Architectural Buildings
Gloucester Cathedral, an 11th-century building, is a significant historical site with remarkable architecture and the tomb of King Edward II. It showcases various periods of medieval church architecture, particularly Romanesque and Perpendicular styles. The cathedral offers tours and features a coffee shop and gift shop. While most areas are wheelchair accessible with the aid of wheelchair lifts, some sections have narrow entrances.
An impressive building. It's amazing what was built back then with simple means. Compared to today, we can't do anything without electricity, steel, and glass. I highly recommend a visit. The staff are friendly, and the £5 donation is perfectly acceptable. The restrooms could be a bit cleaner, though.
Siouxsie S — Google review
This must be one of the most beautiful Cathedrals that I have visited. You can feel the history as you walk round. There are a number of wonderful chapels throughout. The vaulted ceiling is stunning as well as the stained glass windows. I would recommend going up to the whispering gallery. The views down into the Cathedral really worth it and tovaee the magnificent organ up close.
Karl D — Google review
We really enjoyed visiting Gloucester Cathedral. The construction began in 1089 the Nave was completed in 1130.Over the centuries mor parts were added with different architectures styles. A magnificent building and it's said to be one of the finest ecclesiastical building in the UK.We really enjoyed ambling around the ethereal cloisters(a special treat for Harry Potter fans) and the beautiful stained glass windows
Vera R — Google review
Visiting Gloucester Cathedral was a truly wonderful experience. The architecture is absolutely mind-blowing — it’s incredible to imagine how such a magnificent structure was built during that time period. The cathedral is vast, with many areas to explore, each more impressive than the last. One of the highlights was seeing the filming locations for the Harry Potter movies, which added a special touch to the visit. Overall, it’s a beautiful and historic place that’s definitely worth seeing.
ROBIN J — Google review
What a magnificent building! I can't emphasis how must have this cathedral is. Search for top 10 facts about it, learn about its history and enjoy visiting. If you are a history lover, you need at least three hours (maybe five for a best visit) to completely appreciate the whole visiting experience. Would highly recommend donating as it costs a lot to maintain this fascinating building.
Peyman F — Google review
Poppy Fields by Luxmuralis - Premium Experience Great experience. A premium ticket allowed us fast track entry (it was raining, so this was much appreciated) & a faster entry to the 1st experience. It also allowed access to an upstairs section which had good views, plus a cheeky glass of sparkling wine. The cathedral looked lovely lite up. Great experience overall & a good reminder of the sacrifices made during war & that peace is better than war.
Lesley G — Google review
Gloucester Cathedral is breathtaking from the moment you step inside. The soaring ceilings, fan-vaulted cloisters, and magnificent stained glass fill the space with light and history. A perfect mix of art, faith, and architecture.Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gloucester.
Navodi K — Google review
This is a lovely cathedral that combines solid Norman design with some of the earliest examples of graceful Gothic perpendicular architecture, and demonstrates how cathedral design evolved over the centuries. One will be impressed by how the huge, solid pillars in the nave - still tinged red by fires in the 12th Century - contrast with the delicate, magnificent fan vaulting of the cloisters. The cathedral is the burial place of a king, and the intricately carved tomb of Edward II is splendid. Similarly, the Great East Window, which was the largest of its time when installed, glows with medieval glass. Carved stone ball flowers, a 14th Century decoration feature, abound inside and out. Amazing gargoyles, some of them new replacements for older carvings, decorate exterior eaves. Entry to the cathedral is by donation (£5 suggested) and taking a £8 volunteer-led Highlights Tour is recommended (our guide Mags was excellent). Since Gloucester Cathedral was used as a film location in three Harry Potter movies, it was fun to learn where scenes had been filmed, see the temporary fixes that had to be done to camouflage such things as light switches, and to hear how those familiar with the cathedral were amused with film studio continuity having actors enter one door and then appear on the other side in some completely different location. If driving to Gloucester Cathedral, one will find many pay by phone parking spots on nearby streets. Allow 2 to 2.5 hours for your visit.

A great place to visit as an introduction to Gloucester's long and rich history. Staff are helpful and informative. Exhibitions really well thought out. Appeal to children and adults. Maybe a few new exhibitions wouldn't go amiss, but otherwise lovely museum to visit. Shame there is not more space for extra history, but the space you have got is well filled.
Thomas R — Google review
It's a quaint local museum which is well-maintained and contains quite an interesting array of artifacts. There are exhibitions ranging from natural history items (such as dinosaur teeth and claws) found on the landmass of present-day Gloucester, as well as man-made items from various historical periods. Staff were polite here, and the location of the museum is ideal. I saw people of all ages having fun, and the entire environment is very family-friendly.
Enoch O — Google review
We love going there. It is small but very well presented and plenty to learn. Wr love the regular events. Perfect activity for a rainy day
Capucine S — Google review
Great trip to the museum on Monday. Lots to see on 2 floors, particularly liked the facinating Roman section with reconstructed areas and part of Roman wall. Also interesting were wall pictures of old streets of Gloucester. Has a cafe and toilets. Free admission
AB P — Google review
We went to the Museum of Gloucester today to see what it was all about. Fantastic experience the lady on the front counter was really nice and told Us where to go. We also noticed they had the Star Wars exhibition on as well. So that was fun. If you a fan of star-wars and history then this museum is great fun.
Joe B — Google review
A lovely local museum. It is free to enter and view all the local history. It is very well curated, taking you from the Jurassic period, when Gloucester was under water, through the Roman and medieval periods up to the modern day city. They also have exhibitions for which there is a £4.95 charge. There was plenty to see for free - though it would be worth paying if you didn't remember life in the 80s too well. There is a self service cafe and a small museum shop.
Judy H — Google review
Fascinating museum full of the history of Gloucester and surrounding areas. From the time of prehistoric times up to modern. If you are able, take a tour or two, underneath the city to the time of the Romans and medieval times. It’s amazing what you walk over every day that predates our times, without even realising. The guide is fabulous, really knowledgeable and takes the time to explain the history and answer questions.

Step into the enchanting world of Beatrix Potter at The House Of The Tailor Of Gloucester, a charming shop and museum located in an old-world setting near Gloucester Cathedral. This quaint establishment offers a range of Beatrix Potter books, gifts, and collectibles that will surely delight fans of her timeless tales. Visitors can explore the small museum upstairs and learn about the history behind The Tailor of Gloucester, one of Potter's beloved characters.
fabulous place to visit. We popped in yesterday whilst in Gloucester. I would recommend visiting.
Jacqueline P — Google review
Very hard to pass up this authentic Gloucester experience. Read the books when I was younger, wouldn't say I'm a fan, but this little store is an amazing museum with plenty of affordable memorabilia to indulge in
Darren W — Google review
This was a very cute house/gift shop. Obviously for Beatrix Potter fans or any children, it has a nice cosy feeling. Especially when you go to the back room on ground floor, it looks like a living room of a cottage, as there is a TV and some pint-sized chairs and (faux) fireplace. They made it look very early 1900s. The whole shop, including upstairs, has little artefacts, notebooks and miscellaneous items that you can buy as a gift. On the stairs is some information on the wall about Beatrix Potter's connection to Gloucester, and upstairs has some information on what happened to the real 'Tailor of Gloucester'. Some historical photos and newspaper clippings are also displayed there. So this place seems sort of like a museum / gift shop at the same time.
WOSP P — Google review
This is a small shop with a free museum inside. It is located upstairs and it’s quite small but adorable. So many things about Peter Rabbit and other books of Beatrix Potter. Also the people who work there are friendly and very nice.
Melanie M — Google review

Such a cute and quaint little museum and gift shop, perfect for any Beatrix Potter lover! Very lovey and well informed ladies running the place.

Such a lovely place dedicated to Beatrix Potter, the author of The Tales of Peter Rabbit books. Located in a narrow street, this hidden jem is full of history. Small shop full of Peter Rabbit items, with cute little details such as knitted mise hidden under tea cups. There is also a TV where kids can sit and watch the animation. On the second floor there is a little museum. The lady at the shop was very friendly.

Lovely place for a walk for a scenic walk and beautiful view from top of summit . It was a pleasure seeing Gloucester city from the top and what a lovely weather to enjoy . Kids really had a great time. No doubt reaching top is a little bit tiring but reaching at summit will make all your tiredness a blissful experience 🤗
NABILA M — Google review
Wow... The experience here is like no other. The walk around the hill to the summit which by the way is breathtaking is worth it. The view is best experienced in person. If you are not afraid of heights and you want to get to see the whole town then you should go to the summit. The park itself is well maintained with ample free parking spaces with beautiful spots for BBQS and family and friends hangouts. The kids are not left out with slides and swings. Well-done Gloucester county for this awesome experience PS... To access the car park and toilets ensure you come into the park from the Reservoir road

Shopping mall
Gloucester Quays is a trendy indoor shopping mall that offers a wide range of high-street and designer brands at discounted prices. With over 50 shops, it's a paradise for shopaholics looking for clothing, homeware, and more. After shopping, visitors can dine at various restaurants such as Cote Brasserie or Coal Grill and Bar.
Stopped by yesterday - beautiful day for a wander around and first time exploring - it's clean tidy & peaceful with some fab eating and drinking spots. Explored a little of the shops - Cornish Bakery was fab! Pretty certain we'll return!
Jessie S — Google review
Gloucester Quays is a fantastic place to shop, eat, and spend a day out. The range of stores is great, with brands like Next, M&S Outlet, and Adidas, plus plenty of homeware and gift shops too. One thing I really like is the flooring in the shopping center, it gives the place a stylish and modern feel. We used the parking facilities to visit Anatolian Palace, and it was a smooth experience. The car park is spacious, very safe, and has plenty of spaces. The parking prices are reasonable, which is always a plus. A great addition is the car cleaning service, really handy if you want your car looking fresh while you shop. The toilets are always clean, which is a big plus. My only suggestion would be to introduce a parking discount or even free parking when you spend a certain amount in the shopping center. For example, if you spend £200 or more, you could take your receipts to the customer service desk, and the receptionist could give you a voucher for free parking. It would be a great way to reward shoppers and encourage people to spend more time here. Overall, Gloucester Quays is a well-maintained, enjoyable place to visit, and I’d definitely recommend it.
Ayyub C — Google review
There is something for ANYONE here from food, fun, entertainment, drinks, shopping and activities. Family or just quick drinks with your mates. I always have a great time here whether it's for work or play. Lots of parking available too. Some of the outlets aren't as cheap as they could be, but there are a lot of choices available. All by the waterfront. Watch out for the Gulls ☺️
Danuta M — Google review
Lots of food places, a treat market, nice shopping centre, where we can by everything . The Cathedral is beautiful, it's a shame we arrived just as it was closing and we weren't able to go in. I'll definitely be back in Gloucester. I loved it. I find all I need it. Really enjoy 😉
Mfátima M — Google review
A good mix of shops and eateries. Seating both inside and out. Good parking outside and inside. Quays is set within Gloucester’s historic dock area. Well worth a visit
Gary L — Google review
Gloucester Quays offers a great mix of outlet shopping, dining, and historic charm. The variety of stores provides good deals, and the waterfront setting adds to the experience. Restaurants and cafes are plentiful, making it a nice spot for a day out. Some areas could be better maintained, and it can get busy on weekends, but overall, it’s a pleasant and worthwhile visit.
Enoch O — Google review
Good for parking if you park outside opposite Dock. Expensive if you park for more than 5/6hours in centre parking! Great selection of shops few cafes etc. Outside main restaurants, bars . Market on Sunday, nice area to walk around ,sit have a coffee and watch the world go by.
Ann W — Google review
Lovely atmosphere, loads of interesting and impressive places to eat, catering for all possible palates and requirements. Really interesting boat-building and docking historical stuff to see and, of course, a lovely canal through the middle of the quays which gives the place a holiday feel. Nice indoor shopping centre, too, with loads of easy, accessible parking. This was a first visit - loved it! Definitely hope to go back, perhaps in the Spring or Summer.

Nature & Parks
Barnwood Park and Arboretum is a picturesque natural area featuring formal gardens, walking paths, a pond, and seasonal grazing farm animals. It's a notable stop on the 'Of Earth and Sky' cycle routes, offering a tree trail, beautifully carved tree trunk, and diverse wildlife. The park occupies the former Barnwood House Hospital grounds and boasts mature trees like Giant Redwoods, Dawn Redwoods, Indian Bean Trees, Cedars, and Pines.
Beautiful tranquility, very calm and peaceful. Clean and lots of character. Less people at times so it's good for a long walk to clear one's head.
Ovindhi P — Google review
Barnwood Park is an interesting small green space in urban Gloucester. The park is also described as an arboretum as there are many large trees here, including oaks, coniferous giants and more. One can walk about inside the place. It is accessible to us from different ends. Unfortunately, apart from walking, there is little else one can do. No facilities, no bins, no water taps, no children’s area. I did take some photos.
Taher K — Google review
A nice place for a quick ramble
David J — Google review
Lovely little free place to take kids for a walk. Bonus round was to walk through an area with very friendly cows. Went on the hunt to find a monkey puzzle tree.
Stephen B — Google review
Gorgeous! We would definitely visit again. My son was particularly taken with the small bridges on the pond, the butterfly ‘wild’ areas and the (three) Dexter Cattle 🐄 😂. They seem to have a bit of a rat problem at the moment. Although , once again, my son was very happy to watch the rats dart from bush to bush from a distance.
Gabrielle — Google review
One of my favorite places, quiet and such a fun place, grandchildren absolutely love it. Can walk run and play Superb Parking is easy What's not to love Beautifully looked after, even have sheep on occasions
Chrissy P — Google review
Well thought area for all ages (and dogs). The old remnants of the Barnwood House estate have been transformed into a well managed public space. You can walk the entire park and arboretum in about half an hour but ignore it’s size as it’s more a place to dawdle and take in the variety of the plants and features. The beautifully carved benches are fascinating too. Try and find the piano. The ducks (actually Northern Mallards) are regular visitors to Wotton Brook that flows through here. Look out for the Coots (white beaks) and Moor Hens (red beaks) too. The recent addition of a deliberately constructed balancing pond adds to the charm of the area. That part of the park is a real sun trap with no cooling breeze. Being low ground it also requires wellies when wet. The old estate chapel, now deconsecrated, houses a gym so unfortunately the interior can’t be viewed but the outside is in good nick and quite photogenic. Parking can be a challenge as the gym members use the spaces adjacent to the park in Church Lane. There’s a lay-by area across the road next to the church with free, unrestricted parking. It gets full at school drop off and pick up times due to the nearby secondary school and of course on Sundays.
Glevum O — Google review
Nice family walk, play and picnic. Labeled trees to help educate children. Lovely hidden beauty in built up area. Animals to see. Have used it quite often. Friendly gym goes inside church.

Visitors can also enjoy a picnic on the premises and book guided tours and activities in advance. Such a brilliant and educational little farm in the middle of a small space! Free entry and a little space for parking. If you go after breakfast at weekends you can tour this little farm with your kids. More cities should have places like this. Brilliant and enjoyable for an hour as it is small. Good range of animals and I love the horse!

Llanthony Secunda Priory, located in Gloucester, is the remains of a significant Augustinian priory founded in 1136. The site spans five acres and holds historical significance as it was responsible for creating a renowned medieval English book collection. This scheduled monument and listed building offer visitors the chance to explore medieval ruins and some of the oldest Tudor brickwork in Gloucestershire.
Booking our wedding venue with Charlie & the team at Llanthony Secunda Priory was one of the first and best things we did for our wedding! all of the team were amazing on the day and the support throughout the year prior answering our questions and providing us with some excellent info to make our dream day a reality. Could not recommend Llanthony enough for a fantastic wedding venue. The venue itself is tucked away in a lovely part of Gloucester all our guests were blown away with how lovely and spacious it was for a central city location. Amazing team, amazing venue, look no further!
Charlie W — Google review
We stayed in a nearby hotel and came to walk around to find out more about the priory, assuming that we would spend not more than 10 min there. It happened that we bumped into Jay, who works there. We've learned so much from him about the priory, the history, the life of monks, etc, etc. It was a great experience. We were so-so lucky meeting him. Our advice for other visitors - try to book a guided tour, otherwise it will be just another building, religious place but the real story of it is fascinating! If we have a wedding in mind, we will certainly book it at this place.
Elena B — Google review
We booked the Priory for our wedding reception and from the first email through to the big day, Charlie was fantastic. The site is beautiful and really suited our autumn theme. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding venue!

Very peaceful place even though it's next to a main road. Stunning trees especially the magnificent Oak tree. Fragrant lavender dominates the borders and there are plenty of secluded areas for peaceful meditation or mindfulness.
Fiona B — Google review
Lovely little park near the centre of town with some nice historic features with good information boards.
Jason — Google review
I am unreliability informed that the army uses Hillfield Gardens as a base to test the latest in camouflage gear. Check out the pictures, below. There are over four hundred troops and troopesses on view if you look carefully. There's actually a motorcycle 🏍 display team, seven riders, with six riders on top of them, and five, four, three, two, and one on top. You can just about see the exhaust from the middle bike, caused by a faulty engine. The other bikes and all twenty-eight soldiers are completely invisible. Can you see the three tanks parked side by side? No, neither can I. Remarkable work by the armed forces, who will soon be registering to enter into the world hide and seek competition. Looks like we have a winner!

A peaceful haven in the city, a lovely place to sit on a sunny day
Steve G — Google review
Is okay. Has improved over the years I guess
N R — Google review
Interesting gardens with some historic buildings. Some areas are a bit run down.
Andrew W — Google review
loved this place. very chilled out area. plenty of bench seats and bins. not very big but secluded. the monuments in the grounds all come from several different locations in or around Gloucester and have been moved multiple times with long histories, (600 yrs or so). the trees are magnificent and many different types. will spend more time here on sunny days as shade is abundant. there are a few homeless people and they do occupy the monuments so be aware of their privacy, as respect is a two way street.

Nature preserve
Alney Island Nature Reserve is a tranquil sanctuary for leisurely strolls, cycling, and birdwatching amidst picturesque grasslands and riverside views. Just a short drive from Gloucester lies the impressive Wallsworth Hall, home to an extensive collection of nature-inspired art featuring works by renowned British painters and illustrators. Visitors can immerse themselves in workshops such as plant pot creation and bird feeder crafting, offering engaging activities for various age groups.
Raw countryside and wetlands right next to city centre. So lucky to have this green space here. Love watching the Severn bore here where the river divides. Though the council are planning 300 more houses on the flood plain. Sounds like a recipe for disaster after 2007 floods. Existing home owners will suffer consequences.
Amanda T — Google review
Great inner-city reserve. I have walked the trail (and it’s many variations) a few times now. My eldest (11) and I are intending to do a nice walk across Alney Island to Over, where we shall reward ourselves with a carvery! My youngest (3) and I regularly walk the shortest circular route (approx. 1 mile). It was a bit under-loved on our last visit, with graffiti on a couple of signs and litter on the last stretch of path. However, the beauty of Alney Island is that it is a nature reserve in the heart of a city. Sadly, whilst not right, these things tend to happen more regularly in cities than in rural areas. There were no cows on our recent travels (Much to my son’s disappointment. Although walkers should anticipate there being so) and we parked at Castle Meads Car Park (although the walk can be accessed from numerous points).
Gabrielle — Google review
I disagree with most comments about this place. It absolutely is NOT a beautiful place. It's an okay walk, it could be beautiful with a little tlc. There are some lovely spots as you walk through this nature reserve but you can't see them because of the overgrowth. There must be thousands of people living in Gloucester who'd be more than happy to volunteer to help maintain this place. Such a waste of a space with great potential and benefit to the local community.
Martin — Google review
Nice bit of countryside in the city, but more interpretation boards would be good, and rubbish bins, unless i missed them. Some footpaths were overgrown. maily with the very invasive water balsam, which if not dealt with, will in no time at all completely take over the whole of the reserve.
Jane G — Google review
Bit more rundown since my last visit. Loads of rubbish everywhere and not a pleasant walk to do on your own. Any place that has more activity at 3am than 12pm, well, it speaks for itself.
Natasha — Google review
I’m sorry but is not a nice place to walk. It’s completely overgrown, homeless people camped up in tents all along the field, graffiti everywhere. It’s just not pleasant, don’t waste your time
Megan J — Google review
Was hoping for some clear dark skies but unfortunately the rugby club and another buildings lights ruined my night of stargazing. Would be nice if there was a small space where there are no lights. Quite scary at 2am very dark very cold and lots of wildlife.

If you're looking for a cozy spot to unwind and explore the world of literature, look no further than Gloucester Library - inc. Music & Performing Arts. This welcoming haven not only offers an extensive collection of books but also provides a serene environment perfect for reading or reflection. The friendly staff are always eager to assist, whether you need help with membership or guidance on finding specific genres like poetry.
Good range of books in both fiction (downstairs) and nonfiction (upstairs), nice quiet library in a beautiful building. The staff are always happy to help.

Popped into Gloucester Library on Wednesday, to enquire about a Bus Pass. (Reached that Age) At the reception a member of staff said I could do it right away, which was brilliant, I would be the first person to use their new website. At that point, three only members of Staff came over to watch, as they wanted to learn how to use the new website. I could go on, but all the Staff, were very friendly & helpful great service.
Philip C — Google review
Yesterday was my first time at the library and the staff here were very welcoming and helpful. I had walked around the city centre a bit and needed a quiet environment to read some poetry and reflect. The librarian on the ground floor was very efficient with completing the physical membership process and pointed me in the right direction of the poetry collection such that I didn’t have trouble with finding what I was after. I was also particularly pleased and grateful for a librarian who I met on the first floor as when I had walked up to her to ask for help with locating the bathroom, she not only showed me the bathroom but went above and beyond to ensure/confirm that it was in a good state for me to use - I was and still am very thankful for this given my condition (heavily pregnant) and also because the first floor was a little busy with people who came to read/print/use the PCs. I also know that this is most likely not part of her job description, so this means a lot. Thank you very much. I appreciate the warmth and support. By the way, the picture is an excerpt from the first book I read. It’s called “Poems that make grown women cry”.
Temi A — Google review
It's clear that the staff here really like it. They're always happy and so knowledgeable and helpful. I feel so welcome here. There's absolutely nothing better than taking a break with a book in a safe and welcoming environment. They also allow you to use their PCs for free which is a valuable service. I don't know what we'd do without our library!
Gnot ( — Google review
This is an organised and we'll run library. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I got my printing done using the library user PCs. They have a good selection of eco related "Greener Together" books. Recommended!

Great staff and great internet access as we used our lap top. Beautiful building offering a wide range of clubs for readers and students and music enthusiasts. Thank you to all the staff for your help and friendliness.
Caroline W — Google review
I went to this library as I needed to print off and scan some important documents. I was helped by a lovely lady called Elaine, who ai believe went above and beyond to help me with the scanning. It was fairly busy with regular members, but she still made it her duty to help me. Very efficient, professional and pleasant experience. I was greeted with a warm smile.

Visited the library to attend appointment in the Visa department. Greeted by a lady and young man at the door. All covid rules applied but this staff were superb, they couldnt have been more attentive and remain professional. It was worth travelling 60 miles for this appointment.

Armscroft Park is a well-maintained and spacious park that offers plenty of room for dogs to run and play. It features an outdoor gym, a secure hard court for basketball or football, and even has a Pokemon go gym by the basketball court. The park is popular among dog owners who are responsible and friendly, with dog poo bins available for convenience. Additionally, it provides ample space for children to play and explore while also offering picnic areas.
Lots of green space, trees and trails! Play parks on both ends of the green. Great place to take the kids for a picnic and/or run around.

2 lovely little parks either end of a great big field. My little girl loved it. Doesn't seem to drain very well tho. Was extremely soggy in places so be warned haha.
J H — Google review
We finally appreciate having this place nearby, during the endless lockdown. It's huge, it's mostly empty, and it has lots of wild secret corners to explore. Great on foot or by bike, it's been our salvation for these past few months!

A lovely time out. It's my place to run.
Bozga V — Google review
It is a good nice well taken care of Park, big enough to allow your dogs to have a good run and play Frisbee. There is no car park for the purpose so I recommend to walk around and know the area, so you can park close enough, as there will be some residencial areas close with available places to park.
R L — Google review
Walk the dogs here pretty much every day with the odd exception. Love the stream running through it and there's plenty of room to let the dogs off their leashes. Dog poo bins available and has a Pokemon go gym by the basketball court too!

Gloucester Park is a spacious and flat park with plenty of oak and weeping willow trees lining the pathways. It features a children's play area, bird aviary, bandstand, and regular funfair. The park also hosts various activities such as boot camps, tai chi, and yoga. Additionally, there are sports pitches for different age groups to enjoy. Plenty of room for football. There is a area where looks like outdoor gym. Across the road is the skate park which is always busy. Do you enjoy walking around the park. There is different entrances sorry can access from any direction. Also next to the cricket club..

Great little Victorian park with plenty of room for children and adults to play. There's a children's fenced playground, outdoor gym, walks, Victorian statues and buildings. There is also an aviary with budgies, cockatels, finches etc. A fun run is held on Saturday mornings along with a fairground in the summer. It's also used for various outdoor events.

I did park and didnt pay where it said i should, because i thought Id be quick, so got a PCN. As I came back I passed the Traffic Wardens strolling along getting number plates so I knew the outcome. You tax what you want less of, so I will comply and remove my economic value, friends and company outings as much as possible from Gloucester. I will help others to avoid the area. PCN will be the last money I spend in Gloucester.

Explore the historic Gloucester Docks and Gloucester Quays Outlet, where you can enjoy shopping, dining, a cinema, and immerse yourself in local history. Take a boat ride along the 2.5-mile route to appreciate the original Docklands of Gloucester and witness the famous little ships with their Dunkirk 1940 plaque. Visit the excellent museum nearby for an enriching experience.
We had a great day at this excellent museum, lovely staff too.. We took the boat ride which always about 2.5 miles return.. well worth the effort on one of the famous little ships which was displaying its Dunkirk 1940 plaque.. Saintbridge Balancing Pond is a delightful escape nestled between residential areas, just a couple of miles from Gloucester City center. This serene nature reserve offers the perfect backdrop for leisurely walks with your furry friend or simply enjoying the crisp autumn air while feeding ducks. As you stroll along the winding footpaths that encircle the pond, keep your eyes peeled for an array of local wildlife, including herons, egrets, and even kingfishers if you're lucky!
We do love having a nice Sunday walk here with friends and to see the birds. The swans are amazing

This can be a great area to see different species of birds. At various times there are Swans, Herons, Cormorant and Egrit. There's even a Kingfisher if you're lucky enough to spot him!

Very peaceful and beautiful place for walks to have a mindfulness and some relaxing time. Many ducks and swans to admire nature close encounter with nature kids really enjoyed.
NABILA M — Google review
A peaceful retreat and nature reserve that hides away between two housing areas about 2 miles from Gloucester City centre. Take a stroll along the footpaths that border the balancing ponds and keep a keen lookout for a variety of birds, flowers and other wildlife. Perhaps you might spot a heron, an egret or even a kingfisher if you are quiet and patient. Usually you will see ducks and some swans. The path leads past the ponds and alongside the small river twyver where there are many allotments, then back round to the other side of the ponds. Many flora can be seen here as the sun shines through the trees.
Neil T — Google review
Lovely to walk around hearing birds singing and then a lovely open area to sea a number of ducks a swan. Lovely place!
Leon H — Google review
A lovely area to walk around to see different types of wildlife. My son and I particularly like the heron that is in residence! If you’re not local, parking can be an issue. I recommend parking further out and walking in. Don’t be dismayed if approaching from Saintbridge Surgery side (as I did on my first visit), the path continues onwards and around the entire pond. The balancing pond is not just comprised of the wooded area.
Gabrielle — Google review
It's only a small area but packed with wildlife that live in and around the pond There are benches but no tables or childrens play areas There is a meadow field nearby which is popular The whole area is good for families and dog walkers.
