Cafe Gourmand is a charming family-owned business run by Erica and Gregoire Bouthier, offering a delightful blend of American and French culinary influences. They take pride in roasting their own coffee and serving high-quality dishes, including freshly baked bread, Saturday brunch, and innovative lunch specials. The newly expanded space provides ample room for guests to enjoy their offerings. While the service is commendable, some find the prices slightly steep.
Café Gourmand offers a delightful culinary experience. The mocaccino stands out with its rich flavor and perfect balance, providing a comforting start or finish to any meal. The egg Benedict with salmon is a tasty, blend of savory and creamy, while the avocado croissant is great options for vegetarian and have option to add egg if you want. For those with a sweet tooth, the carrot cake is simply divine, moist, and topped with sour cream. Each dish is crafted with care, making Café Gourmand a must-visit for anyone looking for a satisfying evening or a slow morning with great brunch date in a cozy atmosphere.

Great place with good Ambience around. We loved the Brunch. Croissant Almendra and Canela roll are the best.
Yaswanth A — Google review
Amazing breakfast spot in Montevideo. Highly recommend taking the brunch, and with it the cinnamon rolls and eggs gravalax. The coffee is also super good. Amazing flat white
Adrián ( — Google review
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely food. It was very busy but they found me a table and took my order very quickly. Very efficient service. The food arrived quickly too. Delicious and tasty Montevideo omelette. The staff always had a smile on their face despite the weather and the busy restaurant.
Matthew D — Google review
We went for a treat and had a good experience. I recommend the cinnamon roll but I do not recommend the yogurt with fruit and granola. Not only the yogurt was too liquid but also the bowl was tiny. The creme broule was also tiny and expensive. Coffee was ok.
Sandra P — Google review
Cool cafe with good service and a nice atmosphere.. coffee was good, but the food was just terrible. The Avotoast barely had any avocado, the grilled cheese was greasy and not crunchy, and the deserts we ordered were all mediocre at best. Go for the atmosphere, but come with a full belly.
Dan A — Google review
Awesome place to have breakfast on weekends. The owners are very good hosts and they take care of all your requests. The food here is excellent. I can come here everyday if they open on weekdays aswell. Update: they are open on weekdays now as well for longer time.

Cafe
Cafe La Farmacia is a unique coffee shop located just a couple of blocks from Plaza Matriz in Ciudad Vieja. Housed in what used to be an old pharmacy, the cafe has retained much of its original aesthetic, with apothecary cabinets and jars of roots and herbs on display. The cafe offers a variety of beverages, from tea to different types of coffee, along with sweet treats to accompany your drink.
Not just scenic, the staff are warm and the food is good, they could cash in on a “tourist trap” setting so easily but instead this is an all-around great place. I was surprised that it was not busy on. Saturday but I got a table no problem and they let me stay for hours using the Wi-Fi. I had a flat white and the chicken kebab.
Isaac L — Google review
Muy lindo lugar en el centro viejo de la ciudad. It is a restored pharmacy with all the bottles, tinctures, chair, cabinets and shelves of an old pharmacist. Nice wood and arch and pretty marble tables. We shared a broccoli and cheese tarta piece with a salad which was very delicious and had a homemade tarta crust. Loved the taste of the salad dressing too. Also had a baklava piece which was divine, recommend for sure. A bit pricey but cute and tasty.
E D — Google review
Too good! We ordered Hot chocolate, Mocha, Caprese toast, Apple cake and Torta de Ricotta. Everything was really good and tasty, worth the money. Went there on a weekday and it was crowded but still you will get the place to sit. The service was really good and they have menu in both Spanish and English. You can spend a good time and then later go to the port market.
Himani D — Google review
Intimate, beautiful cafe occupying a former pharmacy in the Ciudad Vieja. For first-time visitors to Montevideo, this is one of the places that would be an excellent choice for a light breakfast or mid-afternoon coffee and dessert. Excellent food, attractively plated and served. The cafe is on the small side; so off-hour visits are most likely to be quiet and laid-back.
Paul N — Google review
A Hidden Gem in Montevideo’s Historic Heart Tucked away in the charming, cobbled streets of Montevideo’s old historic center lies a beautifully restored old pharmacy that now serves as one of the city’s most unique cafés. This vintage space has been lovingly transformed, preserving its antique character—think wooden shelves, glass-front cabinets, and marble countertops—while welcoming guests into a warm, inviting atmosphere. The coffee here is nothing short of exceptional. Whether you’re a fan of rich espresso or smooth flat whites, each cup is carefully crafted, bursting with flavor and clearly made with quality beans. It's the kind of place where you slow down and savor every sip. The breakfast menu is equally impressive—freshly baked pastries, creamy scrambled eggs , and hearty avocado toast served with poached eggs that are always perfectly done. There’s a real sense of care in every plate, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming. Service is friendly and unhurried, adding to the relaxed ambiance that fits perfectly with the historic surroundings. Whether you’re starting your day with a quiet coffee or stopping in for a slow brunch, this café offers a memorable experience that blends Montevideo’s rich past with its vibrant café culture. A must-visit for anyone exploring the Ciudad Vieja.

Restaurant
Nestled in the Old City, Restaurant Estrecho offers an exclusive and intimate dining experience that is both memorable and delicious. Despite facing various challenges since its establishment in 2003, including changes in ownership, economic crises, and relocations, this unique restaurant has stood the test of time. The name 'Estrecho' reflects the layout of the space—a long corridor with a bar featuring 21 seats—creating a constant interaction between diners and chefs.
We had the best time here!! The food and service (I think our waiters name was Amelia? She was a queeenn!!) was fantastic, we tried the filet mignon, the fish of the day, and chicken salad and loved all of it. Was also entertaining being able to see all our dishes being prepared in front of us.

Great place, best Thai food in town. The house wine is very good. Lots of specialties. Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff. English speakers and menu available

If you want a plant based meal this is the place. The salad I had was spectacular and the meat was replaced with delicious roasted mushrooms. I believe you can also remove goat cheese and roasted tomatoes. The tea was equally beautifully served and the staff very friendly.
Jill D — Google review
Such an amazing place! Every dish was very well crafted and enjoyed the mix of some Asian influence with European dishes. Great service and knowledgeable and passionate staff.

Amazing place serving awesome dishes. Very nice and well structured menu. The restaurant staff is really caring about visitors and the overall experience is really stunning.
Pavel K — Google review
Excellent food and, for the area, at a very reasonable price. Apparently the menu changes daily. I enjoyed the baguette with smoked salmon. If I went again, I'd definitely order something from the stovetop, since the entire seating area is just the bar and they cook everything right behind it. It was interesting to watch them cook just meters away, and I was a bit envious that I hadn't ordered something that I'd get to see cooked. I also ordered the creme brulee dessert, which was not my all-time favorite but was still very good and also prepared in view. Definitely recommend this place.
Paul M — Google review
Couldn’t find this place - may be closed. Copacobana next door had to suffice… Update: OK, so in spite of the snarky reply I decided to swing by and see what I missed. Indeed, Estrecho is there - pretty close to where Google maps has it. Best I can tell it was boarded up when I was looking for it the other day (Google indicated it should be open) due to “Tourism Week”. As such I decided to give it a try wondering if the service was going to be as edgy as the owners reply and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service, good food, and nice ambience. Changing to 5 stars.

The Place is serving modern cusion. It’s located in the old town of Montevideo. Very nice surroundings. You sit at the table with is in front of the kitchen and all the chefs. Everything is very clean and nice. The food was soo good. Would defiantly recommend. The prices are also very good. We paid 1200 Pesos for two starters, to salad, coffee and water.

Coffee lover's paradise - the Lab is a great place to enjoy top-quality coffee alongside interesting food options. It's very close to rambla, and the atmosphere is really nice.
Tucked away near Montevideo Shopping, The Lab Coffee turned out to be a cozy little haven for coffee lovers like me. I tried their cinnamon capuchino, Espresso shots and Mocha coffee, and it was nothing short of a delight—rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. The pairing of flavors felt curated to comfort. We also ordered chipa and tostaditos, and honestly, they were the perfect companions for a coffee break. The chipa was soft on the inside, lightly crisp outside, and had that subtle cheesy depth that makes it irresistible. Delicious would be an understatement. The tostaditos were golden and satisfying—simple, yet elevating the whole experience. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff made us feel welcome without being overbearing.Highly recommend it if you're around Montevideo Shopping and in the mood for a comforting coffee moment!
Santanu M — Google review
Let's start this out stating that to make 2 iced coffees and to serve two portions of already made and cut brownie cake it took them 25+ minutes. Apart from that, both iced coffees were bad, we ordered two: A vanilla iced coffee that had no vanilla flavour at all (and as far as coffee goes, not really that gold either) A caramel frappé that had no caramel taste, and that the whipped cream that came with it was as bland as the coffee itself. Both "torta brownie" which is basically brownie with dulce de leche and meringue on top were kind of good, but it seems that it was not stored properly so both dulce de leche and meringue were starting to dry, which wasn't really that pleasant. Prices were quite expensive for what we got as you may imagine. To top it off, both me and my partner felt sick to our stomach half an hour later. To their credit, the interior decoration was pretty good, although the noises in there were quite loud compared to other coffee places we've been to.
Thom — Google review
Excellent coffee... and one of the best in Montevideo. Here are a few recommendation which you can try here. - Mocha fratte - Caramel fratte - Vanila with ice Ambience and service are 10 out of 10. It closes at 9 pm and last order you can give at 8:30 pm. There are lots of places where you sit and enjoy your coffe... both inside the cafe and open air sitting arrangement also available. It's totally worth of spending your money here.
INDRANIL B — Google review
I've been to this coffee shop several times now, and it's definitely my favorite. The coffee is fantastic, the food is very good, and the service and atmosphere are stellar. I highly recommend this place.

Cool spot with lots of different seating options. We got huevos revueltos con palta and it was delicious. Plus very kid friendly!
Sarah K — Google review
Very good coffee and food. The sandwiches are tasty and fresh. Good choice for having a breakfast on Sunday.
Andy K — Google review
Located in a beautiful house very close to the rambla of Montevideo, the Lab is a very cool place where you can really enjoy top quality coffee + very interesting food options to have it with. Be it with a medialuna rellena or a carrot cake, it doesn't really matter- the main player will still be their great coffee. Coffee lovers, this is a must in Montevideo! My recommendation: if you like ice cream, try their affogato.

Coffee 3/5, just OK. Good toast with salmon and vegan bread, but salmon should be more salted👍🏻

Flea & Street Markets
The Feria de Tristan Narvaja is a vibrant open-air flea market that takes place every Sunday along the street of the same name. Visitors can explore a wide variety of items, including antique silverware, second-hand books, and pre-loved fashion. While there are limited food options available, the market offers an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. Additionally, unique finds such as artisanal beers and traditional wooden crafts can be discovered while strolling through the bustling stalls.
This weekly flea market is amazing! It is several blocks long and about 3 blocks wide. Bought a pair of New Balance athletic shoes for considerably less than in the stores here, and a really delicious flame grilled pancha from one of the street vendors. Bring cash but a lot of the vendors take debit cards, too. Can be pretty crowded so plan accordingly.
Mike P — Google review
A great way to spend a Sunday morning. You can spend hours exploring this flea market and not get bored. There’s something for everyone. It is absolutely enormous and there are so many trinkets to find. If you’re into fashion, there are so many vintage and second hand clothes to buy too. There is also a wide variety of food (chivito stalls, fresh produce, fruit and vegetables, cheese, brownies, etc). You cannot visit Montevideo and miss this flea market, it is simply a must. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in this market, it doesn’t exist!
James — Google review
I really enjoyed visiting the Sunday morning fair and recommend going early before it’s too crowded. 9 am is perfect! By 11 it’s filling up and by 12 it’s uncomfortably full on the main street. Lots of local vendors with interesting souvenirs, as well as books, food, antiques, household goods, and super random things as well.
Rebecca L — Google review
This flea market is crazy huge. You can find anything here. Book lovers paradise - streets of books. Fine art, housewares, home decor, clothes, pet supplies, tools, treasures and junk It's all here. Find the papas rellenas vendor! We got there at 10:30 and by 2pm it was too crowded for us to casually explore.
Con C — Google review
This market is huge! Such a great place to wander around on a Sunday afternoon. So many cool treasures, food, music, art, books, etc…
Emmett S — Google review
The flea market took over an entire neighborhood! They have everything here, and it is a MUST visit!
David R — Google review
It is hard to describe what this street market is like. Streets blocked in this neighborhood. All types of fresh food choices like oversized farmers market is only the start. Homemade items, things you use around the house, books, cheese and meats and prepared foods to enjoy as you walk around. Don't forget to check out second hand booths
Dan P — Google review
Lively Sunday market that stretches for blocks on end featuring stalls that sell food, clothes, fish, mate cups, toiletries, etc. Worth checking out. Arrive early (around 9am) if you want to avoid the crowds

La Commedia is a charming Italian restaurant and grill located in Montevideo, Uruguay. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with the option to dine al fresco in their secluded courtyard. It is known for its top-notch service and delightful dessert variety. What sets La Commedia apart is that it serves only gluten-free dishes, making it a gem for those with celiac dietary restrictions. The ambiance of the beautifully restored old house adds to the tranquil and inviting dining experience.
We are at this 100% Gluten-Free gem in Montevideo, Uruguay, and it stands out as the best in the city! Nestled in a beautifully restored old house, the ambiance is tranquil and inviting. But let’s talk about the main event: the food. We indulged in the gnocchi bolognese and risotto, both of which were culinary delights with exceptional taste and quality. The bread alone is worth the visit! The menu offers a great selection of dishes, catering to all tastes. Special shoutout to Andrea whose service was impeccable. We’re already planning our return visit before we leave town. A must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful gluten-free dining experience!

My friend and I really liked this small but very enchanting restaurant, it is in a very quiet neighborhood, the pasta choices were excellent, and the lady waitress was very friendly and attentive, helping us with the order and English translation. Cheers!

The food is well prepared and their pastas as well as their bread are gluten free. Service is friendly and efficient. The place is comfortable, relaxed and quiet.
Rislo B — Google review
The food was delicious and seemed fresh as well. Everything was so good I had to check FindMeGlutenFree to make sure it was truly GF. The owner needs to download that app and claim the listing on there as well, since it is a well-rated GF option in Montevideo. Cecilia, our server, was very patient with our attempts at Spanish and took great care and time explaining the menu, and making sure we were happy. Would go back every day if it were socially acceptable to do so. I will miss this place when I am back in the US. Order the patate con funghi entrada and thank me later!

I really like coffee and try new places. and I found Oro Del Rhin.. We tried Cafe Siberiano(vodka base), cafe Mozart (with cognac 😍), and cafe colonial (with Baileys).... Mozart and Siberiano are really great... Also tried Non alcoholic coffees.... Loved Freddoccion(cold coffee) and cappuccino a la Italiana... Really beautiful and ambience is charming.... It like coming back in 1980th Restaurant located within USSR, for some forgotten place that been frozen in time. I would rate with one star but the waiter was cute and polite, the coffee cortado was and Americano were ok, but special cold coffee and desserts were not good, the stoling tastes like very old and dry. The last drop was the price, three coffees and two deserts for 30€. It is the price for top rated bakery, but sure not there.
Russ V — Google review
I came here around 11:00AM. Food is fresh & reasonably priced but however good this place is, it's not great. Certainly average or below average when you compare it to other old historical cafes around the world. Look at the photo of the 'Italian Cappuccino' they served me to understand why they don't make the 'great' rating… they miss the attention to detail that makes all the difference.
Antonio A — Google review
Pastries are not good. I found mold on the strawberry tart. The other didn't taste great either. I've tried this place a few times and it's been disappointing every time.

El Copacabana is a popular cafe in Ciudad Vieja with locals coming for breakfast or lunch. It has large windows that allow people to watch the city's historic district from inside. The menu is in English, making it a great place for expats and tourists to get a taste of traditional Andalusian cooking. Items on the menu include chicken milanesa and stuffed zapalitos (pigeons), both of which were very good. I'll be back!
A great location to people watch and have drinks. If your lucky you might get to listen to a great street performer as we did.

Food Quality: very good chivito. Melts in your mouth, and most importantly, you dont need to tug on the beef. Portions: very good portion. Lots of side fries. Drinks: many options of local and some imported beers. Soft drinks, etc. Price: $$ very decent pricing. Service: friendly staff and very fast service. Atmosphere: located in the middle of the pedestrian street in old town. Highlights: location and chivitos are a reason to visit. Eating outside on the tables located on the street.

Incredible bakery, with well provided service. Breakfast is amazing with combos for all kinds with a good price. Clean place with good music and atmosphere.
Rafael A — Google review
Absolutely the worst service I've had on my trip so far. The man brought the menu and while he was giving them to us, asked what we wanted to drink, and left annoyed when we said we didn't know yet. When he came back for the order, he didn't even let us finish to say what we wanted to order, cutting us after the first word and not taking notes of the indications (removing one ingredient). He really acted as if he was in a rush, but the terrace was empty and inside didn't have many people neither - 5pm). The propina was already added to the bill, which I disliked as it was THE place I didn't want to give any. The man was also annoyed when we said we wanted to pay separately (I understand it adds some work, but no other places I've been to have complained about it). The food was alright, but not worth feeling so unwelcomed and rushed.

Tea house
Nestled within a charming nursery in the Carrasco neighborhood, Lavender Tea Room is a delightful spot that has been enchanting visitors since 1996. This unique tea room offers an inviting atmosphere surrounded by lush plants and vibrant flowers, making it the perfect backdrop for enjoying a leisurely afternoon. Guests can indulge in quality coffee or an array of teas while savoring delectable treats like cheesecake or carrot cake.
Fun little place for traditional tea with some atmosphere from the plants in the nursery. Good coffee, a decent selection of teas, the fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. The butter with the scones was not what we were expecting, it had a whipped texture and a little sour, but it went very well with the marmalade.
Lex E — Google review
Very popular spot for afternoon coffee or tea and cakes. Unique location in a nursery surrounded by plants. Excellent service.

Lovely atmosphere especially with the surrounding lavender. The staff were very friendly and patient. The coffee was very nice, and the cakes are to die for. Do come here, have a drink, and take a walk around the lavender rows. Fantastic experience!
Marco F — Google review
A combination nursery and restaurant, the service and food are amazing. The drinks are from made by hand of fresh fruits, and there is both inside and outside dining options. When the weather is good, eating outside surrounds the diner with all of the plant life of the vivero (nursery).

Polo Bamba is a trendy bar located within the luxurious Hotel Montevideo The Leading. It has quickly gained popularity for its cafe, restaurant, and terrace offering cool drinks and stylish furniture. Visitors praise the cozy outdoor experience with blankets and fire lamps, making it an ideal spot for a rooftop experience. The rooftop provides beautiful sunset views while offering a good selection of drinks and reasonably priced food.
Upon entering the property, the front desk was very welcoming and answered my inquiry about a rooftop venue & guided us to the hallway area. We then took the elevator up to the top floor which was this beautifully decorated posh rooftop environment, where we were met by Pablo. Very welcoming, and engaging, as he offered for us to take a quick self guided tour of the patio, which was edge to edge breathtaking city views. Wow.... romantically designed w heated firepits, the indoor/outdoor options were perfection. We then sat at the marble bartop and ordered the BEST espresso martinis, followed by their fabulous mushroom & risotto croquettes. 🤯 The perfect tapas to fill our interest in a tasty treat. We couldn't resist ordering the flan. Dulce de Leche magic infused flan, homemade cream w drizzled caramelized peanuts 🥜. Perfect experience thus far. A++

A spectacular spot in Montevideo. Polo Bamba is located on the top floor of Hotel Montevideo and offers an incredible experience, both for the atmosphere and the service. I went with my family, and we had a wonderful time. Santiago’s attention was outstanding: he was very kind, showed us around, and gave us excellent recommendations for food and drinks. Everything was delicious, and the service was first-class. Without a doubt, 100% recommended, whether you’re going with family or friends.

Found this place after every other bar around pocitos was full on a saturday night . The experience outside was cozy with the blankets and the fire lamps ( which we had to ask to be switched on ). I enjoyed the view and the drink , the dessert could have been sweet . Would definitely recommend this place for a rooftop experience.

Cauce Restaurante is a charming dining spot located near the beach, offering excellent food and top-notch service. The menu features a variety of delicious dishes, with options for vegetarians as well. Visitors have praised the high quality and value for money of the meals. The attentive and courteous staff, particularly Nicolas, has been highlighted for their superb service, making guests feel comfortable and well taken care of.

Tea for two is really good! Has very tasty food and very well served. Loved the carrot cake!
Luciana F — Google review
We were there for high tea. The view is spectacular and the decor is beautiful, but the food is terrible. We had capuchinos that were cold, the orange juice is terrible. It’s really very cheap to have fresh orange juice, instead of a bad tasting chemical juice from the supermarket. The croissants were cold, old and soggy, the pastries were old and did not taste good at all. I have had high tea in Montevideo at many places before. This one is one of the most expensive ones, and definitely the worst one.

Excellent food and service just popped in as I was galavanting on the beach … I am a vegetarian but whatever they had offered was very tasty and high quality value for money 👌 Then the best of all was the service from Nicolas was superb very attentive smiling and courteous that made a big difference to me as a foreigner not knowing Spanish he made me feel comfortable with his good English and attended to all my needs he deserves and big thumbs 👍 keep the good work
Vinod N — Google review
I would give zero stars, if I could. Stay away from the bar and from the breakfast buffet. As we were guest at the hotel, we received a voucher for a welcome drink. As we waited at the bar to be attended, the waiter first ignored us for five minutes then, other customers arrived, and they were served before us. When he finally noticed that we wanted to order, he told us that we could only get a beer, a glass of wine, a gin tonic or a “renfresco”. We asked what that is and he almost insulted us because we did not know. He pretended that “in English it is the same”. What he meant is actually a “soft drink”…

(Translated by Google) One of the best dinners we had in Montevideo. We were hesitant due to some negative reviews about the service, but luckily we decided to check it out for ourselves, and they couldn't have been more wrong. The service was excellent from start to finish. We had risotto and lasagna, both delicious dishes. We also tried two grappamiel-based cocktails (amazing) and finished with an incredible Basque cake. We especially want to give a shout-out to Antonella, the host, who welcomed us warmly and took the time to recommend other dishes for future visits. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. We will definitely return. Highly recommended. (Translated by Google) We've been there for lunch with our family on several Sundays, and the food is always excellent. Among their options, they have gluten-free bread, which is key if someone has celiac disease or doesn't eat gluten. You can also order rice cakes. Our favorite dishes were the lamb with truffled mash, which was spectacular. The Caesar salad is very good, the chicken tikka is delicious and has a subtle spicy touch, the sweetbreads as appetizers are crispy and a great starter. Among the sides, the fries are fantastic, and the sweet potato is delicious with any type of protein. The desserts are on another level. The tiramisu is our favorite, but the chocolate mousse and chocolate duo, the suspiro limeño, and the Basque cake are highly recommended for sharing. Lastly, the lemonades are also very fresh and go perfectly with our dishes.

The sauce was very rich. And the lasagna with cheese fondue was not recommended at all. It was a sheet of lasagna. Cheese sauce on one side, soy sauce on the other. The roast beef blanket was exquisite. The service was extremely terrible. They served about four people. Each order took forever. So much so that we ordered dessert, and it never arrived. We asked for the bill and left. There were three of us. We paid approximately 4,500 euros. (Original) Fuimos a cenar un miércoles. Demoraron horas en atendernos. A nice, cozy coffee were people gather to work, have fun, or admire the beautiful art and photography exposed in the walls. The cappuccino with skim latte was delicious! And the cake (a Parmesan cheese Bittersweet Cake) was so original and very tasty! For remote workers: The internet is available for everyone and it has a good speed to work. Tables are comfortable too. The staff was friendly and welcoming. :)

The caramel latte was amazing! Literally the best caramel latte in all of Montevideo. It’s delicious every time I go. It’s 160 pesos but worth every peso. (Translated by Google) Great coffee and a very good variety of sweet and savory options at a reasonable price. The place isn't too big, but it's easy to go in a group of up to four people, and on winter days it can get a bit chilly. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the music is soft, allowing you to talk without shouting. The tables against the wall have power outlets, so you can work remotely—a great bonus that other similar places don't offer! It's worth coming back more than once. Highly recommended. I was just there on my 1st night in Montevideo. The staff was great and very welcoming. They made me feel right at home and explained a few local dishes to me with which I was unfamiliar. The bartender was great and gave me a sample of vermouth; it brought me back to my time in Madrid. I ordered off the tapas menu. The portions were actually bigger than I expected for tapas. I hope I can make it back on this trip.

This was a nice little discovery for our family. Our two sons shared 1/2 dozen medialunas and LOVED them. They could have devoured a dozen. My husband had a traditional ham and cheese croissant while I had the caprese. Absolutely delicious. Small seating areas inside and out. Displays were filled with all kinds of tartas, pies, cakes and cookies. Can't wait to go back!

One of the very best places in Punta Carretas to get fresh-baked medialunas, empandas, vegetable pies, ham and cheese sandwiches made with giant croissants, a variety of desserts, etc. Table service for customers ordering food and beverages in the back and front of the store, as well as an outdoor area in front. The store is usually bustling with activity, and the staff is very helpful and pleasant. They do a brisk take-away business --- medialunas fresh out of the oven at least twice per day, in the morning and afternoon; dessert items are often made in the afternoon. I've been a customer for over 10 years --- never disappointed. Prices are a bit higher than other places in the neighborhood, but you are paying for quality.

We had a bagel with ham, cheese and tomato. It was delicous. The bagel was very fresh, easy to bite into and really good. We had a coffee as well (americano) very good served in a slightly smaller cup than home but perfectly sized for Uraguay. I chased this with two little cookies. Tasted like shortbread with dulces filling (like a carmel only thicker) home made that morning, very tastey. We will go back tommorow as while we were there we saw some crousants we want to try. Their English was better than my spanish, thankfully, we had this great breakfast.

I very rarely give one star ratings but in this case it’s earned. some places in Uruguay, especially in tourist places businesses have the attitude to add 10% “propina” (tip) without even bothering to ask. you don’t find this attitude were locals go. another nuisance is the fact that you don’t see the amount when you enter your credit card code, so you know only at the end, but in this place you could even see your credit card code in clear text, not hidden! what an amateurish system!

Literally the worst memory and staff in Uruguay during my trip. Since the old staff didn't understand English nor willing to call help for other staff who can speak English, I searched the google translation "Could you recommend for lunch?" ( too many things in menu didn't show up properly through google Eng-Spanish translation) he read it, and just said "no" and passed away. After that I tried to call him to ask more to understand the menu, it looked like he couldn't care less. (Or may be he just didn't like non-white person sitting there? He was really nice to other white people) Without no one's help, I had to hussle with menu about 1 hour there. Perfectly ruined my good memory in Uruguay. :(

(Translated by Google) Nice place, very delicious cut (accompanied with a super delicious square of brownie) and stuffed half moon (delicious). It was the only thing I tried, this time. I would return without hesitation. The pleasant attention of both the owner and the girl who served me. Right when I took the photos there was no one there; but closer to noon it began to fill up. One thing that I think is needed is to have a written menu where one can look at the options and their prices.

La Tostaduría is a modern coffee shop with amazing windows made of glass. It's located in one of the most beautiful streets of Canelones and has great food and coffee. The downside is that it's a bit expensive, but it's definitely worth it if you're looking for a good place to relax and have some refreshments. Plus, they have free WiFi which is always nice!
One of the only cafes open on a Sunday afternoon, me and my sister ordered a flat white each and an alfajor and cookie to share. Everything was delicious, but the alfajor stole the show.
Camila D — Google review
When we reached it was very crowed. The ambience is good. With soothing music. Loved the coffee. Our coffee was not that hot and when we asked to heat it. The service provider there he gave us to more cup of coffee as he said he cannot heat the old one it won’t taste good. Made my day. Now about my breakfast.. i orderd granola the portion is small and it was a lot of jam for me. I couldn’t finish it. They have plain croissant.. which was good. Liked it crispy outside and soft inside. My friend ordered toast and scrambled egg. And he loved it. Another friend ordered avocado toast, it was good to. Their coffee cups are beautiful so is the person who provided us with a fresh hot coffee as replacement for previous one… ☺️

I was looking for a good cup of coffee and having seen the stall of Culto at the coffee expo 2022, i decided to pay a visit. I inquired on the counter about the coffee they were serving on that particular day and i was given a choice. The Americano that i was served smelled and tasted great. The vibe is also pretty nice. They had a coffee roaster on one side of the space where i could see one of the employees monitoring a batch. There's also breakfast and lunch available.

My family of three came into the cafe early on Saturday morning looking forward to a little food and good coffee. There was no one in the cafe but four baristas behind the counter chatting. I greeted them, but they were not responsive. We moved two tables together so to sit the three of us (in the empty cafe) and were rudely told we could not move two tables together. We were shocked, most especially as there was no one in the cafe. It was clear the baristas did not want our patronage. So we left and went to a more friendly cafe.
Kate F — Google review
A very unique and innovative coffee shop in town, target to those who have a exquisite taste in coffee. But still the ambience is widely welcoming to everyone who wants to enjoy a nice coffee.
Misaki — Google review
I wanted to love this place because the interior design, brand details, and vibe were generally cool, and the coffee was great… but the service staff vibes were a little too “indifferent hipster”, the alfajor we got was almost frozen solid, and the punk rock music playing while we sat inside was not working for us. It could have just been bad timing; I would go and try their other location to see how it differs.
Felipe L — Google review
I had tried their coffee two times before in Ciudad Vieja and liked it. This location is just as great. The staff are friendly here. At least one of them speaks English in case you struggle with Spanish. Latte was great and so was the croissant. Very good wifi too and super cute inside.

POTTS Café in Palermo offers a cozy and friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to catch up with friends over a delicious cup of coffee. The café boasts an extensive variety of coffee options not commonly found elsewhere, along with a diverse food menu. While the QR code for the e-menu may need improvement, the quick and pleasant service adds to the overall positive experience. Additionally, visitors can enjoy affordable prices and generous portion sizes while indulging in tasty treats.
Really nice atmosphere with friendly staff and really tasty food. Prices are really affordable with pretty nice portion sizes. They have books, playing cards and boardgames you can use. A great place to spend an afternoon with a coffee, a treat, and a book!

Potts has a really friendly ambience, and it’s an ideal place to go with a friend to catch up while enjoying a nice cup of coffee. I’d give it five stars if they had some gluten-free options in their menu. The place is really small, but it’s usually not very crowded, so there’s no problem finding a table.

A cafe with good ambience and coffee. We ordered a capuchino italiano and double espresso. The waiters were quick and very nice. The cafe was good and good thing about cafe is there a varieties of cafe that you wouldn't find in any of the normal cafes. They have varieties of food menu too, i would definitely recommend you to give it a try if you are in that neighborhood. They have a e menu and the QR code didnt really work for us, that's probably the only thing which wasn't good.

I was in the Starbucks on Edgware Road yesterday. I was really disappointed because it was very crowded and noisy. I couldn’t find a place to drink my coffee. What I disliked the most was dirty toilets. The coffee is not bad and the price is reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised by the blueberry muffin so I strongly recommend it. My recommendation is if you would like to buy something in Starbucks you should get a take-away.
