Went into here for first time and is a lovely interesting building. It was a school originally. Because so much history behind it I've taken photos of the history boards and plaques I also think Google would be good. They do also hold events in here.. Situated opposite the Robert Raikes who is also part of the history.. Situated in Southgate Street Gloucester

Discovered this open to visit just by chance and what a shrine it is. It’s history goes all the way back to Roman times, where recent archaeological digs discovered two pieces of carved Roman stone from the 1st or 2nd century that seems to denote the area was a temple possibly to Jupiter. Later, St Mary de Crypt (a Grade I listed building) and regarded as one of Gloucester’s most important medieval churches, is of Norman origin was rebuilt and added many times over the centuries even being used as a tavern and a munitions store. It’s 12th century history still remains in the lamb and flag over the front entrance Once inside you see the beautiful stained glass windows and the remains of wall paintings that depict Henry VIII and his wife. A volunteer that was passing as we were trying to work out the paintings gave us a very in-depth breakdown. Lovely woman and very knowledgeable. Looking forward to returning for another visit in the future to visit the bell tower and schoolhouse.

Delightful discovery. Church has many fascinating little treasures, scope for school visits etc, wonderful shop with locally made wood and glass gifts etc, superb coffee in the crypt school next door

Fantastic,beautiful church and venue! We had a successful Christmas FUNtastic Fair at Discover De Crypt/St Mary De Crypt last Saturday. We will have another one there on Saturday, the 19th November 2022, 10 am to 3 pm. All our stallholders are looking forward to it! I highly recommend St Mary De Crypt Church as a venue, it’s at the heart of Gloucester town centre.

Beautiful little church with a great variety of history and activities. It is clearly a well cared for building and is really accommodating to visitors. If you're in Gloucester, I recommend giving it a visit.

A very imposing church built in the traditional style, although dating from the early 1930s. It is impressive inside, with tall pillars supporting the roof. It has a fully functioning pipe organ. Inside is like a mini cathedral.

This must be one of the most beautiful Cathedrals that I have visited. You can feel the history as you walk round. There are a number of wonderful chapels throughout. The vaulted ceiling is stunning as well as the stained glass windows. I would recommend going up to the whispering gallery. The views down into the Cathedral really worth it and tovaee the magnificent organ up close.

We really enjoyed visiting Gloucester Cathedral.The construction began in 1089 the Nave was completed in 1130.Over the centuries mor parts were added with different architectures styles. A magnificent building and it's said to be one of the finest ecclesiastical building in the UK.We really enjoyed ambling around the ethereal cloisters(a special treat for Harry Potter fans) and the beautiful stained glass windows

Visiting Gloucester Cathedral was a truly wonderful experience. The architecture is absolutely mind-blowing — it’s incredible to imagine how such a magnificent structure was built during that time period. The cathedral is vast, with many areas to explore, each more impressive than the last. One of the highlights was seeing the filming locations for the Harry Potter movies, which added a special touch to the visit. Overall, it’s a beautiful and historic place that’s definitely worth seeing.

What a magnificent building! I can't emphasis how must have this cathedral is. Search for top 10 facts about it, learn about its history and enjoy visiting. If you are a history lover, you need at least three hours (maybe five for a best visit) to completely appreciate the whole visiting experience. Would highly recommend donating as it costs a lot to maintain this fascinating building.

Poppy Fields by Luxmuralis - Premium Experience Great experience. A premium ticket allowed us fast track entry (it was raining, so this was much appreciated) & a faster entry to the 1st experience. It also allowed access to an upstairs section which had good views, plus a cheeky glass of sparkling wine. The cathedral looked lovely lite up. Great experience overall & a good reminder of the sacrifices made during war & that peace is better than war.

Gloucester Cathedral is breathtaking from the moment you step inside. The soaring ceilings, fan-vaulted cloisters, and magnificent stained glass fill the space with light and history. A perfect mix of art, faith, and architecture.Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gloucester.

This is a lovely cathedral that combines solid Norman design with some of the earliest examples of graceful Gothic perpendicular architecture, and demonstrates how cathedral design evolved over the centuries. One will be impressed by how the huge, solid pillars in the nave - still tinged red by fires in the 12th Century - contrast with the delicate, magnificent fan vaulting of the cloisters. The cathedral is the burial place of a king, and the intricately carved tomb of Edward II is splendid. Similarly, the Great East Window, which was the largest of its time when installed, glows with medieval glass. Carved stone ball flowers, a 14th Century decoration feature, abound inside and out. Amazing gargoyles, some of them new replacements for older carvings, decorate exterior eaves. Entry to the cathedral is by donation (£5 suggested) and taking a £8 volunteer-led Highlights Tour is recommended (our guide Mags was excellent). Since Gloucester Cathedral was used as a film location in three Harry Potter movies, it was fun to learn where scenes had been filmed, see the temporary fixes that had to be done to camouflage such things as light switches, and to hear how those familiar with the cathedral were amused with film studio continuity having actors enter one door and then appear on the other side in some completely different location. If driving to Gloucester Cathedral, one will find many pay by phone parking spots on nearby streets. Allow 2 to 2.5 hours for your visit.

This is a lovely old church worth a visit.

You've got to be really careful when entering a Catholic church. You never know if a priest is hiding behind one of the pillars, waiting to jump out and prod you with a big pointy stick. It's such a shame that grand buildings like this weren't built for calling bingo or teaching people the steps of the hokey cokey, or anything but honouring the invisible one who isn't there, or anywhere else. Meanwhile just marvel at the stained stone, the glass columns and all the other stuff built for people to marvel at. Ooooooo!

Beautiful church - trad-style architecture but still obviously modern; perfect harmony of those contrasts here makes this building even nicer. Statues and stations of the cross carved in very lifelike and elegant (but not in least pretentious) manner in a way non-Catholic Christians - and atheists - could still appreciate Most importantly: very warm and spiritually uplifting vibe during Masses here. Friendly congregation and priest too!

Superb.. Divine ... it's a great blessing that God gave a chance to attend a holy mass in this beautiful church. What an amazing interior, well maintained! Fr.Liam parish priest is a very nice person. Following all government rules the stewards were so kind even we didn't booked for the Sunday mass they gave us a seat near to the altar. The altar itself is a big wow!.. Thank you Jesus once again .

It is a very good and spacious place to pray. It is accompanied with benches where groups of 8 could sit, However if there is little children it could 9.The tabernacle is placed north east from the entrance. The groto of St. Mary :it blesss the whole church as the is the cross to the left and a statue of Joseph to the right. The wine and bread are consecrated by the priest. Fr. Liam has been in charge of the church for more than 10 years.It has been a great honour to attend the divinic grace of jesus christ. Additionally the is painted glasses which also represent s the wars and Jesus's life, death, resurrection.

My visit to Allsaints at Gloucester Quays was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The customer service was top-notch, with friendly and helpful staff who clearly have a genuine desire to assist. A special mention to Ash for being so patient and helpful! It was noticeable that all the staff were both happy and well-informed. The store is conveniently located in the Gloucester Quays Retail Outlet, making it easily accessible with ample parking and excellent facilities. The store itself is spacious, well-laid out, and clean, offering a wide range of products. The availability of fitting rooms and the excellent staff make the whole shopping experience seamless. Highly recommend a visit – it's definitely a standout store at the Quays.

I went into this store last week Saturday and was assisted by the super friendly Liv. I saw a top that I liked but it was a big size so I went to Liv and asked if there's smaller size available. After checking on her system, she said yes and then without hesitation went to their store unit and came back with two different sizes for me to try. Liv was very friendly and very eager to help and I am so impressed. Really amazing service and she's a huge assets to the store. thank you Liv

All saints is always quality. This one had sound staff which made it easier to understand the slightly confusing multiple reductions on certain items. Good quality clothing at great outlet prices. However their staff need to communicate more. Was just told by one man at the door it was 40% off everything but when taking an item to the till was told that was I had chosen was exempt from the offer by a blunt member of staff who was unwilling to help me. I'd like just to write a few words in appreciation for the warmly welcome received this sunday (feb 13) when me and my wife were just passing by in a simple tourist trip on a sunday morning. At first, we where attracked by the beatifull song that could be heard outside. When we approached to learn more about the church on some of it's outside banners, we where greated by a church member who invited us to enter. Upon entering, several peolple also greated us and I've never felt so welcomed in a place like this. Sadly we coudn't stay for long, but the few minutes we where there we felt very emotionally conected to this communit. This sunday they where celebating it's 175 foundation aniversary and I wish them many more years with god blessings.

Just saw the door open yesterday and popped in. A very quaint and traditional church on the side of the docks and worth a look of you can spare 15 minutes in passing.

This stands rock solid and four square to all that goes on around the docks. In many ways it is as great a sign of faith as the cathedral. Literally simply divine

Went to the tots with my nephew and it was lovely! Very nice atmosphere with lots of other mums/dads/nannys and lots of toys to play with, including a craft area and messy area. Finished the session with fruit, a short Bible story and some songs which the kids loved! Highly recommend.

This is a tabernacle of worshipping the God! ! The service here its of two folds. 1) For people who have mental capacity or able people. The service here commence from 10:00 to 11:30 2) Disabled people! The service commence from 11:30 to 12:30!! This is an amazing place where you can worship God !!!!

We attended Kingfisher 21 years ago before emigrating to New Zealand. During our lockdown I tuned in to the sermons via YouTube and am delighted to hear James still preaching excellent Bible based teachings that are relevant the world over.

Fantastic people, super welcoming, great band and topics addressed. I was an atheist when I first attended 3.5 years ago but I was at a crossroads in my life and decided to 'just try' church and see if it was like I remember as a kid. All my preconceived thoughts on church were blown away when I attended my first service and was welcomed so warmly by everyone. An absolute must visit for people with no faith or with faith!

If you want a Bible based, Spirit filled, welcoming church then you won't find better than One Church.

I never knew going to church could be so much fun! I only went to a service to see what the place was like before deciding whether or not to take our daughter to their youth club. Three years later and I have not stopped going! That first visit changed my life. This place is so full of heart and so much fun (the pastors often have us in stitches!) and the worship is like going to a pop concert! Loud, engaging and of professional standards. You will leave smiling and pondering about the sermon that never fails to deliver a profound message. Try it! This church is awesome. :)

We tried the evening service and there was a very warm welcome. The word preached was good and so was the worship, but the latter was so loud that sadly it's put me off going again.

My family (3 under 6's and my wife) attend and worship at One Church. We simply love it. A safe environment for the kids, Each week there is a heartfelt, courageous Biblical teaching preach, carefully and creatively conveyed. The music is varied, enthusiastic and a lot is written in house. We were welcomed with open arms, feel privileged to have found it and call it our home Church. 

We go to toddler group here on a Thursday morning from 10 - 11.30. It's a great group with lots for the toddlers to play with.

A Great place of Worship, friendly and welcoming Christian people, A evangelical baptist church which is Biblically driven, of course this only my opinion. They do have a community cafe open on Thursdays.

Was invited to attend a programme *Labyrinth* years back and I was greatly blessed. My family end up in the church when my old church closed down. No regrets ever, all beautiful people I must say.

A well kept church building and graveyard. The main building is clean outside but a little plain. The interior has been well maintained and decorated sympathetically. A graveyard is well tended with tombstones clearly visible. The quaint red brick building has seen better days but is still in regular use. The pair of ramshackle 'temporary' grey buildings at the far end are a bit of an eyesore. However, the School House - the small Cotswold stone building in the car park - is a listed building and worth a look.

Looks like it could be a lively church . From layout furniture and equipment. We were there for a diocese event which was very straight laced!

Went to use foodbank very nice people a good selection of foods and great advice. The only thing that was out of sorts you get to front entrance of church there are no sights pointing in the direction of food bank that a small building around the back of church.

Awful Christmas Midnight Mass service. No welcome on arrival. No goodbye or acknowledgement on leaving. No one knew the songs chosen and no one was singing. Service was given in a monologue with no emotion or tonal variety. Speech content did not deliver any real message and required no thought on the part of the parishioners. We went to Trinity Baptist to attend a service for the Celebration of the life of my Sister, after her burial. The people from Trinity we very nice & very kind. As a young child I remember going to Sunday School at Trinity Baptist from 3 year old right up until I was16. The people from Trinity are very welcoming & love to greet everyone.

This is a wonderful church, with friends family and the truth words of God is thought.

This is where Christ is truly preached. The Bible is taught and expounded carefully and with diligent study. The Pastors and leaders take their accountability before God and their responsibilities seriously.

This lot make up some of my best neighbours and a very reliable decent lot of folks in the community. Glad to call them friends. There is wisdom and loyalty and trust here.

Don't normally attend this church, but as it's just round the corner we decided to attend the carols by candlelight. It was a nice evening, lots of people, and also very different as lots of tvs around the room which had the words which was very good.

It's great to see this church reopening after Lockdown. I went down today and they were giving food parcels to hungry families. They do so much for the community and I can't wait until all of their programmes are back up and running.

I wouldn't go to this church because they say they are Christians But they are not they say that they love their neighbours and that they Christians 24/7 as a neighbour I have been nothing but bullet by them particularly by a man called Brian who rang me up screaming down the phone Just because as neighbours of the church wanted to find a nice way that we could share our space together But all we got was that we knew when we bought our houses that the church was there my argument was that when they built the church they knew we were here and there meant to be Christians I do feel concerned about the way Brian behaves and a number of other people at the church I wouldn't go to the church I feel deeply sad about this

City Church is open and welcoming, everybody is friendly, no pressure to do things, we just come before God. Music comes from different worship bands, and the preaching is excellent. There's a children's group, and there are usually refreshments after the service. Come and enjoy!

I know that this church is part of Gloucester City mission. I attend here mainly on a Wednesday to access their food for the hungry. They always offer a friendly environment. And I can only take my experience from the Wednesday, but I can imagine as a church is probably a wonderful place.

My daughter (currently 17 yrs) has been a keen volunteer/observer at St. Paul's for years. Mrs Sayani has been instrumental in shaping her career (decision-making) by providing her (along with many others) the exposure into health care setting. My daughter has massively benefitted from the observership, which has influenced her decision to take medicine as her career profession. She has proudly reflected on her wide variety of care experiences. She proudly appreciates how smaller (but local family run) establishments like St. Paul's are vital in shaping health needs (both care provision & career development) of a local region. My daughter also appreciate how difficult this is in the current climate where there is massive challenges with staffing, recruitment, finances and ongoing national health care pressures. Overall I would like to (on behalf of my daughter) confirm that St. Paul's Care home, besides providing care, has been vital in shaping the career paths of many young aspiring teenagers in Gloucester. Full praises to Mrs Sayani and the St. Paul's team.

Only the tower remains of this church. The tower is in a picturesque graveyard in a pretty landscape. Worth visiting for the location alone.

This is a lovely church. Modern design, slim high windows, great acoustics. Limited parking but easy to find, bus stop right outside, church hall opposite. Lovely vicar too. We had GirlGuiding Thinking Day celebration here and it was quite special in this church 😊

Great Atmosphere gransons love it, and I have a coffee and homemade cake .thank you to the lovely ladies there.

Built in 1938/9 and consecrated in 1940 this is in of the finest churches of its time. Built from concrete and brick it has a high vaulted ceiling and some fine glass Windows. The Philomusica choir of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire performed a concert in the church in March 2019 which was enhanced by the wonderful accoustics and accompanied by the very fine organ.

a lovely old church,its kept beautiful inside and out, cared for by members of the church. its a small congregation and newcomers are made very welcome. Its very popular for weddings as it is very traditional. The Christmas carol service, by candlelight ,with St Georges choir is very lovely and well attended.

We had a picnic in the churchyard on our walk. Very pretty. The church was locked (understandably in these times)

I was there for an event, not a service, so I don't know what the congregation or preachers are like, but it was a beautiful building with a warm atmosphere. The minister was pleasant and the few members I met were also very kind and welcoming.
