Delicious and tasty Montevideo omelette. The staff always had a smile on their face despite the weather and the busy restaurant.

We went for a treat and had a good experience. I recommend the cinnamon roll but I do not recommend the yogurt with fruit and granola. Not only the yogurt was too liquid but also the bowl was tiny. The creme broule was also tiny and expensive. Coffee was ok.

Muy lindo lugar en el centro viejo de la ciudad. It is a restored pharmacy with all the bottles, tinctures, chair, cabinets and shelves of an old pharmacist. Nice wood and arch and pretty marble tables. We shared a broccoli and cheese tarta piece with a salad which was very delicious and had a homemade tarta crust. Loved the taste of the salad dressing too. Also had a baklava piece which was divine, recommend for sure. A bit pricey but cute and tasty.

Too good! We ordered Hot chocolate, Mocha, Caprese toast, Apple cake and Torta de Ricotta. Everything was really good and tasty, worth the money. Went there on a weekday and it was crowded but still you will get the place to sit. The service was really good and they have menu in both Spanish and English. You can spend a good time and then later go to the port market.

If you want a plant based meal this is the place. The salad I had was spectacular and the meat was replaced with delicious roasted mushrooms. I believe you can also remove goat cheese and roasted tomatoes. The tea was equally beautifully served and the staff very friendly.

Excellent food and, for the area, at a very reasonable price. Apparently the menu changes daily. I enjoyed the baguette with smoked salmon. If I went again, I'd definitely order something from the stovetop, since the entire seating area is just the bar and they cook everything right behind it. It was interesting to watch them cook just meters away, and I was a bit envious that I hadn't ordered something that I'd get to see cooked. I also ordered the creme brulee dessert, which was not my all-time favorite but was still very good and also prepared in view. Definitely recommend this place.

Indeed, Estrecho is there - pretty close to where Google maps has it. Best I can tell it was boarded up when I was looking for it the other day (Google indicated it should be open) due to “Tourism Week”. As such I decided to give it a try wondering if the service was going to be as edgy as the owners reply and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service, good food, and nice ambience. The Place is serving modern cusion. It’s located in the old town of Montevideo. Very nice surroundings. You sit at the table with is in front of the kitchen and all the chefs. Everything is very clean and nice. The food was soo good. Would defiantly recommend. The prices are also very good. We paid 1200 Pesos for two starters, to salad, coffee and water.

Let's start this out stating that to make 2 iced coffees and to serve two portions of already made and cut brownie cake it took them 25+ minutes. Apart from that, both iced coffees were bad, we ordered two: A vanilla iced coffee that had no vanilla flavour at all (and as far as coffee goes, not really that gold either) A caramel frappé that had no caramel taste, and that the whipped cream that came with it was as bland as the coffee itself. Both "torta brownie" which is basically brownie with dulce de leche and meringue on top were kind of good, but it seems that it was not stored properly so both dulce de leche and meringue were starting to dry, which wasn't really that pleasant. Prices were quite expensive for what we got as you may imagine. To top it off, both me and my partner felt sick to our stomach half an hour later. To their credit, the interior decoration was pretty good, although the noises in there were quite loud compared to other coffee places we've been to.

Excellent coffee... and one of the best in Montevideo. Here are a few recommendation which you can try here. - Mocha fratte - Caramel fratte - Vanila with ice Ambience and service are 10 out of 10. It closes at 9 pm and last order you can give at 8:30 pm. There are lots of places where you sit and enjoy your coffe... both inside the cafe and open air sitting arrangement also available. It's totally worth of spending your money here.

Located in a beautiful house very close to the rambla of Montevideo, the Lab is a very cool place where you can really enjoy top quality coffee + very interesting food options to have it with. Be it with a medialuna rellena or a carrot cake, it doesn't really matter- the main player will still be their great coffee. Coffee lovers, this is a must in Montevideo! My recommendation: if you like ice cream, try their affogato.

A great way to spend a Sunday morning. You can spend hours exploring this flea market and not get bored. There’s something for everyone. It is absolutely enormous and there are so many trinkets to find. If you’re into fashion, there are so many vintage and second hand clothes to buy too. There is also a wide variety of food (chivito stalls, fresh produce, fruit and vegetables, cheese, brownies, etc). You cannot visit Montevideo and miss this flea market, it is simply a must. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in this market, it doesn’t exist!

I really enjoyed visiting the Sunday morning fair and recommend going early before it’s too crowded. 9 am is perfect! By 11 it’s filling up and by 12 it’s uncomfortably full on the main street. Lots of local vendors with interesting souvenirs, as well as books, food, antiques, household goods, and super random things as well.

This flea market is crazy huge. You can find anything here. Book lovers paradise - streets of books. Fine art, housewares, home decor, clothes, pet supplies, tools, treasures and junk It's all here. Find the papas rellenas vendor! We got there at 10:30 and by 2pm it was too crowded for us to casually explore.

The owner needs to download that app and claim the listing on there as well, since it is a well-rated GF option in Montevideo. Cecilia, our server, was very patient with our attempts at Spanish and took great care and time explaining the menu, and making sure we were happy. Would go back every day if it were socially acceptable to do so. I will miss this place when I am back in the US. Order the patate con funghi entrada and thank me later!

It like coming back in 1980th Restaurant located within USSR, for some forgotten place that been frozen in time. I would rate with one star but the waiter was cute and polite, the coffee cortado was and Americano were ok, but special cold coffee and desserts were not good, the stoling tastes like very old and dry. The last drop was the price, three coffees and two deserts for 30€. It is the price for top rated bakery, but sure not there.

I came here around 11:00AM. Food is fresh & reasonably priced but however good this place is, it's not great. Certainly average or below average when you compare it to other old historical cafes around the world. Look at the photo of the 'Italian Cappuccino' they served me to understand why they don't make the 'great' rating… they miss the attention to detail that makes all the difference.

Absolutely the worst service I've had on my trip so far. The man brought the menu and while he was giving them to us, asked what we wanted to drink, and left annoyed when we said we didn't know yet. When he came back for the order, he didn't even let us finish to say what we wanted to order, cutting us after the first word and not taking notes of the indications (removing one ingredient). He really acted as if he was in a rush, but the terrace was empty and inside didn't have many people neither - 5pm). The propina was already added to the bill, which I disliked as it was THE place I didn't want to give any. The man was also annoyed when we said we wanted to pay separately (I understand it adds some work, but no other places I've been to have complained about it). The food was alright, but not worth feeling so unwelcomed and rushed.

A combination nursery and restaurant, the service and food are amazing. The drinks are from made by hand of fresh fruits, and there is both inside and outside dining options. When the weather is good, eating outside surrounds the diner with all of the plant life of the vivero (nursery).

A spectacular spot in Montevideo. Polo Bamba is located on the top floor of Hotel Montevideo and offers an incredible experience, both for the atmosphere and the service. Found this place after every other bar around pocitos was full on a saturday night . The experience outside was cozy with the blankets and the fire lamps ( which we had to ask to be switched on ). I enjoyed the view and the drink , the dessert could have been sweet . Would definitely recommend this place for a rooftop experience.

We were there for high tea. The view is spectacular and the decor is beautiful, but the food is terrible. We had capuchinos that were cold, the orange juice is terrible. It’s really very cheap to have fresh orange juice, instead of a bad tasting chemical juice from the supermarket. The croissants were cold, old and soggy, the pastries were old and did not taste good at all. I have had high tea in Montevideo at many places before. This one is one of the most expensive ones, and definitely the worst one.

I would give zero stars, if I could. Stay away from the bar and from the breakfast buffet. As we were guest at the hotel, we received a voucher for a welcome drink. As we waited at the bar to be attended, the waiter first ignored us for five minutes then, other customers arrived, and they were served before us. The caramel latte was amazing! Literally the best caramel latte in all of Montevideo. It’s delicious every time I go. It’s 160 pesos but worth every peso. I love that you order and pay here first, and then you can wait at your table for them to bring you your drink. They also have regular sugar and brown sugar, so you can choose whichever you prefer. The free wifi is nice too and the staff are usually friendly.

Traditional spot in the old town area (Ciudad Vieja) open for lunch and dinner. Now under new management, they still maintain a diverse and tasty menu and are a safe bet for locals and travelers alike. Cocktails and wines are very good too and service is friendly.

I was just there on my 1st night in Montevideo. The staff was great and very welcoming. They made me feel right at home and explained a few local dishes to me with which I was unfamiliar. The bartender was great and gave me a sample of vermouth; it brought me back to my time in Madrid. I ordered off the tapas menu. The portions were actually bigger than I expected for tapas. I hope I can make it back on this trip.

Nice little spot.... Beautiful view of Teatro Solis and good coffee. Menus in English and Spanish, friendly staff. The place is too simple (food and atmosphere) if you are in search of something Uruguayan. However, it is a lovely optional stop in the downtown.

I can report that I had a very good rib-eye steak here, very tender, juicy and exceptionally tasty. They did not have tannat wine by the glass, but I had a couple of glasses of the house red blend which was very nice. Quiet when we were there, but clean and pleasant with neutral decor.

This was a nice little discovery for our family. Our two sons shared 1/2 dozen medialunas and LOVED them. They could have devoured a dozen. My husband had a traditional ham and cheese croissant while I had the caprese. Absolutely delicious. Small seating areas inside and out. Displays were filled with all kinds of tartas, pies, cakes and cookies. Can't wait to go back!

Wonderful place. Incredible selection of cakes, tarts and other goodies. The staff is just absolutely great -- very nice, warm and friendly people. A really nice, comfortable place to relax with a good coffee and something to eat.

One of the very best places in Punta Carretas to get fresh-baked medialunas, empandas, vegetable pies, ham and cheese sandwiches made with giant croissants, a variety of desserts, etc. Table service for customers ordering food and beverages in the back and front of the store, as well as an outdoor area in front. The store is usually bustling with activity, and the staff is very helpful and pleasant. They do a brisk take-away business --- medialunas fresh out of the oven at least twice per day, in the morning and afternoon; dessert items are often made in the afternoon. I've been a customer for over 10 years --- never disappointed. Prices are a bit higher than other places in the neighborhood, but you are paying for quality.

We had a bagel with ham, cheese and tomato. It was delicous. The bagel was very fresh, easy to bite into and really good. We had a coffee as well (americano) very good served in a slightly smaller cup than home but perfectly sized for Uraguay. I chased this with two little cookies. Tasted like shortbread with dulces filling (like a carmel only thicker) home made that morning, very tastey. We will go back tommorow as while we were there we saw some crousants we want to try. Their English was better than my spanish, thankfully, we had this great breakfast.

Solid place to grab something quick to eat. Their medialunas rellanos were tasty and relatively priced, came with jamon and queso. We also ordered submarinos, mistaking them for sandwiches. They are essentially a warm/hot chocolate drink, not bad.

Perfectly extracted double shot express, and their Irish coffee is just right for that biting winter cool. Cappuccino is very mild. What makes the coffee amazing is the view this place offers. A busy beach road with people taking a stroll.

I very rarely give one star ratings but in this case it’s earned. some places in Uruguay, especially in tourist places businesses have the attitude to add 10% “propina” (tip) without even bothering to ask. you don’t find this attitude were locals go. another nuisance is the fact that you don’t see the amount when you enter your credit card code, so you know only at the end, but in this place you could even see your credit card code in clear text, not hidden! what an amateurish system!

Crazy expensive. 2 cokes, 1 juice and a plate of fries cost $26US, over 1,000 UYU. Service was good and very polite but the cost is astronomical. I try to avoid fast-food chains but on this occasion, I should have gone to McDonalds.

La Mostaza has survived many years since it was downtown. It's in the bus terminal of Tres Cruces, the customers are mostly travelers, but the quality has remained. Their pizza is still good as are the rest of the dishes in their limited menu. At Tres Cruces, it is one of the best bars/restaurants. It works very well, they always have customers even though they're not in the food court of the Tres Cruces shopping center.

Literally the worst memory and staff in Uruguay during my trip. Since the old staff didn't understand English nor willing to call help for other staff who can speak English, I searched the google translation "Could you recommend for lunch?" ( too many things in menu didn't show up properly through google Eng-Spanish translation) he read it, and just said "no" and passed away. I inquired on the counter about the coffee they were serving on that particular day and i was given a choice. The Americano that i was served smelled and tasted great. The vibe is also pretty nice. They had a coffee roaster on one side of the space where i could see one of the employees monitoring a batch. There's also breakfast and lunch available.

My family of three came into the cafe early on Saturday morning looking forward to a little food and good coffee. There was no one in the cafe but four baristas behind the counter chatting. I greeted them, but they were not responsive. We moved two tables together so to sit the three of us (in the empty cafe) and were rudely told we could not move two tables together. We were shocked, most especially as there was no one in the cafe. It was clear the baristas did not want our patronage. So we left and went to a more friendly cafe.

A very unique and innovative coffee shop in town, target to those who have a exquisite taste in coffee. But still the ambience is widely welcoming to everyone who wants to enjoy a nice coffee.

Potts has a really friendly ambience, and it’s an ideal place to go with a friend to catch up while enjoying a nice cup of coffee. I’d give it five stars if they had some gluten-free options in their menu. The place is really small, but it’s usually not very crowded, so there’s no problem finding a table.

A cafe with good ambience and coffee. We ordered a capuchino italiano and double espresso. The waiters were quick and very nice. The cafe was good and good thing about cafe is there a varieties of cafe that you wouldn't find in any of the normal cafes. They have varieties of food menu too, i would definitely recommend you to give it a try if you are in that neighborhood. They have a e menu and the QR code didnt really work for us, that's probably the only thing which wasn't good.

Nice cafe! Great attention to detail. Great omelette & scrabbled eggs. All is good here. The seats could be maybe cushioned/vinyl covered and my old bony butt would be as happy as the rest of me. Staff are very good, service oriented.

The caramel latte was good and so was the cheese scone. I have to come back and try the food because the menu sounds good and the food smelled amazing.

I was in the Starbucks on Edgware Road yesterday. I was really disappointed because it was very crowded and noisy. I couldn’t find a place to drink my coffee. What I disliked the most was dirty toilets. The coffee is not bad and the price is reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised by the blueberry muffin so I strongly recommend it. My recommendation is if you would like to buy something in Starbucks you should get a take-away.

Good espresso with a small variety of alfajores and sandwiches. The vibe os pretty cool and the prices are great. They have a good amount of outdoor seating with the Carrasco hotel ans casino right in front.
