Perched on a hill overlooking the Caspian Sea, Flame Towers in Baku is a striking trio of skyscrapers that pay homage to Azerbaijan's ancient reverence for fire. These iconic glass high rises, ranging from 36 to 39 stories, are designed to resemble flames and can be spotted from various vantage points across the city. The towers' evening light shows create a mesmerizing spectacle, evoking dancing tongues of flame against the night sky.
The Flame Towers are stunning both day and night, but especially beautiful after sunset. The LED light shows that illuminate the towers create a magical atmosphere, and when viewed from Highland Park or the Caspian promenade, they blend perfectly with the sparkling city lights of Baku. A must-see landmark that defines the modern face of the city.
Alperen Ü — Google review
It’s nice place to visit in evening if you want good view this is my opinion The Flame Towers in Baku truly nice place to visit , no matter where you view them from in the city with nice and modern structure especially at night , we just take a ticket for the ride for going up it’s like 2 manat for one person we as family really like the ride also then they drop us up next to the flame tower you can enjoy there full view of the towers are always like shimmering flames. With small garden and sea view and you can see crescent mall from top view – a must-see for any visitor. Beautiful, bold, and symbolic, the Flame Towers great example of architecture really like the view in evening up there restaurant also you can enjoy and have pictures while coming down choice is your if you are coming back by stairs or same train ride we really enjoy the view so we use stairs ❤️❤️❤️ click a lot of pictures while coming down overall love the experience
Maha P — Google review
Flame Towers are great to visit but it is mainly a hotel and restaurant on 19th floor. The central terrace is actually a pool deck and accessible for residents only. Best is a 15 minute walk to the Manzara Restaurant for the magnificent Baku City view. Do this you will not regret it.
Evert M — Google review
Really amazing architecture and cool buildings. We viewed them from the park nearby and watched the colours at night. It's better to see them in the dark when they light up
Jayni S — Google review
The Flame Towers in Baku truly make an impression, no matter where you view them from in the city. Their sleek, modern design and glowing presence – especially at night – dominate the skyline and give Baku a unique, futuristic character. Whether you’re walking along the Caspian promenade or exploring the old city, the towers are always there, watching over the capital like shimmering flames. They’ve become a distinctive and iconic part of Baku – a must-see for any visitor. Beautiful, bold, and symbolic, the Flame Towers are more than just architecture; they’re a statement of how tradition and modernity blend in this fascinating city.
Kasia Z — Google review
The Flame Towers are an iconic symbol of modern Baku. Their impressive architecture and dynamic LED displays, especially at night, are truly mesmerizing. A must-see landmark that beautifully lights up the city skyline.

The Heydar Aliyev Centre in Baku is a modern and spacious cultural complex that includes an auditorium, art gallery, and museum dedicated to the country's former president. Designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid, this architectural marvel features soaring white curves and a timber-lined concert hall. Despite its controversial political associations, it has garnered international acclaim for its design and won the Design of the Year award in 2014.
One of the most beautiful designs and interesting, varied and so unusual art exhibitions I have been too. It's definitely worth a visit... (The ticket office and entrance is still a bit confusing - maybe temporary?)
Vincent O — Google review
The building is one of a kind and can not be missed visiting when you are in Baku. The entry ticket is 15 mannat and I would suggest skip buying the car museum ticket of 10 mannat. Inside its more of a Art and architecture museum which might be loved by artistic tourist but not to attractive for a common tourist. Its a symbolic place in baku and you should not miss it.
Mehul M — Google review
The Haider Aliyev Center is a beautiful museum — truly a masterpiece of modern architecture. Inside, it’s full of fascinating art and crafts ranging from historical artifacts to contemporary works. If you’re an art lover, this place is a must-visit. There are separate sections dedicated to different art forms, and in Basement 3, you’ll find a collection of vintage cars that’s absolutely stunning. Each car is a piece of history, and you’ll love exploring them. Overall, it’s a perfect blend of culture, creativity, and elegance — a place where every corner has something to admire.
Jawad F — Google review
A carefully designed center that displays different styles of art. You can wander around for about two hours. It seems like a whole. This was my first visit to this place and I felt amazingly impressed. I highly recommend to everyone who comes to visit Baku. This puts their credit in visiting this wonderful place.
Mina M — Google review
What a place! The building is amazing! The art collection is amazing. The African artist featured is amazing. In the basement is a collection of priceless cars. Absolutely stunning. The building itself is amazing. You have to come and visit this place.
Slamdunk F — Google review
Beautiful building and interesting display of elements with cultural and historical significance. It’s a huge building and if you are with kids or seniors you may need the full day. The only criticism is that the building and surrounding is bot very accessible with people with mobility issues like seniors or families with strollers. For example the building entrance has very steep ramps for visitors on feet. Or stairs are very large but elevator are tiny.
Moh R — Google review
A very well designed center. The exhibitions are in different styles and can attract everyone's attention in terms of variety of subjects. The musical instruments section really caught my attention, it was the best area I've seen. You can tour for almost 4 hours. The classic car exhibition is very nice, the only problem is that the -3 floor is too hot. The museum has lockers. There is a suitable place for bags and suitcases.
Atalay Ç — Google review
An architectural masterpiece by Zaha Hadid, the Heydar Aliyev Center is one of Baku’s most stunning landmarks. Its flowing, futuristic design and bright, airy interiors make it a must-visit for architecture and culture lovers alike.

The Azerbaijan Carpet Museum is a cultural institution in Baku that showcases the art of carpet weaving, Azeri ceramics, and costumes. Established in 2009, it features an extensive collection of Western modernists like Picasso and Chagall, as well as avant-garde works from Azerbaijan. Situated near the Caspian Sea on a sunny boulevard, the museum's unique rug-shaped architecture makes it a prominent landmark.
Great display of art , arguably one of the best museums I have been to . The place really shows us the origin and history of these great designs and their creators. Going through these floors of craft really opened my mind to so many different ideologies and perspectives. Very simple yet detailed chronological timeline of material . Truly beautiful. A place worth visiting .
Sajal — Google review
The museum is good for those who like textiles and see something different. It might not be suitable for children because you can't touch anything. The fee is 10 Manats per person. The ground floor is a show room, and cafe. The second floor for different textiles and tools used for weaving or living in the past. On the second floor, there are two women weaving carpet, old carpets, a traditional room and dresses. Not that big but it is rich in information.
Abdulrahman A — Google review
Even if you don't have an interest in carpets, you will love this place. The museum is massive and has so many carpets on display. The building itself is amazing.
Ash C — Google review
Beautiful Neat and clean museum to visit Was expecting some dust but was pleasantly surprised to not see a speck of dust or wool threads in the air Loved all sections; a fan of art will love this place They have preserved Carpets from the 14th Century till now and covered all aspects of Carpet making weaving designing knitting and how they are used in the culture and life of their country It is a delight to watch the lady knitting so effortlessly yet with such dedication inside the museum in the demo area Absolute Must visit in Baku
Needhi S — Google review
The museum was nice, we looked at so many beautiful carpets and vases and other metal and ceramic tools The 3rd floor didn’t have much to do in it The shop was very expensive
Leen ( — Google review
This is not a museum for everyone. It is beautifully designed and explains well about carpets, rugs and other tools and products made in a very artistic way, but it is rather boring.
Sunny S — Google review
Interesting look at the history of carpet. If you like textiles you will want to enjoy the guided tour.

The Palace of the Shirvanshahs is a 15th-century palace complex located in the Inner City of Baku, Azerbaijan. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List and considered one of Azerbaijan's architectural gems. The complex includes a main building, burial vaults, a mosque with a minaret, and other structures like a mausoleum and bathhouse remnants.
Very nice place to visit and immerse in the history. It takes around 40 minutes to visit all sites. Tickets price is good. In the site you can make some photos in the traditional decor. This place is situated in the heart of the old town. I recommend to visit Palace of the Shirvanshahs.

I love visiting UNESCO sites, and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs in Baku is truly special. The architecture, history, and atmosphere inside the old city make it a place that connects you to the past in such a beautiful way.
Joyce D — Google review
Beautiful palace worth visiting , nestled in the heart of old town Baku and easily accessible by foot , we spent few hours looking at this incredible place and were very lucky to get informative commentary by one of the security officers who helped us navigate this place more easily , highly recommended for history lovers
Sihem S — Google review
If you're into history, this is a must visit on Baku. They have partial payment for the sections in the complex. If you visit the main complex (which I believe is enough for a regular tourist) you pay around 15 manat as a foreign, which is OK. Inside you'll find tombs, court, mosque, yard and pretty much a palace complex overall. There also souvenir shops inside, though items were a bit overpriced. I only reduce 1 star because the information on the labels wasn't enough in my opinion. I'm not sure if it was done intentionally (so that you hire a guide?) or not, but it was very brief what you read about a structure.
Eren Y — Google review
This is a nice monument to visit. You don't need a guide. You can walk around it at your leisure and take in the rich history of this place. It's a small palace but well preserved.
Slamdunk F — Google review
Entry fee is 15AZN. Once you get inside there is a special museum kind of where guard will block you entering telling ticket is not included as entry price should have been 20AZN. This was not initially mentioned while purchasing the entry ticket. Really not worth visiting for the price. We entered at 6PM on Saturday and palace was closed by 6:50PM. Entry they were allowing almost till 6:30PM.
Bharath B — Google review
A very beautiful and historic place to visit. Great for those who love culture and architecture. However, I recommend introducing a combined tourist pass for all attractions in the area buying separate tickets (around 15 Manat each) becomes quite expensive. Overall, a great experience!
Abdullah H — Google review
This is a royal place that tells historical stories in its light. It is located in the old city of Baku. The entrance ticket price is 15 manats. It includes a group of artistic, cultural and archaeological life that narrates the details and events.

The Heydar Mosque, situated in the Binagadi district of Baku, is a significant religious symbol named after the esteemed former president of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev. This grand architectural masterpiece was unveiled in 2014 and boasts traditional Azerbaijani and Islamic design elements alongside modern features.
We had the privilege to visit the Heydar Mosque during our trip, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The mosque stands as a magnificent example of modern Islamic architecture, blending tradition with contemporary elegance. Its pristine white structure, symmetrical design, and serene ambiance leave a lasting impression. The interiors are equally breathtaking — spacious, calm, and spiritually uplifting. Whether you’re there to pray or simply to admire the craftsmanship, the mosque offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s bustle. A must-visit landmark in Baku that beautifully reflects the city’s cultural and architectural richness.
Zulfiqar A — Google review
Very impressive mosque. The only annoying thing is that we had guards somehow telling us we couldn't take pictures of the mosque with a professionnal camera... which is a waste of pretty architecture if you ask me. I only managed to take these two before they asked me to stop
Amine A — Google review
Beautiful peaceful place, relatively new modern buildings representing modern national pride and religious revival. worth a visit. Staff were helpful and let us visit inside while the door was closed. Recommended to people visiting Baku.

Beautiful mosque with a lovely view of the surrounding areas. The main section of the mosque seemed to be closed when I visited so had to visit the men’s portion which seems to be on the ground floor on the side (there seemed to be a a separate section for females as well)

Nizami St, located in the heart of Baku, is a bustling pedestrian street known for its elegant buildings, upscale fashion boutiques, and diplomatic missions. This central shopping district stretches along the Caspian Sea and showcases a mix of architectural styles, from 19th-century neo-renaissance to Socialist blocks. The area is also home to the vibrant Icherisheher (Old City) with its charming antique and souvenir shops.

Fountains Square, located in the heart of Baku, has a rich history dating back to pre-revolutionary times when it was initially planned as a park. The square is adorned with numerous classic and modern fountains, making it a picturesque spot for visitors. It's also a shopper's paradise, featuring high-end fashion boutiques and stylish restaurants. Bookworms can explore the English language selection at Ali & Nino Bookstore or participate in their free book-swap shelf in the cafe.
This Fountain Square is a really great place with lots of restaurants surrounding and obviously lots of fountains. As we were staying in a hotel quite close, we had a number of walks around the square and dinner overlooking it. It certainly is a very vibrant place in the downtown area of Baku. It was formerly known as Parapet and is famous for its numerous fountains, which were first built during the Soviet era. It is surrounded by many boutiques, restaurants, cafes & shops. And it is also a pedestrian only which makes walking around quite attractive. It is deceptively big stretching over a number of streets.
Ross D — Google review
Open, paved, calm area in the mornings. Of course, several different fountains with intriguing designs. I'm impressed how clean everything is!
Vincent O — Google review
Fountains Square is a lively and beautiful place, especially during the evenings. I visited with my family and we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the atmosphere and tried the Flaker cinnamon cake — soft, warm, and full of flavor! A perfect treat while walking around the square. Annual celebrations and festivals are held here, along with delicious food stalls. I highly recommend visiting it during New Year’s Eve.
Ali A — Google review
Fountain Square is one of the most iconic and vibrant places in the heart of Baku. Located near Nizami Street and just a short walk from the Old City (Icherisheher), it serves as a central gathering point for both locals and tourists. The square dates back to the Soviet era, and its name comes from the numerous decorative fountains installed throughout the area — many of which were built in the 1950s–70s. While the original purpose was mostly ornamental, today they are symbolic of the lively social atmosphere of the city. The square has been renovated several times and now blends modern urban design with historical character.
Alperen Ü — Google review

Highland Park, also known as Viewing Park, is a stunning destination in Baku, Azerbaijan. It features an elevated terrace that provides breathtaking views of the city and the sea. The park boasts a diverse collection of trees from around the world, making it an ideal spot for family outings or educational experiences. Visitors can explore the vast green spaces and leafy trees while taking in panoramic views of Baku's iconic landmarks such as Maiden Tower, Flame Towers, Flag Square, and more.
We visited Highland Park in the afternoon when it was quite hot in Baku, but surprisingly, it felt much cooler up there. Since it’s located on a high hill, the fresh air and plenty of trees made it a perfect escape from the heat. The park offers stunning panoramic views of the city, Flame Towers, and the Caspian Sea. It’s especially beautiful around sunset or at night when the city lights shine. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. The park is very clean, well-organized, with shaded areas, benches, and lots of greenery. You can visit historical landmarks like Martyrs' Alley and the eternal flame, making it both a scenic and meaningful place. Highly recommended if you're in Baku — whether you want a peaceful walk, some great photos, or a quiet moment with a view.

Loved the experience here. You can see the flame towers so close, and the fire is a view to behold in itself. You can see the whole city from the top and it looks mesmerizing. Every shot from this place looks like a postcard. The wind is fierce so I suggest taking a light jacket at least. I heard many people complain about the stairs, but it's not bad tbh. You can take rests and click pictures on your way to the top. Highly recommend.

Spectacular view if Caspian sea and the Baku city coast line below. Signsture views of the Flame Towers which are on top of the hill as well. You can walk up the hill (stairs or road) or take the funicular. As many have mentioned, the sunset views with the Flame Buildings is not to be missed (just kind of busy). The Eternal Flame at the top along Martrys' Line commemorating Black January was kind of a bonus...another traveler told me about it

Highland Park in Baku is a beautiful place to visit. The view of the city and the Caspian Sea from the top is amazing. The park is clean, peaceful, and perfect for walking or taking pictures. You can also see the Flame Towers clearly from there. It’s one of the best spots to enjoy sunset in Baku. Definitely worth visiting!
Adeel A — Google review
What a view - we went up at day and night and it really is breathtaking. The only reason it doesn't score 5 stars is that we took the funicular up the mountain and still had to walk up and down about 200 steps!! It's like they put the end in the wrong location - when you get there the view is completely obscured by trees and you need to go down 2 flights of stairs, up 2 flights and then down 1 and up another 2 (or something like that!!). We visited Highland Park during the daytime, thinking we’d enjoy the famous views over Baku... and while the panorama truly is spectacular, the heat was next level. 🥵 Midday sun, no shade, lots of stairs — not ideal unless you enjoy slow roasting. Honestly, if you’re planning a visit, avoid going at noon or in the afternoon during summer. Early morning or sunset would be much more enjoyable (and survivable). That said, the view over the Caspian Sea, Flame Towers, and the city skyline is absolutely worth seeing. It’s one of Baku’s best photo spots, especially if you’re into postcards or pretending you’re in a drone commercial. Just bring water, a hat, and maybe a personal fan if you're brave enough to go during the day.

Located in Baku, the Museum of Miniature Books is a unique and time-tested attraction that showcases an extensive collection of tiny books from over 60 countries. The museum, situated near the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, houses over 6,500 miniature books personally collected by Zarifa Salahova over three decades. Visitors can marvel at rare finds such as a miniature Quran and a Russian book that requires a magnifying glass to read.
The Museum of Miniature Books is a quaint and charming place to visit. I was told it’s the only museum of its kind in the world. It has a fascinating history and an incredible collection of tiny books—some of them truly unbelievable in their detail and size. A few were even available for purchase. Well worth a visit if you’re in Baku.

We made a quick 20 minute stop at the Miniature Books Museum and it was well worth it. The collection is fascinating, showcasing tiny books from all over the world. It’s amazing to see how much detail and history can be packed into something so small. The museum even holds a Guinness World Record, which made the visit feel even more special. A unique and charming spot that left us smiling.

Truly one of the best experiences I had in Baku. The books are a personal collection of a beautiful lady who collected all miniature books over 40 years of travels all over the world. It holds Guinness world record which was is super impressive as well. Definitely worth a visit if you are an avid reader and books lover! The staff at the museum is so kind, she helped me pick out a mini book magnet of a classic “Little Prince”, thank you so much ❤️ p.s: Museum is free to visit and definitely one of a kind!

Absolutely enchanting! The Miniatür Kitab Muzeyi (Baku Museum of Miniature Books) in the heart of İcheri Şəhər is unlike anything I’ve seen before. It's home to thousands of the tiniest books from over 80 countries — each one a piece of art and history. The museum holds a Guinness World Record, and once you step in, you'll see why. From a 17th-century miniature Qur’an to books that are just 2x2 mm in size, the collection is both impressive and heartwarming. A must-visit if you're in Baku — it's peaceful, inspiring, and completely unique. And most of all there's Gulnur - a sweet, super nice, beautiful girl who treated us not as customers but as friends & really went out of her way by showing us around the best shops to visit. If you are in the Old City of Baku, don't skip the Musuem & Gulnur. Both are great gems!

The Museum of Miniature Books in Baku, nestled within the Old City, is a delightful, free‑entry gem showcasing over 6,000 tiny books collected by Zarifa Salahova over 30 years. It holds the Guinness Record for the largest private collection of miniature books . Highlights include a 17th‑century miniature Qur’an, ultra‑micro Japanese flower books (2×2 mm), and teeny editions of Pushkin, Shakespeare, and modern works . Visitors praise the friendly, informed staff and the museum's cozy, focused display—it’s a quick 10–15 minute stop but leaves a big impression . Ideal for bibliophiles and curious travelers, this charming spot offers a unique peek into craftsmanship and literary history in miniature form.

Dənizkənarı Milli Park, also known as The Boulevard, is a historic promenade along the Caspian Sea in Baku. It dates back over 100 years and was once home to the mansions of oil barons. Today, it offers a variety of recreational activities such as open-air and 5D cinemas, a 197-foot Ferris wheel, museums, restaurants, shopping areas, and more.
Baku Boulevard is truly one of the gems of the city — a perfect destination for families looking to unwind, have fun, and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. The area is exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained, with wide walkways and plenty of green space that make it a pleasure to stroll around. Whether you’re out for a relaxing walk or looking for something more active, I highly recommend renting a bike – it’s a fun and scenic way to explore the whole boulevard. And don’t miss out on the ice cream stands along the way – a sweet treat to top off the experience! Overall, it’s a peaceful and refreshing spot that combines nature, leisure, and family-friendly vibes. A must-visit when in Baku!

Baku Boulevard is a beautiful stretch along the Caspian — clean, spacious, and full of life. By day you can explore spots like Little Venice and enjoy the modern architecture, while at night the views and lights are amazing with people relaxing, eating, and music in the air. It’s very well kept (even the subways under the highway are spotless). Just a tip — watch out for a guy underground with a weight machine who can be pushy. On the boulevard itself, there are fun things like live chess matches and even quirky shops, I loved the designer cotton candy stand.

The Baku Boulevard area offers a captivating blend of modernity and cultural heritage. Strolling along the waterfront, you can admire the stunning views of the Caspian Sea. Baku Boulevard is one of those rare places that blends peaceful seaside charm with modern energy. Stretching along the Caspian Sea, this promenade serves as Baku’s heartbeat, a place both locals and visitors flock to day and night. Green, welcoming vibe: The boulevards, gardens, fountains, and tree-lined paths offer a lush escape right in the city center . Iconic attractions: The Ferris Wheel (Baku Eye) offers a breathtaking view over the bay and city skyline . The Carpet Museum’s architecture, designed to look like a rolled-up rug is simply stunning . Little Venice is charming and romantic, especially if you take a ride in a gondola. The boulevard hosts concerts, outdoor events, street performances, art installations, you’ll feel the city’s creative pulse . Perfect for everyone: Whether you’re into jogging, cycling, people-watching, or just lounging on a bench with a coffee, there’s something here for every pace. Lots of cafés, outdoor restaurants, and shops line the promenade great for relaxing while you take in the views. Evening walks are magical—lights reflecting on the water, the Ferris wheel glowing, a gentle sea breeze. Definitely a mood-lifter. All in all, Baku Boulevard feels both timeless and alive, a perfect place for a stroll, a moment of calm, or just soaking up the soul of the city.

Atashgah Zoroastrian Fire Temple, located 21 km east of Baku, is an ancient complex that served as a place of worship for Hindus and Zoroastrians. Built in the 18th century by Indian merchants, it features a stoned-fenced courtyard and a Fireplace that ignites massive fires in the center and smaller ones on the rooftop corners.
A place of history, peace, and spiritual significance. Visiting the Atashgah Zoroastrian Fire Temple was a truly unique experience. The atmosphere is calm and respectful, and the temple itself holds deep cultural and religious importance for Zoroastrians. The sacred fire, which is said to have been burning for centuries, is a powerful symbol of continuity and faith. The architecture is simple yet dignified, with informative displays that explain the history and beliefs of Zoroastrianism. It's not just a spiritual site — it's also a fascinating look into one of the world’s oldest religions. The area is well-maintained, and visitors are kindly reminded to be respectful, which adds to the serene and contemplative atmosphere. Whether you're interested in religion, history, or culture, this place is well worth a visit.
Ailya K — Google review
During my trip to Baku, I visited the Atashgah Zoroastrian Fire Temple, and I would rate the experience 4 out of 5 stars. The temple is located a bit outside the city in Surakhani, but the drive was worth it. As soon as I entered, I was amazed by the calm and historical atmosphere. The temple is very well preserved, and the sacred fire burning in the middle is truly something special to see. It felt powerful knowing that centuries ago, Zoroastrians and even Hindu fire worshippers came here to pray. The museum inside the temple complex had interesting information in English, which helped me understand the background of the fire temple and its importance. The small rooms where monks lived made the experience feel more real and connected to the past. I didn’t give it a full 5 stars because the place is not very large, and I expected to see more original artifacts or guided tours. Also, some areas felt too modern or renovated. But overall, it was a peaceful and meaningful visit, and I’m glad I went. If you are interested in ancient religions or unique places, the Atashgah Temple is definitely worth a visit while in Baku.
Saim G — Google review
The Ateshgah Fire Temple was really interesting to visit. It’s built over natural gas vents where flames once burned on their own for centuries. The place has a calm atmosphere and gives a glimpse into how people once worshipped fire as a sacred element. It’s quite well maintained and easy to explore, with signs explaining the history. Definitely worth a stop if you’re exploring around Baku.
Lianna F — Google review
A well reconstructed temple and well presented with displays in the several small rooms. Going with a guide is recommended to help you understand the place and the two religions that worshipped here. Fascinating.

Interesting place to see. This fire is not eternal at present as coming from the Gaz pipe. On the site there is a restaurant and some shops with nice gifts. There is a bit of history of Zoroastrian,'s explained in the little rooms.
Magdalena K — Google review
Loved the visit to the Atashgah. The area is clean and wasn’t much touristy when we visited in July 2025. Souvenir shops nearby sell one of the best souvenirs. The temple compound itself isn’t too big and there isn’t much to do except knowing about the history of the temple and the area. Washrooms are outside the temple complex and are free to use. There is a nice small restaurant in the area with some yummy local food

The Azerbaijan State Museum of Art, established in 1936, showcases an extensive collection of Azeri and international art. With over 60 rooms filled with about 20% of its vast collection on display at any given time, the museum offers a diverse range of artworks. Visitors can explore European art alongside masterpieces from artists across the Caucasus, Central Asia, China, and Japan. It's a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts looking to immerse themselves in a rich cultural experience.
It is kind of funny how the staff stalks you around and watches your every move but I am used to this as someone who lives in the post-Soviet space regularly. Not the best selection of art, European or local, but it offers a glimpse into many styles and so on so it is not bad by any means. Well worth an hour or so.

10 AZN entry for foreigners, cash no cc accepted. An extra 2 AZN for a separate short Chinese exhibit. Three floors of art, the bottom floor mostly European artists, Italian and Dutch. Upper floor statues and paintings from local artists mostly from the middle of last century. A number of carpets, various artifacts throughout. I spent a good hour and some there. The building is nice, oddly there didn't seem to be anywhere to sit and ponder some the artwork. The beautiful garden with a fountain adjacent to this building is an excellent place to relax after.

Old City Baku, also known as Icherisheher, is the oldest part of the city and a hub for characterful antiques and souvenir shops. Nizami Street in the city center is bustling with shopping and strolling opportunities, while traditional bazaars offer a local experience with fresh produce from the country's fertile regions. The area was confined within fortified walls until the mid-19th century and has been recognized as a UNESCO-listed site.
For those who love Italian architecture and Italian small towns, then I will please you. You do not need to go there, just visit the old city in Baku. I was simply shocked by the color and originality of these streets.

Old City is the heart of Baku and my favorite place in the city. Walking through its narrow streets really makes you feel the spirit of the past. The stone walls, small shops, and calm atmosphere take you back in time. Many things here are overpriced, so I recommend bringing your own water and some snacks. Still, it’s a beautiful place to explore and just wander around without rushing.
Lazizbek E — Google review
The Old City of Baku is lovely. We enjoyed exploring the Old City several times. One complaint would be the city allowing cars in the old town. It made it difficult at times walking. I also felt uncomfortable with people asking repeatedly if we wanted a tour. I think banning cars and just having tour kiosks instead of people approaching you while walking is a better option for selling tours in the old city. Not a fan of dual pricing for tourist attractions, it's not a good look for a city trying to grow it's tourism industry. Tourists should never feel like they are being cheated or second class. Overall we loved the Old City and highly recommend allowing more then one day for exploration.

I attended a concert at Baku Crystal Hall today and, unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing even before the event began. Despite arriving early, we were forced to wait outside in extremely cold and windy weather. Volunteers on-site refused to let us inside and insisted we stay outside for over an hour, constantly delaying the announced entrance time without clear communication. Adding to the frustration, there were multiple entrances but absolutely no proper guidance. Volunteers were disorganized and kept directing guests to the wrong entrances, causing even more confusion and unnecessary delays. Overall, the lack of organization, poor crowd management, and disregard for guests’ comfort really ruined the start of what should have been an exciting evening. Very disappointing experience.

Although photography was restricted, Ayman's exceptional explanation made the experience perfectly vivid, it was like time traveling. Her tour is highly recommended for anyone fascinated by the intersection of literature and the history behind the author I enjoyed my visit and I can even explain it to my husband

Such a lovely place that offers an Arabic guide speaking guide with the entrance fee which is 10 manat- for foreigners. Another fabulous thing about this place is that it opens on a Monday unlike other museums, apparently most museums close on Mondays. You’re not allowed to take any pictures except once you are done with the tour by the front door. A great wholesome, cultural literary experience that’s very recommended. It’s also well located in the middle of Baku in Nizami Street.
Safad S — Google review
We went there with our teacher.. She explained us each and every thing.. It looks amazing
Aqasha D — Google review
I paid tribute to the great Persian poet and writer, Nizami. Interestingly, I've found that he never wrote a single line or verse in Turkish. As a history teacher, my credible and global sources confirm that Nizami was indeed Persian and wrote exclusively in Persian. When I asked a guide about this, I believe he responded with a profanity in his native language, which further reinforced my conviction. I must say Nizami street view was amazing …

A man tried to take money from me. He said the entrance fee is 1 AZN but after that he raised the price to 5 AZN when I told him that I didn't have small money. It was really strange because other visitors didn't pay money. Finally I could not see the mosque even if I had respect for the Muslim religion and paid attention to my clothing to enter the mosque. This is the first time I've ever been tricked at a mosque. I'm so sad as I have respect for the Muslim religion and I wanted to see the mosque. Please be careful that kind of suspicious man.

The Funicular Baku, established in 1960 during the Soviet era, is a unique transportation experience in Azerbaijan. It is the country's first and only funicular, offering a quick journey from Neftchilar Avenue to Martyrs Alley. The ride provides stunning panoramic views of Baku, including the iconic Flame Towers. While the train ride takes only 4 to 5 minutes, some visitors recommend taking the adjacent stairs for an even more breathtaking view of the city's coastline.
Must try, the experience are amazing, riding on the peek which is only cost 1 Manat per trip. It’s easy to full and Always had long queues, but that’s totally understandable and fine. From sea level, it’s bring you directly to highland park near flame tower.
Arfan Y — Google review
It's meh. It's $1 to go up. But the wait times very. Could be 10 minutes, could be 45. Plenty of taxis if you are short on time. But the views at the top are great
Travis L — Google review
It was a nice experience on the funicular. , with operating hours from 10 am to 8 pm. It takes about 15 minutes to board the train. Tickets are sold once you enter, not before. The ride itself lasts 6 minutes, and each wagon can fit 30 people. It was a pleasant experience, and paying by card is possible.
Kamilia R — Google review
The Baku Funicular is a scenic and efficient way to ascend from the city’s seaside boulevard to Highland Park and Martyrs’ Lane. For just 1 AZN per ride, it offers panoramic views of Baku, the Caspian Sea, and the iconic Flame Towers. The ride is smooth and quick, making it a convenient option for visitors. Operating from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, it’s a must-experience attraction in Baku.
Aqeel R — Google review
Good attraction but they need to improve their ticket sales experience.Just one person to manage the ticket counter and gates which leads to long queues .They should start online ticket sales to reduce waiting times .Great views though once you finally make it into the funicular !
Mini S — Google review
Really affordable way to climb up the steep hills towards the highland park for the famous panoramic view. Tickets were purchased at the door and costs 1 manat for one-way journey. There's no strict schedule that I can tell, just rock up and wait for the next ride so if you're on a tight schedule you may be waiting awhile before the tram starts moving. You get some decent views from within the cabin but best part about this is not having to do the steep climb up the hill.
Ephraim — Google review
Shortest fun ride ❤️ but prices for everything is too high in Baku .. this short few mins ride was also quite expensive .. be aware of the local vendors outside the station selling water and juices they are scammers .. even on the streets while walking you will find too many scammers with monkeys or kids be careful ..
Joyce D — Google review
It's 1 Manat and the ride is around 3 minutes. The Funicular is modern and very clean. Avoid rush hours by coming in the morning. You can climb the stairs down on your way back so you can take pictures with the skyline of Baku.

Mini-Venice, located near the Carpet Museum in Baku, is a charming canal system that offers visitors a taste of Venice. The area features several islands connected by bridges and offers gondola rides through its artificial canals. With replicas of the Bridge of Sighs and a tunnel to pass through, it provides picturesque views and is perfect for a romantic evening stroll.
Stopped by on a public holiday so it was a bit crowded. we had to wait around 20 minutes for our turn. The ride itself was a little short but still enjoyable. The place is clean and well-maintained, and the overall vibe is calm and relaxing. Nice spot to check out if you’re walking along the boulevard and want to take a quick and a fun ride. Overall, a good experience!

Mini Venice in Baku offers a charming and picturesque experience with its serene canals and gondola rides. It’s a pleasant spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing boat ride, though the area can get quite crowded during peak times. A nice place to enjoy the city’s unique blend of culture and leisure.

I've always been fascinated by the idea of a mini-Venice 🤩 and Baku's version doesn't disappoint! Wandering along the canals, you feel like you've been transported to Italy 🇮🇹. The gondolas gliding smoothly through the water add to the romantic vibe, and it's a great place to snap some photos 📸. I truly enjoyed the charming atmosphere and the little cafes around, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon. This place is a must-visit if you're ever in Baku!
Saif K — Google review
We walked past in the morning - nothing happening. A few canals and a few boats moored at one end. Pleasant to see but that's it. Judging from other reviews, glad we didn't attempt the boat rides..

Its a nice place to take a little boat ride along with the view of majestic flame towers and the carpet museum. Its on the baku boulevard walkable distance from the nizami street. Its a 10 minute boat ride. Can be skipped but if you go with kids its a good experience.
Aashna S — Google review
It's a beautiful man-made place on the boulevard. It has lots of stairs and walking is not very easy. Be aware of the sidewalks as there are trees everywhere, not enough lighting at night which makes it a safety hazard. You will find 2 restaurants. One is called Venezia and plays Asian music (????) The gondolas are a nice effect but for 7 min ride it's 10AZN per person. I noticed that all the men driving/handling the gondolas are constantly kn their phone which takes away from the getaway feeling you want to experience when they are talking non stop.. Beautiful place for a walk by.. nothing spectacular. I wouldn't spend time there but visit just to see
Nasia H — Google review
My wife and I walked here which was an amazing experience on its own. We loved the gondola like boat ride. Worth the cost, which was right around 40 manat or close to 20 usd at the time we went. The boat ride lasted between 15 and 20 minutes. There was so much to do and see here. We went in early October and the weather was perfect! The entire place was so clean, would definitely go again!
Collaborative C — Google review
This place is very overrated. Useless for us men. Women literally just come this place to take pictures of it as it's just surrounded by commercial shops and cafes. Nothing much to admire. All man made, no natural beauty. Wasted money for a boat that only took 1 round which lasted for 7 minutes.

It showcases an astonishing variety of talented artists, each more inspiring than the last. The museum itself exudes exquisite style and offers such a delightful experience to explore. Undoubtedly, it's one of the most essential and unforgettable places to visit in Baku.
Nataliya G — Google review
This was one of the most interesting modern art museums I have ever seen. The place is packed with artworks, mostly paintings and sculptures of all sizes. The presentation is very dense, and the emphasis is on regional artists which makes this so interesting. Photos with phones are generally permitted, except in the one room that contains works by well-known international artists such as Picasso and Dali. The atmosphere is quite open, supported by a modern building with a massive atrium at the center that disperses any claustrophobic feelings which might otherwise arise due to the sheer number of pieces on show. Highly recommended.

The National Museum of History of Azerbaijan is housed in a grand 19th-century mansion originally built by Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiev, a prominent figure in Azerbaijani history. This historical landmark offers visitors a comprehensive look at the country's past through its diverse collection of artifacts and objects. Divided into three sections, the museum showcases everything from ancient coins and military items to prehistoric human bones and tombs.
I came here quite late (16:55) so I didn't have to wait long. It was an amazing experience but since I was late (the museum closes at 18:00) the staff waited for me and they seemed really happy to be able to go home 10 minutes earlier. I couldn't enjoy the museum because of that but overall, fascinating. A 21-meter-deep oil well drilled in 1846 near Baku, Azerbaijan, is now an open-air museum. The world's first industrially drilled oil well was found and restored in 2016.
Visiting the world’s first industrially drilled oil well, dating back to 1849, was a remarkable journey into history and innovation. The concept of extracting oil from its hidden vastness deep beneath the earth was fascinating and truly educational for both kids and adults alike. I visited with my family, and it was incredible to see how this historic site captured my children's curiosity. They were surprisingly interested in learning about the process and the pioneering techniques used in those times. This site is not just a testament to Baku’s rich industrial heritage but also an inspiring experience for anyone keen on understanding the roots of the modern energy industry. A must-visit for families, history buffs, and anyone looking to connect with a groundbreaking moment in history!

This is the site of the world’s first industrially drilled oil well, established in 1846. While there isn’t much else at the site, it was amazing to see an oil well up close for the first time. Standing near such a historically significant spot was a unique experience, knowing it marked the beginning of the oil industry as we know it today. No entry tickets.

Good for a quick stop to see where a transformative chapter in the country's history began. You won't need much time here, but in addition to the historic oil well there are others still in operation right next to it.

The world's first oil well appears to be quite well preserved for its age. There is a wooden oil derrick, pump mechanisms, and some remains of rusty pipes. Free entrance. You can walk around for a while and smell the history of the oil industry. There is quite a lot of empty space around. Not so much information presented at the stands, you have to Google or read Wikipedia. But the place is worth visiting, for example on the way to Gobustan.

Arenas & Stadiums
Baku Olympic Stadium, situated on the scenic Lake Beyuk Shor, is a modern sports venue with a capacity of nearly 70,000 spectators. It hosts various national and international events, including the opening and closing ceremonies of the first European Games in 2015. The stadium boasts state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure such as ample parking space, parks, boulevards, and numerous indoor and outdoor amenities for diverse activities.
Amazing conversion to conference Venue for UNFCCC-COP29. Four big conference rooms and big coffee are, just like normal convention centre, but then you look at satellite view and see you are on the centre circle of the pitch! Staff extremely helpful.

Great experience! It was my first time in a stadium watching the game and the staff were very kind and the food and desserts were delicious! I would definitely recommend buying a private room if you're going with friends or if you're going alone and just want to watch the game, the regular seats would be fine. Tickets need to be bought in advance.

Terrible logistics, long walk to get there, almost 2 hours to leave due to crowd control. I do not recommend attending any concerts until they drastically improve their processes.

Modern stadium with big capacity. Nice atmosphere for the football Europa League final between London based clubs FC Arsenal and FC Chelsea
Adi N — Google review
The best stadium in the whole Caucasus hands down. I've attended many events and can say that the service is at least as good as the stadium itself. The only issue is that it's an Olympic stadium and you sit far from the pitch which is not perfect for football matches.

Museum
The Surakhani Ship Museum, located in Baku's Seaside National Park, is the world's first-ever tanker museum. Visitors can enjoy interactive exhibits and hands-on displays that offer an educational yet entertaining journey through maritime history. The museum also features an in-house sailing-themed restaurant, allowing guests to immerse themselves in a culinary adventure surrounded by the maritime ambiance of the museum.
For 2 AZN for students or 5 AZN for normal, you get to enjoy a long tour with a lot of kids on an old ship. Joking aside, if you wish to enjoy learning about Baku’s oil history and its maritime affairs, this is the right spot. I do wish that you could skip the tour if you like but unless you specify it, they will put you in a tour group and ask you to remain with them all the way…
Mustafa K — Google review
I visited the Surakhani tanker museum and was very impressed! It is a unique place where you can immerse yourself in the history of maritime navigation and the oil industry. The exhibition is interesting, with many interactive elements, making the visit engaging even for children. The staff is polite and ready to help with any questions. I really liked the atmosphere on board; everything is well-organized and at a high level. The ticket price is quite affordable – 5 AZN for adults and 2 AZN for children. I recommend it to everyone interested in history and looking for an unusual experience!
Asad D — Google review
One of the best Museum. I had ever visited. Must visit with children's. As they will enjoy lots of interactive game in side. And tons of information on sea sailing life. Also we have been guided by intern Aaisa through out the ship with full information and history of this museum. Must visit
Hanif C — Google review
We visited thinking it would have Titanic vibes, but found ourselves to be the only adults there without kids. It was still a good experience, but it was more suited for children aged 5-10. There are miniatures of ships and the Baku port, VR headsets, games, life size and/or originals of engines, rescue materials, and other related items. It’s good value for money and there is a lot to see. The restaurant was very expensive!
Tahi F — Google review
There is one mid sized ship in this museum, only good for ship enthusiast. There is a restaurant on deck and also indoor. Tour guide device is useless. Average experience.

Churches & Cathedrals
The Archangel Michael Russian Church, originally constructed in 1845 for the Russian Imperial Navy, is a small and hidden gem nestled among residential buildings. Despite some reports of persistent solicitation outside the church, once inside, visitors are greeted with a beautiful and marvelous structure that exudes a pretty good atmosphere. The church holds historical significance as it was built by marines and is definitely worth a visit for those interested in exploring religious sites.
It is a beautiful church, like a gem hidden among tall apartment buildings. This is a XIX century Russian orthodox church. It might look small from outside, but it it has a spacious courtyard and actually two churches: upper and lower. The upper church of Archangel Michael (second storey) is really beautiful inside, especially during the service, when all the lights are lit up. Though it is quite dark inside when there is no service: it's an old building with relatively small windows. It is an old Navi church, so it resembles internal space of a ship, I guess. Orthodox services are held daily: Divine Liturgy in the morning at around 8:30 am (or 9:00 on Sundays), and vigil services at around 5 pm. There is a church store in the courtyard, there you can buy candles, small icons and other church staff. There are also taps with holy water available in the courtyard.

Muhammad Mosque, also known as Siniggala Mosque, is a significant symbol of Baku, dating back to the 11th century. Despite not being the largest or most grandiose mosque in the city, it holds historical importance. The minaret bears witness to the Russo-Persian War and remains unrepaired as a testament to Baku's resilience. This 1000-year-old mosque has been meticulously preserved and now serves as a Quran museum.
This is a 1000 years old mosque exquisitely maintained. Currently it is converted into Quran museum. Mostly the tourist miss out on seeing this beautiful place but it's a must to see when site seeing the old Baku city. It's not an active mosque and hence Namaz can't be offered here. The ambiance and the the aura of this place is at its peak during morning time. It's certainly depicts the epitome of Islamic times.

The Muhammad Mosque Minaret in Baku is an awe-inspiring testament to the passage of time. Standing tall for almost 1000 years, it’s a remarkable sight to behold. What impressed me the most was its immaculate appearance, almost as if it were brand new. The preservation and care given to this historic structure left me truly amazed. It’s a testament to the rich history and architectural marvels that Baku has to offer. A must-see for anyone visiting the city, as it encapsulates the beauty of timelessness and cultural heritage.

AF Mall is a charming neighborhood shopping center that offers a variety of local shops, services, and a convenient supermarket. Situated in the heart of the city, it has become a popular destination for shoppers seeking high street fashion brands and upscale boutiques. The mall also boasts a tranquil cafe where visitors can enjoy a peaceful coffee break. Additionally, AF Mall is set to introduce a summer lounge with a tropical garden and rooftop pool by the end of 2011.
As a shopping mall it is ideal. We bought dried fruit in the supermarket. We had a relaxing coffee stop in the very pleasant and peaceful cafe. It's in the area of the concert halls and music academy. ..we were looking at the Aliyev Theatre and Square when we came across it. The only problem. Is that the traffic doesn't make it easy to cross the roads round this area.

Can't get any worse. Nothing works properly, awful smell, no air conditioners, built like a maze. Terribly bad.
RVFET — Google review
Honestly, this is one of the most pointless malls in Baku. There’s no solid shopping experience, no decent food options, and the whole place just feels like a small, overcrowded area without a clear purpose. It’s hard to tell what this mall is even trying to offer. If you're looking for a proper shopping or dining spot, there are far better alternatives in the city.
Elçin Q — Google review

B. — Google review
At Aff Mall, customers are currently facing inconveniences due to a non-functional escalator and other issues within the premises. The malfunctioning escalator hampers the smooth flow of foot traffic, causing delays and potential discomfort for shoppers. This not only impacts the overall shopping experience but may also create accessibility challenges for individuals with mobility issues. Moreover, the presence of other problems exacerbates the situation. Whether it's insufficient lighting, unkempt facilities, or malfunctioning amenities, these issues collectively contribute to a suboptimal environment for both shoppers and staff. Inadequate maintenance can tarnish the mall's reputation, as customers may perceive it as a reflection of management's commitment to providing a pleasant shopping atmosphere. Efficient and timely resolution of these problems is crucial to uphold the mall's reputation and ensure customer satisfaction. Regular maintenance checks, swift repairs, and effective communication with customers about ongoing improvements can go a long way in addressing these issues. Investing in a proactive approach to facility management demonstrates a commitment to customer well-being and helps maintain a positive shopping environment at Aff Mall.

The city municipality did not spare financial resources for the construction of the building, the building cost 400,000 rubles. Red bricks were brought from Italy to decorate the facade. (Original) Bakıda Istiqlaliyyət, 4 ünvanında yerləşir. Binanın özülü 18 may 1900-cu ildə qoyulmuşdur, 1904-cu ildə isə tikintisi başa çatmışdır. İlkin layihədə bina ikimərtəbəli olsa da sonradan ona bir sıra dəyişikliklər edilir. Memar I.V.Qoslavski (1865 – 1904) əlindən gələni etmişdir ki, Barokko üslubunda tikilmiş bu bina möhtəşəm ve Bakı dumasına layiqli olsun. Şəhər bələdiyyəsi də binanın tikintisinə maliyyə vəsaitini əsirgəməmişdir, bina 400 000 rubla başa gəlmişdir. Fasadın bəzədilməsi üçün qırmızı kərpici İtaliyadan gətizdirmişdilər.

(Translated by Google) We bought the Istiklala museum with a guide tour. We have no words to say that the guide was perfect, but as in most museums, water practice should definitely be implemented here; The guest should be asked whether the tour should be long or short!! Otherwise, you have to ask "Can you summarize the guide?" and although this is not very nice, the other way around contains excessive details. Tahir Salahov's home-museum is a tribute to the life and work of Azerbaijan's renowned artist, Tahir Salahov. The museum showcases a collection of his later works, offering visitors an insight into his evolution as a painter. While access to his workshop would enhance the experience, the museum provides a glimpse into the world of this influential Soviet Realism artist.

The museum's address is wrongly indicated on the map, it is located in Icherisheher. The museum itself is small as a house museum. The main part of the works are kept in important museums such as the Art Museum, and here you can see some interesting works. The staff did not prefer to provide information, unlike other house museums.
