Brewery
Urban Brewing is a must-visit spot in Dublin's Rotunda area. The brewery offers a friendly environment and great food options alongside freshly brewed craft beer. It's an ideal place to catch up with friends or watch sports games. Additionally, the IFSC location of Urban Brewing, housed in a historic building from 1820, features stunning stone-wall vaulted interiors and a fabulous outdoor area, making it perfect for enjoying tapas and taps on sunny days.
I work in the airline business and travel frequently. Today I was looking to have a pint, a bite and enjoy a great atmosphere. Urban Brewery did not disappoint. Alejandra the bartender was very kind, attentive, and had great recommendation on the menu. The food was great, beer was fantastic and service amazing. Thank you Alejandra for the great service. I will return again when in Dublin. Thank you Alejandra for the great experience! Cheers! Please do yourself a favor and head downstairs. Beautiful, amazing, experience it’s a must. Please don’t leave until you do so. Thank you for reading.

Such a gorgeous place! First time being here after hearing a lot about it and it’s so fab. We were here for an occasion and we got loads of different plates between us and everything was so good. The Lugh cocktail was divine 😮‍💨 Andrea was looking after us and the service was amazing and he was so great, thanks so much for a great night. Will defo be back! 🤩

Great experience at this restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere as soon as you walk down the steps. Staff was friendly. All the food we ate was delicious. Our server Kevin was very nice and personable. Really enjoyed our time here.

What an incredible find! We came here on accident and what a happy accident it was! The food, superb! Atmosphere, excellent. Kevin our waiter was top notch! This was the best accident you’ve ever had! I forgot to take a picture before we had our first bites—-The mushroom risotto was so good, that’s why there is a picture of an empty plate! 10/10

Urban Brewing. Beautiful location and a promising menu, but the experience didn’t fully deliver. Some dishes were great, others underwhelming. Service lacked warmth, and the surprise charges on the bill left a bad aftertaste. I visited Urban Brewing today with a friend, drawn in by the carefully curated and varied menu that gave off the impression of natural, high-quality cooking. Overall, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. We ordered a snack (selection of house-made dips) and three tapas: the endive salad, grilled seabream, and battered halloumi. We also shared the ribeye steak. 🔸 The dips were interesting but inconsistent. The spiced hummus had a nice kick, but the actual chickpea flavor was barely there. The tomato and black olive dip was more successful — bold and flavorful (especially if you’re a fan of olives like I am). The third, which I believe was butternut squash with cheese, lacked flavor intensity and had a slightly lumpy texture. Honestly, the last two felt more like side dishes than spreadable starters. 🔸 The endive salad was one of the highlights — great crunch from the walnuts, nice contrast with the goat cheese and blood orange, all served in little endive “spoons”. However, the lower leaves were barely dressed, which made the dish feel a bit incomplete. 🔸 The seabream was fresh and well cooked, paired nicely with tomato, olives, and capers. A good portion size for a tapa. 🔸 The battered halloumi was a letdown — too heavy. Thick slices of cheese plus the batter made it overly filling, and we couldn’t finish it. Disappointingly, they don’t offer takeaway for leftovers, which meant perfectly good food went to waste. 🔸 The ribeye steak was tender and cooked to perfection. Great touch with the sauce on the side!— one of the best parts of the meal. ❌ Where the experience really soured was with the bill: nearly €8 for a bottle of water and over €13 added as a “service charge”, which we were not informed about. On top of that, I’ve just noticed we were overcharged on the starter. The staff weren’t particularly warm or communicative either, which didn’t help. 💭 Final thoughts: Urban Brewing has clear culinary potential, and there are dishes I’d still like to try! — but the lack of transparency, food waste, and underwhelming service made this visit fall short of expectations.
Lucía C — Google review
We went here twice in one day. We went around lunchtime for casual drinks and ended going back for supper in the downstairs space. The restaurant upstairs is a very typical high end microbrewery but the downstairs space is beautiful. Everything we ate here was great. The steak, the breads and dip, the crisp potatoes were all very tasty and I would highly recommend!

Wonderful experience! Truly felt like we were underground in the old store houses. You would never know they used to store tea and tobacco 200 yrs ago! Great atmosphere. Ellen was an awesome server too.

I had the pleasure of attending a corporate dinner at Urban Brewing in Dublin, organized by my fiancé’s manager. The event brought together a group of 24 professionals from around the world. Our evening was made exceptional thanks to Kevin, who provided impeccable service throughout. He demonstrated great professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine courtesy. From efficiently managing a large group to ensuring that every guest felt personally attended to, Kevin handled everything with remarkable grace and competence. I wholeheartedly recommend Urban Brewing and commend Kevin for his outstanding service.

Located on the west edge of Temple Bar, Porterhouse Temple Bar is a popular spot offering a constantly changing menu of their own ales, lagers, and stouts. The pub started as a microbrewery over a decade ago and has become one of the best places in town to sample unique Irish brews.
What a cool spot, dog friendly and 3 floors and an outdoor terrace area too so lots of space to eat or have a drink. The staff are super friendly and the menu is massive. Definitely a must in Dublin!
Chris H — Google review
Location & Access: Located in the heart of Dublin city centre, this multi-level pub is easily accessible from all parts of the city via public transport. Its central location makes it a convenient and popular choice for both locals and visitors. Ambience & Space: The pub delivers a classic Irish pub atmosphere. The second and third floors offer great views of the bustling street below, and on the third floor, you can even catch a glimpse of the beer brewing setup, which adds a cool, behind-the-scenes vibe. There’s also a coin-operated phone charging station on the ground floor—handy for longer visits. Menu & Drinks: The pub serves a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, alongside a food menu that includes chicken wings, soups, fries, and more. What truly sets this place apart is its unique selection of craft beers. Their fruity and sour varieties are particularly noteworthy—the “salad beer” and passion fruit beer are personal favorites, offering rare flavors you don’t often find in other Dublin pubs. They also stock a wide variety of bottled beers, spirits, and house specials, catering to many tastes. Cleanliness & Facilities: The venue is well-maintained and clean across all floors, contributing to a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Staff & Service: While staff are generally competent, there's room for improvement in terms of professionalism and attentiveness. At times, clients may be left waiting. The customer service approach could be warmer and more engaging. Pricing: Prices are fair and reasonable, especially considering the variety of craft options and the central location. Final Thoughts: I’ve visited this pub several times and plan to return—mainly for their unique beer offerings. It's a great spot if you're exploring Dublin city centre and want to try something new in a relaxed, multi-floor setting.

It's a great pub with a great atmosphere, a variety of craft beers that flow against the flow of Guinness, not the other way around, a great music selection, and great Irish bands. This pub, which has won numerous awards and medals, is, in my opinion, the best in Dublin.
Serdar B — Google review
The Porterhouse Pub in Dublin is an absolute gem for anyone looking to enjoy an authentic, vibrant Irish pub experience with a modern twist. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a warm, open, and inviting atmosphere. It manages to strike the perfect balance between being lively and relaxed — ideal whether you’re catching up with friends, meeting new people, or just looking for a comfortable place to unwind after a long day. One of the standout aspects is the incredible variety of drinks. The Porterhouse is well-known for its strong offering of craft beers, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. Whether you’re a seasoned beer lover or just dipping your toes into the world of hops and malts, there’s something here for everyone. They also serve an impressive array of cocktails and other spirits, making it a solid spot for mixed-drink fans too. Of course, a pint of Guinness is a must in any Irish pub, and The Porterhouse serves it excellently — smooth, creamy, and at €7.20, it’s competitively priced for the area. It’s poured with care and pride, just as it should be. Overall, The Porterhouse is more than just a place to grab a drink. It’s a welcoming space that combines great beverages, good conversation, and a rich atmosphere. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike.

Absolutely great food, great atmosphere and really nice staff. We got the classic beef burger and vegan burger and both were fantastic, super tasty and food came quite quickly. Great pub for a tasty meal and good pint of Guinness. Lots of options for everyone.

Had a great burrito bowl for lunch. Very filling and the service was excellent. We usually come here when in Dublin. The beer was good too.

Best beer-bar in Dublin, situated in an iconic area for any beer lover. Professional bartenders, excellent service. Nota bene for their special treatement: 3 oysters and an Oyster Stout for only 12 euros! Hurray!

Tapped Late Bar, formerly known as Judge Roy Beans & Porterhouse Central, is a spacious and traditional pub located in the heart of Dublin. With its Grafton Street entrance, it boasts one of the largest selections of craft brews in town with over 50 taps on-site. The bar offers a funky and relaxed vibe with unique keg-style seating and vintage prints adorning the walls. In addition to their impressive beer selection, Tapped also serves comfort food and premium cocktails on tap.
Great place with a good atmosphere. They even have German Pilsner from tap. The variety of different beers available is just amazing. This bar is worth a visit. The food's nice too. I had the chicken bowl the other day.

Nice big fresh sandwich. Decent price. 10. Glass of wine expensive over 10.00 didn't look at the menu so my own fault. Large selection of beer. Service friendly but slow. Especially as always seem to be way to many staff to customer ratio. This visit place was quiet. But the place echoy due to furniture style.

Pleasant staff. Sat at the bar for a pint and some food. I had the satay mushroom bowl with tofu and my friend had the house salad with chicken. Both could have used more sauce/dressing. The poutine was excellent. Great place to watch sports.

We had a really good beef burger & chicken burger on a Friday afternoon. Great value, main, side & soft drink for €13.50!! There was a delay in getting our meal but it was handled very well by the staff. Definitely recommend
Anne M — Google review
The only reason I didn’t rate my food 5 stars, is because it was a bit too spicy. Other than that I was PLEASANTLY surprised! I’m usually a very picky eater because I’m scared of germs and new food but this place was awesome. It was clean, happy environment, and the food made me come out of my comfort zone to try. I got the California bagel with everything removed except avocado but when my food came out it had avocado and grilled chicken. BUT, it looked amazing and even though they were very apologetic and willing to make it again, I insisted that it was okay and I didn’t mind. And I’m so happy they accidentally put chicken on my bagel because it was absolutely spectacular!
Alice B — Google review
A good selectio nof beers, food is ok. Place obviously gets very busy on Friday nights. That being said it is in a great location and overall I would recommend at least for one pint. As the night progresses ove on to places with more atmosphere.
Ross C — Google review
Amazing spot for gluten free options! They had TWO gf beers available on draught. Plus, an amazing gluten free burger! The music is cool and fun. The scene is joyous without being too ruckus. If you are gluten free and really miss the traditional burger and a beer - this is your new spot!

Pub
Irish pub
Toners, located on Baggot Street in Dublin, is a long-established pub with a rich history dating back to 1818. It is renowned for serving one of the best pints of Guinness in the city and has captured the hearts of famous figures like WB Yeats. The pub exudes old-world charm with its traditional wooden snug area and original features from Victorian times.
Want to get a feel for a local pub in Dublin - this is your spot. Pub has a lot of character, huge heated outdoor seating ( Toner’s Yard). Great place to hang out with friends and a few pints.
Sac C — Google review
Arrive in Dublin on Sunday and what do you do? Have a drink in a few bars maybe? Toners was one such place. A bit of an Irish institution. Crazily busy but still found a table. On the surface it’s mad. But boy is it well run. Table service works brilliantly so no waiting. Nice pint or two of Guinness ( read the sign) Smithies red ale was also a great pint. Nice music going on and a wonderful atmosphere. Would I go back? You bet I would 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇮🇳 Recommended 😁
Larry H — Google review
Was looking for a good Irish pub - not a crazy bar/restaurant. Toners checked all the boxes. Popular and full on a good night. Almost private and serene on an early Sunday afternoon. The proprietor was awesome, polite and friendly and great place to get a good Irish pub experience without the craziness.
Christopher H — Google review
Great atmosphere. We are happy we stopped in for a Guinness. Felt like this is where the locals go, but maybe it is not, idk either way we enjoyed it.
Cam O — Google review
Always a lively pub, especially from Thursdays to Saturdays. If you want a seat you need to get in early. If you’re happy standing you can come at anytime - just be aware that on match day many supporters come here before, during, and after the match, so it can get exceptionally busy. Guinness from inside is usually a 8/10, however I’ve had some dodgey pours and some exceptional pours so take that as an average.
Eoin — Google review
Toners is one of the coziest and most authentic pubs in Dublin — perfect for a relaxed afterwork pint. They don’t serve food, but the great thing is you can bring your own. Right across the street is Cirillo’s, one of the best Italian pizzerias in town. Great Guinness, warm lighting, wooden tables, and that timeless pub charm you just can’t fake
Marco L — Google review
Really cool spot in a great area of dublin. Classic pub inside, with a nice courtyard that is covered in the back. Very lively and a good crowd. Lots of spots to sit, but does get quite busy.

Step back in time with this pub. We sat in the " snug" and were very well looked after by the staff. Really nice wholesome atmosphere which I think sets this pub apart from it's competition.

Live music venue
The Big Romance, named after an album by Irish musician David Kitt, opened in 2018 and quickly became a hotspot for music enthusiasts in Dublin. Co-owned by Dave Parle and Stephen Manning of Hidden Agenda, the venue boasts a custom hi-fi sound system and strictly plays vinyl records. On Sundays, guests can enjoy live jazz sessions by the Dublin-based trio Organ Freeman. The bar offers a wide selection of craft beers on tap as well as cocktails for those who prefer mixed drinks.
It is imperative to visit this place on any Sunday (at least once), as it is a crime to not attend their sublime live jazz performance. Advanced booking is strongly recommended to reserve seating as spaces quickly fill up. A wonderfully cozy, vibrant and lively atmosphere. Staff are amiable and enthusiastic. Food and drinks are reasonably priced (and delightful). Magnificent bar overall. This place is well worth visiting.

Awesome bar: craft beer, cocktails and jazz! Perfect match. They can fetch you a real Italian pizza from a secret supplier 😀
Mircea-Bogdan T — Google review
Not entirely sure if I understand the concept - the write-up mentions state of the art hi-fi system which is barely audible and seems no better than any smart speaker on the market. An extensive range of craft beers is welcome - the atmospher was busy but not loud or brash, an interesting range of ages. A decent enough experience and wish I'd stayed for longer
Martin M — Google review
Great chill spot for cocktails. Mango groove was lovely and we also had the big smoke which was a great non alcoholic option. The atmosphere really adds to the experience. We went on a Sunday for live jazz and really enjoyed it! We got two pizzas for dinner and they were great.

The Bath Pub, situated on Bath Avenue in Dublin 4 near the Aviva Stadium, is a popular modern suburban pub with a terrace and a lovely sun trap of a beer garden. It's known for serving cocktails in jam jars and offering a menu featuring pizzas and burgers. The pub welcomes walk-ins and allows bookings for its outdoor terrace.
Stopped by The Bath pub and had a perfect pint of Guinness — smooth, rich, and poured just right. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the whole visit feel welcoming. Great atmosphere, great pint — I’ll definitely be back!

Awesome place!!! We celebrated a birthday party with a theme. We were in a outside place and we could here the live music from the inside wich was bothering all night our event. I had camaroni rings and they were delicious but veery spicy (I would recommend only if you like it, I didn't knew and I don't do spicy so.. don't be like me and ask! Staff ARE GREAT!! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR ATTENTION ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Super nice pub in a small street but close to the main city center. Football watching, great atmosphere, very good service and food beyond what you can expect in a pub. Good variety of drinks. I loved it.

My wife, our dog, and I visited, The Bath Pub this weekend, and from the moment we walked in, we felt completely at home. The staff were amazing! Friendly, welcoming, and attentive and the food was excellent. It’s so refreshing to find a Dublin pub that’s genuinely dog-friendly! With a great atmosphere, delicious food, and the football on, we’ve definitely found our new local.

Irish pub
Blackbird is a trendy tavern located in Rathmines, offering a laid-back and retro vibe. The bar is known for its extensive selection of craft beers, including both Irish and international varieties, making it a popular spot for beer enthusiasts. In addition to the impressive beer selection, Blackbird also serves up delicious pizzas, adding to the overall appeal of the venue. The cozy and quirky interior creates an inviting atmosphere for patrons to relax and enjoy their drinks.
I went to Blackbird with a couple of friends for a meet up. They have a wide range of alcohols to choose from. I ordered double shots of gin with tonics and my friends went for the ginger beer. The pub gets really busy in the evenings especially on weekends, however this place serves a very happening and cosy vibe. Their staff is very friendly and quick to serve. They serve Pizzas, however they’re brought from the next door Neapolitan pizza shop - UNO Pizzas and they are super to taste. We ordered the margarita and hot honey pizza. Both the pizzas were yumm, however the hot honey was a super sweet pizza. One of my “MUST VISIT PUB”recommendations.
Anwesha G — Google review
The pub as the name suggests has dark and dim light interiors all tables under candle light. The pub has a great selection of drinks. It's a great place to hand out with friends, and they provide decent selection of board games to enjoy as a group. They have limited food options. They get their food from Uno pizza from across the road. So not much options other than pizza. That being said pizza's are really good. Great place for pizza and drinks and to catch up with friends.
Vineet C — Google review
I’ve been a loyal customer of this pub for the last four years and have always loved the atmosphere and the memories I’ve made here. It really pains me to leave a one-star review, but my recent experience with the new security staff has left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. When leaving the pub with my friends, we paused briefly at the entrance to say goodbye. The security guard asked us to move, saying we were blocking the entrance, and we complied. However, as I turned to say a quick goodbye to my friends, the security guard mocked and mimicked me, which felt incredibly unprofessional. When I addressed his behavior and said it was rude, he replied, “Well, I warned you twice.” I believe a security guard’s role is to ensure the safety and comfort of all patrons, not to antagonize or mock regular customers who pose no threat to the business or other customers. I’ve never had issues at this pub before, and I hope the management will address this matter. If I see improvements in how customers are treated, I’ll be more than happy to update my review to reflect the pub I’ve come to love.

Lovely place. A lot of young folks, some funny board games and great selection of drinks. Loved the vibe only down side the room was quite big and it was really hard to understand each other because of the noise (which is quite unfortunate for playing board games) but would recommend!

Stellar spot for a pint and a pizza, the lads working there are all dead sound* and they have some great pizzas available to order in. Cracking outside area that gets the evening sun and good music playing, gets busy early so get in while you can. *One woman working there got genuinely pissed off that I asked to charge the phone but otherwise they're all legends 😅

Staff were all a bit strange. They kept asking us for ID even though we showed them. They asked every time we asked for a drink. In 28, it was actually a nice compliment if anything. They might have been drunk on the job or something I don't know.
Oisin G — Google review
Cozy atmosphere, beer that hits the spot, and pizza that somehow tastes better than my cooking, and that’s saying something. Honestly, I came for the beer, stayed for the pizza, and considered never leaving. What more could you ask for?

If you would like to get a table here is better to reserve in advance. For a Saturday was impossible to get something for 3 people. Is a bit loud if you would like to chat. Otherwise the atmosphere is nice.

With its olive-green walls and eclectic furniture, this traditional pub exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. The spacious interior features large windows that let in plenty of natural light, creating a relaxed environment perfect for enjoying conversations over drinks.
Great place! Friendly stuff, nice selection of artisanal beers, stunning cod and chips. Creatures of any age are welcome, including babies and dogs. Board games are very popular, so be sure to find something before someone will snatch it.

Excellent food, great selection of craft beers. Professional service. Good music and a very cosy atmosphere, although the bar can accomodate large groups.

Hands down the best fish and chips I've ever had. The portions are huge! And it was a real piece of flaky tasty fish - not just a flat piece of deep fried batter. If you're in Dublin - go here!

Simply amazed me in a few seconds right after my bbq arrived which actually was fish and chips.. never seen such big fried fish and it really went well with their draft beers! Best choice i made this week!

Nice enough pub with a decent beer selection. Was very crowded when I went there and a bit too loud for my liking, but it was Halloween, so probably a bit more lively than usual. Did not try the food.

Had a fantastic Dinner at the Black Sheep today. We had the Bola Chilli and the Chilli was one of the best I had. But be warned it is a little bit spicy. Super friendly and accommodating staff.

This pub is a really nice place to spend some time. It has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff who make you feel comfortable from the start. The food is tasty and well-prepared, and the prices are fair for what you get. The music is enjoyable, and the dim lighting gives the place a cozy touch. It's lively and fun, and we ended up making plenty of noise ourselves while playing cards 😋😋😋 Overall, a solid and enjoyable pub that feels good to come back to.

With an outdoor space, shuffleboard, and 32 taps of craft beer, this urban venue inside a red shipping container boasts two floors, an outdoor terrace, shuffleboard tables, and even a photobooth.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Vibes and Even Better Beer! Had an awesome time at BrewDog! The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the beer selection was top-notch. Tried a few of their IPAs and was seriously impressed bold flavors and really fresh. The food was also great (highly recommend the loaded fries!). Definitely a place I’d come back to with friends. Big thanks to the team for making it such a great experience!

Very cool atmosphere and large inside. The view is stellar as it overlooks the water and there is the option to sit outside as well. They had a very nice tap selection and a robust food menu, but I thought the portions were small for the price. The food was really good though! The upstairs kitchen is very cool with shuffle board. The staff were fine, not super friendly but provided prompt service. Definitely a great spot to stop for a bite and a beer.

I know this place is famous for their craft beers but the brunch here is worth the visit too! There are outside chairs and tables and a lot of room inside as well. Sunny day brunch would be perfect here!! We always come back here for their buttermilk chicken and waffles. The chicken and the waffles are the crispiest i ever tried! We also tried here the american breakfast, buffalo chicken wings and their burger. All options are really goood! If you want that satisfying kick from their chicken wings, try their buffalo! one of the best! And the view here and the vibe is cherry on top! This is a really good place day and night!

A fantastic pub restaurant with the perfect balance of cozy charm and excellent food. The menu is thoughtful and all cooked to a very high standard. The server Joao was welcoming and attentive without being intrusive, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The drinks selection is impressive too. I visited for Wings Wednesday, and while the beers were excellent, I can't say the same for the wings. They tasted like they were cooked last week—only the ones with buffalo sauce were somewhat decent, but even those were not great. On a positive note, the wait staff was incredibly kind and attentive. I’d return for the beer, but definitely not for the wings.

L. Mulligan Grocer, located in the evocatively named village of Stoneybatter on the Northside of Dublin, is a gastropub and world-beer emporium that has retained its authentic Dublin feel despite its transformation from an old local grocer. The spot offers a wide selection of small-label ales, lagers, and stouts, making it a destination for beer enthusiasts.
We did not have a reservation, we messed that up. But the host was able to get us seated in under an hour. Honestly, best food drinks and service we have had in our 2 week tour of the UK, British Isles, and Ireland. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. The chefs outdid themselves. Had the fish and chips and the fish was so fresh and clean tasting, the chips were cooked perfectly, and the tartar sauce was outstanding. The duck wings had the best flavor, juicy and tender. The Bleu cheese dip was so unique and tasty. Our cocktails were amazing. Strong, but amazing! Overall an exceptional experience.

Incredible food! The fish and chips is probably the best one I’ve ever had and the duck wings are not to be missed! Also loved the cauliflower and potato dish, definitely didn’t miss the meat. I love when veggie dishes are thought out and not just an after thought. Highly recommend.

Really delicious - it's obvious you care about the food you serve. Very imaginative menu. The brown bread was addictive! It was the best meal we had in Dublin. And we liked the traditional pub atmosphere and the service was friendly and welcoming.

Very good food - special shout out to the modern take on a black pudding! We would 100% go back to eat there again, but the service unfortunately felt quite rushed and disorganized. Other than that the staff was friendly and helpful in picking out whiskey and wine, and all in all we enjoyed our dinner there.

Scotch Eggs - The breading was dry and came off the sausage. Fish & Chips - The fish fillet was thin and dry. Tasteless. Sticky Toffee Pudding - Dry and tasteless. Not enough caramel sauce. Friendly and immediate service.

Couldn't reccomend enough. Iv been back 3 times this month and looking forward to our next meal. From the expert and friendly service, wealth of knowledge about their produce and attention to detail, this place top of my list in the area if not the city. UnderDog has carved out a niche for itself in Dublin's vibrant pub scene, having transitioned from its previous locations to a new home where Beerhouse once thrived. Nestled between the iconic Christchurch Cathedral and Trinity College on Dame Street, this underground gem is celebrated for its impressive selection of craft beers sourced from local breweries. While it may not serve food—encouraging patrons to bring their own or enjoy occasional pop-up offerings—the focus here is undeniably on the brews.
The number 1 place in Dublin (and maybe in the world?!) for superb craft beer. The taps rotate often, there is always something new to try. The owners are always so friendly and make you feel welcome. Real gem of the neighborhood!

Good beer, good vibes and good taste in music! Also friendly people, both staff and customers. On the pictures you see the Fantasm Planes pale ale and the Smudge Cocoa Porter. I found this place through a beer blog and just hopped in as a solo traveller. Felt welcoming even though I was alone!

Excellent assortment of local craft beers. Very nice variety tap list with a wide variety of brewers. The other real gem is the bottle selection, they carry Cantillon beer ( wished I noticed sooner) and other gems. Wish you were here IPA was pretty good, had a nice hop bitterness but balanced. Knowledgeable bar tender, not at all busy on a Sunday night. No food just great beer.

They've got a great draft list and immaculate vibes - this was my favorite spot for a pint during my trip to Dublin. It's close to the touristy areas, but offers a very local vibe and focuses on independently-owned beer brands. Highly recommended if you want to move beyond macro brews during your trip!

The bar has a good range of craft beers, including some gluten free options; they also have a recurring pub quiz. This bar is very small so it can be crowded/can be hard to find a place to sit, but the atmosphere is nice. However, sometimes, later in the evening, it can be a little too loud to easily talk.

The Church Café Bar is a sympathetically converted 17th-century church located on Jervis Street in Dublin. It now serves as a cafe, late bar, and restaurant, offering a unique dining experience beneath stained-glass windows and original wall tablets. The venue also features an original organ built by Renatus Harris and the burial crypts can be visited within the building. Despite its name, The Church used to be known as St.
The Church Restaurant in Dublin is such a unique and vibrant spot! I loved the live music—it’s a great way to experience local culture while enjoying a meal. The fish and chips were excellent—light, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also loved how the space is divided into different sections, giving it a lively yet comfortable atmosphere. It’s spacious enough to host a lot of people without feeling crowded. A must-visit for great food, music, and atmosphere!
Michelle M — Google review
Although this isn't a typical Irish pub, since it is located at an old church, that's exactly what makes it special and different from the other pubs. The atmosphere was great, the food was great, the music and traditional dances too! The design of the space was very well accomplished.
Lúcia A — Google review
We went for a late lunch to try out the restaurant. There was a lot of hype about the restaurant. The food was good but the drinks were expenses. €16 for a cocktail. The server was very attentive and friendly. The food was reasonable but not remarkable. The atmosphere was what we were there for. The organ looked neat, the stained glass was pretty and the bar looked fancy.

fantastic vibe, really cool architecture and great drinks. Drinks run an average of 16 euro as of Nov. 2025, but the bartender's are top notch, as is the atmosphere. worth checking out, especially when live music and dancing take place. Absolutely fantastic for dates! Try the Irish Penicillin while you're here! Poitin (an ingredient in the wonderful drink) was banned for hundreds of years here, and now you can try it!

What an amazing place! Dropped by with a group of friends after an evening event and we were blown away. This is a converted church that still has the magnificent large pipe organ - such a unique atmosphere! We managed to order dinner just before the kitchen closed, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The burgers were excellent. As if the setting wasn't special enough, we even got to watch some Irish dancing during our visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for good food in a truly one-of-a-kind venue!
Jeffrey C — Google review
Giving this restaurant a 5 just based on the atmosphere alone. It's a really cool environment with remnants of the church, but with a huge bar in the middle, presumably where the pews used to be. We sat upstairs, which is highly recommended, so you have views of the bar, the Irish dancing, and the entire restaurant. A reservation is a must, I would think, unless you want to stand in a long line, and even then, you might get a seat on the ground floor. The food was pretty good here. We ate at the restaurant on a Sunday, so we got their special Sunday menu. As a starter, we got the Pork Ribs and those were excellent. For dinner, I got the Traditional Irish Lamb Stew, which was just ok, I would say. Nothing out of the ordinary. But, my wife got the Sunday Roast and that was excellent. If I could order again, I would have ordered that as well. For dessert, we had the Apple Crumble which was very good. And then with the assorted drinks/wine/coffee, really made for a good meal and good experience. Back to the dancing. This occurs every night at 7 pm, I believe, and it's traditional Irish music along with the dancing. It might change, but the night we were there, there were two dancers. Very entertaining and gave us what we felt was an authentic Irish experience. Finally, the servers were very friendly and attentive. It was a great meal out.
Dave H — Google review
Was sat at the bar for half an hour. Three separate parties that arrived after us were served before us. We tried several times to catch the bar staffs attention without any joy. I’d recommend drinking before you come here otherwise you’ll be thirsty. Apart from that, the live music and dancers were amazing and I’d recommend visiting even if it’s just to see them perform.

The Bernard Shaw Pub is a vibrant spot in Dublin with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The pints typically cost between €6–€8, which is in line with city prices. The ambience is casual and lively, with colorful décor and often a soundtrack of local chatter or live music. What really stands out, though, is the staff—friendly, attentive, and quick with a smile (and a recommendation if you’re unsure what to order!). Whether you’re popping in for one drink or settling in for the evening, it’s a great place to enjoy a well-poured pint in a relaxed, social setting.

Had an amazing evening at The Bernard Shaw, made even better by our fantastic waiter, Cain. From the get-go, he was friendly, quick with a laugh, and made us feel totally at home. It’s not every day you get service that feels this genuine. I went for a burger and a pint of Guinness. Simple, classic, and absolutely spot on. Cain checked in just enough to make sure everything was perfect, without ever interrupting the flow of conversation. Nestled in the charming Ranelagh district of Dublin, Michie Sushi is a vibrant Japanese restaurant that has been serving delectable sushi and noodle dishes since its inception as a take-away and catering service in 2007. The family-run establishment takes its name from the Japanese word "michie," which means filled with smiles and laughter, reflecting the joy they derive from seeing patrons relish their award-winning sushi.

I have been absolutely gumming for sushi the last while. I follow a couple of Japanese restaurants on Insta and their photos has had me increasingly titillated. For a restaurant that is Instagram used very well as it literally gets them a hungry person in the door. So tonight, I ordered online from @michiesushi in Ranelagh. Himself got the tuna and salmon mixed sushi platter and some gyoza. I got everything you see on this plate, 2 tubs of wakame and a mochi for dessert. I'm no expert in Japanese food but I look for certain things when I try a new restaurant: the quality of the sushi rice, the freshness of the ingredients and that clean, sweet flavour you can get from really great sushi. It's all present here with the added bonus that the nori (the seaweed wrap) used was better than any I have had in Dublin before. It was soft and added to the cone rather than just set its boundaries. Highlights of the meal were the spicy tuna cone, the wakame, the sashimi and the mochi, which I dare say may have been made on the premises, which was a completely new experience from me. On top of that, when you order through their website for the first time, you are offered a 20% discount. I am completely blown away.

If I could, I would give zero starts. I was really surprised by this because its not my first time there and I wanted it to be nice and easy, just drinks with friends and family. I booked the reservation on time, sent an email as instructed (never got the confirmation but what can I do about it?) It was for my Birthday, the girl came and took the table as they said that its reserved. As was mine. It was important that its outside because we all smoke. He told my mom to get up and leave, extremely rude, harsh with words and it looked like he enjoyed it, sick. When I came staff member was TOO RUDE, said that it doesn't matter that I called, then booked via email, and that there is nothing he can do. I did everything that is required, overall my birthday was more complicated by this, I had to go get drinks by myself, they switched the drinks so many times and I said that its not my drink and they made me pay either way. nobody ever came to ask what would we like to drink, its usually a place that I like to visit and have my drinks. It was more than UNPLEASANT service. I didn't want to call the manager because I'm above it. Did it ruin my birthday? Yes it did. Will I go again? No I wont. Will I recommend the place? Absolutely not. I dont know why it's so hard to be a decent human being and see what u can do about the reservation because I did everything I was told to do. To be honest I regret not talking to the manager because I think that this behavior is unacceptable (i worked in service industry for years before and I have to say I've never seen anyone so rude and bad at their job with the smile on his face the whole time) Absolutely disrespectful. He of course didn't want to tell me his name, not surprised. Overall experience 2/10 If u want a drink that u didn't order, to be disrespected by staff members, and pay for that whole experience, this is the right place for you.

The Bar With No Name: A Plea to Preserve Its Soul ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5 stars) After 8+ loyal years at The Bar With No Name, I'm disheartened by recent changes since Simone left and new management took over. This wasn't just another Dublin pub - its house-like décor, alternative atmosphere, and exceptional cocktail menu (especially that unforgettable passion fruit caipirinha) made it truly special. Today, I found my favorite cocktails gone from the menu. The staff kindly made our passion fruit caipirinha when requested, but its absence from the menu signals a concerning shift. This matters because unique offerings attract unique people. By standardizing the menu, you risk becoming just another pub that could exist on any Dublin corner, attracting generic crowds rather than the distinctive clientele that built your reputation. The Bar With No Name has always been the place I proudly showed visiting friends - "You won't find this anywhere else." That exclusivity is your strength, not something to discard. This isn't a complaint but heartfelt feedback: your bar's character was built through years of distinctive choices. Honoring that legacy while evolving is possible. Please don't sacrifice what made this place extraordinary - Dublin has enough ordinary pubs, but only one Bar With No Name that we've loved for nearly a decade.

My friends and I walked in and spent less than 15 minutes inside. Maybe it was the weekend that we came but it was overpacked and not really our vibe. Hopefully we’ll come back during a less crowded time. Albeit this was the weekend of the Vikings vs Steelers game.

The food and cocktails were good, the cocktails were a little pricey but also really yummy so I would recommend trying them out when you have the chance. The atomosphere is fun, they have some really nice decor and the different types of indoor and outdoor seating. The bar itself is tough to find on the road but the experience is great!

They definitely need a lot of maintenance. It’s not cleaned, and not sure why they just keep things like this. There was dust. Unfortunately, I wasn’t comfortable at all. The employees are friendly and the place is crowded usually just like the other bars nearby.

Up a flight of stairs is a tucked away bar with many sides. The first is a small dark room with some couches. The left side is outdoors with covered seating (still wet in certain parts) but cozy and tons of seating. Inside there's a large room with table and couch seating. This bar has a good vibe for chilling and hanging out. No loud music, peaceful. I got the no name cocktail for 15€ which was tasty but a quick drink. The egg whites created a fluff to the top.

Bonobo, located in the vibrant Smithfield neighborhood of Dublin, is a trendy joint known for its lively atmosphere and impressive outdoor terrace with ample seating. The bar features a beautiful interior with old stone and bare brick walls, as well as a retractable canopy for outdoor seating even in rainy weather. This contemporary spot attracts young creatives and cocktail enthusiasts alike. Hidden gem in Dublin! Located in Smithfield this place is fancy and casual at the same time: there are intriguing indoors with selected paintings of modern art and relaxing cute outdoors with heating to keep you warm. Cocktails are delicious and the pizza is gnummy. The staff is very nice, smiling and relaxed. This is the perfect place to hang out with your friends, to go for a date or for a meeting with the workmates, it really has it all! The owner has a really good style, as every corner is well thought, great job! Can’t wait to go back!

Spent a Tuesday evening here as a couple. We sat at the outdoor terrace which had a lovely vibe, our server was friendly and chatty and overall the atmosphere was great. The servers also check on you often and food/drinks arrive fast. It got pretty loud and lively at times, but you can still have conversation. We had the special pizza (which had tuna tartare) it was so unique and unlike anything we had before, we absolutely loved it. I can confidently recommend their house cocktails as well, we had a few of those and they were amazing (especially the Regina!) We will be back:)

Such a cool and hip vibe to spend time on Friday night. The pizza is not sure with the price. It has lovely doughs but also has mussy toppings on the top with a small size. And the most annoying point is actually that all the staffs keep asking to order more like 3 times in 10 mins. We just finished pizzas and is kinda full to be honest with no room for drinks yet. But it feels like forcing to pour liquid into my stomach and then became so lazy to not chat anymore. I tried their cocktails a long time ago and it was average. Anyway it’s just all about the atmosphere.

I adored this restaurant and beer garden. The vibe was wonderful there and the beer tent was such a fun vibe. The beer list had lots of options and the personal sized pizza were amazing! As a sour beer lover and vegan there were plenty of options!

Great bar, away from the main tourist areas and definitely worth seeking out. Very friendly staff, great selection of drinks and absolutely fantastic pizzas. It was very busy when we visited (8pm on a Thursday) and I would say it's the same everyday. It's easy to see why it attracts such a crowd, a must visit when you are in Dublin.

Awesome spot in Smithfield neighborhood. Beer selection was incredible and the pizza was perfection. I ordered the potato and pancetta pizza and could not recommend it enough. The bartenders were super friendly and attentive and provided great service despite how busy it was. Would definitely add this to your list if you are in the area.

Irish pub
Swan Bar is a classic Victorian pub located in Dublin's city center. It features a marble bar counter, carved wooden back bar, and a cozy fireplace at the back. The ambiance is similar to other popular pubs like The Stags Head and The Long Hall. On quiet weekday nights, visitors can enjoy sitting by the fire with a pint or take advantage of the outdoor tables on sunny days. Additionally, there's an ultra-romantic cocktail bar upstairs for those seeking a chic atmosphere.
The Swan Bar is by far one of the nicest bars in Dublin - not just because of the great pints, delicious food, fantastic atmosphere and authentic decor but because the staff are amazing and some of the nicest people you will meet. We had a portion of our wedding day at the Swan Bar and Darren and the staff were so lovely and accommodating to us and our family for what we wanted. The bar has an authentic charm and is dog friendly which was key for our wedding day. Also beautiful pints of Guinness which Darren showed us how to pour so we could capture some fun photos in our wedding clothes! Darren and team reserved the snug for us so our parents and our dog could be comfortable in a private space, they brought over water for our dog and were genuinely so invested and caring towards us on our special day. The Swan Bar is somewhere you must visit, it is definitely one of our favourite places in Dublin. It's a place you feel welcome and not just a customer. Thank you so much to everyone for being part of making our day perfect and magical, we are so full of gratitude.

Must order the Irish Coffee here, one of the most balanced and smooth ones I’ve had. Also a perfect place for rugby fans and just a casual pint. It is a great representation of a good pub in Dublin.

Needed to buy a pair of running shorts…mission accomplished. Saw the Swan bar across the street. Perfect Ireland corner bar. Met every expectation. I first ordered a pint of Guinness the a Jamison Ginger. I thought I needed to make it a double. So I ordered double the Jamison. My bartender brought me a single Jamison Ginger. Then a double Jamison too. First I laughed then thinking about it…it was what I ordered. I drank it all 😊😉

Great bartender (Tom), Great Irish Pub. If you’re looking for the local flavor this is one of those spots. Brenda (very nice with a great smile) was very quick in taking care of us when away from the bar.
David W — Google review
I entered the bar and approached the counter, the man behind the bar walked to the opposite end away from me so I approached another server who took my order, then the man returned to say to me that the owner doesn't allow tracksuit bottoms but that he would allow me one drink (im 38 and was wear stylish bottoms, not dirty bottoms after a football match), I looked around the bar and one man was wearing shorts and another old man entering was wearing grey cotton tracksuit pants so I asked the man was the boy in shorts given the same speech as me about casual wear and he said no because it's a sunny day out and they expect people to dress more casually on a sunny day, the server behind the bar had his shirt hanging out of his trousers and no sign to be found in the bar regarding essential neat dress so I mentioned this and he wasn't happy. I naturally decided not to stay in a place i felt unwelcome. A private word or taken to one side would have been a better approach than schooling someone in middle of the pub floor in front of other patrons. Very unpleasant experience. Can't comment on food as didn't eat or drink and wasn't offered a menu.
Daniel B — Google review
It is my favorite pub in Dublin. Let’s be honest maybe my favorite Irish pub in the world. It is a beautiful Victorian pub that has been owned by the same family for years. 87 years. A definite rugby bar too. They pour a perfect Guinness and you can learn a lot about Irish whiskey here. I have been here several times including at the end of the pandemic and I have always received top notch service. I feel very comfortable coming in for a pint as a solo female traveler. There is a covered outdoor area if the weather is nice. If you don’t want to drink, they make a great flat white. My kids in their 20s love it too.

Fidelity Bar, located in Dublin, originated from The Big Romance and Whiplash brewery's collaboration for the Fidelity beer festival. This craft beer haven opened its doors in 2023, offering a sleek space with rotating DJs that was previously occupied by Dice Bar. The bar features a dozen temperature-controlled taps showcasing a variety of beers from Whiplash, including their popular Body Riddle Pale Ale and Never Cursed Grisette-style small beer.
We stopped in after a show I the Bord Gais for food and some drinks. I had heard a bit about this place but not enough detail to know what to expect. We were blown away by everything about Fidelity, from the initial atmosphere at 7pm on a Saturday evening to the extensive choice of drinks and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Especially the lovely Iza who looked after us so politely and warmly in the restaurant and Dylan who looked after us in the bar beforehand and was very thoughtful with his drinks recommendations. Well, let me tell you we sampled a lot of cocktails and food which was a wonderful journey of delightful drinks and amazing tapas like food. The place itself stands in a slightly run down part of Dublin but when you step inside you could be in trendy London or bustling NYC. We found the prices very reasonable for the experience you got and a city centre bar. Do yourself a huge favour and pencil a date in your diary for a visit to Fidelity with friends or a loved one, I promise you will not be disappointed with anything the night will bring you.

We went for the tasting menu, and the only thing we didn’t love was how quickly it arrived. But seriously, WOW!!! Each course was a burst of flavour in your mouth, and it was super worth it. The service was amazing, and we had a great spot to sit and soak up the awesome atmosphere.

Ive been to Fidelity twice now for dinner and cocktails and both times its been fantastic. Staff are really helpful at advising what to order and the food is tasty and interesting, a really good modern Asian tapas menu. Cocktails are excellent. Only reason I’ve given 4 stars is it can be a bit pricy, so more a special occasion option, but very much worth it nonetheless

My 3rd visit to Fidelity :) I like the vibe still. They really hv to do sth about the oil they use for deep frying … also splitting the bill to 2 cannot be a big deal imo but still loved the cocktails & Enoki mushroom 😌 This was my 2nd visit to this bar restaurant. I love the vibe & friendly staff, cool interior, nice food & nicer cocktails. The food is tasty & we tried many of them but some of them are quite greasy so we won’t go for them next time!

The Guinness Brewery, also known as Guinness Storehouse, is a must-visit attraction in Dublin. It offers a comprehensive brewery experience that showcases the story of Ireland's renowned beer, Guinness. Visitors can enjoy tastings, explore informative displays including videos, info plaques, photos and sculptures. The highlight is the opportunity to pour your own pint and savor it at the end of the tour. Additionally, there's a rooftop bar with stunning 360-degree views of Dublin.
Highly recommend the connoisseur experience! Private bar, intimate setting and detailed guide through Guinness’ history and offerings. Morgan was an excellent host! Welcoming, knowledgable and hilarious. We learned how to properly drink a Guinness to experience all the flavors and got to pour our own pint to take up to the gravity bar on the 7th floor for 360 views of Dublin.

The Brewery itself was interesting especially if you are a beer fanatic. It goes in-depth on the history and creation of this famous brand of beer. But really the fourth star was for the self serve restaurant at the top of the museum. For such reasonably priced dishes the food turned out better than my expectations. I thought it was going to be a tourist trap, instead it was a delicious meal.

(Or you can get them to pour it).

We went for the tour. You see a lot about the history of Guinness and the process of beer brewing. At the end of the tour, you get to the tower and you have a view over Dublin (while enjoying a Guinness). Its NOT FREE though. I don't like Guinness or really beer in general, but I am interested how things are made. Restaurant
The Brazen Head, located on Bridge Street in Dublin, is a historic pub dating back to 1198 and is officially the oldest pub in Ireland. Its exterior features exposed stonework and vibrant flowers, while the interior offers a variety of bars and snugs. Despite being close to touristy areas, it maintains a relaxed atmosphere where visitors and locals mingle over pints and traditional Irish dishes like Guinness stew or seafood chowder.
Really enjoyed the bacon and cabbage. Seems like a strange combination but I loved it. We went at the opening time and got a table but they filled up very quickly. The atmosphere is nice because everyone is having their own conversations which makes it feel really lively. Food came out quick enough and the Brazen beer more than occupied me during my short wait. Its not expensive either so id highly recommend visiting here on your trip to Dublin.

This place just oozes "special, but unassuming." I got lucky, wandering in and getting a table. However, it seems like one would generally want reservations here, as they are quite busy, even in the mid-afternoon. Staff was awesome. Food was awesome. Beer was awesome. There are several small spaces/room, some of them quieter than others. Choose your own adventure. :-)
Rip W — Google review
After our Guinness Storehouse tour, we wandered about 12 minutes down the road to The Brazen Head, Ireland’s oldest pub and is was a good choice for lunch. The place oozes history and charm, with its stone walls, wooden beams, and cozy corners. We ordered the Irish stew and fish & chips, and both hit the spot. I’d give the edge to the stew; comforting, hearty, and full of flavor. Liked the mash in the stew. Exactly what you crave after a pint or two of the black stuff. The fish & chips weren’t the best we’ve ever had, but still solid. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt genuinely Irish without being overdone or staged. A must-stop for a classic Dublin pub lunch. It is a bit kitschy and touristy, sure, but that’s part of the fun at the oldest pub in Dublin. 🍀🍻
Corey T — Google review
Apparently the oldest pub established in 1198. They open at 12 and I would recommend you to come on time just as they fill up pretty fast once they open. I had the traditional brazen beef stew and the brown bread(which was basically Soda bread). It used to be called Guinness stew but they seemed to have since changed it. Taste wise, it wasnt mindblowing. It tasted like tomato soup cooked with thyme. Pretty much thats it. The beef portions were generous but most of the beef weren't exactly tender. They had a chew to it. The male staff over the pub counter doesnt seem too friendly either. He doesnt smile and just seem to have a cold efficiency towards his customers. Overall, the stew was just decent and I would recommend coming here especially just to eat the stew. If ticking off the box of coming to the oldest pub in Ireland is your thing, then yes you should.

It was our first time in Dublin and we were looking forward to visiting The Brazen Head. We arrived on a Saturday night, the place was quite packed, but we waited only under 10 minutes until we got seated for food. It was worth every second, the atmosphere was welcoming and felt genuine, the staff was extremely friendly and polite. We had the Buttermilk Fried Crispy Chicken Burger and the Apple Crumbles, both excellent. We'll definitely visit again.

My family of five visited on a weeknight at 7pm. Had a short wait for a table, but nothing of consequence. We sat in at a lovely table on the 3rd floor, in a well decorated room with great atmosphere. Service was prompt and courteous, with our drinks arriving quickly. The menu was what I consider classic fare, but still a good selections. We selected only 3 food items, and all were made well. Special marks for the beef stew. We didn’t stay for drinks but the atmosphere in the drinking areas was pleasant, and seemed well suited for couples & groups. Average cost of an entree was around €20.

The Brazen Head, known as the oldest pub in Ireland, attracts visitors from all over the world — and we were no exception. We came on a Sunday morning, and although the pub only opens at noon, by 11:30 a line had already formed outside. The place is full of atmosphere, with a very interesting and traditional interior that makes you feel the history right away. The food may not be extraordinary, but it was tasty and satisfying. I can only imagine how lively and packed it must get in the evenings. The prices aren’t exactly cheap, but they are still lower than what you’ll usually find in the Temple Bar area. Overall, The Brazen Head is absolutely worth a visit — not just for the food and drinks, but for the experience of sitting in such a historic and atmospheric spot in Dublin.

Myself and two other friends had my birthday dinner there and one of my friend was running late. We felt a little bit rushed from the staff as if they want us to finish our dinner as soon as we can and just leave. One gentleman who was holding the iPad moved some tables around and said to us that we don’t have to rush anymore because they see that one of our friends still hasn’t arrived so we’re okay. So thank you to him for that. The mocktails wasn’t that bad but when it comes to the food wise , the pricing does not match the food portion. I ordered a 10oz steak WHICH COST €46???? it includes chip if you wanted chips on the side which would’ve been €6.50 alone for itself ??????? The steak wasn’t even that big as well…… the chips itself it’s called “ beef drip chips “ sounds fancy right ???? It’s basically just a small portion of chips and they were even dry too…. On the menu it said there will be service charge for table of 6 or more. It was only three of us girls and there was a service charge on our bill ???????? Overall the interior of the restaurant is nice but the pricing and staff wise is not the very best. The only thing they were good was that they were very attentive but attitude was not the very best in some way. Don’t think I’m gonna come back again to be honest

The samosas were a great start, perfectly crunchy on the outside with a flavorful filling that paired really well with the dipping sauce. The pizzas were decent, though a bit underwhelming for the price, simple in toppings and execution. The standout for me was the calzone: generously filled, especially at the center, and absolutely delicious. The combination of duck, caramelized onion, and goat cheese was rich, savory, and well-balanced.

Loved the atmosphere and service. I made a reservation online and they got us right in, you only get the table for 2 hours but it was more than enough time. I got the sirloin with prawns and everything was delicious and the sirloin was cooked exactly as I asked. Along with that I got an old fashion that was utter perfection.

The place has an elegant and spotless atmosphere, and the staff is both courteous and efficient. The food was good, but considering the high prices, it didn’t quite meet my expectations—though that may be partly due to having gone in with high hopes. The dessert stood out in a positive way. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, even if not entirely memorable.

It was good like okay. The staff seating us was kind of I wouldn’t say like snotty but unprofessional? We arrived a bit early for our reservation by 10-20 minutes. We ask if we can be seated and the staff says that we can wait or sit up near the front. It’s just they made the front sound like a bad thing and seemed a bit annoyed that put us off. We were seated and our waiter was nice and so was the atmosphere. My pasta was bland. I understand they aren’t known for their pasta but I still expected it to be good. Unfortunately It wasn’t. It had very little flavor and I found myself not wanting to finish. The dessert was delicious though. The menu was also falling apart. Not what I expect from such an expensive restaurant.

Amazing sea food spot - definitely worth to check out. Some of the best mussels I’ve had. Service is very attentive and helpful. The only complaint I would have - we asked for a shot of Limoncello after dinner (off menu) and we were charged 9€ pp. Which I think is a bit extra given that you are already spending $$$.

Best meal in Dublin, hands down! It was so good that we went back twice in a row. The steak was delicious, and all the sides we tried were great as well. The bone marrow was among the best we’ve ever had. The drinks were also good and consistent; we ordered several, and each one was perfectly mixed. While it is more expensive than other restaurants in the area, I believe it’s totally worth it. The service was excellent, too.

The steak was perfectly seasoned, properly rested, and cooked exactly medium-rare. Every bite was buttery, juicy, and rich without being greasy or heavy. Irish pub

Restaurant
J.R. MAHON'S, nestled in the heart of Dublin near O'Connell Bridge, offers a unique twist on New York-inspired cocktails with an Irish flair. This spot is not your average cocktail bar; it's a place to savor house-brewed beers, delightful drinks, and delicious bites while enjoying live music or catching a game. The vintage-meets-local-pub ambiance creates a welcoming atmosphere for patrons to enjoy signature cocktails like the Raspberry Collins and Espresso Martini.
Really cool place in a district frequented by a lot of tourists. We were lucky and good a table for 6 people upstairs in the evening. Staff was extremely friendly and forthcoming. We had the party platter with beef sliders, chicken, sausages, fries and mozzarella sticks. Rather large even for 6 people and everything on it was quite tasty. Also had a Burger which was basic but good. All in all a good pub and a good place to spend an hour or two

Our 100 person destination wedding reception couldn’t have been at a more magical place in Dublin! Although, the NFL had activations throughout the building, our amazing events contact (Diana Tan) kept our floor untouched with its natural, rich beauty! The service all around was impeccable. The bands and Irish dancers were a hit, and the food was delicious! The chef was kind enough to accommodate our favorites. The next day, my husband and I went back for more!

popped in Friday mid-afternoon for lunch and pints, nice spot. the service was excellent, before we could even say hi how are ya we were seated and I had an excellent pint of Guinness in front of me! I had the club sandwich, thin slices of roast chicken breast, good amount of bacon, and just enough of the tomato and mayo to make it yummy Mrs. had the house salad and declared it was excellent. very comfortable space, lighting was on the dim side, good 80s music overhead, plenty of people eating (but mostly drinking) after the pint of Guinness I tried a couple of pints of the JR Mahon's stout, I like it, strong coffee flavor. tastier than the G but not as tasty as Beamish but I don't think you can get Beamish outside of Cork. food prices were reasonable, pints were E7.50 each which is either good or bad depending on your reference point. we'll go there again if we are in the area, I'd like to thank our server for her professional and friendly service and one of the best smiles I've seen all year Sláinte!

Went here to get Shepherds Pie, they do not serve that but they do serve Guinness Beef Stew with mash and Soda Bread. A good compromise! The vibe was pleasant. Beautiful establishment, decked out with old memorabilia behind glass cabinets. The bar area was lit up with colorful lighting, the experience was a delight for the eyes! Service was great too!! And live music as well.

Absolutely stunning. Between the Irish singers and dancers and great food (along with prices) this bar is a diamond in the rough. Skip the nonsense at Temple Bar and spend a night at an incredible Irish pub. The staff is friendly as can be and will bend over backwards to make your night enjoyable. A must recommend for a night in Dublin.

So sad to witness the decline of this place. Visited two years ago and had such an incredible experience that I couldn't wait to get back. Unfortunately all the things I appreciated the last time through (great service, excellent menu) had gotten lost along the way. Although it was as very slow time, I was seated and given a menu. And then had to go find someone after 20 minutes to place my order. Ten minutes after that, I was told I was given the wrong menu and had to kind of start over. The menu was more limited than previously, and the quality had definitely declined. The fish and chips were soggy when served. The stew had good flavor but was not warm when served. Hopefully there will be some improvements made! The location is excellent, and the interior is very cozy and welcoming.

This is another one of those places where if you have too much to drink, you might not find your way out. Every single inch of this place is covered in absolute, beautiful woodwork, artwork, sculptures, whiskey bottles you name it, place is an absolute feast for your eyeballs. We were on a tour and we took the very top floor, which I think was probably five stories up, maybe, there were 42 of us. They served us all in about five minutes. And the food was five star. We wanted to go back during the day, but there was so much to do there that we never got around to it. So if you’re looking for something that is very memorable and a great place to take pictures this is your spot. You’ll probably never forget it.

McCaffertys at the Barge is a popular landmark destination in Dublin, located near the Grand Canal. It features four separate bars, offering a daytime pub menu and nightly discos. The Barge is known for its vibrant atmosphere, especially during summer when the grassy areas outside become an unofficial party spot. Despite public alcohol consumption being illegal in Ireland, this rule is often overlooked here as crowds gather to socialize and enjoy drinks by the canal.
Really cool spot and great for younger crowds. You can buy your drinks and have them around the canal. Very busy when the weather is nice. Good prices and a classic irish pub inside. Really enjoyed it here and would recommend!

Absolutely beautiful first experience in Dublin. Our server Gabriel is one of the greatest human beings I’ve ever met. The homies loved the vegetable soup and Irish stew. I had one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. We came back here 5 more times since the food and drinks were incredible, splendid live music and the vibes were just it. Wish I had more time to try more of their food.

This is a great place to have pints with friends! Proper outside sitting as well internals. Outside, there is a canal, so during sunny days, it is fantastic to be there. Highly recommend quick pints with friends. Multiple screens for live matches

Great drinks and amazing location with friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended for drinks and hanging out but I ordered a dish here and it didn’t arrive for 40-45 mins, if you’re very hungry PLEASE consider a quick bite somewhere else as you will be waiting for a long time and once you order you can’t leave and you’re totally trapped there so it’s almost like a nightmare. One more thing is that the food was good and there was a lot of vegetables which was awesome but the beef itself didn’t have the same Irish beef flavor as other beef in the area so that was a disappointment but everything was fine.

McCafferty’s at The Barge Dublin, Ireland While McCafferty’s might not be a secret to the locals, it still feels like a hidden gem to visitors who stumble upon it. This spot offers an authentic Irish pub experience that hits all the right notes. The Guinness? Smooth as butter, easily one of the best pints we’ve had in Dublin. The Irish stew was absolutely phenomenal rich, hearty, and packed with flavor. Surprisingly, the wings were also a standout, perfectly cooked with just the right amount of kick. What truly elevated the experience was our server. Handling our large group with ease, he brought energy, personality, and an impressive knowledge of both the menu and the city. His local recommendations helped shape the rest of our Dublin adventure. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, dinner, or just a proper pint, McCafferty’s is a welcoming and lively place to hang out. Highly recommended if you want great food, great beer, and even better service in the heart of Dublin.

The pub/ restaurant is much larger than expected but with quaint smaller areas. Chose it last minute because it is around the corner from our hotel and open on a bank Holiday. Went there for dinner and had one order of fish and chips and one of braised Blade of beef which was very tasty. The only recommendation was to make the chips a little crisper. Otherwise wonderful including the dessert Eton mess which is a must do!

Great experience! Went for my sister’s birth and they were nice to make her a surprise with a delightful dessert with a candle. The ambience is great and the place is beautiful. Not as many options for brunch as I’d like to, but food was tasty.

This is a really good place with good food and a great ambiance. Great options. I tried there Burrata, Roasted Sea Bass, and Vegetarian Pizza, and everything was good. I highly recommend the Sea Bass, and I will come back for it. It was my friends birthday so they got us Chocolate Cake Slice and that cake was really good. The interior of the restaurant is really pretty. They have a glass covered bar, and it looks pretty. Lots of tables. Restaurant is on 1nd floor and they have lift too.

Very nice and clean restaurant. The service was good, but they lacked staff, so it was a little long between server visits. The staff themselves were very friendly and did their best. We arrived early, and we're seated without issues. From then on, there was a constant stream of people arriving.
Doug E — Google review
We had really good expectation about the place; great atmosphere, the waiter was so polite but the food was really bad. Our pizza was stone cold, fries were barely heated and tiramisu was so dry for a tiramisu, probably one of the worst tiramisus and pizzas i have ever eaten outside. The kitchen needs improvement. The only good thing was aperol and coffee about our order. So disappointing.

Really nice interior. Spacious, stylish, and modern but cosy atmosphere. Fast and pleasant staff. We had an Italian on board, and she said the pizza was excellent, and in fairness, that's the reason you got to an Italian place, to have an Italian dish. You don't go because they have a "cauliflower steak"... but since they have it on the menu, I would suggest they put some more effort and imagination into the dish. A piece of boiled cauliflower swimming in oil for 20 quid doesn't really cut it. Everything else was great, we had a lovely evening. Thanks

It is a decent place to hangout. The atmosphere is nice and stylish. The bar is so cool. The indoor is loudly a bit because of the music. The service was okay too maybe it was a busy time therefore no judgements.

Great place for a pint and burger! It was our first time dining in a restaurant in Dublin since March and The Beer Market didn't disappoint. Food was amazing and so was the decor. Price was very reasonable for the portions. I got the chicken burger and I have to say it's one of the best I've had, very flavourful and it wasn't dry! Staff were so friendly and there were socially distanced tables available, we felt safe dining in. Would definitely recommend!

Great location, excellent selection of craft beers. The worst nachos I have ever had.... and that says a lot... I eat plenty. However, if you like stale nachos out of the bag with squeeze cheese spread, you will love it. Go for the beet and board games, not for the food.

Ah, what a lovely place it is! They have amazing, mouthwatering craft beers for a very reasonable price. The staff was just fab! The barmaid was an indescribably kind and helpful young lady, providing the very best of rock, grounge and punk music from the '90's... Would be more than happy to give more stars, if it was possible. We had such a great time there, and surely will come back pretty soon for a few pints ❤️

Great place drinkwise. Food is a bit average. Disappointed with the small burger for €14.50... (you get much more and better at Bunsen Burger) BUT have to withdraw one star as they were very inflexible..I ordered a burger and asked to substitute the fries with halloumi fries, even offered to pay the difference but they said their "system doesn't allow to book it in and it was too expensive to make the halloumi fries" Seriously, you don't want to make extra money and make the customer happy? Doesn't seem like a smart way of running your business..

Overall Pleasant experience, tasty food, nice music. No parking, slightly over priced. Accepted us as walk in but seated in a high table with high chairs. Would recommend booking. Very tiny table, barely accommodated our orders(2 persons) Service was good, Niamca was super helpful. Food could be improved. Oily beryani, thick Rita salad, no sauce with beryani. Desserts options are good.

It’s a sophisticated place, with beautiful decor and very clean. The service is high-quality, but it makes the customer feel a bit uncomfortable due to the excessive politeness, which borders on servility. I felt watched the entire time. The dishes are very well presented, with generous portions served on elegant tableware. I enjoyed everything I ate, especially the yogurt and the dessert, which were delicious. It’s not a cheap restaurant, but it's worth it for the experience.

Somewhat subpar date night. Maybe I made a bad choice, but I ordered one of the signature dishes, Nehari Gosht, and it really was underwhelming. Beef was tender, and they accommodated my request for extra spicy, but it just tasted one dimensional. This place is on the pricier side which is why I'm more disappointed. My wife did enjoy her lamb biryani, but again, i tasted it and didnt think much of it. They also provided complimentary poppadoms which was appreciated. Service was good. I felt the ambient lighting was too dull for my liking. I'd likely not go back here in a hurry.

Think P — Google review
I feel a bit guilty writing this because the staff were wonderful and the service was really top-notch. The atmosphere was also very lovely, so maybe I had my expectations set a bit too high? That said, I was quite surprised by the nearly 30€ charge for a portion of butter chicken that tasted like it had been sweetened with 2-3 heaping tablespoons of sugar right before serving. It felt a little like paying a premium for something that didn’t quite hit the mark. We also tried the Nehari Gosht, which is a signature dish, but it mostly just tasted of mild paprika and butter, with a touch of turmeric thrown in. When the seasoning is that basic, it makes you wonder what the real focus is. I think my main disappointment comes from the price point. If this were just a casual takeout spot, I wouldn't mind so much and simply say it’s geared more towards the European palate and accept it. But with the amount I paid, I guess I expected a bit more depth and authentic flavor.

O'Donoghues Bar, located on Merrion Row in Dublin, is a renowned traditional music pub that has been at the heart of the city's folk and traditional music scene since the 1960s. It gained fame for launching the career of The Dubliners and continues to host nightly live sessions featuring classic and modern interpretations of Irish music. The bar also offers simple en suite bedrooms for visitors.
Great little spot just off the Green! Incredibly cozy and friendly with a very nice drink selection. You can sit outside in the large patio area, or settle in at the bar or the snug style seating in the rear. Enjoy the wall filled with photos of locals and celebrities while you enjoy your drink. There was a great mix of tourists and locals during my visit, and it was recommended by a Dublin native as a nice local place. Oh! O'Donoghues Bar in Dublin is an absolute gem! The staff are incredibly welcoming and genuinely make an effort to ensure everyone has a fantastic experience. The highlight for me was the excellent Guinness – poured perfectly, with that rich, creamy head that every Guinness should have. It truly tastes like an authentic pint of Ireland. Adding to the charm is the fantastic live music. The musicians bring such energy and passion, creating a lively and enjoyable ambiance that perfectly complements the great company, drinks, and setting. O'Donoghues Bar is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to soak up classic Irish hospitality, enjoy top-notch Guinness, and experience some unforgettable live music. Highly recommended!

I stayed here for a few days. The bar was a neat space with live music, very lively. The rooms were clean and charming, the staff was friendly. Given it is a popular bar it is loud with the windows open, but they have excellent sound proofed windows and we had no problem sleeping. One note, you have to check-in at the bar which was no obvious when we arrived.

Not the top music venue in Dublin, but it's a cheap & cheerful spot to see new, local and up & coming artists. Pints still pricey but service is good and it has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The sound and lighting could be better (but is definitely passable) and it could be better kept but if that were the case they wouldn't be hosting the kind of great bands that play here for €15 or so... or a weekend mini-festival for €30.

Drury Buildings is a trendy restaurant and cocktail bar located on Drury Street. The spacious venue has been creatively transformed, offering a variety of seating options with colorful art and exposed brick decor. Known for its Mediterranean-inspired local cuisine, the restaurant also boasts an impressive cocktail menu with mixologists who can craft personalized drinks based on individual preferences. Additionally, the establishment features a beautiful garden that is reopening for brunch, lunch, and dinner service from their Josper charcoal oven seven days a week.
I loved Drury Buildings so much I ended up going back twice in one week! Everything from the food to the service was spot on. The steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The prawns were delicious and perfectly seasoned. But the real surprise? The focaccia with aioli dip—simple but absolutely packed with flavour. A perfect start to the meal. Service was incredible both times—friendly, attentive, and impressively fast despite how busy it was. Drury Buildings is definitely a new favourite. Highly recommend!

Wanted to love this place, but was underwhelmed. My actual server seemed annoyed I was there and only checked on me one time (besides the initial ordering and bill service) even as I saw her check on others. I had to order more through the host who came to check on me throughout the night. Maybe they were understaffed, who knows. The food was mostly good (some of it a bit bland for me), and came very quickly, but the cocktails were the real star! Great atmosphere, I just think the service and food menu could use a little more attention for the portions and prices. I ordered two cocktails (€14.50 each), olives (€6), focaccia (€8), a salad (€12), and the octopus (€15)

Very disappointed with the food here. The focaccia was really bad, no salt was added and it actually tasted stale. The arancini needed more seasoning, as did everything to be honest. Very small portions for the price you pay. The venue itself is lovely but I’d be returning for drinks only.

Cozy atmosphere, very attentive and fast service. Food was okay. Forcaccia was dry, I don’t know how long it had been ready, but it was TOO DRY. Fries are fries, nothing special. Arantines were too moist and I could barely taste the rice, chicken buffalo winds nothing special. I don’t drink alcohol, so I got a Coke Zero and they gave me an alternative, a house brand, I don’t know... AWFUL! Bad taste and it still costs €4.80! I didn’t even have time to complain because the bottle was already open... anyway, terrible!

A nice pub for lunch and a drink (wide variety of beers and ciders!). The food is generous and tasty and the menu has a nice selection including vegetarian options. We had the falafel and beetroot hummus salad and the chicken and chips which were good. The staff are also friendly which is always a plus.

I came here with my wife for a few beers and pub food. The beer selection is top notch with ~25 draft beers from the US and Europe. My wife had a Lagunitas IPA and I tried an IPA made for P. Macs from Trouble Brewing. My wife had the chicken sandwich and I had the chicken wings. Both were good but not great. I would go back for the beer selection and the ambience is extremely cool with the red candles.

Looking for a good atmosphere, music and food experience, then P. Macs is a great venue to enjoy all three in a relaxed environment. Though the place offers also a few board games as well. It’s family friendly on afternoons in general and well situated within a small walking distance from with Tara or Pearse stations.

Delicious and perfectly cooked and constructed burger. Great beer and atmosphere. Even in the busiest of times was able to find a seat at the bar to enjoy this meal. Fries included a delicious aioli. Would certainly recommend!

I guess much could be said about this place. So, let’s do just that. Is it packed by genZ and millennials? It is … and it lends the place a certain inviting vibrance. Is the food better sounding off the menu than on the plate? Well … served lukewarm, yeah. Could probably be something else once they serve their food piping hot. Is it sporting a beer board worth the detour? Well not many places can claim they have something “all that special” but they tend to keep it interesting enough. Final question. Bring it on! Should you pay them a visit? The answer is : Hell Yeah!

Darren and Samantha were exceptional, truly. I've scarcely been ciceroned so well. I appreciate the ability to guide me between the best of the states and those of Ireland and accept my cantilever of "only Irish" and still be very useful. The combination of great staff and a great buyer. All staff were very helpful, but Darren and Samantha were exceptional - and I don't use that term often. Food was very good, to someone from the states. The Chicken salad didn't disappoint a meat eater on meat overload, plenty of beets and pickles to maximise the tasty delight. Double burger if you want to go full American. If you don't start with the halumi fries, you might be wrong. I'd come here again in an instant.

Harry Byrnes Pub, located on the Howth Road in Clontarf, is a historic establishment with over 200 years of history. The pub boasts a spacious beer garden with covered snug areas surrounding the main courtyard, providing ample seating and large screen TVs for sports enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy a diverse menu of food and drinks while taking in the laid-back neighborhood vibe.
Lively, very authentic and big. It feels like it could house 300 people easy. Got great advice about how to move around in Dublin. Owner took time out of his day to talk to us about our questions. Appresciate the singing too :)

Before dinner wrnt for the first time to this large pub. The pint was as good as you'd get anywhere in a warm, comfortable atmosphere with lots of space and sufficient large screens to watch the sport that was on last Sunday. Service was great. Loved the open fire which warmed us up on what was a cold night. There is a food van outside so it's possible to order inside but given we were going to the nearby Indian for dinner, we didn't partake but menu looked good. One of the best pubs I've been to.

Very nice pub, but once arrival do be fooled, your journey has not ended. A very long pub, from one end to the other, at least 3 three quarters of an hour. They do very nice chicken wings out of a little food truck out the front.

Lovely pub and great staff. The size of this pub inside is huge. Plenty of seats and lots of space. Lovely courtyard and a separate smoking area also. Staff were great behind the bar and also they have table service with very helpful staff. There's also a good truck in the car park doing some really nice wings and chicken. Highly recommend if your passing and fancy a drink

Nice pub, good service and atmosphere. For me it was lacking seats that had support for my back because all of them were high stool types with no backs. I prefer a low seat with a supporting back. The pub looks great from the road and has a food truck in the carpark. The bar areas are good but for me not the seating. Sorry Harry!

I really liked this place. Very cool set up with a large outdoor area with a big screen TV. Lots of football matches on. Friendly and welcoming bartender. One thing to note, don't let Google fool you: They do NOT offer food (other than nuts and crisps). They do have a relatively large parking lot and free parking.

Myself and herself stopped in last Saturday afternoon on our way to dinner. We were early so as it was a lovely warm afternoon we said we would have a couple in the outside space. The place was buzzing and the food vans in the car park was doing a great trade. The pub itself although very old is immaculately maintained unlike a few of my recent experiences. It is a large pub with a large covered outdoor area. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Overall we have a very good experience and we will be back soon. Highly recommended 👌

Ashton's Gastro Pub, located in Clonskeagh, Dublin, boasts one of the largest and most stunning beer gardens on the south side. The upgraded outdoor space features live match screenings and a riverside setting. With ample room, a new outdoor bar, heaters, and covered areas for inclement weather, it's an ideal spot for alfresco dining and drinks during the summer. This modern gastropub offers quality fresh food and an extensive selection of craft beers.
Love the new design. I wasn't mad on Ashtons before as it was more like a restaurant. We had a few drinks in Tom's bar. The Guinness is great and one of the best I've had in the bars in the area. We didn't eat but the table beside us had the bacon butties which looked delicious. The sound was on for the football (champions league) which is good as a lot of pubs have annoying music playing while the match is on. There is live music, I believe on the weekend nights. Will definitely be back and could make this my new local bar.

My friends and I were so looking forward to our Sunday lunch at Ashton’s newly renovated Gastro pub . But we were sorely disappointed ! 4 Sunday roasts €34 and 1 monkfish on the bone €36 . Service was friendly but food was terrible. The monkfish yielded 2 mouthfuls and the roast beef dinner was jaw dropping downright awful. Yorkshire puddings were burnt and inedible ( check photos ) ref was so tough and served almost cold . Veg a disgrace and I meagre gravy also was cold after we had to as fir it 3 times and no horseradish sauce . They ran out out ! Empty pepper mill on table and it eventually arrived when we had decided this was not a meal to be consumed any further . Bill including a nice bottle of wine and 2 beers came to €261 . After a bringing all our issues to managers attention she apologized citing teething problems and when we next returned she would look after us with a complimentary drink !!! Out of the place I thought we would never get and guess what ? We certainly will not be back !

Dropped in for a bite to eat one Sunday to see this revamped pub, being a casual customer to the old pub, I was looking forward to checking it out, decided to have some bar food instead of the restaurant, bad mistake my wife had crab on toast, with duck fat fries, I had beacon on sourdough bread & fries, plus I had a pint of beer & my wife a glass of rose, couldn’t believe the price of the wine, actually thought it was a mistake, €10.80 unbelievable, the food was ridiculous a couple of crispy rashers on a two miserable pieces of bread toasted that it, & the crab, well not exactly fresh / fresh , won’t be going back any time soon. The young staff were excellent & courteous & the beer was cold & fresh. The new old scene IRISH STYLE BAR nice if it was down the country, not sure it fits in too well in this neighbourhood,

Liking the new decor and the staff are lovely when they actually approach you. The beer garden is very comfortable at this time of year but for some reason the floor staff will not approach you. If this is a policy, it should be shown somewhere. The bar food menu is very simple and the burgers are delicious but the fries on the side could Be individually counted - apparently small Portions are the policy. Overall, a nice place but still lots of room for improvement
Ken S — Google review
Love the new decor since they reopened recently, particularly Tom's Bar (big shout out to David, massive credit to the place, service review would be 2-star otherwise!) and the downstairs bar and outside seating area. Unfortunately, as of right now, that's all the positives. On my recent visit I found the downstairs staff to be very subpar - while I was quickly asked if I'd like a drink, after 10 minutes of waiting, I decided to go to the bar myself, only to be charged €15(!!) for a glass of wine! When ordering a glass of wine, it's typical to either be offered a wine list or ask what region you'd like etc...not just serve the most expensive! It also, took forever to get a glass of water which, again, I had to get from the bar after ordering twice at the table...all would be easier to forgive if it was busy, but it was very quiet. I also think the menu leaves a bit to be desired. When I first read the menu, I thought it was hand-written - nope, that's the font. The coaster menus are a great idea - short, neat and clear. Of course, that is very subjective, perhaps everyone likes the main menu. Also worth mentioning, I didn't eat, so can't say anything about the food. As of right now, I'd easily recommend Tom's Bar for a pint, but not the downstairs area. Should things change down there, so will this review...here's hoping!

Kodiak in Rathmines is a popular spot for young crowds, offering craft cocktails and a laid-back atmosphere. The place boasts cozy and relaxed vibes with cool design elements, making it perfect for a date night or hanging out with friends. Visitors can enjoy delicious pizzas and drinks while admiring the quirky art and unique architecture of the building. The dim lighting and comfortable seating create a welcoming ambiance, giving off a homely feel that adds to the overall experience.
Beautifully decorated pub with a surprisingly spacious interior. I always thought it looked small from the outside, but it’s huge once you step in. The décor is stunning and creates a great atmosphere. The pizza is very good, and I highly recommend trying their cocktails – they’re excellent. If you’re a smoker like me, you’ll appreciate the outdoor seating area. It’s well set up with heaters everywhere, making it perfect even in winter. The only downside is that it can get very busy, so I’d strongly suggest making a reservation in advance to avoid waiting for a table.

Food is great even there aren’t many options, but I’d say one of the best pizzas I had in Dublin, spicy pepperoni was actually great. I think service is a bit understaffed during weekends, we had to insist several times to get our orders taken and also for the bill. Also, we booked one month in advance and we got sit in a dark corner, not very comfortable to eat.

My friends and I had a lovely evening here, it’s easy to see why this place gets so much hype when the food truly delivers. The pizzas are individual-sized, one is more than enough to satisfy you. We ordered the Margherita, Vegan and Four Spice Formaggi. If you’re as obsessed with cheese as I am, I highly recommend this last one because you can actually taste the hint of honey in it, and it works beautifully with the cheese combo! We had prosecco with our meal, which was delightful😊 The atmosphere? A solid 100/10!! You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors. Bonus points: it’s pet-friendly, so you’ll spot loads of adorable dogs. Shoutout to Ciarán, he was so kind and attentive the whole time😊 best waiter ever!

This is a bright different place. Pizzas are interesting and not the same old same old, served in a box and they disappeared very quickly. I had the Sausage and it was very well balanced. The potato one was yum too. However my cocktail was the real winner..... It was macha and berry and it tasted like more! This place is well worth a visit.

Unreal spot. The spicy margarita, violet spritz and blueberry matchas cocktails are fantastic. The Guinness and drinks they have on rotation are excellent. Staff are lovely and the pizzas are delicious. The garlic mayo dip is a must if you get a pizza - and the focaccia is wonderfully seasoned. Great staff; great bar.

Delaney's Smithfield is a popular pub in the Smithfield area of Dublin, known for its spacious and comfortable beer garden. The back garden is semi-heated and surrounded by plants, creating a pleasant atmosphere for visitors. The pub offers reasonable prices and friendly service, making it a great spot to experience traditional Irish hospitality. Additionally, the venue has been recommended for events such as weddings due to its breezy beer garden vibes.
Such a charming Irish pub! This was actually my first day in Dublin and also where I grabbed my very first pint of Guinness. The bartenders were super friendly, and the whole vibe was laid-back and relaxing—exactly what I needed.
Carrie G — Google review
Surprised to see all the reviews saying they don't accept big groups, because they don't want small groups either. I was having a drink alone in a sunny spot in the beer garden and was told that the table I was at was for 4 people or more. It wasn't particularly busy. Two guys at a table behind me were also told to move, so the three of us decided to sit together but the barman said that wasn't good enough either. It's a real shame, as this used to be a great spot until this particular man joined their team.

Same story as many others here. My friend and I stopped in and ordered a pint without a problem, but when the rest of our group tried to join us after a bit my husband was singled out for "swerving" and was told he was too drunk (was absolutely not). He thought the bartender was joking and then was told to immediately leave the establishment. Lovely little pub otherwise - we would have stayed for hours had this not happened. They lost out on hundreds from our group. Oscar's down the road was great!!
Ashley B — Google review
I wasn’t going to write anything on this review, but then the owner posted a snotty response to my contentless review, so I suppose I have to explain why I gave this pub the worst possible score. My wife and I, when we first began dating, long before we had our two beautiful children, used to come to Delaney’s on a regular basis. We liked it because it was private, the staff knew us, it was close to home, and it had the best beer garden in the area. During Covid, whenever we could (depending on the rules) we would come for a toastie and a few drinks. The money I spent in Delaney’s over the years might not matter much to the owner, but like any pub-goer, I made a conscious choice to support this place because I liked it and felt at home there. Years passed. Maybe by their standards I was never a “regular,” but we felt like we were. I even worked for about a year close by and would drop in from time to time after work. Since then, I’ve emigrated. Sadly, I’ve had to travel back and forth due to my father’s ill health—something many people of my age can probably relate to. On this most recent visit, I crossed the threshold of Delaney’s, made my way through a busy bar to use the toilet, and fully intended to buy a drink afterwards. While in there, the door was knocked and I was told I “owed money.” When I came out and asked the owner what this was about, I was accused of walking out on a bill more than three years ago. One pint and one toastie. €12.60. For that, the owner swore at me and shook his head at me like a disappointed schoolteacher. I lived in the area for over a year after this supposedly happened. My wife and I had been in since. I had been in myself. Over all that time, nothing was ever mentioned. The owner also knew many of my former colleagues and even my employer at the time, and yet never raised it with anyone. If I did walk out on a bill that day, it certainly wasn’t intentional. There were a hundred better ways this issue could have been dealt with—none of which involved swearing at me years later. After the verbal abuse, I left and walked around the corner to another pub. But before I went in, I thought to myself: maybe the owner was right. Maybe I did walk out on that bill by mistake. So I went back and paid it. No thanks. No apology. No acknowledgment. Just the cold sense that this is a pub I, or anyone close to me, will never set foot in again. A shame, as I have fond memories of the place. This is the first time in my life I have left a negative review on a business.
Mark R — Google review
Had the worst experience of any pub I've ever been in. The barman suffers from small angry man syndrome, he was extremely rude to myself and my friend, what makes it worse was that the owner was serving customers next to us. The barman has obviously forgot the meaning of a public house and would need to change his attitude or job, he clearly is not enjoying it.
Paul T — Google review
We got there with some colleagues (around 10 people) and the pub was almost empty. Despite that, a very rude guy came out from the bar and told us we had to leave because they were saving space for their “regulars”. We told them we did not need to sit all together and we could just stand around to get a beer. They asked us to leave which we did. Never felt less welcomed.

Very good range however most of the US beers I’ve bought from them had aged very poorly and tasted nothing like they should have. (Mostly Hazy IPAs). The same style from the UK did not have this issue and were great. For those sold online only, it would be good to see the canning date or a comment on if they were refrigerated during import.

What an awful tacos 🙄 I wasn't hoping for true Mexican food, I was at least hoping for something tex-mex like, but it was tasteless, quite expensive to what you receive. Very disappointing. If you've ever been in Mexico or in any authentic taqueria in Europe you would not like it.

In Little Mexico or 'Ranelagh', as its generally known, there are 3 establishments where you can exchange money for Mexican food. In my opinion, Mexican food shouldn't be overly expensive. It's not in its nature. Having said that, if the food here was as expensive as Parilla or Suertudo, it would still be worth it. Everything on the menu is authentic & delicious, even the burger which was a late addition to appease the hungry Humphrey's patrons. Highly recommended.

As a party of 8 we booked a table for Friday evening at Boxty House following a recommendation from a family friend and we were not disappointed! The food was delicious and the service we received from Mike was out of this world! Mike was so friendly and suggested some great places to visit whilst we were in Dublin. My wife found this place with great reviews so went there and a had a 3 course meal with my wife and daughters. There was a slight delay in being seated even though we had a booking but it was well worth the wait. We shared 3 starters, the calamari, the chowder and the cauliflower bites. They came out pretty quickly and all cooked fantastically well with fresh ingredients,it was the first time one of my daughters had tried the chowder and she was blown away. The mains had a delay which our waiter apologised to us for, my wife and youngest both had the lamb boxty, I had the coddle with my eldest having fish and chips. Both the fish and the coddle were excellent, the lamb boxty was very nice but it was unclear that this was a curry. We finished with sticky toffee pudding, bread pudding and the girls having the brownies. The brownies were a decent portion but were a little dry, the other 2 puddings were excellent. We also had a cocktail each. All in all I highly recommend this place, it is a little pricey but the food is incredibly good. Very busy with a really pleasant buzzy atmosphere. We were also provided a shot each due to the delay with our mains, I have marked service to 4 stars due to the delay even with the compensation, I'm sure this was just a one off though.

Apparently one of the few shops in Dublin that serves Boxty, a type of potato pancake. Prices are definitely rather pricey. But there is a set that you can take for 36 euros that comes with a beer. The beef was pretty standard, it was Irish beef, i believe. The pancake itself was, interesting, slightly chewier than the normal flour pancakes. The sauce was delicious though. Do give it a try! It is a traditional Irish food!
SL W — Google review
Very nice staff and really good food. The only drawback here is that it's pricey and I don't enjoy when restaurants add tipping suggestions on receipts. It is in the middle of the Temple Bar area, so it is touristy, but has been there since long before the Temple Bar hype. I had the Corn Beef Boxty and a Jack Smyth lager. Beer was OK, food was really good. The Boxty dumplings reminded me a lot of gnocchi. Probably not a place I'll go to regularly, but well worth a visit.

We found this restaurant during a food tour and the food was so good we came back a second time for dinner. We really enjoyed the beef and stout stew and the fish and chips. Thalia was very personable and attentive. Ask to be seated in her section when you come.
Christine S — Google review
This place is often mentioned in travel guides as one of the few spots where you can try traditional Irish boxty, so while in Dublin we simply had to give it a go. We started with the boxty sharing plates — the boxty bread was tasty, while the dumplings and fries were interesting to try but not really to my taste. For my main course I had the chicken boxty, which I really enjoyed. My husband tried the traditional Irish corned beef, but it wasn’t quite to his liking, and our son went for the classic fish and chips. The atmosphere is lively and quite noisy, with plenty of people — clearly a very popular spot among tourists. We went on a Saturday at lunchtime and booked a table just about an hour in advance. That was enough to get seated, but we noticed that people without reservations were standing in line outside waiting to get in. Prices felt rather high considering the portion sizes, though that might be expected in the well-known Temple Bar district and given the restaurant’s reputation for serving traditional Irish cuisine. Overall, it’s definitely worth trying, especially if you’re curious about boxty. The place is popular, so I’d recommend reserving a table if you don’t want to queue. I personally love potatoes in every form, so this was a dish I could happily appreciate!

O'Neills Pub & Kitchen is a historic venue located in Dublin, with a layout that includes a rooftop beer garden and antique fittings. The pub has been licensed for over 300 years and is situated near the Temple Bar Cultural Quarter and Trinity College. It prides itself on serving high-quality traditional Irish food and drink in a welcoming atmosphere. The menu features classic dishes such as the full Irish breakfast made with locally sourced ingredients.
We visited the pub on a sunny Sunday around 5:30 PM, and there were still plenty of free tables. Inside, it’s quite dark but very cozy and inviting. We ordered two beers with our food. The Shepherd’s Pie (€18.25) was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Some of the meat was nicely seared and crispy — for me, it was the best Shepherd’s Pie I’ve ever had. The Beef Stew with Guinness (€18.25) had a rich, hearty flavor. As a small side, it came with very tasty green beans and carrots, along with a few potatoes. The stew also had large chunks of carrot and celery, which added a unique and wonderful flavor. It was served with a side of bread and butter. The toilets were clean, and the staff was very kind and friendly. If we’re ever in Dublin again, we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Love the old school pub vibe here. Amazing food! We had cottage pie, potato and leek soup, the number nine pizza, and the spicy nachos. All were delicious and huge portions. You just walk in, find a table, and order food at the bar. We went Tuesday night at 7:30 and found lots of open tables and seating.

This pub was recommended on the internet, and it was good. You order at the bar, and they bring you the food. They have a great variety of drinks and the food was delicious. Would recommend! They also have live music in the evening, but we didn‘t stay for that.

Our first meal in Dublin (lunch) and it was amazing! We had Irish stew, Guinness stew, tomato soup, and cottage pie. All were very tasty. It's self service was rather easy and nice. Order at the bar and get a # to put on the table. Definitely recommend.

I’ve been here a couple of times on my trip to Dublin. The food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is great. Ray and Usain are great guys who made me feel comfortable and welcome the whole time….just don’t try to show them pictures of waterfalls ;)

We came to this place looking for traditional Irish fare and boy o boy did they not disappoint. It’s open tables and order at bar. We ordered the Beef nachos, cottage pie and beef casserole. Everything was amazing with great flavor. If you are in Dublin, do drop by and you would relish the food.
Priya G — Google review
Just your typical trad Irish pub. Traditional Irish stew was basically an unseasoned sopa de res, nothing spectacular. Corned beef Ruben was definitely better of the 2. Perhaps if you’re going at a livelier time & order more drinks than we did it will be better
Holly K — Google review
The service was great. I had a grilled chicken Ceasars salad that had bacon in it which was different but actually good. The other burgers we ordered were also delicious. The atmosphere was fun in the lower bar. If you want a quieter place to talk go to an upper level. There are many floors with steps to use the bathroom so that may be an issue for some. The guy that played the guitar was amazing and had our bunch of girls singing and dancing all night. I would definitely go here again!

The Hairy Lemon is a unique and unconventional pub in Dublin, known for its connection to the film 'The Commitments' and its extensive collection of memorabilia adorning the walls. The pub is named after a legendary Dublin character who was said to have a lemon-shaped expression with some stubble. It has become a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, especially after exploring nearby attractions like St. Stephens Green or Grafton Street.
Awesome restaurant here. Great, fresh food, hot and big portions. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Location was great. Lots and enough seating spaces for everyone. Highly recommended!

Was here on a Tuesday evening and was surprised to see it completely packed with crowd. Finger food was absolutely delicious and the vibes were pretty decent. The pub often hosts traditional Irish music sessions and shows major sporting events—from rugby and GAA to soccer and golf, making it a lively hangout.

The atmosphere is very nice, warm and welcoming! We had the mini Irish breakfast and the eggs Benedict. With any breakfast you have filtered coffee or tea with included. -the Irish breakfast was only ok. There are better Irish breakfast in other pubs to be honest. -the eggs Benedict was AWFUL. The poached eggs were both fully cooked. And the sauce just by looking at the colour and texture you feel disappointed and then disgusted. The sauce was literally too thick, too buttery and too much mayonnaise. This with the combination of coffee it made me sick 💩 I’d still recommend to go there for a drink but definitely not the food.

Lively place. Very Busy. It took a while to get our order in, and our food. But when drinks and dinner did arrive...Quite good. The Guinness Beef Stew w/ puff pastry crust was excellent. (Teeling) Old Fashioneds were solid as well. Multi-level place. Get up and a window seat (overlooking the street) if you can.

I found the Hairy Lemon! 🍋 The most unconventional pub in Dublin. It’s a riot of memorabilia (High Nellies! Wellies! Granny's Kitchen?). 🤯 Plus, scenes from *The Commitments* were filmed here! 🎬 Great Guinness, great food, great chaos. Skip Temple Bar & find the Lemon. 5/5, would get lost in the decor again. 🍻🇮🇪✨

The Shelbourne Hotel – Exceptional Service & Timeless Elegance We recently hosted an event at The Shelbourne Hotel, and it was truly unforgettable. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make everything seamless. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made our gathering a time to remember. The hotel itself is stunning—elegant yet welcoming, with a classic charm that sets the perfect tone for any occasion. One standout moment was breakfast each morning, where a kind gentleman not only greeted me by name but remembered me throughout my stay. That personal touch made all the difference. Staff are welcoming and attentive. Overall memorable and Awesome stay with The Shelbourne!

The Shelbourne is the definition of classic European luxury. From the moment you step inside, it carries that “old money, wealth whispers” vibe—sophisticated, timeless, and effortlessly elegant. The restaurants and bar are fantastic, the accommodations immaculate, and the entire property feels like a true landmark. The location couldn’t be better—everything we wanted to see in Dublin was within walking distance, and the staff were always ready to guide us with warmth and professionalism. This is a hotel that upholds the European five-star standard, which frankly feels closer to seven stars by American comparison. The horseshoe bar is an absolute must - and Michael will craft you a whisky sour that will ruin every pub in town! Such a special add to the experience! If you want the real Dublin luxury experience, this is it.

The Temple Bar Pub is an iconic and legendary venue in the heart of Dublin's Temple Bar area. With a history dating back to the 1300s, it remains a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Known for its vibrant nightlife, live performances, and famous red exterior, it also offers a licensed garden where visitors can enjoy craft beers and a delicious food menu featuring items like oysters and toasties.
The Temple Bar Pub: An Irish Institution (Brace Yourself!) ☘️💚 If you're looking for an authentic, quiet, deep-conversation Irish pub experience, keep walking. If you're looking for pure, unadulterated, tourist-fueled, high-energy Dublin fun, **The Temple Bar Pub** is your pilgrimage site. It's loud, it's packed, and yes, the pints are famously expensive, but you simply *must* go once, just to say you've done it! This place runs on charisma, traditional music, and sheer volume. The music is almost constant, the crowd is global, and the atmosphere is electric. It is a spectacle of Irish culture (as interpreted for a worldwide audience!) and an absolutely brilliant spot for people-watching and soaking up the chaotic charm of the area it is named after. The sheer volume of red paint and old whiskey bottles might make it feel like a themed museum, but the warmth of the traditional music and the sheer joy of the crowd keep it alive. Grab a pricey pint, fight your way to a spot, and let the session wash over you. It's a rite of passage! You'll leave feeling a bit poorer but undeniably happier. It’s a five-star experience in madness, and sometimes, that’s exactly what the soul needs. A huge thanks to the bar staff who manage to pour those pints at lightning speed—you deserve a medal and a quiet retreat! 🫂🇸🇪 5/5 Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🇻🇦🕊✝️🕯🙏🏻

We were shocked to walk in (just before Halloween/Samhain) and see the place already decked out for Christmas. Had a drink to say we did, not as expensive as people say, listened to the live music for a bit then left! Definitely busy but worth it for the atmosphere! Friendly Staff!

Probably the most famous bar in Dublin and also on temple bar street. The atmosphere here is infectious, there is always someone playing some live music and the vibes wrre fantastic. Prices are definitely slightly higher than usual but I think for the environment, it is well worth it to come here at least once.

Tourist trap but I'd go again. I knocked service down cuz a server gave himself a generous tip and I didn't catch it cuz I was having fun and they know it. My 1st server was great. Ya order either by QR code or grab servers as they walk by. Grab a seat anywhere, it doesn't matter if ya know people or not, everyone is family. Be sure to select your own tip, especially if you're American, they'll kinda expect it but ya don't have to. Lesson learned, don't just tap the machine, check it. Food was fine but everything was priced slightly higher than other pubs. Music was loud but good. It's crowded and hard to chat. Overall, good visit, box checked, plenty of other fun pubs. Check your bill closely and no, I wouldn't bring kids to this pub at night, maybe during the early evening.
R J — Google review
During my visit in October, this was one of the most enjoyable bars I went to, beautifully decorated with a Christmas theme. The white-haired singer performing on stage was an incredibly talented artist who took the bar’s atmosphere to another level. When we went, it was absolutely packed we had a hard time getting inside, but that didn’t stop us. While ordering a pint at the bar, I met two Irish guys who bet me that I couldn’t drink my Guinness all the way down to the logo in one go and of course, I couldn’t manage it 😅 The Guinness was excellent though, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet 🍻

The Long Hall is a traditional pub in Dublin that has been serving locals and tourists since 1766. The Victorian building is adorned with red-and-white-striped awnings, oak ceilings, and old-fashioned globe lamps, creating a nostalgic ambiance. During the day, it's an ideal spot for a quiet pint of Guinness, while evenings see an influx of sociable locals and visitors enjoying the warm atmosphere. The interiors are filled with trinkets and oddities that transport patrons to a bygone era.
I gave five stars for food, but by food I mean a couple of pints of Guinness and a packet of salted peanuts. A perfectly pulled Guinness is what I came here for and it's what I got. Great atmosphere and fast, friendly service.

Worth a visit as it does have a very Victorian feel to it. Very nice but standard selection of beers. We only popped in for a Guinness while we waited for our next appointment to come around. Very nice place to people watch and relax. The prices were reasonable for the area.

Over the last few years my wonderful partner has been discovering his Irish roots and reconnecting with his Irish family. On a rainy afternoon in Dublin he was excited to share with me one of Dublins most iconic venues that has played its part in his recent odyssey. Upon entering it’s easy to understand why this historic boozer is a firm favourite with the locals and tourists alike. Obviously Guinness was our ‘tipple of choice’…( Like there’s any other when visiting a Dublin institution such as this! ) However, you have to understand when you order this national beverage in Dublin there are a few rules involved… NEVER drink from your pint until the nectar is settled and 100% black in colour. ALWAYS place your pint on a beer mat. - I got ‘schooled’ twice in a non verbal firm but friendly manner by the barman - Sláinte. The bar is very traditional, brass fittings, long case clocks, gloss paint on the walls and vintage branded paraphernalia returning you to the halcyon days of drinking - without the cigarette smoke. The place filled up quickly with locals, regulars and after work drinkers - a very pleasant time was spent but sadly after a couple of pints of the brilliant ‘black stuff’ we had to make our way back outside into the rain taking advantage of the complimentary umbrellas on offer at the door - which is a super nice touch and very useful. Thank you and see you again soon I hope x

This old library may be better than even the Book of Kells. It’s like you’re walking through a Hollywood movie set. The books are beautiful as is all the beautiful dark woodwork. The old manuscripts are beautiful in the middle is cool. The big spinning globe is cool but is out of place. This is a must see in Dublin.

Mulligan's, an 18th-century pub located on Poolbeg Street near Trinity College in Dublin, is a no-nonsense establishment with a loyal clientele and a lack of pretentiousness. The worst bar I have attended in Dublin. The manager, a rude men with not a good personal hygiene was pointing a lantern into people’s faces, every time he walked by the dance floor. There was enough light (if you knew the place you’ll understand), but he was aiming into people’s eyes and when we complain he said “I am the manager I can get you kicked out”, even though, nothing happened and we were at a private party in one of the big rooms, not the bar itself. Then, he said there were no more cocktails due to “too much order”, when actually 1 bartender was flirting with someone and not paying any attention and the other was just ignoring us. Finally,we order but guess what? After midnight prices rise. That is correct. For 2 gintonic we paid 27€, after the bartender said the bill would be 15€. Is not about the money it’s the scam. So, no. THE WORSE BAR IN THE ISLAND PROBABLY. He runs the places as he runs his personal hygiene and manners. Like he does not care.
