Terremotos were ok, but you can skip the maremoto. Food is standard Chilean fare but not well prepared and it arrived cold. Services bit slow. Atmosphere was ok but bathroom was a mess

The food was really good and the portion was generous! I enjoyed the live music. The only unsettling aspect was that homeless people would wander onto the patio or begin performances of their own, but the staff was always quick to take care of it.

Ordered terremoto for drinks and pichanga and arrollado for food. The portions are huge. We took our time to eat and the food was really good. It's a change of taste from fried or grilled style and we enjoyed them a lot. Very local and price was decent.

I was determined to have a terremoto before leaving Santiago so we trekked across town to La Piojera. The area is a little rough, I’m not sure we realized what we were getting into by walking there. However, the server was very kind and accommodating. No joke the terremoto lives up to its name and will make you feel the earth move. The beers are huge, much bigger than expected. We didn’t have the food so I can’t comment on that. We chose to Uber home since the area appeared to be a little rough, would definitely visit during the day.

This is one of the coolest bars Ive ever been to. It’s like walking into a museum of a bygone era and I loved every minute of it. The patina and characters that both drink and eat here as well as those that work here are timeless, overly friendly and are as unique as the place itself. I reckon they specialize in drinks that are mixed with wine that they have on tap. We ordered terremoto which is a blend of cheaper wine, pineapple ice cream with a float of grenadine. If I lived in Santiago I would go here all the time. A very nice man sitting next to us sparked up a conversation and said he has beeming coming here for 62 years and the reason why he is so healthy is the wine they pour.

We came here only for drinks and their Pisco Sour was fantastic! The staff are very polite and there was live music too. Must see place in Santiago!

It’s a historical bar with an interesting story regarding how they got their name. But the service by Marcelo is the best! He’s so friendly and energetic. They provide free bread with the amazing hot salsa. Of course you have to try their terremoto cocktail. We ordered a pitcher and we’re so buzzed! The food is good but Marcelo made the experience very special!

Finding good vegetarian food during my 2 week travel in Argentina and Chile was a struggle, so as soon as I saw an Indian food restaurant with good rating, I went there for dinner. I was not disappointed. The vegetable curry was very good, it came with rice. The samosas were a good starter. The price very reasonable. I can see why this place is very popular. It is a small place with few seatings.

A tiny joint with a good Indian food worth the try. The line is long since there are few tables, but you’ll be glad you tried it. For $9 bucks you get a curry of your choice, rice, nahan and a beverage

very tasty food! not super authentic, the side salad is a little disappointing and the naan isn’t super fluffy, but the lunchtime offer is a great deal, and the curry was delicious. i asked for the most spicy and it did have a little bit of spice, but still not super hot.

What a great meal. The food was authentic. Don’t be put off by the proletarian premises, the food is great. As a bonus the owner gave some of needy o the street a small meal package; we were deeply impressed and even offered to help by payment forward but they refused as they do it out of kindness

Amazing flavours, good portions and great value for money. They have at least 6 different curries with chicken, veg, paneer and fish. All curries come with rice and the breads are cheap. Not many tables but well worth waiting for if full.

From the moment I stepped into this Indian restaurant, I was captivated by the warm ambiance and inviting aroma of spices wafting through the air. The décor was a perfect blend of modern elegance and traditional Indian charm, featuring vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and soft lighting that created a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and hospitality that immediately made me feel welcome. They were attentive without being intrusive, patiently answering questions about the dishes and even offering recommendations tailored to my taste preferences. This personal touch set the tone for what turned out to be an extraordinary dining experience.

Good food but not many options. The salad that comes with the daily menu is underwhelming, but it is a cheap meal after all. The curry is nice, however you shouldn't expect a truly authentic Indian dish. The place gets crowded, so if you want to sit down make sure to arrive exactly at 12:45 when they open, otherwise you'll have to wait in line.

A really good experience of Chilean Cuisine. El Hoyo is out of the way of central Santiago but it’s worth a visit. Famed chef Anthony Bourdain once ate there so we decided it was worth making the journey. We attended at midday and it was very quiet we were the only ones there and was greeting by very friendly waiter. It soon filled up with other diner and a gentleman came with his guitar and plays some Chilean songs for us which added to the quiet atmosphere. Even though there was a language barrier he supported us with our order very well. I would highly recommend the Meat & fries dish for 2! The Meat was tender and the fries were done well. Each order comes with bread and condiments. We ordered a Chilean salad on the side which was very good. The wine & Pineapple ice drink was a treat and stronger than it looks! Definitely worth a visit if you are in Santiago!!

This place is quite out of the way so can feel a little stressful if you choose to walk there from Estacion Central, as we did. This should give you an idea that this little place is quite quirky and a proper off the beaten track, working man’s restaurant. It was good though if you are a big meat eater and if you like rustic food. If not the Terremoto (earthquake) cocktail is worth a try! It’s incredibly sweet, hence the name but actually quite enjoyable but not sure more than one is advisable!

After reading some great reviews, I couldn't resist checking out this place on my recent trip to Santiago. Situated in the lively Barrio Italia, Silvestre occupies a lovely and traditional Chilean house. With a brief and straightforward menu - my preference - I wasn't particularly excited about the food options. However, you never know, sometimes simplicity pays off. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. The food was decent, drinks were fine, but the standout element was definitely the relaxed atmosphere of the inner garden - a rare gem.

We stoped here while exploring Barrio Italia. Had a few Pisco Sours while enjoying the atmosphere in the back garden. Delicious drinks and hospitable staff.

Tasty porotos con mazamorra, nice and attentive girl from staff, you can pay vy cash or credit card. It’s nice to be seated in the garden, very nice place to enjoy your lunch. I wish juice could be freshly pressed but also ok - without sugar or other additives.

Lovely place to enjoy a variety of delicious plates! The food was really good. I tried the Dahl of Lentils and it was exquisite. Don't leave without trying the Key Lemon Pie.

The food is always amazing, great staff and really nice atmosphere. The restaurant is cozy and the decoration is interesting and suits the space. The fish was really tasty, but as the menu change I am sure they will always have something good on.

We got a Pisco education! Very fun place! Food was also great. If you are interested in learning and understanding about Pisco, this is a great place to go. We went during lunch time and were able to have a lot of conversation with our bartender about the different Piscos. We tried two flights, and learned a lot.

A bold little republic of pisco-fueled flavour and freedom. Walked into Chipe Libre expecting a tourist trap, walked out fully converted. The place is big—but doesn’t feel commercial. It feels curated. Think moody lighting, old-world maps, polished timber and the low hum of people actually enjoying their food. Ambience? Nailed. Service? Slick, warm, and unfussy. They know what they’re doing and make you feel like you do too. Not cheap, sure—but every peso earns its keep. I ordered the grilled steak, swapped out the fries for sautéed vegetables because I was full of bad decisions from earlier in the day. The steak came out medium-rare perfection, seared with confidence, no nonsense chimichurri, and a clean, earthy plate that let the meat shine. No flourishes. Just skill. And then… Orange cake with rocoto ice cream. Yeah, you read that right. Spicy. Cold. Sweet. Like a tango between a Peruvian grandma and a Michelin-trained madman. The cake was soft, citrus-zesty, restrained. The ice cream? A spicy slap in the face—in the best way. Unforgettable. Would I come back? In a heartbeat. Or a pisco heartbeat. Same thing here.

Good food and atmosphere. Service could be better given the amount of swirling staff. The shrimp tacos, excellent. The fish sandwich and beef sandwich were very good, and huge. The pisco sours were very good, but on the pricey side.

Fantastic place. Large list of pisco as well as pisco cocktails. Ceviche was great too. And the service was outstanding. Our server took a lot of effort to teach us about the pisco we were ordering.

The bar staff on Friday night were amazing! Loved their recos of the pork, pisco cocktail… and that chocolate brownie was one of the BEST desserts I’ve ever had!! And I’ve had a lot of desserts! Thank you 😀😀😀

Castillo Forestal is a great restaurant located in Parque Forestal Ruben Dario, surrounded by nature and decorated with nice wooden details. They have indoor and outdoor seating, plus a terrace on the second floor that can be used for private events. I went for brunch and was very crowded. I ordered the Brunch Versailles, which was just what I needed. The food was nicely presented, served quickly, tasted great, and was reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. However, after finishing my meal, I felt a little abandoned by my waitress while waiting for the check, which took quite a while to arrive. Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy good food in a peaceful setting. Just be prepared to wait a bit when it’s time to leave.

We went to this place for brunch and had a lovely time! It's a bit on the pricier side, but it's worth it. We ordered eggs and they were delicious. The atmosphere is great too. It's a nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Definitely recommend it.

Nice ambience, could be better. Location and setting are excellent, helpful staff. No English spoken, not totally surprising but we have found in most places in a major capital city it usually is so not certain how you'd get on if not a Spanish speaker. Menu via a QR code, no English version, no hard copy so bit of a faff to order. Chose what we fancied & screen shotted to gallery to show the waitress. Went for a medium rare entrecote but it was small & well done to be honest, had better burgers. My wife asked for a creme brulee desert but the waiter came back & said they didn't have any. Had to ask 3 times for our 'agua sin gas'. Musicians came in around 8pm as it was getting dark and did add to the nice relaxed vibe. So to sum up, very average food, no English spoken, lovely location and vibe in my opinion.

Welcoming service and a great location. We stopped by for lunch after visiting the fine arts museum directly opposite. Very pleasant ambience and the waiters spoke great English which helped with our terrible Spanish. Food was good, probably not wow, but did the job.

This place reminds me of Tavern on the Green in New York City's Central Park. Such wonderful ambiance. It's located directly across the street from the Palace of Fine Art museum. We had the beef bourginon and chef's cut steak (looks like a ribeye) along with the potatoes dauphin and tomatoes gratin. The steak was slightly overcooked for the ordered temperature, but not overcooked altogether. Everything else was heaven. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Our server was very friendly, helpful, and patient with our language barrier. I would return here when I'm back in Chile.

Such a beautiful venue. I ate here for a private event and they had us up in a private balcony that was spacious and had plenty of natural light. I got the ratatouille croissant, pesto gnocchi with roasted tomatoes, and a trio dessert sampler consisting of crème brûlée, chocolate manjar, and a mini fruit tart. Very flavorful dishes and perfect portions. The staff was also very attentive and friendly.

The recommended dish was the corn pie but I wasn't impressed. It's hard to describe this dish as a meal as it is a sweet dish. It was very tough to finish. I would recommend this more as a side dish for 4 to share in addition to savoury dishes. So much mixed feelings writing this. It isn't a bad dish but just unsuitable as a meal I find. There are chunks of chicken, meat, egg and olives. I definitely couldn't finish and wouldn't recommend as a meal. Other than that, service was fine.

Let me tell you…. I was recommended this fantastic restaurant by another tourist. Here you will be to eat traditional Chilean and Peruvian cuisines, with a variety of different gluten free dishes, the cocktails are delicious and so many different types. One can sit indoors or outdoors, I invited some of my relatives and we all enjoyed the food!!! I would most definitely recommend this restaurant!!!!!

Had my first pastel de choclo here and it was very good🍲. It's good comfort food 😊😂. Quick service, friendly staff. The staff managed to speak a little English to communicate with us. Overall a good dining experience and I got to see more of the local South America dishes. I recommend this restaurant if you want to try good local cuisine.👍👍👍

The service was excellent and the food was solid. I ate here with a friend and he wanted to mention that the Cazuela de Vacuno was the second best soup he had ever had (first being a classic chicken soup).

I really wanted to try choclo con queso while I was in Santiago and this restaurant came highly recommended - for good reason. The food my mom and I ordered (pollo al jugo and chocolo con queso) were executed to perfection. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the chocolo con queso was rich, had a crispy top, and was filled with meat and chicken and egg. I would have liked it if the inside was more evenly distributed but enjoyed it all the same! We got the chicken to go because the servings were so generous. We sat outside and unfortunately there were quite a few people smoking and very loud live music (the guy came around after he was done asking explicitly for tips and making people feel bad when they did not give him any money which in my mind is not polite at all as we did not ask him to play his loud music right by our table).

I tried the linguica sausage stew “Porotos con longaniza” and my husband tried the beef version “porotos con plateada”. Both dishes were delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. They gave a salsa with bread as an appetiser and we were very content with the prices. We sat outside whilst music was playing from a street band, they had candles and outdoor heaters, the atmosphere was truly tranquil. Would recommend if wanting to try Chilean food in Santiago!

A great classic Chilean establishment !! It was a pleasure being here. The food was delicious and everything left a mark ! The scallops with cheese was me personal favourite 🤩 the service was also attentive and friendly. Not sure how to describe the food --- a bit of Chilean/Italian mixed together. Definitely tasty, and a great wine list. Very laid back, and by far, the service stole the show.

Fun place. Service wasn't great because the place was full. We (4 persons) had congrio frito, mechada meat with spaghetti, merluza fish, ostiones= scallops parmesan, water, juice, all for 70,200 CLP or about 50 usd. All very good. (see photos).

Good atmosphere, great food and drinks. Staff were very friendly with plenty of recommendations food and drink wise. I tried a few recommended cocktails which were nice but the highlight of the meal was the recommended cake of the day "Torta de Hojas" which stole the show. Definitely recommend dropping in for a bite and good hospitality.

A disappointing gin experience. All the gin based cocktails we tried were very sweet. Tapas was quite tasty, but we think if tapas as small bites. Portions were very generous and for two of us we ended up leaving about a third of our dishes. Service was friendly but a little slow. A perfectly acceptable meal, but don't cross town expecting a great gin experience.

The focus of this bar is the Gin. They have a huge selection and a lot of options to make your own. Also they offer some nice and original cocktails. The food is very good and the vibes are quite cool. Rafa, our helper for the day was very polite and attentive. Overall the experience was great.

Drinks were great, had some a few. The food was okay although the dish called ".. Tzatziki ..." does not have much in common with Tzatziki. But still worth coming here.

This actually left me disappointed. The traditional Chilean eatery with street food style sandwiches on offer. Wasn’t a fan of- heavy on the sauce, and whilst large portions- lacking in flavour, it wasn’t for me. In addition service was very dismissive and unfriendly.

My chileno amigos in Australia recommended this place so I tried it out whilst transiting through Santiago. The service was friendly and I was seated straight away. The Romano was absolutely massive but that didn’t stop me from eating the whole thing. The place is an institution

Again, perfection! I can’t get enough of these sandwiches. I will miss them immensely when I go back to Canada. The perfect combination and quality and old school service. The beers are huge and the sandwiches are even bigger!

Got overwhelmed by the menu but managed to order the churrasco italiano (tomato and avocado and mayo and meat). Something about the way they made the meat is just amazing. Big portion and I saved half for lunch next day (they pack your to go sandwich very well). I love it and crave for the chance to try another sandwich. Came on a Saturday for dinner and did not have to wait and got seated at counter inside.

Expect a line but it moves very quickly. The Italian style churrasco was the best (has avocados on top) and one sandwich can easily feed 2 people. We also tried the Romano with farmer style with mayo, it was good too but not as good as churrasco.

The Italian sandwich was drowning in gallons of mayonnaise… also had avocado and tomato. Tomato was cut horribly uneven. Good luck figuring out what the different meats are or what goes on each sandwich. A total disaster for us ⚰️

Very disappointed considering this place has very good reviews. I ordered the churrasco with sauerkraut, tomato, mayo. The meat was bland, I don’t think there was any seasoning on it at all, and there was far too much mayo which made it impossible to eat properly as it made the bread soggy, the mayo was also completely flavourless. If you’re going to load it with mayo as least make it taste good. Overall just a bland, difficult to eat sandwich, really not worth the good reviews I’ve seen

Lovely cafe in very good location for business and tourists. Coffee and croissants were as good as general standard. Good value for money as we ordered bundle promotion.

The food was phenomenal. We ordered the set lunch ; appetizer + main + coffee & ice tea. The beef was so tender. Highly recommended and good value. The menu changes from time to time. Also, it gets busy during lunch from 1pm. May want to consider reservation.

A tasty surprise! A dear friend of mine chose this place to have lunch yesterday and reading about it now I realize that Salvador Cocina y Café is ran by famous chef Rolando Ortega, who made the pig his star meat. He opened a new restaurant called La Salvación (that I will be checking soon). The only downer: too noisy. I tried the Caesar Salvad salad and the polenta. REALLY good!

Solid choice for their lunch menu, offered daily with appetizer, entree, dessert and an iced tea for $10. Gets packed so come before 1 when they start lunch service.

We reserved a table for 12:30 and arrived a bit early, around 12:15. The waiter offered us to get seated and wait for 13:00, when they would start the lunch service, we accepted and ordered a chocolate picante and a Frappuccino. We then awaited until around 12:45 and ordered two tacos and some papas as entrantes, and two panitas y tallarines as fondos. The entrantes were served around 10 minutes after we ordered, and they were really great. As soon as we finished eating these, the waiter took away our plates and we awaited for the main dishes. During this time, the room filling itself, and got completely full in less than 15 minutes. People were talking really loud and it was very difficult for the two of us to talk to each other even though we were only at most half a meter away. We had to see every table around us (arrived much later than us) getting served, eating and paying before us, and waited one hour before getting served ourselves (with a single fast "sorry" by the waiter) a dish which was bland and nothing like the entrantes we tasted earlier. When we asked for the bill, we kind of expected the owner to make some sort of commercial discount to apologize for the very long waiting, or maybe just an explanation on why it took so long, but nothing happened. We decided not to leave any tips because of the poor service, but the waiter only got us a handwritten check, and we understood later that he typed in a 10% tip on the payment terminal without even asking. Very disappointed of this experience, especially because of the very good reviews we have been reading before going there.

Very nice place for really good food and wine. The wine by the glass is very convenient and their selection is well made. Downstairs seems nice, but we stayed upstairs.

Restaurant Baco: A Top Dining Spot We had an exceptional meal at Restaurant Baco! Even with a queue to get in, it was completely worth the wait. For appetizers, we loved the Steak Tartare and Pork Terrine. Our main courses, the Magret de Canard and Beef Fillet Medallion with Béarnaise, were perfectly cooked. We also enjoyed a refreshing Pisco Sour and their unique Wine Tea (red fruits with wine). The food was outstanding, and the service was great. It's clearly a fantastic restaurant – highly recommended!

OMG the best Raviolle I have had in my life. I am visiting Santiago, usually I dont go to the same place twice while I am travelling, I like to explore the options but I needed to except it and went back to Baco twice in a week. How great is everything. Favourite place in Santiago so far!

Excellent food for a good price. Great wine selection by the glass. Best oysters I had in Chile (so far). I also enjoyed the salmon tartar and the pan-fried reineta. Magret de canard was good, but not among the best I had before. Reservations are highly encouraged, but you can still get in line to get a table. It's a large and lively space. Highly recommended.

Me and my boyfriend went to this restaurant because of the amazing google review but we didn’t notice it was a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, when we got there we decided to stay but very discouraged AND what a surprise: the food was amazing, very tasty, different flavors and experiences, one of our best reviews in Santiago for sure.

This is a classy vegetarian restaurant that has a nice selection of vegetarian starters and main dishes influenced by different cuisines from around the world - for example Thai, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Indian and Peruvian cuisines are all represented. I had the hummus to start, the pumpkin soup and burrito as my main course and the crepes with ice cream for dessert. In addition, the restaurant provided a complimentary starter to all diners consisting of multi grain buns and a red pepper dip. All the items were delicious. The service staff were all courteous, professional and English speaking - the menu is also available in English. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The restroom was clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this restaurant to those that enjoy delicious vegetarian meals inspired from different parts of the world served by friendly staff in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Definitely this restaurant is a go-to spot if you’re into vegan and vegetarian food. The food? Amazing. Big portions and very flavorful. The Nuevo México and Falafel Al Plato are definitely worth trying—I’d go back just for those. They also have a bar with some creative cocktails. I gave the Diane Keaton cocktail a shot, but it was a bit heavy on the ice. They’ve got indoor and outdoor seating options. It does get busy, though. I went on a Sunday around 2:30 p.m., and it was packed, but that just shows how popular it is. Credit cards accepted. If you’re in Santiago and want some high-quality veggie dishes, this place is a solid choice.

Incredible vegetarian and vegan food in Santiago. They had a great selection of different types of foods, large portions, and delicious fresh juice. The staff were all very friendly and the location was gorgeous. Highly recommend!

One of the must visit places in Santiago! The portions are large and the taste quite nice :) We had the lomito normal with mushrooms and cheese, the Churrasco normal with caramelized onions and cheese, and of course large friench fries. The place looked really beautiful so I took a lot of pictures... Highly recommend it :)

Insane!!! Pure comfort food. Huge portions. Simply the best sandwich! Fresh homemade mayonnaise, great meat, and fresh toppings. Very much akin to a German beer hall! The ambience is so fun and totally a throwback. Tons of sauces at the table and antique’s hanging off the walls. If I lived closer I would come here as often as my heart could handle.

The view from the terrace is perfect and so was the service. The food here is very tasty. It’s definitely a must try in Santiago. I recommend to make a reservation ahead of time because after 6pm they get pretty busy and they won’t accept walk ins.

After saying to a waitress Rocio about the drink is too spicy and we can’t drink it. She just replied it was written spicy in a menu. No other solutions were offered, not friendly at all. And asked in the end: “any tips you would like to add to the check”? Of course no, such a bad experience. Visited today on 2d of May in the evening. Location is good and the view.

WOW! This is the place for some of the most amazing, well crafted cocktails in the city of Santiago! The staff here are so accommodating and took us early without a reservation to sit at the bar. We were in for a treat! Every dish was delicious and visually pleasing. The atmosphere is so elegant and perfect for a romantic date night out. I can not say enough amazing things about our dining experience here. 5 stars!

This is a proper sandwich restaurant! The portions are enormous and will likely fill you up even when ordering a 1/2 sandwich. Even the sopapilla order was enormous. There is a huge beer and drink selection, especially when you see the many different pisco cocktail options available. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and staff did speak a bit of English.

This is undoubtedly one of the finest dining experiences we’ve had on the continent. Service is excellent although can get a bit slow. The place is historic and old French style looking. Good choice in the menu. It's a good place for just only a tea or coffee also. It doesn't come cheap but it isn't too expensive either and the quality is quite good. It's close to centre town. Closest underground "Los Héroes". I recommend to try it out. It worked for me.

Very unique place, the best of the markets to visit and much more authentic than the tourist market. Also seems pretty safe because there is security inside. Can get all kinds of snack foods, vegetables, meat, fish, baked goods, coffee etc.

Great place to get fresh fruit and veggies. The news is full of it being dangerous but I go every Saturday and I can honestly say it is not. Surely there must be the odd pickpocket sometimes but it is quite safe. It's a vibrant place full of the local culture and really nice people. It's a must if you're in Santiago.

Place where locals buy food for good prices. If you are a foreigner use common sense please as there are thieves. If you put your phone in your back pocket expect to have it stolen but with that being said the prices for food are worth the trip.

Anything and everything you could possibly want you can find here. It is a huge market with hundreds of local vendors selling locally grown produce. They also have meats cheeses dried goods etc. They're also some food and drink stands where you can have a breakfast or lunch while you are here. As it does get very crowded be very aware of your surroundings keep your phone in your pocket and watch out for pickpocketers.

This market is full of locals all selling meat and vegetables. It's hectic and crowded with people always on the move. Overall, I felt pretty safe with moving through the crowds and there is security at certain spots throughout it. There is not as much food ready to eat as I thought, mainly raw meat and vegetables.

famous empanada place. comparing these to brasilian pastels the flavor is lacking. git the queso version here and cheese was bland and the baked vs fried added little flavor. service was great and I appreciatedthe old school atmosphere but I guess chilean empanadas are not for me.

Do you ever go someplace, look around and think to yourself that nothing has changed here since they first opened? Well, that's what stepping into Emporio Zunino feels like. Tourists and locals elbow to elbow at the counters all around, delicious empanadas (obligingly cut in half by the kind server who had so many in line behind us), a delicious peach juice and nostalgia for days. The cheese empanada was really delicious - hot and flaky. The empanada de pino nearly burnt my mouth with the piping hot filling. Pay at the counter and give your receipt to the man and enjoy the experience.

Located outside the market, this establishment has been serving delicious empenadas for decades. Quick service. Very reasonable prices.

Solid and famous choice for your empanada craving. They offer a pino, a cheese, and even have an pizza option. There's also fresh squeezed juice available if you want a drink. You go to an ordering booth to place your order and pay, then give your receipt to one of the guys behind the empanada counter who bring you your meal. Once that's handed off, nobody will check on you anymore. There are no restrooms here and it's a pretty small place given the popularity and crowd.

Stopped in to get some empanadas for a quick lunch while exploring the area. We split a cheese one and a pino. Both were very tasty. The cheese one was in more of a flaky, almost puff pastry type dough, while the pino one was in a denser more bready type dough. Would recommend both, but just be aware that you need to be careful eating the pino one, as it has olives in it that still contain pits. Definitely a fun place for an inexpensive, quick, but tasty bite.

Amazing experience. They make the best Pisco Sour in town. I tried La Mar and Mestizo but this place got the best! We ordered Ceviche and Seabass roasted garlic. Both were amazing. Ceviche was classic and probably better than other places. Roasted Garlic was missing some flavor but overall we liked it.

As most restaurants in this area, it caters to a specific (more affluent) clientele. While the space was nice and modern, I noticed the seat "leather" was very worn out. Not an issue for me, but it shows the place is starting to age. The food was great, particularly the "I popped popcorn" appetizer that comes with the drinks. Very addictive. The pisco sour was a bit too sweet for my taste. You should probably get a reservation if you are coming near peak dining hours.

This is by far the best Seafood I have tried around the world!!!! From start to end it was amazing! I loved the concept of choosing a fish and they make 5 different types of dishes from it ( appetizers, mains and soup) The food was so good that I am willing to fly back to santiago just to eat at this restaurant again!

Nice Peruvian restaurant. It offers a different approach on how to serve food. Basically, it is meant to share the food. From the long tables to the whole fish premise. The menu is brief. They focus on fish, but they also offer cow and duck meat. The fish is sold by weight and you usually can have 3 different preparations from 1 fish. The suggestions made by our server were great. No low points here. Very tasteful and the presentation is compelling. So, why not 5 stars? First, it is overpriced. You can get similar food quality for less almost everywhere else in Santiago. What you are really paying for is the 'experience'. However, such experience has nothing extraordinary about it. It is basically a way for high-income people to experience popular food. By this I mean, the sharing a table next to a stranger, the paper bib they offer to avoid stains, etc.

However, the mint lemonade ($5,490) was refreshing and the highlight of my meal. The service was friendly, but the staff seemed somewhat aloof regarding the menu options. Went to this market to get fresh fruits and vegetables. It's slightly cheaper than your usual supermarket. Just need to get through the sellers camping outside the market and bridge. A lot of the prices vary - have a walk around to see which ones are reasonably priced. E.g. overly ripened bananas are priced cheaper. Some shops have a min spend to use credit card. A lot of competitive food restaurants on the 2nd floor. Didn't give it a go.

DO NOT GO HERE AS A TOURIST! My partner and I were crossing the bridge towards this market yesterday and were robbed in broad daylight at 2pm. First someone ripped a necklace from my neck. Then another person tried to rip a bracelet that was barely visible from my wrist. We crossed the road to the other side of the bridge sensing it was really unsafe when three men approached us appearing to have guns under their shirts. They demanded our things and only left when I handed the bracelet over. There were so many people on the bridge watching but no one helped us. We only managed to get away when a couple in a car pulled up and told us to get in.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced meal the first floor food court is full of small outlets selling dishes from various South American countries

This market is the opposite of the market across the bridge. The central market is a more tourist friendly and expensive location that isn’t really busy or bustling Sunday to Tuesday. The De Abastos market is local, more rustic and more varied in items you can purchase and authenticity. The prices are also cheaper but tourists will stick out very obviously. Be prepared to be a topic of interest if you are not Chilean.

This place is an interesting and picturesque spot to visit when you are in Santiago city. Just on the other side of Mapocho river in front of Mercado Central. So it's up to you whether you have lunch in Mercado or Tirso de Molina. At Tirso you can find many fruits and vegetables stalls on basement, and on the first floor it's plenty of various restaurants with either traditional Chilean or Peruvian food. Even we can find a Thai restaurant in this section. The quality of the food is not really high if you compare it with other restaurants in this capital city, but I think that it's a nice experience to have a seat in this place. I've been there twice and enjoyed a "merluza frita con ensalada Chilena" (deep fried hake with tomato & onion salad) and a "Peruvian ceviche". If you decide to eat fish or seafood, ask the waitress for a "tecito frío" (cold tea/USD 2), that's in fact a cup ☕ of white wine that's not permitted to be sold there by the alcohol authorities. Go there and enjoy!!!

I ordered a fish roe on rice. It tasted nothing special, basically tastelessness, no seasoning al all. Rice was overcooked, just like congee, was very soft. My rice had two side dishes in it, Chinese cabbage kimchi and pickled daikon, it’s not worthy to pay for this dish.

One of the best meals I've had in Chile! The hot bibimbap was fantastic (they also offer it cold, for a cheaper price). It came with a starter bowl of egg drop soup, and several dishes of banchan (literally, "side dishes"), including kimchi, rolled omelet, bean sprouts, and what I think was pickled papaya. In the bibimbap bowl there were rice, beef, carrots, pickled cucumbers, and pickled onions. All topped by a fried egg. Add some of the sauces, stir, and enjoy!! I will definitely be back.

The food tastes great and the experience seems very genuine. As a foreign that doesn't speak Spanish or Korean it was a little dauting but it was all worth at the end. Very reasonably priced and great quality.

Best korean restaurant in the area, the menu holds a great variety of traditional food and everything is to die for. The only downside is the table service since if you're lucky you'll get the services of a young nice woman who will explain the dishes to you. Otherwise you'll get the other lady who seems to hate everything. But otherwise I would totally recommend it and the service is worth it if you want to enjoy some marvelous korean food.

Noticed that almost all of our national dishes are listed on the menu. Prices are ok. Staff is friendly service was quick. Very nice place to try or enjoy our national food. Parking is available across the park and nearby under the Municipality building. Great place Las Lanzas.

Food was good, tasty, nice presentation (best dish beef tartare). Cocktails nothing exciting to be honest, maybe I was expecting something more creative for the restaurant concept (i tried a sauvignon blanc which was part of the 5-course menu, the acidity is too high I do not recommend it). Friendly staff, the only problem was that they didn't have enough staff and the waiting time was very long (food and drinks).

I absolutely enjoyed my dining experience at Demencia. The staff were so kind and thoughtful, I even got approached by one of the managers and she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable/welcomed. The moment you walk into this restaurant, it feels as if you are being transported to an artistic and interesting scene. Highly recommend Demencia truly had me in awe!

A Disappointing Experience – Reservation Mishandled on My Birthday I had high hopes for Demencia in Vitacura, especially after they confirmed my reservation for a special occasion — my birthday. However, what followed was incredibly disappointing and speaks volumes about their front-of-house management. On the day of my birthday, I called to confirm everything was in order. I was told, “we’ll make it happen.” Hours later, I was informed last-minute that the reservation could not be honored. No proper explanation, no alternatives offered — just a flat-out cancellation on one of the most important days to dine out. As an American living in Chile, I can confidently say this is not the level of service I’d expect from any establishment claiming to be high-end. I’ve secured tables at top-tier restaurants in Miami and New York without this kind of amateurism. While I can’t speak to the food or ambiance (since I never got to experience it), I can say the customer service and reservation handling were unprofessional at best. For a restaurant aiming for excellence, the basics need to be solid — and sadly, they weren’t.

This place offers a different experience with its circus-themed vibe, as well as the quick shows happening from time to time over the night. Cocktails were great, great service, and food was just OK, nothing memorable. Prices are average for the area. Recommended for a drinks night with food to share more than for dinning.

Such a beautiful and nicely decorated coffee place, located just a few steps away from Plaza Perú (near Golf and Tobalaba subway stations). The quality of the drinks and food is amazing, especially the pastries and chocolate. Everything is so tasty and delicious. Service is goood as well. My favorite place in the area. Nice and let us park our bikes near the entrance. The service was great, fast and professional. I ordered espresso dopio and they initially brought a cappuccino, but said that they would leave it with no charge and brought the correct one right away. Very good for brunch the salty croissant 🥐!

Went to lunch. No more daily menu available so I ordered the onion pie. The order took long to arrive, It was very small and served cold. Ordered with water and total was above 12 usd plus tip. Not a good deal at all. The place is very nice, but would be difficult that I return to lunch here again.

Good food, not the best service. It's difficult to make changes on the.limited menu. Charge you extra for everything. Want vegan bread? Extra. Brown sugar? Extra. Although the experience was good, those things make angry.

I would agree with the generally positive reviews. Super creative plates that are also, you know, good; reasonable prices, cool atmosphere. Definitely worth a reservation and a try. That said I didn't find it to be in the same class as the top/similar restaurants in Lima and Bogota (which is ok, but since many will come here from the Top 50 lists, I want to draw the comparison) -- some of the dishes were a little less coherent/challenging to eat (like had four components without clear suggestions for how to combine). The mushroom ice cream dessert is a stand out.

I had a memorable meal in Santiago. The atmosphere was cozy, in a beautiful house, and I instantly fell in love with the décor. The food was both delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was excellent. My favorites were the wine and homemade bread. I’m so glad I came here—anyone who visits won’t regret it!

Just wow! Came on a Friday and had to come back Saturday it was that good. Good is incredibly inventive, well prepared and respectful of local ingredients and seasonality. The team really looked after us, pairing our meal with a natural wine from a small producer. The ambiance is charming. Would recommend over any other place we ate in Santiago.

It is a wonderful and unique experience I never had. This restaurant deserves a Michelin Star at least. I don’t eat cow tongue but their dish was amazing by the taste and quality. We ordered the albacore and it was divine. They make it with such love. Everybody must try, even vegans, hahaha…

Believe the other reviews- this hidden restaurant was our best meal in Chile! Staff are so passionate and friendly. The food was beautifully presented with a fun flare and thoughtful sourcing of ingredient. The menu is small and seasonal- offering modern interpretations of classic Chilean dishes. The vegetarian options were inventive - like a corn goat cheese pastel and crispy quinoa topped with beet puree with grilled watermelon and beets. The dulce de leche flan is amazing too!

I had a 10 course menu in Yum Cha with wine and tea pairing and i can strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a super tasty and relaxing evening :) the space is small and cozy which makes you feel like at home from the first moment. I was sitting at the bar and could watch from really close how the food is being prepared with love and attention. All served dishes were super delicious, with surprising waves of flavours coming with every bite. I left really full but not having feeling of heaviness in the stomach (its super rare and amazing!!). I also would never expected that different kinds of tea can go so well with different food. Every dish, wine and tea were also really well explained to me. I am happy that i took a part in this amazing food journey, everything (food, service, attention) were just amazing.

My most common thought whilst dining at Yum Cha was it seemed that China didn't know it was invited to dinner. Having travelled to most countries in Asia and being from Australia where there is incredible Asian/Chinese cuisine myself and my friend left the evening quite disappointed and our wallets empty. Having lived in Chile for 2 years, I'm aware the Chilean palate is less developed for Asian flavours but having read reviews from Westerners I had assumed we'd be ok. Unfortunately, we found only 1 dish of the ten really had punchy Asian flavours. The rest seemed like they wanted to incorporate Asian ingredients without knowing how to make them shine/complement each other. Two desserts had cucumber, which was odd but also the flavour overpowered any other aspect of the dishes. My friend got the tea tasting menu (20 Lucas) and the servings of each tea were miniscule, no more than 2-3 sips, whilst I went for the wine/tea mix (40 Lucas). The service was good, and the waiters could speak both Spanish and English. Overall, we both came away feeling that our most expensive meal in Chile certainly didn't match the price and we wouldn't go again. Having spoken to another Australian living in Chile, she also felt the same way about Yum Cha. Perhaps for the local palate it's a great spot, but for anyone wanting punchy Asian flavours, look elsewhere.

Wow it was spectacular! It is a gastronomic and cultural experience not to be missed when in Santiago. In a very intimate setting, the restaurant offers 10 course set menu of dishes that deliver with each bite, and just enough to make you curious for next dish. We had a pairing of 5 teas and 5 wines, which were alternated with each dish fitting perfectly to compliment the flavours of each dish. Impeccable service, exquisite cuisine and excellent wines and teas - I can only highly recommend as a must visit in Santiago.

Yum Cha was an amazing experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Santiago! Each dish and accompanying tea was beautifully presented by our waitress. This is a unique culinary experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone with open taste.

There are a lot of glowing reviews of this restaurant on here. However, I would draw everyone’s attention to Kat B’s review on here which was exactly our experience. I’ll start with the positive. The service was exceptional. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was a little cold but altogether very comfortable. Our servers were polite and explained the options well. We went for the 6 course menu, rather than the 10, and I’m glad we did. All the dishes were pretty unpleasant. There’s an abundance of seaweed and herbs and these were the overwhelming flavours, so much so that you couldn’t taste much of anything else. It just overwhelmed all the food and made everything bland and overly herbaceous. I’ve had tasting menus all over the world in 1-3 Michelin star restaurants. I have also travelled across Asia and live in Vancouver with one of the best Asian food scenes outside of Asia. This was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had. The wine pairings and tea pairings were good. But this doesn’t make up for the food. I honestly left 3/4 of all my dishes. Luckily, the pricing is reasonable. It’s only around $65USD for 6 courses and $100 for 10. But I would definitely skip this restaurant and experience. I will say, we’ve had a number of tasting menus in Chile, including Casa Mirador. I don’t think they really stack up to an international standard. I think it’s better to go for restaurants here that focus more on simple food done well.

After searching places to eat for my 20hr stop over in Santiago I found Yum Cha and even in my tiredness I’m so Grateful that I made it to dinner. I loved sitting at the bar and watching the kitchen. I had 10 courses which were all around seafood and tea. (I don’t like fishy seafood taste) so I was a little worried about the mussel dish but that ended up being one of my top favs. Please note this is, I think a converted house in a quiet dark street so don’t be alarmed like I was when the taxi dropped me off, there’s a sign and you just ring the door bell and you are let in with your reservation. I liked every single dish (except I didn’t eat all the seaweed on one!) ☺️ I had the tea pairings as I wasn’t drinking and that did not disappoint, I really enjoyed having every dish explained in details not only what it was but what flavours to expect. Highly recommend getting in to try this, note it’s only a small place so book in advance. I added a few photos not everything as you may want to have a few surprises when you arrive. I hope that when I’m back end of Sept I can visit again. Thanks to all the wonderful staff who connected with me beforehand via what’s app to answer any questions I had. And everyone on the night. Upon discovering Yum Cha listed among the top 50 Latin American restaurants and reading all the positive reviews, my partner and I decided to give it a try. However, our experience wasn't as expected. We went for the tea and wine pairing, which had its highs and lows, and while the food looked impressive, it didn't quite deliver the bold Asian inspiring flavours we had hoped for. The service was decent but didn't match the stellar reputation, with no request for feedback and minimal interaction with the chef. While we appreciate the restaurant's concept, there's room for improvement, especially in packing more flavours to the dishes.

We chose to sit inside a outside was almost full and quite noisy (a good atmosphere though). The pizza was good, good service, enjoyed our meal.

Very good food for excellent price. The price is relative to what one would pay in USA. For Chilean prices, it's not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. They have a set menu with only two choices for each course. And both are excellent.

We had dinner here as a group of four. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance and the service was truly excellent — both aspects deserve a solid five stars. However, the food was noticeably too salty across multiple dishes. We politely mentioned this to our server and asked if the chef could reduce the salt in the upcoming courses. Unfortunately, the dishes that followed still came out quite salty, which made it hard to fully enjoy the meal. The presentation was elegant, and the ingredients were clearly high quality, but the seasoning really overshadowed the experience. With better balance in flavor, especially in saltiness, this could have easily been a five-star meal. A visually stunning place with lots of potential — just hope the kitchen listens a bit more to customer feedback.

I need to start by saying that the food was outstanding, service was very friendly and attentive and I would very much love to give them 5 stars but, unfortunately, there was a wee hiccup. We went for the 4-course chefs choice menu (which I'd highly recommend), which is supposed to be tailored to your appetite level as well as preferences in terms of flavor. I specifically asked for slow service. The amuse bouche and my cocktail, the karai boulevardier, have set my expectations sky high. Then came world class ceviche with a twist. Then the problems started because second and third course came at the same time, the fourth course followed shortly. Now I would not say that it ruined the experience for me but it definitely was a huge letdown. I don't know what failed there, after the third course was served I asked if it's possible to slow down but I was told that the kitchen already fired it and it was too late. In the end all 4 courses were served within one hour which, for a fine dining experience, is way too fast. Small technical issue to iron out and then the five stars will be well deserved.

Wow, I needed a light meal before an expedition to high altitude the next day. This place did not disappoint. Amazing ceviche and the most tender Pulpo/octopus I have ever had. Don’t miss this little Asian fusion gem hidden away from the wandering masses.

Amazing!!! We did the omakase course and it’s 10/10. My only feedback is please tell your guests that you can share as portions are large! In the states, omakase is usually per person and smaller portion so we were surprised that each course was full size

For starters, please note this is at a W Hotel. I prefer more of an independent restaurant setting. I was a solo diner and offered only a seat at the sushi bar. While this is fine for some, I was really wanting a table to fully relax. They had five 2 tops available but refused to seat me at one. While I understand them wanting to save them for parties of two, they have to use better judgment. It was late enough in the evening and it wasn’t that crowded. I did ask them a second time to for a table before giving up. they lost a customer….

I recently booked a table for eight at this restaurant, specifically requesting the chef experience. The staff exceeded our expectations, delivering an impeccable service. Each dish was beautifully presented, much to the delight of my guests, who were thoroughly impressed and expressed interest in returning independently. The highlight of our evening was the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Michelle. This restaurant has certainly earned my admiration and recommendation.

A solid 9/10 experience, a 9.5 consider the price range since a similar experience in NYC and SF can easily cost 4-5 times or more and food may not even be as good. It’s a Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant and if you are familiar with the culture down here, this is actually a very authentic Chilean/Peruvian style of cuisine. We had the Omakase (not on the menu but please ask for it if interested). The food at its core is really a pleasant surprise. We were amazed by the complexity of the layers of taste and texture. The dishes are full of complex flavor profile but nothing is overpowering, besides 1-2 dish I found it a bit saltier and can incorporate some citrusy or sweet flavor profile. A lot of compliments I can provide to the dinner experience but let’s just leave it as it is and for you to figure it out more. Our attendant Manuel was also extremely professional, kind and friendly. We joked a whole birthday situation and he was willing to play along without making us feel awkward.

Bustling central market with plenty of fresh produce and seafood stalls. The surrounding restaurants clearly cater to tourists, and some of the sales staff can be quite pushy when trying to get you in. Still, it’s a lively spot to grab a cold beer and some snacks while soaking in the atmosphere.

There was an abundance of fresh seafood for selection, we ordered abalone, King Crab, Macha-Chilean razor clams, scallops, and more. The menu was in Spanish, and my wife used picture menus and body language to communicate with the waitress. We were quite satisfied with our meal. Then, while walking around the market, my wife's wallet was stolen without her awareness. The wallet contained some cash, and several credit cards. We then had to scramble to report the theft, which was a quite disappointing experience.

We are extremely experienced travelers and aware of the typical snatch and grab and pickpockets but this was on a whole other level. We are very physically capable and we did chase the guy that ended up with my purse but the entire crowd "mob" came against us trying to trip my husband, kicking him and trying to pull his pack off and steal his phone while he ran after the guy. I got blocked by the mob and had to curl up on the street like a hedgehog to keep men from wrestling my phone away. I bit one of them. They were trying to pull my mom's fanny pack off and she punched one. They only got my purse and had to aggressively wrestle it away from me and break it to get it. This was far beyond a snatch and grab. THIS PLACE IS A DEN OF THIEVES!!! I've been to 55 countries and have never seen anything like it. The authorities are aware of this and do nothing!! Rampant corruption here!!! Posting photos I made for visibility because all the NUMEROUS reviews that mention being robbed are not very visible. On another note, the fish market itself was fine and the chupe was great! We came back inside here to cancel credit cards in a "safer" place. Might not be great if you aren't used to being harassed by vendors though, but if you are experienced its not too bad really. On a scale of 0 to Egypt I'd give it about a 6/7 as far as vendor harassment goes, not too bad, very manageable. But totally skippable and not worth getting MUGGED for sure. Wasn't a very good market to be labeled a "central market" and its only fish.

It's an interesting cultural center, with many expositions that change over time. Your can also come to see movies, theatre plays and concerts or musical events. It has a coffee shop inside, which offers different hot and cool brevage options and pastries

It was brilliant! I went there to attend a Scott Henderson concert, and the venue was just great and so was the concert. I've never been there before and didn't expect much of it but the wooden interior, comfortable enough seats with good leg room made part of a memorable evening.

Beautiful place, a tad expensive however. The cafeteria's a bit expensive, the male's bathroom is in terrible conditions. Some mirrors are vandalized, one of the bathroom doors is gone, some of the stalls have no paper dispenser and the lids of some toilets are either falling apart or on the ground. Reaching the place isn't hard, but I'd really suggest just going there for the show rather than staying a while.

I just watched 'Pinochet, la obra censurada en dictadura' and it was amazing. The whole place is very welcoming, friendly and full of cool people. I really want to go and see all the exhibitions and some other plays. There is a lot going on there! There is a hipster vibe in the area that I loved.

Nice old storage building from the rail days, good exhibitions, concerts and performances. Short distance from Quinta Normal park. Entry is free but some performances carry a nominal fee. Check the website which btw is very complete and well done.

The theater is a great place for musical events, plays, conferences and other kind of presentations. Capacity +- 500 persons. Near Quinta Normal and Estación Central Metro stations. Just be sure and try to skip late hours alone, as the neighborhood can become "unfriendly" when the sun goes down.

We were in for such a treat! I never knew Negronis could be this creative and delicious. We sat by the bar and were immediately greeted by Inaki, who poured us a glass of water while explaining the menu. The decision-making process was easy as I went by the boozy indicator on the menu! I enjoyed the XOCOLlAT, and my friends enjoyed their drinks too (unfortunately, I forgot what they got).

A well-known cocktail spot in the city. They make quality and classic cocktails and have good outdoor seating. As their name implies they have seven (7) variations of the negroni! I ordered the Baconvardier, which they describe as, a strong and sophisticated Negroni using fat-washed bourbon whiskey and a bacon garnish. Highly recommend!

Best cocktail bar in Santiago. Absolutely wonderfully trained staff and specially bar staff. The drinks are incredibly good, with a great local taste.

Siete Negronis is a very interesting bar, obviously the namesake cocktail of the place is the star but it has much, much more to offer as me and a friend found out last night while enjoying a fantastic evening there. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and then escorted to the bar itself, our bartender Catalina did an incredible job figuring out our tastes and which cocktail would be appropriate for each of us, my friend is more on the sweet and sour side of drinks but I do prefer smoky whiskeys and such. I had the house Negroni first made to perfection but then Catalina suggested to go and try the “Del viejo Continente” cocktail and I loved every sip of it, she prepared a “Banana bliss Daikiri” for my friend and I was amazed of how different and unique those two drinks were when compared to each other, Catalina has a bright future on hospitality business. To be added to the World’s 50 best bars is not a small feat and Siete Negronis proves to be more than worthy of being included on the list.

Great bar and friendly staff! Awesome selection of drinks and all are amazing. The music is wonderful if, you love oldies which I do. They have a small food menu but the cocktails are their main focus. The negronis are GOOD!! For the smokers, there is a separate room inside just for you.

I think the food there is very amazing!!!! The place where you can enjoy trustable chilean traditional food. However, I think it is a little bit overpriced, since it cost me 18000 for one pasta, one salad and coke. I think it is still a good place to try out traditional food!!! The pasta with beef tongue is interesting haha, it taste good but i suggest to cut the tongue into small pieces rather than the whole three tongues lol

Updated, please read till the end for post check-out experience. Room was terribly disappointing. No privacy in the toilet, the door is literally see through. Sink leaked and got everything wet, same with the shower, water poured out even with the door perfectly closed. Room was not serviced in a day and a half. Breakfast is sub par with the eggs showing signs of fungus. Update: while all the above remains true, the hotel showed a remarkable willingness to take responsibility and offered fair alternatives to compensate for the experience, which is something most establishments don’t do and for which Pettra deserves praise. I sincerely hope my experience was not representative of what they can offer.

My 8-day stay at this hotel was marked by serious problems that completely disrupted our experience. 1. Lack of Wi-Fi: Initially, we stayed on the fifth floor, where there was no Wi-Fi signal. After complaining, we were moved to the second floor. 2. Noise from Employee at Night: From the first day, we were constantly awakened by loud noises occurring between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. We discovered that the person responsible was a hotel employee, who remained in the outdoor area of the restaurant watching videos on a mobile phone at a very high volume. We reported this issue several times, but it continued to occur, despite promises that it would be resolved. The noise caused significant disturbance, disrupting our rest and affecting our entire family. I have photos documenting the situation, which highlight the staff’s lack of concern for the guests’ well-being. I expected much more professional and organized service. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. The cost does not justify the overall lack of quality.

Yesterday I reserved the hotel. I checked in as planned without trouble and stayed to be rested. The incident happened 11:00PM, someone opened the door of our room 202 at the hotel. Luckly we put the door stopper before sleeping and the person could not enter passing through the door. I called consierge to know what was happening, they said that other customer opened the door by mistake. Said Sorry, and that was it. Which is absurd that the whole system this hotel has is connected and open whatever door people want to open. We felt very unsafe of the place and left without paying, At the lobby with our bags at 11:15PM, we said to the desk that we are going to check out. Asked how will I pay, and I said I won’t pay. Replied by “ok, I cannot force you to”. And let me go. Please beware when staying at this place. Update: As of February 25th, they have nulled the payment. There has been no charge.

First impressions are everything...when that first impression is a surly front desk attendant telling you that "you room is not ready" but "if you pay for an extra night we can get you into one," you are off to a bad start. After an overnight flight, this is what we were told at 10am. What could have made the situation far better would be - "your room isn't ready yet but can we offer you a table in our restaurant?" Or, perhaps, "there is a good coffee shop down the street, can we store your bags and call you when your room is ready?" Nothing. In fact, we had to ask to store our bags. Poor hospitality and, apparently, poor leadership. This was the only bad experience that we had in Chile. Such a shame.

Upon check-out after an otherwise fine four-day stay, I was told the invoice could not be printed out, but would be sent by email the same day. It has been five days, and I haven’t received anything. I have called the hotel around 50 times, but no one picks up. I wrote to their customer service chat repeatedly, but received no answer. That is an unacceptable level of customer service. ML

One of my worst experiences with a hostel. The moment we walked in, we could hear loud music blasting. Which was welcome, since it was only 9pm. However, after noticing that we could still hear the music from our room quite well, we asked the staff when quiet hours were. They laughed and told us the music would stop when the bar closed, around 2am. We asked if the bar had the same hours every day, as we had an early flight the day after, and were told yes. On top of that, the bathrooms were dirty and the showers flooded. When we walked downstairs at around 11pm, with music still blasting, we noticed that the only people partying at the “party hostel” were the staff, who were playing beer pong on the clock. We asked for a refund or partial refund for our second night at the hostel, since we decided to stay somewhere else to get enough sleep, but were told “it’s not happening,” which we thought unfair since there was no mention of the music playing until 2am on HostelWorld. He then offered to move us to a potentially quieter part of the hostel, however, it seemed like there was no guarantee, since there was a club next door. We hadn’t been offered a different room the night before, when we asked about the quiet hours. We were talked to in a patronizing way by multiple men in the staff, who told us it was a party hostel and brushed us off. However, again, no one was partying besides the staff, since it was a Wednesday. To top it all off, the front desk lady was racist towards one of us. She told us the neighborhood around the hostel was sketchy, but “you would know, since you are from Brazil”. Overall, terrible experience with the staff, would not recommend to anyone who wants sleep, especially for young women.

We arrived to La Chimba at approximately 3am after a long travel day. When we arrived, the music was still playing at full blast, despite there only being 4 people in the bar/reception, two of which were volunteers who checked us in. We were told the music would go off in ten minutes. When we went down to ask for it to be turned off/down, they turned it off as we were approaching and tried to pretend it wasn’t their music. It finally went off at 4:10am. The music then turned on again at 8:15am. Our room was directly above the speaker so this was not ideal. When we asked for a refund the next morning for the remaining nights we’d paid for, we were told this was not allowed. Instead, they moved us to a supposedly quieter room. Although slightly better, the music on Friday night was still extremely loud from this room and played again until 4am, making it very difficult to sleep. On hostelworld, it is not clear that this is a party hostel. To avoid future disappointed guests, the hostel should be more clear about what kind of hostel it is. Especially as the volunteers told us it was a party hostel when we asked for the music to be turned down (as if this was a known fact). This would therefore attract people who would actually enjoy the hostel, especially as the facilities were quite good. There also appeared to be no members of staff who were on a salary, only volunteers. This made it difficult to sort the issues as it felt like there was no one on site who could make a final decision. Furthermore, the volunteers were often the ones partying until the early hours of the morning.

Really enjoyed it here! all the staff are nice and the hostal has everything you may need from sim cards, wall adapters, and a bar. So many showers all with their own toilet, many different common spaces, and some cute cats! I stayed towards the back of the hostel and it was so quiet. I was impressed with even being on the club and bar street, in the back it wasn't even a concern. I did hear from some others that if you are above the main office, it is much louder so that's something to consider. Location is a blessing and a curse, it's so close to many wonderful restaurants and bars/clubs but at night the streets can get overwhelming if you're alone. The hostal felt very safe though regardless and I will definitely stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel overall. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was nice. The free BBQ on Sundays was also really great! However, the neighbourhood that the hostel is situated in has a reputation for being unsafe, with multiple phone thefts occurring in both day time and night time during the week I stayed there, including my own. The hostel even has a heavy metal door, and you need to ring a bell to enter or leave the building… this highlights the safety concerns in the surrounding area.

This hostel is truly amazing, fostering great connections among people and boasting incredibly helpful staff. It's definitely a place worth staying at. Great location - just around the corner from bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes etc! Staff and volunteers are brilliant- super friendly and helpful. The vibe is really social but can only be nice and chill. Every night there are games, activities, free shots etc! The rooms are quite far away from the common area so it’s great for getting a good sleep. Fantastic for solo travellers. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.

The room was good & the hostel was clean however on the night we were there they played EXTREMELY loud music downstairs. We are used to loud music, especially from party hostels but this was so loud you could literally feel the vibration in the rooms above. The neighborhood it's located in is a little sketchy at night and mostly surrounded by clubs. It's mich nicer to stay in some of the other areas like barrio Italia or providencia. Otherwise the hostel itself was fine and they were very helpful on the front desk :)

with all the new pizza places sprouting, Domino's become the last alternative since the quality was just average. Years passed and they stepped up their game with tasty well cooked pretty pizza pie, there is actually cheese in the pies now. too bad that management set an out of reach goals, so the guys running the place have to lie to the technology embedded. I received a SMS, email and almost a phone call telling me that my order was ready to pick up. when getting there my order was just making in to the furnace, and the integrated system was harassing me for a opinion on the place, staff, delivery time, looks of the pie and overall flavor. waited another 20 minutes and sure wasn't a long wait but I had to jump off away of a meeting to get the food that wasn't ready. lucky me, the food was good and did resume the meeting after. was a good meeting. will meet again. tldr, good food, the staff is under pressure, ask for delivery.

A great representation of the Wendy's chain... good food, decent service (but be sure to double check your order before you leave). The chili is to die for considering there are no other chili options in Chile. This location is beautiful, and with 3 floors, gives a nice view of this bustling part of Las Condes.

Terrible, horrible waiting time, staff is not trained on customer service, we went for a simple shake and they mistreated us and made us wait longer than the other customers that were behind us, the shake wasn't even that good either, not worth the wait or the bad moment we had, never coming here again

Nothing much as a standardized fast food chain. If you're a tourist, show your passport ask for the 10% discount. There's a notice on the window but the attendant doesn't say anything. When I asked for the discount after paying, the manager didn't give a damn.

Regular fast food, similar in quality and price to McD or BK. Tasty burgers but nothing special. Fries are ok. CCU drinks (no Coke brands, only Pepsi, 7up, Crush, diet versions). Preparation takes some 5-10 minutes after ordering. Place is big and clean, 3 stories, lots of tables. The most expensive meal (burger+fries+drink) costs around USD 9.

At least two people at a time sorak English. If you are an expat seeking a taste of home this place will " take you back"! Great food, clean place and nice employees!!
