the only place in the city that is full of happiness. Of course the meal is also fantastic and i cant give more then five star for the 2 Waiters they got from me 6 stars . Thanks for everything 👌🏽

We wandered in on our first day in Hungary not knowing what to expect. Find your own table, the waitress will bring over a menu. She’ll come back and take your order. I didn’t realise that was the system and ordered at the bar. The fruit soup was great, it was just what we needed, refreshing. If you haven’t tried cold fruit soup and it’s available, to it!

Read the reviews and went there a weekday evening. No people except some locals and a lady just told us "kitchen closed". No reason at all. Place looked very worn down.

Good food with moderate prices in Pécs. Good menu selection, nice backyard with tables outside. Dishes are of generous size, served on rustic wooden plates and clay soup pots. Been there three times and can recommend veal paprikash (see photo), goulash soup and cold fruit soup. Duck leg was too dry. Desserts are okay. Recommended.

Excellent kitchen with excellent wines! We ate schnitzel from bat cut meat of pork and grilled salmon. Schnitzel was dreamingly tender and the salmon was crispy crust. Both meal was accompanied perfectly by the Irsai wine...

Food was alright, but nothing special and pretty overpriced. We ordered bbq wings, pork ribs, and pork tenderloin. Portion sizes were also quite small. The view is stunning, and the wine is pretty good, but that's about it. It's not worth the effort to hike all the way up there, to be honest.

Had chef pantry for appetizer. It was honestly so meh. For the price i was expecting bucket of cheeze salami and ham + more but there was only 2 slices of cheese bit of salami ham. Bread wasnt so good either. Pork knuckle was okay

Highly recommended! The food is of the highest quality but what stands out even more is the service. The owner, Joseph has not only got great gastronomical knowledge but he’s a life long wine expert too. He trains his team accordingly, it seems. Listening to him talking about food and wine is an experience In itself.

I had the pleasure of dining at Blöff Bisztró, and it was easily one of the highlights of my stay. The setting is relaxed yet stylish, perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. I ordered the Orada (grilled sea bream), and it exceeded my expectations. The fish was fresh, beautifully grilled, and topped with a vibrant green herb sauce that brought the dish to life. It was served with fresh, crusty bread and a simple side of greens and lemon — clean, balanced, and satisfying. The plate was beautifully presented and full of flavor. If you’re looking for a delicious seafood experience in a cozy, welcoming spot, I highly recommend Blöff Bisztró. I’ll definitely be back!

Just stay in this beautiful city for one night and I’m so grateful to find this restaurant with good food, good vibe and friendly staffs. The beef cheek is so nice that I wanted to order again. The squid is also fresh and nice.

Without a doubt the nicest place I’ve eaten in my visit to Hungary. In fact, it was nicer than many meals I’ve had outside of it. The meat was very well cooked and the flavours worked really well. Nice views…small suggestion though, for anyone with sensory issues, maybe don’t sit near the door outside because anyone who steps onto it will shake your chair (every time).

Overall an experience as expected, not better, not worse. Location and atmosphere was nice, food was ok. End of duck breast was too fatty and could have been overall more crispy. The knife wasn't a steak knife, so it was quite difficult to cut the breasts. Shrimp was fine(ish), had better garlic shrimp before. Personally, felt too oily. Perhaps the best meal was "Vadas". Very tender meat and nice overall harmony of flavours. Service forgot to supply fork and needed to ask, but they provided one promptly. It was quite difficult to find the menu online as the link here directs to a non-existent website (paholyetterem.hu), the functional one is paholypecs.hu

We sat on the terrace, it was very pleasant. The food was great, including the dessert. Service was excellent, both waiter were super polite and helpful.

I'm so glad I found this place. I was just walking around the city center looking for dinner. I saw this place because of the weekly specials they had listed outside. I eventually circled back to it because it seemed reasonable in price. The food was delicious, the service fantastic and friendly, and such an excellent soundtrack. I would likely go again were I to be in town. It was a great start to my trip to Pecs.

The food were fine, but the pesto risotto was salty and the easy chicken dish was so simple the chicken was less then the salad , and for the chips and guacamole the chips is more then the sauce itself the sauce finished before the chips, what I liked the most is the cocktails and the mozzarella appetizer.

Compared to the quality at Replay a few years ago, it's clear that the quality of the food here is lower today, the service is worse, and the prices are higher. It's a shame, considering the great location. Squid is regularly fried so much that it looks like chips and loses its flavor.

I’ve been coming here to Replay for nearly 20 years. Of course times change, and so do chefs and kitchen staff. I was so disappointed in the quality of the “grilled” chicken with greens that I almost returned it, but I was with guests. More disappointing I went back to share with them discreetly today how poorly prepared the “salad” was, the response to my person to person feedback (with no review yet) was not as professional as I hoped.

Had the Thai chicken pasta for the meal and it was wonderful. Slightly spicy but not overpowering. The cheesecake with raspberry sauce was wonderful as was the house made tiramisu. Stop in and enjoy the food it’s worth it and the staff are quite friendly and helpful.

I was disappointed with food but service was good. So i gave 3 star earlier. But this kind of arrogance from the owner is very upsetting. That thai glass noodle was tasteless. Instead of checking out my profile history and telling me how to place review, it would be better if you can provide better food to your customers. Cheap or expensive atleast the food should be good. I have no intention to defame anybody's business. I just gave my feedback for improvement. I guess this platform gave everyone the opportunity to share their experiences. If you have problem with this system please talk to relevant people. And i will avoid your place next time i am in the city.

The food was really nice! The decoration inside was very atmospheric but we sat outside. Unfortunately on hearing we were speaking in English the two outdoor waiters had a gossip about us which wasn’t pleasant. My other half is Hungarian and proceeded to inform them not to assume anything about us. Their attitude soon changed and service was pleasant and attentive.

Outside terrace is nice as inside felt so hot, staff are active and quick, strawberry lemonade was fresh and good, food is good , cooked well but prices high comparing to the meals sizes, shashlik was good but vegetables were more than meet and side dish potato didn’t taste fresh

My husband and I were looking for a place to sit on a terrace. We thought this restaurant didn't have a terrace, but we happened to walk past and found out they had a terrace in the passage. And we're glad we did. The food is excellent.

Be careful with the portions, even the regular is generous! Creative and delicious foods in a fairy tail like environment in the middle of historic downtown. Try it and you will love both the scent and the looks. Upperscale pricing but you get what you pay for.

Simply perfect, I definitely recommend it to anyone. The athmosphere in the restaurant is great. On the table, peantus is served and you can eat it as much as you want. Leftovers can be trashed to the floor, because it is used as food for the animals. Food was really tasty and something I have never tried. My recommendation is to order something from “The dishes of the house” section. I had Kacsa mesék (duck tails with strawberry sauce), and Moszkvicssluszkulcs was also great. Prices are more than reasonable for quality of the food and there is no additional or hidden fee charged on the bill. You just pay 450 HUF per person as a fee (for couvert, or peanuts as they have it written).

Stopped to have a late lunch/early dinner. Had this hangover cabbage soup (even tho I wasn't hangovered xD) and omgg it was very-very good! Didn't need any main course anymore xD 100% recommended if you are into soups. P.S. Also this place is hilarious (check the photo spotted in the toilet).

The atmosphere is great, it gives medieval vibes as everything is made out of dark wood and it has straw on the floor. The peanuts are a cherry on top! If you want to experience something unique with great good, this is the place to go ☺️

The glory years of this restaurant are long gone. The place is in the style of the 1990s. The staff speak no languages other than Hungarian and are rather unhelpful (maybe also frustrated). The food is quite good but far from high quality. The restaurant resembles a very decent staff canteen where you can eat but without delight.

This restaurant has been one of the best here since I’ve been a kid. We ate Fisherman’s Soup and Fish plate. Sooo good, and a huge portion, but we won. Ate the whole thing! Beautiful environment on the Mecsek Hills. Definitely have been coming back since childhood.

Such a lovely place to have a nice meal - especially if you were hungry, as portions are generous, all the food and drinks we had were tasty. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We visited the restaurant on a hot day , but in the garden under the trees we really enjoyed the weather! Can’t really say more , have to visit 😉

I like the food here very much, it is really delicious. I didn't eat here years, because I am not living in Pécs, but this weekend we were there. The design and service is 5 star as well. Reservation is more than recommended.

This wasn’t my first visit to Bohemia Sörkonyha, and definitely won’t be my last! I’ve tried both the burgers and the wraps — and they are honestly awesome. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. 🍔🌯 Every bite was worth it! The service is always warm and friendly, and the team makes you feel truly welcome. 🙌 The atmosphere is cozy, relaxed, and has a great vibe — whether you’re there with friends or just enjoying some solo time. 💫 It’s one of my favorite places in the city. We ordered chicken salad prepared in coffee with cranberries and almonds, and buffalo chicken kit. Portions were big, and the food was very delicious. The chicken salad was a really interesting mix of sweet and salty tastes, and coffee added a nice flavor. Buffalo chicken kit was greasy and meaty, just the way it should be.

Good burgers, nice service, clean facilities.

This spot is a winner, especially on a nice day when you can sit outside. There's just something about having your breakfast out in the open that makes it taste even better! Their scrambles are top-notch, and the coffee is always hot. It's got a really laid-back feel, and the outdoor area is just perfect for starting your day right. Big fan!

Great atmosphere, but the food was terrible. I ordered the Buddha bowl and a chai latte. The Buddha bowl was cold with a runny egg, grapes, and figs. I also found a hair mixed in. I tried a few bites but could not get it down (and I will eat most things). The chai latte arrived luke warm. All of the other food that came out looked great— maybe I just ordered the wrong thing!

Excellent overall experience, their pancakes are the reason I continue to go back. They have a different taste than what I am accustomed to in the United States, perfect crispy outside with a soft melt in your mouth center. Great coffee, and other very good savory dishes. A very nice relaxing atmosphere perfect for drinking coffee and getting much needed work done. The employees speak perfect English and are very kind. The only thing I would like to see are new items on the menu, I've been living in Pécs for roughly a year and the menu has remain the same, an opportunity to try something new would be nice, but overall a fantastic spot.

Unfortunately, I am disappointed. My expectations were very high and the reality turned out to be much worse. The English breakfast was not tasty, the bacon was not crispy but stringy, the black pudding poor, the tomato mushy, not enough beans. The best was the chai latte which was really delicious.

We ordered the English breakfast and Benedict breakfast, however, the taste is not delicious and too SALTY😱😱 Cafe is not hot and the portions of food is too few, after finishing meal and you still feel hungry and salty 😭 Very disappointed & Too overpriced!

Go for the coffee, not for the food. The menu has a good selection of international and local dishes with vegetarian options as well. Not so many pastries, only cakes and maybe 2 sandwiches. Opted out for three Eggs Florentine which was a huge disappointment. The English muffin was a sweet bread that overpowered the entire dish, the onsen egg was overcooked, hollandaise didn’t taste anything. The best part was the side salad. And the coffee, that tasted great! And sadly everything is overpriced.

We ate here on 31st December, food was ok, prices are acceptable, staff was serviceable. We ate chicken dishes so we can't rate other dishes.

Főtér Bistro Bar is a real find and we absolutely recommend it to everyone visiting the city centre. The combination of location, quality of offerings, and service is truly exceptional. Dream Location: The bar is situated in a fantastic location, offering a view that stretches directly over the main square. There is no better place to sip a coffee or a drink while watching the city bustle. Winning Offerings: While the drink selection is solid, the absolute highlight is their homemade lemonades. We can confidently say that these are perhaps the most delicious lemonades we have ever tasted! Also, for colder days, the hot chocolate is excellent and a real treat. Comfort and Service: The atmosphere is very pleasant. The owners have thought of everything—it's truly great that blankets and a heating lamp are provided at every table. This allows guests to enjoy the terrace for longer, regardless of the outside temperature. The service is super—the staff is friendly, fast, and attentive, which completes the positive experience.

I ordered mangalica steak and was dissapointed. The meat tasted good but the size was a joke, much smaller than usuall “steak”, especially for the price. On the other hand my girlfriend ordered some kind of cheeks and the meat was great, it melts in your mouth. Stil If I had to choose I would not go here again.

2nd Visit here. This time for the palinka so any quality in this review is lost among all the dead brain cells. But the interior is nice Nd the palinka varieties nice as well. Maybe too much stock photos on the walls. Avoid the corner table when it rains because the AC will kill you.

Very nice location on the main square. As tourists we wanted to try more Hungarian wines. They had many option by the bottle but limited options by glass. However the ones we tried were really good.

One or they best place for wine and a bite for me in Pécs. During the day you can buy the best Hongarian and world wines and during the evening a lovely menu card and tapes. The need for palinka outweigh the need for service. But if you enjoy a staff talking at the bar, not knowing who works there or who's their friends, then this place is the best. And if you want to feel that you annoy them by even stepping in the door the go for it.

The food was extremely disappointing after a long waiting time . The Chicken asparagus looked and tasted like it was homemade with low quality products, won’t recommend to eat here. The view to the Pécsi National theater is nice though.

Waitresses unpleasant from the first moment and unwilling to work. The bar was supposed to be open until 1:00 in the morning, and an hour and a half before that, they refused to make us a second drink. Nevertheless, the other table still got a drink. Cocktails were not much. I don't recommend it just because of the service, which will spoil your mood for the whole evening.

This is a dirty restaurant with the worst dishes and services. We first found a maggot on the water jar. When I showed it to the waitress, they simply took the jar away, wiped it and added more water, without even an apology! We should have left right there. After long time, our dishes arrived. The meat was all way over-cooked, dark and harder than a jerky. The sides were heated instead of freshly cooked. The cucumber salad was swimming in a plate full of diluted watery sour cream. When we complained, the waiter simply shrugged his shoulder and again didn't even bother to say sorry. Only we were sorry to have gone there.

BEWARE. This restaurant has changed hands and the new owners are still posting the old info, reviews and menu. Went there on Thursday evening 11 May 2017 and there were NO customers. Asked to see the menu and there were no lamb, duck, venison and whole grilled fish entrees as before -- only ordinary chicken and pork dishes you can find at any fast food restaurant steam table. The waiter explained the new management situation and apologized. We left without ordering.

It is cheap and you can find good meals usually. The environment is clean and normal. The foods are often repeating but the menu contains much to select from every day.

Best quality served in the city. Exceptional vibe. Broad choices of natural wines and great quality of foods. Various pairing options such as fresh served oyster with chablis (they serve different menus every week). Great value for the amazing dinner. I won't hesitate to visit again.

Great food but the portion is too small for the price

The interior design is minimalist and industrial. The bakery products are a bit overpriced but it is due to the fact that you will have artisian food. We bought "bornholmi" bread and a danish pastry which were deli. The coffee is also good and strong. Overall, if you want a unique experience, have a try. We loved it.

An excellent experience – for lunch, we tried a 5-course menu selected by the chef, accompanied by a glass of champagne. A super modern approach to food made with lots of love, a fantastic ambiance and atmosphere, and to top it all off, we bought some amazing bread for dinner. Highly recommended!

had to wait a very long time for the food. Not at all impressed with the food I ordered. Definitely do not associate french fries with Mexican food, which both me and my partner got. I had expected much more from the visit.

There's new ownership at the place. The meals are almost the same, the taste is good (as it was before), but the prices became really high, and the portions are about half the size as it was before (as seen on the picture). Cocktail prices remained the same but what's used to be 0.5 l, now it's 0.3 l.

We stopped by for the second time. However, the first positive experience there were many negatives. The white wine what we have ordered had to be replaced cuz it was dirty and The waiter forgot to bring cutlery which I had to go and get it.

the whole city and restaurant is beautiful. bit ancient but gorgeous, has a captivating appearance, style. +the restaurant is spacious enough, there are huge tables you can bring family/friends with yourself and you have space to sit comfotably enough. +there are many kind of dishes and drinks you can choose from, not that expensive, but quality has never been free! everything was perfectly made, tasty, juicy, soft etc. +people working there are so nice and helpful, elegant, they all know what they do. they are perfect waiters. +we've had time to keep a private, solid birthday there, and have been there for 4hrs which is a nice memory. the temperature was perfect, cozy lights, gives an exact Italien vibe! i loved it💯

First of all, very expensive for no reason. Service price is included which is terribly expensive too, 4k for two people. The place is okay, food not big enough, one plate of pasta is 6k. I would call it a tourist trap/ attraction. Service is very slow, we had to wait 45 minutes for two plates of pasta. Waiters are a bit moody too. Shame that in the heart of Pécs we have such a restaurant. And a bottle of wine is waaaaay overpriced. Would not recommend! Oh! And before i forget to mention, one of the waiters made a couple sit next to a family.. Organization of inside is a bit unorganized. Waiters are aloof to the situation.

We were travelling from Szeged and came to this restaurant. The pizza recommended by the waiter was awesome! And the pasta was perfectly cooked al dente with lots of seafood toppings. You can’t get this quality pasta in Szeged. Absolutely loved it! The waiters were all super nice.

I eat there usually, the food is very good, especially their pizza, it's italian quality and remind me of real italian pizza. But there is a huge problem with the service. (Its not uncommon in Hungary.) They dont greet back, don't treat us well. Felt uncomfortable there, and the atmosphere was frozen and quite. Quite like you can't speak because everyone would hear it. Go there at summer, when the terrace is open, it has a great feeling in the heart of Pécs!

Unexpectedly delightful Italian dinner in Pecs. The homemade pasta with zucchini beef and truffle was perfectly flavored. The wood fired pizza had a nice chewy crust that held the ingredients well. Service was excellent. I would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The pasta was not cooked properly, and when we asked for it to be redone, the staff’s response was unprofessional—they told us that since we had already eaten some, they wouldn’t fix it. This is not the level of service one expects from a reputable establishment. Additionally, the attitude of the staff was rude and unhelpful. A restaurant should prioritize customer satisfaction, and unfortunately, this place fell short. I would not recommend it based on this experience.

Good service, nice place in the city. The kitchen is well, but I was surprised to see Kiev meatball here. Of course, I know what is it, but here it is just fried chicken. Lemonade was perfect)

I have only tried the pizza here, and it is phenomenal, very tasty, well balanced, and really filling.

After arriving in Pecs this is the first place we visited. Ordered one pizza margarita and chicken with mushrooms and bacon around. Food was great, everything came really fast. Staff was very pleasing and nice. Prices are average and I would recommend everyone to visit.

Nice place for a drink or light meal. They serve 0% beer, what is good for people who drive. Smoking area outside, quick table service, nice staff. There was no anything really to be mentioned. Good place for people watch. Good music, atmosphere. Great view of the Széchenyi Square. Great location, close to all the main city attractions. Worth a visit, I only can recommend it!

It is a nice place with a warm atmosphere. I ordered the crispy chicken burger, the bun was a bit dry and hard to bite, but overall tasty!

We stopped in to have dinner. Was served by a nice young man. We had a delicious bottle of Hungarian white wine. Needed an ice bucket as it wasn’t cold enough. The pork schnitzel was delicious. My order was initially mixed up but quickly remedied. Would go back.

Had a wonderful breakfast here. I enjoyed the loco moco which seems out of place in Hungary but very delicious. There was also a sweet meal that has no English translation but is similar to funnel cake or pancake in small chunks with peach jam. Very good!

Fast service. Excellent pork ribs. The beef fillet is not tender and I was not even asked which level to make, got medium well... Salmon is OK.

Was promptly seated inside and the décore was really nice. Was impressed with the menu as well. Gabriel our waiter was a pro and served us our drinks. I had the goulash soup which was delicious. Served with 3 slices of bread and hot peppers to garnish if needed. We both had the fish and chips. The fries were excellent and the fish was moist and flaky but could have been crispier. Équivalent to $78 for the meal including tax and tip. A fair price for North American standards. Would definitely go back.

We have been there for lunc. The wiskey burger was really good and delicious. The staff speak english as well. You can pay separately at bar as well which is good option. They have terrace as well.

We sat for a coffee, not for a lunch. While most of the drinks (and coffees) were good, two were surreal. Espresso was so small that it was maybe 1/4 of a normal sip. This has to be the smallest cup of espresso in the world! What a joke...

Great pizza and wine! Indoor and outdoor seating. The high chairs near the door need moving as it knocks your chair every time someone comes in or out of the door. Service a little hit and miss depending on who serves you.

With the right expectations it's not bad: food was edible, service feelt like you're one of the 1,000 other guests they serve. Ordered "gulyas". Nothing special, but if one is hungry it's fine. Blöff Bistro is better, Kossuth Kisvendéglő even better for local Hungarian food.

Absolutely loved the burgers! Went during valentines day and although I didn’t make an appointment, they still let me in, which was sweet. The wait was long due to the holiday but it was fine by me. Staff were nice and sweet. Recommend if you want a good burger in Pécs.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Bazár. Location is perfect near the Mosque. We had a burger with coctail and lemonade. Dish was delicious, drinks were refreshing, waiters were friendly and polite. It is worth a try!

It was really cozy, the drinks & food were fire and the employees were also really kind. There was also free WiFi.

Craft beer and burger selection is just awesome. Staff is sooo helpfull and kind, they will go to extra lengths to find a perfect beer for you.

I was having a very good dinner with my wife at this restaurant few days ago, menu is different from most touristic restaurants in Pecs. A good thing for us. Soups of the day were good, we liked it, also the main courses. Freshly cooked, good and fair combination of ingredients, good presentation and quantity. Good selection of wines, bottle and glass. A very honest place, it was a satisfying experience for us. It's definitely a comeback place.

Delicious food and superb service for good price. The whole pork knuckle was a bit undercooked, even though the name said it's crispy. The other dish and the dessert was amazing. The waitress was super kind. An annoying thing was a cat that was meowing half the time near our table, asking for food.

Fantastic place, probably the best restaurant (with Hungarian cuisine) in Pecs! Their spécialité de la maison is ham hock (smoked or roasted). Long menu with many positions eg. super tasty mushroom soup. Perfect ingredients and preparation & amazing service = unforgettable dinner!

I've been here twice in 6 months. On both occasions my food was fantastic. The service is great and the outside areas are a joy to use during dine weather. I regularly spend a week in Pesc and I will eat here twice in that time - it's just that good!

A restaurant that operates in a gas station... The menu is in Italian, with the local language and English in small print. It's like having to speak Chinese to order at a Chinese restaurant. The waiters are jerks, serving with a kind of aristocratic disdain in this painfully kitschy environment. The food is average, but overpriced. I'm definitely not spending my money here next time.

I wanted to try this place due to the reviews. Disappointing unfortunately. Walked into the place made eye contact with 3 different staff but no acknowledgement,a simple hello would be OK. Food is overpriced for the quality, sorry to say those who have not tasted real Italian food will find this acceptable. Theres a few few authentic Italian restaurants in neighbouring towns that would make this restaurant look like a overpriced takeaway. To add to the amazing experience a service charge was added to the bill without consent! Very disappointing. The pricing of this place does not reflect the level of food quality. I would not recommend.

Highly recommend this real Italian restaurant. Good taste and clean and fresh food and nice stuff. Only one is not good. The serve only small bottle of beers and expensive too,and often don't have alcohol free beers and vines. Asking about this they look at me as a aliens. Because almost everybody coming with cars, and the penalty in Hungary is very high when you drive with alcohol.

Well i haven’t been to this place for 5 years and now the conclusion , the quality of the pizza is j ! perfectly delicious and just like it was 5 years ago , the same goes for tiramisu but the service quality‘s just ridiculous, unfriendly. They definitely need practice some manner and politeness cus probably i rather go the next few years to another place where u got the feeling that u r customer. This was such a brilliant dining experience in Pécs. I was here visiting the university (also very nice) and this was highly rated. We asked our server what his favorite local dish was and he said the catfish stew with cottage cheese noodles. It was brilliant! If you can handle heat get the tomato peppers which are super spicy and added a nice kick to the dish. Would recommend it!

The atmosphere is good, the food portion is quite good, the prices are reasonable and not expensive. And the beer was so good the crafted one and the cherry (the cherry one doesn't have the usual cherry bitter taste) On the other hand, the rice was a bit not well cooked, and we had to wait a bit more than usual for the food, (if it's not the daily menu).

Great authentic Hungarian restaurant in central location! They serve an affordable daily lunch menu until 3 pm (soup + main dish). The dinner portions are larger than the lunch menu portions. We took half of our meals home after dinner. Everything was well cooked, seasoned and presented. The pricing besides the lunch menu is OK but I wouldn't say it's cheap. Note, that sides are ordered for additional charge. They accept credit cards. Customers pay their bill at the bar.

Amazing restaurant! Location is good, easy to locate. Spacious family restaurant with high chair for kids. The food was delicious absolutely authentic Hungarian food. We ordered Salmon Steak, Beef Stake, Risotto and Pasta. The portions were so big that one person couldn’t finish one full plate. The waitress was humble and extremely polite. I will come back here again when I am in Pècs.

We reserved a table on a Saturday, which is not our favourite day... The restaurant is very near (at the formerly mosque) to the center. No seats outside. The waiter, who speaks English and German, explained everything in detail and gave us perfect recommedations, including a bottle of local red wine. Every dish was extrodinary: Variation of Hummus & Beef tartar, home made ravioli & chicken, desert. Menu is changing often, so no more description. Probably the best restaurant in Pécs, "Böff" maybe the second one. Please give them a chance they are amazing!

One of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure to enjoy. Cobb salad was amazing and the wild boar stew was exceptionally good. I would eat every meal here when I am in Pécs if I could!

The atmosphere was lovely when we had dinner there and the duck meat was fine. (Though they had to bring only boiled potatoes because I couldn't get the real plate due to lactose intolerace.) In fact, it would be nice to have such options as a fine-dining place.

The dining room in the ground floor left hand wing of the hotel is beautiful with a wonderful atmosphere. We mostly had the buffet meals, Breakfast and Dinners included with our stay over the New Year break. Buffet meals were only just passable, frequently very very salty, and very rich, like most hotel buffets in Hungary I've sampled over the years. I really had to pick and choose to find something I was able to eat. The light Lunchs we ordered at the restaurant from an A La Carte menu were a different story, absolutely delicious, beautifully plated and very moorish. Staff at all meals are helpful and friendly, although sometimes when they were fully booked, quite a bit of hand waving was required.

Nice place for cheap sunday brunch. Relatively simple but good quality and good service in the heart of historical Pecs. Pleasant atmosphere and live mini orchestra doing popular international repertoire. Bring the kids. Have fun! 🍷

Very tasty vegan dishes and good portions at a pretty nice spot in the center of Pécs. Can only recommend the restaurant. The only small problem was the speed of taking and preparing our orders, we waited over an hour. Was starving by the end.

So good! You will definitely not leave this place hungry! An absolutely fantastic price for the daily special menu (2,490 forint/£5.66 for both soup and main course. Today the offer was roasted beetroot soup, followed by tomato/pesto/parmesan pasta). Food portions are very generous, and both courses were totally delicious. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, the staff friendly. I can't recommend LYR highly enough. Thank you ❤️

This is more of a conference centre/wedding venue with wine cellars underneath. Not a restaurant at all. The venue is a large empty room that can be set up for multiple purposes. Quite nice looking, very modern but not much atmosphere. We were there for a wine tasting and cellar tour organised by the Palatinus hotel as part of our stay over the New Year. After the sparkling wine tasting we were led on a tour down into the extensive cellars of what used to be a Sparkling Wine/Champagne style cellar. Now mostly empty and in disuse they are remarkably large going down at least 3-4 levels and a seeming maze of corridors and tunnels. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave lots of information about the winery and Cellars history. We enjoyed our time, well worth the visit.

The place is good for business dinners and also for quick daily lunches. I like the historical athmosphere, the food, that is slightly above the average. The staff is kind of novice. What is a must see is the sparkling wine manufacturing and the medieval cathacomb system that is 7 stories below the ground and even a horse cart can turn around inside, that big are the caves.

Nice classy restaurant

A very elegant restaurant near Lake Orfu where you can enjoy excellent dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. The service is perfect, with very kind girls. Since the weather was nice, we ate outside in the garden. The only suggestion I can make is to have more shade at the tables. As Italians, we chose the spaghetti with shrimp and penne with blue cheese, walnuts, and spinach, and it was excellent, al dente, just how we like it. The pizza was also excellent, with a delicious crust. For those who prefer meat, don't miss the Argentine steak or the saltimbocca alla romana. Delicious. For those in the area who want to eat well, this restaurant is a must. We didn't ate dessert, but we couldn't miss the coffee with sambuca and coffee beans inside. I thank Kinga (I think that's her name) for the quick, kind, and fast service she provided at the table.

We were on a festival for a week and we tried this restaurant a couple of times. It's not so big but it has enough tables. There are an outdoor side in the front and in the background as well. The variety of meals are small but they are really delicious. Waiters are very friendly, quick and helpful. There are smoker tables in the front.

Unexperienced waiters who does not pay attention to the guests. Simplistic food on an overpriced menu. Nothing special but expensive.

One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve tried in Pécs so far! The flavours were rich and authentic, exactly how Italian food should taste. I’ve been to a few places that didn’t feel genuine, but this one stands out. The seafood was fresh, portions were generous, and prices were really fair. Highly recommend!

Service was good. Pizza was really good. although they put parsley on the pizza, which was strange for me(and i dont like parsley), so the owner offered me a new marinara w basil. The owner is very friendly guy walking around customers and chatting with us. Good place to have a pizza.

We had a very disappointing experience here due to the service. We waited more than 30 minutes to place our order, even though we waved to our waiter several times. He clearly saw us but chose to ignore us. Eventually, I went up to the bar to ask if we could order, and the lady behind the bar gave me an attitude, saying they were understaffed. While I understand staffing issues can happen, it is not the customer’s problem especially after waiting so long. After that, our waiter finally came over and confronted us, asking if we couldn’t see they were understaffed. His “apology” felt insincere and more like annoyance. He even asked in a rude tone if we wanted anything free, which only made the situation more uncomfortable and humiliating. The tall waiter in particular seemed to dislike dealing with customers, and the lady at the bar wasn’t much better. If customer service is this unpleasant, then perhaps working directly with people is not the right job for them. Overall, the service completely ruined our visit, and I would not recommend this restaurant.

We had nice dinner here, the owners were nice and friendly. Very nice family restaurant with great Italian music. We are coming back one day for sure.

Nice terrace with beautiful view, and more or less that's all. Maybe the better time for visiting this place is evening ( maybe latter is better). For late Sunday lunch wasn't a best choice. Food is bad quality, portions are poor, and expense. However it is far away for good decision to eat there. There are much better places for eating in Pécs. A big minus here are wasps who are dangerous if you are eating a meat meal.

The place is amazing, especially at night. You feel like entering different world. The beer is good and same is valid for the BBQ. If you are looking for a place to relax after dinner this is the perfect one also.

Overall its a very good place to chill relax and have fun. However, not sure what the employees have been through each day but they tend to be very disrespectful to the customers especially non-hungarian people. There are some who are nice and some who are really disrespectful, not being able to talk nicely with their customers and not being able to even kindly ask for certain permission for example turning off the TV while customers are watching. No doubt a very good place to dine but atleast have some respect to others who are non-hungarian as well.....

Nice beer garden. But also perfect for dining and having a good glass of wine. The perfect spot to enjoy the evening with friends and definitely the best option you can get to watch a soccer game im the upcoming World Championship.

On the top of the world is this resning place located. A hot and good walk up to it which passes some scenic places. You can see half of Pecs from here. It's a rather unique place because the TV tower has just become hidden behind the North hills. The service is really slow, but after walking here the resting is OK.

You can enjoy the view of the city in this cozy place. Their coffee and pancake are delicious and the cold beer was good too. It is a pleasant pastime under the huge trees. The staff is OK.

There is no doubt that you will have a very unique view in the terrace! The home-made traditional Hungarian desserts were amazing and they also offer free wi-fi! (You'll need it when your mobile does not work in the mountain.) Regarding the taste of coffee, I think it was fine. But I must also say that the owners are so lovely!

I went there few days ago, it stank inside literally. The food was also gross, dry and tasteless. I don't understand what is worth the price of these meals? There's nothing worthy paying for. The inside wasn't that clean at all. Also I noticed that the owner or the administrator whoever that was, wasn't nice to the workers at all, I think as a vegetarian if you are that nice to think about animals' feelings, you should first be nice to people! Wouldn't eat at a such place ever again!

An absolutely fantastic and really special place that we can only recommend. I myself am an absolute carnivore but loved all the (vegan) dishes I tried here. The watermelon soup was absolutely beautiful. All in all, a real gourmet experience.

Very bad experience. Purchased a '1 szemelyes bőség tál' and a pizza, delivered by Foodpanda. The pizza was simple dreadful. From the other meal, there were missing things, like the bacon or the onion. I do not recommend.

The food is like home made, a lot of dishes that you can eat there are not available in other restaurants. No spicy food. If you like hot and spicy, it is better to bring some chili drops or powder with you. The place is clean including the loo as well. You can ask your meal as take away too.

I wanted to try the restaurant (which normally closes at 10pm) I went there around 8:50pm and the Guy said that he closed the register, I asked why he said they didn’t have no more meals (do idk if they had premade meal but yeah ) that I found a bit off but is allright (the menu offer a lot of choices normally) First day when I was ready to leave my room, the lady that was cleaning the opposite room told me to let it open, (I guess because she wanted to clean it, or change the sheets and blankets and so on) but I came back and the room was exactly as before and for the entire stay never changed. On the first day I informed her and the reception, that the light in the toilet wasn’t working. Both said yes but the bulb lamp was not replaced so for the stay I used a lamp from the room and plugged it in the toilet. Room has the AC but no remote (same for my friend in a different room) For the rest breakfast offer lot of variety savory, sweet, cold meat, cheese, yoghurt, cereal etc. Gym also top super clean, has most of the equipments 🔝 As said previously, beside few negative points I highly recommend.
