Santa Lucía Hill, a small urban hill in the heart of Santiago, Chile, holds great historical and cultural significance as it was the site where Pedro de Valdivia founded the city in the mid-sixteenth century. The picturesque park on the hill features terraces, fountains, and a summit viewpoint offering magnificent panoramic views of Santiago. With charming hidden corners like the Neptune Fountain and Hidalgo Castle, this area is a must-visit for its beauty and historical importance.
Cerro Santa Lucia is a gorgeous park in downtown Santiago with beautiful views of the city. The trees and the gardens are particularly gorgeous. It is a must-ser place in Santiago. But go there with good running shoes or hiking boots. It has many stairs and they are a bit slippery.
Vítor P — Google review
Cool place with a nice view. Probably a must go if you’re visiting Santiago. Be aware that it’s a LOT of stairs to climb.
Gabriel E — Google review
Cerro Santa Lucía is a beautiful historic hill in the heart of Santiago, Chile. It offers stunning city views, peaceful gardens, and charming old architecture. A perfect spot for a relaxing walk, photography, or enjoying sunset moments. A must-visit for travelers exploring Santiago.
عبدالرزاق ا — Google review
Beautiful hill in the heart of Santiago with gardens, fountains, and historic architecture. The climb is not too difficult and rewards you with amazing panoramic views of the city and the Andes. A perfect spot for a short walk, photography, or just relaxing in nature while still being in the city center.
Vakhtang J — Google review
A lovely park with a great view of the city - very easy 15 minute maximum stroll up to the top, which can get busy, but feels very safe. Lovely places to relax in the shade or sun, with small cafes and snacks shops dotted along the paths.
Joe K — Google review
Great spot to visit. Easy climb up to top for lovely views.
Shireen S — Google review
Such a beautiful view over the city. Short walk up. Many places to sit and rest on the way up. Free entrance.

Observation Decks & Towers
Lookouts
Sky Costanera is a must-visit glass-walled observation deck located 300 meters high in the Gran Torre Santiago, the tallest building in Latin America. From this iconic spot, visitors can enjoy breathtaking 360º panoramas of Santiago and its surroundings, including views of the Andes mountains. The observation deck offers an unparalleled vantage point to admire the city's modern buildings, urban parks, and landmarks like Cerro San Cristobal and Cerro Santa Lucia.
If you like altitude, I highly recommend! I was surprised at the low price and high-quality meal I received in the restaurant area of the top floor. Very enjoyable to sit there at a window table with this view and a delicious dinner. I will definitely repeat this experience next time I am in Santiago.
Kurt D — Google review
Fantastic! Built in 2015, and currently the tallest building in South America, I would say it’s well-worth it for the views! It’s 20,000 CLP for adults, and it’s one of the highlights of Santiago. A great place to admire the view, and capture some great photos! There’s also a nice bar/restaurant that can be good (otherwise, there are more food options in the main mall). There are bathrooms and a gift store, too. Can definitely recommend! By yourself, a date, or with your family and friends!!
Sang K — Google review
A must-visit in Santiago! Check the weather forecast so you can really enjoy it and see the Andes. The staff is super friendly and helpful. On both floors of the viewpoint, there are decorated spots perfect for taking photos to post. Amazing 360º view of the city!
Amauri — Google review
Gorgeous city views. One of a kind. They have a second floor where you feel the air from outside cause it's open roof but the windows are all like 40 feet tall, so you technically do feel like you're still indoors.
Isabel S — Google review
Sky Costanera is a must-visit landmark in Santiago. This impressive skyscraper features an observation deck at the very top, offering breathtaking 360° views of the city and the majestic Andes mountains. The experience is unforgettable, especially on clear days when the Cordillera de Los Andes looks spectacular in the background. It’s one of the best ways to truly appreciate the scale and beauty of Santiago.
Joan T — Google review
Wow! An absolute must try! $20 USD to get to the top of the tower. It has two levels for viewing. One of them is open roof. There is also a restaurant that has amazing food and equally amazing prices. Try to get up there before sunset. As the sun sets and night moves in, the views continue to change and they just keep getting better. 10/10!
Brock R — Google review
What a view and this part of town is a contrast to the older quarter of Santiago. The place is well run, no issues getting in and out. Everything was explained to us by an English speaking guide. Well organized. Loved the view from the top.
Sumiitra S — Google review
Sky Costanera was an impressive complex, not only the tallest building in Latin America but also home to Santiago’s largest mall. On our first visit we headed straight for the observation deck after arriving by Uber. We found the ticket booth one floor below street level after asking a security guard. I paid about forty US dollars for two tickets, which felt reasonable compared to prices in the US or the UK. The line for the elevator was longer than the ride itself. The lift moved so quickly that we reached the lower observation floor in under a minute. To reach the upper platform we simply took the escalator after taking pictures around the lower level. We arrived on a Monday around sunset and found it very crowded, but I suspect weekends would be even busier. The sun was already dipping when we got there, and in hindsight, arriving thirty minutes earlier would have given us more daylight for our photos. Staying through sunset, however, allowed us to capture a wide range of lighting effects, and once darkness fell, the crowds dispersed almost immediately. A few days later, we returned by Uber again to explore the mall portion. Spread over five well-laid out levels, we managed to see most of the stores in about three hours, with breaks for lunch and coffee. We ate at Kali and Dipsy, an American style hamburger joint that exceeded our expectations. My fiancée loved her burger so much that she wanted to go back on another day to eat there again. About an hour after lunch, we stopped at Juan Valdez for a strong coffee and shared a rather dry brownie, which the coffee easily made up for. After we finally finished shopping, we headed down to the underground level to catch a taxi back to our hotel. We used Uber for both trips but found departures chaotic with the crush of traffic surrounding the complex. On both visits we opted to take a taxi from the parking garage beneath the complex. Just follow the signage on the first level to the garage entrance, take a number, and wait for a taxi to arrive. Overall, we were delighted with both visits to Sky Costanera and would recommend it to anyone visiting Santiago.

Park
Parque Bicentenario is a sprawling urban green space located in the upscale district of Vitacura, Santiago. Opened in 2007 to commemorate Chile's bicentennial, this meticulously maintained park offers pristine walking paths, lush green areas, and a man-made lagoon with picturesque boardwalks along the Mapocho River. It also features a dog agility course, sports fields, picnic spots, and a playground for families to enjoy.
It’s one of the best green spaces in Santiago. The park is clean, safe, and well maintained, with wide walking paths and lagoons where you can see swans and many birds I had never seen before. It’s perfect for a family walk, picnic, or just relaxing outdoors. Plenty of space for kids and good playgrounds make it even better.
Алексей С — Google review
A beautiful park with lots of greenery and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s well-maintained, including the toilets, and there are plenty of places to sit and relax. It’s a great spot for a picnic or just to chill. There’s even a designated area for dogs to play, which is a nice touch. However, the roads and the dog park are incredibly dusty. My dog ended up looking like a piece of mud after playing there! I feel like there could be a better solution than having so much dust on the paths—it really takes away from the experience. Overall, it’s a lovely park, but the dusty roads…. Omg 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
Aliona S — Google review
It is a very large and well-maintained park. It is usually very busy on weekends. It is a perfect place to take a walk or to relax away from the noise of the city. There is a small lake in it And the lake has swans and fish that you can feed. A perfect place to relax.
Taner K — Google review
Such a pretty and peaceful park with the most gorgeous swans!

A huge park, well maintained, plenty of parking, mini food truck where you can eat, get soda, ice cream, coffee, cakes, even hamburgers for dogs, a lagoon with huge fish, a nice place to go for a walk
Edgard M — Google review
Gorgeous. Under construction in some places, but a beautiful park :)
Ashley E — Google review
A nice park in the wealthiest neighborhood of Santiato
Yuri F — Google review
Easily a wonderful park that Santiago should be proud to have. This is as good or better than most parks we have in the US. There are multiple playgrounds, a body weight fitness park, hike and bike trails, a pond, open fields, and a fantastic view of the skyline above it all. You could easily spend hours here e joying the day. There are a fair amount of trees so shade can be found. Restrooms are available for free near the southern part of the park. It's very pet and kid friendly.

San Cristóbal Hill, also known as Cerro San Cristobal, is a must-visit landmark in Santiago. It offers stunning city views and various attractions. Visitors can hike up the hill or take the popular funicular train to reach the top. At the summit, they can admire the statue of the Virgin Mary and enjoy panoramic views of the city while savoring local refreshments.
This place was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. I enjoyed many aspects. I truly wish I had more time to stay there. Lots to see and do in that area. Till we meet again. I WOULD RECOMMEND
Cindy L — Google review
Visited Chile last year. A beautiful and peaceful place with amazing views of Santiago. I could even see in the distance, the snow on a part of the Andes mountain range. It was great.
Sumiitra S — Google review
The 22-meter statue on San Cristóbal Hill, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, was designed by Italian sculptors Luigi Poletti and Giuseppe Obici, and was constructed by the French foundry Val D'Osne. Although it's cloudy day, tourists still crowded. The cable car took us to a platform where there are lots of souvenir stores , food stalls, then taking about 100 steps to the top. I wish I had enough time to climb up all the way to the top myself. The overview was excellent even in a cloudy day.
Zemin B — Google review
Takes around 40 minutes to walk up the hill, no entrance fee. Very beautiful view of Santiago, especially during sunset. It is possible to take the cable car too, if you don't want to walk up or down.
Tina — Google review
I went for a 7 AM run and was treated to an incredible sunrise view-it’s the perfect way to start the day. The trail was already a bit busy at that hour, but it’s very walkable and enjoyable for runners and hikers alike. The views are stunning, and I’d say the trail is a moderate effort, challenging enough to feel accomplished but still accessible for most. Best of all, it’s free to explore! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Santiago.
Michal W — Google review
Recoleta is a lively and diverse district of Santiago, known for its mix of culture, history, and everyday local life. It’s famous for the Patronato neighborhood, where you’ll find bustling markets, street food, and affordable shopping, reflecting the area’s strong immigrant influence. Recoleta is also home to the Cementerio General, one of the largest cemeteries in Latin America, full of history and impressive mausoleums. Close to central Santiago, it’s an interesting place to explore if you want to see a more authentic side of the city beyond the tourist areas. It has magnificent views to the city.
Vakhtang J — Google review
We rode the Funicular up and had great views. Had a snack and did the short hike up to the statue. The breeze was nice and the shade felt so good on a hot day. We decided to not take the funicular down and instead walked down thinking it would be a quick and easy way down and get our legs moving. It was about 2-2.5km walk down the road as we couldn’t find a trail to take us straight down and had to follow the road. We should have bought the round-trip funicular ticket. Oh well, it was a nice day so we made it safely, just a bit hot. Really great views from the top. Viva Santiago!

Specialty Museums
La Chascona is a must-visit in Santiago for literature enthusiasts. It was the former residence of the renowned poet Pablo Neruda and his third wife, Matilde Urrutia. The house, designed to resemble a ship, now serves as a museum showcasing Neruda's personal belongings and an impressive collection of art, including a portrait of his wife by Diego Rivera. The quirky architecture and vibrant colors reflect Neruda's unique style.
Amazing experience: the way they synchronized the audio with the spaces of the house was really intelligent. I recommend for tourists who want to know a little bit more about Pablo Neruda and his importance in Chile.
Isadora A — Google review
La Chascona was Pablo Neruda’s house in Santiago. Is located in Bellavista, few steps from the funicular. The entrance fee is CLP 9,500 (about $10 USD), credit cards accepted. The audio guide is essential to fully appreciate the house, at the end of the tour you need to return it. The firsr thing to do is view the short documentary in the video room. Inside the house, you’ll find an eclectic mix of art, maritime decor, and personal items. For people with mobility issues, Keep in mind, the house has stairs. La Chascona offers an interesting look into Neruda’s life and personality. The audio guide and documentary help you understand the experience better, so take your time and appreciate this part of Chilean history.
Valek — Google review
La Chascona offers a wonderful immersive experience into Pablo Neruda’s life. It’s well-organized, well-maintained, and easy to follow. The full visit takes about 1–2 hours, no more. Please note that photos are not allowed inside the house.
André M — Google review
Great museum to visit while in Santiago, very near to the funicular so it's a good activity to pair with that. I don't usually use the museum audio guides anywhere I go but this was really informative and helpful so I recommend it.
L.A. D — Google review
It was very nice to be able to visit one of the homes of such a reknowned poet. Entrance was less than $10 per person and an interesting experience. Cost includes a very useful audioguide. The house was quaint and peculiar. There was a small room with a 10 or so minute video that described some of Neruda's back story. The house was broken up into three different structures connected through outdoor stairs, gardens, and other various foliage. It was interesting to see actual poems and writings of Neruda's with edits, etc. The houses were apportioned very nicely with artwork, etc. It also included a beautiful painting by Diego Rivera. The store at the end also had some beautiful artwork. Overall, it was a nice way to spend 30 to 60 minutes.
Jo R — Google review
A very nice house museum. If you are into peeking into amazing peoples houses or Neruda in general this is a must. An audio tour device is available and is included in the price. The house is densely packed with parts of Neruda’s past and life. Like most places it is closed on Mondays.
Andy S — Google review
Beautiful house, and the audio guide really helps. You can't take photos inside, only in the gardens, and you can buy Pablo nerudas works if you want after the tour. Very chill, no guide, you go through at your own pace.

Fantasilandia is a popular amusement park located in the heart of Santiago, Chile. Established in 1978, it has become one of the top tourist attractions in the country. The park offers a wide variety of attractions including high-adrenaline roller coasters, family rides, and activities for kids and youngsters. With over forty exhilarating attractions to choose from, Fantasilandia provides entertainment for visitors of all ages.
A wonderful place to hang out with family and have a memorable day.
Jean J — Google review
There are some attractions missing, but it's mostly because it's about to move somewhere bigger, still the attractions remaining are good and safe, some still remain since the very beginning. There's a zone for kids and at the entrance of every attraction are instructions and guidelines related to minimum height, warning about leaving their belongings in a locker or a safe place before getting inside due to some attractions have very strong and sudden turns and twists to lose objects. Overall, it is a great place to enjoy with a group and lose the fear, or at least try. Careful, things are expensive inside. But service got better over the years.
Mirko B — Google review
Very fun rides with lots to do. The longest time in a line was under 20 minutes. Some of the rides seem to be a bit dated and the infrastructure is starting to show its age. Overall a great experience and would recommend.
Nic D — Google review
A magical place where you can spend the whole day with your family. Park tickets can be reserved online or purchased at the ticket office. There seem to be a lot of people at the entrance to the park, but inside there is a lot of space and there is enough space for everyone. Riding on absolutely all attractions is included in the entrance ticket price. Therefore, after entering the park, you can ride any attraction as many times as you like. Inside the park there is a children's area and special lockers for things.
Elena — Google review
Reasonable price for what you get, we were there on a weekend and it felt a bit packed, lots of lines.
Jessica D — Google review
Very fun especially for kids. Lots of rides and reasonable prices. You may find they are sold out on line but you can go and buy tickets at their box office. Food is kind of expensive and limited choice. I would recommend for a day out.
Jacob G — Google review
Entertainment machines Park (no English translator available). Available parking, Grosery stands, drinks stands, presents and souvenirs outside Park. Labour time 12.00 to 19.00 weekend and labours days. Go to webpage to buy ticket and make a reservation. Also, buy tickets onsite.
Endersón C — Google review
Poor man‘s Disneyland - in a good way. The screams of joyful terror coming from the rides are just as loud, the waiting lines much shorter and the admission fee costs even less than a tenth of the big American originals. (Around 20 USD per adult, kids half price, January 2024) They offer rides for all ages, from gentle carousels to terrifying roller coasters. Everything is a little smaller and - of course - lacking all the lore from known comics and movies, but the core amusement park business is the same. They do not want you to take food inside and might check your bags. Bringing water is okay. There are a lot of mostly greasy options to eat inside, not cheap, but not as absurdly overpriced as in the big US parks. Note: online booking, which is even cheaper, only works for Chilean nationals.

Bicentenario de la Infancia Park is a giant playground in Santiago offering stunning views and a variety of activities for kids. The park features slides, climbing equipment, and a small waterpark. It is well-maintained with friendly staff, clean toilets, and shaded areas from old trees. The park also includes a library and cable car (funicular) operating during specific hours. Visitors recommend bringing extra clothes for the water area as it can get quite wet.
This park is very nice for a family trip with children. There are plenty possibilties to play surrounded by nature. Our children loved it. There are also toilets, rubbish bins and the park has gated entries.

Beautiful park for kids. Lota of activities to do. A lot of shade from great old trees. Weel kept and friendly staff. Water spheres work from 14.00 till 19.00. Library and cable car (funicular) work from 11.00 till 19.00 Toilets are impecably clean (just need to grab toilet paper before going in. Thetr is only at the entrance of the bathroom area, not in each stall). 100% recommended!

Great place to bring the kids. Most games are for small children and toddlers but you can find a few for older kids (up to 15!!!) Perfectly clean toilets and a very safe place. We had a wonderful day and we will be going back here soon!

Pretty nice park in line with most other reviews but not worth driving across town for. On the day I was here (Friday) all the major attractions were closed: the library, the water spheres and the funicular. The latter two are only open on the weekends, but thr library was just a one-off closure it seems.

Theme park
KidZania Santiago is part of a global chain of indoor theme parks designed for children aged 1-14. The park offers interactive play areas where kids can engage in realistic role-play activities, combining fun and learning. While some may have reservations about its commercial nature due to sponsorships by industry partners, many visitors find it to be an amazing experience. With organized activities and minimal wait times, there's plenty to do but not enough time to cover everything in one visit.
This was our first Kidzania experience and we all loved it. There was a good amount of people on a Friday afternoon, but we didn't mind at all. My kids aren't Spanish speaking, but I was able to help translate with some of the activities. For the others, they were able to follow good enough by following their visuals. I really liked how not all activities required a reservation. When they had to wait in between, they could do other activities, including Kidzo-earning ones like delivering packages, dry cleaning, washing windows, more. They can also pay kidzos for other things besides the redemption store. Ex: sushi making class. The workers were fun, supportive, & enthusiastic (especially at the fire station!) My 8 and 4 year old pretty much did it all: fire Fighting, sushi 🍣 making, bread baking, pizza 🍕 making (& the pizza was good btw,) transported gas, medic assistance, bottled soda, made candy, delivered packages, washed windows, more... We at least had a great experience, & I have a feeling that this location set a higher bar for the other Kidzanias around the world 🌎 🌍

It was on January 2nd that I went there with my daughter aged 4. We had spent 6 hours there with a lot of fun, no wait for each attractions which is zero stress. We had been another KidZania in Tokyo once, it was crowded with people on Friday afternoon, and needed to make appointment for each attractions. After all we spent there for six hours, and were able to do 3 or 4 jobs for our kid. So comparing to both experience in different countries, KidZania in Chile is my highly recommended. Great staff, fabulous experience for kids.

La Moneda Palace, also known as Palacio de la Moneda, is an elegant building in the heart of Downtown Santiago. Originally constructed as the Royal Mint between 1784 and 1805, it was later repurposed as the presidential palace. Designed by Italian architect Joaquin Toesca, this Neoclassical structure holds historical significance as the official seat of government for Chilean presidents. Visitors can explore its grand architecture and learn about its rich heritage through guided tours.
This is a must visit in Santiago. It is the offices of the President of Chile. It is the site of the military coup in 1973. It’s the home of their democratic government today and in the past. They do a change of guard every two days at 10:00 AM. That is a very splendid event to watch. Go under the Moneda for some stunning art exhibitions, a snack, and clean bathrooms. The ceremony starts at the back of the Moneda and marches around to the front where most of the ceremony occurs. Get there a little early to get a good viewing spot. If you look closely you can still find where they repaired bullet holes on the palace. There several other spectacular government structures in the

So fun watching the changing of the guard. It’s on at 10 on odd days in months with an odd amount of days, and even dates on others.

Hoped to be able to tour the inside, but they had pretty tight security around the building and not allowing tourists to even go inside of the perimeter fence that was set up. Took a few pictures from the memorial plaza/park area adjacent to the palace. This building functions as a government/state building and houses many offices and meeting rooms for high ranking government officials in the Chilean government. A nice display and many flags and memorials to past leadership are also found on the ground and around the area. This is one of the key buildings you'll find on many of the Chilean souvenirs. It's a significant historical landmark.

The park offers lush trees, wide green spaces, and pleasant paths for leisurely walks with splendid views. Visitors can relax by charming ponds or explore the nearby Lastarria neighborhood known for its art house cinemas, galleries, bars, and restaurants.
This is one of my favorite parks in Santiago. It’s a long, beautiful stretch of lush green grass with plenty of tall trees providing shade. It’s relaxing to sit on a bench and take in nature while watching all the dogs play and interact with each other. The park is very clean, with lots of open areas where you can lie down on the grass or sit and chat on a bench with a friend.

Visiting the monument at the top of the highest hill is one of the many worthwhile spots in Parque Forestal. It is possible to reach it on foot, but due to the heat that day, we took an Uber to the monument’s entrance. From there, a good number of steps lead up to the impressive structure—an architectural achievement with a rich history and a great view over Mendoza. However, the now-grown trees somewhat obstruct the panoramic view of the city. We walked all the way down towards the Ecopark, which was a nice descent. If using Uber, it’s helpful to

This park is an ideal destination for spending leisure time with friends or family without breaking the bank. Parque Metropolitano de Santiago felt like the perfect escape from the city’s bustle. Riding the funicular up San Cristóbal Hill, I was treated to stunning views of Santiago stretching out below. The Japanese Garden was a serene highlight, offering a peaceful moment to pause and reflect. Hiking through the trails was invigorating, and reaching the Virgin Mary statue at the summit felt rewarding. The National Zoo added a fun touch, especially seeing Chile’s native wildlife up close. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or an active day outdoors, this park delivers. I left feeling refreshed, already planning my next visit.

The park offers a great nature escape within the city, providing outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and sightseeing , and features numerous attractions such as a zoo, Japanese Garden, and the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception. This park seems to have everything, it's home to four museums with several other just outside the park. It is a Big Park with a small Boating Lake, an Athletics Track, Tennis Courts, a Swimming Pool. Lots of trees and places to sit in the shade. Nice place for walking or jogging. It was very quiet when I visited during a week day, daytime. I found it reassuring that the police patrol this park on motorcycles, perhaps after some incidents of robbery, but I felt quite safe.

4 stars only because it's a very large park with lots of trees, a nice pond where you can rent a paddle boat and still some museums to visit. As another review mentions it looks to be in decline as a few of the large old buildings that look abandoned have been defaced by graffiti.

The Museum of Memory & Human Rights in Santiago, opened in 2010, is a modern building with deep historical significance. It commemorates the victims of human rights violations during Chile's military dictatorship from 1973 to 1990. The museum's avant-garde design includes symbolic elements representing the fight for human rights, such as a reflective wall inviting visitors to contemplate Chile's recent history.
Moving, powerful and important. Unapologetic in its refusal to forget the cruelties that happened under Pinochet. The museum is thorough and meticulous, with every shred of evidence documented and as much information on every victim as possible. As others have said, some of the information is in Spanish (and only in Spanish) - but that also reflects the incredible volume of information there. There is an additional library and archive on the bottom floor, which was closed when we visited. The museum is free to enter, making it accessible for all, which again feels an important statement. However, you can leave a donation or pay 5,000 for an audio guide (they have them in English, which can help bridge the gap for non-Spanish speakers). Highly recommend. Very easy to reach by metro.

The Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, housed in an elegant 1805 building that was once the Royal Customs House in Santiago, is a must-visit for art and archaeology enthusiasts. Its extensive collection spans 4,500 years and showcases the artistic diversity and advancement of around 80 pre-Columbian civilizations of South America including the Incas, Mayans, and Aztecs. The museum offers beautifully curated exhibits providing insight into these proud civilizations.
Definitely one of the best museums in Santiago. Here, you can truly feel the essence of Chile’s native peoples, especially the Mapuche. The collection includes very ancient and priceless artworks, all incredibly original. The exhibits are well divided and organized. On top of that, you can also see the impressive Chemamülles sculptures up close. Absolutely worth a visit! Some people might not give it five stars simply because they’re not enthusiasts of this kind of art. But for those who love culture, anthropology, or prehistoric art, it’s a rare opportunity to see works that date back as far as 2,000 years before Christ.

The museum features exhibits on the country's flora and fauna, including lifelike displays of animals in their natural habitats that captivate children.
A well presented museum with a lot to see for people of all ages. On a Saturday morning, it was a zoo with lots of children and young families which made it loud and raucous. 😊 Some of the displays are a little tired and need to be refreshed but there a lot to learn here. This is a fabulous well organized and well maintained museum showcasing the wonderful biodiversity of Chile. Owing to its unique geography Chile has several climatic and environmentally distinct regions each with its own separate ecosystem. This museum proves to succinctly describe the natural history of each region with eye catching displays including geographical maps, plant and animal exhibits, palaeontology remains and anthropological artifacts. The museum has free admission and is located in the Quinta Normal Park system that has other fascinating museums and attractions within its confines. AMAZING, It seemed a bit small for me, but it was very interesting, it has a skeleton of a huge whale, everyone should see it. Awesome descriptions of animals and its habits. Awesome collection.

It is a beautiful museum. Very interesting and rich exhibitions. But, it would be very nice if there was any English text, even a little bit, as a lot of foreigners visit it. Also, some refreshment of the museum seems to be a good idea, as well as creation of a gift shop.

A big museum in the inner part of the big park not far from city center! The building looks so grand like a palace. The exhibition hall is tremendous to acoommodate a lot of big stuff! The route for visitors is clear. The details of Chile's climate and natural history are well displayed along the passage. One can really learn a lot about the country's natural environment! Yet the captions and instructions are all in spanish without English translation, which might be quite hard for international visitors. Nonetheless, it is very snug to walk inside and enjoy watching the treasure preserved!

The museum of Natural History in Santiago, Chile is one of the best museums I have visited. It located in Parque de Quinta. You can take a metro just outside the park. The entry is free for everybody. When we visited they had huge Dinosaurs skeletons on display. It covers each & every geographic area of Chile giving all historical details. In the same park you have the railway museum showcasing old steam engines locomotive. You have to pay 900 pesos as entrance fees for railway museum. The kids would love to spend time in park's water sprinkler pool on warm afternoons. Overall a very good place to visit with family or individual.

Buin Zoo, located just a short drive from downtown Santiago, is a well-established animal park offering spacious enclosures and diverse experiences. Visitors can enjoy feeding giraffes, riding ponies, and attending educational presentations while emphasizing conservation and animal welfare. The zoo provides interactive opportunities for both school groups and the general public to promote respect for wildlife. With clean and organized facilities, it offers a quality experience akin to larger zoos like the San Diego Zoo.
Excellent theme zoo, you can stay all day. Extensive facilities, entertaining atmosphere and well cared for animals. A jewel to visit with family and children.

Visiting from the U.S., our first trip to Buin Zoo was absolutely incredible! We were captivated by the detailed representations of different continents and impressed by the friendly staff. My daughters were thrilled to see so many capybaras, their favorite animal, and we all adored the red panda. While it's a bit of a drive from the city, it was definitely worth every minute!

It is a good zoo but I found price to be too expensive. There are many children, places to eat and drink, everything is organized well. Many animals are there and th visibility is good.

Was pretty good, the weather was so good, and is wonderful, I full recommend for kids, there are so many animals, birds and so many places to stop when you're so tired, there are so many restaurants ( fast food) to eat. There are souvenir's shops and there are an act with marines animals, all was ok and so good.

Excellent zoo in Santiago, the place was very clean and beautiful, it's not the largest zoo I have been but I really enjoyed my tour despite its size it has a great variety of animals but I am concerned about the little space that the animals have. I really enjoyed the marine show at the zoo, it was very informative and entertaining. I loved it !!

Beatiful place with great access. Mostly wheelchair friendly but can turn quite difficult in some parts. The animals are well taken care of and looked happy and the staff is very nice and helpfull. Its has its own parking lot.

Byin Zoo is one of the best parks that you can visit! Staff super friendly! And the scenery and animals are awesome, amazingly well done. The animal's habitats are carefully maintained. The park it is clean and you will have multiple spots for beverage and get something to eat. Just save your time and money and avoid visiting Hakuna Matata restaurant, it is a waste of money, only good thing there is the air conditioning 😉 the park management must work to improve that restaurant, before was really good.

Good selection of animals: lions, jaguar, monkeys, rhinos, giraffes, snakes, birds, etc. Has a tarantula (arthropods) exhibit. Took 2 boys 6 and 12 and both enjoyed the visit. Small enough to do in an afternoon, about 40 exhibits. A few "shows". A bit stinky but maybe expected for a zoo. Visited in late May 2019; weather was cool.

This tin thinker man, is standing at the exit of the Interactive Science Museum Mirador. So he might be thinking about the whole experience of small early scientists coming out of the many demonstrations inside. Wonderful place devoted to science, lot of physics, biology, chemistry. Every school should include it in the academic year, small monsters and big monsters, all ages welcome.

Brilliant place. So many exhibits to touch and twiddle in a well laid out space. All in Spanish, but if you have a decent level you'll be ok. The earthquake room is a big attraction and you have to reserve a place in advance. I don't think you can do that when you buy the tickets online. (As a solo visitor I managed to bag a seat even when it was agotado.)

Super recommended for kids (and adults 😄). It's a great science museum with many fun things to see and interact with. I can't wait to go back again with my son when he's older. He's only 2 so we couldn't appreciate the whole deal but it's perfect for 4 year old kids.

The funicular access to the Cerro San Cristobal is a popular activity for families, taking visitors from the base of the Metropolitan Park in Bellavista to the second highest peak in Santiago. The ride includes a stop at Santiago Zoo for those interested, although some reviews suggest that the zoo may not meet modern standards. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the city and visit an interesting religious site at the top. While lines can be long, purchasing tickets online can help skip the queue.
It is inside a beautiful park. You can buy the tickets at the machines line up right by the entrance. They offer several combinations of tickets. The view is great, Santiago at one side and the Andes on the other. Staff is helpful and friendly.
Rachel B — Google review
Buying a ticket didn’t take long, but there was quite a long queue to board the funicular—even on a weekday. I can only imagine how crowded it gets on weekends and public holidays. Still, it’s a unique and scenic way to reach Cerro San Cristóbal, so it’s worth the wait if you have time!
Dieu C — Google review
What a great Funicular to travel on. I bought a ticket online just before I joined the queue. There was a separate queue for people buying tickets at the kiosk but the online queue was much quicker. When the ticket queue reaches to ticket hall (bottom of Funicular) you will be there about 10 minutes but you get a great view of the cars going up and down (you can also buy an ice cream in the ticket hall)

Great cultural center. Not very crowded in the mornings. Some of the exhibitions are free. It is very family friendly. Photos are permitted in most places. I would recommend going to exhibitions related to Chilean culture.
Diego E — Google review
There were 4 different small exhibitions in different levels of this huge underground building when we visited. My favorites were the Danish children's book illustrations showing how they have evolved over the decades and the photography exhibit of women football fans from South America and their various stories. Very moving or inspiring in many cases. Some additional explanations in English would have been nice, but we are in Chile, so that isn't a criticism.
Phil M — Google review
The inside looks really nice but I thought the exhibits were pretty boring and it didn’t help that there was absolutely no English anywhere. There are 6 exhibits total and 4 of them are free with 2 requiring a paid ticket.
Allen L — Google review
Great space to appreciate local culture and art. There are a couple of stores with excellent although expensive items. Entry is free but you need to reserve your ticket in advance. Staff can be rude at times but that's just another sample of the Chilean culture.
Jose Q — Google review
Fantastic Cultural center that is surprisingly hidden as it’s underneath the massive open space plaza above. There’s 2 small stairwells at either end which lead down underneath to the 2 story underground mall like area where many booths are dedicated as mini museums and others are gift shops showcasing local artwork and goods. Really enjoyed the art exhibits as they were showcasing a lot of unique pieces and many of them by less well known local artists that are only possible to be seen in Chile. There’s even a small theater although I did not get to personally experience it due to time constraints. You don’t have to budget too much time here but since everything here is free, feel free to spend as little or as much time as you would like.

.....What a stunning building back to back with the La Moneda Palace (the state-lii office of the President) where the entrance to the building is downstairs and you have to walk down a ramp to get there! It’s no dull walk because the first sighting to greet you is the water cascading down the full length of the ramps width coming from the roof-top fountain indeed a pleasant watery sound and sight. Then you are greeted by the neat signage and the big glass entrance. The level on which you arrive give you the impression of a super large atrium with smaller galleries on either side! The design of this building seems to be around “Ramps” again to get downstairs you walk down the ramps on either side. Looking down you will see a large area with comfortable simple-settees where you can sit and enjoy the shadow-video shows playing on the walls. Downstairs there are the Cinemas, a nice size restaurant, lots of smaller shops selling books, jewelry and artwork. The restroom facilities are nice and clean. It is free to gain access to this beautiful exhibition center and it is a very worthwhile experience to visit here!.....

Rojen B — Google review
Free, fun activities with lots of animals (including native and extinct) to see and city views!! Highly recommend! It took us about two hours to see everything. And luckily it was the time to feed many of the animals and we had some of the best zoo encounters in our lives! The zoo staff for instance, laid pieces of meat all over for Catacal to sniff and eat. It was super fun to see Catacal zooming around sniffing for food once it’s released from cage. And there were the screaming Gibons, very cute… one of the giraffe was obsessed with the fence and kept munching on it … we saw lettuce eating Emus, and being petted like little dogs. We couldn’t see the red panda (no longer there), and the tiger and Puma hid themselves the whole time.
Delilah L — Google review
Because of the ongoing reconstuctions the entrance fee was free, which is really a nice gesture. A lot of enthusiastic zoo workers told us interesting facts about the animals and recommended a route to visit. It's really a lovely programme. Free toilets and the funicular is also very close.

Maintenance needs to be improved. Some cages are empty and some parts are completely closed. There’s no tiger, no red panda, can barely see the lion and elephant. The smell is not good inside but the reason might be the rain.
Zhengyu F — Google review
Be prepared for a climb. The zoo sits on a hillside. In fact, one entrance is in the middle of the funicular. Have a card to pay there. Plenty of places to sit and rest or have a snack break. Not all of the animals were available to see. The lions and tigers were super active and fun to watch and it was awesome to see the condors!
Tammie H — Google review
Fun zoo. Good diversity of animals, and easy to get close to them. The zoo is on a pretty steep hill, but has a very manageable footprint - so walking around or pushing a stroller is a little bit of a workout, but not far. Saw everything with the attention span of a 3 year old and 6 year old in probably a little over an hour. Would only recommend to people able to walk up stairs. Mostly, there are ramps, but at least some are too steep for a wheelchair.

Fantastic mall for action sport and outdoor aficionados. All the major brands are there and there are even a climbing wall, inside, and a wave pool for surfing, outside. This actually left me disappointed. The traditional Chilean eatery with street food style sandwiches on offer. Wasn’t a fan of- heavy on the sauce, and whilst large portions- lacking in flavour, it wasn’t for me. In addition service was very dismissive and unfriendly.

My chileno amigos in Australia recommended this place so I tried it out whilst transiting through Santiago. The service was friendly and I was seated straight away. The Romano was absolutely massive but that didn’t stop me from eating the whole thing. The place is an institution

Again, perfection! I can’t get enough of these sandwiches. I will miss them immensely when I go back to Canada. The perfect combination and quality and old school service. The beers are huge and the sandwiches are even bigger!

Got overwhelmed by the menu but managed to order the churrasco italiano (tomato and avocado and mayo and meat). Something about the way they made the meat is just amazing. Big portion and I saved half for lunch next day (they pack your to go sandwich very well). I love it and crave for the chance to try another sandwich. Came on a Saturday for dinner and did not have to wait and got seated at counter inside.
Crystal Y — Google review
Expect a line but it moves very quickly. The Italian style churrasco was the best (has avocados on top) and one sandwich can easily feed 2 people. We also tried the Romano with farmer style with mayo, it was good too but not as good as churrasco.
Susie S — Google review
The Italian sandwich was drowning in gallons of mayonnaise… also had avocado and tomato. Tomato was cut horribly uneven. Good luck figuring out what the different meats are or what goes on each sandwich. A total disaster for us ⚰️
Christophertravelz — Google review
Very disappointed considering this place has very good reviews. I ordered the churrasco with sauerkraut, tomato, mayo. The meat was bland, I don’t think there was any seasoning on it at all, and there was far too much mayo which made it impossible to eat properly as it made the bread soggy, the mayo was also completely flavourless. If you’re going to load it with mayo as least make it taste good. Overall just a bland, difficult to eat sandwich, really not worth the good reviews I’ve seen

Beautiful murals! There's at least 40-50 scattered through the neighborhood, mostly on two main east-west roads (if you start at the Google maps location go west to the next major road and then north one block and then back to the east). Try to buy something from a store or street vendor to put some money into the neighborhood since the murals are free to view!

Great idea & perfect implementation - open-air graffiti museum in a "working" district, which makes dull surroundings brighter/better. Some murals are ingenious, some are less so, but majority of them touch important topics of Chilean society / humanity in general.

The museum is five square blocks of residential buildings with murals on the sides. It's nice walking through the neighborhood and enjoying the art works. We took the metro using Bip cards from Bellas Artes with one connection to get there.

Many murals set in different parallel streets. We could not see them all but maybe a half of them. Some were more beautiful than others, of course, but they all meant something and told a story. They are in a very poor block, though, that looked a bit dangerous since we were the only tourists, with locals around.

Nice spot to grab some ice cream and relax. The place has a cute and cozy vibe, and it’s supposedly one of the best ice cream parlor of the world. The ice cream is their specialty, with lots of unique flavors to choose from. I tried a couple of them, and they were great. They also have a small menu of snacks and drinks. This spot is mostly for to-go orders, as there are no tables to sit at. The process is a bit different—you pay first, then take your ticket to another person to get your ice cream. It can get crowded, so expect a short wait in lines. The prices are a bit cheaper compared to other shops in the area. Friendly staff. Credit cards accepted.

Emporio La Rosa Cafe is a gem for those seeking a delightful culinary experience. The extensive selection of flavorful ice creams is a highlight, offering a tantalizing variety. Beyond the sweet treats, the cafe excels in providing appetizers, sandwiches, and diverse dishes, catering to different preferences. The charming ambiance and the quality of their offerings make Emporio La Rosa a top choice for those looking to savor both sweet and savory delights in one place.

This is a solid ice cream shop with lots of flavors and offers. You can get single and double scoop sizes for a steal at less than $5 for either as of January 2024. The dark chocolate and pineapple flavors were our favorites. They also offer popsicles on the other side of the store. It's a small interior and a popular area so expect a line and not much seating. Plan to walk and eat, but it's worth it.
Michael B — Google review
This ice cream shop is a chain that can be found around Chile and is boasted to be some of the best ice cream in the world! I would agree that it is delicious and the portions are huge. The favours are unique (like the roasted flour that tastes like a sugar cookie). The seating outside is ample and always packed!

The tasters and gelato were amazing. Very smooth creamy , flavorful melted quickly. No accessible entrance for wheelchair users.

Went here with many recommendations and agree with them. Had so many flavors and options. The place had a big queue of people for ordering. Tried their Dulce tentacio and chocolate - both were excellent. We ordered one scoop and came with a sugar cone. Have seating outdoors where we sat and enjoyed it. They give out tasters too - we tried few before deciding which is helpful.

Fun little petting zoo! We had a great time, all the animals were friendly enough for our 1 year old to interact with. I know they have struggled with the pandemic so go and support if you can!

Nice break for the families with children. We came on a hot summer day and it was shady and breeze. Not crowded. Clean bathrooms. Cafeteria. Small playgrounds throughout the property. You pay entrance 2x, one for the main area and then to the Farm. Fun small children zip line. Good filler to get out of the city. You could do hiking after in the rest of the park.

Nice place to go with kids. They can feed and pet different animals like sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, lamas, ducks and pigs. There's also some games for kids like a tree house and some bridges that can be crossed.
Chris Y — Google review
To be honest, it is a disappointment to come here and scandalous they ask that amount of money to every person and Child to enter! Would not recommend. Entrance fee is way too high for what you get in return! You have to pay a park fee as well on top op the try fee because it is located into a park. The staff from the restaurant was unfriendly and you connot pay with cash. Much better places to visit with children when in santiago!
Hannelore P — Google review
Loved the animals, the lamas were quite funny, and the games are mostly for children. I would recommend buying the food to give to the animals, you get it at the entrance along with the tickets and the animals love it which makes easier to pet them

Nice place. My kids enjoyed it. It is not an all day adventure, maybe just a couple of hours. Definitely i do not think it is worth the money they charge. You have to pay a "park fee" of about CLP$3500 plus emtrance to the granja CLP$3900. There are no signs whatsover indicating where to go to the granja aventura. The day we arrived (tuesday) there was no one in the ticket window. 2 women sitting chit chatting in a chair outside. Again, no signs. It took us about 10 minutes for someone to be able to process payment for our tickets (I am native from Chile and i speak perfect spanish). We literally could have walked in without paying and no one would have noticed. They have activities for the kids. We tried to milk the cows. Followed the brochure that said that activity was at 11am. No signs so it took us some time to find the area. We got there about 1055a. A gentleman was cleaning the stall. We asked if we were in the right place and he told us someone would come to do the activity. At 11a he left. Another gentleman showed up to pick up some stuff at 1115a. We asked again and he responded in a VERY rude way that it was not 11a yet so that we needed to wait (they were several ppl in line and all of our phones were saying 1115a o close) he then left and didnt come back for another 10 mins. We finally did the activity. We tried to ride the horses.... well again, no signs whatsoever. Took us a little bit and asking alot of questions to find the place to ride the horses. There were about 12 kids PLUS a school group of about 15 kids. All there to ride ONE horse. That was it! They only had one horse "available". The canopy was great, lots of fun. Everything that didnt require a guide was great. So i was a little dissapointed with the price and low quality in regards to the service they advertise.

Hi my nae is Daniela. This mall is huge. A lot of brands, you can find a bit of everything. Prices are like in EU, not really local things but the surrounding zone to the mall looks very interesting
Divina D — Google review
This mall offers a large selection of brand names like Nike, North Face, Columbia, Gap etc. The pricing is higher than in US for certain brands and therefore I didn't buy anything. However, I liked visiting the Decathlon store, which is a discount sporting goods retailer and without any stores in the US. Overall I enjoyed the clean and relaxed atmosphere with enough benches and restrooms on each level. They have also USB ports and free WiFi for their customers. The Jumbo supermarket is a plus with a large variety of foods and reasonably priced.

Restaurant
Mestizo is a modern Chilean restaurant located at the south edge of Bicentenario Park in Santiago. It offers a stunning view of the park's green lawns, ponds, and palm trees. The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating with ample space heaters and blankets for cooler evenings.
One of My Favorite Restaurants in the World Eight years ago, I visited Mestizo with my parents, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I’ve remembered that day ever since and always dreamed of coming back to Chile just to go there again. Now, after traveling to over 25 countries, I can honestly say—Mestizo is still my top restaurant in the world. The atmosphere next to Parque Bicentenario is stunning, the service is amazing, and the food is unforgettable. The prices are also very fair for the quality and experience you get. You have to try the mascarpone risotto—it’s absolutely incredible. This place is something truly special, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Santiago.
Marina L — Google review
The food is variable, portions on the small side. Service is efficient if a little perfunctory. The bread we got at the start of the meal was dry and had been reheated. For this price point, I'd expect freshly baked bread. The key thing about this place is its lovely location by the park.
Fred K — Google review
Many people smoke outside so it’s not a good place to sit. Also many flies can be very disturbing. Traditional dishes are very good, but I don’t like the new dessert. Food is 5 star, service is okay.
Jesse C — Google review
Mestizo is a fantastic restaurant located right at Santiago's Parque Bicentenario. Sitting outside one can enjoy the fresh air and nature while enjoying perfect seafood dishes paired with great wines and beer. The staff was very attentive and friendly and this combined with the quality of the food and the lovely surroundings this restaurant is outstanding.

This was perfect for a larger group client dinner for a business meeting. Great atmosphere, good food, views, service. The staff were very attentive - thank you especially to Ivan E. for going above and beyond to provide excellent follow up support!
Mia H — Google review
Really enjoyed the experience. We were the only non-Chileans in the restaurant, which is a mark of quality in itself. Fried artichoke salad was light, crunchy, a great start. The grilled octopus was better than I anticipated. It was soft and crunchy. The peppers really helped liven up the flavor. The tre leches was thick and sticky and wonderful. The pineapple sauce that came with it was incredible on its own, but didn’t make a lot of sense with the tres leches. In any case, very good. We would absolutely go back.
Marco B — Google review
Es magnífico. I asked locals where the most special restaurant is in Santiago, and I’m grateful that they pointed me towards Mestizo. The seafood and duck dishes were spectacular, and the staff is gracious, professional, and friendly. The location must be the most beautiful spot in Santiago, and it was lovely to see the swans and water gardens while enjoying my amazingly delicious meal. I’ll be coming to Mestizo on every trip through Santiago from now on.

Mani A — Google review
Parque Arauco is perfectly situated next to the Courtyard by Marriott and just down the street from the Santiago Marriott. As loyal Marriott guests, my fiancée and I were thrilled to discover this mall within easy walking distance of our hotel. From the outside, the complex seems modest, but inside it unfolds into a spacious layout. You’ll find both large and smaller indoor sections linked by an open-air promenade, giving the mall plenty of breathing room and variety. We visited Parque Arauco at least seven times during our two-week stay, drawn by the wide range of shops and restaurants. Whether we were hunting for souvenirs or enjoying a leisurely meal, there was always something to suit our needs. The mall also boasts the closest Starbucks to both Marriott properties, which was perfect for our morning coffee runs. Security is visible throughout the complex, reflecting its popularity and steady crowds every day of the week. Although we always walked from our hotel, we stayed alert for the steady stream of cars entering and exiting the parking garages off Avenida Kennedy. While the Costanera Center is larger and Alto Las Condes feels more upscale, Parque Arauco won us over with its superb convenience and well-rounded offerings. We’ll definitely make it our first stop the next time we’re in Santiago

Very cool mall with an open outdoorsy concept. It is very high end with luxury brands all around it, but there are normal priced stores and restaurants too. It doesn't feel cold and uninviting as some malls in the same niche might be. It was worth a visit. Beautiful parks nearby and close to very good hotels in the city.

Great place to shop in Santiago. New and trendy with loads of options. They have a cinema as well. There isn't a supermarket however there are loads of restaurants and even more ice cream parlours. Safety seems to be a priority as there are always guards walking around, which is a good thing at the end of the day. Enjoy!

Nestled in the charming Lastarria neighborhood, Wonderland Café is a whimsical haven inspired by 'Alice in Wonderland.' This enchanting spot has quickly become a favorite for its delightful decor, which features an array of plants and vintage antiques that transport you to another world. The café's aesthetic is filled with intricate details like British-style china and mirrors, creating a magical ambiance perfect for tea time.
Wonderful cafe! The coffee and pastries are great! Also, they have a nice Afternoon Tea plate to share. The whole place is very in theme with Alice and Wonderland, and has several different fun decorated rooms. There is a gift shop on the top floor. It gets busy, so sometimes the service is a bit slow. They have a really nice patio too.

This was a fun place. It is equal parts funhouse and food. Speaking of the food, solid cafe fare that's perfect for a light meal. I wouldn't run back for the food, but would certainly return for the decor, costumed staff (lovely and spoke a good amount of English). Enjoy your meal, and then make sure to walk around this maze-like place.

There was a queue outside this place early Sunday morning when we had just arrived in the area from the UK. Thought this must be a good sign so joined the queue, as hungry. Had the brunch for 2. Huge!….porridge with fruit and nuts, breads, butter, jam, plate with eggs and bacon, blini’s with strawberries, fresh orange juice and great coffee. Fantastic service by the English speaking member of staff. Great atmosphere and you were able to walk around the rest of the house to see the Alice in Wonderland decor!

Short queue on a Sunday morning. Ambience was beyond imaginable, with very detailed and intentional decors at every corner. There’s a total of 3 storeys, with a spiral staircase to access the upper floors. It is pretty narrow so definitely not for those that struggle climbing narrow stairs. Food was definitely pretty average in general in terms of originality but it’s simple breakfast food done well. Each main dish comes as a set, with a juice, a tea or coffee, oatmeal with fruits and the main dish itself.

I was staying in the area for one day in Santiago. Having arrived on a morning flight, I just went to the closest breakfast place with decent reviews. It looked very promising from the outside, the wait to be seated was about 5 min. However, there are 3 stories and I was seated in a small room on the very last floor. The room was small, dark and not decorated much to be honest. Which would have been fine if the food was good. It was not. I got the scrambled eggs and bacon on a toast which comes with a coffee and juice. I waited for about 30 min for food (mind you this is just scrambled eggs and fried), it then arrived cold and the toast was too hard. The cappuccino also arrived lukewarm. Honestly the food just ruined the whole vibe. Then I went to find the waiter to pay cause no one was coming to our small room and he had the audacity to ask if I'm leaving a tip. Just a no from me. Mediocre food, questionable interior on the upper floors (I think the ground floor and the garden are nicer) and there also people filming everything everywhere. We had people come in to our small room and just film it on video🤦🏻‍♀️ Long story short, don't come if you're not a diehard fan of Alice in the Wonderland. If you are, get sitted on the ground floor/garden.

We went to a Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit and it was awesome. Ground floor had a 360 degree projection that was very informative and entertaining for kids and adults, and the top floor had mini replicas of some of Leonardo’s machines. It was great fun! And as we visited on a Sunday, admission was for free! (Voluntary donations)
Tamara M — Google review
The museum had an exhibit called DaVinci Experience. It was great. It shows in great detail (blown up images of paintings and drawings) his work. The explanations in this 30 minute 360-degree projection on walls and floor were in Spanish and English. The second floor has recreations of Leonardo's machines. It was super cool and instructive. Imagine his paintings blown up so that faces are 15 feet or 5 meters tall.
Guillermo L — Google review
A little exhibition dedicated to da Vinci. The outside is more interesting than the inside. The quick intro was only in Spanish. You enter this large room that runs a continuous sideshow and I was bored after a few seconds. I wondered to myself, is this it?! Then I saw some people sneaking behind the curtain at the back and I took a peak. There were two sets of stairs that led to the top floor, which contained a few simple wooden machines. It didn't contain much information and wasn't very interesting.
Jiny S — Google review
It's only $1000 CP to enter, but really a waste if time. Upstairs is more like a children's recreational area and ground floor is just reproductions of some well know paintings. I spent about 10 mins there before I left. You might as well just look at originals on the Internet. Very disappointing. It earns one star for the building itself.

Super place if you have little kids (4-10 yo?) they have lots of games and the kids will have fun for sure. Downside, the administration forgot to maintain walls and other things. The place looks like it's been left to run down, as if it hasn't been properly maintained in terms of...the awnings, the walls and roof look old, the paint is coming off...but to be fair, the machines (games) were in good condition and the safety for the children was adequate.

Excellent ice cream and sorbets, so good we have gone twice including a 1.4km walk from our hotel to and 1.4km walk back. Great staff and clean toilets upstairs. The sorbets are suitable for vegetarians. A few metres down the road is one of the pizzeria restaurants that we have been to, so main course Pizza, dessert ice cream. The Pizzeria was called Pizza Tiramisu.

Delightful spot, lovely ice-cream, wonderful service. Very highly recommended

It is a very good ice cream parlour in El Golf area of Santiago. The orange chocolate bitter is really something else. They also sell good expressos. It is not expensive and generally not overcrowded
Ernesto W — Google review
I liked the place but my experience was disappointing. I had the tiniest portion of ice cream I’ve had in Santiago, I ordered cafe flavour and the taste is just like a milk. For the price it def not worth it.
Olivia M — Google review
Fabulous ice cream! I don't feel a need to explore any more ice cream shops in Santiago. This one will be my go-to. The dulce de leche ice cream was incredible.

Shopping
The Arauco Mall is a brightly-lit, contemporary complex with a varied mix of retailers, restaurants and a movie theater. Some stores are currently closed, but there's still plenty to see and buy. It's located just minutes from Santiago city center, making it an ideal choice for shoppers on short notice.
Really good mall, lots of stores
Tothe T — Google review
A very busy mall indeed. Clean facilities with many stores and restaurants including a Jumbo supermarket.
The T — Google review
It is a nice mall, access to parking is some how difficult depends on the season and hours, I do suggest to get there early. Very nice restaurants indoors and outdoors. Try parking underground for safety. Around 8 pm if you are driving they start to close entrances with no signs or staff to let you know what exit to use.
MARTIN S — Google review
If you go early before rush hour and during the week this shopping mall is enjoyable. Not many people you bump into or children running around. So you can spend your money quietly or just window shop with no rush. It's near a metro station (line 5), it has a big supermarket inside etc

Visitor Centers
I visited the tourist information center called Plaza de Armas Tourist Office and joined the "tour de galerias" which took me through various passages filled with shops located inside buildings. These stores, many of them small family-owned businesses that have been around for more than half a century, were quite impressive. I particularly enjoyed the chocolate shop and stamp store. The tour lasted for approximately two hours at a relaxed pace.
They offer free amazing tours if you want to know more about the story about this beautiful country . usually start at 10am some days of the week depend of the content You can get also free maps Cerro Santa Lucia: Sunday and Monday
Paola B — Google review
We took the free "tour de galerias" tour of the many passages full of stores that are inside the buildings. Many of the stores are mom and pop. Some have been there for over 50 years. We loved it. The chocolate store and the stamp store were great. It was 2 hour long but at a slow pace.
Guillermo L — Google review
Staff were very helpful and welcoming. One of them showed us map locations of markets to get local food and where the bus terminal are for going out of the city. English was fluent too. There weren’t many pamphlets or sightseeing info that we usually see from other visitor centers so talk to the staff for all your questions. Remember to ask walking tour schedules too if you visit there.
MP L — Google review
Great walking tour! We did this morning the Lastarria one. Very interesting, great guides! Highly recommended.
Marta M — Google review
I asked for a good restaurant indication in the Mercado Central and they told me to go to "Tio Willy". That restaurant is not the worst in Santiago, but probably the worst restaurant in Latin America. I am very impressed that they would suggest such a disgusting place for tourists. If you read reviews of Tio Willy in Trip advisor, you will see many reviewers also claim the restaurant was indicated by the Oficina de Turismo. The restaurant is a de-service to human race and should be closed by "Vigilancia Sanitaria".
A B — Google review
Staff is very helpful and speak English. One thing to note is that their assistance on tourist questions is limited to Santiago and neighbouring cities such as Valparaiso.
Vipin — Google review
Great for getting a map but not super helpful with information.
Maika H — Google review
I recently experienced the free tours offered by the Municipality of Santiago through the Plaza de Armas Tourist Office—and I can’t recommend them highly enough! Each day features a different theme, allowing you to wander through the historic streets and learn captivating stories about Santiago’s heritage. The tours are completely free, making it an unbeatable way to explore the city. The guides are not only extremely professional and knowledgeable, but they also ensure that even non-Spanish speakers feel welcome (they’re willing to switch to English if needed). Below is a quick overview of the tour schedule (Title, Day, Time): • Santiago Step by Step – Monday, 10:00 a.m. • Route of Walks and Galleries – Monday, 15:00 • Churches Route – Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. • Popular Santiago – Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. • Discovering the Lastarria Neighborhood – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. • Yungay Neighborhood Tour – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. • Walking the Cerro Santa Lucia – Sunday, 10:00 a.m. I truly enjoyed the relaxed pace of these walks and the rich historical insights provided along the way. If you’re visiting Santiago, these free tours are an excellent way to immerse yourself in the city’s culture and history.

Established as part of an urban renewal project in the sixties, it offers a serene escape with its rose gardens, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, skate park, and ample green spaces. The park hosts top-class concerts and cultural events and is adjacent to the luxurious Parque Arauco Mall.
Beautiful park with so much to do for families! Skate park, skate ramps, exercise areas, and flower gardens. Plenty of space to let the kids and pets run around. Right across the street from the mall so easy access to shopping and eating.

Amazing park with modern buildings all around it and neighbour to some good malls (one very fancy one with high end brands and another more budget friendly one). It is connected to another park (a dog park) by a modern pedestrian bridge. It has very nice views to the snow capped Andes mountains and great sunsets. Perfect for a picnic with big lawns and shaded areas. It has good public restrooms too and a kids museum and eateries in the middle.

Falabella is a department store located in the upscale shopping mall of Parque Arauco. It features a great selection of high-end brands, making it a good place to pick up some necessary items or to find that one special piece of clothing. The prices may seem a bit higher than you're used to, but on sale it can be an excellent value.
Awesome place to go shopping, to walk around, excellent merchandises , good prices and a beautiful place and atmosphere.
Sebas B — Google review
This is a big department store where there is a bit of everything you possibly need but in most cases a bit more expensive than you expect to pay is you are coming from the US. That said we hit a great sale and were able to get some really nice pieces for a great price.
Noelle M — Google review
The locations, infrastructure, and products, make it an amazing chain. The main issue is the lack of customer service in these stores these days
Andres B — Google review
Good variety of products. The floor for cosmetics and women's clothes is way to bright. The lights are too strong and reflect off of the white marble floor and white walls.

A very good selections of brands. The mobile and computer section is also very good. Prices a bit high but you always find some itens in sale, with discounts. Here you can find luxury goods at a great deal. Go with time to walk through the entire store.

Mountain cable car
If you're seeking a delightful escape in Santiago, look no further than the Oasis Station at the Metropolitan Park cableway. This popular route offers breathtaking views of both the city and the majestic Andes mountains as you ascend to San Cristobal Hill. The park is a treasure trove of attractions, including a historic funicular from 1925, a zoo, lush botanical gardens, and even a children's park for family fun.
What a breath of fresh air from the hustle and delinquency you see in downtown. Indulge yourself. In beauty. Nature tranquility meeting people from all around the world that are decent and civilized in a very safe beautiful pictursec environment, panoramic views, all the way from the airport to the snow cap Andes Range totally value for money. Great day out the swimming pool. Was great full of energy full of security full of lifeguards. I swam at the deep end. As live life on the wild side.
Adel M — Google review
It's a neat place with walkways, hiking trails, and bike trails that head up the mountain. There are parks, gardens, and lookout points all along the way. There are also cable cars that will take you to each lookout level all the way to the top. There are plenty of shack shops and bathroom facilities all over. It's a pretty nice attraction.
Ian M — Google review
Nice park, with nice views, good place to go hiking or riding a bike. They have many places for kids and also the teleferico gives you a good view of Santiago, the Cordillera, and all. It is worth the visit. A good advice is to go early and enjoy the day there. They neighborhood seems super safe and you can leave with no worries when the park closes (around 7pm I think).
Paulo R — Google review
A great way to travel up/down between Provedencia and San Cristobel hill. You get some great views across Santiago to the Andes; with a good view of the Sky Costanera tower. There was quite a queue to get to cable cars but it was worth the wait.

I recently visited Oasis Station at the Metropolitan de Chile in Santiago, and it quickly became the highlight of my day. The Plaza Oasis, with its iconic fountain and bold STGO letters, set a lively, inviting tone that made every photo feel special. I enjoyed exploring the food carts and treating myself to some incredible artisanal ice cream at Delicatto café. The station’s thoughtful design—even features like the elevator ensuring easy access—made the experience smooth and enjoyable for everyone. In short, Oasis Station is a dynamic starting point for a memorable day at San Cristóbal Hill. It blends convenience and local charm perfectly, and I left feeling inspired to return soon.
Santanu M — Google review
If you're in Santiago, make this a place to visit! There are several options to get up the hill and the scenery is absolutely worth it! The cable car is fun and easy with very quick and affordable ticket options. Went on a Saturday and wasn't in line for more than five minutes.
Reva G — Google review
The station near to the entrance of the park is the starting point of the cable car. Visitors can buy tickets at the booth and walk to the platform to take the gondola to reach the top. A gondola can fit 6 people at most, sliding slowly and steadily along the ridge. One can see the big city through the window at the both sides! It is a nice tourist attraction recommended for travelers!
Matthew S — Google review
Not as modern as the SkyCostanera observation deck, but, in my opinion, a better experience overall, and if I had to choose between the two, I'd go for this one because it's cheaper and has just as nice views including of the Costanera building itself. Really worth it. Combine it with the funicular to Bella Vista, and you'll get yourself a nice full inexpensive experience at the park.

Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Ñuñoa, La Fraternal is a delightful haven for those seeking healthy and organic cuisine. This inviting spot features a lovely terrace adorned with bunting and surrounded by fragrant herbs, creating a relaxed bohemian atmosphere. Open since 2011, it offers a daily menu from Monday to Friday at an affordable price, which you can also enjoy on weekends.
Nice place to go with the family, we brought our childrens and there is a place that they can play with toys while you enjoy a coffee or an ice cream.

It was great, long time ago. Horrible service, poor cleaning procedures; hair in the food and 0 apologies nowadays. So, a terrible lost for people looking for alternative food. Do they become a rock star natural restaurante so they don’t need customers anymore?
Pablo B — Google review
This please is unfortunately really bad. We got the "pizza". It was old stale pita bread with uncooked sauce on top and oily onions. It also had salad with no dressing, or lemon or anything. Then they brought the drinks at the very end of the meal and they were also terrible. The appetizer we got was two pieces of crustless bread with cheese in the middle... it was bizarre. Go somewhere else if you are a vegetarian visiting Santiago.
