Yellow Crane Tower, a reconstructed 5-story tower standing at 168 feet high, is a revered landmark in Wuhan. Originally built during the Qing dynasty as a military watchtower, the current building was erected in 1981 and has become the pride of the city. The pagoda features traditional Chinese paintings and calligraphy, decorative lamps, a souvenir shop, and a showroom modeled after ancient Chu-style sitting rooms.
黃鶴樓 is undoubtedly one of the most stunning traditional Chinese towers I’ve ever visited. Its architectural grandeur is awe-inspiring, both during the day and at night. During daylight, the intricate designs and vibrant colors stand out against the sky, while in the evening, the tower is beautifully illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere. Climbing the stairs to the top was absolutely worth it—the panoramic view of Wuhan from above was spectacular! You can see the city’s skyline, the winding Yangtze River, and the surrounding landscapes, making it a perfect spot for photography and reflection. To my delight, there was also a cultural performance in front of the tower during my visit. The traditional music and dance added an extra layer of charm to the experience, making it even more memorable. Whether you're a history enthusiast, architecture lover, or simply looking for a picturesque place to explore,黃鶴樓 is a must-visit. I highly recommend it and would gladly return!

First time climbing Yellow Crane Tower, I fell in love with Wuhan ❤️ I came here by metro from my hotel — it was a bit far, but Wuhan’s metro is super convenient and comfortable. The entrance ticket is ¥70, and I highly recommend buying it online in advance, especially during holidays, because the queue for on-site tickets can take forever! From the tower, I saw Tortoise Mountain TV Tower, the Yangtze River Bridge, and the stunning skyline of Wuhan. Took so many photos 📸 This city is truly full of history and life — I really love it here!
Lilly R — Google review
It stands majestically at night with all the lights that makes it more beautiful! A must visit when you go to Wuhan. This was also featured in the 2025 Spring Gala Festival where OneRepublic performed "Counting Stars". Will definitely recommemd to see these gorgepus attraction in Wuhan

Reconstructed inly 40 years ago and on a different hill than the original, the yellow crane tower remains a must see in Wuhan. The stupa at the entrance is the only one in the city and the tower itself has been rebuilt according to the original design. Great view from the top and a nice park to walk around !
Tony B — Google review
The location is excellent, in the center of the city. Easy parking, short walking distance to the tower. Beautiful night scenery, but it's hard to get to the top of the tower during summer break, too many people.
Yan R — Google review
Too many stairs also one-way. Slight state of disrepair Able to see 'the whole of china' What's meant to be made of wood is not made of wood PS. there are nets in case you drop your phone and stair guards to prevent slips and reduce falls
Hjsa D — Google review
The Yellow Crane Tower (Huanghelou) is undoubtedly one of the most iconic landmarks in Wuhan, and visiting it is like stepping into a living piece of Chinese history and poetry. Perched on Snake Hill along the Yangtze River, the tower offers not only stunning views of the city and river below but also a rich cultural experience that blends history, architecture, and legend.
Sam I — Google review
A lot of steps within this area so it is not wheelchair-friendly. I recommend you to buy a ticket for back & forth shuttle for 10 Yuan per person to reach the tower which is very convenient. There is a Millennium Bell and small part of ancient wall across the pagoda. The tower has an elevator for elders and disabled persons but you need to ask officers there to use it. At the ground hall, there is a giant ceramic painting of a yellow crane that everyone must take picture with. On the upper deck, there is a beautifully painted ceramic hall in green color with 4-sided outdoor terrace, with stunning views of Wuhan city and Yangtze River.

Wuhan International Plaza is an upscale high street featuring a wide array of international brands, making it a prime destination for luxury shopping. The mall is renowned for its high-quality goods and posh atmosphere, offering visitors a top-notch retail experience. With kind and helpful customer service, it's considered one of the best malls in China, ensuring that patrons have a pleasant and satisfying shopping excursion.
Huge commercial center with 10 floors. Inside you find international cooking and international shops. They say that is tax free but be careful because not all the shops are duty free.

Bob K — Google review
Staff are very ignorant and narrow-minded. They do not understand that cashless payments by the institution that they bear the logos could come internationally with no need to be a Chinese to use those such as Union Pay card, Alipay, and WechatPay, and also VISA cards. When it comes to Mastercard, the staff opened up their manual and saw Mastercard's older logo, so they refused the current card with the 2 orange circle logo without the word "Mastercard" like the old logo. We had to wait half an hour for the Supervisor to come and tell off their cashiers.
Kraiwal K — Google review

The shopping mall's central atrium features a 25m kinetic sculpture made of 1,842 aluminum leaves. The food court's longest line is for a 1930s-style hot dry noodle stall. Luxury stores hide behind facades that replicate Hankou's historic buildings.

Subway station
Hankou Railway Station in Wuhan, China is a historic transportation hub that has been renovated to offer modern conveniences. The station is well-connected with Metro Line 2 and underground access to the railway station, making it easily accessible for travelers. Unlike the crowded and disorganized Wuchang railway station, Hankou offers clear signage, helpful customer service, and a retro yet grand atmosphere. This large terminal combines Chinese and Western architectural styles, providing a unique and impressive experience for visitors.

Way much better than Wuchang railway station, which is often disorganized and crowdy. The signs and arrows here are both clear to see and easy to follow, customer services are warm and helpful, too.

Mark H — Google review
(Translated by Google) The current Hankou Railway Station was built in the 1990s. The appearance of the station building that opened in 2011 inherits the shape of the old Hankou Station, and its appearance is similar to the European-style Hankou Station completed in 1903. Hankou Railway Station has a long history. It was originally named Dazhimen Railway Station. In the late Qing Dynasty, the Westernization Movement pioneered the idea of building a terminal station from Beijing to Wuhan. The station was not used until 1991, when it was replaced by the current Hankou Railway Station.

(Translated by Google) 1. Wuhan’s Hankou Station is at least the train station with the worst traffic I have ever seen. 2. There are often no taxis. You will find it incredible that there are no taxis at urban stations. This is the case at Hankou Station. 3. There is only one taxi lane in Nuoda’s train station. You must learn from Nanjing South Railway Station. The taxi waiting area of Nanjing South Railway Station is larger than that of Hankou Station (a bit exaggerated) 4. Let’s talk about the taxi waiting area. In the summer, there is a smell of urine. Even if there are several big blowers, the smell is still strong. Without the blowers, people will suffocate. 5. Let’s talk about the food. There is a noodle shop on the right side of the entrance. I’m not saying it’s delicious, but that it’s spicy. I couldn’t eat less than a third of a bowl of noodles because it was too spicy. Yeah, it’s so spicy. You should at least warn me. 6. There are golden arches inside and outside the station. Let alone the golden arches, you don’t know what they are. (Original) 1.

Somerset Future Center Wuhan is a newly opened service apartment located in the Hanyang District of Wuhan. It offers modern amenities such as a restaurant, fitness center, sauna, and hot tub. The air-conditioned rooms provide city views and come with free WiFi. Guests have praised the excellent service provided by the staff, including quick resolution of maintenance issues and prompt assistance from the front desk. Additionally, the property features contactless delivery using delivery robots for added convenience.
Really new service apartment! We’ve stayed in Ascott apartments in Japan and elsewhere in Wuhan. This place is amazing! Just opened in March 2023. Service is great! They have the delivery robots for contactless delivery. Front desk is always super helpful! We called once for a sink issue and within 2 minutes, manager brought the maintenance guy over to fix it. In another occasion I asked the front desk where can I buy additional water, she gave me 2 bottles immediately. And the breakfast lady was always warm and ready to help. Hardware, appliances and furnitures are very new! Love the new feel! In terms of location and view, we can overlook the lake and highway. Night scene is great while you barely hear the noise. Like any other Ascott apartments, there is a supermarket downstairs and shopping mall connected. So everything is within reach or a click of a button. Regretted that we didn’t stay here earlier. Nevertheless we’ll for sure consider here as a first option whenever we visit Wuhan.

The shopping mall, a quintessential American concept, made its way to Wuhan around the year 2000. Today, it stands as one of the largest commercial hubs in the city, featuring a diverse array of stores including Walmart and numerous restaurants alongside charming boutiques. While it may not hold the same allure as newer developments like Qunxing Cheng or Guangu, this shopping mall remains a beloved destination for locals seeking both retail therapy and leisure activities.
Great and fantasy!

Shopping mall, a concept American, it comes to wuhan in about 2000 or before. There are Walmart, restaurants, many boutiques, and so on. At the moment, it's one of the biggest commercial center in wuhan. But now, compared to qunxing Cheng, or guangu. It's not a big deal. But still, a center for shopping for wuhan people.

Big shopping mall, mostly consist of clothing, cosmetics shops and restaurants and there's also Walmart and iMax. There's more restaurants outside the building along the back streets.
