Water
Dadonghai is one of the beautiful beaches in Sanya, Hainan, offering a relaxing escape from daily life. The area is known for its tree-lined avenues, beach resorts, and diving centers. Just 40 kilometers away lies the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, featuring a theme park and a 108-meter-high Buddha on a man-made island. In addition to its natural beauty, Dadonghai offers attractions like Luhuitou Park and Dadonghai Square.
Ignore my last blog this is best beach Well for westerners anyhow Here not as big long but more swimming sandcastle building sunbathing etc, more like normal beach life for us lot. The other beach’s feel like it’s a sin to take ya clothes off an get in the water ! Here few more trunks and swimsuits and behind the beach are bars restaurants coffee shops ,Here the mermaid dressed photo shooters paddling in the water trying to be the next model are replaced with Russians and wives and Dong beiren selling stuff to you in Russian ,English seems left out. Signage is Russian no English subtitles ,so brush up on 东北话 or your Russian , people as always are relaxed and friendly,oh and nearly forgot the day we went the sea was warm ,don’t know if it always is or just caught it on an off day? Enjoy we loved it

The beach is nice but swimming is only allowed in dedicated small areas. Totally takes away the freedom feeling of an ocean
Fuetti — Google review
It's probably the most popular beach in China, lots of domestic tourists as well as some Russian tourists especially in their winter break.

(Translated by Google) This is my second time vacationing in this bay. For comparison, the last time we decided to go to Yalong Bay and Sanya Bay. There are larger bays and the water seemed cleaner and brighter in color, but everywhere there are drawbacks: the high cost of accommodation and food in Yalunwan, the lack of Russian-language infrastructure and few Russians in Sanya. It turned out that Dadonghai is the most Russian-populated, has the best prices, and it is easy to communicate with the local population in shops and cafes. There are many cafes and restaurants, there are shopping centers. The Chinese treat Russians with respect and play beach volleyball together.

(Translated by Google) It's very close to the city and has many dining options nearby. The sand quality is not bad and the transportation is convenient. The sunset is also quite beautiful, but some foot shower facilities are relatively limited. I like to stay at the Autograph Hotel nearby. (Translated by Google) Very convenient location. Every room has a balcony. A musty smell immediately upon entering the lobby. Breakfast is limited and always the same. Stayed 09/10/25-20/10/25, room 1116. Cons: - 500 yuan were stolen from the safe. There was no way to prove it, so I didn't report it. All expenses were in cash and were recorded daily. Upon arrival home, using bank receipts for the yuan purchases, we finally confirmed the loss of the 500 yuan. (For those unaware, the safes have a service password known to hoteliers, which can be used in addition to the password set – there are many videos on this topic online). - Don't leave money in safes. - Or, as I did after discovering it, I attached a piece of paper with the amount left in the safe. As I collected the money, I updated the slip of paper with the amount—that's when the disappearances stopped. Draw your own conclusions.

Sanya International Shopping Center is a bustling hub with a variety of dining options, supermarkets, bakeries, and fashion boutiques on the ground level. The second floor features clothing stalls while the third floor offers a kids' play area, restrooms, and a restaurant called Jiu Mao Jiu serving delicious home-style food. While it's an excellent shopping destination with popular brands and dining establishments like Pizza Hut, English may not be widely spoken by the staff.

Shopping
Summer Mall is a small, high-end shopping center that offers a variety of shops, a grocery store, and a sleek food court. While some visitors have noted that the air conditioning may not be sufficient, the mall is praised for its upscale selection of shops and stalls. The upper floors feature a good selection of restaurants while the ground floor hosts popular fast-food chains like Pizza Hut and KFC. Additionally, there are entertainment options for kids such as colorful trains.
Great for shopping and eating! Pleasant atmosphere. Here are the sushi food cort and bakery, amount of stores (summer discounts), Macdonald's, miniso, supermarket and a lot of fun for kids such as colourful train! Recommend for shopping and meeting with local contemporary culture

No, or bad, air con. Tired mall, but with good selection of shops, or I'd mostly call them stalls. Up market mostly and expensive. Bought a nice stainless steel travel sized kettle I was looking at. It was about $38US but before I could say anything the salesperson offered it to me for about $24. They even took it out and tested it after I had bought it. Good selection of restaurants on the upper floors and a nice Pizzahut on the ground floor. KFC "van" in the car park.

No.1 Agricultural Products Market in Sanya is a bustling and vibrant place where visitors can immerse themselves in the local way of life. The market offers a wide variety of goods, from raw and dried seafood to fresh vegetables and tropical fruits. It's known for its flexible pricing, allowing visitors to bargain for discounts ranging from 30% to 50%. In addition to agricultural products, the market also features Chinese eateries, stalls selling household goods, spices, sauces, oils, and more.
Amazing place to discover the real life of locals Crowd and messy Market. Full of all kinds of seafood. Fish. Vegetables. Fruit A colorful experience. Must buy fish and seafood and let it cook in a surround restaurant. It's a special adventure. At night street Market around make it even more crowd. Cheap cloths attract lot of people.

We bought a bag of grilled garlic oysters that we first saw at the market and ate them at our lodging. They were still delicious even though they were cold. Since it was a small restaurant, we didn't think we could eat them, so we just ate them with our eyes. There were a lot of locals and foreigners sitting and eating, but we didn't see a single Korean here. I thought Koreans only came to Hainan to play golf. There weren't any Koreans even when we went to tourist attractions. No matter where in the world you go, there are Korean tourists everywhere. There were a lot of things to see at the market, but it was fun to find Koreans. In the end, we failedㅋ We didn't see any. You can go here for dinner. (Translated by Google) In general, it’s a regular big bazaar, somewhat reminiscent of our Green Market, only with a marine twist. If your goal is to buy fresh fruit or seafood, this is the place to go. * Fruit. The selection is excellent, mango, dragon fruit, lychee – everything is in place. But the price is per half a kilo. * Seafood. Shrimp, fish, all kinds of shellfish – alive, moving. The scheme is convenient: choose, buy, and they will cook it for you right there in the cafe next door. But be prepared that it’s wet in these rows and there’s a specific smell. 🦐 * Bargaining. Bargaining is a must. For tourists, the price is initially named with a reserve. Take your time, walk around, estimate the prices. Taking out a calculator and showing your price is normal practice. 📱 This is not a place for walks, but a purely functional point. Noisy, crowded, bustling. Stop by, quickly stock up and leave – that’s its direct purpose. 👍

(Translated by Google) Small night market open at night. Nothing interesting. There is dirt, garbage, and a terrible stench everywhere. In the middle of the street there are pavilions with various consumer goods - T-shirts, scarves, hats, etc. etc. There are also many eateries with Chinese food, of which there are many everywhere. But due to the terrible smell from numerous trash cans, the desire to eat is completely discouraged. I also had no desire to buy anything because of the feeling of a big dump. Don't waste your time, there's nothing interesting here. You can get there from Dadonghai Bay by bus 2 and 8. After the second bridge, the first stop is after turning right. Tip: download an off-line Chinese translator at home. Very helpful. The Chinese don't understand English at all. That is, absolutely. And we are theirs, respectively. Or - learn to play "crocodile" - it will be fun and you will have something to remember. Good luck to everyone and have a nice trip! Let's leave the likes and enjoy life!

We went to Gordon's restaurant last month, when we were on holidays, out of curiosity as I am a big fan of culinary shows. We were a little disappointed overall. The kids fish & chips was really good I must say, the cod was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh and juicy. It was our favorite dish. The signature dish Beef Wellington came with some dry mushroom mix, and the meat quality was below average for us. Coming from New Zealand we are used to high quality beef eye fillet, so were expecting the same level from world-known chef's restaurant. The sauce was quite good though. I would advice Gordon to come to New Zealand One80 restaurant and try Beef Wellington there to compare. Caesar salad was average in our opinion as the sauce was a little bland and not enough.

(Translated by Google) The chain restaurant of the founder of Hell's Kitchen follows the British style. The restaurant design is simple and neat. The bread before the meal is delicious. The cheese ham as an appetizer is slightly sour and appetizing. The classic Margherita pizza has quite a bit of cheese. It tastes slightly sour and has a stringy visual effect. The pasta is also delicious, and the desserts include ice cream and small cakes. After taking photos, you can also take beautiful pictures online in the store. It is a restaurant worth recommending. Park
Nature & Parks
Hiking Trails
Yalong Bay Tropic Paradise Forest Park is located 25km southeast of Sanya, surrounding the renowned Yalong Bay National Tourist Resort. With an investment of RMB 1.9 billion, it stands as the first tropical coastal forest park for mountain ecological sightseeing and ecological tourism in Hainan Province. The park offers nature and ecology-focused attractions, including zip lines and a glass walkway through the treetops with stunning views of Yalong Bay.
Good Organization and Professional Service Right from the start, it’s clear that the park is well-prepared for tourists. Parking can take a bit of time, as it is four levels high and located on the side of a hill. However, local authorities in black uniforms and helpful police officers effectively manage the traffic, making it easy to find a spot even during peak hours. The descent from level 3 of the parking lot to the main gate involves stairs with several terraces, where you can already enjoy stunning views of the area. The stairs are wooden so it's a good idea to wear good, non-slip shoes, especially if it’s wet or raining. The hike on the mountain's stone paths also requires proper footwear, as the terrain can be slippery and uneven. The main reception -you can find informational brochures in Chinese, English, and Russian languages which makes it easier for foreign tourists to navigate. Pricing and Tickets The entrance fee is variable, depending on the season –off-season prices are lower. The entrance ticket includes bus rides throughout the park, which is very convenient for those who want to see all the main points without walking long distances. Additional attractions such as: - Glass Terrace - Hanging Bridge - 3D Cinema are charged separately, with prices ranging from 60 to 100 yuan per person, depending on the attraction. Important note Drones are not allowed and photography of the base is prohibited. At the summit, you can take photos in the half-sphere, but avoid taking pictures of the base. Amenities in the Park At the main entrance, there are very clean and well-equipped toilets, which is a great convenience for visitors. There is also a designated smoking area, as most areas of the park have a no-smoking policy. Traveling Up the Hills. The journey up the hills is done by small buses which do not have walls, only steel railings** and plastic seats with seat belts. I recommend fastening your seatbelt, checking your pockets, and securing your bags well to prevent items like phones, keys, or cards from falling out during the ride. The buses travel on narrow, winding roads, with some turns having 180° reversals. Each stop is well-marked, and park staff assist with getting on and off the bus, guiding tourists to the right direction for sightseeing. Attractions and Views Upon reaching the summit of the park, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Yalong Bay. From the various viewpoints, you can admire the azure waters of the ocean, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Glass Bridge – This is one of the most exciting attractions in the park. Walking on the transparent surface high above the ground provides unforgettable thrills and is an ideal spot for photos. - Hanging Bridge – This offers a unique way to explore the rainforest, providing a stunning view of nature from an exceptional perspective. Those with a fear of heights may struggle, as the bridge sways and strong winds may make it more challenging. The number of people on the bridge can prevent a quick exit, which can be an issue for some visitors. Exotic Flora and Fauna – The park is home to many tropical plants, birds, and small animals, making it a true pleasure for nature lovers to walk through. - Orchid Avenue– This is a spot particularly worth visiting. have never seen such a large number of orchids growing in one place before Accommodation Options on the Hills It’s also worth mentioning that there is the option to rent a cabin on the hills, known as the Bird Resort. Although I don't know the exact prices, it’s an interesting option for those who want to spend more time in this amazing place and enjoy the views of Yalong Bay from a unique perspective. Tourist Infrastructure There are small shops in the park that offer cold and hot drinks as well as snacks. A bottle of water costs around 10 10 yuan, and rice rolls with bacon wrapped in banana leaves are available for 20 yuan. Drinks are sold with a reasonable markup, but prices are still affordable and easy to access.

Staying at the Bird’s Nest Hotel was such a unique and unforgettable experience. Each room is built on the edge of a mountain cliff, which sounded a bit nerve-wracking at first, but the incredible views of the ocean quickly made up for it. Our room was perched over 400 meters above sea level, and the cool breeze during Sanya’s winter made it feel so refreshing and peaceful. One of my favorite parts was having breakfast at the restaurant located at the peak of the mountain. Every morning, we were treated to a stunning panoramic view that made the day feel extra special. Our room had a cozy balcony where we would gather in the evenings for small chats and drinks. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, perfect for 2-4 people, though the shared door for the toilet and bathroom was a bit awkward. The hotel itself is quite an adventure! You need to climb stairs and slopes to get to most areas, which could be challenging if you’re not used to it. Dragon Park was a beautiful spot, offering incredible views of Yalong Bay, but honestly, I preferred enjoying the views from our own balcony. For the thrill-seekers, there’s a glass walkway along the cliff and a hanging swing bridge 400 meters high that connects two mountains. I’ll admit, it took some courage to cross, but the photos were definitely worth it! My son even took the flying fox ride from the mountain peak down to the base—I was tempted, but we chose to hike instead, which was its own kind of adventure. The hotel staff were friendly and provided shuttle buses to move guests around, but the small, plastic-seated buses weren’t the most comfortable, especially with the drivers’ speedy turns on the winding mountain roads. Still, it added to the overall charm of the trip. In the evenings, we walked out to explore local restaurants nearby, which were all quite decent. Looking back, it was such a special stay—challenging at times, but filled with unique moments and memories that we’ll cherish forever.

If you're in Yalong bay, you should definitely check this place out for the views. The price is high - we paid 228 per person. The bus stops along the way, I recommend you get out on all the stops on the way to the top. The rope bridge and glass bridges are both the star of the show. However, it's super weird on the glass bridge, there will be people, signs and audio blasting out 'do not take photos of military instillations' every 2 minutes. This is because they put the glass bridge overlooking a naval base - if you don't want people to see it, why build the glass bridge? Odd

We reached the place from our hotel in Sanya (Care Coast Hotel) by taxi S$ 15.00. We were not able to visit all attractions since I was above age 75. The restriction is applied due to the height and some risk which I don't agree with. So we ended up taking the simple tour with the bus. S$ 29.00 for both of us. It was a sunny day but going up the hill one could feel the wind and the slight chilli air. It is recommended to dress accordingly. The view from the top was nice but nothing spectacular. Luckily we caught a taxi back to our hotel.

There are a few activities to do here. We took a Didi here. Foreigners can buy tickets directly at the manual counter. Can show digital passport photo for their processing. Basically to check the age. Free for kids below 6 years old, according to birth date. Discounted tickets for seniors above 60 years old. Tickets are not cheap but worth a go. Went during the June period and it's their low peak season. Very hot and humid but few people and tour groups. Do bring sunblock and mosquito repellent. I chose these 3 activities to complete. 1) Glass bridge (3rd bus station) 2) Suspension bridge (2nd bus station) 3) 6D movie which is 7 minutes long (3rd bus station) The other activities seems fun! But I'm bringing 2 kids who are 6 and below and a senior above 60. Hence, the above 3 activities mentioned are good enough. Free coconut milk and coffee sampling. Of cos they are going to ask you to buy their products but you can just ignore them. 🙃 The shuttle bus ride has 3 stations. Very rollercoaster like rides with experienced drivers along winding mountain roads. We took the bus all the way to the peak of the moutain (3rd station) and slowly worked our way down. Damn scary and my little kids held on to their seat belts. Children have to take the inner seats, in case they fall off the bus.

Not a bad place. I loved the bus ride up and down. So convenient. Too bad I arrived like an hour before the closing time. Going back to explore in Dec. Gotta spend like 4hrs there… bringing my kids this time

Very nice, especially when glass bridge has been build. Take bus number 25,15, get off on outlet, and go up about 200-300 meters. Entrance costs 98元, plus You'll need extra tickets for transporter.

Beautiful place with a lot of attractions. Offers a stunning view over the Yalong bay. You should go for the "Glassfloor walk", it costs extra money, but it's worth it. The location also offers a foodcourt, where you can enjoy good chinese food. It's also possible to get there by bus (I think it was line 25 and/or 27).

China Duty Free Sanya Duty Free Shop is a government-established shopping center in Sanya, offering a wide range of luxury goods from renowned international brands like Gucci and LV. Visitors need to show proof of a departing plane ticket from Hainan and collect their purchases at the airport before leaving. Additionally, there are other duty-free options nearby such as the Sanya International Shopping Center.
The mall is only for locals and for domestic flights within China. I'm utterly disappointed and don't see a point of coming to Sanya again... advanced flight back for civilization.... Attached is the only pathetic shop that a foreigner can buy, pathetic items .....

Cdf mall Who is it for? if you are in the Haitiang area, this is a conviennat name brand mall to check out as long as you bring your ID/passport and travel documents with you. If you are in the Sanya area by the airport, the one hour trek to this mall is NOT WORTH IT. Any purchase made at cdf stores (there are at least two on each floor of the C building) will result in you leaving with just a receipt to retrieve your purchase in the airport! This requires 1. you remember to retrieve your items after clearing security checks, 2. there is no mixup and your items are waiting for you 3. your items are small in quantity because you can not put them in your checked luggage- You must carry them on to the plane. 4. if you have a connecting flight, these purchases will not put you over the 200ml carry on requirement, in which case you will have to discard them. They have common name brands, but definitely not all. The prices are not phenomenally different. The mall could use more seating options in the common areas. If this is truly meant to be a tourist attraction, they definitely need more English speaking employees in the shops. The highlight of the one hour journey to this place was getting wine/beer at the Shake Shack. The sign on the door tells you you need documents in order to shop, regardless if you are Chinese or a foreigner, so don't come empty handed.
Serenity B — Google review
Clean and big mall. But... you can only purchase items at the mall if you are flying domestic. International travellers out of China, tough luck. This mall is built for domestic tourist only. So don't be tempted and disappointed after.
Richmond K — Google review
If you are a foreigner and heading out of hainan dao directly, you cannot buy anything from the mall. It’s duty free for their locals, not foreigners.
Anning C — Google review
This mall is huge and very good-looking, but I do not think that it is a good shopping mall. It is not so good to shop due to some reasons. There are so many people but not so various products. Some high-end brands do not have bags but only perfumes and cosmetics. As well, prices are not so good despite duty free.
Hoon K — Google review
They don't sell to people who fly out Hainan directly to another country. You can only shop if you leave Hainan to mainland China within a month. This is a joke when people who leave a country are supposed to get the real duty free!

(Translated by Google) It's a nice park with lots of man-made Instagram/selfie spots. The beach has a few large stones in front of which there are crowds of tourists, but otherwise there is nothing unusual or worth seeing other than that you should come specifically for. We were there in the off-season and there were still quite a few people there. It's a place to walk and eat/drink. I don't want to badmouth the place, but paying an entrance fee to see a beach (which isn't significantly different from what's around it) and artificial Instagram spots you have to consider whether it's worth it. Walking about 300 meters east from the "Tianya" and "Haijiao" two stones, there is a tall and upright conical stone, pointing straight to the sky like a magic pen. This is the "Southern Pillar" stone, about 7 meters high, viewed from the front. It looks like a philosopher's head, and when viewed from the side, it looks like the "ketch" raised on an ancient ship. The pattern on the back of the fourth edition of the 2-yuan RMB is the "Southern Pillar" here. There is a legend that it is a section of the "Tianzhu" that "Gonggong was angry and touched Mount Buzhou, causing the Tianzhu to break and the earth to remain intact". It was sent here to support the southern sky alone. In the first year of Xuantong of the Qing Dynasty (1909), Fan Yunti, the then magistrate of Yazhou, inscribed the four characters "One Pillar of the South Sky" based on the above statement.

Yesterday evening, I saw CDF Building 1, and today during the day, I visited CDF Building 2, which is located after walking for about 20 minutes on a bridge floating high in the sky. I didn't walk, I just drove straight from my apartment. There is also a shuttle between the two places. It's huge. It is an incredibly healing shopping mall. Hall 1 is indoors and Hall 2 is outdoors. Large restaurants are mainly located in Building 2. I had lunch at Crystal Jade and a hot dog at Shack Burger for a snack. There are two Shack Burger locations, Building 1 and Building 2. Shopping
Dadonghai International Shopping Center is a large mall consisting of two four-story buildings connected by passages. The second floor features a huge supermarket and the first floor houses familiar fast-food chains like McDonald's. On the fourth floor, there are numerous restaurants to explore, offering diverse cuisines. Visitors can enjoy shopping for Chinese products and souvenirs at the large supermarket. However, Muslim travelers should be cautious with street food as halal labeling may be absent.
I imagine this place is top notch h. But I’ve never been here.

1 star for restrooms Chinese style - super inconvenient People are hardcore smoking there without stop. No toilet paper at all. That’s is strange for such country. Very progressive but in the same time so limited with toilet paper.

I loved it. There was many popular stores. Especially I loved the ice cream on 3rd or 2nd floor. I recommend it!
