Water
Dadonghai is one of the beautiful beaches in Sanya, Hainan, offering a relaxing escape from daily life. The area is known for its tree-lined avenues, beach resorts, and diving centers. Just 40 kilometers away lies the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, featuring a theme park and a 108-meter-high Buddha on a man-made island. In addition to its natural beauty, Dadonghai offers attractions like Luhuitou Park and Dadonghai Square.
Ignore my last blog this is best beach Well for westerners anyhow Here not as big long but more swimming sandcastle building sunbathing etc, more like normal beach life for us lot. The other beach’s feel like it’s a sin to take ya clothes off an get in the water ! Here few more trunks and swimsuits and behind the beach are bars restaurants coffee shops ,Here the mermaid dressed photo shooters paddling in the water trying to be the next model are replaced with Russians and wives and Dong beiren selling stuff to you in Russian ,English seems left out. Signage is Russian no English subtitles ,so brush up on 东北话 or your Russian , people as always are relaxed and friendly,oh and nearly forgot the day we went the sea was warm ,don’t know if it always is or just caught it on an off day? Enjoy we loved it

The beach is nice but swimming is only allowed in dedicated small areas. Totally takes away the freedom feeling of an ocean

It's probably the most popular beach in China, lots of domestic tourists as well as some Russian tourists especially in their winter break.

(Translated by Google) This is my second time vacationing in this bay. For comparison, the last time we decided to go to Yalong Bay and Sanya Bay. There are larger bays and the water seemed cleaner and brighter in color, but everywhere there are drawbacks: the high cost of accommodation and food in Yalunwan, the lack of Russian-language infrastructure and few Russians in Sanya. It turned out that Dadonghai is the most Russian-populated, has the best prices, and it is easy to communicate with the local population in shops and cafes. There are many cafes and restaurants, there are shopping centers. The Chinese treat Russians with respect and play beach volleyball together.

(Translated by Google) Very convenient location. Every room has a balcony. A musty smell immediately upon entering the lobby. Breakfast is limited and always the same. Stayed 09/10/25-20/10/25, room 1116. Cons: - 500 yuan were stolen from the safe. There was no way to prove it, so I didn't report it. All expenses were in cash and were recorded daily. Upon arrival home, using bank receipts for the yuan purchases, we finally confirmed the loss of the 500 yuan. (For those unaware, the safes have a service password known to hoteliers, which can be used in addition to the password set – there are many videos on this topic online). - Don't leave money in safes. - Or, as I did after discovering it, I attached a piece of paper with the amount left in the safe. As I collected the money, I updated the slip of paper with the amount—that's when the disappearances stopped. Draw your own conclusions.

Island
Wuzhizhou Island, located off the coast of Hainan, China, is a popular day trip destination known for its butterfly shape and beautiful surroundings. The island offers a picturesque beach with aquamarine waters and activities such as surfing, water scooter rides, and scuba diving. With Wuzhizhou Island directly opposite, visitors can enjoy bathing in warm waters while admiring the coconut trees and clear blue skies.
Boat ride pre-booked and were advised to take the earlisest ride to avoid HUGE crowds. Best advice ever since we were there during peak season in January. Everything about the island was fantastic, apart from the crowds. can’t swim (rough waters) but u can book a trip out to dive.

Bay
Haitang Bay, located on Hainan Island, is a newly developed strip featuring luxury hotels and designer boutiques. Often referred to as 'China's Hawaii,' the island has become a popular destination for domestic tourists. With its white sandy beaches and palm trees, Sanya offers some of China's best beach experiences.
If Hainan is the Hawaii of China, then Sanya is definitely the Honolulu, which means beaches, hotels, and tropical weather. The hotels in Haitang area is brand new, and they are all luxury hotels. We stayed in Crown Plaza, which has a temp controlled boundless pool on the top floor which oversee the ocean. Just amazing!!!!

A lot of fancy hotels. It’s nice to take a walk on the beach. Not many restaurants, mainly those located in fancy hotels, which are rather expensive.

If you are looking to chilling and having a dip in the sea, then this is not the place for it. Local Authorities have ban Swimming in the sea. Death trolls was 5 till now. There is no lifeguard or any lounge area. It’s a quite beach. There is nothing much there except hotels. No water sports and food nearby too. The water isn’t clear either as compare to other beaches

Nature & Parks
Luhuitou Park is a hilly park in Sanya, offering stunning views of the city and the South China Sea. The park features a beloved deer statue and is home to resident monkeys that can be spotted at Monkey Island, Wuzhishan resorts, or within the park itself.
The Romance Park has very beautiful views. Good restaurants, and souvenir shops. I woild recommend it for anyone looking for tourist spots in Sanya.
King K — Google review
Interesting surreal environment I truly enjoyed. Luhuitou Park is a captivating hilltop destination known for its breathtaking views of Sanya Bay and its enchanting local legend. The park's name, meaning "Deer Looking Back," is rooted in a famous fairy tale about a hunter who chased a deer. As he prepared to shoot, the deer transformed into a beautiful woman, leading to a love story symbolizing harmony between humans and nature. At the heart of the park stands the iconic Luhuitou statue, depicting the deer looking back, symbolizing love and loyalty. Visitors can enjoy lush green pathways, romantic spots perfect for couples, and a panoramic view of the South China Sea. Especially magical at sunrise or sunset, the park offers an unforgettable experience that combines natural beauty, cultural heritage, and mythical allure. It’s a must-visit destination for those seeking a serene yet culturally enriching adventure in Sanya!

Deer Looking Back Park Luhuitou 鹿回头 situated above a hill overlooking the Sanya Bay. Really good view of the whole city and the bay on a clear day. You can really see far out. They also attach a local romance folklore with the park, adding to the sentimental value. A really good choice if the day is hot, because a lot cool breeze on this hilltop.

Great place to be visited for tourist or local. Nice scenery from above the hill. Best way to walk or ride a bus from entrance gate. You can easy walk, brisk walk, and enjoy the view. So many shopping stall so no need to worry about drink / food. One of the great tourist spot in Sanya, Hainan.
Fakhrul A — Google review
The scenery from the on the top of hill is really beautiful! We can go up there by car that provided by them. After that, we must walk uphill if we want to reach and see the big deer sclupture, but I'm sure you will never regret it. There are many monkey there, so please keep your stuffs safely. In the night, we can see many lights that bright from the top until down hill.
Melianna P — Google review
It's free to go up the hill. But if you want to take shuttle it costs 28 yuan. I walk up to the top, but because I came late, they gave us going down free. So beautiful scenery, especially in the night
Vien H — Google review
A landmark of Sanya, it is a small walk up the hill, or take the shuttle to get to 90% of the walk up. Very great scenery from the hill top.
Hannah C — Google review
Beautiful legend of love, great views on the city, light hiking (with option to take a mini bus delivering you almost to the top for 35 RMB (price is object to change, based on notes from 2017), monkey residence - what else you need to place this park in your destination route? Well, maybe acquaintance with local culture, gorgeous views after the sunset and the tallest point of the island - the statue on the top of the hill? Anyhow - go! You won't regret.

Water Parks
Atlantis Sanya is a luxurious resort that combines a water park, an aquarium, and various dining options. The resort features a vast Lost Chambers aquarium with over 80,000 marine creatures including sharks, sea lions, and dolphins. Guests can enjoy a range of dining experiences from refined Cantonese cuisine to offerings by renowned chef Gordon Ramsay. The futuristic design of the resort adds to its unique charm as it channels oceanographic themes into its architecture.
Very exquisite experience. The service was amazing. Breakfast was delicious. Restaurants inside resort are bit expensive, kind of hard to get to other restaurants. Waterpark was one of the most fun place I have ever visited.
Pro D — Google review
Atlantis Sanya is an impressive luxury resort with stunning ocean views and a vast water park that entertained my whole family. The rooms were immaculate and spacious, and the aquarium in the lobby was mesmerizing. Staff were friendly and attentive, especially Helena who provided excellent service. Although dining prices were a bit high and the beach isn’t great for swimming, the endless facilities including pools, aquarium, and kids’ activities made it a perfect all-in-one family getaway. Highly recommend for families wanting fun and relaxation in Sanya
Johnconnor G — Google review
I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel – it’s an incredible experience! If you have children, it’s a must-visit place. The aquapark opens a bit earlier for hotel guests, so in the morning you can enjoy the rides without queues. Breakfast is available in two restaurants, offering every cuisine you can imagine – Asian, Chinese, European – we honestly struggled to choose because everything looked so good. The concierge service was also excellent, solving any issues in the blink of an eye. For dinner, there’s a wide variety of restaurants, but they are dramatically expensive, even compared to living in one of the most expensive cities in the world. If your room includes the Imperial Club, it’s well worth it – the snacks there are very good. The aquarium is amazing, though personally I wish the dolphins and belugas were not kept in captivity. The theatre show is beautifully done, with talented actors and impressive modern technology. To sum up: I strongly recommend this hotel. Your children will remember it as a fantastic and unforgettable experience.

Stayed here for a 6 night stay with my partner celebrating our anniversary and a birthday. Immediately upon arrival we were met warmly by Fatima - we had a very serious unfortunate event during check in with a lost passport. Fatima was instrumental in coordinating/calling the airport/dealing with their staff while my partner made the 45 minute trek back. Because of her help they were able to locate the passport before my partner arrived. Once settled, during the entirety of our stay Fatima was always available for our needs and questions. The room was stunning - we had a king imperial ocean view suite. The amenities In room were top tier, the access to the theme park/ aquarium was a great addition. I will say as a couple we will most likely not stay again - this is quite obviously a family friendly resort but 70% of the pools were blocked off so there was not a lot of space. Typically when we’ve stayed at “theme park” related hotels they have either a closed “club” location or adults only section at the pool or beach. I will say if you book - it is worth every cent for the imperial club. Breakfast was much better than the two buffets on the bottom floor- service was 10/10 you also have access to food/coffees for afternoon tea and evening so we never went hungry or thirsty. The cafe is open all day and we were able to enjoy the best coconut lattes. Not to mention the impeccable view! Overall - service 10/10 Room 10/10 Food 8/10 - based off breakfast and imperial club Pools 4/10 - if more of the pool was open it would be much higher Amenities 10/10

This is a large hotel with a lot of great facilities. We were with friends so nothing could stop us and the kids from having a good time. However, the quality of service and tech is even lower than a 3-star hotel. - Very crowded, messy checkin - Minibar is very basic - Staff are lovely but do not speak English and get confused when you need even a slight customisation of a service or food. It s a challege to do almost anything. - Money Exchange is very hard. The staff counted 500 AUD 3 times and called another person and he counted 3 more times! Took a photo of notes like casinos and finally told me there are wrinkles on the notes and cannot exchange - The barcodes to order food or drink don t work. It s very uncomfortable if you want to order something by the pool. If you manage to request some water, they will bring some warm water in paper cups. - Room cleaning service is slow. - Room shower seems a bit old. Fridge was small and didn t cool things properly. Rooms lacks normal cutlery, plates, glasses you expect from a 5 start hotel. - Rooms don t even have a "do not disturb" sign. - Shows and concerts repeat almost the same routine every night - Restaurants and bars mostly close by 9.30pm. Come on guys! - Prices do not match the quality, service and location. Expect to pay as much as a 5-star hotel in Paris for everything. Massage stars from 150 usd! This place is for local tourists, not foreigners. and seemingly they don t mind some hassle or low quality. - Breakfast has very limited western options. You cannot even find good coffee. No fresh juice. I would like to thank Marina, our lovely hotel contact for English support and hope this feedback is taken in a constructive way to make things better.

Our stay at Atlantis Sanya was truly exceptional. The resort is luxurious and full of world-class amenities. What made it even more special was our butler, Shakhzood, who delivered outstanding service with professionalism and care. He made everything easier and more enjoyable. Thank you, Shakhzood, for making our stay unforgettable. Thank you

I stayed here for 2 nights and had a great experience with my little kids. There was many toys for kids in the room preparation and many facilities and activities for kids. I definitely recommend this hotel as a kids friendly hotel in Sanya. With big thanks to Shakhzod who really helped out many things during my stay. I was surprised at not many people are not able to speak English even though 5 star hotel staffs. Our family has a hard time to communicate with people, however, he, Shakhzod, who works at Atlantis helped me every single moment when I had a trouble during the stay. I would like to thank him for his considerable care.

Came here from the Edition and honestly you would not want to come here. Listen to other people’s reviews. Poor service and like everyone said overpopulated. The staff doesn’t care about you It’s beyond disorganized and all the staff will make statements like your room will be ready by 2 and have you come here just for them to say it’s not ready. Literally told them I can wait for a later check in they just have to let us know so I can chill at the Edition longer and the manager confidently said the room will be ready and not to worry. Did they care to address the lying? No. For a 5 star hotel you would also expect it to be clean, it’s not. And for this many people you would think they would open their pool but no, they had 2 lifeguards and closed it up a kiddie pool size because they just couldn’t afford to either hire more lifeguards or couldn’t care enough to open the entire pool even when there were so many people to the point where you can’t even swim. The water park lazy river has dirty water bottles floating, shoe soles floating and abandoned goggles. Beyond dirty

We stayed as a family a few days in the hotel ritz. We came here after the Atlantis hotel and it was just magic. It’s a real beautiful location and looks super traditional .The service is super nice and helpful. Me being traveling so much around with a child, i really enjoyed the check in part. I never have seen such a thoughtful and happy little kids area which the kids can play while the adults check in and solve all questions. I‘m super impressed and I really appreciate this experience… they are super kids and family friendly. I can’t wait to come back … a big thank to you to let us experience this

Well for my experience Ritz service isn't good, we booked everything before and let them know about the birthday we were celebrating and arranged the cake. We had to call them multiple times to bring the cake. Room is big and nice but the service isn't very Ritz like. We have to push them to get things done, it doesn't feel so welcoming, and there was construction in the site which started 9.00 am. We were away from the sound so we could sleep but we couldn't walking around because of the noise. If you are expecting a luxury holiday don't expect that.
Anjalee M — Google review
The hotel is overall wonderful. The location is simply amazing. The food is absolutely great (except pool restaurant). But the evening shows are a complete nightmare!!! Live music blasts every night until 10 PM, and it’s the same songs over and over again. It’s impossible to enjoy the beautiful weather, the silence, and the sound of the sea on your own balcony! The music is so loud that you can even hear it inside the room! And you can’t even sit and relax normally after 10 PM, because breakfast is only served until 10:30 AM! You’re forced to wake up early on your vacation just to make it to breakfast. Speaking of breakfast: the omelette cooking system in the main restaurant is simply awful. You have to wait forever, it’s unclear where to put those paper slips, and then the finished omelettes are not displayed anywhere they just stay with the chef, who can’t even read the room numbers properly to give the order to the right person. At the club breakfast, there wasn’t even a sign saying that the chefs could make omelettes! The sign only appeared after we insisted on having one, because we had absolutely no desire to go back to the noisy main restaurant anymore. Also, the rooms definitely need some renovation - everything feels so old. Service just poor. Staff doesn’t speak English, they always stop us and speak Chinese then taking their phone and repeat everything in translator. Honestly, this is the first hotel where I’m trying to avoid staff because they always disturb me with some questions. Right now its 8:30 pm, I’m sitting in my club room waiting for this loud music to finally stop so I can finally enjoy my vacation — the peace, the sound of the sea, and nature…

We stayed 6 nights at the Ritz-Carlton Sanya with Club Level access and had such a relaxing, luxurious time—it was honestly the best part of our family China trip. The Club Lounge was a huge highlight. The food was consistently good and offered a ton of variety: comforting Western dishes like bolognese pasta, mac and cheese, and pizza, plus Asian options like made-to-order pho noodles where you could ask for more spice or extra veggies. Some mornings had dim sum-style items like shrimp dumplings and steamed baos, which was a nice touch. The Club Lounge also had a wide variety of drink options, including French white wines, beer, and liquor to mix your own drinks like gin and tonics. It wasn’t anything over the top, but it was generous and convenient, especially for being self-serve. We also really enjoyed the afternoon tea (2:30–4:30 PM), evening hors d’oeuvres and light dinner (5:30–7:30 PM), and the desserts and drinks available until 10 PM. Always fresh fruit and treats around. One of the best parts was that they let us reserve the executive meeting room for our family meals, which gave us privacy and a guaranteed space to sit together—a huge help for a group our size. We ate most of our meals in the lounge because it was so easy and accommodating for everyone. Service throughout the resort was impeccable. The staff was kind, thoughtful, and always made sure we were taken care of. The rooms were clean and comfortable—plush bedding, a beautiful soaking tub, great water pressure, and even the shampoo and conditioner were high-quality. The views from the room were lovely and peaceful. The resort itself is beautiful, with well-maintained pools, beach access, a tennis court, and water activities like paddleboarding and kayaking. We saw guests from other resorts come to the Ritz for photoshoots, which says a lot about how scenic it is. There are several restaurants on-site and within walking distance, which made dining flexible. We were there for New Year’s, and the hotel hosted a fun celebration with a live performance and fireworks, making it feel festive and special. The only downside was the weather—cloudy and overcast for most of our trip. We had hoped for more sunshine to really enjoy the beach and outdoor views. While the hotel made up for it in so many ways, the weather might make us pause before returning to this exact location. Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable family vacation. The Club Level access made a big difference in comfort and convenience, and we left feeling relaxed and well cared for.

I am satisfied with my overall stays. It might not be a typical Ritz Carlton property as you expected, *by saying that, I mean the property is (only) slightly below the true Ritz Carlton standard*, it did worth the money I paid. This resort was huge with lots of buildings. I could see that the entire resort requires considerable maintenance work each day. The infinite pool was clean, and the gardening was fantastic. My Marriott Gold Membership was recognized during the check-in. They automatically upgraded me to a grand ocean view room once it was available the next day of my arrival. I appreciated that. I highly suggest anyone who wants to come to have the rooms with ocean views rather than mountain views. The dinning experience in Run Yuan restaurant was beyond my expectation. I enjoyed those Hainan dishes a lot. Last but not least, all staffs around the reception area, front desk, housekeeping, pool, and beach were very warm and dedicated to their jobs. They always showed their positive attitude to help the guests. Special thanks to Miss Dandan Chen, who made my days by answering my boring questions and bringing me laugh.

Spectacular resort, went for 3 night and stayed in a suite. Room was massive and very well maintained. Entire resort is immaculately maintained, pools are clean and inviting. Beach is a short walk but has deck chairs and umbrellas and service too. Alison from Loyalty helped ensure that we had a very memorable stay. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a good time here. We were lucky to have the room upgraded. 1. Employee: The hotel staff are super friendly and helpful. 2. Dining: Breakfast buffet was pretty good too. Many dining options. But if you want the hot pot by the sea, you need to have reservations. 3. Location: The beach is connected to the hotel. It’s next to the Hilton’s resort area. The pools are everywhere in between the buildings. Easy to have fun. 15 mins walk to the authentic food court of Yalong Bay Area. Only thing to complain was that people love smoking… but most of the resort area is smoke free, and the staff are working hard to stop the smoking behavior in public. I highly recommend and would definitely love to come back again.

This is a 1st class hotel, worthy of a five star rating and even repeat visits. Located directly on the beach of the Yalong Bay, this cozy resort has essentially everything you could want. From delicious wagyu steak at their local Italian restaurant to a great little movie theater, to watch the most recent blockbuster, the resort has it all. The views from the pools and rooms are incredible. A picturesque scene of mountains and ocean in the backdrop to the gorgeous property full of coconut trees and flowers. All of the staff go out of their way to ensure each guest is appreciated and feels welcomed. If you're not a local Chinese guest, feel free to book a driver from the airport directly through the hotel. It takes away all of the concerns of translations. Once you are at the resort, the staff will help you get anywhere you want by easy taxi services. This resort is a slice of paradise and it is a great home base for all sorts of available tourism in Hainan.

The Hilton Sanya Yalong Bay Resort & Spa is an upscale retreat offering a variety of amenities including two restaurants, three bars, a cafe, outdoor pool, gym, and spa. Situated along the stunning private beach of Yalong Bay, this resort features contemporary southern Chinese styled rooms with open-plan bathrooms and spacious balconies providing breathtaking views of the South China Sea.
Got upgraded to double-balcony suite in building 1, FL7. Room is perfect size with outstanding view! Service is great, help on the luggages, daily twice cleaning and so on. The bathtub is super cute too. They only have 2 restaurants and limited food options, and they don’t allow outside food at the lobby lounge area. But many delivery options. Location is good, love the shared beach with Marriott and Ritz-Carlton next door. Good breakfast and cute afternoon tea. Many activities especially for kids. Price is very affordable. Great pools with abundant life guards. Definitely recommend!

Had an incredible stay at Hilton, the service was outstanding. We stayed at the garden room with access to the pool in Building 6, the rooms were spotless and beautifully designed. The facilities were top-notch, the pool area are stunning, poolside service made the experience even more enjoyable. A special shoutout to lifeguard Chaohui Peng, who was especially helpful and attentive! Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a luxurious and seamless experience!

************* Complaint ************** unreasonable Treatment unpleasant experience ***************************************** To: General Manager of Hilton Sanya Dear Sir/Madam, I am a guest who stayed in Room 1606 of your hotel, checking in on June 14, 2024, and checking out today, June 18, 2024. I am writing this letter to express my utmost dissatisfaction and disappointment, and to request compensation for the damage to our reputation. Here is the sequence of events: On the fourth day of our stay, around 11:00 AM, two police officers, accompanied by hotel staff, came to our room and asked my son to cooperate with their investigation. They claimed that surveillance footage showed my son passing through the hotel garden around 5:00 AM, and his behavior was deemed suspicious. My son has a habit of running in the early morning, and he was merely passing through the garden to go for a run on the beach. How could such an action lead to him being treated as a suspect? This handling of the situation is absolutely unacceptable. As guests of a five-star hotel, we have spent money at your establishment and yet were treated in such an incredulous manner. Without clear evidence or a report of missing items, your hotel called the police and asked us to cooperate with their investigation, claiming it was a routine check and that every room was being inspected. This explanation is highly unconvincing. This hasty and irresponsible handling of the situation has seriously harmed our feelings and dignity. We feel deeply insulted and unfairly treated. As a hotel renowned for its high-quality service, I hope you will take this matter seriously, provide us with a reasonable explanation and apology, and offer appropriate compensation for the damage to our reputation. I hope your hotel will address this issue promptly and appropriately. If we do not receive a satisfactory response, we will consider taking further legal action to protect our rights. Sincerely, Ms Wong / Mr Teoh Date: June 18, 2024

We recently stayed at Hilton Yalong Bay and Skyler was truly exceptional during our recent stay. Mixed affair. Clean rooms and nice location. Checked in this week, upon arriving in 30+ Deg heat and extreme humidity we were told the computers were "slow", told we would have to wait in the lobby and offered vouchers for cheap drinks. After waiting 45mins only after complaining again did we get our room, who knows how long we would have waited if we didn't complain. Nice beach but has rubbish in the waves. Overpriced food. "Very" loud and not good live band playing that is very loud in our room.

Terrible Experience at Hilton Sanya! Do Not Recommend, Especially for Families with Kids! Our room was paid for starting April 4th, but we arrived at the hotel on April 5th at 1:00 AM due to a late flight. Despite this, they made us wait until 4:00 AM to check in—meaning we lost almost an entire night that we had already paid for! I’m a single mother traveling with two children (a one-year-old and a nine-year-old), and forcing us to wait for three hours in the middle of the night with a baby in my arms was unacceptable. Because of the delayed check-in, we missed the included breakfast. We had to order an overpriced paid breakfast instead, which took 1.5 hours to arrive—while my hungry children cried. When it finally came, it was a disgrace: just scrambled eggs, rice, and coffee. They had the nerve to charge us $200 for this! But the worst part? The mold in the room. It was everywhere—in the bathroom, on the walls, even on the furniture. As someone with allergies, this was dangerous, and for small children, exposure to mold can lead to serious respiratory problems. I demanded a room change, but they claimed all rooms were the same. Even worse, this is supposed to be an international hotel, yet NOT A SINGLE STAFF MEMBER SPEAKS ENGLISH—only Chinese! How is this acceptable for a global brand like Hilton? The old man Hilton himself would be rolling in his grave if he knew what a disgrace his once-luxurious hotels have become! Hilton Sanya is a complete scam and a health hazard! We paid for a full night but got nothing. The hotel is dirty, outdated, and negligent—especially toward families. Never staying here again! Save your money and avoid this place at all costs. Important Notice to the Hotel Management If you do not provide us with free meals for the remaining 11 days of our stay, I, along with my relatives, friends, and acquaintances, will write negative reviews every single day in all languages on every booking site and travel platform exposing how terrible your hotel and service are. We will make sure no traveler ever considers staying at Hilton Sanya again. The choice is yours—compensate us properly, or face endless bad publicity.

Situated close to various attractions such as China Duty Free Shop and Wuzhizhou Island, the resort provides easy access to popular destinations.
Hotel and area are brilliant.. very peaceful if you are looking for a good rest and connecting with nature, however as a foreigner don’t expect too much assistance and help from the staff even concierge as they don’t speak English. Even with translation i didn’t experienced positive results.. It took me 20minutes to persuade them to exchange me 100rmb so i can pay taxi who was waiting for me in front of the hotel. Food by the pool u can order only if you have We Chat and linked credit card, otherwise u have to go back all the way in the lobby, order there and eat there as they will not assist you to order for you. Shop inside the hotel doesn’t offer much except instant noodles and few options for juices.. Prepare your sightseeing in advance as hotel is away from the city 45 minutes which is impossible as there is always traffic plus if there is accident on the road you can be stuck for half of the day. On the way to Nanshan temple i was 2.5h in traffic at 10am.. on the way back almost 4h at 5pm. Good luck

I usually don't write reviews, but I'd like to write because this is the most unsatisfactory Accor hotel experience I've ever had. I used two accommodation tickets that I received by joining the China Accor Gold Card for this stay. (Booked for a total of two consecutive days for one night each.) Other Korean customers have seen several reviews that even though they booked a basic room during the peak winter season with the Accor Platinum benefit, it has been upgraded to a suite. I also booked a basic room. However, I didn't even receive a first-stage room upgrade, let alone a suite, at the time of check-in. Of course, I know that the right to upgrade rooms is the domain of discretion to judge based on the status of guests in the hotel. I even tried to use the room upgrade coupon for the China Accor gold card, but the answer that came back was that all rooms were fully booked. Even the staff who told me that the room was fully booked said that it had not been upgraded but was assigned to the highest floor. However, the sixth floor in Pearl Tower is just one floor above the fifth floor, which is the lowest by room standards. It was something her should not have said. Return to original story, EVEN I will understand that. It could actually be fully booked. However, the various experiences I had at the time of check-in made me doubt the real intention of the person in charge who told me that it was fully booked. First of all, in the e-mail that was sent to me the day before my stay, I was aware that the hotel was staying for two nights, but there was a rather embarrassing moment when the staff asked me if I was staying for one night at the check-in site. It wasn't until I mentioned that I had booked for two nights that I was able to proceed with the check-in, and there was such a lack of explanation about the benefits of this hotel in platinum. The next morning, I presented my room card at the counter at the restaurant to eat at cuisine, and the staff informed me that I could go in. However, five minutes later, another staff member came to me and told me that your reservation didn't include the meal. It just so happened that I was about to take a seat with the food. Am I stealing the meal? Am I right that the breakfast workers at the restaurant don't know what the benefits of platinum would be? This happened even though I explained to them that I could eat at cuisine at the time of check-in. (Someone should have corrected it if I was wrong to understand that breakfast was only available at the lounge, but it wasn't.) Another male staff member came and took a picture of my platinum mobile card on my phone before I informed me that I could eat. I felt so bad to be so-called humiliated when everyone else was watching. I went to pick up more food without finishing my meal, and I had a ridiculous experience (with my earphone case positioned so I could see the word table occupied) that the staff removed my seat and left my earphone case at the breakfast counter. Due to this experience, I have no intention of repurchasing or renewing Chinese Accor Gold cards in the future. I hope there will be improvements in the future.

As an Accor Platinum member, I once considered Sofitel Sanya one of the best Accor properties in Asia—let alone China. During COVID, I even spent several months here and previously gave it a glowing review for its immaculate grounds and thoughtful design. Unfortunately, my recent stay has been a complete disappointment and it feels like the hotel has lost touch with the Sofitel brand entirely. The Club Lounge has deteriorated into something more like a fast-food outlet, serving chicken nuggets and frozen dumplings, with loud music blasting inside while additional music from outside competes across the property. Guests openly smoke in the lounge with no intervention from staff—completely unacceptable in 2025. Security guards on the property are unnecessarily aggressive, treating guests as if they were intruders. The bed in my room was visibly dirty upon arrival, which is shocking for any hotel, let alone a Sofitel. Even worse, guests are bringing in commercial photographers who not only scream across the property while taking pictures but also tell other paying guests where they can and cannot go—just so someone can get their Instagram photos. This is beyond disruptive and shows a complete lack of management control. Adding to the disappointment, many of the once-beautiful flowering trees across the grounds have been cut down to bare skeletons, stripping away the lush tropical charm that made this property special. To make matters worse, the lobby has been filled with cheap fake flowers and artificial grass—a baffling choice for a tropical resort. It’s hard to believe how far downhill this property has gone since my last visit. Without the peaceful, thoughtful atmosphere and attention to quality that Sofitel is supposed to represent, this hotel no longer feels worthy of the brand name. Serious rebranding or management changes may be necessary.

Sadly this resort is 2 stars worth, and expect your self to feel scammed. The location and the place are really nice, however there is no aircon in the lobby and the mall, room aircon is Banana and it will needs to run for 5 hours to cool the room, the Internet is not safe here since they filter all the data through the server for data collection and use them for third party, besides that I called them many times about the Internet was so slow and they keep telling me they will ask the technicians to increase the speed. Expect silly shows like they walk slowly to light candles and things like that, they charge for everything here so nothing is free, I had to pay many extra fees, the buffet was very limited when it comes to food, they have some low budget performances for kids so don't expect much here. Expect them to cut your Internet when you use the VPN and I give-up doing some work since you don't have privacy when you use thier Internet. They have game room and race track but the cars are made for kids only and the prices are very expensive here. The hotel employees are very nice and struggle to help since the top managements are super low budget.

The Sofitel is a luxury hotel with ample space and a close proximity to the beach. Our stay with our child was thoroughly enjoyable. We have visited several other Sofitels in Europe, America, and Africa. Unfortunately, the hotel is promoting rooms with the renowned Sofitel MyBed, which was not the case in our room. The bed was typical, not a MyBed, and the mattress was quite uncomfortable with overly soft pillows, manufactured by Slumberland, which was disappointing. Another issue we encountered was with the buffet. While recognizing that the majority of guests were Chinese, we expected a wider variety of food options at a Sofitel, a part of the French group Accor. We were greatly disappointed with the dinner buffet, as the selection of Western food was extremely limited. There was a scarcity of basic items such as bread, cheese, mineral or filtered water, and a notable absence of local fruits. The quality of pastries was lacking, with few options available, and even the lunch buffet was closed, leaving only the choice between a Thai or Chinese restaurant. In conclusion, I do not recommend this hotel to foreign guests due to the limited food offerings and the language barrier, as approximately 90% of the staff did not speak English. However, we appreciated the efforts of the staff who made an attempt to communicate with us through translation tools. Despite these shortcomings, we did enjoy the nightly entertainment and thank you for providing that.

Beautiful hotel and service BUT was extremely extremely disappointed with the security standards there! I attended a family member wedding ceremony there and brought some of our expensive liquor there to be served during the wedding reception. A very expensive bottle of liquor was stolen! We collected some wedding gifts in cash and my wife kept it in her handbag during the dinner. During the dinner, she has to go out to collect food from the buffet dinner and the wedding gifts were stolen! The hotel couldn't do much or that I have observed they tried hard to help us. We do not expect such a low level of security standard for such a so called 'good' hotel. If you do go and stay there. Guard your valuables with your life!

Visited this place in January 2025. Very good location. If you ask for a room with a sea view, you will be granted the option to admire the sunrise and sunset every day. The rooms are large and comfortable. And equipped not only with a shower, but also with a bathtub, where you can sit and admire the view from the balcony. All facilities are up to date. The design is very discreet and beautiful. A lot of natural materials used. The breakfast is more than perfect. The territory is very well designed, spacious and clean. Nice sandy beach, clean and beautiful sea. All the staff are well trained and customer friendly. They have some problems with English, however you can have the option to set up any issues by using your smartfon for translation. The hotel is not overcrowded and this is one of the main reasons to stay here)

Gosh people can be so critical … I have no idea why anyone could find anything wrong with this hotel. Arrival at reception was smooth, front desk was very helpful and got us into our ocean view room. Rooms themselves very clean and comfortable, absolutely loved the shower. The balcony gave us a great view of the grounds and the ocean. The pools and the beach are the star of this hotel, plenty of loungers in both spots, big fluffy towels, you can get bar and food service to any location where you’re sitting. The sand in the beach is clean and you can cover 7am from the hotel out on this long stretch of heaven. There are a couple of nice restaurants on the property, and the breakfast buffet is stocked with lots of local and western options. I’d happily come back to stay here and enjoy this great location with awesome amenities.

Zero service for this price. Disaster. This is not a 5 stars experience of Marriott chain( I can compare with Marriott in Da nang( Vietnam) 1000 times better and cheaper!) Breakfast is very overcrowded. Food is good but don’t expect fresh juices or normal water or tea! Plastic cups, dishes these are not 5 stars standards. Dirty carts( full of dishes ) literally close to your table(disgusting). Coffee machines for a coffee in a 5 stairs chain- ridiculous! Zero control from the hotel of random people coming from Pullman hotel and occupying sun beds of Marriott hotel! As well very annoying sellers on the beach ( literally coming and standing close to you and asking you to buy ice cream or fruits 20 times per day) and what’s more all these strangers are using the facilities of the hotel. Unbelievable. Toilet near by the beach is a nightmare! Smelly, dirty and everyone is using, including all these strangers from the beach. You can’t leave any of your belongings unattended! They stole my personal towel even. It’s a joke! This is 3 stars standards but definitely not a 5 stars!

It's known for its flexible pricing, allowing visitors to bargain for discounts ranging from 30% to 50%. In addition to agricultural products, the market also features Chinese eateries, stalls selling household goods, spices, sauces, oils, and more.

(Translated by Google) In general, it’s a regular big bazaar, somewhat reminiscent of our Green Market, only with a marine twist. If your goal is to buy fresh fruit or seafood, this is the place to go. * Fruit. The selection is excellent, mango, dragon fruit, lychee – everything is in place. But the price is per half a kilo. * Seafood. Shrimp, fish, all kinds of shellfish – alive, moving. The scheme is convenient: choose, buy, and they will cook it for you right there in the cafe next door. But be prepared that it’s wet in these rows and there’s a specific smell. 🦐 * Bargaining. Bargaining is a must. For tourists, the price is initially named with a reserve. Take your time, walk around, estimate the prices. Taking out a calculator and showing your price is normal practice. 📱 This is not a place for walks, but a purely functional point. Noisy, crowded, bustling. Stop by, quickly stock up and leave – that’s its direct purpose. 👍

(Translated by Google) Small night market open at night. Nothing interesting. There is dirt, garbage, and a terrible stench everywhere. In the middle of the street there are pavilions with various consumer goods - T-shirts, scarves, hats, etc. etc. There are also many eateries with Chinese food, of which there are many everywhere. But due to the terrible smell from numerous trash cans, the desire to eat is completely discouraged. I also had no desire to buy anything because of the feeling of a big dump. Don't waste your time, there's nothing interesting here. You can get there from Dadonghai Bay by bus 2 and 8. After the second bridge, the first stop is after turning right. Tip: download an off-line Chinese translator at home. Very helpful. The Chinese don't understand English at all. That is, absolutely. And we are theirs, respectively. Or - learn to play "crocodile" - it will be fun and you will have something to remember. Good luck to everyone and have a nice trip! Let's leave the likes and enjoy life! (Translated by Google) They write here that this is a premium hotel, but this is not entirely true. As a travel agent with 17 years of experience, I can say that VIP tourists can get upset. Yes, a good 5 no more. Considering that in Hainan the service as a whole is not a strong link. There is a huge cool area here, there is a shallow calm sea, there are no corrals in the form of buoys and constantly whistling lifeguards. This makes me happy. But the hotel looks a little abandoned. The paths are poorly swept, the main pool is not super clean and the breakfast is not very varied. Breakfast is not at all comparable to a premium hotel. But! Nice villas, not super stylish, but large and all in good condition. Large swimming pool. The villa is a pleasure to be in. Moreover, it is significantly cheaper than living in villas in popular Phuket. And the climate in Hainan was much more comfortable for me than in Phuket. There is no terrible humidity. Overall the hotel left a very pleasant impression. The service is pleasant.

The villas are closed by high fences, with their own swimming pools. The room has direct access to the pool and has its own sun loungers. Upon request, you can organize dinner near your pool, very romantic. There are not many vacationers, or maybe because the area is large and you can’t really see anyone. Excellent spa center, great massage. In a word, I recommend it to those who want a relaxing, beach holiday. Located in the fast-growing Haitang Bay complex, about 28km north of Sanya City, The Sanya EDITION is a luxurious retreat that opened its doors in December 2016. This upscale hotel sits on a sprawling 50-acre estate with stunning views of the emerald seas and sandy beaches. Designed to cater to both adults seeking relaxation and families with energetic kids, the property offers semi-private spaces for couples and designated areas for children to play safely.
Beautiful hotel with very nice staff. We tried the BBQ restaurant, which serves Balinese food. The setting is pleasant, with your feet in the sand, and the value for money is excellent. We had an amazing server who spoke perfect English. There is also a live music band to whom you can make song requests; they impressed me as they can perform anything. Truly a great experience, and you can easily come with children.

Mass-market “luxury”. Way overpriced during peak season. The general hotel feel was quantity over quality. The choices at hotel breakfast were massive, yet none were particularly good. They need a massive breakfast given the huge amount of rooms. Quality of hotel fixtures and fittings were lower than expected. The curtains don’t close properly and leak a lot of light. Many sockets were broken and you can’t even jam your plug in. Doors was squeaky and slammed shut. Our mini-fridge was also broken and was not at all cold - odd that this issue was not noticed and fixed given the staff must refill the fridge frequently. This caused us to lose a whole day of breastmilk that my wife had pumped. We told the hotel and they showed zero empathy and didn’t even bother to make things right. The checkin and checkout process took over 20mins - way too little staff for the amount of bureaucracy that is involved with check-in. Activities and kids play area items felt like cheap items purchased off Taobao. The restaurants, especially Market, had terrible a-la-carte food at even more terrible prices. The Hainan Chicken was awful: overcooked, stringy, dry, and the sauces and chicken rice were poor. Dinner buffet was very expensive for, again, high quantity, low quality.

We had the pleasure of visiting Sanya Edition in mid-June, and we cannot stop reminiscing about our experience! The service was exceptional, with warm and attentive staff who truly made us feel special. Our stay was delightful and we felt pampered by Sanya Edition team. A special mention to Jordi, the manager, who was incredibly friendly and approachable. Having a private concierge, Liam, was a tremendous asset; he catered to our needs and kept us informed about ongoing events. At the sky bar, we appreciated how observant the staff were regarding our preferences, even providing us with cashew nuts to take away! We particularly loved dining at our favorite restaurant, Egret. Not only did they serve delicious food rich with culinary stories, but they also shared insights from their food exploration experiences and personalised my drinks! My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we want to express our gratitude to Sanya Edition. Keep up the fantastic work!

Had the luxury of staying here in March for a beautiful wedding. Immaculate hotel, everything was perfect, staff extremely friendly, it’s a massive place, rooms are beautiful, villas are super neat, views are spectacular, food is absolutely delightful. The beach club was my favourite spot. Only strange thing to me was no swimming allowed in the ocean, which as a North American felt different to what I’m used to. Regardless a wonderful vacation spot.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! It’s massive, with a beautiful lake full of big fish where you can kayak, paddleboard, or even ride water cycles. There’s a fun water play area for kids and a manmade beach that offers kayaking and SUP classes. There is also a shuttle services to get around the hotel. The service has been outstanding, and the restaurants serve amazing food. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great getaway. Even when the hotel is full, it never feels crowded because there’s so much space to enjoy.

Disappointing and disrespectful handling of payments – not what you expect from a high-end hotel I recently stayed at Santa Edition Hotel on a business trip booked and fully paid through an agency. Despite this, the hotel pre-authorized not only the full room charge on my credit card but an additional deposit of approximately 150 gbp per day . This added up to a substantial hold on my credit card even though the stay was prepaid through an agency. We had to get back with our agency to get clarity. The hotel staff then admitted that the stay had indeed been paid in full and assured us nothing would be charged and the hold on my credit card would be resolved in a few days. Despite that, a few days later the hotel charged my card the full room rate plus currency transaction fee – and the original hold roomrate and deposit is still blocked. I was told I can reclaim this through my company, in the meantime but that's not the point. For a hotel of this supposed caliber, this is completely unacceptable. The communication was vague, the burden of proof was on me, and no one took real accountability until I pushed for answers. The stay itself may have been comfortable, but this kind of financial handling leaves a sour aftertaste. For potentially business trips to Sanya in future I will insist on a different hotel.

Nature & Parks
Hiking Trails
Yalong Bay Tropic Paradise Forest Park is located 25km southeast of Sanya, surrounding the renowned Yalong Bay National Tourist Resort. With an investment of RMB 1.9 billion, it stands as the first tropical coastal forest park for mountain ecological sightseeing and ecological tourism in Hainan Province. The park offers nature and ecology-focused attractions, including zip lines and a glass walkway through the treetops with stunning views of Yalong Bay.
Good Organization and Professional Service Right from the start, it’s clear that the park is well-prepared for tourists. Parking can take a bit of time, as it is four levels high and located on the side of a hill. However, local authorities in black uniforms and helpful police officers effectively manage the traffic, making it easy to find a spot even during peak hours. The descent from level 3 of the parking lot to the main gate involves stairs with several terraces, where you can already enjoy stunning views of the area. The stairs are wooden so it's a good idea to wear good, non-slip shoes, especially if it’s wet or raining. The hike on the mountain's stone paths also requires proper footwear, as the terrain can be slippery and uneven. The main reception -you can find informational brochures in Chinese, English, and Russian languages which makes it easier for foreign tourists to navigate. Pricing and Tickets The entrance fee is variable, depending on the season –off-season prices are lower. The entrance ticket includes bus rides throughout the park, which is very convenient for those who want to see all the main points without walking long distances. Additional attractions such as: - Glass Terrace - Hanging Bridge - 3D Cinema are charged separately, with prices ranging from 60 to 100 yuan per person, depending on the attraction. Important note Drones are not allowed and photography of the base is prohibited. At the summit, you can take photos in the half-sphere, but avoid taking pictures of the base. Amenities in the Park At the main entrance, there are very clean and well-equipped toilets, which is a great convenience for visitors. There is also a designated smoking area, as most areas of the park have a no-smoking policy. Traveling Up the Hills. The journey up the hills is done by small buses which do not have walls, only steel railings** and plastic seats with seat belts. I recommend fastening your seatbelt, checking your pockets, and securing your bags well to prevent items like phones, keys, or cards from falling out during the ride. The buses travel on narrow, winding roads, with some turns having 180° reversals. Each stop is well-marked, and park staff assist with getting on and off the bus, guiding tourists to the right direction for sightseeing. Attractions and Views Upon reaching the summit of the park, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Yalong Bay. From the various viewpoints, you can admire the azure waters of the ocean, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Glass Bridge – This is one of the most exciting attractions in the park. Walking on the transparent surface high above the ground provides unforgettable thrills and is an ideal spot for photos. - Hanging Bridge – This offers a unique way to explore the rainforest, providing a stunning view of nature from an exceptional perspective. Those with a fear of heights may struggle, as the bridge sways and strong winds may make it more challenging. The number of people on the bridge can prevent a quick exit, which can be an issue for some visitors. Exotic Flora and Fauna – The park is home to many tropical plants, birds, and small animals, making it a true pleasure for nature lovers to walk through. - Orchid Avenue– This is a spot particularly worth visiting. have never seen such a large number of orchids growing in one place before Accommodation Options on the Hills It’s also worth mentioning that there is the option to rent a cabin on the hills, known as the Bird Resort. Although I don't know the exact prices, it’s an interesting option for those who want to spend more time in this amazing place and enjoy the views of Yalong Bay from a unique perspective. Tourist Infrastructure There are small shops in the park that offer cold and hot drinks as well as snacks. A bottle of water costs around 10 10 yuan, and rice rolls with bacon wrapped in banana leaves are available for 20 yuan. Drinks are sold with a reasonable markup, but prices are still affordable and easy to access.

Staying at the Bird’s Nest Hotel was such a unique and unforgettable experience. Each room is built on the edge of a mountain cliff, which sounded a bit nerve-wracking at first, but the incredible views of the ocean quickly made up for it. Our room was perched over 400 meters above sea level, and the cool breeze during Sanya’s winter made it feel so refreshing and peaceful. One of my favorite parts was having breakfast at the restaurant located at the peak of the mountain. Every morning, we were treated to a stunning panoramic view that made the day feel extra special. Our room had a cozy balcony where we would gather in the evenings for small chats and drinks. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, perfect for 2-4 people, though the shared door for the toilet and bathroom was a bit awkward. The hotel itself is quite an adventure! You need to climb stairs and slopes to get to most areas, which could be challenging if you’re not used to it. Dragon Park was a beautiful spot, offering incredible views of Yalong Bay, but honestly, I preferred enjoying the views from our own balcony. For the thrill-seekers, there’s a glass walkway along the cliff and a hanging swing bridge 400 meters high that connects two mountains. I’ll admit, it took some courage to cross, but the photos were definitely worth it! My son even took the flying fox ride from the mountain peak down to the base—I was tempted, but we chose to hike instead, which was its own kind of adventure. The hotel staff were friendly and provided shuttle buses to move guests around, but the small, plastic-seated buses weren’t the most comfortable, especially with the drivers’ speedy turns on the winding mountain roads. Still, it added to the overall charm of the trip. In the evenings, we walked out to explore local restaurants nearby, which were all quite decent. Looking back, it was such a special stay—challenging at times, but filled with unique moments and memories that we’ll cherish forever.

If you're in Yalong bay, you should definitely check this place out for the views. The price is high - we paid 228 per person. The bus stops along the way, I recommend you get out on all the stops on the way to the top. The rope bridge and glass bridges are both the star of the show. However, it's super weird on the glass bridge, there will be people, signs and audio blasting out 'do not take photos of military instillations' every 2 minutes. This is because they put the glass bridge overlooking a naval base - if you don't want people to see it, why build the glass bridge? Odd

We reached the place from our hotel in Sanya (Care Coast Hotel) by taxi S$ 15.00. We were not able to visit all attractions since I was above age 75. The restriction is applied due to the height and some risk which I don't agree with. So we ended up taking the simple tour with the bus. S$ 29.00 for both of us. It was a sunny day but going up the hill one could feel the wind and the slight chilli air. It is recommended to dress accordingly. The view from the top was nice but nothing spectacular. Luckily we caught a taxi back to our hotel.

There are a few activities to do here. We took a Didi here. Foreigners can buy tickets directly at the manual counter. Can show digital passport photo for their processing. Basically to check the age. Free for kids below 6 years old, according to birth date. Discounted tickets for seniors above 60 years old. Tickets are not cheap but worth a go. Went during the June period and it's their low peak season. Very hot and humid but few people and tour groups. Do bring sunblock and mosquito repellent. I chose these 3 activities to complete. 1) Glass bridge (3rd bus station) 2) Suspension bridge (2nd bus station) 3) 6D movie which is 7 minutes long (3rd bus station) The other activities seems fun! But I'm bringing 2 kids who are 6 and below and a senior above 60. Hence, the above 3 activities mentioned are good enough. Free coconut milk and coffee sampling. Of cos they are going to ask you to buy their products but you can just ignore them. 🙃 The shuttle bus ride has 3 stations. Very rollercoaster like rides with experienced drivers along winding mountain roads. We took the bus all the way to the peak of the moutain (3rd station) and slowly worked our way down. Damn scary and my little kids held on to their seat belts. Children have to take the inner seats, in case they fall off the bus.

Nice beach, clean, you can ride on hydrikis and that’s it. If you are not interested in the sea, then there is nothing to do here. A lot of people and a very boring beach. Lots of places to eat, hot pots, McDonald's, KFC, hotel restaurants. You can walk to the lighthouse and take beautiful photos. Of interest will be the park that is adjacent to this beach through a tunnel. A pretty hotel with gorgeous views! Rooms are spacious. It is right on the bay and the hotel offers transfer cars to get to the SanYa city. It is a little bit of old and outdated but the view is worth it!

The JW Marriott Hotel Sanya Dadonghai Bay is a luxurious hotel with airy rooms, some offering stunning sea views. The property consists of two wings, one of which is a newer construction boasting a picturesque view of the bay. The hotel places a strong emphasis on family-friendly amenities and also caters to conferences and meetings. While it's conveniently located near various attractions, it still offers a sense of seclusion.
good service by eva. was a bit annoyed when she told us the previous hotel had not confirmed our checkout hours after we had left, so she could not check us in. she helped call them multiple times to resolve this. room was nice but a/c runs intermittently, affecting my sleep a lot, being the main downside. buffet breakfast was mid. i enjoyed the small, clean balcony though, as well as the shower.

Worst Marriott hotel experience ever! I received message that my room was ready at noon. Went to check in at usual hotel check in time of 3pm. Did all the usual routine until after I swipe my credit card. The guy suddenly said the room is not ready and we have to wait a few minutes. We sat at lobby for 15min then the guy said the room is still not ready. He gave us a room key and said we can rest at a room until our room was ready. We arrived at a small standard room and sat that for almost an hour (already almost 4:30pm). I sense something was really wrong and called front desk. Not to my surprise they have absolutely no idea what was going on. I asked for the hotel manager and some lady called back. I can tell she still has no idea what was going on and I had to repeat the story again. After 10 minutes, finally someone came and brought us to a room that we have paid for. I am quite sure someone gave our room to someone else. I've never encountered that in any Marriott group hotels before. The room has a nice view, which we paid for. But the shower is mouldy. Next day morning we checked out heading to the airport. I asked the concierge guy to get us a taxi. My mandarin might not be native but I have worked with China clients for 20 years. That guy just completely ignore us. When we saw a taxi and went out to grab it, he chase us out and said we have to wait in line. It's 8am and the lobby was empty! Even the taxi guy said it's absurd. We got on the taxi and the driver said the concierge must want us to use his usual "dodgy taxi". I urge you not to book this hotel! There are many other choices at this area and I hope no one has to endure our bad experience. I didn't write this at the usual Marriott "how was your stay" email as I'm sure it goes back to the same people that ruin this hotel.

I just reached the hotel and having a worst experience at this hour in night. No one at the entry to help you with the luggage. No bell boy. Being an elite gold member our family have to lug the luggage our self to lobby. No staff available. Finally a non English speaking personal arrives and doesn't understand the room we booked. I booked a premium ocean view room but had to do lot of translation to Finally get a room which faces big buildings instead of sea. No welcome drinks nothing at 1 a clock in night. The whole hotel just had two executive at reception . Now we are checked in a room of hotel's choice even though I paid for premium room. There is literally no sea which is shown on hotels website. So so disappointed that I chose this hotel for my vacations. My holidays are spoiled. No manager or a person here that we can talk to or discuss our problem. I do not recommend anyone to come to this hotel as no service at all. All my money is waste. I am stuck here with no staff. We are left to be on our own. Marriott group needs to look into this seriously. What the point being loyal to the group if this is the treatment as a member I am getting leave alone non members. I need someone from the hotel to connect asap for room number 815 and 831.

Great place to stay, especially if you’re family with kids as they have a big kids club. The only main downside is no beach with sand access near by. The welcome wasn’t so great either, we arrived quite late after 2 am because of flight delay. The night shift reception do not speak English, and barely gave us information. Being a platinum member, the welcome wasn’t great at all.

Disappointed by my stay here. I booked a Deluxe Double Room for 2 nights. Posting this on my first night. Room is visibly aged. Service is good and it has all the amenities that you would expect of a 5 star hotel of this stature, but the rooms are far below standard. Recommend not to stay here, pick somewhere newer! 1. Tear in the day curtain being stitched back and still used 2. Very visible scratches on the floor Not pictured: tear in pillowcase that is still being used; joinery of bathroom showerhead is loose. I hope I don't find more signs of wear and tear.

2 star goes to the room - the room is old, but definitely not the worst I’ve seen in Sanya. My only complaint goes to the AC. AC is not cold enough. I kept mine on 24 hours and set it to 20C and it never reached to the temperature. The AC machine is loud if you are sensitive to noise, you have to decide whether you want to hear loud noise and keep the room cool OR you want to turn it off and let the room temp rise over time. We had two rooms, in one room, if you open the balcony door, the AC will automatically TURNED OFF. you need to turn it back on once you come back inside. The whole hotel is actually not cool enough, I get it it’s located in sub-tropical area and the lobby is sort of open to air. Another down side of the room to me is that is not sound isolation/ sound proof. I can clearly hear the kids banging the doors in my neighboring room. The hotel is supposed to be smoke free, but the tenants of my connection room DO SMOKE and the smell of smoke came into my room. Thankfully he didn’t smoke at night. 5 star goes to service - All of the service people that I have ever encountered are very polite and nice. Service are fast and reacted in timely manner, perhaps because I stayed during off peak season. There is no direct walkable beach as other people mentioned, but there is a beach can be reachable with a few minutes of walk. Take this into consideration of you do mind about beach access. Didn’t use the pool, cannot comment on that.
Fil O — Google review
Great hotel! The breakfast and club lounge were solid and offered a great selection of food. The hotel is located in a really cool area with tons of beaches, shops, cafes, and bars just a few minutes away by foot. The service was severely lacking… partly the language barrier and partly just staff being rude, but everything else is solid.
Mike D — Google review
This hotel gets 4 stars. Here is why. 1) the hotel does NOT have a beach but it is waterfront. 👎🏻 2) the pool is full of kids and they don’t set up a chair for you, they only give you towels. You also CANNOT buy sunscreen anywhere on the property. 👎🏻 3) several speaking English employees which was good 👍🏻 4) good location 👍🏻 5) beautiful room, nice bathroom, awesome bathtub, and beautiful view 👍🏻 6) bed was too hard. Pillows too thin. 👎🏻 7) nice hotel and beautiful lobby. 👍🏻 Not worth the value. I would go to another hotel that’s beachfront.

The Shanhaitian Resort Sanya, Autograph Collection is a chic hotel located in Dadonghai Bay, just a short drive from Luhuitou Park. The property offers minimalist rooms and suites, along with amenities such as dining options, bars, and a spa. Guests can also enjoy the outdoor pool and free WiFi in public areas. Additionally, the hotel features beach access and a full-service spa for relaxation.
A beautiful hotel that can be a great value and offers striking views of the ocean in comfortable, modern rooms. I had a two night stay here right after the Golden Week peak period. The hotel is strikingly designed from the moment you see it up to the individual rooms. Probably one of the best views in the area and along a stretch of beach that sees a lot less traffic. It's not the type of beach that you'll want to play on (more rocky than sandy) but a short walk away will be that type of beach. For Marriott elites, the hotel's breakfast is one of the better ones I've seen in China. And the best part is their breakfast policy, the hours last all the way until 2 PM which is great for those on vacation. The pools are fantastic as well, with excellent design and great vistas. I was very, very pleased with everything except for the fact that the gym is not 24 hours. If you want to use the gym at night, you'll have to go to the adjacent JW, which also offered reciprocal pool access to those at the Shanhaitian when I stayed there.

The staff at Autograph made this one of the best hotels we had ever stayed in. Eric, the manager was amazing, so professional and went out of his way to help us. Gavin, May and Fay made breakfast time really wonderful, went out of their way to add personal touches every morning. We highly recommend this hotel, ideal for swimming, gymming and close to the beach.

Rosewood Sanya is a luxurious beachfront resort that offers a serene escape with its spa, rooftop infinity pool, and five upscale restaurant/bars. Situated across from Wuzhizhou island in Haitang Bay, the resort's architecture resembles a modern high-rise fused with elements of a cruise ship, surrounded by well-manicured gardens and leafy walkways.
Although we have known the Rosewood brand for a long time, we were still surprised by the Sanya resort. We’ve been to Rosewood in London, Beijing and Tuscany and the Rosewood Sanya is a fantastic addition to the list! A big thank you to all the staff who provided a magnificent holiday experience for us. We didn’t leave the hotel for even one day and were very happy spending our days by the pool. The food is fantastic, especially the European restaurant which offers great steak with a perfect environment. Also we won’t forget the signature Negroni! The sky pool is truly an art piece and we spent seven days in and around the pool. The spa is a great way to relax after a long flight. Perfect hotel for couples to spend a lovely holiday together. A MUST GO HOTEL IN ASIA.
J Z — Google review
Had slightly higher expectations for being a rosewood, but was less refined that imagined. Rooms were large and comfortable, although some minor wear and tear. The breakfast area was ok and had fish tanks but didn’t really feel 5 star. Location is a bit random and there’s not much to do around. There’s a pool on the roof but not much to do.
W F — Google review
Planned a 4 days 3 nights stay at Rosewood and checked out immediately after one night stay. A huge dead cockroach was found upon checking in, which was a major turn off. The front desk was unapologetic. Room was changed with no upgrade. Breakfast was a nightmare. Clearly, the hotel is shorthanded during breakfast. We have to look for a waiter to order coffee and our orders are not taken down. After constant reminder, our drinks are served. What's worse. I ordered a bowl of noodle from the buffet counter, was told to come back 3 mins later. When I went back to collect, the chef told me there's no more noodle. We checked out of the hotel right after our breakfast. Poor service.
J J — Google review
We went for the grilled restaurant located at the nice ground landscaping area. The atmosphere is just terrific! Restaurant's music is a bit loud. Yet the food and the staffs service just never disappointed us! One of the staffs named Amber is very considered and service minded. It is rare to find high qualited food and service people in hotels of Hainan island. Being taken, being home with sincerity. Only Rosewood can make it.
Addy L — Google review
The inhouse internet allows access to Facebook, Gmail, Twitter and Google. For this reason alone, I will stay in this hotel in the future. Other hotels requires the use of a VPN and using VPN by an individual to bypass censorship may be technically illegal in China. Hotel feels new, is new and have an airy sophisticated feel. The infinity pool at the top of the hotel is perfect for picture taking so is the ground floor pool surrounded by a well manicure garden. The Sense spa has a calming ambience. Would recommend you try the massage options incorporating local traditions. I had the best spa in this hotel over others establishment. Booked an entry level pool suite and an entry level room for the family. Both are very nice and met my expectation. A spot for improvement is Rosewood use old school power sockets which does not accept all power points across the world. This can be a minor inconvenience for overseas travellers as you may need a power adaptor. I was the only guest at the flagship Fish restaurant for lunch and the only table at East Restaurant serving South East Asia cuisine for dinner. Food was good, not fabulous and expensive. For similar food at half the price, there is a massive food mall consisting of many restaurants about 1km metres from the hotel and they offer free pickup. I may be wrong but I don't think there is a play area for kids in the hotel like many hotels in Sanya other than the beach area. All in all, a solid new hotel for all, a must stay hotel for couple who love selfies and travellers who need access to Western social media and Gmail. RT 5/5/19

me and wife stayed there for a couple nights. the first morning my wife was asked if we would have any laundry. my wife asked the staff if it was included in the room package or was free of charge which the staff replied was free and only express delivery was extra. so gave her a couple items. at checkout we received the bill for the laundry which we were told at pickup was for free. we argued with them and they even acknowledged that it was due to their poor staff training which led to this incident but would still charge us for the full amount which was 250rmb. i feel deeply mislead by the hotel and in no way to compensate for a mistake made by the hotel. btw my wife is chinese and a native mandarin speaker so there is no excuse of a language misunderstanding. Breakfast restaurant is also way too small for that capacity , i had to wait twice around 20 minutes . never happened before in any hotel. the staff in restaurant is also very poorly trained as nobody asks for beverage orders . very disappointed , wasted my time and money on a developing project

Breakfast was decent while there is no option for Indian food. We can manage with lot of fruits and other options available.

The location is very good and the area of this hotel is huge. However the rooms are very dissapointing with broken doors and moldy bathrooms everywhere. Reception is not helpful at all. Only upside is plenty facilities for children. I also see rats next to the breakfast restaurant in the morning. I would not come back to this one for sure. The Marriott next door is far far better.
Yang A — Google review
It is an aging, solid 4-star resort in need of major renovation. Location in Yalong Bay is perfect: calm sea , clean and sandy beach, guarded swimming area. Neighboring Hai Tang Bay has more modern resorts but the sea is rather stormy there, waves could reach up to 3 meters high. There is a cozy park in the hotel with several swimming pools, including 25 meters lap pool with three lanes. Rooms are spacey and clean although shower cabins have obvious mold under the tiles. Staff is friendly and hardworking but quite reserved in their offers to compensate for room problems. There are many international guests and one can hear languages like English, Russian, French, Chinese and some others spoken around. Everybody looks relaxed and happy. We stayed there for New Year vacation and hotel staff organized a nice party for the guests with food, drinks and live entertainment (-$120 per person). Hotel management was present at the party too and apparently had a good Champagne served to them while other guests were served with a cheap sparkling wine and bluntly denied Champagne which looked rather pathetic. Breakfast at the hotel was good and for all tastes Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and would likely come back.

There was a dead bird in advanced state of decomposition in the main lobby fountain. Put the "do not disturb" sign on my door to let my toddlers nap. In typical third world mindset the cleaning lady came knocking at the door and shout at 1000 decibels to offer to change our towels. Not a big deal but the wifi had me resign in at least 10 times a day, which was pretty annoying. Apart from that the hotel was generally clean. The room was ample and clean. Breakfast was good enough, pools were clean. If you bring children on the beach you'll be constantly harassed by people selling overpriced toys and not taking no for an answer.

Very spacious. But the water in swimming pools were not very inviting. We could see algae growing around it. The food in their restaurant was decent but expect slow extremely slow service. A lot of food were sold out during normal dining hours. The best part of this is it is within 5 minutes walk from golf course. They even provide free shuttle.

Just arrived in the hotel, requested a single large bed they only had twin. Requested a balcony they said oh last minute change sir, but the worst part is the fact that the whole hotel is still under construction, it is noisy and impossible to rest during the day. I don’t know how will I be able to stay 4 more days here it’s already very hard( If you are looking for rest, this hotel is not where that can be found.

We stayed at this resort for 2 nights in March 2023 and cannot recommend it highly enough. As a non Chinese speaking foreigner it can sometimes be problematic travelling in the mainland. This resort made every effort to make us feel welcome, in every interaction with the staff. The hotel is very well maintained and very stylish and Chic. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a visit and I will definitely return. We ate in most of the restaurants and bars and everything was first rate. Fantastic pool and great beach front with safe swimming beach not always a given in Hainan.

The hotel locates beside the Sunny Bay which should be driven to. It is very privacy. On the other hand, it is very far away from the other restaurants. The culinary of all the restaurants whthin hotel is just so so which means it is not valuable to pay. It is barely known that the hot pot restaurant was opened in a top luxury hotel. The Mocktail and snack is just fine or I should say it is not as good as those small tea shop in the city.
Rabbit H — Google review
While others have praised the hotel’s design. I believe the biggest drawback is the hotels design and architecture itself. The resort is unnecessarily large for no reason and doesn’t best utilize its the space, resulting in a very large empty hotel that lacks any soul or vibe, creating an underwhelming experience. What’s missing are cozy cabanas or sitting areas where couples of families will want to sit and spend hours at. We ended up just going back to the room as there weren’t many places you’d want to ‘relax’ at. The hotel could have more shops or another restaurant to provide variety and fill up some of the spaces, as currently, all the hotel really seems to offer are extremely long and large hallways with not a lot to see in between getting from one spot to another. More activities and events could also be on offer to guests for a truly enjoyable resort experience. Having said all that, the staff were exceptional, including Edwin and Caroline, but perhaps the hotel offering and design is just a bit outdated and will find itself hard to compete against newer developments on the island.

This is an excellent resort. The room was large and comfortable, the furniture was a little 'tired', but it had a great bathroom. Really disappointing to see a nice hotel being run by such terrible staff. From check in to check out and every instance in the middle, I was constantly surprised at the lack of hospitality all staff offered. Even basic politeness to guests wasn't there at all. It was also probably good to note that absolutely everyone was in their early late teens / early 20s. That just shows a huge lack of training and a complete disregard to being guest focussed. I constantly travel in China and speak Chinese so there is no language barrier but this goes down as the worst customer service of any Marriott I've ever been in. Whoever is running that place needs to bring in an adult and start some proper guest focussed training ...

I had stayed at Howard Johnson for 5 days as a chaperon of school trip. The hotel was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The best part of this hotel were staff members, they were extraordinary kind and helpful. I am used to be one of very demanding and high maintenance guest even 5 stars there were little attitude for annoying guest;) but there I never got any attitude but a willful helping hand. The highlight was I lost my iphone at last moment of my departure. I track my phone at the hotel however I ran out of time, had to leave to Shanghai without my phone. I speak no Mandarin, tried to call or e-mail but couldn't reach to hotel, it was very struggling myself, then my home phone rang from those one of nice hotel receptionist, Nancy, fortunately she spoke almost perfect English, she had helped me for 3 hours to figure out how to send my phone back to Shanghai. Use hotel phone, my home phone, my spouse contact, back and forth, that was such complicated situation especially I could not explain my address in Mandarin, she could dump away this to our trip guide who could not reach at the moment. She made couple clever ideas, helped me right away. I really appreciate for this help also how she was willing to stepped in my trouble. Thank you so much!!

Hotel was nice. They do not have much English speaking staff. Were not able to help me with usb power adapter. Not able to exchange currency because my bills were old. Breakfast buffet was very good and the pool, pond with fish to eat your dead skin, spa was nice.

(Translated by Google) First time visiting Hainan. We stayed at the HOWARD JOHNSON RESORT SANYA BAY 5. It was love at first sight. The hotel is wonderful. We lived on the 2nd floor in room 0213. We had 2 rooms. 2 TVs. 2 kondeya. Sound insulation is good. and everything worked fine. The area is large and all green. The room stock is excellent. Rooms are cleaned every day. Replenishment of coffee, tea, creamer every day. In the bathroom, all hygiene items are also replenished every day. I did not observe mold or dampness anywhere. I read in the reviews that the person arrived and the shelves were dirty. I checked it specially upon check-in. Everything was sterile clean. And the Chinese, by the way, did not cause any trouble at all. Everyone is on vacation with their children. Everyone is friendly. We had breakfast. The choice is huge. The menu changed every day. The pools are clean. There aren't many sunbeds, but there were always places. You can borrow swimming circles for free. The staff are all wonderful. The hotel's location for transportation is excellent. There is an underground passage through the hotel, through which you immediately get to the beach. The beach is clean, not particularly equipped. But we always take a mat and a beach umbrella when we travel. Ours is foldable and convenient. We were also lucky with the weather. April is a good time to visit Sanya. There is a shop and market next to the hotel. It’s quite lively in the evening, and there’s a good cafe opposite the hotel exit. We took bus number 108 to Dudanhai. The trip cost 5 yuan per person. There is no charge for the child. Before visiting Hainan, I found the Hainan chat group in telegram. I picked up a lot of useful information from there. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the hotel for a wonderful time. Thanks to our manager Amina Kudasheva for choosing this hotel.

Bed linen is changed every three days. The bathroom has toiletries, toothbrushes, tea, coffee, and water, which is replenished daily. There's a good supermarket near the hotel, lots of pebbles. But towards the end of our vacation, we found a cafe run by a Russian-speaking Chinese man called Vanya. The portions are large and everything is delicious. I highly recommend trying their beef dumplings; they're delicious. You can also buy a tour from him, which will be cheaper than the hotel. His cafe is located if you're walking to the sea from the hotel. Just before the sea, turn left. Walk to the traffic light, turn left, and you'll be about the third cafe. The sign says "Vanya's: 5 minutes to the sea." The only thing is, someone bit me on the beach; the bites take a very long time to heal. And they itch like mosquito bites. Otherwise, everything is great! I highly recommend the hotel! Mandarin Oriental, Sanya is a chic beachfront resort located near Sanya town. The hotel offers sleek rooms, suites, and villas with contemporary laid-back chic decor. Nestled among swaying palms on a small hilly peninsula, the resort's proximity to Sanya city is disguised by its gorgeous west-facing beach location.
1 hour from Hong Kong. Felt like I was in Maui. What more can you ask for. Amazing food at Fresh and Yi Yang restaurants. No need to leave the hotel. Enjoy the pools, beach, spa, or just lying under the palm tree. Nothing more relaxing than to hear the waves.

A mess. Main pool is closed indefinitely, small ‘infinity’ pool is not temperature controlled, the food is average at best. No tennis court as stated on website, no basketball court as mentioned in resort map. Room condition is deteriorating, service mediocre from front end staff - housekeeping staff is ok. Not an MO experience.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service at Sanya Mandarin Oriental. It is disheartening to see such poor training standards. It’s especially frustrating given that I have personally referred many businesses to host events at your hotel in the Greater Bay Area. This experience has been deeply disappointing.

The resort is amazing! Big shout out to Mihai who was exceptional and made us feel right at home. Fiona is a delightful young lady always attending to our needs and so did Danny always smiling! Our villa was superb, exceeding all expectations. Breakfast was awesome. The facilities and amenities are fabulous. We enjoyed the swimming pools and it was nice having an activity center for our 3 year old grand child who had a lot of fun there

The snorkelling was great. Our 2 year old son loved playing in the sand and the pool. The independent house was nice with it's own pool and was close to the beach with snorkelling close. Snorkelling had beautiful fish and quite a bit of coral in the snorkelling area. Having our own small pool at the house was nicer than I thought it would be. The breakfast was great even with my food sensitivities (wheat/gluten, dairy, and egg). The pastries looked delicious haha. They have mango that is wonderful, you just have to ask the fruit table person to cut some for you. The main pool was huge and beautiful with very few people and a small waterslide (was out of service when we went). Service was great too. I wouldn't know how easy it is if you only know English since my wife did most of the talking in chinese. I know at least one of the workers there at the drop off area was fluent in English and all of the signs had English too.

Wonderful experience. A real luxury experience. Beautiful resort (gardens, swimming pools, amazing rooms with views), and super nice and professional staff, always smiling, polite, and asking if they could do something for us. We could totally rest and relax. we had a great time. The only "bad" things: the beach has a lot of rocks so it's difficult to go in the water, quite dangerous. the restaurant "fresh" has good food but clearly overpriced. It's more expensive than top restaurant in Shanghai with much higher quality. But even though, that didn't impact our beautiful trip.

Airport
Sanya Phoenix International Airport is a modern airport that provides flights to domestic and some international destinations. It offers free WiFi for travelers. In 2018, the airport welcomed 20 million visitors and now allows visa-free travel for 59 countries. Additionally, direct flights from London were introduced in 2018. While not very large, the airport has all the essential amenities such as food, accommodation, and shopping options to serve travelers' needs effectively.
Sanya Phoenix Airport is a small, convenient airport that serves mainly tourists. It's compact and easy to navigate, making arrivals and departures quick and hassle-free—ideal for a stress-free travel experience. The airport is clean with friendly staff, though amenities are somewhat limited due to its size. Its proximity to Sanya city and resorts adds to its convenience. Overall, it’s a neat little airport perfect for quick and efficient travel.

Extremely slow security - with multiple redundant immigration checks. Arrive a minimum of 2 hours before your flight. If you want time to eat or shop, arrive earlier. There is no AC. Unless you’re flying domestically, you will be bussed to your aircraft. Note that they do not have handicap-accessible boarding. No staff speak English, so some mandarin knowledge is required. Even in mandarin, the staff are very unhelpful and unresponsive.

Very nice little Airport. Service was splendid, all staff are very friendly. The waiting and check in areas are a bit small, especially in the busy months it can be crowded. The HSR train station is just 10 min from the terminal. Very convenient. Outside the Terminal is a small mall on the opposite side of the taxi stands with several food and drink choices.

When your plane lands at the airport, be sure to look out the window. This is the most wonderful airport location. airplane flying very low over the sea and resort.

The airport was nice because it was pleasant and comfortable when leaving the country. However, I was a little embarrassed because the staff used an annoying way of saying, "Don't speak English." It seems that the staff can't speak any language other than Chinese. In addition, there was a little tendency to show a pretty unkind attitude. Except for that, it was pretty good. I've heard a lot that duty-free shops are not good, but they were okay except for the small ones, and there was a souvenir shop inside that also served as a beer place, but there were many people there. If you want to go there, please move early. However, if you need to know in advance, 1. All the lighters are confiscated. 2. Security checks are very slow. 3. The security inspection staff are a little unfriendly. (I don't understand, especially the English ban.)

I've been to many Chinese airports but this is the worst airport I've been go in the world. Very poorly laid out and confusing, no real idea on where you are meant to be going especially if you have flown in domestic and need to transfer to the international terminal well good luck trying to find how to get there. No one in the airport speaks English so basic knowledge of mandarin is needed. Airport is old and out of date, lacks a lot.

(Translated by Google) We vacationed with a friend on Hainan Island in February 2018. We stayed at the Cactus. I was amazed by the huge clean area, the lake, the pool..... And the architectural idea itself is something! You can walk from morning to night and admire this beauty. The rooms are tired with shabby walls and old furniture, but that's not scary. The cleaning was done efficiently and in a timely manner. There are no bicaras in the rooms. Breakfast is designed for the Chinese. But we never left hungry. It's too far from the beach, but it carries the bass. One there.... the second back. There are your own sunbeds on the beach. There are many of them, enough for everyone. The medical center at the hotel is a bit expensive. There is no infrastructure. There is only a fruit market, a pharmacy, a cafe with inedible and expensive food, and also a small shop of Chinese products. Yes, if you go along the road to the right (if you face the sea), you will come to a beautiful free park, along the way to which you will meet the most beautiful playgrounds. From the final stop of bus 25 to Dadonghai, it's an hour's drive, the interval is 40 minutes, and the ticket is a little expensive..... you won't run into anything! You can take a bus to the Yalungbey Tropical Park. these are three stops from the terminus towards Dadonghai. Ask the conductor for the exit location. In Dadonghai there is a Chinese Mitya, he stands on the square (like going to the sea there are fruit stands and a shop - so there). Speaks Russian well. All excursions and massages must be purchased from him, because... This is several times cheaper than what hotel guides sell. We took "deer" and "hot springs". And Mitya told us how to go to the Goddess on our own. He wrote us something in Chinese on a piece of paper and told us to go to the ticket office and they would give us the correct ticket. Overall I liked everything!!! Hotel, Chinese Mityu, free Yalunwan Park, Yalungbey Tropical Park, hot revenge and a trip to the Goddess WE RECOMMEND!!!!

First, the good things: rooms are comfortable and clean, the pool is nice, the grounds are beautiful. The staff are very accommodating. The hotel largely caters to a Russian and Chinese clientele base, but there's also English signage. The bad things: the food in the diner is not very good at all. There's not much choice and the food is rather bland. The location is rather far from the ocean. The convenience store in the lobby is really expensive.

Please stay away from this resort , I’ve made a small mistake on my booking through agoda And it was one month in advance and they wouldn’t agree to cancel or change the dates for 4 nights of booking which cost more than 1000 usd, agoda reached out to them twice and they simply didn’t wave the cancellation. This hotel has 0 customer service and only concerned about money. I’ve never experienced such a harsh and unwelcoming customer service. With this kind of attitude I doubt this hotel will provide any decent customer service for its guests.

The rooms are in need of renovation, the wallpaper is peeling a little. The service is good, but the staff does not speak English, much less Russian. I didn’t like the breakfasts; the only edibles I found were eggs, toast, dumplings and fruit. Perhaps the rest is also tasty, but I didn’t dare try it. It’s a 10-minute walk to the beach or you can take an electric car that runs every 5 minutes from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The beach is good and clean. The sea is clean, the water is clear. Water activities are nearby. It's a 20-minute walk to the food street, or you can take a bus from the hotel for 2 yuan. Overall I was satisfied (Original) The pool is large, maximum depth 1.2 meters, you can swim until 23:00. Breakfasts are quite tasty, we chose porridge, scrambled eggs, pastries, steamed pies with fillings, dumplings and fruits. We always ate our fill. We did not go to lunches and dinners. We ate in the cafe. The rooms are quite spacious, ours was without a balcony with a view of the mountain and outbuildings in the yard. The rooms are old, once they were decent. Everything worked, the refrigerator worked (we always left one key card in the room) there was not a single Russian channel, out of all the many TV channels we found the only one in English. The sea is a 10-minute walk away, the sea is excellent, the beach is clean. Let's say this hotel is 3 stars, no more. For the reasonable price we paid, it was quite ok. (Translated by Google) I visited this hotel today: it's located in Yalong Bay. It's a beautiful place, the sea is clean, but the cleanliness is achieved by a back current, so the swimming area is limited by buoys (the depth at the barrier is no more than 1 meter). If you don't observe safety precautions, you can return with a 200-meter load. There are free sun loungers and umbrellas. Let's return to the hotel. The hotel is not new; my friend had to change rooms because the first one had defects in the wallpaper. But overall, I liked it. The hotel is at the foot of the mountain, near a forest, birdsong. By the way, you need to walk about 10 minutes to the sea. There is a pool, many children were swimming (the water smelled of chlorine, which means it is being treated). You can't find food near the hotel, but there are many shops and cafes within 1 km. The prices are not cheap; fruit in Dudanhai Bay and Sanya Bay is cheaper, but the walk is long. It's up to you. What a terrible hotel. Certainly the worst Pullman I've ever stayed at. The room decoration was outdated 20years ago. It may be a fake Pullman? The staff matches the hotel rooms, totally not interested in customer service. If the price was half it would still not be a price worthy. Go to the neighbouring Marriott instead. Avoid this hotel.
Håkan J — Google review
I recently stayed at the Pullman Sanya Yalong Bay Villas and Resort and, overall, it was a pleasant experience — but not without its flaws. The resort has a lot of potential thanks to its beautiful surroundings and appealing layout, but certain aspects fell short of expectations, especially given the Pullman brand's usual standard. First, the food was the true highlight of our stay. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, offering a wide variety of both local and international dishes, all freshly prepared and well-presented. It catered to all tastes, from traditional Chinese breakfasts to Western-style options, and the quality was consistently high. The restaurant staff were friendly, attentive, and professional, contributing to a relaxed and enjoyable dining atmosphere. However, several other aspects of the stay were disappointing. The room we were assigned was very dated. The furniture was worn, with some pieces broken or literally falling apart, and the overall condition of the room made it feel more like a budget hotel than a luxury resort. The interior design felt old-fashioned, and the maintenance clearly hasn’t kept up with the resort’s intended standard. The pool area, which could have been a major highlight, was unfortunately sectioned off, limiting access and reducing the enjoyment of the space. On top of that, the slide and the jacuzzi were both not functioning, which was a big letdown — especially for families or guests looking to unwind and have some fun in the water. The gym was mediocre at best. While it had some basic equipment, the space was small, the selection was limited, and it lacked the modern, clean feel you’d expect at a resort of this caliber. It felt more like an afterthought than a fully equipped fitness center. Despite these issues, the overall setting of the resort is beautiful. The tropical gardens and villa-style layout offer a tranquil and relaxing environment, and the location within Yalong Bay is great for accessing beaches and nearby attractions. With some investment in refurbishing the rooms, repairing broken amenities, and upgrading the gym, this could easily be one of the top resorts in the area. In summary, while I did enjoy parts of my stay — especially the food and the setting — there’s significant room for improvement. I hope the management takes steps to address the maintenance and facility issues, because the potential is certainly there.

Nice hotel, spacious and well equipped rooms. Town center is 10 CNY taxi ride away. Great, huge pool. Slide's water flow too low. Private beach is accessible by shuttle that runs every 15 mins. Beach is off-center location. Not the best beach in the area, it is on top of a collapsing dune. If you choose hotel for its beach then better go to 'MGM Grand' or 'Mangrove Tree' nearby.

Great Hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. The maintenance of the rooms is not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The rooms are very clean, but there are small issues like cracked tiles. Overall for the price I don't think it can be beat.

Linchunling Forest Park is a stunning natural attraction located near the 'Tree Houses' bus stop number 10. The park offers free admission and features an observation pagoda at the end of a climb, providing a breathtaking view of the entire city. Visitors can purchase water at the entrance before embarking on the not-too-difficult trail, which is surrounded by lush greenery and offers several tea houses for relaxation.
Nice trail. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the observation deck. Nice view of Sanya city. The monkeys are a nice surprise for the walk. Highly recommend for families with kids. (Bring some sliced fruits to feed them. Don't feed them bread or candies. )

very nice place for walk, it's free and comfortable to get. Take bus number 10,36,52-costs 2元 for a ride, be careful-there is no change in a bus. There is electronic screen with all stops in a bus, get off when see "春光"- chun guang. Park is big and there is such great panoramic view on all 3 bays of Sanya. Prepare hat and bottle with water, make you get up on 2k of stairs -it's no big deal even for cute little domestic children.

My absolute favourite in Sanya. Found it by chance 6 years ago and fell in love! Meet the nature on the tip of your… toes - be ready to walk a lot (I spent 4 hours there and returned to hotel way after the sunset)! Another name of the place is a park of thousands steps! Bonus: gorgeous views, music and relaxing not so touristic spot. It’s free of charge and a bit wild (no shops, no circulating buses inside - walking is the only way to get around there). Buses 9, 36, 53 should help you to get there - be sure you don’t miss the entrance gate!

Great spot to see the city. Good exercise to get to the top. Bring water. Free is good for everyone. Parking available. Some food service at bottom of the hill. Clean bathrooms throughout the trail. Clean park with lights and music. Bring bug spray.

(Translated by Google) We visited on our own in October 2024. We arrived by taxi and paid ¥90 for tickets (about 1,200 rubles for 3). There is a bus to the park, up the hill, to the first stop, then on foot. Excellent sidewalk, lots of cafes and ice cream stalls. At the top, a pagoda, a huge sculpture of a deer with its head turned. Be careful, there are a lot of wild monkeys, they can attack if they see water or food. They usually work near trash cans and crowds of people. We descended all the way back on foot. I really liked it. There are viewing platforms for photos. After 6 pm there are crowds of people.

(Translated by Google) "The deer turned its head." This is their main observation deck. If you want to see all of Sanya at a glance, you need to go here. In essence: the view from there is really beautiful. The bay, the city, the strange houses on Phoenix Island - everything is clearly visible. It makes particular sense to go in the evening to catch the sunset and night lights. 🏙️ A practical point: the park is located on a mountain. Walking in the heat is not for everyone. Right at the entrance there are electric cars that take you up for a small fee. Saves time and energy, I recommend it. 🚐 Otherwise, it's just a well-kept park with a statue of that very deer. You can take a walk if you have time. There is an entrance fee, plus a car, so prepare some change. In general, to take a couple of good panoramic photos and look at the city from above, this is a suitable place. Once is enough. 👍

Was amazed by the number of 5 stars ratings, given to this place. Rooms are old, dirty with cleaning not even looking below the bed. When we asked a reception guy about decent place to have a lunch, the answer was “I don’t speak English”, however he spoke it. Amazing disrespect. Half of the list in the bar is not available. Zero English speakers (with a few exceptions). Second star is for keeping the facilities and clean grass. To summarize, nothing in common with “Hawaii” or other resorts. Rubbish.

The hotel is nice, with extensive grounds featuring beautiful gardens and pools. The room is very spacious and well-equipped, and it's especially nice to have a coffee machine available. However, I don't understand why the staff allows local sellers to sit on the hotel's sun chairs; it's very unpleasant. Additionally, the sun loungers lack mattresses, unlike those at the neighboring Marriott. It's also very disappointing that all activities incur additional costs; given the high price of the hotel, I would expect everything to be included.

Grand Hyatt Sanya Haitang Bay Resort and Spa, located in Haitang Bay by the beach, offers luxurious accommodation with a range of options for relaxation. There are three themed pools, a spa and fitness centre as well as five restaurants and bars. The property is close to the city centre and attractions like the Maya Theme Park and Sanya Bay Resort.
Excellent hotel, and the cash price is super reasonable for such a high-end property. There are numerous pool complexes, easy beach access, and the property is massive and peaceful to walk around. At night, they light up all the walking paths and buildings beautifully. As a globalist, I enjoyed the free breakfast and dinner in the executive lounge, along with a room upgrade to a suite with a private pool. The elite recognition here is outstanding. The hotel is also attached to a cool open-air mall with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores. I will definitely be back to this hotel!

The place is just wow! The property is absolutely stunning — right by the beach with beautiful ocean views and lush gardens. The rooms were spacious, modern, and very clean, with comfortable beds and a luxurious bathroom. Breakfast had a huge variety of both international and local options, all fresh and delicious. The pool area was well-maintained, and the private beach was perfect for relaxing. Unfortunately due to dangerous streams it was not allowed to swim. No bay watch.

We had a few communication issues as my Mandarin is not functional so asking for anything non standard required a bit more patience.

To be honest, not a really good hotel, given that it is an international brand and a so-called five-star hotel. I would say it is a four-star, but not five. I have been there in 2017, which was quite new. And I visit again this time, after the Covid. But the hotel room seems not well-maintained in this 6/7 years. Some hardwares, such as the window blind, doors, door knobs, light switches, cabinets, bathroom furnitures, are all dilapidated. Some of them even have sign of mould. The room was musty when first entered and it took around 2hrs of air-con to remove the smell. If you are bringing a baby, who still sleep in a crib, my sincere advice is to think twice. There is NO crib, even they ask whether you need a crib when you book. I rather not asking me to tick whether a crib is needed when I booked. What they provided were some guards/boundaries to install around adult beds. But those guards are not secure and very loose, and more importantly quite dirty. I have been to another hotel in Shenzhen, which was Accor brand, they provided my baby a formal and clean crib. So I was quite disappoined, given that it is a five-star hotel and young family with children are one of their target customers. Similar to other hotels nearby, it is situated far away from Sanya city centre and the airport. It takes around 45mins-1hr taxi to travel there. If you stay there, then play and travel there, such as the CDF city and Wuzhizhou Island. Right next to the hotel is a food street. But half of the restaurants were closed. The hotel breakfast buffet was quite good. A lot of choices. They also provided photo-taking service for each room. Five free-of-charge original copies were provided. If you want more, 60 rmb for touched and 40 for original untouched per photo. Upto 25% off discount may be provided if you want a lot of photos. My assigned photographer was quite good (but not good for my wallet), and i eventually spend extra two thousands for more copies. I glanced the album of another room, their photographer was not quite skilled so they didnt spend extra for extra copies.

I think I paid for the cheapest room yet their bathroom alone is bigger than my hk hotel room as a comparison. Lots of details in the design, walk in wardrobe, sofa both end of the room, dining table, bath tub for two, the list goes on. Tried all their 4 restaurants inside and the dinner buffet is good value. Even more shops in the arena which is just outside of the resort but connects internally. Overall very enjoyable stay and staff are nice. If you have a family, try their villas and you will be spoilt beyond your imagination.

Nestled along the stunning shores of Haitang Bay, The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort is a modern oasis that beautifully blends sleek design with natural elements. Opened in late 2013, this resort boasts a striking bird's-nest facade and features an impressive steel waterfall at its entrance. Guests can enjoy direct access to a private beach, multiple outdoor pools, and four diverse dining options offering Chinese, Japanese, and Western cuisines.
I had a lovely time being one of only a handful of guests. At times, I had entire sections of the enormous pool to myself and felt like I was the only person staying there. My room was comfortable, welcoming and absolutely huge. In addition to that, the even bigger bathroom with it's stand alone bath and wall-length shower made me feel like I was at the spa everything I walked through. Breakfast was great and the buffet/hot pot dinner was a delicious surprise.

Excellent Westin resort by the sea ! Stayed 2 nights at this brand new Westin resort in early November 2013. First, as every time a new hotel opens, it's normal that there are few things who are still underway, new staff, restaurants/bars under construction or just not open (pool bar), not too much customers ... It's ok, I was here to enjoy the sunshine + the beach anyway. The architecture and design of this Westin is great, very fashion and trendy, nice colors + materials as well. Good job guys ! Now concerning the location, it's about 45 minutes away from Sanya airport, taxi or bus #33 (10 rmb) who leaves you in front of the Westin. Now, on the way back, from the Westin to reach Sanya airport with a contracted private car it's 170 rmb or downtown Sanya one way, it's 120 rmb. Didn't see any bus stops around. Like any other resorts around this area in Haitang Bay, you are far away from downtown Sanya, nothing around the hotel until now, everything is under construction, no shopping malls, no convenience stores, no coffee shops,... So basically, you are here to enjoy with your family or with your couple, so you have no choice to eat/drink here at theirs 3 restaurants and 1 bar. Food was good as well as the breakfast. There is only one small convenience store next to the swimming pool, they have only little selections of snacks (chips, ice cream,..) but no soft drinks or alcohol drinks. Now concerning my room, it was huge and modern as every Westin have been recently. I got even a balcony facing the pool + Ocean view. Everything was perfect. Nothing to complain about. You will love the big white bath to relax into it. They got free movies on TV, bad part, you have to pay to get the wifi in the room, free wifi everywhere else (lobby, restaurants, gym, swimming pool and even the beach). The beach was nice and clean, a lot of big waves, be careful if you swim here. You have 2 guards checking for you in case. There are 2 swimming pools + as well a volley-ball court. The gym has everything to work out and all the machines are new. The staff at the front desk + as well in all the restaurants was ok, some were smiling, some not, some had some experiences of working in a hotel , but some you could tell, they didn't know anything at all. Anyway, it's a new hotel, so... There were a lot of Chinese guests, not too many international guests, actually, I was the only Caucasian there, but after all, we are in China. Conclusion, a nice resort who is still underway to officially opens anytime soon; in a near future when everything will be open here and around the resort, it will be a perfect place to enjoy with the family or with your couple.

Pros: Great views from the beach. Nice gym. Attentive and helpful staff. Cons: the rooms and premises are already showing signs of wear (musty smell, water leaks)

The Royal Begonia, a Luxury Collection Resort in Sanya, is a stunning destination that opened its doors in mid-August 2012. This exquisite resort features an appealing blend of upscale amenities and family-friendly options, including a kids' club and luxurious villas with direct beach access. The architecture showcases a charming hacienda style with cream stone exteriors, elegant arches, and red tile roofs reminiscent of Marbella's allure. Guests can enjoy beautifully designed spaces adorned with classy mosaic tiles throughout the property.
Had a wonderful stay at this hotel...it's a beautiful property, with great grounds to stroll around, lots of pools to swim in, a great SPA, beach, spacious rooms, amazing bathrooms, wonderful buffet breakfast, and unlike a lot of comments on TripAdvisor I saw, service & staff were fantastic. Check in was very quick, and very personal at a real desk not a 'front desk'. Room had wonderful views, was very quiet, and thankfully, really good air conditioning. I didn't have any service issues.. in fact, they were very responsive.

I did not enjoy my stay and will not recommend this hotel: 1. Failed the mosquito test. Lots of mosquito. 2. Take 3 calls and 45 minutes to get water delivered to room. 3. Ordered a 2 bedroom suite. It is a 2 bedroom but without the living room so technically it is a one bedroom suite with living room and should not be advertised as a 2 bedroom suite. The "2 bedroom" suite only have one bathroom. 4. Take 2 calls and 30 minutes to for bellboy services for checkout. 5. Food at The Yue restaurant is good but the humidity and heat in the restaurant makes it difficult to enjoy the chef culinary prowess. Air con in restaurant feeble and weak. Perhaps the chef should seek employment at St Regis and not waste his talent at LC. 6. LC is one of the first luxury hotel at Haitang Bay. It is not well maintained and a lot of facilities are old. 7. Could not book a room with breakfast or halfboard package on Marriott website. The best spot of the hotel is its lift, which is cool and well conditioned. The breakfast staff did not bother asking for my room number and charge me accordingly for breakfast. This outlines the lack of attention by staff. If they want to talk between themselves and not charge me, so be it. This hotel does not deserve to be a Luxury Collection portfolio. There is nothing luxurious about it for human, perhaps luxurious for the mosquitos feasting on my blood.

(Translated by Google) The best resort in Hainan. When you think of Hainan, it is easy to think of resorts with huge water parks like Mangrove or Atlantis, but Royal Begonia is a resort that is different from those large-scale water parks. If you want to enjoy a quiet and luxurious vacation, we recommend Royal Begonia. Another advantage is that you can use the European-style building, a nice swimming pool, and Sheraton facilities. The breakfast is excellent, and being able to use Sheraton's kids club is a huge advantage. Although there isn't anything nearby, there are restaurants and a supermarket just a 10-minute walk away, so the location isn't that bad. Also, since there is a Korean manager, Koreans can also get along well.

The bathroom has two sinks, a separate toilet room, and a separate shower room. -The beach promenade is great, so be sure to go there if you go. There are endless trails along the beach. -The swimming pool is large and there are no people, so you can use it as if you rented it. However, it is a pity that there is no slide for children. -The beach is nice, but there's always a red flag up telling you not to swim. It's okay to go up to your knees, but if you go further than that, the patrol(?) will tell you to go back. However, children can still splash in the water and play in the sand. It's also convenient to be able to wash off the sand in the outdoor shower after playing. -Perhaps because it is right in front of the beach, the humidity is very high. The dehumidifier fills up in one day;; It's bearable if you close the windows and turn on the air conditioner. -The kids park is really big and nice, so be sure to bring socks (they sell for about 1,000 won) -The only place to eat outside is ARENA MALL, located in front of the Hyatt Resort just below (about 10 minutes down the main road). There is also a small mart where you can buy anything you need. -Mangoes are delicious, so buy a lot from the street vendors on the way to Arena Mall (sometimes they are not available) or at the Arena Mall mart. It costs about 30 yuan for 6 pieces a little bigger than your fist. The street vendors sell fully ripe ones, so they are cheaper and more delicious. -When going to Arena Mall, ask the staff at the lobby taxi to go to the Sheraton road entrance and they will take you by buggy (of course, you have to walk -_-...) Nestled along the stunning National Coast of Haitang Bay, the InterContinental Sanya Haitang Bay Resort is a lavish retreat that promises an unforgettable getaway. This expansive bayside haven boasts upscale rooms and suites, many offering breathtaking sea views. Guests can indulge in a culinary journey at four diverse restaurants, unwind by one of the two inviting pools, or engage in some friendly competition on the tennis courts.
Our three-night stay at the Intercontinental Sanya Haitang Bay was fantastic! The hotel room was spotless and equipped with everything we needed – even a Dyson hairdryer! Every morning, we woke up to breathtaking sea views, which was such a treat. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide selection of Chinese and international dishes, fresh juices, fruits, and live cooking stations – something for everyone to enjoy. The hotel grounds are lush and green, with well-maintained facilities like a gym, a beautiful pool area, and beach access. We also dined at Aqua Restaurant, their stunning seafood restaurant, surrounded by an impressive aquarium – truly a memorable experience. Although swimming in the ocean is restricted due to strong currents, the beach setup with loungers was perfect for relaxing. Plus, there’s a huge duty-free shopping center nearby with all the top brands. Overall, a wonderful stay with great amenities, fantastic food, and exceptional views. Highly recommend!

InterContinental Sanya offers a luxurious beachfront experience with beautiful sea views, spacious clean rooms, multiple pools, and excellent service. The breakfast is diverse, and family-friendly amenities are top-notch. Some staff have limited English, but overall a relaxing, high-quality stay. Perfect for a serene tropical getaway.

A Dyson hairdryer and bathtub on the balcony, so luxe! Even The Peninsula did not have a Dyson. The amenities are amazing and I like how cultural elements are woven in the very modern comfort. The beach access, lush green territory, a pool with live stingrays and live jazz performances in the night is very romantic. Want to be back!

Perfect room, spacious and comfy. Resturaunt staff don't know English, even Latte, but are polite. Could have improved as a big international hotel. But overall very good!

Great facilities. Very Chinese service if you know what I mean... Things just a little off from western versión of IC brand. Good beach.

Good hotel, but the swimming pool is very small

Ok. Not so goods: Huge construction project next door that makes noise all day long; this is a unwelcoming event that is unpleasant— beware; Not much English spoken; older and looking very tired building; the ocean can be very rough; not much around except for the large mall with only a few food choices. A lot of families with kids. Adult pool was closed unfortunately so you have to enjoy the family pool area. Can be noisy on the ground level but seems like the property to the left side is much more quiet though. Goods: hmmm… large rooms, nice staff; large grass area with a variety of trees and plants which is comfortable for a walk to the beach. Very tentative room service with quick response! Ask for a room at least on the eighth floor up for best views. Stay firm with your requests though. The Club Room is good but go early. Only serves afternoon tea and a light dinner though with alcohol. Service was excellent! I think this is a 4 star hotel though so keep your expectations in check. Also there are more Chinese than foreigners that stay here. Weekends seem busier. The beach is good with soft tan sand which is well maintained. Just a few beach loungers as I suppose most Chinese don’t tan in the sun. There is parasailing but doesn’t appear to be solo. We used the hotel transportation which was an additional cost but well worth it since the airport was a bit confusing. Nice pool areas with lots of natural scenery which adds beauty to the property. Very nice landscaping that provides a pleasant walk to the beach.

Sanya Pearl River Nantian Hotspring Resort Parking Lot is a unique attraction located on Hainan Island, China. The resort features 67 baths filled with hot thermal water, ranging from 38 to 46 degrees Celsius. Visitors can enjoy well-groomed paths and beautiful natural surroundings while indulging in the various hot baths infused with additives such as coffee beans, coconut, roses, and herbs.
A place where you can relax and forget about everything :)

Very expensive. All the water smells the same...guess it has nothing in common with the real European spas. Also a lot of facilities didn't work.
Vasek R — Google review
(Translated by Google) Nantian Hot Springs, Hainan, China. On Hainan Island there is another remarkable attraction - the unique resort of Zhujiang Nantian, or, as they are popularly called, “Thermal Hot Springs”. On the territory of the park where these springs are located, 67 baths were built - artificial structures made of stones and concrete, which are filled with hot thermal (natural, as the guides assure) water. The water temperature is from 38 to 46. There is also a pool with cool water, where mainly our compatriots swim. There is also a swimming pool with a waterfall - a slide from which water gushes under strong pressure, I couldn’t even stand there - it gushes very hard. Numerous hot thermal water baths are located next to a winding path that winds intricately through the grounds, deep in the rainforest. Some baths are located under canopies stylized as Chinese pagodas. Near each mini-pool there is a sign that says what additives the bath contains. Each of them has its own purpose - one contains infusions of soothing and relaxing herbs, and the other, on the contrary, contains caffeine and extremely invigorates the body and spirit! There are also pools with small piranha fish that eat the stratum corneum of the skin, pools with wine, ginger, ginseng, tea, bubbling water, with mineral elements - fluorine, calcium, manganese, zinc. However, as many sites claim, there are no radon pools there. The pool with fish is cool and shallow, you can lie down completely on the bottom of the pool and not move. Then the fish swim up and begin to lightly pinch the skin, gnawing off the keratinized particles. Especially a lot of fish gather around the feet, and they pleasantly tickle the heels. When you run motionless, looking up, you can see the drooping branches of trees and palm trees surrounding the pond. The silence and singing of birds in the thickets is mesmerizing. I lay there for probably half an hour, calm and bliss covering my whole body. But I really wanted to see the whole park, since I didn’t have much time. At first, the hot tubs were not very comfortable, it seemed that the water was too hot, but the main rule, which is constantly talked about on the radio in the park, is to immerse yourself in the bath gradually, without rushing. Then the body gets used to the temperature and you can lie down completely. You can’t stay in the baths for a long time, the blood pressure increases from hot water, you can stay for 10-15 minutes, drink water or tea, which is in large tanks on the territory and you can drink it absolutely free. By the way, at the entrance to the park there are signs that it is forbidden to bring your own food, but this is not true. Prudent Chinese eat their own food (doshirak-type noodles) and no one said anything to them. They brewed noodles from a cooler located at the entrance. However, we were not so prudent and did not take anything from food, hoping to have lunch right in the park. Having swam to our hearts' content in numerous pools, we followed the signs for "Food Street" in the hope of having a thorough refreshment (As Winnie the Pooh said). When we reached a beautiful building in the shape of a Chinese palace with lions, we were surprised at the absence of people. That is, there was no one in the cafe, that is, absolutely! And this alarmed us. At the entrance to the cafe we were greeted by a girl with a sheet of menu. Unfortunately, there were no pictures of the dishes, everything was written in Chinese and the price was -58 (yuan, as we thought at first, that is, 580 rubles). There were 3 types of food on the sheet. My travel companion, using an app on her phone, translated the text of the menu and said that the range of dishes was like a “set lunch” of noodles and salad, but the cost of the “lunch” was indicated in US dollars! We were dumbfounded! There was no desire to pay 3.5 thousand rubles for noodles and salad! Once again we checked with the girl to see if we had made a mistake with the translation? And my friend showed her yuan. To which the girl energetically waved her hands and her beautiful head in the negative. Sadness! Now it immediately became clear why there was no one in the huge hall of the restaurant!! Without taking a sip, we walked away, towards the exit. And then we sat there waiting for the bus, satisfying our hunger with tea (for free and as much as we wanted🤣). By the way, we were incredibly lucky with the weather.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful nature, well-groomed paths and springs (if you can call it that). Bags with different additives are thrown into hot baths: coffee beans, coconut, roses, various herbs, which is why baths are called additives. It was nice to have a scalding hot bath with red wine, although given the high prices for wine in this region (more than $15 for a 0.7 liter bottle), it was hardly wine. In the “happiness” bath I felt a surge of happiness, in the “tiger” bath - the strength of a tiger, in the coffee bath - a surge of strength, in the anti-oncology bath - the absence of cancer, in the antifungal bath... The main thing is to believe in it. And since it wasn’t hot that day at the end of December 2019, we warmed up well.

The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort offers luxury living with stunning views of the ocean and lush tropical gardens. The resort has a number of upscale rooms, suites and villas that come complete with butler services, an infinity pool and direct access to the beach.
What an awesome resort! We had a thoroughly great time. The room is luxurious and well appointed. We had a room with access to the lagoon pool - we highly recommend this room type. The pools were very kid friendly, and the water temperature was just right. Breakfast buffet selection is good; catering across Western and Chinese cuisines. We also dined at Mei Xuan for dinners, and the Hainanese dishes were good. We spent every night at the beach bar, drinking cocktails and listening to live music from Monica. The service from the beverages team was excellent and we had great service from Claire and Dennis. Our kids loved the resort so much that they have asked for us to return for our next holiday!

This property has the bones of a once great resort, suffering from a much needed renovation overhaul to live up to the St. Regis branding. Despite the site flaws my room was stunning! During my visit in May 2024, this current staff group is the main selling point for staying. Such an attentive, supportive and accommodating group of people eager to assist at any ask. They deserve a raise :). As a solo traveler, I was disappointed in the lack of water activities I could participate in besides swimming. Even with that roadblock, I had a great time luxuriating and exploring Sanya.

Stayed for 9 days at the Villa. The villa itself was fantastic. Great rooms with a private pool and jacuzzi. The butlers were very friendly and helpful. However, the food in the hotel was horrible - very expensive and not tasty. The breakfast for villa guests were supposedly to be better than the breakfast for other guests, but it had very limited selections, and the breads were stale… For a 5-star resort with a premium price tag, my husband and I had expected more. We ended up ordering in from local places, which were not great, and had to leave the premises to eat at another hotel’s restaurant. While the villa was superb, the onsite food quality is to be improved.

We booked 25 rooms (including 3 villas) at Sanya Yalong Bay St Regis hotel for our wedding on march 9th, 2025. Some guests arrived on the 6th and the rest arrived on the 8th at 12pm. We sent the guest names and their flight details to the hotel 2 weeks before the wedding and got confirmation that they have received them. On march 8th, the hotel wouldn’t let our guests check in at 3pm because the rooms were not ready (3pm is the checkin time mentioned on their official website). My wedding guests, including elder guests and children, had to wait till 4:40pm for their rooms. During their waiting time at the lobby, there were no staff providing any service to my wedding guests. The stay at sanya yalong st Regis has been a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT to us and all our guests. -Rooms: our villa filled with cigarette smell. -Service: Not only did my guests have to wait for almost 2 hours at the lobby for checkin, the staff was also very rude to my parents. When my parents were concerned about our wedding guests waiting and start talking to the manager. I told the manager I wanted to complain, the manger said, ya go ahead.

Worst St Regis and even Marriott experience ever. It’s hard to believe this property can keep the name of St Regis. The booklet in the hotel room about Astor is just a shame to the name. The hotel is falling apart in everything everywhere. The ugly colors of the exterior, the straight-faced front desk and many staff, the broken floor right out side the elevator hall, the outdated swimming pool with missing tiles on the bottom, the smoker friendly property everywhere (no one regulates people smoking right by the pool full of kids), the chaotic breakfast dining hall with no one guiding you to available seats, the malfunctioning tub and AC, and so on and so forth. The list is endless. What is worse is that they don’t even care when you report these to them. Just stay away from this hotel.

Great food at Ming Xuan Chinese restaurant (the best in the whole hotel in our opinion) and great service throughout the whole hotel. We celebrated my wife's birthday here and they decorated the room and bed with flowers and the attention to detail was great. We had a birthday dinner at Driftwood restaurant and they also decorated our table with flowers. Thank you to Elektra and team. We also enjoyed watching Lion King in 3d at their private St Regis cinema! (About 50 rmb) On our final morning before checking out they also sent up the special breakfast that we requested from the Driftwood restaurant and we were able to enjoy the meal in the comfort of our room. We spent 4 nights at the place and slept like babies every night! Super well rested.

Nestled in the serene Tufu Resort Area of Yingzhou Town, just a short drive from Haitang Bay, Capella Hotel Sanya is a luxurious retreat that opened its doors in late 2018. This stunning property boasts 190 accommodations, including an elegant hotel manor and six exclusive villas. Guests can indulge in upscale amenities such as a chic tea room and a state-of-the-art spa featuring Moroccan hammam treatments.
Widely recognized as the best resort in Sanya or even China. Masterpiece by one of the most reputable archi Kerry Hill. Can you imagine how spacious the entry room is? It's 88sqm, which is already the similar size to a big suite in other resort. Stayed with family for 3 nights in the biggest suite apart from the villas. Everything is so well designed, impeccable attention to detail, the food is so good which is no difference to a Michelin restaurant. The arrival hall is so unique, service is excellent. I loge everything in this hotel.

A Truly Unforgettable Stay at Capella Sanya From the moment we arrived at Capella Sanya, we were immersed in luxury. The resort is absolutely stunning – from its expansive white sand beach to the elegant, palm-fringed pool. The hotel rooms are vast and beautifully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort, space, and style. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making my birthday so special. I was genuinely touched by the beautifully decorated table, the complimentary champagne, birthday noodles, and cake – such thoughtful gestures that made the evening truly unforgettable. Every detail was handled with such care, and I felt completely celebrated. A special mention must go to the Thai restaurant – the dishes were bursting with flavour, cooked to absolute perfection, and served with such warmth and attention to detail. It was, without doubt, the best Thai meal I’ve ever had. Thank you again to everyone at Capella Sanya for creating such a magical experience. You made me feel extra special, and I truly couldn’t recommend the hotel more.

Took a weekend trip to Sanya, and stayed at the Capella Hotel in the humble bay of Tufu. We started our weekend with a luxurious transfer from the airport to the hotel, accompanied by the Culturalist John, in which little pastries, water, welcome drink and a cold towel kept us hydrated and refreshed during the ride.. After a smooth 40 minute ride to the resort, we were greeted by Michelle, and the team to welcome us to the hotel and were quickly whisked away to our room. Once we settled down, we were amazed at the luxury of space we had, which coming from Hong Kong we were grateful for. We explored the resort, and enjoyed the tranquil setting and quiet of the island within minutes we were by the pool and then the beach! During the weekend, we frequented every outlet in the restaurant, and enjoyed phenomenal Chinese food at Lan Ting, Scrumpteous Hainanese Chicken and. a Steak at the Dempsey Restaurant, and extravant breakfasts at Silk Road, the all day dining restaurant, (mimosas for breakfast are a great way to start the day :) ) The Spa has a Hamam and Snow cabin, as well as wonderful individual treatment rooms, and State of the art Technogym equipment in the gym. the weekend was too short, and there were many people that made the trip unforgetable. The General Manager, Yngvar, together with his management team Dennis, Bas are running an exquisite property that is on a much higher level than any other 5 star hotel in Haitang Bay, and possibly all of Sanya. If you want a true luxury 5 star experience, do not look further, and stay at the Capella Sanya!

If you have young kids (1 to 6) this is the best hotel I’ve been too. Read on if you don’t have kids. The attention to detail at this place for children is first class. From the mini dressing gowns and slippers for the little ones in the bedroom to the bibs and plastic bowls on all of the tables for breakfast lunch and dinner. Outside there are three swimming pools with a mini waterpark and inside there is an arcade to keep the kids entertained plus a huge indoor climbing centre/treehouse set up. The downside for Australians it is a little bit difficult to get to, but maybe that will change if flights fly direct from Sydney to Sanya. However, if you do not have young children, this is definitely not the hotel for you. I don’t think they want to cater to the adult market which is fine. No cocktails by the pool here 😃. Oh and weirdly they won’t let you swim in the sea? However Sanya has many first class hotels to cater for all types so if you can get here it’s worth the trip. But if you have kids you’re not going to go wrong.

(Translated by Google) - A place that does its best for children. A gift for the child prepared in the room after check-in. Kids snacks ready in the refrigerator. (I need more of this, so if you ask me, they will add it later). Room cleaning was done so quickly that it was completed after breakfast. There are several free kids programs available at different times within the resort. In particular, there is a bubble show in the swimming pool, which fills the swimming pool with white bubbles. The scale is Chinese-like and children really like it. Life jackets, arm buoyancy devices, and small boats that can be turned with both arms are all available in the pool. Life jackets and buoyancy devices are also available at the rooftop swimming pool on the 15th floor. - Things provided in the room: including the basics, umbrella and slippers for adults and children. Sandals for adults and children that can be worn lightly inside the hotel. Tsingtao beer and various drinks (all free). A transparent liquid mosquito repellent that can be used by plugging it into an outlet. safe. Some thread and a needle. Disposable toothbrush and toothpaste, disposable razor. There is no wine, but there are wine glasses. There is no microwave. - Disappointing point: In the case of standard rooms, the bathroom toilet and shower doors are integrated and made into one unit. When you close the bathroom door, the shower room opens, and when you close the shower door, the bathroom opens. Since there is no separate boundary between the room and the entrance, it provides a psychological reason for children to walk around the room with their shoes on. Also, the refrigerator temperature setting itself is not possible, and all drinks are set to lukewarm for Chinese people. If you ask for ice, it's Hamheung Chasa. Most of the employees can't communicate in English. Even looking at the hotel's official pamphlet, the restaurant location and menu information are poor. - Looking at the contents of the kids program, it seems to be best for children around 5 to 7 years old. Being far from the airport is a disadvantage, but it is made up for by being able to visit the nearby Atlantis Hotel.

Nestled in the stunning landscape of Sanya, Conrad Sanya Haitang Bay is a luxurious retreat that promises an unforgettable getaway. This upscale hotel features beautifully designed accommodations, including villas and pool rooms, perfect for relaxation with family or friends. Guests can indulge in exquisite dining experiences across four elegant venues, where tropical views enhance every meal—whether you're savoring traditional Hainanese dishes or Mediterranean delights. The resort boasts a private beach where you can soak up the sun and enjoy ocean activities.
Quiet & peaceful place to relax. Private pool in the villa is a bit cool during sundown since it is not heated. Bathroom is first class fit for a king. Front desk staff was always helpful. A bit inconvenient to the front reception but a call would get us a ride in their electric club cars. Shuttle bus available to mall shopping area.

(Translated by Google) Pros. 1. Friendliness of the staff. I really like how friendly and friendly all the staff are. All the employees who experienced this experience looked comfortable. And the welcome surprise is cute too. 2. Room condition and amenities. Although it is a relatively old pool villa, it is well maintained. The cleanliness of the rooms and the private pool are relatively well maintained. Amenities include Shanghai soup. 3. Private. The space with the adjacent room is well designed, so there is almost no obstruction. 4. Each pool villa is located in a forest of trees, making it great for a light walk. Cons. 1. Language. The most unfortunate thing is that very few people speak English, so communication is not easy. 2. There is the inconvenience of having to ride a buggy (cart) for every move. Of course, if you call at any time, they will wait at the door. 3. Dining. The food in the main building's lounge is good, and the room service isn't bad, but other than that, there's nothing else to enjoy about dining. You can take a buggy to the double tree right next door, but it can be inconvenient. 4. Double tree noise. If an event is held in the evening at the adjacent Double Tree, the noise is quite loud. 5. Because the beach is connected to Double Tree, you can enter Conrad from Double Tree or from outside. This part was a bit surprising, especially at night, as it was quite dark and quiet inside the resort, so it gave a somewhat negative impression in terms of safety. Total. I plan to stay there when I come to Sanya again because it is a place with a high level of overall satisfaction. Of course, the recently opened Atlantis Hotel nearby is tempting with aggressive promotions and facilities (aquarium-small/water park), but this is a recommended place if you plan to spend a quiet and comfortable vacation. (Original) Pros. 1. Cons. 1. Total.

Island
Xidao Island, also known as Daimao (Hawksbill) Island, is the largest among a group of small islands in Sanya. Shaped like a turtle and nestled in a tropical area, it offers stunning sea views and rich island customs. The island is perfect for leisurely walks and photo opportunities. Visitors should note that the beach near Niuwang Island is made of reef rather than sand, so caution is advised to prevent foot injuries.

Pay attention to safety and prevent injury to your feet; 2. Try not to take the 35 yen sightseeing bus. You can go to the 25 yen sightseeing bus near the Summer Visitor Center for a better experience, just near the Coral Old House. Limited fun Beautiful without a doubt, but don’t go there thinking you can have unbridled fun! Trip over on ferry is quick and efficient.the first beaches you see are the best ones so don’t go roving around for less crowded or less stones and rocks . Swimming sunbathing are not high on the list here , paddle your ankles or go dressed like a princess for photoshot is more the line here, will have to join the queue for the best photo opportunities, loads a people. Eat but don’t do in main eat street go down the village back alleys and find cheaper cleaner less populated restaurant.Island is bigger than it is on the paper map they give you so walking around it will take a while,so get a e-bike and the world ( or island)is your ouster .. but not quite ,the places you can drive to are limited by bollards big fences or security guards who stop you having that much fun by telling you two wheeled vehicles can’t go any further but four wheeled ( extra money) ones go whipping by. That’s ok we will walk then ,let’s go and see the turtle beach …. They aren’t real ! Don’t go there ! No problem let’s do some sea sports swimming diving surfing all not really popular here cus it’s a beach ,so let’s jet ski or motor boat or jet pack , good idea but be ready for them doing the driving in small circles at not high speeds for not that long for not that low a price ,seeing you are paying for him / her to have fun ,you are not in control of anything . Ok then off for a coffee with sea views or views of people taking pictures of themselves, and good luck finding the place to return your e-bike with all the bollards people and security guards .but I do it an injustice it is nice and you are by the sea and there are beaches and stunning views the people are relaxed friendly and not pushy it’s well worth a visit but for us westerners the are lots of limits to your fun . But enjoy!

Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa is a newly opened destination offering 122 modern rooms and villas with a touch of Thai influence. Guests can also enjoy private beach dining, a swim-up bar at the pool, and wine tastings at the cellar.

First, the location of this hotel shown in google map is wrong. Actually, it is just next to the Intercontinental nearby the Xiaodonghai beach. I hope to amend the location, but cannot suggest. Second, I saw some reviews saying that English is not so spoken, and it might be true. I speak Chinese, so I did not notice such a problem. However, facilities and services are fairly good, and the prices are very reasonable.

(Translated by Google) I will never come back here The service and food during breakfast were very good. The building is impressive. There are a few people in the hotel who speak English, only managers. The restaurant does not understand that dinner dishes should be served to all people at once, and not at 10-minute intervals. At the swimming pool, despite separate areas for children, the staff does not pay attention to it and you cannot freely use the pools because it is very noisy and the area around the pool, including the sun loungers, is splashed. The beach staff walks around the deckchairs and cheekily looks at women sunbathing on the beach. The quality of the room's finishing leaves much to be desired. There is no atmosphere in the hotel, there is not even music. The location is very poor, the area is practically abandoned, there are not many restaurants where you can eat. Jakoś wykończenia pokoju pozostawia dużo do życzenia.

The site boasts a series of caves that have witnessed significant historical events over centuries, making it a treasure trove for those interested in ancient culture.

The place and scenery was quite good at sunset, but nothing much to see other than the beach. They have a popular faux Balinese gate that became a photo spot for locals. Otherwise not much to see here. The wind can be quite strong on top of one of these boulders on the beach. The lighthouse seems to be quite an iconic photo spot as well.
